just a boob.

Speaker 7 (02:13):
No, well, if you called us both boobs, it would

Speaker 7 (02:39):
You have to celebrate my husband's birthday yesterday one week.

Speaker 5 (02:46):
What a stretch of time this guy's having.

Speaker 7 (02:48):
I know, I know. We go from the wedding to
his birthday to mother's day.

Speaker 5 (02:52):
Well, happy birthday, Christopher. Yeah, thank you, very nice. What'd
you guys do anything?

Speaker 7 (02:56):
Age of fifty two?

Speaker 6 (02:59):
Baby he is?

Speaker 9 (03:00):
He is?

Speaker 7 (03:01):
Yeah, we went to uh, we went to Texas Roadhouse.

Speaker 6 (03:05):
Nice, the new one up there, the new one up in.
They kill it. Man, they're doing a good job.

Speaker 7 (03:09):
Oh it was it was slam pat meal.

Speaker 4 (03:12):
Yeah, they do a wonderful job. I mean, that's why
they're the number one casual restaurant in America right now.
They took over Olive Garden because you can never have
a bad experience, and the prices are fair.

Speaker 7 (03:20):
Also, especially for right now Texas Roadhouse.

Speaker 6 (03:23):
Trump's Country just works right now.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (03:25):
Yeah, a lot of steak eaters up there, but it
just checks out for sure. Hey, I got a question
for you guys, because I did some work around this
house and I ran into a thing.

Speaker 6 (03:35):
Oh oh is it an ee sight thing? No, no,
not an eyesight thing.

Speaker 4 (03:39):
So I I We're doing a bunch of work around
the house, and my wife says, hey, look, you know,
we need to pressure wash the front of the house
because we have a bunch of oak trees around. And
the oak trees will you know, they'll when the rain hits,
it'll drip that stain and it'll stay in the part
of your house a little bit. And the eves of
our house had that drippy kind of like an old

(04:00):
haunted house kind of look. So it's time to clean them.
So we as we were doing some stuff, I said, well,
I'll get out. We have a little electric pressure washer.
It's just like a little residential pressure washer, just for
doing stuff like this. I mean, that's all it's good for.

Speaker 7 (04:11):
Use any of that wed and forget they.

Speaker 5 (04:13):
No, no, no, I didn't use any of that stuff.
So I'm just gonna get up there and do that.

Speaker 6 (04:16):
Right.

Speaker 5 (04:17):
So I get all my stuff out, get the pressure
washer hooked up, and I get up there and I
start pressure washing, and I notice these little sacks that
are attached to the eve of my house, right, And
I've seen them before.

Speaker 6 (04:28):
I know what it is.

Speaker 5 (04:29):
It's a spider sack, right, It's a spider egg sack. Right,
So I house sacks.

Speaker 4 (04:34):
So I stopped what I'm doing, and I was like, Okay, well,
I actually want to go do some research on dealing
with this because I don't know what the deal is, right.
I mean, I kind of try to take everything into
consideration while I'm doing my stuff, not to upset the
balance of nature and man blah blah blah blah blah.
I know it doesn't seem like, I'm that guy, but
sometimes say where's Jim? Sometimes I can be that guy? Right,

(04:57):
So I go in a hop online real quick, and
I the very first thing I see and I just
kind of stopped there. The very first thing I see
is that it's bad luck to remove a spider sack
from your house. Now we know that there's all these
weird kind of old wives tales and stuff, and man,
I looked at it and I was like, I don't know, dude,

(05:20):
there's a bunch of them. So I ignored the advice
and I went out there and I pressure blasted what
has to be thirty spider sack eggs off of the
eve of the front of my house.

Speaker 5 (05:33):
Oh so much for loving nature. Well, I do love it,
but I to a limit. Well, I like it from
a disciss. I can't pressure wash around them, dude, they
were everywhere.

Speaker 4 (05:44):
So I blasted them off there. And I've never heard
that they were good bad luck. Have you ever heard
that before?

Speaker 7 (05:49):
I've heard killing spiders is bad luck.

Speaker 4 (05:51):
Yeah, that's that's apparently where it comes from. But I mean,
it's just it's an egg sack.

Speaker 7 (05:57):
Are you looking to have us make you feel better?

Speaker 5 (05:59):
I promise issue I'm not. I'm just didn't notice.

Speaker 7 (06:02):
You came to the wrong place.

Speaker 6 (06:03):
If you had heard of it or not, have you
heard anything else like that.

Speaker 5 (06:06):
I've heard of black cats, never anything nothing about spiders.

Speaker 4 (06:10):
Yeah, I haven't heard anything like that, like a bad
luck to do this or like the black cat thing
when it comes to animals. You know, we had those
stupid things on your chimney last year.

Speaker 7 (06:20):
Oh, the chimney swifts.

Speaker 4 (06:22):
And I think they're back because I didn't get up
there and fix the chimney, because it's like it's a
death wish to get up they're trying to do that.
I got on my roof today, just yesterday, just trying
to pressure wash the eve of the side of the house,
and in the minute I stepped on the edge of it,
I was like, it doesn't look that steep, but I'm like,
this was a mistake. Immediately I started having visions of
rolling off that thing and dying right there with a

(06:42):
pressure washer.

Speaker 7 (06:43):
My aunt on top of a spider sat on top.

Speaker 6 (06:45):
Of a bunch of spider sacks. I blew up. And
once you clean it too, I think you have to
talk like I think chimney's chimney sweep.

Speaker 5 (06:54):
I think that's Florida law. As soon as you clean
your your clean your chimney. It's like for and br
let me tell you, finding a chimney sweep in central
Florida that goes above the two story area is for
one thing hard to find. And second, those guys are
not afraid to charge because if you have to get
your chimney like you know, swept or repaired or any

(07:16):
of that stuff, or like on top of hours, it
has bird wire up there, but obviously there's been an
issue where it got blown away from a storm or something.
And these chimney swifts will come in seasonally and set
up shopping your damn chimney and do their eggs and
then in your chimney it sounds like a what's a
it sounds like a bird reserve. I mean it's terrible.

(07:37):
It's so loud sometimes you can't hear yourself think of
the ouse. And then they can charge whatever they want
because they're like drug dealers out in home a hall
in Nebraska, Like where else are you gonna go?

Speaker 6 (07:46):
Dude?

Speaker 4 (07:46):
And you're right, And when you start looking up and
it says like a lot of the chimney sweeps that
I tried to find last year when we bought two
years ago, when we bought this house, man, these guys
are like, well, is it more than two stories? We're like, yeah,
you know, it's a main story and then the house
goes up. It's a steep pitch, and then on top
of that, the chimney goes up from there like eight
or ten feet. And I was like, They're like, nah,

(08:07):
don we don't do that. We're not part of that world.

Speaker 6 (08:10):
I'm like, well, what do you do because we just
do the regular floor to chimneys. I'm like, well that's boring.

Speaker 5 (08:14):
Who couldn't do that? I got you except with a
broom and do that. Yeah, we mainly do apartments. Yeah, yeah,
like what ridiculous. You know I heard a spider fact recently.

Speaker 6 (08:23):
Oh what's that?

Speaker 5 (08:24):
That your common house spider? A lot of people, including myself,
especially when I was younger, I would take them outside.

Speaker 6 (08:31):
They die. Yeah.

Speaker 7 (08:33):
I just learned that recently myself. What I mean, sighters,
they you're supposed to leave them in the house. They
don't necessarily survive out in the wild.

Speaker 6 (08:39):
Oh no way. Yeah, I did not know that either. Oh.

Speaker 7 (08:43):
I always catch them and put them out.

Speaker 6 (08:44):
That ain't happening, then, Yeah, we'll put them out of
their misery early.

Speaker 9 (08:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (08:48):
The thing is is, I told my wife the other day, said,
I will stomp a roach's soul out, and every roach
that roach knows, I will kill with any chemical I can.

Speaker 4 (08:56):
I'll set it on fire. I can't stand them. But
I will not kill a spider not inside the house.
I won't do it because I mean, they're.

Speaker 7 (09:03):
Beneficial, Yeah, very beneficial.

Speaker 6 (09:05):
Ely, you know, and people will judge a little bit
if you have too many of them.

Speaker 4 (09:10):
I know we're going to talk about this a little
bit later. Spirit Airlines is shutting down. But there's an
interesting movement online. I want to tell you guys about that.
Uh that has done that and it is something else.
I know you've probably heard of it. Man, I can't
get this off my my feed, like on on Instagram.
Have you guys heard of the Great kitten replacement theory? No,

(09:31):
you haven't.

Speaker 6 (09:32):
Your algorithm, man, I know you think that.

Speaker 7 (09:34):
Would be in my part of my algorithm.

Speaker 5 (09:36):
Have you heard of the Great kitten replacement Theory?

Speaker 7 (09:40):
No?

Speaker 4 (09:40):
So apparently and you And the funny thing is, of
all people that should know about it, you should know
about it because you're part of it. You are part
of the great kitten replacement theory. If I remember this correctly,
and I just read it once this weekend as a
glancing that when that there is a there is a
global power, like a spiritual power that is, look, man.

Speaker 5 (10:06):
You lost death. I've never heard of, uh, make a
complete sentence.

Speaker 4 (10:11):
A spiritual power that says that people who find kittens
that they're meant to do that that those kittens or
if you find a kitten like you did in the
bushes at this radio station, one of the three that
you have at the house now is a found kitten.
That that is not an accident, that that is by

(10:32):
design and that yeah, my dog sentence, And that is
like the theory is, is that there is a spiritual
power out there putting kittens in the in the in
the way of are in the realm of people who
need them, according to this great spiritual movement.

Speaker 7 (10:50):
Now I know that it's not technically yours, but have
you guys heard Jimmy reference about his cat yet and
how his cat is now sleeping on his chest. He
even showed me a photo last week of his cat
drinking out of the water fountain.

Speaker 5 (11:08):
He was.

Speaker 7 (11:08):
He took a photo of his cat drinking from the sink.

Speaker 6 (11:12):
That's four times you said his cat. That's how he
referred to I told you about my cat. Did you
ask to see this photo of the cat ross?

Speaker 7 (11:24):
I did not.

Speaker 6 (11:25):
Oh, it's even worse. He was proactive about it.

Speaker 7 (11:29):
Oh, proactive about sharing how his cat now sleeps on
his chest.

Speaker 6 (11:33):
Well, that's what people do when they fall in love with.

Speaker 7 (11:36):
So, yeah, he's part of the cat What is the
see look at the photo, you guys, if you're on YouTube,
Jim Colbert. Oh, that's a new one. That's not the
one you showed me last year.

Speaker 5 (11:47):
Ye, she came to sleep on my chest again last night.
Why'd you say it like that?

Speaker 7 (11:52):
Because he's in love?

Speaker 6 (11:53):
What happened?

Speaker 5 (11:54):
No, No, it's too late, dude, that's too late.

Speaker 6 (12:00):
But you can't.

Speaker 7 (12:02):
He's part of the cat distribution system.

Speaker 6 (12:04):
It's too late. What's wrong. He's a face scar away
from doctor evil Man. You can't. We can't support this.

Speaker 4 (12:11):
Oh my god, she's so awesome. She is so awesome.
She comes to me now like a puppy. I can
see because her name is her name is titty cat.
All right, But we call it a short version of that.
But I'm not going to say that on the air
because Jack will get super pissed off, and he should, because.

Speaker 5 (12:26):
You can't even though in the concept of a pet
a pet name, it is those letters, and I can go,
I can't say, you know that name?

Speaker 4 (12:35):
Then come here and I'll tap it and she'll just
walk right over to me. She is amazing. It's a
This has been a game changer. Ross, It's been a
game changer. And I'm getting my eyebrows done next week too.
So anyway, four oh seven nine one six one o

Speaker 7 (14:31):
I just don't trust yes.

Speaker 11 (14:34):
The day we've all decided collectively to come together and
make fun of a speech impediment.

Speaker 13 (14:42):
My favorite holiday this is Yeah, it's only a holiday

Speaker 6 (15:05):
That's b I l s good luck.

Speaker 5 (15:07):
I'm Jim. There's dead Jack and Ross as well.

Speaker 6 (15:11):
It's true.

Speaker 4 (15:11):
It's funny that she mentioned that whole thing, because one
of the things I had as to talk about today
a little bit was what do you think what do
you think people assume about you that is not true?

Speaker 5 (15:22):
What do you think the number one thing that people
assume about you that isn't true? Ross that I don't
care that that oh this is just effortless or like
he's not focused or he's not paying attention, like you're
not a serious person. Yeah that Yeah, they don't take
you seriously.

Speaker 6 (15:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (15:39):
And I've definitely been rubbed the wrong way from that
and had to clarify like, no, I'm here, I'm trying.
This is what it looks like. It's just my hair.
What do you think the what do you think the
number one thing that people assume about you that is incorrect.
You are, though, Jack, You're you couldn't even say it. Jesus,
what I What are you doing to us, buddy? I mean,

(16:01):
everybody knows, but it's like it's not It's not like
we met right before the show.

Speaker 6 (16:04):
Dude.

Speaker 4 (16:06):
It's not like he walked up as a new employee,
like we just drafted you and this is your first
day in the locker room.

Speaker 6 (16:11):
Dude, we've met, He goes, I'm cheap. I don't know.

Speaker 5 (16:19):
I think I'm pretty much spot on. Yeah, you think
you're spout on. Maybe that's the problem.

Speaker 6 (16:23):
That might be. Apparently it is. But I mean I'll
jump in. I've I've said to see you look at that.

Speaker 5 (16:31):
Tear me down. Go ahead, Ross, tear him down. I'm
down for it. I'm here for it. Well, guess what
Jack plot twist. It's a compliment I have found. I
think Jack is painfully funny and and a lot of
times it's more of an audience thing than a Jack thing.
I think a lot of things that he says, it's
like you need a black belt in communication to fully
understand it. But once you do, it's hilarious. So you

(16:53):
don't you think so you think the general public doesn't
think Jack is funny. I don't think one of the.

Speaker 6 (16:57):
Thing, thank you, thank you.

Speaker 5 (17:00):
I think one of the first things that one of
the first things that people think of when it comes
to Jack, Yeah, would not be like funny. I would
think it would be like twelve on the list.

Speaker 6 (17:11):
What do you think it is?

Speaker 5 (17:11):
What do you think the number one thing that people
assume about you that isn't true that I never want
to leave my house?

Speaker 4 (17:19):
Did you hear the conversation we just had with Jack? Again,
we've met, so we understand.

Speaker 5 (17:26):
Hey, I left the house twice this weekend. You're bragging
about that, supporting our argument. Do you think that's really
it that? What do you think it is?

Speaker 7 (17:37):
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (17:40):
You don't think you don't know?

Speaker 5 (17:41):
Well, I will let me photosynthesize that plan. Do you
think that that assessment of you is wrong? No, okay,
I was trying to give her a door. Let's be
the lying thing.

Speaker 7 (17:53):
Then, you know I wanted to support Jack in his choice.

Speaker 5 (17:59):
I thought exactly, I'll say, I'll say, when I am
the problem with this, I think people think maybe you're
a little more docile than you actually are. Oh yeah,
when I think when people meet you and you're so
because you're so unbelievably polite, and you're so kind and
so nice, and you have such a great inviting smile

(18:19):
and you're such a great conversationalist that people do not
know that other side of you, and they assume that
you are maybe a little harmless.

Speaker 6 (18:25):
And I know, for a yeah, if you're a nice day,
if it's a nice day, you're like, oh hot, damn dude,
this is what is making happy. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (18:37):
Then those other days when it's raining bourbon, you know,
when you gotta be very careful. You can't wake up
mad Daddy. On those days, I think it's mad Daddy
comes on swinging and he is in that tank top
you don't want to see him in.

Speaker 6 (18:53):
If you fail me, I would think that your biggest
misconception is just like anger. Get asked if I'm okay constantly?

Speaker 4 (19:01):
Are you okay? Because everything fine? You have no idea?
Just sitting there drinking a beer, you cold, Jim, You
look mad. I'm like, I'm not mad. I'm mad that
you keep asking me if I'm mad, But outside of that,
I'm really comfortable and I'm really happy. I just don't
like to sometimes do the thing I just like to chill.
I don't like to show joy.

Speaker 5 (19:20):
Yeah, So like if we were to if we were
to pull the audio of the last forty seconds of
the Jim Colbert Show, I think you would understand why
people are confused. I'm not mad, well, I think honestly,
I have resting a whole face. I think when you
see me as a person, you parallel with me, me
with other people that look like me, and you automatically think, oh,

(19:41):
mad biker or you know, construction guy that made the
wrong financial decision.

Speaker 7 (19:46):
I was going to say, ha, president, but any one
of those will work.

Speaker 4 (19:51):
And I think people get sideways sideline with I'm polite
because I grew up in a very southern household. So
I'm a yes, ma'am, no man, yes, you know, please,
thank you kind of person, and people don't doesn't even
react to that so much. It's gonna while, but yeah, yeah,
I don't think I'm polite.

Speaker 5 (20:07):
Yeah, because when you say like yes sir, it doesn't
just come off like I'm being respectful. It's also comes
off like condescending. No, not because that's mean, but you
say yes sir, no man, and it comes off like, well,
this is how it should be.

Speaker 6 (20:21):
You rushing to me.

Speaker 5 (20:22):
Yeah, I tell you how to be polite. I'll set
the standard. The other thing is before we go to
break real quick. Jack, you'd mentioned this last week. We
talked about it a little bit. I don't know if
you were here that day. Name the band that covers
up for the terrible lead singer of the most oh
Man lead singer, right, lead singer, Yeah, vocalist, whatever you
want to say it, but the vocalist because he's stupid talented.

(20:43):
But the first band that jumped up in my brain
and it's one of my favorite bands of all time,
that's Primus.

Speaker 4 (20:49):
Oh yeah, that's interesting. So that did pop up when
we tell you about it. But the number one answer
was read hot Chili Peppers. Yeah yeah right. So most successful,
biggest band with the singer that really has the least
amount of time. The band really kind of carried the
singer through their careers. I saw that documentary this weekend
because Jack and I talked about it. And did you
start it, Jack and then stop it or did you
just see it?

Speaker 6 (21:09):
I didn't start. I like hovered on it. Yeah, And
I was trying to do I want to spend the
next hour and a half watching this and I opted
for APEX with Charlie.

Speaker 5 (21:18):
I saw that, but I didn't I didn't get in
there yet, but I watched it this wee you watched it.

Speaker 6 (21:22):
I have seen it.

Speaker 5 (21:23):
Yeah, I had no idea about the stories, the band's origin,
any of it.

Speaker 6 (21:28):
Fascinating, Like these.

Speaker 4 (21:29):
Guys should be dead four times each, Yeah, like I
mean it is. Look, you don't know anything about this band,
Like if you're not a fan, and you just like, oh,
give it away, give it away.

Speaker 5 (21:39):
Now, that's awesome. You know, you're swinging your T shirt
knowing the thing when you when you when you hear,
when you hear the how many times this band broke
up and how many how many times the members left
and came back and the one guy did this, and
how they had no families and the guitar players parents
really kind of a it's crazy.

Speaker 4 (21:57):
It actually was very entertaining when it was all done.
My wife is a giant Chili Peppers fans because when
she was in high school, dude just to tell her
you look like the girl in the cover of the
Mother's Milk album. So she automatically just started listening to
him and became a giant Chili Peppers fan. Actually, my
fandom came from her fandom. I was a glancing fan
of the Chili Peppers, and then we started listening to

(22:18):
a lot of it when we got married and started
dating and stuff, which I absolutely loved, and learning about
the band was like, really kind of amazing.

Speaker 6 (22:24):
I thought, I knew man, I knew nothing about these guys.

Speaker 5 (22:27):
And I know his voice on paper is bad, but
that's honestly why it's so good.

Speaker 6 (22:33):
Dude. It's got the bumps to scratches. It's not perfect.

Speaker 5 (22:36):
It's not your stereotypical good voice, and it was different
and it jumped out and we're late and did you
find it amazing?

Speaker 6 (22:44):
As well?

Speaker 4 (22:44):
They had a recording of the first time that Kate
has sang with them. Yeah, And I looked at my
wife and said, could you imagine being in that club
when that band basically came to life? Because when you
hear a recording of it, you're like, yeah, that's the
Chili Peppers, Like that could have been on a Chili
Peppers album. And that was just the first time they ever. Okay,
they just accidentally invited him to come sing with a
band that night because he had supported him the entire

(23:04):
time and changed the entire focus of everything in that
one minute one song. All right four our seven nine
one six one four one new keyword.

Speaker 6 (23:13):
Now.

Speaker 2 (23:13):

you man, I told y'all man that special was wow,
like left me speak to us. Uh yeah, I'm so
glad you guys watch it in that movie Apex. You
know what's scary about that? I told my mom, I'm like,

(24:30):
that dude's probably one of my people because I'm a scorpio.
I looked it up. He was literally born three days
before me.

Speaker 6 (24:36):
Horrifying.

Speaker 4 (24:38):
You have to tell me about Apex Jack. I mean,
I've seen it because anytime you see Charlie, Charlie's thearon
on screen, you gotta pay attention.

Speaker 5 (24:44):
And she's stunning. That's how they got me. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (24:48):
And her childhood life is I mean one of the
craziest stories.

Speaker 5 (24:52):
You guys know about that. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (24:54):
She watched her mom shooting and kill her father because
he was an abusive prick. You literally beat him up
like every other day, and she finally got tired of
it and she said, if you come at me one
more time, I'm gonna shoot you. And he did and
she did, and then she goes on to play one
of the most rifamous serial killers man eaters ever in

(25:15):
the movie monster. All right four o seven nine one
six four one text seven seven zero three one.

Speaker 15 (25:20):

Speaker 4 (25:20):
By the way, that is your four o'clock keyword r

send that away for your chance at one thousand bucks.

Speaker 5 (25:26):
Rich. Guys, that is your four o'clock keyword good luck.

Speaker 7 (25:29):
Yes, And apparently the serial killing theme continues, because Apex
is about a grieving woman seeking solace in the wilderness,
only to become ensnared in a deadly game of cat
and mouse with a serial killer.

Speaker 12 (25:41):
Wow.

Speaker 6 (25:41):
Really, I'm down. I love that. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (25:43):
Same here all right, welcome back. I'm Jim deb Jack
Anne Rosser here as well. I just met Emily the
movie Girl. She'll be joining us here in a few
minutes for our first movie review with her. And she's awesome.

Speaker 6 (25:52):
By the way.

Speaker 5 (25:53):
She is one of the biggest impacts and influences on
the movies that I watched, and I figured, why not
skip the middleman?

Speaker 6 (26:00):
Yeah, introduce you, guys.

Speaker 5 (26:01):
To I'm loving it.

Speaker 4 (26:02):
She's gonna give us a movie, a bad movie, a
good movie, and then a streaming recommendation, which is awesome
because man, I don't know about you, guys. I spend
like this is. I don't know how this this is
exactly how it is for me and the fan, right
for me and my wife. Get done with dinner, clean up,
sit down, do the normal thing, pile up, get your blanket,
get your pillow right, dog in the right position, cat

(26:23):
on the chest of course, what stop real and and we're.

Speaker 5 (26:27):
Like, okay, what do you want to watch? I'm like,
oh no, let's check it out real quick.

Speaker 4 (26:30):
And man, it's not like the old days when you
went to Spectrum and just kind of rolled.

Speaker 5 (26:33):
Through all the channels and go, well, I guess we'll
rent something.

Speaker 6 (26:36):
You know.

Speaker 4 (26:36):
It's like you got to go to every streaming app
right and look through their movie database and try to
remember from database to databay base what they have. And
it's a forty minute it's a forty minute thing to
try to find anything to watch.

Speaker 5 (26:50):
Always blown away by your wife's superpower of going that
one that no, not even of that one, dude, just
whatever pops up when she opens Netflix, she just pushes play.
I do not have that. That is superpower, dude. I'm
breaking out in hives just thinking about it. I'm serious. Yeah,
So we'll talk to Emily here in just a few minutes.
I did want to kind of continue on with the

(27:10):
Spirit Airlines thing, and here's why, because there's a part
of that story that Ded pinched for us, so we
could talk about it a little bit more at link.
But have you guys heard about this TikTok campaign?

Speaker 9 (27:19):
I pinched?

Speaker 7 (27:20):
I didn't take it.

Speaker 6 (27:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (27:21):
No, That's what I'm saying, is you you let me
do it here? Yeah, so the TikTok campaign is have
you heard about it?

Speaker 3 (27:27):
Jack?

Speaker 9 (27:27):
Nope?

Speaker 6 (27:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (27:28):
So there's this guy who is I guess a voice
actor named Hunter Peterson. He's also a content creator and
he posted on TikTok and video he says that has
more more than four point six million views, and he goes,
let's just buy Spirit Airlines. Let's buy it because they
heard the government offer like five hundred million dollars or
that's what they wanted, five hundred million bucks to save it.
And he's like, well, five hundred million isn't that much.

(27:49):
Let's go get it.

Speaker 6 (27:50):
And how did you guys see how much money he's
already has pledge for this?

Speaker 3 (27:54):
No?

Speaker 7 (27:54):
I saw it on Instagram, right, yeah?

Speaker 5 (27:56):
Okay, Well, I mean it would have made the it
would have definitely made the trips over on to other
platforms for sure. I don't know how much money he's raised,
but I do know that he's been like adamant and
been a very vocal fan of Spirit. He has one
of the YouTube videos that he spent twenty four hours
on Spirit airlines.

Speaker 6 (28:12):
Oh My and the fun.

Speaker 4 (28:13):
And that's what I said earlier when Debb brought this
up in news, I was like, Man, have you guys,
do you guys remember hearing a brand like it? Just
and just kind of clarify this for people who like
aren't our age, Like, if you're in your fifties and.

Speaker 5 (28:25):
You're listening to the show, do you remember when Sears
shut down?

Speaker 6 (28:28):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (28:28):
Do you remember how you felt when Sears shut down?
You guys, remember how you felt when Montgomery Ward shut down?
And for people who are a little bit younger and
you don't realize those brands or maybe they're they're dying
old brands to you. To us, that was part of
our childhood, Like watching the movie Struggle is a weird
thing for us because that was our form of entertainment.

Speaker 5 (28:49):
It was that bowling. I mean, that's what we had
to do. So it was just in it.

Speaker 4 (28:54):
Just the thought of that ever ending was just so
far out of possible for us as you think about
things like that. Man, I think this Spirit brand has
kind of tackled a weird vibe with America. I'm telling you,
as much as I read around, I've not heard people
more upset about a brand closing than the Spirit Airline brand.
And I wonder why. I wonder how they tapped into

(29:16):
the psyche of America like they have. I think there's
for some people, like the frugal flyer will call them
when you are looking for the lowest cost possible. Many
times for you that was Spirit, it might be Frontier
Agent Spirit. Those are the those ultra low cost airlines.

(29:39):
So there's may be more familiarity with some flyers, you know,
which would kind of explain that feeling. But also, as
I you know, mentioned in the last segment, is they
also helped keep prices down for the major airlines because
they had to remain competitive. Yes, you know, so they

(30:00):
that's why. And it's funny because Spirit had the knock
of being bare bones. You had to pay for everything,
and yes that was by design. They they took out
all the expenses to give you the lowest possible fare
razor thin margins on profit and therefore when the fuel
costs rise, it's eats.

Speaker 6 (30:21):
Into that profit margin and just puts them in greater debt.

Speaker 5 (30:24):
Yeah, they had already had some other issues before though, right,
I thought they had already tried. There's a possibility they
were going to go bankrupt two other times.

Speaker 6 (30:29):
Yeah, they they were filed twice that I think twice
this year. But in the in the past, when they
own their planes, then they could you know, use those
for collateral, but they can't do that because they lease.

Speaker 4 (30:42):
They were lease right, Yeah, yeah, yeah, but there is
a weird thing though, dude, I'm telling you it could
be the discount aspect of it, but I think it's
also maybe the cost And like that lady said earlier
who let the talk back, like, no, no crashes, no
big incidences. I mean, you'll have some behavior issues. That's
not a spirit thing. You know, there's not just people
doing stupid stuff on airplanes. But but you know, as

(31:02):
far as it being a legit carrier that's on time
a lot, does a good job. I mean, it's like
almost one of those things where you're sad to see
it go because it was.

Speaker 5 (31:09):
It was so efficient. It really delivered what you needed
on a you know, on a daily business or trip basis.

Speaker 6 (31:14):
And also there's no denying when I think the stats
will bear this out. If you have a lower if
your clientele is more economically lower based, right, you have
poorer people flying your airline, chances of acting out is
going to be more with them than it is people

(31:35):
spending two to three times this month from the same shit. Yeah,
in a different airline. Yeah, maybe.

Speaker 5 (31:39):
So.

Speaker 4 (31:39):
Somebody just text in that when Toys r Us closed down,
people are like, you know that that was a big
thing of their childhood. They remember going there for Christmas
and stuff like that.

Speaker 6 (31:47):
It's a nostalgia fact. Yeah it is. You would have
never walked into another Seers again in your life, but
still this knowing that it's not there and you're one
hundred percent right, I hadn't mid one in years. It
just meant there's a part of your childhood that is
now sealed off forever and didn't never did you?

Speaker 16 (32:03):
Guy?

Speaker 6 (32:04):
Was Sears new for you? Guys?

Speaker 5 (32:06):
Like did it drop? Was its first year? No, no
bus first seventy years when we were Yeah, it was
when we were born. I mean when we were kids
had already been in it was already an iconic brand.
I think literally right up there with like Ford and
Chevy Dude. Sears was as Americana as you can imagine
any brand being. They were around in the early nineteen
hundreds with their catalog. You buy a house from them,

(32:28):
I know they would ship it to you on a
shipping team.

Speaker 7 (32:31):
In fact, I want to say one of the businesses
in downtown Mount Dora, maybe Mo's Mountain Moonshine was one
of those Seers catalog homes that came in a kit
on a train.

Speaker 4 (32:39):
One of my old rentals was yeah, yeah, yeah, because
we found out of the way the drywall was put
onto the studs were like, this is a Sears.

Speaker 5 (32:45):
Home text to point out Blockbuster video. That's all.

Speaker 7 (32:49):
A big one.

Speaker 6 (32:50):
It's your connection with what that meant, what that represent
to Like a Friday or Saturday night, you're picking out
your movies, you're watching the movies. It was that feeling
you associated with it. When it closes down, it was
a cultural thing for Americans. I mean, the thing is
is it didn't matter what your family made, whether your
family had no money or all the money. The Blockbuster
experience was the same for everybody. Maybe you didn't get

(33:12):
as much candy as the other guys, but I mean
going in there picking out a movie was just the
same for everybody.

Speaker 7 (33:17):
And what's amazing is that that forty minutes it takes
you get to go through all of the streaming apps
to figure out what they had. Whoa forty minutes a blockbuster?

Speaker 6 (33:25):
Say it seventy.

Speaker 7 (33:26):
Minutes a blockbuster. You could walk through the aisles of
international movies, foreign movies, comedists get the candy stand in
line in your area.

Speaker 5 (33:40):
You know, I I remember how much Crow with a
Fork and a Knife I ate. I believe it was
deep fried. Quite a guy's care sears I didn't understand.
And uh it man more smoking cut evidence of how
much I've grown up in front of his microphone. Seriously,
once I saw movies, Yeah, all of a sudden not
have the grit culturally that they've had my entire life.

Speaker 7 (34:02):
And you've always like in my life, you are the
biggest movie fan I'd ever met someone who loved that
collective theater experience.

Speaker 5 (34:09):
The collective theater experience, I think it's so much better
for our species for long form storytelling. So a story
can get its roots into your soul and then maybe
have you think about something differently to see the status
and the state of movies. I keep going back to
that day when I made for you know this, it's
called let's Buyspiritair dot com.

Speaker 4 (34:30):
Let's buy spirit Air dot com. It's an actual website
and you can go. This guy set this up as
a joke to start with, but he's gotten so much
money pledge for this that now they're like kind of going, hey, man, like,
I mean, I don't know, could we nationalize Spirit Air?
Could it be like the packers and be like owned
by the people? Could that happen to an airline thirty
five million, seventy million, fifty five eighty eight million dollars wow,

(34:55):
with the average pledge coming in at six hundred and
sixty seven dollars per person, and over one hundred and
twenty four thousand, seven hundred people as of the writing
of this story, which is I think twelve hours old,
have already made that pledge. So theoretically, you think, could
you CrowdSurf and and save a company like that and
make like the people of like an app the owner

(35:17):
of a major company it's so crazy you think about that.

Speaker 5 (35:21):
I I'm rooting for it because this is when the
masses kind of become asses. Is when you expect millions
and millions of people to communicate and get on board
with one initiative, it usually falls apart.

Speaker 6 (35:34):
So I'm rooting for improvement of our humanity. Wrong.

Speaker 5 (35:37):
And by the way, he's contacted. No media outlets know nothing.

Speaker 4 (35:40):
This is purely organic, starting on TikTok and then spreading
naturally through the sharing of this video and this message.
He hasn't done an interview, no TV time, no nothing,
just that video, just TikTok coming through and sharing it
over and over. Pretty interesting stuff, all right. Four oh

Speaker 5 (37:22):
I'm Jim there's deb Hello Jack and Ross. It's all true.

Speaker 4 (37:26):
You know, we've toyed with this idea for many, many years.
And Ross brought this young lady's name up a long
time ago, and of course, like I do, every single time,
I dropped it, forgot about it, and then never mentioned
it again. Then he hit me again, did the same
exact thing. Finally, somebody over there took the initiative, just
bookers and just shove it down my throat.

Speaker 6 (37:44):
You guys, give it up. Good laugh for Emily the
movie girl. Thank you Emily. He was accurate. Every man
forget about it?

Speaker 5 (37:58):
Yeah, every still that is true. So how are you?

Speaker 6 (38:01):
By the way, I'm so good.

Speaker 18 (38:02):
Thanks for having me.

Speaker 4 (38:03):
Well, thanks for joining us. Appreciate it so much. By
the way, you can check out Emily on our fee
Jim Colbert live dot com. You can see her and
all her glory and here doing this for us. Now,
before we get into the reviews and stuff, give us
a little background to yourself. How you became so addicted
to movies? Ross said that, a you have a goal
of watching so many. What happened? What triggered this real?

Speaker 6 (38:23):
Yes?

Speaker 18 (38:23):
Well, you know, I mean, I think growing up it
was always such an event to go to the movies, right.
We would only go once or twice a year, so
it was such a big deal to be able to go.
And truly, movies shaped who I am, and it's the
reason I became a performer. I'm in the profession I'm
in now. And then right before COVID happened, I got
AMC A List and that I think has spiraled since

(38:45):
then because you can go see basically as many movies
as you want.

Speaker 5 (38:49):
What is the AMC A list Is that it's their club, right, Yeah,
you pay a monthly fee, then you just can see
as many movies all right.

Speaker 18 (38:56):
Yeah, it's up to four movies a week in any
format so wow. Yeah, and most people don't watch that many,
but I watch at least one a week early. Yeah,
I don't love it.

Speaker 6 (39:07):
What was the goal?

Speaker 5 (39:08):
I remember this always blew my mind, was thinking that
no one goes into January first with like a movie goal.
But I remember you in December telling me that my
goal for twenty twenty six was how many movies? Seventy
five seventy five and these are all new movies.

Speaker 18 (39:24):
Yeah. My rule is that it either has to be
a new release or new to me.

Speaker 5 (39:29):
Or new to you, okay, m yeah, and that includes
classic movies that you just haven't seen yet.

Speaker 6 (39:33):
Do you take suggestions from people around?

Speaker 3 (39:35):
And?

Speaker 5 (39:35):
Absolutely?

Speaker 6 (39:36):
Literally?

Speaker 18 (39:37):
This last month I watched two movies that I would
not have watched otherwise.

Speaker 6 (39:40):
And what were they?

Speaker 18 (39:41):
Do you remember a Rental Family? And Perfect Days.

Speaker 7 (39:44):
Was Rental Family because Brendan Fraser was Oscar talk for
that performance.

Speaker 18 (39:48):
It was so good. He honestly made that film. I
don't think the movie would have worked without him.

Speaker 5 (39:53):
Really.

Speaker 7 (39:53):
Yeah, I wirst to see it just because of all
the buzz around it.

Speaker 18 (39:56):
It's good you can stream it.

Speaker 6 (39:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 16 (39:58):
Cool.

Speaker 5 (39:58):
Do you have a favorite genre?

Speaker 18 (40:00):
Oh, gosh, probably mom comms, really know, if I had
like if I had to, yeah, or romance drama.

Speaker 8 (40:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (40:08):
I like mystery thrillers a lot. I find myself, like,
I find myself gravitating toward that. Uh, the Jason Bourne
kind of mystery, CIA espionage kind of thriller thing.

Speaker 6 (40:19):
I love those.

Speaker 18 (40:20):
Do you have a favorite movie?

Speaker 5 (40:21):
No Country for Old Men is and uh and then
Silence of the Lambs because.

Speaker 18 (40:25):
It's perfect deleted scenes, but yeah, they just think it
was week before last. Yeah you missed it?

Speaker 5 (40:30):
How about yours, I'll find it's.

Speaker 6 (40:35):
The night vision part at the end.

Speaker 5 (40:37):
It's now an Instagram filter instead of night visions, so
everyone has dog gear.

Speaker 4 (40:40):
I still think I still think some of the transitions
that they did the movie toward the end of that movie,
when they were starting going to figure everything out, were
some of the best in movie history. I mean, it
proves because it's one of what five or six films
to win all of the big awards at the Oscars.

Speaker 5 (40:53):
I mean it is right up there. Yeah one, well,
it's right up there.

Speaker 4 (40:56):
Would and flew over the Cuckoo's Nest, African Queen, movies
of that nature.

Speaker 6 (40:59):
Emily, some time I have a hard time, like I've
seen a movie and then they'll reference it. I'm like,
I don't even remember half of this stuff. How do
you prevent that from happening? Like do you document? Like
will you write down a review or do you just
do you record videos? Or is it social? How do
you kind of record what your reviews are for the
films you see or do you record it?

Speaker 18 (41:20):
So what I've been doing in order to log is
I have a letter box. It's m retro reels and
so as soon as the movie's over, I will immediately
put in my review and then I'll log it just
so I have something to show. Otherwise I would probably
forget and then at the end of every month, like
I just posted to my own like personal Instagram what

(41:41):
my recap is. And usually it's no more than maybe
a minute per movie of my general thoughts. But usually
it's just whatever I can remember. If there's something really important,
maybe I'll write it down on my phone after if
there was a quote I really liked or something, But
I don't know, I just let it flow.

Speaker 5 (41:55):
Yeah, Jim, do you know about letterboxed? I don't know
about that. I mean, I know what letterbox is is.
It's the format in which movies are shot, right, but
it's also a site, a social site where people review movies.
I did not know about that. Now, Yeah, there's a
whole movie community really.

Speaker 6 (42:09):
On an app.

Speaker 5 (42:10):
It's called letterbox and everyone's commenting on what you think
and all this. It's a really cool community.

Speaker 4 (42:16):
Do you have a favorite or I mean, I know
it's hard to ask a movie lever what their favorite is.
From genre to genre. It can change.

Speaker 18 (42:21):
Yeah, it really is hard to pick all. I kind
of like to equate it as if it's whatever I'm
currently obsessed with. However, if I have to pick one,
it would probably be Lola Land.

Speaker 5 (42:30):
Oh really, that's pretty current for a movie.

Speaker 6 (42:33):
A best Yeah? Wow?

Speaker 4 (42:35):
Is it just because it's a musical and you're like,
because you maybe are in that world, you think maybe
affect your opinion.

Speaker 18 (42:40):
I think it's a little bit of everything. Yeah, it's
a musical that's about movies. There's a lot of homages
to old gold any Hollywood films which I grew up
watching alongside my animated films. So there's a lot of
nostalgia there. It's a colorful film, it's sad, it's funny.

Speaker 6 (42:56):
I don't know.

Speaker 18 (42:56):
It has everything.

Speaker 6 (42:57):
I love that. Okay, well let's get to some of
these reviews.

Speaker 5 (42:59):
Okay, so say we're gonna do a bad movie, a
good movie, and then a suggestion for streaming. Great, you
can do that in whatever order you like.

Speaker 18 (43:06):
Here, I'm gonna start with my bad movie because I
have a lot to say about it. I this last
weekend I watched Animal Farm at the local AMC. And
yes it's animal Farm as in like the George or
well yeah, yes, yes, and it's been it's come out
before over the years, you know, there's been a couple

(43:26):
animated films, and I thought this had so much promise
because it's a stacked cast. In fact, like this isn't
even everybody, but this is just a few people that
are in it. There's Seth Rogan, Gatton Modarazzo, Waddy Harrelson,
Glenn Close, Karen Colkin, and then it's directed by Andy
serkis so like on paper, I'm like, ooh, a reimagining

(43:47):
of a classic novel. There's all these amazing people attached
to it. Surely it's gonna be great. It was so bad.

Speaker 5 (43:55):
I heard they muted the real kind of definition of
what the book was for, and they really took all
of the controversy out of it and really kind of
dumbed it down.

Speaker 18 (44:04):
Dumbed it down. I'm not exaggerating. There was a fart
joke twenty minutes into the movie. Oh, Georgia orwell, I'm
sure is rolling in his grave. It was so and
then even on top of that, it just wasn't a
well produced film, Like the animation wasn't great. It yeah,
like there's there's a cyber truck in there.

Speaker 6 (44:24):
Why you just killed it for me?

Speaker 4 (44:30):
You literally just took it out back like an old
dog and just shot in the back of the.

Speaker 18 (44:34):
Oh at what they would call the laughterhouse. That's also
a joke that they have. The guys were going to
the Laughterhouse and then they like closed the door and
it's the slaughterhouse. Oh no, Yeah, it's really really bad.

Speaker 6 (44:45):
Wow.

Speaker 9 (44:45):
One of the.

Speaker 18 (44:46):
Letterbox reviews just you know, to put a pin on
this is because I love reading the letterbox reviews. They're
very funny on there, and I think the summarizes it perfectly.
It says, uh, this is a faithful adaptation of Orwell's
animal Farm to the extent that our animals and there
is a farm. All I have to say.

Speaker 6 (45:05):
About comparisons come to a screeching right after that. I
love it. This is like an over the Hedge animation, right, yes, yeah,
that's odd, so crazy, and it's you know.

Speaker 4 (45:16):
The other thing I read about it was it seemed
like they kind of forced it out, almost like they
get the cast to agree to it and then really
didn't know what to do from there and then just
kind of shoved it out the door.

Speaker 6 (45:25):
That's that's what another reviewer I read said about.

Speaker 18 (45:27):
Yeah, please don't waste your time on very good your money? No, no, okay?
So am I good to move on to the one?

Speaker 12 (45:34):
I like?

Speaker 18 (45:35):
Yeah, they agree?

Speaker 7 (45:36):
So uh.

Speaker 18 (45:37):
The one movie from April I really enjoyed is the Drama.
Have you seen any of the marketing that was happening.

Speaker 5 (45:44):
With that remind me of the premise because I think
I have there.

Speaker 18 (45:48):
Okay, the marketing left a lot in the dark. It's
an A twenty four film starting starring Rob Pattinson and Zindia.
Oh yes, and all of the marketing marketing was like
you're invited to the wedding. So it's about this couple
and they are ramping up for their wedding happening in days.
They have this little dinner date with another couple and

(46:09):
the couple's like, you know what, before we got married,
we said the worst thing we've ever done to each
other before we got married, just to put it all
on the table. So they all go around and say
the worst thing they've ever done.

Speaker 6 (46:19):
I would never I couldn't do that.

Speaker 18 (46:21):
Yeah, it's ready already a horror film.

Speaker 5 (46:26):
That's why I just pick up the tab and haul ass.
I'm like, I got this, guys, We're gonna get out
of here.

Speaker 6 (46:32):
We're gonna go to the whorehouse.

Speaker 3 (46:33):
We'll be going.

Speaker 18 (46:35):
So it finally gets to Zendaya and everything stops because
she's dat.

Speaker 6 (46:43):
It's really weird. You think the is weird.

Speaker 5 (46:46):
That's weird, and I I don't.

Speaker 18 (46:49):
Know if I want to spoil anything because it is
a really good film, and I don't want to spoil.

Speaker 6 (46:54):
Yeah, don't, don't.

Speaker 18 (46:56):
I won't. It's shocking, it is, and it creates a
lot of I mean, it becomes the driving force for
the entire film because then Rob Pattins's character is trying
to come to terms with well, why did this person
keep this from me? It makes him start going crazy,
fantasizing things, conversations that happen and don't happen.

Speaker 5 (47:16):
So it is like a psychological thriller.

Speaker 18 (47:19):
And also a romantic comedy.

Speaker 7 (47:20):
I don't know how else it twenty twenty six. It
will eventually make sense.

Speaker 18 (47:25):
It has, in its own weird way, a happy ending.

Speaker 5 (47:30):
Okay, yeah is this. I have to go the theater
to see this right now.

Speaker 18 (47:33):
Right now, But honestly, give it a couple months. It'll
probably go to streaming. I will say, if if anything
could be potentially triggering for you, wait until it goes
on a streaming. I really really hope that they add
a trigger warning to this because really, yes, because what
is revealed was pretty shocking.

Speaker 5 (47:53):
Oh really, who else wants to say?

Speaker 6 (47:56):
This movie right out of here?

Speaker 5 (47:57):
Let's get out of here now, there's gonna be I'm
playing somewhere at.

Speaker 18 (48:03):
Yeah, I will say Rob Pattinson really shines in it,
though I think I think.

Speaker 4 (48:08):
He's a grossly underrated actor. And yeah, I think he
is because we saw the war movie. Yeah, and he
was unbelievably good.

Speaker 5 (48:16):
In that he's got both streams going with them, with
the mainstream audience of Triple A budgets, those production companies
will trust him. But A twenty four is where this
guy's wings spread. He's done so many small budget movies
that's just showcasing him as an actor, and it works everything.

Speaker 4 (48:33):
That weird one that was like based on a video
game or something where he kept like getting killed and.

Speaker 6 (48:37):
Coming back or whatever.

Speaker 5 (48:38):
Yes, seventeen, Yeah, Micky's seventeen.

Speaker 6 (48:39):
We saw that.

Speaker 4 (48:40):
I was like, Okay, well, not my kind of movie,
but his performance and it was really good and he
was He has successfully kind of shaken that Twilight thing,
which a lot of people have had a hard time
shaking those those roles that really put him into a
thing where people only know you as the dude from Twilight.

Speaker 18 (48:55):
And so yeah, I mean, he admittedly hates Twilight, but
I think he's come to terms of it now that
he's removed himself enough from it.

Speaker 5 (49:03):
I'll throw this out here about Emily because she brought
up brom comms, she brought about the drama. She's also
the person that made me watch the movie The Substance,
which is the most graphic night I've ever had in
my entire life. So it's not just rom comms that
I will lean on Emily more and she'll tell me
about other movies, movies that have never left me. And
it's the first thing I think of when I wake up,

(49:24):
And you lived in an apartment with eight drug addicts.
So that's saying a lot.

Speaker 6 (49:27):
Sure.

Speaker 5 (49:28):
And by the way, we're talking to Emily the movie girl.
You can check it out right now at Jim Corbertlive
dot com. Hopefully she'll rejoin us and talk about some movies.
We love doing this, so we appreciate you spending a
little time with us.

Speaker 6 (49:38):
Now.

Speaker 4 (49:38):
I heard the other part is a streaming recommendation. Okay,
now hold it before you start.

Speaker 6 (49:43):
Now one again.

Speaker 5 (49:44):
Yeah, this is maybe the most important thing you're gonna
do on this, And I'll tell you why, because we
talk about streaming movies and shows and things that are
happening all the time. Because our audience is the same thing. Like,
you know, they work hard, they go home, they have
a couple hours a night, and when you introduce something
them that they can like just kind of click on
and watch, like, that's a big positive. And when I

(50:05):
say them, I mean you're talking to me like I'm
always looking for something streaming that I would usually skip
through that somebody like you can go out and find
and like go and say, you know, hey, look if
you have to skip by this, you're gonna stop and
see it.

Speaker 6 (50:19):
So I can also keep in mind that you heavily
recommended the substance, and Jim has admittedly in the break
said that he knows the recommendation came in and chose
not to watch.

Speaker 5 (50:29):
That A weird DEMI more block.

Speaker 6 (50:30):
We'll talk about it later.

Speaker 18 (50:32):
Okay, I if I have to pick one movie, it's
not a straight to streaming movie, but it just dropped.
It was the last week of April, and I believe
it's on Hulu. No other choice. It's a South Korean
film that came out earlier this year that, in my opinion,
got completely snubbed at the Oscars this year. It's very good.

(50:54):
It's about this guy that has been working at a
paper company for twenty five years gets laid off and
then he decides to off who he believes are his
job competitors to get this next job.

Speaker 5 (51:04):
How about this for a genre, Jim, It's a South
Korean black comedy thriller.

Speaker 6 (51:11):
Oh really, I don't. I didn't.

Speaker 5 (51:12):
I didn't know South Korean comedies could be black comedies, which.

Speaker 6 (51:19):
Bad.

Speaker 5 (51:19):
Yeah, but yeah, that is a genre. Also ninety on
Rotten Tomatoes. I have never heard of the movie. No
other choice.

Speaker 18 (51:28):
Yeah, it's it's really good. I know it's a big
ask because it's an international film, so you know you
have Yeah, you have to read the subtitles. He doesn't read. Okay,
you have to read.

Speaker 7 (51:40):
Say that again. That beautiful, Emily. I want you to
come back every week.

Speaker 18 (51:45):
No, this is what's wrong with streaming.

Speaker 5 (51:47):
You know you just said to me. You know what
you just said to me. You just looked at me
and said you know what you should work out. That's
what you just said to me.

Speaker 6 (51:56):
You know what you just said to me. He's like,
you know what you should have you lay off the
fried food.

Speaker 4 (52:00):
That's what you just said to me. I just I
will watch it with the subtitles. I'm not terribly against it,
but I will do it.

Speaker 6 (52:08):
Okay.

Speaker 18 (52:08):
There is another movie that is coming out this weekend
on streaming that I'm excited for, so don't have an
opinion on it yet, but it's called Oh my gosh,
Bright Remarkable Creatures, Bright Remarkable Creatures.

Speaker 5 (52:21):
Yes.

Speaker 18 (52:21):
Yes, it's based off of a novel of the same name.
I remember reading it. I believe it was either last
year or a year before last. It's about this old
janitor woman that works at an aquarium and she befriends
the octopus. But the chapters are really interesting because it
goes back and forth between her point of view and
octopus's point of view, so it's like the octopus narrative. Yeah, yeah, interesting, Yeah, yeah,

(52:44):
it's very to the chase.

Speaker 6 (52:45):
You want to know, we'll be blackouse horrins in it,
you won't, you know what?

Speaker 18 (52:50):
You won't need subtitles for that one.

Speaker 7 (52:52):
I don't think, Oh, look at that.

Speaker 6 (52:55):
There you go. What's the name of the octopost one?
I want to watch that one.

Speaker 18 (53:00):
Bright remarkable creatures or remarkably great creatures, something like that.

Speaker 5 (53:05):
Remarkably bright creatures. It's also got Sally Field. Does it
really crazy? I want to ask you a quick question.
We really like her before we get you out of here. Right,
I'm feel a little low. Let's go walk the mall.
That was a soap dish reference, by the way. So
I want to ask you. Did you see the latest
Sydney Sweeney movie, the one with where she's like a
nanny or something.

Speaker 19 (53:25):
Oh?

Speaker 18 (53:26):
Yes, can I ask the housemaid?

Speaker 6 (53:28):
Yeah, the house Maid? Did you care for that at all? No?
You did not. No, I gotta tell you, I just
a little.

Speaker 4 (53:33):
I thought that was a surprisingly much better movie than
I thought it was going to be because of her
and and how she's been framed like in America. I
didn't think it was all that bad at all. And
it's so funny. I told my daughter that she goes
really and I said, we watched it. Actually didn't think
it was terrible.

Speaker 18 (53:49):
I mean, I love Amanda Sea Freed amazing. Yeah, yeah,
she's really fantastic. I don't know, Sidney Sney was just
kind of there.

Speaker 4 (53:58):
I agree with that, but I thought the story in
the premise was good and I and I do think
a man to say for really kind of made the movie.

Speaker 18 (54:03):
But here's a book that ever, it's pretty good.

Speaker 6 (54:06):
Yeah, but that's basically long subtitles. That's analog subtitles, a
lot of it. You know what you just asked me
to do. Well, Emily, I appreciate it so much. This
has been a blast, and I hope you can find
some time to rejoin us. It doesn't have to be
in studio every time. We can do this via a
video or zoom if you If you can't make it,
but we would love to have you.

Speaker 5 (54:27):
This has been ala. I hope you've had a good time.

Speaker 18 (54:28):
Oh, this has been so much fun.

Speaker 5 (54:29):
Thank you, awesome, good laugh for Emily.

Speaker 6 (54:31):
What do you say? Where can people find you? In
letterbox again?

Speaker 5 (54:36):
M retro reels m retro reels on letterbox if you
want to find out what Emily has to say about
other movies and other projects coming up, and hopefully we'll
see you next week.

Speaker 18 (54:45):
You have Instagram, I do, but it's my name, so
it's going to be hard to spell ye, it's.

Speaker 5 (54:51):
Silent geez and there's an F and there's a math signal.
I don't know that is.

We love talking about movies and TV shows and stuff
like that, and somebody who was so like completely dedicated

(56:22):
to it would be a nice addition.

Speaker 5 (56:23):
I couldn't agree more. It's I know she has helped
me out so much when it comes to what to watch.
Her recommendations have always nailed it for me because she
kind of knows what I'm into and how far I'll go.

Speaker 6 (56:37):
So she is bad at a thousand.

Speaker 5 (56:38):
I'm so happy that you guys trusted me to be like, hey,
I actually know a movie reviewer. Yeah yeah, yeah, she's
good man and really cool as well. Do you remember
like back in the day, there's always like you kind
of knew what to watch Sundays at NBC. It's go
time we leaned.

Speaker 4 (56:55):
On something completely different to find out the movies that
we thought were gonna mean winners and not losers.

Speaker 6 (57:01):
What movies.

Speaker 4 (57:02):
Yeah, cis and Baby, Yeah yeah, the Chicago Sun Times
and the Chicago Tribune. Those guys would get together and
they did a thing called well Ciskel and Ebert and
at the Movies, and they would go through like four
or five movies or the ones that were being released
that week, and they would give their uh it was
it was the thumbs up. It was thumbs up or

(57:23):
thumbs down. And they would get like like verbal altercations
while doing it and call each other names and stuff.
It was great because they were competitors, like they wrote
for opposite papers, but did the show together.

Speaker 6 (57:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (57:36):
Yeah, And if you missed Emily's movie reviews, I just
posted our podcast to the Jim Culpers.

Speaker 6 (57:41):
Nice. Thanks appreciate that.

Speaker 5 (57:43):
I'm so curious what movies they got wrong now that
enough time.

Speaker 6 (57:47):
Is past and you could go back. I think I
think they hated pulp fiction. I don't know. There's some
you can go back and, yeah, there are a number
of the they just didn't strike their fancy. Yeah yeah,
And you can get a number of the movie can
make money and still be a bad film, and we've
seen that a ton, and they wouldn't always agree. Yeah, yeah,
they well, yeah, they they agree, but it can also
be a level of that too. Oh when they hated

(58:08):
it and they really disagree, they really disagreed. There's video
of them cutting promos from behind the scenes stuff and
they are literally like almost at like fists. I mean,
it's they're getting that. It's it's a weirder time now.
When you sit down and you know, so you put
on your TV, like I'll do it tonight at probably
around eight o'clock, and you have to pick, okay, what

(58:29):
service to see what show is on? And you spend
all this time scrolling and you're on your different streaming platforms.
So it's like, I have Peacock for two more weeks,
so I want to watch something on there. And then
it's sometimes you forget things you're watching. I started Marco's
Got Money Troubles or money problems? Yeah, what do you

(58:50):
think about it? That's good?

Speaker 9 (58:51):
I like it.

Speaker 6 (58:51):
I'm two episodes in, Oh.

Speaker 5 (58:52):
You're not even yeah you got Once you get to
about the fourth episode, you're gonna be like, what in
the hell?

Speaker 4 (58:57):
And then the last time is only drop it every Wednesday, dude.
This last one was heavy, I mean heavy weird for Offerman,
but super heavy, but really good, super well written ship.
I Fifer kills it.

Speaker 5 (59:10):
By the way, Cisco and Ebert, they gave two thumbs
down to the thing Yeah Yeah, John.

Speaker 4 (59:16):
Carpenter's Yeah, which is one of the scariest thrillers of
all time.

Speaker 5 (59:19):
It's now regarded as like like everyone's top ten horror film.
Really yeah yeah yeah, Kurt Russell or their most infamous
worst review is so I can't even say it without laughing.
They gave two thumbs up to Speed two Cruise Control
nineteen ninety seven, and that is looked at as their
big rock bottom moment where they swung and miss. I

(59:41):
think also, I think Ciskel actually helped write Roger Ebert
actually helped write Valley of the Dolls. I think he
was He was a screenwriter in that in that sense
as well. And uh yeah, interesting stuff and didn't something
bad happened? They got cancer and his jaw fell off. Okay, yeah,
the Ebert guy got answer, but like jaw cancer.

Speaker 6 (01:00:02):
Because he was on television for so many years, they
had so much audio. Computer company created a database so
he still did the show. No of his voice so
he could communicate because he couldn't talk anymore. But he
had so much recording of his voice. They developed the
computer program where he kind of had a hot button
where he could type things and say things and it

(01:00:23):
would be in his voice. And he was a dick.

Speaker 4 (01:00:27):
I mean, he was like, he was like he seemed
to be mean just for the sake of being mean.

Speaker 6 (01:00:33):
So he still reviewed movies after he lost his jaw
yea like Jack said, he got a Stephen Hawking machine,
but would they would he still do the thumbs down there?

Speaker 5 (01:00:41):
But it sounded more like thumbs down.

Speaker 7 (01:00:45):
So that Something else you don't know about him is
that he's the reason why Oprah had a syndicated television show.
Way really they dated?

Speaker 6 (01:00:54):
Oh wow?

Speaker 5 (01:00:55):
Really?

Speaker 7 (01:00:56):
Yeah, they dated, And while they were dating, he had
told her, listen with what you're going to do is
you need to get a syndication deal. Wow, you take
your show into syndication. And he talked her into going
into syndication. And that's why we have Oprah Winfrey today.

Speaker 4 (01:01:11):
Unbelievable. Yeah, they're both Chicago based. That makes perfect sense.
How crazy is that?

Speaker 5 (01:01:15):
I am in love of finding out these Cisco and
Ebert reviews that just they did not get right.

Speaker 4 (01:01:21):
Dude, I'm telling you during the break you have to
YouTube their arguments or when they're cutting these promos and
they and they make mistakes and they start calling each
other out each other out. It is the greatest. It's
like an old married couple who just hate each other,
and but they're in the same house and they're not
going anywhere because there's not more able to go, and
they're just stuck with each other because that machine was

(01:01:41):
very successful, and they both couldn't leave and do anything
on their own because nobody cared about what they thought
about by themselves. It was just how they interacted on
the show, like they weren't very radio. I mean, I
can't I understand if Blade Runner isn't for everyone. Yeah,
but at the very least, I hope everyone can at
least respect Blade Run because it is such a great film,

(01:02:02):
especially for that time. But yeah, they give it a
mixed review, and it's like adult Star Wars. It's it's
rated All Star Wars all right four O seven nine

Guys, that is your Papa block keyword.

Speaker 6 (01:04:40):
Good luck. I'm Jim.

Speaker 4 (01:04:41):
There's deb Hello, Jack and sauce Daddy on a Monday welcome,
So we'll get him on Thursday as well, and then
off you go.

Speaker 6 (01:04:49):
Yep, are you doing stand up this weekend or.

Speaker 5 (01:04:51):
Not this weekend? We honestly, what I'm doing is working
for the Pride on Friday. But I can tell you
may third Melbourne pineapples very nice.

Speaker 4 (01:05:00):
And I know we have some big news coming up here.
People already asking when's Brandon coming in because obviously the
Magic news over the weekend wasn't the greatest, but we
did have some good Orlando sports news and we'll talk
about that a little bit later. Oh god, right at
the end, I was ready to go, yeah, all right.
So I don't know if you guys remember this case,
because the case has already happened, But you guys remember

(01:05:21):
this guy or this woman who was raped in her
apartment as she was in the middle of moving out.
The guy's name is Kevin Johnson, the guy who did it.
He had the dreads the whole line. There's a famous,
much or not much a shot of him sitting on
the ground, you know, handcuffed, and it was a really
really big story. How long ago was that deb do
you remember?

Speaker 6 (01:05:39):
Oh?

Speaker 7 (01:05:40):
Just been a few months, yeah, a few months ago, right, Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:05:43):
So now there's an interesting case that's happening because the
woman who was raped at Addison Cove Apartments over in
Merritt Island. For you guys on the coast and maybe
know where that is, you're welcome to send us a
text and give us an idea of what that's like.
So here's what happened. So this guy was a convicted felon,
he was on per obation and he was squatting on
the property like he was living in. They say an

(01:06:04):
open room. I don't know what that means, maybe a
laundry area or maybe I don't know, I don't know
where that is. Just it was an open room they said, yeah,
And didn't say it was an open apartment or anything
like that.

Speaker 5 (01:06:15):
Just a space any the mailboxes.

Speaker 4 (01:06:18):
It could have been a utility room that they were
being that maybe did the door didn't lock or whatever.
But apparently he was known to be there and the
complex knew he was being there. She actually was moving
out because of him because she didn't feel safe because
he was on property. Then he rapes her. She's suing
the apartment complex. Yeah, and she says, now you have

(01:06:40):
she goes it says here that a woman raped her
apartment while she was in the middle of moving out
because she didn't feel safe. Is now suing Addison Cobe
Apartments because our attorneys say Kevin Johnson, a convicted fella
on probation, wasn't a tenant, but still stayed in the
complex for months while he was squatting in an open room,
and it says the merit I Community correspondent James Spavero

(01:07:02):
asked the victim how she felt when she learned the
suspect was squatting in her building, and she says, angry
that anyone would allow that to happen, just like understanding
basic security. And of course we've talked about apartment complexes
and people who have access to that master key before
because of that terrible tragedy that happened on here in Orlando,
and this is kind of in that same line, like
the complex had an idea that this guy was unsavory

(01:07:23):
and on their property and did nothing to it and
a woman got raped because of it.

Speaker 7 (01:07:27):
I wonder how many people were evicted for not paying
their rent while they had to walk by the squatter.

Speaker 6 (01:07:31):
Oh yeah, yeah, no, Joe.

Speaker 5 (01:07:33):
And it seems like not because a squatter insinuates like
a home and this open room, like if it's well,
I mean squatting, If it's just like a mailbox thing, yeah,
it's private property.

Speaker 6 (01:07:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:07:45):
In other words, if somebody was living underneath that thing
that's downstairs that used to be the bank drive through,
if somebody was living under that during the you doing tonight,
that's squatting on the property. And you know there's set
up camp and they're they're you know, I don't know.
That's a great question, though, Jack, do people who if
people are who are homeless living intents outside on a
public like on a sidewalk, is that squatting. Well, doesn't

(01:08:06):
have to be on a piece of private property for
to be squatting.

Speaker 7 (01:08:10):
I will look up the definition of squatting.

Speaker 6 (01:08:11):
I think.

Speaker 5 (01:08:13):
I think it has to be like on a piece
of private property. I don't think you can squat on
public property.

Speaker 6 (01:08:18):
I think you.

Speaker 5 (01:08:18):
Justtering, yeah, trespassing or lowering it, says. Two current tenants
said that new management since the attack has made improvements.

Speaker 6 (01:08:28):
That's good.

Speaker 4 (01:08:29):
The victim was picked up for the first time, said
she complained to the office before what happened to her.
I was proactive and leaving a dangerous environment and trying
my best to do everything right, and that just kind
of failed me. And this guy is still in jail
with no bond. The new management did not want to
respond to the lawsuit because they said they weren't here
at the time. In other words, I guess the apartment

(01:08:50):
compunx has been sold since then. I don't think that.

Speaker 7 (01:08:53):
I don't think that that's not going to exonerate the
former owners from from their responsibility.

Speaker 5 (01:08:58):
Right, Yeah, I think that would still continue, okay, And
how appropriate?

Speaker 6 (01:09:02):
Is that just a coincidence?

Speaker 7 (01:09:03):
Probably not?

Speaker 5 (01:09:05):
They sold it.

Speaker 7 (01:09:06):
By the way, squatting, as it refers to property occupancy,
is settling on or inhabiting land or buildings, particularly abandoned property,
without title right or permission from the owner.

Speaker 6 (01:09:18):
And some of the.

Speaker 4 (01:09:19):
Laws around that in this state are crazy, right, I
think even nationally, Right, haven't we seen stories where people
like go in and they squat and then they just
you can't get the property. You have to go through
the entire eviction process. My wife dealt with this during
the eight downturn because she was doing bank rep properties.
That was kind of a business. We were doing a
little bit and we would go clear these houses. I've

(01:09:41):
told you guys about this one hundred times. House abandoned.
Bank gives us the thing, says, hey, go change the locks,
make sure the windows are solid, make sure there's nobody
in there.

Speaker 6 (01:09:49):
Whatever.

Speaker 4 (01:09:50):
And we remember she remembers a case in Windermere. This
guy squatted in a Windermere property for seven years, not
pay the power bill or no had to pay the
power in the water bill, but that's all. Never paid
the mortgage. They couldn't get him out because every time
they went to do this, he went through some process

(01:10:10):
legally that allowed him to stay for another eight months
or nine months or whatever. And she said, it took
like forever to get this guy to out. The owner
lost hundreds of thousands of dollars because it was a
really nice piece of property and it's just kind of wild.
We saw it a lot in Kassimi. I mean, entire
neighborhoods were being abandoned because nobody could pay for the
homes and people were just kind of moving in.

Speaker 7 (01:10:32):
If you remember, it was kind of like a social
media trend last year where influencers would take over abandoned mansions.
Oh yeah, and just squatting the mansions like you know,
you'd see you know, paparazzi taking photos and videos of them,
and you know they're just holding up in the mansion.

Speaker 6 (01:10:47):
Pacific Heights, the movie with Michael Keaton. Oh yeah, yeah,
and he kind of terror It was a thriller, but
he terrorized him. But he used every legal loophole, so
you couldn't a victim, right, right, right, He knew all
the laws. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:11:00):
And do you remember the case that we did where
we were talking about a squatter's case and there's that
guy and I think they featured this dude in sixty
minutes and they called him this He calls himself the
Squatterbuster or something like that.

Speaker 6 (01:11:12):
And did you remember this ross? What did he have
like a baseball back?

Speaker 5 (01:11:15):
Do you know how he got rid of squatters? No, brilliant?
Do you remember this?

Speaker 7 (01:11:18):
I don't, But if it's anything like what I've seen
on the on the gram, this is pretty clever.

Speaker 4 (01:11:23):
This is this guy's thing, right because I guess his
mom went through this, or his sister or something went
through this, and it changed his entire life. Where somebody's
squatted in his mom's or his sister's property, and they
had to go through a complete legal nightmare, costing them
thousands of dollars to get this person out. Well, this
guy does is he just goes up and squat's in
the house with him and then becomes unbearable.

Speaker 6 (01:11:45):
That's awesome.

Speaker 4 (01:11:45):
He moves into the squatterhouse like because he just walks in.
He's a big dude six three two twenty five two
thirty and he looks like he doesn't care if he
lives or not. He's got that look about him. Hey,
that real grundy kind of look like, you know, I'm
gonna do some stuff today and whatever happens to happen
kind of thing.

Speaker 5 (01:12:00):
You're gonna need that look to beat fire with fire,
right right. And he goes into the squatter's house. He
moves in and then he starts playing hystereo as loud
as possible, doesn't flush the toilet, leaves all the windows open,
you know, it eats all the food out of the fridge,
I mean, sell stuff inside that. It just basically makes
their life, the squatter's life, a living nightmare, and they

(01:12:23):
wind up moving out. Then he changes all the locks
and the property goes back to the owner.

Speaker 7 (01:12:26):
The one that I had seen was he just nails
the door shut so they can't get out, so they
can't get out. They can't get out, and you can
hear him on the other side of the door, like,
what deff are you doing, dude.

Speaker 4 (01:12:36):
I'm telling you dealing with them. If you're a regular
logical person and you deal with some of these people
and their mentality about and you think it's a bunch
of bums, it's not the ones we dealt with. And
they're only two. One was kind of a bummy guy,
but the other one was a woman and she had
like kids and like had had been married before and
had a car and like had a job at one point.

(01:12:58):
I mean, she was just like if you saw on
the street, like our shopping in the store, you just think, oh,
there's just an everyday girl. And she was a squatter.

Speaker 6 (01:13:05):
She'd done this.

Speaker 5 (01:13:06):
It's like a gypsy kind of thing. I know it's
a bad term, but it was kind of like a
you know, just a scammer. So we in Florida, we
passed house bills six' two one in twenty twenty, four
which really turned up the state's aggression when it comes
to squatters and, LISTEN i love WHENEVER i get an
opportunity to break the stereotype of my political. PARTY i have,
never never understood the term squatters'. Rights, yeah, YEAH i

(01:13:33):
it doesn't. Compute they shouldn't be, there.

Speaker 6 (01:13:35):
They're no, Right, yeah there should be no. RIGHTS i.

Speaker 5 (01:13:37):
Don't it's it's an old term, though, Right like if
you found a piece of land that wasn't being used or,
whatever you just stayed there long enough and you got
credit for owning it or, something they would let you
stake acclaim or.

Speaker 6 (01:13:47):
Something no one kicked me off.

Speaker 7 (01:13:48):
Yet, yeah somebody just texted us at seven seven zero three.
One that apartment building has changed owners name several times
over the years to escape the bad reputation that it's always.
HAD i have lived over here almost my entire, life
and WHEN i work for a certain cable company and
a call would come through for that, building none of
us wanted to take it because it was such a
nasty building with bad people living in really yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:14:10):
Yeah and what sucks is a lot of people don't
have any other opportunities to rent anywhere else because it's
so expensive to rent. Anywhere you wind. Up sometimes if
you're kind of down on your luck a little, bit
have to roll the dice and move into some of
these sketchy places just so you can afford a roof
over your.

Speaker 7 (01:14:24):
HEAD i, MEAN i know that they're getting ready to
unveil quote unquote affordable housing over in The paramour, area
where the asking, price the starting asking price for what
they're calling affordable housing in The paramour area is three
hundred and eighty thousand, dollars which is.

Speaker 6 (01:14:39):
Insane it's.

Speaker 7 (01:14:40):
INSANE i, MEAN i don't qualify for a three hundred
and eighty thousand dollars.

Speaker 5 (01:14:44):
Home.

Speaker 4 (01:14:44):
You my first really nice place after making a little
money in my house was was less than double. That,
YEAH i, Mean i'm telling you was it. Was that's
double WHAT i paid for the house In maitland after
like and that's back in the like mid two thousands
or early two. Thousands, crazy it, Is it's.

Speaker 6 (01:15:00):
Crazy, Yeah i's wild that you said, that that tech said,
that like that community that apart is it an apartment
complex apartment? Comte?

Speaker 5 (01:15:06):
Yeah, YEAH i could point to you towards the apartment

they have fans and stuff away from the. Weather don't,

(01:20:03):
care presspass. Them they sleep in the backyard back of
the complex and cars trespass, them doesn't.

Speaker 5 (01:20:09):
Matter you know what's funny, buddy IS i read a.
Story as a matter of, FACT i Believe deb AND
i talked about this not far from where we, are
right here In, maitland right up the street In, altamont
there's an apartment complex that had to deal with some
of this as. Well and one of the problems they
had is, is if you Remember, deb the complex backed
up against a piece of property that hadn't been, developed
and they and there's a little encampment that started there

(01:20:32):
where you, know people were like kind of getting to
get kind of like that what's that place over in Maryd.

Speaker 4 (01:20:36):
Island it's dealing with this. Compound the compound it kind
of started becoming. That and that's exactly what this guy, Did.
Buddy he called the cops and he, GOES i want
every one of them. TRESPASSED i want their name on the.
Record so you're doing the right.

Speaker 9 (01:20:47):
Thing, Yeah, no it makes makes everybody feel.

Speaker 6 (01:20:51):
Safer, yeah but it. Does thank you very.

Speaker 4 (01:20:53):
MUCH i appreciate, that. Man all, right seven seven zero three.
One that's how you text.

Speaker 5 (01:20:57):
Us and speaking of, TEXT i got a LITTLE i
got a, Question, Joe, yes, sir, okay this is about text,
etiquette which we know THAT i AM i, mean when
it comes to, THAT i think that we can all.
AGREE i, shine, yes without, it you are in a
league of your, own a class of your.

Speaker 6 (01:21:13):
Own there you, Go thank, You, JACK i appreciate that you.
Agree Deb. Sure yeah, Yeah ross like like your own. Basement,
well well you're just saying you're, isolated you're one of a. Kind,
well let me ask a, question BECAUSE i actually apologized
To ross today when he came.

Speaker 5 (01:21:29):
In, yeah is this? TRUE i apologize To? Ross CAN
i ask, you guys a, question if you send me
a long ass.

Speaker 7 (01:21:40):
Text we've all done, it.

Speaker 4 (01:21:42):
Okay and if you send ME i didn't ask you
to pipe in so. Quickly if you send me a
long ass, text or let me just let me just
say it this, way not necessarily.

Speaker 6 (01:21:54):
Me let's leave me out of.

Speaker 3 (01:21:55):
This.

Speaker 5 (01:21:55):
Right let's just, say if you send someone a long,
text what kind of response do you?

Speaker 6 (01:22:00):
Expect do you?

Speaker 5 (01:22:03):
BELIEVE i, mean What i'm trying to ask is this
if you go off and you and you're kind of
getting into this. Right ross texted me this morning and he,
said or at last night and he, goes, hey look
CAN i come in On? Monday blah blah blah, blah blah,
this and then the other da da da da da
da da da da, Da and he's laying out this
long reason why he wants to come In monday and
and and then be Off. Friday and it was on
and my answer And i'm not. Serious i'm dead.

Speaker 4 (01:22:25):
Serious the text was like one of those where you
think something really serious is being, said, right, yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:22:29):
Yeah my, response now you're any right, no, no. Ye
my response was, yes, yeah that's. It he sent me
this long ass text AND i simply said. Yes and
then he text back, cool AND i, said, oh he
probably THOUGHT i was being a dick BECAUSE i only
send him one word, back and he took the time
to explain all this stuff that was going. On and

(01:22:49):
so when he came in, today he's, like, look, DUDE
i don't mean to be short with. YOU i JUST i
was busy doing something AND i read the thing AND
i just sent a quick message and he, go what
did you say to? ME i just find it fastinating
BECAUSE i understand that. Struggle everyone has gotten long, Texts
but what is the? Balance what's the protocol?

Speaker 4 (01:23:06):
There, Yeah like if you send me something really in
depth and you're, like, Hey, jimmy LOOK i Need friday
off because this is. Happening that's. Happening this is. Happening that's.
Happening AND i just, go, SURE.

Speaker 6 (01:23:14):
I get, that And i've done, that and SO i
can totally relate to that, that but maybe does it feel.

Speaker 5 (01:23:21):
LIKE i should have actually engauge, like oh, Dude i'm
sorry to hear.

Speaker 6 (01:23:24):
That what's going? On, yeah no problem? Whatsoever like exactly like,
that and so you know you can't read into oh
that's an annoyed, Yes, yes that's that's what. Annoyed, yes
past Or, hey no, problem look forward to seeing you.
Tomorrow and that's WHAT i wound up saying, eventually like see.
Tomorrow explanation point BECAUSE i felt, Dicky, yeah BECAUSE i.

Speaker 5 (01:23:46):
Did do you feel that way at?

Speaker 16 (01:23:47):
All?

Speaker 4 (01:23:47):
Oh, yeah it hit you like, that like you feel
like like IF i would if you would have sent, Me, Hey,
JIMMY i need this A. B i've gotta do, this
gotta do, that gotta do, This AND i just, went,
yeah you would think THAT i was upset about.

Speaker 7 (01:23:57):
IT i was, like, oh there he. Goes he's mad.
Again he's always. Mad so the text THAT i sent
him always.

Speaker 5 (01:24:04):
MAD i didn't even text just an answer without being a.
Dick the text THAT i sent him was thirty three words.
LONG i just, counted and, yes there's a couple of
a's and i's and o's in. There that's thirty three.

Speaker 7 (01:24:17):
Words, yes his response was three, letters so it's still
it's still lined up with the letter.

Speaker 6 (01:24:22):
Three that's what he was shooting.

Speaker 5 (01:24:24):
For BUT i think everybody in twenty twenty six knows
exactly What jim is talking. About where the obligation starts
skyrocketing the further the text.

Speaker 7 (01:24:35):
Is which is why like the text IS i understand
where you come, From, ross which is it's just easier
to give me a.

Speaker 6 (01:24:41):
CALL i get, TONED i get get timings, exactly AND
i can probably pick up on. That oh it's not
me that's being the cause of the bad. Day it's something.

Speaker 4 (01:24:51):
Else so then your attitude, Changed and then all of
a SUDDEN i was, like, WELL i WAS i was
just answering his, question and NOW i feel Like i'm
being an. Asked he, like was texting me About emily
because Because ross is the one that you, know kind
of made the hook up to Get emily in here.
Today by the, way if you didn't hear our movie of.
Reviewers first shot at. It you can do that At
jim court live dot. Com he know he's talking about
all this. STUFF i, go, yes he, goes appreciate.

Speaker 6 (01:25:11):

Speaker 9 (01:25:13):

Speaker 6 (01:25:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:25:15):
Yeah THEN i thought that's all that's, ross just fighting, fire, Perfect,
thanks see you. Tomorrow THEN i even like even he
didn't respond to, That he didn't even he left me
hanging BECAUSE i thought he was. Perfect and then this,
morning my text was, this good, morning my, man exclamation,

(01:25:35):

Today question mark exclamation Point and then he sends me a.

Speaker 6 (01:25:41):

Speaker 4 (01:25:45):
It but you THOUGHT i was mad at you just
BECAUSE i said, yes, no because you were changing, schedules
and you thought it annoyed me WHEN i. Didn't HAVE
i ever been annoyed by you changing. Schedules you've been
annoyed by?

Speaker 5 (01:25:56):
Me, No i've been annoyed by, you but not by changing,
schedules BECAUSE i really.

Speaker 6 (01:26:00):
Lies you gotta do what you gotta. Do, YEAH I
and it's just it's.

Speaker 5 (01:26:03):
ODD i assumed that everything was, okay but it definitely
takes an assumption that's my.

Speaker 6 (01:26:10):
BAD i get annoyed when he. Changes AND i told
him That jim is really annoyed at. You so he
weaponized you and your resting bee face to put fear in.
Myself AND i, said, hey you can text, him but
if he doesn't, respond or, worse he gives you a short.

Speaker 5 (01:26:30):

what you're talking. About, one what's the power? MOVE i don't.

Speaker 5 (01:27:04):

a declarative. Statement read the name on the show bro
a million years say. That, no it's except to. It
BUT i was gonna back my groceries. BETTER i mean
it's gonna get. Better and, then by the, way the

(01:27:25):
burners choices are. Good there Is, uh it's so easy
to overthink, text AND i don't know. WHY i think
it's just our dumb farm brain farm animal, brains just
trying to put more meaning behind something when really.

Speaker 7 (01:27:39):
Human, communication so much human community communication is done it's.
Nonverbal like the majority of our communication is non, verbal
so it's it's. Hard that's where you know where to
put your your exchange is. OKAY i got the. NUANCE
i picked up on the. ATTITUDE i heard the vocal changesuctuation.

Speaker 6 (01:27:58):

you three realize how unfair this is to? Me?

Speaker 4 (01:28:40):
JIM i, mean do you seriously realize how you're using
a perception that isn't true to formulate a thought process
that isn't. Accurate i'm not ever that mad at you,
guys unless you don't. NOTHING i, Like i'm never in my,
Like I'M i don't do power. Moves know what you're

(01:29:00):
talking about with the power move?

Speaker 6 (01:29:01):

Complete.

Speaker 4 (01:39:43):

Hollywood Mark Robert england went to the audition to Be Luke.

(01:40:22):
Skywalker he. Bombed he comes back to the apartment and, says, hey,
LOOK i really ate it at this, gig BUT i
think you should go audition for this.

Speaker 5 (01:40:29):
Part and that person Was Mark. Hamill And Mark hamill
got the bar Of Luke skywalker because Of Freddy Krueger
WOW r TWO d. Two i'll tell you more about
that in a.

Speaker 4 (01:40:38):
Second Carrie fisher And James Earl jones never met one
time during the filming of any of The Star Wars saga.
Movies they met for the very first time in person
while filming an episode Of Big Bang. Theory because he
didn't have to be on. Set it was just his, voice,
Right so he never came to the. Set he never
met any of the.

Speaker 5 (01:40:58):
Crew how about, this the actor who they cast As Darth.
Vader he did the entire movie and the voice his,
voice and they were, like, dude this is. Bad, yeah
muffled and he was. Pissed he's never really embraced The
Star wars fandom because it's not his.

Speaker 4 (01:41:17):
Voice Before Star Wars, luke the working title of the
movie Was Luke starkill or did you know THAT i?

Speaker 5 (01:41:24):
Did and that's because of a video, Game Star Wars.
Unleashed i'm.

Speaker 4 (01:41:29):
Yea the actors who PORTRAYED c THREE po AND r
TWO d two did not like each other at. All
as a matter of, fact the actor who PLAYED r
TWO d, two The Little little. Fella he was he
was he was three feet.

Speaker 6 (01:41:42):
Eight.

Speaker 4 (01:41:44):
Yeah he refused to attend common con events if the
guy who PLAYED c three po was there, real, yeah
he would not go to the same ones because he
didn't want to be next to. It at the Time
Star Wars wars was, set how old Is? Chabaca like
when they shot the very first movie in seventy, seven
when you See chewbacca in the, movie according to the
creators of the, film at that, time he's how.

Speaker 6 (01:42:07):
Old i'm gonna go to? Ten two ten years? Old,
Yeah i'm going thirty.

Speaker 5 (01:42:13):
Five twenty, eight two hundred years. Old he was two
hundred years. Old and when you Saw chewbacca for the first,
time when you saw him at that, time the writer
said he was two hundred years.

Speaker 6 (01:42:24):
Old oh.

Speaker 5 (01:42:24):
Wow, well you have to understand that gravity is different
on the home, planet Cash, jack where are you taking?
It in the original SCRIPT r TWO d two cursed a.
Ton they changed everything about him because he cursed like
every other.

Speaker 6 (01:42:41):
Thing he.

Speaker 4 (01:42:41):
Said it was a curse. Word really yea yeah, yeah
so they changed. It and then, lastly here this is
the this is the best one of.

Speaker 6 (01:42:47):
All saw.

Speaker 16 (01:42:49):
A.

Speaker 7 (01:42:49):
Cussing oh, yeah if you.

Speaker 4 (01:42:51):
If you went a great rabbit, hole just say fun
facts about the First Star wars and buddy off you.

Speaker 6 (01:42:55):
Go it is. Crazy that means all OF r TWO
d two's beeps for. Censors that's probably what it.

Speaker 4 (01:43:01):
Was, Finally Donald duck and then lastly Here George lucas
And Steven spielberg were so sure That Star wars was
going to. Flop they didn't Go they didn't go to
the movie. Premiere they actually went on vacation. Instead what
do you think they did on?

Speaker 6 (01:43:15):
Vacation?

Speaker 5 (01:43:16):
Right and they wrote the Movie raiders of The Lost. Art,
yeah oh, Wow so they didn't go to the.

Speaker 4 (01:43:22):
Movie that's one of the if not the most successful
film franchise in. History they also went and wrote one
of the other best movies in, History Raiders All, start
by the, way its a perfect.

Speaker 5 (01:43:33):
Film the one of the saddest things That i've heard
and read recently in the world Of Star wars Was
George lucas kind of talking about the moment When disney
buys the, franchise they have the, meeting he, goes this
is WHAT i, think this is WHERE i think the
franchise should, go and they.

Speaker 6 (01:43:49):
Kind of just nodded and.

Speaker 5 (01:43:50):
Smiled, Yes George lucas basically going, yeah but it's, yeah
but it's over and we're gonna do what we want to, do.

Speaker 6 (01:43:58):
Right, yeah you told.

Speaker 5 (01:43:58):
It and he talks about that, moment that realization where, like,
damn my babies are. Gone, yeah they're. Done and he
wasn't supposed to be the easiest guy to work with.
EITHER a lot of the actors said that his only
direction was faster and more, intense and they actually made
signs that when he wasn't, around they would hold him
up and it would say faster and more. Intense and
he didn't like look at actors as. Valuable he only

(01:44:20):
considered the writing and what was happening around them. Valuable
it was kind of.

Speaker 7 (01:44:24):
WILD i bet his opinion about that has. Changed.

Speaker 4 (01:44:27):
Yeah he also said that the deal he made With,
fox when he made the deal and he sat across,
him he, goes ALL i want is access to the
rights for all the, merchandising And fox couldn't wait to
sign the deal because they were so short. Sighted they
didn't realize that that was going to be the real
money maker of the. Film although it does well ticket,
wise the merch has been never really they haven't really

(01:44:50):
compounded how much it's, worth but the film franchise is
worth anywhere from eight to ten billion. DOLLARS i believe
that's not counting. MERCHANDISE i believe they Bought Star. Wars
disney bought The French Star wars for four.

Speaker 6 (01:45:01):
Billion. YEAH i think that was the price tag for.

Speaker 3 (01:45:04):
IT.

Speaker 5 (01:45:04):
YEP i have another fun fact About George. Lucas he
has movies just in his home that he's made for,
him himself and this, friend and you'll never see him
and you'll never see. Them All, right we got another
keyword for you And Brandon. Cravitz the sports.

TIME i roll in this.

Speaker 6 (01:46:54):
Studio great.

Speaker 5 (01:46:55):
Cash, well let's talk about some sports. Here obviously there's
one big story In orlando today and then another minor big.
Story but, No Orlando magic not only lose to The Deroit,
pistons they lose their coach in the Most magic fashion
of all.

Speaker 6 (01:47:12):
Time you, know we.

Speaker 4 (01:47:13):
Go up three to one on the number one team
in The east and then systemically or systematically just go
and just lose one after the. Other but this last
one was exceptionally. Bad, yeah last night was. Rough The
magic played really well in the first.

Speaker 19 (01:47:28):
Quarter it was a close, game and then The pistons
just opened it up from. There The magic continued to
not make, shots which was more of a. Problem game
six was more treacherous Than game seven. Was game, six
The magic had a twenty four point lead in the first,
half a twenty four point lead in a series where

(01:47:49):
both teams are struggling to, score a twenty four point,
lead where your, opponent even at the end of the
game when they hate to spoil, it came all the way.

Speaker 6 (01:47:59):
Back.

Speaker 19 (01:47:59):
Yeah, yeah won by double, digits right, right didn't get
to one hundred. Points that, scary which is unheard of
in THE nba. Today so it's not like you were.
Battling you weren't battling some all time great offensive performance
that got sparked the magic went forty five minutes of real,
time not game, time without making a. Shot it was

(01:48:20):
twenty three consecutive misses and unfortunately that did bleed over
Into game. Seven there's an obvious connection with both of those,
games which is That Franz, wagner the second best, player
maybe the best sometimes whatever it's ONE, a ONE b With,
pallo wasn't available in either of those. Games you had
a calf. Issue calf injuries you don't mess around with in.

(01:48:42):
Sports those are the precursor to An achilles, rupture and
that will put you out for at least a. Year,
yeah and they didn't want to mess with. THAT i
totally get, it but it cost them the. Series so,
YE i, mean.

Speaker 5 (01:48:53):
Do you have Because ross said this, earlier he, said
you can't really discount the effect That franz has when
it comes to shutting Down cunningham and you, know and
offering a big body in the middle as well on the.
OFFENSES i, mean is that?

Speaker 6 (01:49:05):
Accurate? Absolutely.

Speaker 19 (01:49:07):
ABSOLUTELY i think one of the things that you'll notice
if you watch THE nba. Postseason in TODAY'S, nba there's
two things that really matter a. LOT i, mean outside
of the obvious three point shooting is taken over the.

Speaker 6 (01:49:18):
League that's not anything. New you have to have two.

Speaker 19 (01:49:21):
Guys it's a little bit nineties in that, way whereas
like think ABOUT nba, Chance, yeah there's always a.

Speaker 6 (01:49:27):
Duo it has to be a.

Speaker 19 (01:49:28):
Duo you have to have two guys that can take
over a basketball, game and if you, don't then you're
not going to go very. Far the other thing is
there's this weak link era where you can't throw out
you can't throw out guys on the court on offense
or on defense that have no game right right to,
them because they will get targeted on both ends the.

(01:49:51):
Defense if you put out someone that can't, shoot the
defense will will they will go out of their way
to make sure you're passing the ball eventually to that.

Speaker 6 (01:49:58):
Player leive them why, open and we'll live with that. Shot.
Sure on, defense these guys get.

Speaker 19 (01:50:04):
Hunted it's one of the issues that The knicks have
because as great As Jalen brunson is, offensively the opposing
offense they just go After brunson on every. Play, tonight
The sixers, play the seventy Six ers, play The. Knicks
watch how Often tyre S maaxy roast this, dude it's
gonna be again and again and. Again they have to overcome. That,

(01:50:25):
yeah you have to be so incredible to overcome those.
Things AND i think that last year when he saw
The thunder and The pacers make it to the, finals
those two, teams while they were built, differently had a similar.
Trait every single player from their starters to their bench
they threw out on the, floor played some sort of
key role in what made their operation. Run, yeah The

(01:50:48):
magic have too many players that aren't great defensively and can't,
shoot and you just can't win in THE nba like.

Speaker 3 (01:50:55):
That.

Speaker 4 (01:50:55):
Yeah, yeah, well let's talk About Jamal. Mosley of course
we kind of already. KNEW i made a joke that
as soon AS i got in, TODAY i came, IN i,
said what do you think The calshi odds are on
mostly making it through the, day and of COURSE i
should sit through the.

Speaker 19 (01:51:07):
HOUR i, SAID i would put a hefty wager on
that we would not make it through The.

Speaker 4 (01:51:11):
Yeah, yeah so you, know not saying this guy's a bad.
Coach he has taken this team to the playoffs three
years in a. Row three years in a, row all
first round, exits two game. Sevens, yeah the. GUYS i
do think the guy is a good.

Speaker 19 (01:51:23):
Coach that's an unpopular opinion today because he's not. PERFECT
i think he has a room to grow out of
timeout calls and when to use. TIMEOUTS i think overthinking
his rotations and things like. That people make too much
of halftime. Adjustments if you ever ever hear anybody over
use that, phrase just immediately discount what they're. SAYING i

(01:51:46):
host a halftime, show you get like ten. Minutes, yeah
you got to change your whole game plan in ten. Minutes,
NO i mean, OBVIOUSLY i, mean come, on that's not the.
WAY i, mean you can get point, like, hey this
guy's doing, this this guy's doing. That we can rotate
around and shut that. Down but you could do that
during the. GAME i mean. Exactly if you point out
that coach isn't good at making, adjustments that's. Fine halftime
adjustments are so. Overrated these guys go to the locker,

(01:52:06):
room they get a quick bite to, eat maybe they
eat some apple, sauce you don't want to fill up too,
much and then they go to the bathroom and they
run back out and they're. Shooting when do they have
time to sit and watch game? Films that's not how
halftime halftime for.

Speaker 6 (01:52:17):
Me he's like.

Speaker 5 (01:52:17):
WINGS i like some, fries maybe some, CHEESE a couple
of drinks will get out. There any ideas of who
The magic are scouting for a? Possibility are we going
to do this from? Within are we going out for
a big? Name what's going? On there's one there's one
COACH i don't even know if it's on the, Paper Sam.
CASSELL i want to See Sam cassell In? Orlando is that?
Crazy the Old rockets? Guy, yeah, dude the Old Sam

(01:52:38):
cassell is you remember the Name eric B.

Speaker 19 (01:52:41):
Enemy he Was Andy reid's assistant coach and every year
he was part of the cycle of. Names, yeah and
then he never got the. Job That's Sam cassell in THE.
Nba every year his name is, like all, right top three?

Speaker 6 (01:52:53):
Candidates is this? Guy this guy In Sam. Cassell SO
i don't know.

Speaker 19 (01:52:57):
WHY i don't know why he never gets the head
coach coaching, job but he's always. Mentioned he's always someone
that people get excited. About he was a great point
guard during his. Time that usually translates to being a good.
Coach we see a lot of point. Guards Steve, Nash Jason, Kiddy.

Speaker 5 (01:53:12):
Steve ger is similar To Jamal, mosley one of those
names that always got brought up five six years ago of, like, okay,
well this guy's supposed to, be you, know the future of,
coaching and then finally we gave him a. Shot but
five years no playoff series.

Speaker 19 (01:53:24):
Wins SO i think what we see every organization in
sports follows the same. Pattern if you hire a guy
that has no previous head coaching, experience then the next
coach you hire has head coaching. Experience, Right it's not
always that direct with the but it's always, like whatever
the deficiency of the previous coach, was is the what

(01:53:47):
you hire than the next?

Speaker 6 (01:53:48):
Coach?

Speaker 5 (01:53:48):
Understood but we also know we've heard rumors that some
of the stars can also determine how the team chooses a.
Coach if you want to keep The star In, orlando,
theoretically is you out there and find a coach of
this guy Jels. With we definitely Want, Pallo bancero And
franz to stick. Around i'd heard there was some you,
know rumblings that were some stuff in the locker room going.

(01:54:09):
On i'll while You're Dwight Howard Stan gundy kind of.

Speaker 6 (01:54:12):
Thing.

Speaker 4 (01:54:13):
Yeah, Yeah but with this, scenario is that the same
As paalo and Do franz have that kind of pool
in the in the locker room to make the front
office make a change that fits them in their game.

Speaker 6 (01:54:22):
BETTER i think.

Speaker 19 (01:54:23):
So they they're stars in the, league they definitely have
some say in the. MATTER i don't think they have
as much pull as some of the bigger names in the.
League they're Not lebron or anything like. That Like lebron
literally had his podcast Partner yea hired as the head
coach and then had his son, drafted who wasn't AN nba.
Player he's been better, lately by the. Way but now

(01:54:44):
they don't have that kind of, Pool but they have
a poll every start in THE. Nba at some, LEVEL
i think they're gonna go, with Like Billy donovan is
the name that.

Speaker 6 (01:54:53):
We've heard a, lot but we've already done that for a, Day,
yeah exactly for a. Day.

Speaker 19 (01:54:58):
Today he took the, job and then he went up
To florida and he did his goodbye press conference and
his wife was, LIKE.

Speaker 6 (01:55:06):
I am, oving and he was, like all, Right i'm
not leaving, well then you can commute do. Aug it's
not that.

Speaker 5 (01:55:11):
Far he's a game Build. Orlando ain't that, bad. DUDE i,
mean you hire a guy that has done that to.
YOU i mean he was the head coach of The.

Speaker 19 (01:55:17):
Bulls they chose to retain, him and then he walked
away from the.

Speaker 6 (01:55:21):
Job. Again this is two times.

Speaker 19 (01:55:22):
Now but here's the cool thing about where The magic
are is that whether It's Billy donovan or, whoever this
is the best job available in THE nba.

Speaker 6 (01:55:32):
Now it is a very short.

Speaker 19 (01:55:35):
List there's only three jobs available right, Now, Magic bulls And.
Pelicans and The pelicans are rumored to be After Jamal,
moseley so that job is probably going to be taken
by the Prior Orlando magic. Coach so really you're just Fighting.
Chicago they need somebody to Watch zion.

Speaker 6 (01:55:50):
SIT i think you would. Be he'd probably be a
good fit there or. WHATEVER i.

Speaker 19 (01:55:56):
Mean this is the. Carousel, ultimately what all boys down
to is. This IF i could punctuate the, sentence go.
Ahead the reason WHY i haven't been too hard On
moseley throughout his time here is the same reason WHY
i won't be to the next. Guy there's no other
league in this world that is more player driven and
less impacted by the coaches that are standing on the

(01:56:18):
sideline clapping and calling time. Outs and in THE, nba
the players get paid gazillion dollars to get this. Done
every single great team in the history of THE, nba
every champion has had like one of the top ten
players in the world on. It the path is very
obvious and. SIMPLE a great, player have a great, player

(01:56:40):
don't get, way and the supporting pass the end and
it's if you find a good head coach along the, way.

Speaker 6 (01:56:47):
Great that's not the be all end all in THE. Nba,
yeah for. Sure let's move on real quick to The Orlando.

Speaker 4 (01:56:51):
City they had a gigantic win this past, weekend went
down To miami uh, and looking at a three to zero,
deficit managed to stream together four scores and wind up
pulling it out at four to oh which is a,
big big. Deal it's their new. Stadium messi was on the,
pitch so.

Speaker 19 (01:57:06):
Not often do do we defeat Into miami to do
it in their stadium in front of their annoying fans
who have latched onto The messi. Bandwagon it just makes
it that much. Sweeter and then to MAKE mls. History
on top of, it it's only happened a few times
in the history of this league where a team has
been down three to zero and then battled all the

(01:57:27):
way back to get a. Win so shout out To Martino,
hada who was the best player on the pitch that.

Speaker 6 (01:57:31):
Night and that's saying something with me as.

Speaker 5 (01:57:37):
Well very good throwing this out. Here that was you
were saying their new. STADIUM i believe that was their
fourth match in their new. Stadium they had draws the
first three, matches which means that they are Inner miami
the first team to lose in that, stadium And Orlando
city is the first team to win that. Stadium the rivalry,

(01:58:00):
YOU i love the fact That messi is Very it's
apparent he doesn't like the color, purple all.

Literation ray drops.

Speaker 4 (02:01:34):
By On mondays to talk about legal things happening out
there you may have heard of or maybe not have heard,
of and some of these decisions actually could affect your.
Life so we like to talk about things like, that
and of course if you have a situation where you
need a good. Attorney my family has Used ray over
and over and over for the last ten, years and
he's come through for us like a billion. Ways no
way to, explain you. Know we talk about this with
home improvement. Stuff how important it is to have somebody

(02:01:55):
that knows what they're doing that you can call in any.
MOMENT i would say that equally or maybe even more
so when it comes to your legal matters in your.
Life it's great and very comforting to know THAT i
can give you a call and get some great advice
for things that need to happen in my life THAT
i don't know how to deal. With so you've been
a great asset to the. Family we appreciate that very.
MUCH i appreciate you saying, that, yeah you got, it
and it's true hundred. PERCENT i, mean you, Know i'm
been in your office a. Bunch we've been on the

(02:02:15):
phone about stupid stuff and about serious. STUFF a cool
thing is you look at all things the, same whether
it's dumb or whether it's super. Serious you get the
same amount of attention from the. Firm AND i love.

Speaker 6 (02:02:24):
That you.

Speaker 25 (02:02:25):
Know the problem is there's not a lot of good
information out. There there's a lot of people that are
afraid of asking those. Questions and so you, know, really
What i've tried to do Since i've been on the
air and just in general in my career is just
present an opportunity for people to.

Speaker 6 (02:02:41):
Talk to somebody and have a voice and get a.

Speaker 4 (02:02:43):
Voice, absolutely, MAN i gotta tell you just you don't
feel you, know you feel so unempowered or disempowered or
disenfranchised when you're out there on your own and you
don't have a, Voice you don't know what to, say
you don't know who to say it. To and the
very thing is like a simple call and that gets
that sums that, up which is always very.

Speaker 6 (02:02:59):
NICE i had come the.

Speaker 4 (02:03:00):
Best you, know we were texting this morning and talking
about a case that's out In, houston and THEN i was, like, hey,
man that's wild because the same kind of thing is
happening In.

Speaker 5 (02:03:08):
Orlando what did you see?

Speaker 25 (02:03:09):
Today, Yeah, so So starlink In texas has a lawsuit
filed against. It it's it's brand. NEW i wasn't able
to pull the lawsuit for, today but brand new as
of this. Morning where the homeowners in and around the
port area where the launch facility is at our filing

(02:03:30):
lawsuits alleging these sonic booms are causing damages to their.

Speaker 6 (02:03:34):
Homes also the launches and the rumbling of the. Ground
also the rumbling of the.

Speaker 25 (02:03:40):
Ground now WHEN i, SO i was recently in this
part of Southeast, texas and so there are. COMMUNITIES i
mean it almost it almost looks like it's like A.
SpaceX you, know neighborhood everybody has a cyber truck or
one of The tesla model xes every and, then you,

(02:04:02):
know but there's these all these neighborhoods that lead down
to where the launch facility, is and they're complaining about
lots of issues with their properties and they're filing right
now they haven't certified as a class. Action but when
you see multiple lawsuits like, this the terminology is called. Numerosity,

(02:04:22):
right you see a bunch of plainetfs with similar damages
from the similar, cause it is usually the sign of
an early class action. Lawsuit lawyers just start posting ads and, saying,
hey you two might be affected by, This come give
us a.

Speaker 5 (02:04:36):
Call And i've seen that. Before we've seen those ads.
Before and it's so funny that you mentioned, that because
In february of this, year we actually read a story
that The Cape canaveral and the surrounding areas are dealing
with the exact same. Thing the unique part of This
Cape canaveral story that differs from The houston story is
is that At Cape, canaveral it's city leaders over there
wondering if thin can create like a slush fund with

(02:04:56):
state and federal grants that in case some of these.
Launches we have more coming out Of Cape caravel than.
ANYWHERE i mean, sure sometimes to a day and they're
worried about the same. Thing matter of, fact there are
a couple of people, already the women that have already
come out and said that, look, man you, know this
is causing my house to, Shake it's causing me to knee,
repairs foundation. Issues when you start cracking, slabs you start

(02:05:17):
having water. Issues maybe these are tens of thousands of
dollars these, repairs and they don't feel that they should
have to pay for that because they moved in long
before the launch pad was there and they feel they
should not have to deal with. This and it's weird
that the city is creating.

Speaker 4 (02:05:32):
That and the one THING i wanted to ask you about,
This rae is you mentioned the class action. Thing we
hear that all the, Time like almost every day there's
a suit about a class matter of, fact there's one
today or the other. DAY i Told jack About it's
like if you have a city, card you, know they
just settle a class action lawsuit they have to distribute
like you, know twenty four million dollars or. Something and
you hear about that all the. Time how does that?
Begin like how do people who have a collective problem like,

(02:05:55):
that like a, neighborhood how would they get together and,
say you know, what we need to get an attorney
on this is everybody in on it type? Thing is
that what happens like a.

Speaker 25 (02:06:02):
Petition, honestly a lot of times it's the, lawyers and you,
know say all kinds of good things and bad things about,
lawyers but you, Know i've actually Been WHEN i was
very young in my, CAREER i had the opportunity to
be at the very beginning of a class action, lawsuit
and so we had a plaint of coming in AND
i don't really want we we had a confidential settlement
for the class and SO i don't want to talk

(02:06:23):
too much about the specific, details but conceptually, speaking the
person came to. Me nobody thought it was a. Lawsuit
she had talked to ten lawyers in, town all the big,
names all the big, billboards AND i, said this is
interesting to. ME i think that there's something. Here so
we sat. Down we probably twelve hours of going through the,
story the back from, everybody absolutely just making sure that

(02:06:46):
the story made. Sense and so we ended up filing
our own individual lawsuit with those, facts and in doing,
that we had another person reach out to us and
said we had a very similar experience with a very
similar person, sure and that they wanted to know IF
i could represent. Them and you, know as we got

(02:07:08):
involved and more and more people came to. Us we
started to, See, okay there's some very common themes that
are going. On similar things are being, said some similar
things are being, done similar damages.

Speaker 5 (02:07:20):
And end results experiences were similar enough where you could
kind of wrap it up under one.

Speaker 6 (02:07:24):
Umbrella that's.

Speaker 25 (02:07:25):
Right and so we ended up running an advertising campaign
to say you may have been impacted AND i don't.
Know so once it went to class, action kind of
left my. HANDS i was a baby. Lawyer they were
not gonna let me run with this. Thing BUT i
think we had up to like one hundred and fourteen
plaintiffs that joined our class action. Lawsuit and is there.

Speaker 4 (02:07:46):
A number that determines that word being used or does
that is that just a term do say where a
bunch of people have the same. Issue is it, ten
is it? Fifteen is it? Four is it one?

Speaker 6 (02:07:55):
HUNDRED i think probably fifty to seventy five is.

Speaker 25 (02:07:58):
Pretty common when you start paying. Tension it's probably pretty
common because part of, it too is judicial. Economy right
to have fifty trials of the exact same trial with
the exact same, issues that becomes a drain on the legal.
System you have one, trial you need one plaint if
to be kind of the the face person of the.
Lawsuit you know In roe. V wade we had that Right.

Speaker 5 (02:08:22):
Aaron against type.

Speaker 6 (02:08:24):
Thing that's.

Speaker 25 (02:08:25):
Right you just need one person to kind of be
the face of the, lawsuit and then all the other
plainiffs sign off and say that we're you, know we
agree that we're going to follow. Whatever the outcome is
usually an opt out, period so people can, say, OH
i want to do my own lawsuit IF i want,
To but.

Speaker 4 (02:08:39):
Does the judge have any say in? That or is
that something where you have to go to the judge and, say, hey, judge,
look we have one hundred and fourteen. Cases they're similar
enough that we think this is a class. Action do
you have to get permission from the.

Speaker 25 (02:08:49):
Court, yeah that that's a sore subject for me on
this because that's when that's WHEN i got pushed. Out
so you actually do have to go in front of
the judge really and get certified as a class.

Speaker 5 (02:08:58):
Action is that an argument as if you're pitching a
case as, well like you really have to convince this
guy to take these cases because of the power of
the fact that one decision is gonna affect so many.

Speaker 25 (02:09:08):
People that's. Right it's exactly because for the. Lawyer it
becomes sometimes a windfall for the. Lawyer NOW i didn't
do this case all by. Myself we brought it into
the lawyer and law firm to handle the case with
us who had some experience doing class. Actions but, yeah
you have to really pitch it to them that this
is something that is not only good for the judiciary

(02:09:29):
and judicial, economy but also for the Class and so it,
becomes like you, said kind of like a, pitch so to. Speak,
now a lot of times you can sell it to
the judge is, saying, hey, judge you could hear this
case fifty times over the course of fifty weeks or
one time of the course of one, week and usually that's.

Speaker 4 (02:09:48):
Enough but, yeah because the dockets In florida already slammed
as it, is, RIGHT i, mean every single circuit court
in The florida is a month, behind if not.

Speaker 25 (02:09:56):
More but what makes this, interesting you, know specifically with
respect to the space, launches is the damages might be
a little bit. Different you, know it might be you,
know cracked. Foundations for some, people it might be one
busted windows or a busted. Window and so when your
damages start to kind of spread out and Like spiderweb

(02:10:18):
a little bit. Out sometimes it becomes harder for a
judge because it might be like there might be a
different cause and, effect.

Speaker 4 (02:10:24):
But is there a is there a case manager that
divvy's that? Out like does the judge or the law firm,
say we're assigning this particular associate to be the case
manager so that when the when the when the decision
comes down and the judge, says, yes these people are
liable for, That i'm going to award ten million dollars.

Speaker 6 (02:10:42):
For everybody was.

Speaker 4 (02:10:43):
Affected you will have a case manager within the firm
that will divvy that money out case by case as
each person pitches their.

Speaker 6 (02:10:49):
Needs SO i change it a little.

Speaker 25 (02:10:51):
Bit instead of case, manager you might have a, subclass,
right you might have a subclass within the big class
of like these are all people whose windows got. Cracked
these are people who's you, know foundation got super.

Speaker 5 (02:11:02):
Interesting but over in The Cape canaveral are looking at it.
Different it's not like a. Lawsuit it's like the city
is assuming the responsibility of that. RIGHT i, mean it's
kind of wild That i've never heard of anything like.
This is a private companies doing business ON nasa federal.
Property and possibly causing damage to homes around. There like
where do you even start with?

Speaker 4 (02:11:20):
That, LIKE i mean people In Marion island are probably
like glued Over Cape, canaveral glued to the radio right,
now going, yeah how is that gonna?

Speaker 25 (02:11:26):
Happen, well and it may not completely eliminate the possibility
of a, lawsuit right. Gotcha you know a little bit
of a difference is you, know when we HAD, NASA
nasa was the only person shooting off. Rockets it was
one rocket EVERY i don't, know ye, What, Yeah and

(02:11:46):
it's the cycle which they're shooting these things, off WHICH
i think has really changed the complexion of the damages
that people are. Sustaining and so you, know.

Speaker 4 (02:11:55):
And really we have yet to see the environment environmental
impact of this either with all of the rocket the
fuels and the chemicals being used that as their burning
will eventually settle back down into the waterways and onto
the residents and the flora of the.

Speaker 6 (02:12:09):
Area yeah, yeah. Yeah and then's a wildlife. Refuge, yeah,
yeah you're. Right i've been at that wildlife. Refuge it's
got a lot of.

Speaker 5 (02:12:17):
Animals oh, yeah that's that eagles nests that you get
to see all The times the size of a.

Speaker 6 (02:12:21):
Sofa, man those eagles are. Awesome, yeah. Unbelievable but, yeah
well that's.

Speaker 25 (02:12:26):
INTERESTING i do think it'll be interesting because that's a
little bit more of like it's more like an impact.
Issue yeah, right like you, know the city's impacted by
the uh the launches as opposed to individual.

Speaker 6 (02:12:37):
Houses. Yeah, so and again that's. Story it was In.

Speaker 4 (02:12:39):
FEBRUARY i, mean we're gonna eventually hear more about that
as as the city kind of does. That and there
was another thing you sent this MORNING i did want
to talk about because it's in the gaming, world because
you know anything about The sony, settlement, guys for, GAMERS.

Speaker 5 (02:12:52):
I know something that a huge change just. Happened And
i'm quoting the internet here AND i glossed by, it
But i'm pretty pretty sure it has something to do
with the digital sale of video games and how they
basically redefine the word.

Speaker 25 (02:13:07):
Buy, yeah SO i was thinking About ross WHEN i
saw this. Story, actually, Sorry, jack but you KNOW i
Think ross WHEN i think of video.

Speaker 6 (02:13:15):
Games that's, Fine i'm good for, That.

Speaker 25 (02:13:19):
But so conceptually you're spot On. Ross so the idea
is there's usually two ways that you can buy, games
and NOW i think more often than that it's the
digital way as opposed to like a buying A.

Speaker 5 (02:13:30):
Cd or downloading instead of walking into a.

Speaker 25 (02:13:32):
Store, Right and so what the lawsuit was about was
basically an anti trust type. Lawsuit basically the PlayStation In
sony had created a monopoly over how you could buy
these digital. Downloads so you, know for your phone or,
whatever you want to Download Candy. CRUSH i don't know
if that's still game, anymore but you have like options

(02:13:54):
on where you can download it. From AND i don't
know if it's paid, for but. Whatever when you're buying
A sony PlayStation game for a digital, download you had
to go through The Sony PlayStation store AND i don't
know exactly what the store is, called but their. PlayStations
i think it's STORE ps. Store and so the problem
was is nobody else had access to be able to sell.
That so you couldn't go to game stop and buy

(02:14:16):
these digital. Downloads you couldn't go To amazon by these
digital Download it's very.

Speaker 6 (02:14:21):
Similar it's very.

Speaker 25 (02:14:23):
Similar and that's actually where my mind WHEN i first
read it, was you, know when you've got a license
and you can grant the limited. License but you know
the problem is is these games are almost solely run
out of these these platforms and these, applications and so
the court came down and they ended up being a
fairly large settlement where as a as an anti trust

(02:14:44):
violation that people who have been using The Sony, store you,
know because there's not an open market for these, things
the prices stay are officially, high and people are gonna
be entitled to money.

Speaker 5 (02:14:55):
Back, wow like all of their, purchases a portion of their.
PURCHASES i think there digital. Purchases, Yeah i'm sure you
have to have receipts over a period of. Time and
then other news today like Game stop didn't Game stop
just make a pitch For eBay for fifty five billion?

Speaker 25 (02:15:08):
DOLLARS i did see something about Game stop, today BUT
i didn't see what exactly what the story.

Speaker 5 (02:15:12):
WAS i thought that was a mean coin just what
even like a like a year, ago and now they're
making a pitch to buy the biggest online, retailer not
the biggest online, retailer the biggest online auction system out.

Speaker 6 (02:15:21):
There, yeah that's, wild.

Speaker 5 (02:15:23):
Dude WHAT i don't even understand how that can. HAPPEN
i don't understand the stock.

Speaker 25 (02:15:27):
Market, yeah somebody invested a lot of money and Game,
Stop i'm, assuming and now Game stop wants to go
buy something.

Speaker 5 (02:15:33):
Else, yeah they want to Bouy eBay and actually turn
all that into A i read the story. Today they
want to kind of Transform eBay into a different kind
of retailer to kind of go After amazon because they
already have the database for. It, right that's the, thing
Because walmart wanted to do this years ago and they
were they were two years too, late AND i know
internally it eats them.

Speaker 6 (02:15:51):
Alive the value is in the.

Speaker 25 (02:15:52):
Data, yeah you guys have talked about it for years
that if it's something is, free you are you are the,
product you. Know and so that's the craziest for all the.

Speaker 5 (02:16:01):
Game it says Game stop offers fifty six billion to Buy,
eBay and every gamer is, like Game stop ain't got.
That we're just about to close six months. Ago that's
why we joke bought their.

Speaker 6 (02:16:13):
Stock. Exactly what is? Happening my spirit?

Speaker 5 (02:16:17):

Bleep! with Ana Navarro

Bleep! with Ana Navarro

Fear thrives in silence and confusion. Ana Navarro rejects both. Her voice is an antidote to today’s chaos. Her new podcast, Bleep! with Ana Navarro, takes on today’s most pressing issues with the voices most connected to it: decision-makers, political leaders, cultural shapers, and people on the frontlines of the story. The conversations acknowledge the emotions we all feel—despair, sadness, fear— but emerge with knowledge, perspective, and hope. The belief is simple: fearless dialogue can transform fear into courage, and courage into change. When fear dominates the headlines, this show digs deeper. Because information, debate, and conversation don’t just ease fear, they give us power to shape the future.
