Speaker 1 (00:00):
You are listening to the Dan Patrick Show on Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
It is the Dan Patrick Show here on Fox Sports Radio.
LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you in for
Dan and the guys. You can hear us weekday mornings
before Dan nine am Eastern time, or excuse me, six
am Eastern time, three o'clock Pacific, whatever it's before this
show Monday through Friday, and we will be taking you
all the way up until noon Eastern time, nine o'clock Pacific.
(00:26):
Here on this Friday morning. I feel like we've gotten
through it. Yesterday was like the last not a whole
lot of sports really going on, all right, because now
baseball's back after the All Star break. You've got some
golf event on another ugly course over in Europe somewhere
the people are really fired up about other than that.
(00:48):
But I feel like we've gotten through the real difficulty.
Speaker 3 (00:50):
So I'll take a shot super early, how super quick six'
oh one into the.
Speaker 4 (00:54):
Show he's gonna. Try BUT i, think really What i'm
most disappointed, about AS i was going through the dow
before the show today AND i didn't see anything about
a special guest live Bet jesus now for The Dan Patrick,
show listeners who don't know Who live Bet, jesus Says,
jonas could you explain who this?
Speaker 2 (01:12):
Is so years ago we were doing the show On
Fox Sports radio On sunday nights and got interrupted by
some lightning and thunder in the. Studio some music started
playing in a piece of. Paper what was the? Music
like a? Prayer Oh? Donna, Yeah and so the piece
of paper fell down onto the desk AND i just
read what was in the, paper and it was somebody
(01:34):
by the name Of live Bet jesus was.
Speaker 5 (01:36):
There it was, no it.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
Wasn't it just SAID lbj AND i didn't Know lebron
was a. Gambler and THEN i came to find out
That live Bet jesus made a pick and like most
of his, picks it hit and won on the air
and on a live sporting. Event so you, know if
you when everyone talks about the popularity of in game
wagering and in game, betting just from ore where it
(02:00):
started right here On Fox Sports radio with a a,
being we'll call it Named live Bet.
Speaker 4 (02:07):
Jesus, now mind, YOU i should warn our listeners And,
LaVar i think you've actually Seen live Bet jesus and
action enough to know this guy's a flip and. Loser
if you want to fade him as much as you possibly,
can you want no, PART i mean no part if
any bet this loser, lays Uh, lee you can back
this up to what's his lifetime win percentage like two
(02:29):
something like.
Speaker 6 (02:30):
That that's, uh that's very generous of, You, Brady i'd
say roughly about.
Speaker 4 (02:36):
High.
Speaker 5 (02:36):
Ones, boy there's a trusted.
Speaker 4 (02:37):
SOURCE i gave.
Speaker 3 (02:38):
Lab Bet jesus some amount of money In, vegas and you,
know FIRST i gotta tell you how to work. IT
i gotta tell, YOU i gotta tell. You the experience
of being in his presence at first was, overwhelming, exciting
maybe a little bit nerve, racking but you, know we
(02:58):
went With we went with.
Speaker 5 (03:00):
It Oh. NO i Gave la Bet jesus my money
and well nothing came.
Speaker 6 (03:06):
Back, okay that was he can't, win but the winnings
aren't going to be yielding you.
Speaker 4 (03:10):
Much that's that's for.
Speaker 5 (03:10):
Sure.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
Okay what happened In vegas was there was a fight
During Super bowl, WEEK i Think thursday night And LeVar,
Listen LeVar got some advice about who to bet, on
and because of a shoddy decision and a terrible.
Speaker 5 (03:28):
Decision it was a got. Screwed it was got.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
Screwed but you can't go up to the sports book
In vegas and be, like, hey that was a terrible.
Decision CAN i get my money? Back they'll tell you
to go kick. Rocks so it didn't. Happen what would
Be prisco? Say he'd, say you're on the wrong side
of a good. Bet that's, it that's, it that's the go. To,
YEAH i was on the right side of. It it
just didn't work. Out you, know it all do the
(03:53):
same thing well over.
Speaker 4 (03:54):
Again the reason WHY i bring that up is that
golf tournament that you're not a fan of The open
over there and poor rush uh that they're. Playing, uh
you would think that live Bed jesus if he had
any kahonas anything on, him you, know you think that
maybe just maybe he would want to visit the show
for a, segment maybe lay out a live. Bet BUT
(04:16):
i don't, know he's probably probably. Typic you.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
Know my problem with The Open championship or The British,
Open i'm just gonna call it The British. Open the
courses are so, unattractive Like Augusta National beautiful ON tv
like THE, us But. Oakmont i've been To Oakmont Beautiful
like you go through all the major. Championship you go
to a golf. Course it could be golf and stuff
(04:40):
out here in Southern.
Speaker 4 (04:41):
I've never been. There how would you?
Speaker 5 (04:43):
Know WATCHING?
Speaker 2 (04:44):
Tv it's beautiful in its own? Way what's its own?
Way they got weeds a lot in the.
Speaker 4 (04:51):
Background, no, no that's called. Heather wait what it's a
it's a link.
Speaker 5 (04:57):
STYLE i want to know where that name came.
Speaker 4 (04:59):
From it's it's it's called. Heather, yeah it's it's a
link style course there call it supposed to.
Speaker 3 (05:07):
Look that ain't not but some heather on the back
of the.
Speaker 5 (05:13):
Course why is it? Heather it's very white of.
Speaker 3 (05:19):
Them you gotta, go you gotta go take a stroll
through the. Lorainas. YEAH i don't know where that one's.
Speaker 4 (05:27):
Going BUT i, mean what.
Speaker 5 (05:31):
Does it, matter? HEATHER i, mean it doesn't matter to watch.
It there's just.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
Weeds you're in an open field with. Weeds oh they
decided to mow that. Part all, right let's tee off.
Everybody it's, like come, on, dude clean up your.
Speaker 5 (05:43):
Grass why you? So why do you so down on the. Course,
JONAH i just don't like the way it. Looks that's.
It that's WHAT i feel about.
Speaker 4 (05:49):
It, no you know what he, said this is this
is due to his experience being over An. Ireland people
weren't his, Friend, Jonas why DID i? DID i don't
know that, WELL i don't. KNOW i don't. Know they
weren't as friendly towards, you weren't as, welcoming you. Know it.
Was jonas really played up the whole. Thing he would
barely drink any of his, guinness which was noticed by
(06:11):
many locals said all you don't want to drink assimilate
to our. Culture, okay for to drinks and drink.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
Coffee.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
Okay The Dan Patrick show guys were there as well.
Too we were all out. There and there's a thing
you do In dublin or In ireland where you've got
to drink down to the, line you've got to.
Speaker 4 (06:29):
Drink it's called splitting the g all.
Speaker 5 (06:32):
Right well they can split this g. Uh all.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
RIGHT i almost got, there And i'm not going to
be judged BECAUSE i didn't accurately get to the. Line,
okay LIKE i didn't see a lot of people accurately
get to splitting the Wow.
Speaker 4 (06:44):
LeVar i'm not gonna let him keep going because he's
not really ever talking about really what took. Place you
know what people bought us a? Guinness do you have
any guiness that was into the show at the d
of the. Day, yeah but they were all left, full
just sitting there, him just sitting. There that's the until
Until lee would come by and. Posh lee made it
(07:04):
look Like jonas actually drank any of the guinness that
people bought for.
Speaker 5 (07:08):
HIM i Got, Lee how did that make you? Feel
split The.
Speaker 6 (07:12):
Oh i'm pretty good at. IT i get in uh
one every six. Times leave split my gas three times In.
Ireland and here's the thing that, please.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
Like any good, dog whatever you don't, finish they'll take
care of like.
Speaker 5 (07:31):
This that's why they invented the term doggy. Bag my
kids drink extra stout guinness all, day really all.
Speaker 3 (07:40):
Day it doesn't fill you. Up that's rost rosta bredren
and that's that's we. Drink man drink that all its extra.
Stout really what not? Me that's that's that's that's my
weapon of. Choice in, fact outside of, surveys is like.
Drinking i've been on This Corona light late light thing.
(08:05):
LATELY i don't know, why But i've been really Liking,
Corona like how you're A pacifico. GUY i Love, pacifico
but like it's been hurting. Me there's this one beer
coming out THAT i feel really good. About but we'll
hold on to that. One you, know let's Stick city
we we we we Wet Olt Citrus. Weak but let
(08:27):
me tell, you, crady how long we've been hearing about
we're going to get some.
Speaker 5 (08:30):
Beer you Should wolf.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
Tickets no, way it's, COMING i promise you it's on the. Way,
ANYWAY i.
Speaker 4 (08:40):
Think that's not. Coming IT'S. Tj watt's new. Deal it's.
Speaker 2 (08:44):
There it has, Dropped, yeah three, years one hundred and
twenty three.
Speaker 5 (08:49):
Million to take that, line one hundred eight million. Dollars
why isn't T. J watt? Guaranteed it puts T.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
J watt as the highest paid non quarterback IN nfl.
History forty one million dollars a year he's going to.
Get so they tack on another three, years.
Speaker 5 (09:07):
Which is what one million more or one hundred thousand.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
More THAN i think one one million more than miss?
Speaker 3 (09:15):
Okay, so which did you know what that? Means we
got was next? Up you gotta believe, this, Na, yeah
BECAUSE i don't. THINK i don't Think hendrickson is going
to get that type of. Contrack SO i don't, think,
YEAH i don't Think dallas has to wait. Anymore like
Now Michael parsons can get his deal.
Speaker 5 (09:34):
Done thanks captain. Obvious now the question who did? That
who did?
Speaker 2 (09:42):
That?
Speaker 3 (09:46):
NOW i think the question now becomes is it like
forty one? Point you know one forty? One a?
Speaker 4 (09:54):
Million?
Speaker 5 (09:55):
More you think a? Million, Okay so.
Speaker 2 (10:00):
Do you think The, bengals in seeing this deal looked at,
Him we're, like that's?
Speaker 3 (10:04):
AWESOME i think, yeah that's absolutely well there there, There LeVar,
actually and you backed him on.
Speaker 4 (10:15):
This Jonas givar made the case yesterday that he Thinks
Jared jones wants to, say, hey hey, Boys i'm Paying
i'm paying the most defensive the most money for the
defensive playing the, league the non, Quarterback i'm paying him the.
Speaker 3 (10:29):
Most that might, you, guys that might be a little
out of context. THOUGH i Mean.
Speaker 5 (10:35):
I'm not saying he's waiting to say.
Speaker 4 (10:37):
That, WELL i.
Speaker 3 (10:38):
Just don't think he wants to have to be the
one that has to say he did. It where he
knows he has.
Speaker 5 (10:44):
To that's.
Speaker 4 (10:45):
All, well All i'm saying is The Cincinnati bengals in
the exact.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
Opposite there you, Go yet we can't agree on To jonas's,
point what was?
Speaker 4 (10:54):
That what was that they just drove? By was THAT
tj people to hop it on?
Speaker 5 (10:59):
That he's, like ha, ha way to.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
Go we don't use the job. Lane we'll stay right
here in this. One like they are The Rob parker
of THE. Nfl Like Rob parker who brings his own
tea Bags Rob parker Super Bowl week and they're not
even like named tea, bags their their store brand signature
(11:23):
select From ralph's Or albertson's Or Pigly. Wiggly and it's
because he doesn't want to spend money on actual tea.
Speaker 5 (11:30):
Bags that's The Cincinnati. Bengals i'm a.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
Woman they have no, inters they have no interest in
matching that.
Speaker 3 (11:38):
Deal but all, seriousness all. Seriousness if You're, hendrickson what
are you going to? Do like that's gotta be the
biggest question. Here what is he going to?
Speaker 1 (11:49):
Do?
Speaker 5 (11:50):
Retire why would you retire when you can make a
lot of?
Speaker 3 (11:53):
Money, like, okay resign to the fact that you're not
going to get that money from The Cincinnati. Bengals they're
not going to trade. Them do you think they trade?
Them who does the? Trade who does the?
Speaker 2 (12:06):
Trade, well they gave him a chance to go seek
a trade and nobody and nobody, moved nobody.
Speaker 3 (12:12):
Budged, okay so you don't have the opportunity to go
seek a. TRADE i, mean is it messed up to
say at some point you got to, Say i'm not
going to get this type of money in the. Market
i'll get his Close he can get into the, thirties,
right he can.
Speaker 4 (12:29):
Get close to.
Speaker 5 (12:30):
It, yeah he can Get the tough.
Speaker 4 (12:33):
Part about his position now is you would have thought
if something was going to, happen it would have happened.
Earlier this year where there's a bit more cap. Space
teams are spending a lot of. Money but you, know
again we kind of talk about like deadlines due. Deals
you always hear that. Phrase in this, Case, look he's
under contract and it's the last year of his. Deal
(12:54):
he's scheduled to make what fifteen point eight you, know
as far as his his salary this, year which is
grossly underpaid considering how productive he's been the past two.
Years but he's thirty, one and we keep talking about
that age thirty number and what that means for players
as they move, Forward greater injury, risk you, know lack
(13:16):
of production tends to kind of fall. Off so that's
that kind of that point in time where teams want,
to you, know not necessarily have to shell out a
ton of. Money SO i think as we get close
to the, season he'll get traded for and obviously if
that team trades for, him they know that like he's
being traded to show up and get paid more than
whatever The bengals are paying. HIM i think the tough
thing for The bengals is that if they were going
(13:38):
to replace, him which they have with their first round
pick And Shamar, stewart they should have done whatever trade
deal was on the table before the, draft because that's
what you had the most. Leverage now that you already
have this, replacement it looks kind of. Tough and on
top of, that teams are looking at you, thinking, well
you're kind of desperate because not only have you not
signed this guy to, extension but your first's, rookie you,
(14:01):
know draft, pick has not even signed his. Deal he
hasn't been there at. All so it becomes a very
difficult situation all the way around For, hendrickson purely because
of the size of these deals that The bengals can't,
pay and then the fact of his age and factoring
in other pieces of, it and really The bengals and
where they're at where they don't have to move on
(14:21):
from him. YET i, mean and he's under, contract so
they can find him and they, can you, know do
whatever they need to do to try to entice him
to come back and play under the contract that he's
currently playing.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
On in this in the same off, Season Max crosby
signed one for thirty five million a, year and now
we've just SEEN. Tj watts sign one for forty. One
it's going to be closer To. Max we're literally in
the same off. Season it's two months.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
Ago and honestly, SPEAKING i Think cincinnati's going to try
to get it for less than thirty. FIVE i think
it'll be in the, thirties but it's going to be
less than thirty. Five it is going to be what
Does hendrickson want to? Do BUT i think that again
back to the original. Point now the stage is. Set
Now Jerry jones can go. Ahead he knows what he
has to. Pay he can go to, uh go To
(15:10):
micah's representation and say here's the market, here it's now.
Here it is, like let's get the deal. DONE i
wouldn't be surprised If Michael parsons deal drops today or
like in the next couple of, days, today, Tomorrow. MONDAY
i wouldn't be.
Speaker 4 (15:28):
Saying so that's they were just.
Speaker 3 (15:29):
Waiting that's what you're. SAYING i believe. SO i said it.
YESTERDAY i KNOW i believe. SO i do not think
that they wanted to put your city that he wasn't looking. Either,
sma the face you. ARE i almost called you a
name on on live. Radio why are you so stuck
(15:49):
on that?
Speaker 5 (15:50):
Line Like?
Speaker 3 (15:51):
Michael first of, All i'm talking About Jerry, jones Not Michael.
Parsons AND i stand ten toes down on the pat
toe That Michael parsons is not looking for a. Contract
he's the contract is coming to. Him And Jerry jones
was most certainly most likely waiting FOR.
Speaker 5 (16:12):
Tj watt to get his deal.
Speaker 3 (16:14):
Done AND i don't think That Jerry jones would want
it to be out there that The Pittsburgh steelers did
a better deal WITH. Tj watt than he did With Michael,
parsons knowing the conversations and the. Players as we mentioned
that you have to make comparisons to as it applies
(16:37):
To Michael, PARSONS i stand on that.
Speaker 2 (16:39):
You Mentioned Jerry. Jones he actually was asked what he
wants out of THE. Michaeh parsons. Extension let's take a.
Speaker 5 (16:45):
LISTEN i won't make some glory. HILL i, mean you
guys are a hole to break go to break. Bad,
yeah you know. WHAT i don't. Either i'm With Jerry
jerry TO i don't know what you wants to keep talking.
About mike al waiting on a.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
Contract you're sitting here talking About terry on someorickting like
like like my my stepbrothers THAT i want to kick
out of the. House the slumber party is. OVER i
don't want y'all here. Anymore i'm taking my. Sake y'all
need to go.
Speaker 5 (17:18):
Home.
Speaker 4 (17:18):
MAN i think you're touching on something That I've i've
come to learn over the years and this is Where
i'm like out of touch with it Because i'm just
a you, KNOW i grew up in a middle class
family in The. Midwest IS i know some people who
are like, wealthy and they will brag about like bets
they've lost or money they've, lost how much it is
(17:39):
that that they exactly so it like puts them in
a category of, like oh, yeah and it's like, okay
and and this actually falls in that. Category then if
you're telling me that you think he's gonna kind of,
brag if you, will about Paying Micah parsons more than
any other player in the.
Speaker 5 (17:54):
LEAGUE i don't know that he's going to brag about.
Speaker 3 (17:56):
IT i just know that he doesn't want to have
to be in a situation where somebody else did a
bigger deal for the same.
Speaker 4 (18:03):
Pace we know this someone eventually. WILL i don't know
who that player, is but we always know that like
it doesn't to be at the same, time it doesn't
need to be and weeks, APART i don't think a.
Speaker 2 (18:16):
PART i don't think it bothers him if he ends
up paying more than he could have two months, PRIOR
i don't think it bothers them. ALL i Think i've
always thought it's like a fashionably late, Tax like He's,
okay how cheap you.
Speaker 4 (18:28):
Are that's shocking to hear you.
Speaker 3 (18:30):
Because he's talking about Someone oh, yeah oh this is.
Me if he is talking about himself would be much. Different,
PLEASE i saw what he can you imagine.
Speaker 4 (18:38):
If jonas missed a sale At Ross stress for, less
he would be so frustrated ABOUT i can.
Speaker 5 (18:43):
Still remember WHEN i.
Speaker 2 (18:44):
MISSED i swear to, GOD i saw on my, LIFE
i swear To. God AND i remember my mom telling,
ME i think we're going to regret that.
Speaker 4 (18:51):
Because it was. There what was? It what was the?
Sale do you pass?
Speaker 5 (18:56):
Up it was a.
Speaker 2 (18:57):
Jacket it was a jacket that it was like nine,
dollars and her AND i we were looking Through ross
AND i STILL i remember this. Moment she's, like, well
let's just you, know we'll come. BACK i was like,
okay and then we went back like a week. Later,
There oh it's. Gone it's gone that, day it's, gone like.
Minutes OR i love Watching LeVar look at you as
(19:19):
you tell us he's so. Full i'm not Even i'm
not even making that story out on. EVERYTHING i remember
her telling me, specifically, yeah, listen you, know sometimes when
you want, something maybe you just have to jump right
then and. THERE i was, like, oh, okay that's a good.
Point let lesson. Learn BUT i still remember that ross
stress for less thousand oaks still there by.
Speaker 3 (19:40):
The way them defects on, them them, Clothing like if
you could find one that just had, that just that slight.
Speaker 5 (19:47):
Defect you were. Good you were. Good it's, like, oh
it's a. Starter well it's The Pittsburgh, penguins.
Speaker 4 (19:58):
Right.
Speaker 5 (20:00):
There's no g there's NO i in. Pens not this.
One that's a different.
Speaker 2 (20:06):
Sport it's like those the liquor store glasses you, get
they're Not, oakley's They're.
Speaker 5 (20:10):
Okie's. No, HELL i swear To, god why.
Speaker 4 (20:14):
Are you chiming on? On this wouldn't leave you a
resident expert store.
Speaker 5 (20:18):

at a liquor.
Speaker 6 (20:21):
Store oh, YEAH i get them all the. Time you
get the The ray, band fake o the fake ray. Band,

Here i'll get a little over fifteen minutes from now
here on The Dan Patrick. Show Just i'm trying to
figure out what happened. Here So Lloyd, howell who's the
executive director of THE nflpa.
Speaker 5 (22:04):
Resigned it Is, oh it, was, yeah it was what?
Speaker 2 (22:09):
Happened was it was it like hiding stuff from the.
Players wasn't the conflict of interest that he was working
with a private equity firm that was working with THE,
nfl because we were told last, week, hey nothing to see.
Here he was vetted no problem, whatsoever and, APPARENTLY i guess,
(22:32):
not he, decided, Yeah i'm gonna go ahead and take
a step back. Here so away we go with the
latest development in the circus that is THE.
Speaker 3 (22:40):
Nflpa why nothing anybody should be shocked. By but let's
let's hear WHAT q has to say about.
Speaker 4 (22:53):
It there's a lot of layers to, this, obviously AND
i think he stepped down most likely because internal pressure
over the things that were brought up that, honestly you,
know players were unaware, of whether that be through the interview,
process his relationship with The Carlisle, group which is looking
to invest in some of these, franchises whatever the case may,
(23:15):
be probably shouldn't have been the guy in the first
place if he was gonna have such a short, tenure
and you realize there is some of these conflict of.
Interests so here's my issue with all of this, is
if you're you, know looking at this and being honest with,
yourselves it's not just would how who's stepping down because
(23:37):
of some of these conflicts of interest and things that have.
Occurred because there's a voting committee on this, right there's
a players who elected from each one of those teams
is going to vote and decide whether or not he
should be the executive. Director so that vote took, place
you really should be calling in question the people who
are making that. Vote, now granted we weren't in the,
room we don't know what that conversation was like when they,
(23:59):
voted but this is a moment where THE, nflpa the players,
union needs to look in the mirror. Collectively this is
like every player that's part of it and, say we
need to figure out a better process of not only
figuring out and hiring who that executive director is going to,
be to get the best person possible to represent a
(24:20):
union that is weak in terms of how we challenge the,
owners but even greater in context when you look at THE,
nba THE mlb and other unions around. Them it is
the most powerful, league yet it's the weakest. Union so
hopefully this is a wake up call to THE nflpa
and all who are involved and all the players as,
(24:42):
well to get more, involved to be more active and
understanding a lot of the things that players WHEN i
would sit in meetings and they would go over THE,
cba they were unaware. OF i remember sitting in The
Seattle seahawks team meeting room and players being irate about
the fact that there was gonna be blood, testing which
they had agreed to in THAT. CBA i mean standing, up, screaming, shouting,
(25:06):
ANGRY i mean everything you could. Imagine AND i remember
walking out of that meeting, thinking this isn't on those
players for acting emotionally about what they're being. Told it's
because we aren't doing a better job collectively as a
union of educating every single player of what exactly we're
signing up. For And i've heard some of those calls
(25:28):
when during the lockout period what that sounded, like where
certain players were pushing to sign the, deal pushing to
sign the, deal sign the, deal AND i get that
there was players who are in need because they've blown
through whatever savings they, had and there were players who
wanted to cash it on contracts that, year so they
wanted to be able to do a new contract or
get an extension at the right time where it was
an uncapped year so there's all sorts of different motivations behind.
(25:52):
It but this should be a wake up call for THE.
Nflpa it really. Should AND i THINK i Believe Don
davis is stepping in as the interim, Awesome he's been
with THE pa for a long. Time he's trusted by,
PLAYERS uh Love. Don so hopefully maybe it's not just an,
interim you know term for. Him maybe maybe it's you,
know our or maybe he's gonna end up being the
(26:13):
new executive.
Speaker 3 (26:14):
Director optics, wise this had to. HAPPEN i think that
understanding that you hit findings that, were you, know pertinent
to what's going on with the people you, represent that's
just that's as horrible a bad look as as it.
(26:35):
Gets so now you move into there's going to be
tremendous trust issues that that developed from.
Speaker 5 (26:44):
This what what? Else? What?
Speaker 3 (26:47):
What what else is? There what happened? Next what should
we expect? Now in terms of that that explanation and
antidote for for the. Players the spectrum of education and
understanding is super. Vast it's very it's a very wide
(27:10):
spectrum from highly highly highly educated to highly highly highly under.
Educated and that's just a reality that exists some of
these guys really really need more in terms of understanding simple,
(27:30):
things not just not just getting into, business but getting
into just simple things of. Understanding and in some, instances
you don't have to be a bookworm or a scholar
of sorts to be a professional football.
Speaker 5 (27:47):
Player so there's.
Speaker 3 (27:48):
That to, me what we're looking at right now is
the idea and the understanding of what is the value
proposition that is at play in that stake with THE
nflpa Right, like to, me we look at these other,
unions why are they so? Good it's because you have
(28:08):
the most high profile guys that are going to back
in these in these union these union room. Meetings there's
only a handful of guys that are going to be
commanding the type of dollars we just talked about WITH.
Tj watt getting his. Contract there's only a handful of these.
Guys there's only a handful of influential players that are
(28:31):
actually going to be around long enough where these things
truly are, debatable where they, matter where they impact you
the other guys they're trying to. SURVIVE i want to
make a. ROSTER i HOPE i can make a. ROSTER
i HOPE i can make a year's. Wage so to,
ME i think that it's this is such A i
(28:52):
feel like it's an easy fix and it's a complicated
one all at one. Time the easy fix is you
gotta get your most highest worth athletes to come together
and make sure that whatever it is that the agenda,
is that agenda is fitting and it's fair to the,
players and the players are are given a fair opportunity
(29:15):
to understand what those things, are like a drug, test
like THE gla and your, name image and, likeness the
benefits that are connected to what you have going, on
the rules of engagement between you the player and the
franchise that you play. For there's a lot of things
that can be maybe reduced the lack of trust that is.
(29:40):
There but also with that being, SAID i think there's
so many moving, parts so many different agendas amongst the,
players not just outside of, that amongst the. PLAYERS i
think that is probably going to be, very very, difficult
as it's been to find out where you land on
what the proper solution to all of.
Speaker 5 (29:59):
This how could anybody take them? Serious, again that's and
that's it's a proper.
Speaker 2 (30:04):
Question they're, like, oh we're going to get this and
that BECAUSE i Remember Demores smith came out in like
twenty seventeen and he was talking About may next time,
around we're going to get, this and we're going to get.
That and then you come to find, out, man everybody
was in, it like everybody was. Involved it JUST i
don't know. HOW i don't know how you regain the
trust of not only the players but also the public
as well too to even take them serious again feels, weird.
Speaker 4 (30:28):
NO i, mean and Then LeVar brings up the best
point and really to hammer at, home you were doing
union deals for players who aren't even in the, League
like the guys who the deals you're, doing the negotiations
with different collective bargaining agreements are oftentimes in. COLLEGE i,
mean your average career length is three. Years so oftentimes
(30:48):
you're trying to make sure those players who are if
you're doing a bell curve, right who are half the,
league who only are in there for three, years you're
trying to educate, them get them under stand all of.
It but the reality is it's the guys who aren't
even in the league yet who are most likely going
to be walking into whatever collective bargaining agreement you just,
negotiated which is.
Speaker 5 (31:08):
Crazy that's, crazy, yeah.
Speaker 4 (31:10):
And but but it makes it really really. Hard you
look at, baseball you look at in THE, nba you
look at some of the sort of league guys have guaranteed.
Deals when they sign a five, year fully guaranteed deal
and they get bought, out they're still making two thirds of,
that or they're still making a good chunk of, that
depending on the language of. It so teams have to
invest with, them they have to be patient with, them
they have to you, know if they get, traded they're
(31:31):
still on that. Deal the other team's absorbing. That so
there's a lot of. Things. Now they can get bought
out and maybe they're out for a, minute but they'll
find their way back into. It you, know they tend
to have if they make it a much longer career.
Path so it's just there's a lot of people. Too
and that's the other. Thing you, know you get so
many people in make your. Opinions like every collective barneying
agreement that it comes, to you've got probably, seven eight
(31:54):
nine different things that you're trying to improve, upon and
the owners have one or, two and so that makes
it difficult to ever make any, headway but even more than,
that to get a consensus on any one thing that
people feel strongly about it is it's. TOUGH i, mean, LOOK. J. C,
tretter by the, way might be the next one to. Go,
YEAH i, mean in all, seriousness here was the president
WHEN i Believe Lloyd howell was, hired and then he
(32:17):
got hired as the chief strategy. Officer and there are
some things that came to light that you, know obviously
he was most likely aware of during that, process and
then how he ended up getting. Hired you, know it
now looks even more, shady and it looks like power
grabs by different. People so it's unfortunate because, again greatest,
league greatest sport in the, world but the players aren't represented.
(32:39):
Better and LIKE i, Said i've got optimism because Of Don.
DAVIS i Love Donn he's a good guy AND i
think he'd be good for the.
Speaker 2 (32:44):

Speaker 4 (35:07):
Marry now people are actually identifying people who are around
them because they obviously do of, this and so now
they're being drug into this, too which makes it even more.

might have done something bad.
Speaker 5 (35:34):

Speaker 8 (35:35):
THINK i think more people on these cameras need to
take a. LESSON i saw A Taylor swift fan who
like threw a towel over her head while being interviewed
because like she didn't want to shoot her face ON
tv because she was skipping. Work she had called in
sick to work to go to This Taylor swift. CONCERT
i think more people's got to do.
Speaker 4 (35:52):
That so that's actually the question that comes to mind
with all this surprisingly is should they have reacted more
cool and in the moment because the.
Speaker 3 (36:01):
Reaction was what drew all the attention draft. Did BUT
i think the damage was done to.
Speaker 2 (36:07):
Me that's the only thing that guy did. Wrong just
the way he. Acted did you see her? Face His
his face was kind of like oh f her face
was like.

That him and? Her and by the, way shame on

thought that was his.
Speaker 5 (36:53):
Wife there you go, there that's what he should have.
Speaker 3 (36:56):
Did that's what should be Ex you know what something
happened where there was like a family tragedy or something
to that, effect and and there was just consolting that
needed to take.
Speaker 4 (37:08):
Place, yeah hold, ON i Need jonas to unload his.
CLIP i know he's got a bunch more jokes sitting in.
HERE i can tell by looking at him on. Camera,
no he's sitting on a bunch of. Stuff that's where
he was, like, well he did nothing, Wrong he did nothing.
Speaker 5 (37:22):
Wrong who plays In Jellett? Stadium not The? Patriots not? Lately?
Speaker 2 (37:29):
OKAY i, mean, well they're gonna sit in, judgment all,
right the people that are that own and Operate Jellette
stadium judgment based on stuff we know about, Them.
Speaker 3 (37:39):
So clearly they're they're leading the way on being poor examples.
Speaker 5 (37:43):
EXACTLY i keep, Going, heylee what's this guy's? Name this
Uh Andy?
Speaker 2 (37:51):
Byron and you got my, support you got my. Support

give somebody a hug these days just because.
Speaker 5 (38:05):

of the press spot that's there is and So, God god.
Forbid he shows a little bit compassion and concern for
a woman in distress who's going through a. Divorce but
we're going to out this guy coldplay out to be
ashamed of.

Husband like what city would that?
