Speaker 4 (01:47):
Doing good? How are you doing?

Speaker 3 (01:48):
I'm doing wonderful. Now that you're here. Oh, you're sweet,
You're You're like one of my favorite people in the building.

Speaker 4 (01:53):
You know, well you are too. You today in the hallway.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
What you might have to lie back to you don't
You can.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Just tell me.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
I'm not a very good liar to very honest my
whole life. I've never been a good liar.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
If you're not familiar with metal. Taylor Legend here in
Central Florida, has been the rock queen of Orlando for eighteen.

Speaker 4 (02:15):
Well more than eighteen here here in this building.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
Eighteen yes, so eighteen years as Orlando's rock radio female voice.

Speaker 5 (02:25):
That.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
Yeah, it is fun. You're a legend. We actually was
talking to Janny yesterday.

Speaker 4 (02:28):
I know you guys had good buddy Shanna Her and
I are homie.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
Yeah, she's it's the easiest one to love. I mean,
both of you guys are very easy to like a lot.
But your voice is the one that we actually talked
about this at nauseum because you guys both have a
ridiculous weight on your shoulders to provide a voice for
other radio stations within the iHeart community. And they're like
eight hundred and fifty of them or so. And I
told the story of I drove up to Mississippi to

(02:51):
see some family members. They lived damn near in Memphis, right,
And as we're driving through, I think every single city
that will we went by that had station of note,
I heard either your voice or Jana's voice.

Speaker 4 (03:03):
That's kind of true, I.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
Told him myself, John Morgan billboards and I heard Jana
and Mel Taylor everywhere. Because if there's a rock signal
within seven thousand miles of here, your voice is on it,
it could happen. Yeah, it's fun though.

Speaker 4 (03:16):
I mean, it's been interesting to see how radio has changed.
I mean, I've been to radio twenty five, twenty six years,
and I got to use cards and CDs and all
the things and whistles and it's interesting. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
it's changed over the years. Yeah, but I've never sat
through a four hours show before.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
Well, you've been like this. The funny thing is you
broke this to me because I know you've You've come
in to promote your your events, because you have the
Bad Girl Club and you guys do poker stuff and
do golf stuff to raise money for charities and ladies
throughout the CenTra, Florida area. Yes, and we've helped promote that.
But I swore that you sat in for an entire
show one time, and I guess you have not.

Speaker 4 (03:48):
I have not. I was actually got a nervous coming in.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
Were you really a little bit?

Speaker 6 (03:52):
That's wow?

Speaker 4 (03:52):
Why I don't know, it's different for me.

Speaker 3 (03:55):
I don't. Yeah, it's why. You know, we had Johnny
Magic in I guess while I was living.

Speaker 4 (03:59):
To be actually he was here random and he said.

Speaker 3 (04:02):
That, you know, I asked Dab, I said, how was
Johnny because I don't, you know, I didn't know how
Johnny She said, Johnny was nervous. I'm like Johnny Magic.
He's in every radio Hall of Fame that they build
hall of Fame just to induct him in. I know,
and he was nervous here. But it is a different
machine altogether. It is a unicorn of a radio, it
really is. So it's a it's a little different, but

(04:22):
I love that when people want to come on because
of the long form and conversations that we can have
as opposed to some of the stuff that you guys
have to do on your stations.

Speaker 4 (04:29):
It's different, I'm sure. I mean, I obviously come up
with topics and stuff, but today I asked Jack.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
I'm like, what do I need to do.

Speaker 4 (04:34):
He's like, watch this video and I'll see you at
two thirty. And I said, okay, sounds good.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
I'll be there, easy peasy. Yeah, nothing like it, all right,
four seven nine one six. Well, thank you. I know
that you have a busy schedule and you have some
things going on, and I appreciate you being able to
break off some time and join us today. Thanks having me,
all right, four seven nine one six one o four one. Again,
you can always text us at seven seven zero three one.
Are you a magic fan?

Speaker 4 (04:55):
I am a Magic fan.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
Won't see the game last night?

Speaker 4 (04:57):
Did I go to the game?

Speaker 3 (04:58):
Did you see the game less night?

Speaker 4 (04:59):
I did not the game last night.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
You know, they beat Detroit again last night, and I
was watching the second half. What an amazing game. I
was talking to a crab. I just walked over to
Brandon Studio. I interrupted him at least twice a week. Yeah,
and let me tell you, I'm shame. I'm shameless about it,
and he does. Jack's one hundred percent right. I'll just pass.
And these super important holidays, you know, or just moments
with your grandkids, those are very important. You want to

(05:21):

when you have a tool like Life Image NFLA and
their heart scan, you got to use it because this
will tell you exactly what's happening inside your body. And guys,
let me tell you. You may feel great today, but when
you consider the numbers that one out of three people
in this country will die of heart disease, and some
of those cases there will be zero warning, it's horrifying.
So do what I did, what my wife did, what

(05:42):
my in laws did. Get over to Life IMAGEFLA and
get this free heart scan. And remember there are no dies.
You don't take your clothes off, no injections, none of that,
as a matter of fact, the entire thing when he
takes a few minutes. But the information you get can
save your life. And please, while you're there, ask about
their cancer screening as well, because early detection does save lives.
Simply pick up your cell phone. I'll pound two fifty

(06:02):
and say the keyword free heart scan. That's how you
make your appointment so easy. Pound two five zero, say
the keyword free heart scan. Guys, they'll connect you in seconds.
Then you can start taking care of your long term

Hey, how's it, Ohanna ajat System Mail. Yeah, Jack, concerning
the weather fore cash you gave, we're currently in what
you call an e nso neutral period, which means no laninya,
no el Nina. We're transitioning out of Alanina. That's the
cooler weather we had, but we are going into Ala Nina,

(07:52):
which should arrive in the next couple of months. That
means hotter temperatures and it's going to be upon us
for a little aloha.

Speaker 9 (08:00):
I thought this administration did away with the Mexican weather
that we're only supposed to get American weather.

Speaker 3 (08:05):

see the video?

Speaker 4 (08:20):
The video?

Speaker 10 (08:20):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (08:20):
I did.

Speaker 3 (08:21):
I watched the whole thing, did you I did?

Speaker 4 (08:24):
I watched the whole thing, But I told my husband
I was like walking around watching it and I was like,
I go, I'm feeling like really claustrophobic and antsy and
so many feelings.

Speaker 3 (08:34):
Well, let me tell you. Can you watch videos of
people like doing things on really high places like I'll
give you an example. There's a I think it's in
Oh my God, Peru. I believe this has a very
famous road there. It's called like the there's a it's
got the word death in it and basically it's carved
in the side of this mountain and it's either you're

(08:55):
on the road or it's a three thousand foot fall
to the bottom of the mountain. And then you see
these trucks going through there and motorcycles are passing on
the outside where on one side there's trucks crazy and
I can't I can't even watch those like I just
watching the videos makes my anxiety go through the roof.

(09:15):
My my dad ruined me as a kid. We lived
in West Virginia for a short period of time. My
dad ran a coal mine and to get to the mine,
you went basically circled around this mountain like as if
it was an ice cream cone. And the road was,
you know, five feet wide, it was gravel, it wasn't
even it wasn't even asphalt. There were no guardbrails. And
my old man thought it was the funniest thing in

(09:37):
the way in the world on the way up because
he's on the inside, right, I'm on the outside. So
when I look out my window road, it's like next
stop a thousand feet straight down, and I mean hauling
ass around this thing like I mean like chirping, like
like like crazy, like hanging the ass into this truck

(09:59):
off this because he thought as funny as balls that
his five year old was scared sless because being in
the car. So now anything with heights just I can't.
I can't.

Speaker 4 (10:09):
That's the story. It stuck with it this ame time.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
I can't. If I'm in a hotel that's more than
ten fours, I won't even go to the window. Oh
his bananas, dude killed.

Speaker 4 (10:19):
It's crazy.

Speaker 9 (10:20):
Never say over the fourth floor what you never say
over the fourth wor check.

Speaker 3 (10:24):
I asked him to book menywhere I go to somewhere.
I'm like, give us a room if it's on eleven,
is on eleven. I don't ask stuff for stuff like that.
I'm not like a rock star. Fire trucks with ladders
can only reach it out. Great point.

Speaker 4 (10:36):
It's gonna scare you again. Now every time you go
you're gonna be asking to be an unfordable below.

Speaker 3 (10:41):
Go ahead.

Speaker 9 (10:42):
Youngest Road, commonly referred to as Death Road in Bolivia, Bolivia. Yeah,
eleven five hundred feet of descent yep, that throw drowns
about twenty five thousand tourists per year, has become a
popular destination for adventure tourism, particularly mountain biking. Until the
mid nineteen nineties, the accident rate on the road was

(11:05):
between two hundred and three hundred deaths per year.

Speaker 3 (11:09):
That's not a bad number, right, Yeah.

Speaker 4 (11:10):
All right, let's go drive that. It's like a million
dollar highway though, right, that's another one Colorado.

Speaker 3 (11:15):
No, oh, is that long Mont the one that's called
it's something pass It's some.

Speaker 4 (11:20):
There's something in there. But I mean, my sister has
lived in Colorado parts of the year and we've done
a million dollar.

Speaker 3 (11:25):
So my buddy Code Black is from there. He's from
Fort Collins, right, So when we fly out with them,
they know Colorado like the back of their hand. They
grew up there, so they do all this stuff. Well,
one time we go out there and they they're springing
a joke on me, you know, a Code Black and
his wife and my and my wife and we're riding
in the back and we're in this suv and we're
kind of, you know, we're tooling around the mountain everything

(11:46):
like that. We're going up there. He goes, Oh, we're
going to go to the summit House and we're gonna
go have lunch and stuff. It'll be fun. And I'm like,
the summit House. I said something, Hommit means top, right,
and I'm like yeah. He's like yeah. So they go
to this this one mountain and they're going around this
pass and you gonna remember it's winter. Yeah, And I
don't know if you know this in Colorado. When they
go around there, they take these twenty foot bamboo poles

(12:08):
and they stick them in the ground and that pole
is to tell you where the road ends. And they
put them on this side of the mountains and there
are people driving tractor trailers. Because you can't take the
tractor trailers with hazmat stuff through the tunnels. They don't
allow that. That's against laws. So the truckers have to
drive these giant trucks up and around this tiny little road. Well,
we're up there on that road and I see a

(12:29):
sign and it's like, you're at twelve or ten thousand,
seven hundred feet, and I look at him and I'm like.

Speaker 4 (12:34):
What where where are you taking?

Speaker 2 (12:35):
They're laughing.

Speaker 3 (12:37):
They cannot get enough I am honestly, I'm like, just
let me out. I'll walk to the bottom. You guys
can pick me up. I'm not gonna be that guy
tumbling down the side of the mountain while you guys chuckle.
Million dollars highway in Colorado, eleven thousand feet of elevation
isn't dangerous because of speed, It's danger just because of

(12:57):
everything else. Yeah, right, jack, No guardrails, sheer drop offs,
sudden weather. Yeah yeah. And and by the way, you
can be up there, and truckers that are listening to
us right now, they know because when you go in
there and you you carry certain loads in that area,
you can't go through this tunnel. So and this be
on the east coast and be on the west coast,
and they make you take these pass roads that go

(13:18):
up and around and come back down the mountain. And
I'm telling you it's horrifying, horrifying.

Speaker 4 (13:23):
I agree with you.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
And they think it's the funniest thing in the world.
And my butt, you couldn't sledgejammer a grease needle up
my ass. I am just I'm literally holding on to
the air. I'm literally holding onto this truck with my butthole,
trying to stay in the truck because I cannot stand it.

Speaker 4 (13:40):
You know why, It's because you tell stories like that,
Everyone's going.

Speaker 3 (13:44):
To do it to you.

Speaker 9 (13:45):
Why wouldn't that most dangerous highway in the United States?

Speaker 3 (13:48):
What is it? You are familiar with it. It's Loveland Pass,
isn't it. That's it's Loveland Pass. I think that's the
name of it.

Speaker 4 (13:54):
Been there, I have been there.

Speaker 9 (13:56):
The most fatal crashes. And this might have to do
with how often it's huese. Oh definitely, four h ninety five.
I don't know I can say one of.

Speaker 3 (14:06):
Them, I ninety five. Is it really? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (14:09):
I thought so.

Speaker 9 (14:10):
Yeah, the data says I ninety five the most dangerous
highway with the most fatal crashes. The highway that runs
up the East coast, unsurprisingly more hazardous in the Northeast
during winter.

Speaker 3 (14:20):
Yeah, yeah, brutal up there, man. And look, I mean,
but when we live in West Virginia for that short
period of time, there are a couple of mountains up
there that are no joke, even go through the Blue Ridge. Yeah,
just driving through the Blue Ridge and even those roads
are wide. You get up in some of those parts
of the Blue Ridge when you when they show you
those vistas, when you make that one corner, and then
it's just like there's nothing. Yeah, it's like, right, that's
what it is. It is you've got in Colorado. You

(14:40):
know this when you like it is a Floridian, But
you have no perspective of where you are in life
because everything's right in your face. Like out there you
can look down and you can see out and see
how far you are. There's this one area right before
you get the Aspen where you're hauling as it's like
seventy miles an hour, and it looks like you're just
gonna fly off into the nether and you take this
left right. But when you get up there and you're

(15:02):
on the outside lane and you're going like sixty five
seventy miles an hour, what up there? It just it
just feels so patently unsafe. Yes, and you great, and
he's just like and like you said, as soon as
you make that turn, it's like, oh, there's no sound.
It's like a vacuum.

Speaker 4 (15:21):
We've driven even if Italys have like in Amalfi on
those little corners and stuff. My husband rocked it. He
drove and I just sat there and terrified the whole time.

Speaker 3 (15:29):
No, wait, I'm not doing it.

Speaker 9 (15:31):
Yes, it's scary, not fun for your boy, Carrie all right?
Four seven nine six o one.

Speaker 3 (15:35):
What'd you do? That's new? Next?

Speaker 1 (15:36):
And another to win a grand in your hand is
minutes away on Real Radio one oh four point one,
brought to you by.

Speaker 11 (15:41):
Mill's Air from the Klosmon Law Traffic Center. Car crash
called Klosmanlaw Klosmanlaw dot Com.

Speaker 12 (15:49):
Accidents in Seminole County I for eastbound the off ramp
to the Lake Mary Rest area is currently blocked again
due to a crash. There accident to have blocking the
right lane stand Lake Road forty two eastbound.

Speaker 3 (16:06):
Hey Jimmy, so I have flown Spirit Delta in Southwest. Oh,
you saw it. I knew it was coming. You can't
even mistake doing this. You cannot do it. These guys
will never let you forget it. They bring up the
thing that I did thirty five years ago when I
was on the air with the with the monsters. It

(16:27):
wasn't even the monsters then, and I did a bit
about catfish, and to this day, thirty five years later,
people will come up and mention that.

Speaker 4 (16:33):
To me thirty five I did one time and when
I was first starting like alternative radio, I mentioned Rage
against the Machine. They have a song called down Rodeo
and I was just kidding and I said, oh, down Rodeo,
you know, and I got like hate mail yeah from
the Rage fans, like, how dare you say it wrong?

Speaker 3 (16:51):
Yeah? Yeah, how about you get a sense of humor?

Speaker 6 (16:55):
Right?

Speaker 3 (16:55):
All right? Your four keyword is grand and that's g
R A and the slide or two Real Radio dot
him and send that away for your chance at a
thousand bucks. I have no idea why rosses in the
background with his head covered of his face. Yeah, I
guess we'll find out a minute. Let's do what you do.
That's new. Look at that shirt, you know what.

Speaker 9 (17:17):
They need to do. So, because it's Ross's pick today
that we're reviewing, we brought him on to introduce it. However,
a Tuesday at this time, he's doing full daddy duty.
So he's got to sun miles with him and you
can see it if you're watching.

Speaker 3 (17:35):
That's aw uh. Real Radio dot FM slash one. He
looks fake. He looks like a like a cartoon that
came to life, is exactly what he looks like.

Speaker 2 (17:44):
It's unreal.

Speaker 13 (17:45):
What do you say when you see a good day?

Speaker 2 (17:49):
All right, we'll take it. Yeah, there he goes.

Speaker 13 (17:53):
You might hear a couple of baby noises. But I'm
here to tell you how intense of a YouTube video was.

Speaker 3 (17:58):
That it was.

Speaker 9 (18:00):
And there were a couple of parts of it right
to look Away, America's deepest cave, and it was about
a cave explorers, and it was it's in it's in
Georgia and North Georgia, North Georgia, and they go down
and it was it's pretty wild, and it seemed it's
one of those things where this is not a Disney ride.
This this could definitely end poorly. Oh yeah, and it

(18:23):
has for a number of people. It has ended poorly
for a number of people who have passed away in
that cave.

Speaker 3 (18:27):
Actually, before they start the story, part of the story
is four or five clips of news stories reporting that
people have died in that cave.

Speaker 4 (18:34):
I always wanted to a splunker. Actually, that was like
one of my things until I really went into the cave.
When I was a kid, and I was like, no,
this is not for me.

Speaker 13 (18:43):
I don't know what it was, but this was one
of the first couple of pieces of content that got
me really really into caves. It's the danger, it's the exploration,
it's the fact that nobody has been here before. There
are parts of the cave in that video just untouched
for what a million years?

Speaker 3 (19:02):
Oh well, how long ever it took to format? Yeah,
I mean it could be forever, you know, I mean
it really is insane, dude, I mean, how did you
stumble onto this particular piece of information.

Speaker 2 (19:10):
Cave algorithm, dude, cave algorithm.

Speaker 13 (19:13):
You just well, once you get into something, it just
keeps feeding you all the same stuff. And how about
this that the guy who's caving doing all the cathing
is his name is Magnus. Did you pick up on
the joke of all the other so Magnus was like
a British explorer and then and then he's hanging out
with a bunch of Americans basically finding out that Americans

(19:34):
are a little bit crazy.

Speaker 3 (19:35):
Yeah, yeah, yeah. The gunshot thing.

Speaker 13 (19:38):
Yeah, there's gunshots that's involved in this video. When he's
just blown away by Why would you guys shoot a
wall and he basically responds with why not or how
about that? The guy's name is Magnus, And then one
of the Americans make the jokes like halfway through the
track when.

Speaker 3 (19:54):
They're like, oh, you're not the chess guy. Yeah. It
was funny because they went into this one area and
the and the Magnus guy goes, what is the what
is that on the wall there? What is that? And
he goes, well, we are in Georgia. There are some rednecks.
Those are gunshot holes. He goes. He goes, so somebody
fired off a gun in this cave. That's gonna ricocheted
back and hit him, and goes, yeah, that's.

Speaker 4 (20:16):
What you get in the South.

Speaker 9 (20:18):
And it also seemed like his guides they were pretty
cavalier about the whole thing, right, It's like they it
was like, yeah, joking with him, It's like, oh, it's
gonna get tighter. But also the fact that he went
into it knowing that there were really narrow passages and
that he even I don't know if he was playing
it up, but he was like, you know, if he

(20:38):
can't fit, he's gonna have and he doesn't get stuck.
He's gonna have to reverse and go back the other way,
which is more difficult than continuing forward.

Speaker 3 (20:48):
No can. Yeah, because there's that one place where I
guess when you have to splunk down this giant shaft
that always has water running down it, right because it
catches water. And they continually warn him, They're like, look, man,
there are flash floods around here, and it will fill
this cave up. Then they flashed to a shot when
they do when they went in there one time before,
and it looked like a horror movie. This dude is
in a cavern and you know, and it's filled water

(21:11):
except for the top five inches where he's breathing. And
I'm like, are you do this voluntarily? Yeah?

Speaker 13 (21:17):
And there are there are parts of the cave that
you have to take off your bag to go through.
What There's parts of the cave where you have to
put your arms up to make sure that you become
as narrow as the hole allows. It Just an insane
activity that's really grabbed my passion.

Speaker 4 (21:38):
The corkscrews. The corkscrews are they call it, and they
the guy had to push him through. Crazy.

Speaker 3 (21:46):
I tell you. The part I've liked about it the
most is is there's a drawing of the cave right
and you get and it shows you all of the
different channels and areas, and it shows you kind of
where they are while they're showing you video of them
being there, which I thought was awesome. I'm gonna gives
you an idea of how long it takes to traverse
that space. They were down there for fifteen hours. To

(22:07):
go from the entrance to the other side took them
fifteen hours. And there are two places where they have
to splunt down once one hundred and eighty feet I
think the other one's like three hundred and fifty feet.

Speaker 4 (22:17):
It's crazy. It was a crazy video. I watched the
whole thing beginning to end.

Speaker 3 (22:20):
It was great thing.

Speaker 2 (22:23):
Ending.

Speaker 13 (22:24):
The whole thing ends with a waterfall that they have
to climb up on a rope.

Speaker 2 (22:29):
The rope is getting wet and the waterfall.

Speaker 13 (22:31):
It just insane stuff that makes me go like, these
are the real adventurers out there.

Speaker 9 (22:37):
So that's when it got real interesting at the end there. First,
of all those ropes for those major drops they're there.
They have those there, so you wonder, what's the integrity
of that rope when it's constantly being wet with the
mug with the mud and stuff, and that grip that
they used to I forget whether you call it when
you go up a rope with that.

Speaker 3 (22:57):
I was just writing Girls the Other climb about that.

Speaker 9 (23:00):
They create a little slack, move it up into grabs,
and they like inch worm their way up. They get
to the top, and then they go from that. And
there were like they kept showing the map and there
were like three more sections. Suddenly they're near the end
and he even he says, yeah, at the end, we
were just in survival mode. We weren't filming as much.

(23:21):
Oh yeah, because when they're filming you actually you have
to stop. You have to like the cameraman has to
get ahead of you. You try and get all the
shots that you can. And you could tell at the
end they're like, this was what sixteen hours.

Speaker 3 (23:34):
Yeah, fifteen hours, fifteen and a half hours whatever.

Speaker 9 (23:37):
They started at nine am one day and then went
straight through. They're eating recent peanut butter cups in there.
Yea half a bottle watery, that's yea. And then at
the end you're like, yeah, we were just in survival
mode at the end, and we weren't even filming as much.

Speaker 3 (23:51):
And how about the one time when when he's going
up that cheft that jacket is talking about that has
the waterfall, they put this bag on him and everything,
and and as he's about to go, he goes, he goes.
Let me remind you don't look up, because people have
drowned doing this. In other words, they look up and
they try to see where they're going and the water
comes down and drowns them as they're dangling there on
a rope and the plastic.

Speaker 9 (24:11):
They literally put a garbage bag over him and cut
a hole out for his face and then put his
gear back on him.

Speaker 13 (24:19):
And just like there's so many factors that plays a
role into caving. How about the fact when they first
show up and they're like, yeah, we got to keep
an eye.

Speaker 2 (24:26):
On flash floods, floods, and it's just rained.

Speaker 13 (24:30):
It's been raining a lot, so the soil isn't going
to absorb at any water.

Speaker 3 (24:34):
Yeah, it's saturated. It's gonna and you'll get the runoff
and they'll fill these caves up. And then they kind
of start making semi jokes about it, and the guys
that have never been down there kind of start asking
if there are you know, is this real? And the
guys are like, yeah, I mean, you know, could happen.
I mean it could happen. They were a little cavalier
for my case. They were I need you to be
a little more serious when we're one thousand feet underground.

(24:55):
Great pick, Ross, Yeah, good job.

Speaker 2 (24:57):

Speaker 4 (27:46):

Speaker 3 (28:02):
Wow, that's crazy. That's awesome.

Speaker 4 (28:04):
You might call me twenty five times a day, but yes.

Speaker 3 (28:06):
Are you serious?

Speaker 4 (28:07):
Wow, I've had a chance to meet him, great guy.

Speaker 3 (28:09):
All right, Welcome back to the Jim Colbert Show here
on Real Radio one oh four point one. Hey, I
wanted to cleose up on real quick. Wife and I
had a conversation last night, and I wanted to see
what you guys thought. This is just a silly kind
of thing we were talking about because of an experience
we had. Right, No, we didn't have a fight. I
had nothing to do with that. What band do you

(28:29):
believe carried their lead singer to success? Ben Helen? So
all right?

Speaker 4 (28:38):
Oh, I know, yeah, was this part of the argument.

Speaker 3 (28:42):
It wasn't an argument per se, because we had an
experience with a band and it was kind of like
one of those things where like I think that's the
best band with the worst singer that's been successful and
I and we both kind of looked at him, like
who do you think it is? And she said the
same exact thing I did, because of an experience that
we had. And it's so funny because I went online

(29:04):
and I typed this in and there is a feed
and uh, I forget what platform it was, and it
kind of asked the same question. And I don't know
if you guys get this same kind of satisfaction, but
when I clicked on the feed, the very first answer
was exactly the answer. So I love that for some reason.
I don't know why that's so fulfilling.

Speaker 9 (29:21):
My wife has one because she constantly tells me it's
a band I love, and she's like, I love the band,
I can't stand the singer. No, no, not because you
don't like the singer. No, no, it's the singer is bad.
That's what she says. And also the fact that hell
scat and make up lyrics and it's the red hot
Chili peppers and Anthony Keatis.

Speaker 3 (29:44):
That's exactly who we said. Is it really buy a million?
And I'll tell you why. Have you ever seen it?

Speaker 4 (29:51):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (29:52):
It was one of the worst shows we've ever seen
in our lives. We actually we actually flew to New
Orleans to see them, to have a week and now
the light show was one of the most unique I've
ever seen in my life.

Speaker 9 (30:04):
I went to the same show when it was here,
and it's when they it covered the floor area with
all of each one was independently moving, and it was do.

Speaker 3 (30:12):
You remember that. I've never seen anything like it. It
was a it was a like a blanket of light
staying on the audience right, and each light was imagine
like a pendant light like you would have hanging a rabar, right,
and they were like cylindrical and they could light up
and do different colors and stuff. Well they could control
those individually, almost like those drone shows. And it was remarkable,

(30:33):
Like it was like if it wouldn't have been for that,
the show would have been a total loss.

Speaker 9 (30:37):
And not only that, any seat you had, like if
you were in the back, you had a different show
experience than the people on the floor or the people
on the side, because they took up the whole thing
and it would do waves and stuff, and because they
could change colors, it was almost like a video screen.
It was wild because of what they could do with that.
I like that show. I like him as a lead singer,

(31:01):
but I think he has definitely been out kicking his
coverage for most of me because.

Speaker 3 (31:06):
I mean, you have one of the best drummers, you
have one of the best rock base players, and for
Shanti does not get enough credit for his guitar playing.
But he's also kind of remarkable and again one of
the best base one of the best rock bass players
of all time. And one of the other ones keep
with van Halen was another big guest there with that. Yeah,
the other one too, and I agree with this one
as well, but real quick caveat with van Halen.

Speaker 9 (31:28):
At the time, I think David Lee Roth but I
think he was perfect for that time in their band.

Speaker 3 (31:37):
But it just he hasn't aged well. Yeah, but you
gotta remember the idea of rock and roll has changed,
because back in the day, being the front man was
the most important thing, because let's face it, Mick Jagger
doesn't have a great voice, but he is the best
front man that's ever lived in rock and roll. But
now you know, you want your rock guys to have
great voices, and a lot of these guys have incredible voices.

(31:58):
I mean, even with bands like Slipknot, you say, well,
it's hardcore music, but you listen to Corey Taylor's voice.

Speaker 9 (32:03):
And he's always on key, always perfect. Who do you
think one of the other ones was, I don't know,
Rashing Pumpkins. Oh no, you can't Billy back in the
night he did that whole album himself.

Speaker 4 (32:16):
He did yes, when as a whole band was like
they're doing their thing whatever they were doing.

Speaker 3 (32:20):
No, they didn't do anything. That's why they all broke
up is because they showed up to uh write the record,
and Billy Corgan basically said, here's your part, here's your part,
and here's your part. We're gonna go record it. We're
gonna go tour behind this record, but you're getting no
writing credits.

Speaker 4 (32:32):
Well, that could have definitely happened. Billy seems very in
control of those things. But I think going to Chili
Pepper's concert, I think it's the whole experience because it
probably was not like you almost don't even think about
how he's singing and stuff because you're singing with him.

Speaker 3 (32:47):
But the problem is he's so off key and a
lot of the parts of of the things like it
just is so glaring.

Speaker 5 (32:52):
Man.

Speaker 9 (32:53):
He didn't have the benefits of the studio for that
controlled environment, so even live, I think he's really exposed.
And that that was the Dark Necessity Store an album
I absolutely love. And it was Josh Klinghoffer, who is
their guitarists on that for that tour and that part
of the band and when they got for Shanti back,
they were like yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (33:14):
Because for a Shanty had an heroin issue, right, and
then he got clean and they brought him back because
I guess his brother is it Khalil? Actually he died
he overdoes yea yeah yeah, and then they brought in
for Shanty. There's a documentary on Netflix came out.

Speaker 4 (33:28):
It just came out. I haven't seen it either, but
it came out like two months ago.

Speaker 3 (33:31):
But there's an old one that shows for Shanty blanked
up on heroin and it's crazy, like it's Banana's Like, dude,
it looks like a he looks like a ghoul. Oh.

Speaker 4 (33:39):
They all had obviously lots of issues. You read their books, yes,
lots of things.

Speaker 3 (33:44):
Can you think of any others? I mean, You're the
You're the rock Guns. I'm trying to think of any
other of those bands. Where somebody said Mike Patton from
Faith no more, but I couldn't disagree with that more.
His voice is kind of a high, unique pitch, but
he's he knows how to sing on key.

Speaker 4 (33:57):
I feel like he knows how to sing on keys.
But I've never seen them live.

Speaker 9 (33:59):
Yeah, so I don't know personality wise, Scot's what.

Speaker 3 (34:05):
I mean. His voice was great. But but again.

Speaker 4 (34:10):
I think when you go to a Creed show you
are singing, it is like an experience.

Speaker 3 (34:14):
Well, the songs are very kind of infectious, right the hook.

Speaker 4 (34:17):
I want to sing with all your friends, and that
you're hanging out. It's more like you're there, not nipicking
on his voice.

Speaker 3 (34:24):
The Texas says Velvet Underground.

Speaker 9 (34:25):
I don't know who that is though, Well, that would
be lou re read right, lou Reid is pretty iconic. Yeah,
But the thing is they don't They didn't really build
their legacies with voice. I mean you could say that
about Neil Young as well, but I mean they built
their legacy by writing incredible melodies and ridiculously important and
deep lyrics.

Speaker 3 (34:41):
That's why. Yeah, interesting all right four oh seven nine
one six one o four one text us at seven
seven zero three one.

Speaker 9 (34:49):
Oh and evil, I writes in Bond Scott versus Brian
Johnson both were great, Yeah, yeah, just different feels. Yet
none of them were the weak guy in the band.

Speaker 3 (34:56):
They were. They were different, but they were both great. Yeah,
But with those two guys, that's where you get into
the argument and rock and roll, where is the new
singer better than the old sing of the original singer?
And I mean you could easily make that that that
argument with with Brian Johnson because of the impact they
had after he joined the band. I mean Back in
Black his top five rock albums. Ever. Yeah, who wrote it? Though?
Do we know? I saw like a conspiracy put out

(35:19):
that Bond didn't write that. They wrote that four Bond. Yeah,
Bond died and they actually wrote that as an homage
to Bond Scott.

Speaker 9 (35:26):
I think it's saying I'm just saying that some people
are saying, what are people saying? Some people are saying
that Bond Scott wrote bon Scott had a lot to
do with that album, And I'm just saying.

Speaker 3 (35:38):
I think the young guys actually talked about writing a
lot of the songs and those riffs and stuff. So
I think that was like an homage to Bond.

Speaker 9 (35:45):
Ac DC I don't I just love them. I'm so
mad I went to Rockville last year instead of a CDC. Really,
I'm still kicking myself.

Speaker 4 (35:52):
Did you see it rock I kind of I'll be
honest with you, I would have loved to have gone
to see.

Speaker 9 (35:57):
I was bouncing back. And I've seen them a handful
of times. I mean the time my Mescaline was the
best by far, however, I mean I was five feet
from the stage.

Speaker 3 (36:07):
It was chaos.

Speaker 14 (36:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (36:08):
Yeah, man, that's so crazy. Of all the bands, you know, again,
I grew up in the eighties, so a lot of
those rock bands from the eighties, like Priest and Maiden,
I never got to see those guys. I saw Guns
and Roses, I've seen Motley Crue and and some of
those bands, but I never got to see the real
core bands that I wanted. I wanted to see Iron
Maiden so bad back in the day when they could
actually jump around and have some fun.

Speaker 4 (36:27):
I've never seen them either.

Speaker 3 (36:29):
Yeah, But I mean when you I still think some
of the best videos in the history of rock is
when you watch Maiden playing Brazil or any of the
big rock bands playing in South America, where they absolutely
worship like you know, American and dark metal from the
you know, from the Sweden, Norway. In those areas, they
love that stuff more than anything.

Speaker 4 (36:47):
And they do stage presence and things and build all
this great Romstein the band Romstein, which I really only
know a few songs. But they they come in and
they build like a city for one show. It's yeah,
pretty wild.

Speaker 3 (37:00):
It's funny. I just saw a video about somebody talking
about opening or having a Ramstein or Ramstein or whatever,
it's open for you. And he goes, he goes, you know,
I met the lead singer like backstage, and the lead
singer goes, it was actually you know it was it
was it was red hot chili peppers. It was where
chat Smith was talking about that. He he goes, yeah,

(37:20):
I met the singer. He goes to the singer and
he goes, He goes, I love your s and he goes,
and he goes, he goes, and chat Smith says, uh,
why do you guys use so much?

Speaker 15 (37:29):
Fine?

Speaker 3 (37:29):
He goes, there are three kinds of fire. There is
fire of passion, and then there's fire of the heart,
and then there's just fire. He's like this crazy mania.

Speaker 4 (37:40):
Sounds exactly like their concert. Like that actually sounds like
and it makes sense.

Speaker 3 (37:44):
I went through a worm Do you do the YouTube
like wormhole thing?

Speaker 4 (37:47):
Sometimes I try not to. Though I try not to, I.

Speaker 3 (37:50):
Get sucked into it like a rabbit. It's so terrible,
and I find myself watching live performances of Romstein doing
due host all over the world. Is if you ever
get in a bad mood and you just want to
feel andro af, just go watch Romsign sing like doing
du hoas live anywhere. It's at these big metal It

(38:11):
is crazy. It's crazy, so much fun to watch though.
All right, and I wanted to get in this conversation
real quick. We can start now, maybe go a little
bit later. But have you been paying attention to any
of the AI stuff with artists.

Speaker 4 (38:22):
It's interesting, it's kind of crazy.

Speaker 14 (38:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (38:25):
The the Taylor Swift one, right, so that that hit
today And one of the reasons why bring this up
is because Taylor Swift is actually she's trying to copyright
her voice, her likeness, and there was something else and
it's this big fight against AI. So I started reading
this story. It's a CNN story if you guys want
to check it out. She filed new trademark applications for

(38:46):
two voice clips and one image, and the image is
the one with her the pink guitar wearing that like
one Z thing that's sequinned and stuff. It's a very
famous picture of hers, maybe one of the most famous.
I think it's from the Aras tour, and so what
they're trying to do is get ahead of AI and
the threat that it poses to their branding. And I
find it very interesting because this is really what we're

(39:07):
seeing here is the onset of an entire We're watching
the Internet kind of all over again right here.

Speaker 4 (39:13):
There's all these new things.

Speaker 3 (39:14):
Yeah you can.

Speaker 4 (39:16):
I mean the AI stuff is really crazy to me.

Speaker 3 (39:18):
Yeah it is, because I mean, you know, and you
think about us, I mean, we make her are living
with our voices. I mean theoretically, you know, they could
AI because there's so much voice of us out there.
It would be no problem for them to create an
AI agent that sounds exactly like us, very true, and
be able to do that. And that's what she's trying
to do. And she's not the only one though. I
saw an interesting story Like Matthew McConaughey. He has like
eight trademarks exactly. He got a way ahead of this,

(39:39):
And I think this is going to be the wave
that maybe is the ability to kind of control what
this thing does when it comes to entertainment, because I
think the I think it's still on the fence, man,
because here's the thing. When you look at a production
if you're a production company and you're a movie studio, right,
and you think to yourself, well, who can I find
that will allow me to license their likeness for ai production? Right,

(40:00):
Because now there's going to be an entire different legal
genre just for doing this for people because of the
value of it. It's like selling your portfolio, right, your
record portfolio or your music portfolio. We see a lot
of artists doing, right, they're kind of getting ahead of that.
It's the same kind of thing. And it's very interesting
to watch this because we're watching it in real time

(40:20):
and we're going to see these things play out and
how they're kind of argued by courts of who has what.
But man, if you're a production company and you think, wow,
I'd love to make this movie, but I really want
this cast, and this cast is going to cost me
ten million dollars just to get them on the lot
before we even start paying for production cost. Or I
can license that for a thousand bucks or two thousand
dollars or eight thousand dollars or whatever it is for

(40:42):
that specific licensing group. And there are some artists that
are keen to that. Yeah, there are there are artists
that are like, hey, man, do that you pay me
one hundred grand? You can use my name and likeness.
A matter of fact, there's a girl online and she
is the rep for an old songwriter named Stephen baldwo No.
He was a songwriter from back in the day in

(41:04):
the eighties and nineties, and he wrote some pretty popular songs.
And her Instagram channel is basically talking about how she
negotiates deals for his record rights and for his music rights.
And I gotta tell you, dude, it's fascinating because it's
so limited and finite, how they can dial in what
they want. So this record company or this company in

(41:25):
Japan wants to buy one of his songs and they
have to list out exactly how they're gonna use it,
and they can't use anymore. And if they do, they
can be fine, and they can they can they can
find me. And it is bananas because she goes and
this guy's a noe, not a nobody, but he's kind
of a nobody. He like, wrote two pretty good songs
and has lived off of that money being part of that,

(41:47):
and now he's able to license that and make money
off of it. And you think about somebody who actually
has some juice, and how crazy that's going to be
in the next like maybe eight ten years, just based
on how they license that stuff is gonna be very interesting.

Speaker 4 (41:58):
Well, it's even just like the Internet when I first started,
and you think about pictures, right, we would just share things.
So share things. Now you share something, you're in trouble.

Speaker 3 (42:05):
There's you know, there's so.

Speaker 4 (42:05):
Many rules now.

Speaker 3 (42:06):
It's so funny like that are like, hey, do more
on social for us, it just workful. And I'm like
and then I'm like, have you guys read the emails
you're sending out? How you're telling you everybody's gonna cost
us thirty five thirty five thousand dollars a time that
we reshare a picture that we're not supposed to. And
then we get an email just the other day and says, well,
you can't use this group of pictures anymore. I'm like, what,
That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (42:27):
We're watching that with AI happen because it's such an
open field right now.

Speaker 3 (42:31):
It's crazy, all right? Four oh seven nine one six
one four one text us at seven seven zero three
one back in a second with more than Jim Colberg
shows they put.

Speaker 1 (42:39):
Real music Weekends are Classic Alternative, Classic Alternative This weekend
on Real Radio one oh four point one.

Speaker 3 (42:51):
From the o DO dot Com Weather Center. Oh do
dot Com the only business software you will need.

Speaker 16 (42:59):
I'm thirty five Swertain Team Meteorologists Jessica Dobbs with the
check of your Central Florida forecast and for our Tuesday,
we are going to be expecting temperatures to steadily heat
up into the mid and upper.

Speaker 10 (43:09):
Eighty Good afternoon, Callbert crew. So, Jimmy, I got two
bones to pick with you. The first one I let
go because it was a few months ago.

Speaker 17 (43:21):
But now the second one, I gotta say something to
you as far as I was at the Jason Bonham
show and you made the comment that Physical Graffiti has
only three good songs Sacrilege that is their best album
start to finish, and second of all, Freddie Mercury with Queen,
best front main ever saw him live, absolutely amazing.

Speaker 3 (43:39):
Yeah all right, that's all I got.

Speaker 18 (43:41):
All right, Hey guys, I hope you guys going well. So,
melt I saw Romstein in Philadelphia. Oh my god, what
an amazing show. Pydrotechnic's crazy. Every time you looked up
that you could see the sky because it was full
of smoke. What an amazing show. Thanks by.

Speaker 2 (43:59):
How do you guys feel about this?

Speaker 3 (44:00):
Hot take?

Speaker 5 (44:01):
Creed is just the nineties version of Nickelback. Their songs
are catchy, but they suck. But you just can't help
but sing every song of them because they're so dang catchy.

Speaker 6 (44:13):
Yeah, all right, my example is in sync.

Speaker 19 (44:16):
No, the rest of the guys didn't carry Justin Timberlay
to success, but Justin was labeled the cute one and
he was more popular, but he was not the strongest singer.

Speaker 6 (44:26):
Everybody knows that. With j C. Will go listen to this,
I promise you and I dramaself crazy.

Speaker 19 (44:33):
You can see the vocal difference on those two top
five Justin Timberlay his his solo catalog cannot be touched.

Speaker 6 (44:41):
But he was not the strongest singer in the scene.

Speaker 3 (44:43):
It was not I agree, Jeff Charlotte, North Carolina, all right,
I saw the Red Chili Peppers that year when the
had on that wild playing show.

Speaker 2 (44:54):
Amazing what.

Speaker 20 (45:00):
To the Coberg crew.

Speaker 14 (45:02):
I'm at my job. Okay, we'll know what that is. References,
that's not the point anyways, Look at the look. This
is my stest for y'all. Watch that Red Holly Red
Hot Chili Pepper's special. When I tell you, they left
me speechless, I cried, I cheered at the end.

Speaker 3 (45:23):
Well I'm not regretting.

Speaker 1 (45:24):
Yeah, that Cavvis done.

Speaker 3 (45:29):
Man, Yeah, dude, I mean Mother's Milk and Blood Sugar
Set Some Sex Magic, two of the best records you
know of the late eighties and nineties. I think you
can get. There's no question. And that's not the point.
The point is the band is very good. But the
point is the band is so good they carry a
guy who is probably a C plus singer. Maybe my
wife has been saying that for years, so yeah, yeah, man.

(45:51):
And look, here's the thing in rock and roll. You
don't have to be a great singer. You have to
have a lot of presents. I mean stage show means
a lot, and vibe means a lot, and those guys
have a lot of that.

Speaker 12 (45:59):
You know.

Speaker 9 (46:00):
My wife points out, it's just there is like half
of it is gibberation in California because California Comah.

Speaker 3 (46:08):
But they've been so relevant for so long, I mean decades.
They broke nineteen eighty three. I was gonna say they
broke in the early eighties, and I've been relevant until then.
Right now, they could tour and they would sell out.

Speaker 4 (46:17):
Of reenas they're working on a new album, right really
they are, I don't know that.

Speaker 9 (46:20):
So when I programmed weekend music for the Classical Alternative
on the weekend, I'll break it up by decades and
it's one of the bands where I get to play
something from the eighties, from the nineties and the two thousands.

Speaker 2 (46:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (46:32):
Yeah, one of the few bands you could do that. Actually,
for sure.

Speaker 4 (46:34):
I was at a Christmas party once and they had karaoke.
It was a hotel. It was somewhere I think it
was my first started, so this could have been like
fifteen years ago. Anyways, we had a party and I
did karaoke give it away, and I thought that I
knew all the words to the song, and the words
came and I was I was mortified because I didn't
know the words. I was like, oh my gosh, I

(46:57):
am I thought for the last twenty years, ten years,
however long the song was out, I was seeking the
wrong words.

Speaker 3 (47:02):
Yeah that Lon, That's so funny. Uh You mel and
I were talking during the right by the way, Welcome
back to the Jim Colbert Show. I'm Jim el Taylor
with us today. Jack is here as well. We were
talking during the break and I was like, of all
the shows we've gotten to see, and she dropped like
a really, really obscure band I've never heard of. She
got to see them at Red Rocks. We were actually
just talking about shows at Red Rocks just the other day.
But like I told her, I said, well, I got

(47:23):
to see Molly Crue and Rat And those are two
guys that appeared on that list because Vince Neil's a
terrible singer instead of Stephen Pearcy. Their most terrible singers,
but the bands and the song's kind of covered up
for them for many, many years, many years. Yeah, and
I got to meet Vince and that guy is a man,
and sometimes that that guy's a turkey leg of a
human being.

Speaker 9 (47:43):
Sometimes you don't have to be a great singer, but
sometimes it's a match for the band. I think Cake
is a thing. I love the band Cake, But at
first I didn't. I was just like he's just talking.

Speaker 3 (47:52):
Yeah, it was a discording for me.

Speaker 9 (47:55):
I'm like, this isn't good, and but it grew on
me and now I absolutely love it. Matter of fact,
they're coming in the fall.

Speaker 4 (48:01):
Yeah, in KKRD.

Speaker 3 (48:02):
I can't I can't wait. I'm gonna go see that show. Really,
I didn't know they were coming. Yeah, Wow, that'd be
kind of fun.

Speaker 4 (48:08):
Yeah, he's an interesting guy. I don't even remember his
name of me right, the singer. We did a show
with him downtown. This is my old radio station, and
they were headlining the show and he came out for
like there, you know, did the soundcheck, and he had
a briefcase and I saw him coming, and he came
and he put his briefcase down right by the microphone
and he sang and then he left. He never said

(48:31):
a word, so like anybody in the band, just did
the soundcheck with the band, but they just, like I guess,
knew what they were supposed to do. And then he
left and then that was it. John McCrae, Yes, by
the way, Yes, he's an interesting guy.

Speaker 3 (48:43):
That's interesting.

Speaker 14 (48:43):
Good.

Speaker 3 (48:44):
That's the same thing I saw happened with Motley Crue.
But that was way we knew why that was because
they all hated each other. Yes, Well, actually that's not true,
because we know Nikki six and Tommy where have been
friends and for a long time, but Mick Mars was
always kind of a recluse, and then Vince was a douchebag,
so they never really chilled. And I remember specifically they
played the Tupperware Center years ago, and we did a

(49:04):
bit because I go I went out as part of
a radio bit to help promote the show, to help
load like the confetti cannons and stuff like that, and
kind of be a like a what do they call them?
My like not a stage hand, but what is the
ROADI yeah, it was a roady for the day, right,
And part of the roady thing was is I got
to meet the band, right, And so I got to
meet NICKI and I got to meet Tommy. Mick never

(49:27):
came out, but I remember this for sure. Now it
was about showtime. They're all out there on stage, and
this is true, This is one hundred percent true. They
are literally playing the opening of the first song and
Vince pulls up in a car, walks out of the
car onto the stage, does this show. The car stays
there with the.

Speaker 4 (49:45):
Door open, He gets back in into sleeves.

Speaker 3 (49:48):
The show, thank you, good night, case Simmy, blah blah blah,
We'll see you next year, whatever, he puts the mic
in the stand, walks right to the car and leaves.
Never said anything in the band, never interact interacted with him,
never made eye contact at all, came out, did the show,
and then left. And then Nikki and Tommy were there
the entire day. They were there hanging out like the
entire day. Mick marsh was like, I guess a sleep
in the room. But but and then we never had

(50:10):
in the other weird experiences with the Monkeys. We had
a weird experience with a couple of the members of
the Monkeys.

Speaker 4 (50:14):
They were really well, It's always weird though, when you
really like a band, you know, and then something goes.

Speaker 9 (50:20):
Wrong and they're like never never meet your heroes. Yeah, right,
and this sometimes again, just talking about this the other day.
You know, White Snake was gigantic in the eighties.

Speaker 4 (50:29):
They were like one of my top five favorite bands, right, like.

Speaker 3 (50:31):
One of the best. Then I want to and maybe
the most underrated guitar player of all time in the eighties.
What was that guy's name, Doug, I'm not gonna remember
the guy's name, Coverdale. He was the singer, oh, guitar player. Yeah, yeah,
I get it, because there's two of them, but the
one guy is that riff monster that played for them,

(50:53):
and that guy is a beast and he never gets
really talked about when it comes to the eighties guitar
hero John sykesg Doug doug Aldridge, that guy is a
monster guitar player.

Speaker 15 (51:03):
Right.

Speaker 3 (51:04):
Well, when they were coming in here for something, I
think maybe Coverdale was touring behind that other thing he did,
because he did a thing called Coverdale's Something. Yes it
wasn't it wasn't White Snake, it was Coverdale and then another,
but he did.

Speaker 4 (51:16):
All the songs, had some other solo stuff he had.

Speaker 3 (51:19):
So he comes in in the studio over there where
he used to be and I was expecting, like, oh
my god, this guy is going to be a nightmare,
you know, because I mean they you're just a gigantic band.
And he was like the nicest, most regal dude. You've polite,
like overboard English polite.

Speaker 4 (51:36):
Oh I love that. That's good.

Speaker 3 (51:38):
And he looked exactly like he did on stage. He's
like six', three he's, Giant he's got this, giant flowing curly.
Hair his waist is like a twenty. Two he's like
he's like he wears like twenty two forty two's had
these boots on and he was he sits down and, goes, hi,
gentleman what would you like to talk? About and he
was just like so cool, man that's good to. Know

(51:59):
and the other one was Like, styx Like Dennis. DeYoung
another one was one of this incredible artists that we
got to. Meet this band was bigger than life in the.
EIGHTIES i, en you're a six fan ever little? BIT
i mean, yeah but for, us like you, know for
in the late seventies and, Eighties styx was like a, mainstay.
RIGHT i mean they were one of the first bands
that did something kind of out of the box without
Mister roboto. Song yeah, right so that was kind of

(52:21):
a real far. Stretch even the band members didn't know
what to think about.

Speaker 5 (52:24):
It.

Speaker 3 (52:24):
Right, well So Dennis DeYoung comes, in it went and
again it's we expect this guy to have four people
around him if they escort him, in and this is
what you can say and this is what you can't,
say and all. That that's what we expected because this
guy was such a big. Star guy comes in with his,
Wife they set up a chair for, her he sets
a keyboard, down puts his mic right, here puts another
mic in front of the keyboard and looks us and,
goes what do you guys want to? Hear and then

(52:46):
gives us an hour and a half long concert and
it sounds exactly like the. Record it was. Good that
was one of the most incredible Experiences i've ever had
in this building was that day With dennis De young
From stick sitting there literally like a juke box playing.
It and you could probably still hear the recordings to this.
Day you could find the show and it's so, Perfect
like we couldn't get over how amazing it.

Speaker 9 (53:07):
Sounded they play more he justus anything, else and we
were just yelling out.

Speaker 3 (53:12):
Songs we were taking, calls they were yelling out. Songs
he was just banging that.

Speaker 2 (53:15):
Out.

Speaker 3 (53:15):
Awesome it was, great, man that's.

Speaker 4 (53:17):
AWESOME i had one other time where one of my favorite,
Artists sarah McLaughlan all, right some of my, favorites, okay
AND i first started working in. Radio this was In, Austin.
Texas they Did Lilith, fair you, know so it, was you,
know all these women AND i was so pumped to
be there AND i was An INTERNET i was hanging
up signs for the radio station and she's starting to sound,
check and SO i just stop And i'm watching And i'm,

(53:38):
holding you, know my cape and my banner And i'm you,
know just standing there and she stopped singing and has
someone come tell me THAT.

Speaker 3 (53:47):
I need to move?

Speaker 4 (53:48):
Along oh my heart was like crushed, forever you, know
like my mom they went through a divorce like that
was like my, music you, know and just ruined it for.

Speaker 3 (54:01):
Me that's wild, man move a. Lot and it's crazy
because earlier that when during that, talkback somebody took a
shot At creed right and they've gotten so much hate right,
well they like half the band lives In, orlando And
i've been lucky enough to meet not Only Mark, tremonti
BUT i actually got to play golf Of Scott phillips.
Once two of the nicest people you ever, know their
entire line like two of the like two of the,

(54:22):
nicest most, open like, giving Like toronte does a lot
for special needs children In Central florida's awesome and he's
just the most awesome. Dude SO i can't SAY i
don't as much as you, know staff has been, POLARIZING
i can't say anything bad about the band because of
how cool they.

Speaker 4 (54:36):
Are and look at them selling out. EVERYTHING i, mean
they're doing just.

Speaker 3 (54:39):
Fine And Alter bridges are doing okay as. Well, yes.

Speaker 9 (54:41):
Everybody and then he does His sinatra, stuff WHICH i
think is totally cool because that that would be my
secret great genie, Wish, yeah is to be able to
do that just scene Like sinatra.

Speaker 6 (54:53):
Do that.

Speaker 3 (54:54):
Stuff, Yeah, yeah that's. Fun who would you like to
seem like if you had to sing like a it

Them they're coming in tomorrow and that we're doing a
bourbon tasting tomorrow And Scott maxwell is going to join

(59:16):
bourbon fan as. Well mel AND i were just during
the breakout there in the, hallway just kind of whiling
away the, times like all the people that she met
on her, show all the people that we met from
doing our. Thing it's kind of cool to compare and
contrast those. Things it's, wild, Right it's, fun very fortunate
to have met some of the cool people that we
have and someone are kind of? Wild does that mean
it is? Me isn't?

Speaker 5 (59:37):
It?

Speaker 21 (59:37):
All?

Speaker 3 (59:38):
Right four oh seven nine one six one four? One
SO i want to talk about this real quick BECAUSE
i don't understand something and maybe you can help me with.

Speaker 21 (59:44):
This all?

Speaker 3 (59:44):
Right so did you ever Watch Storage? WARS i? Did
did you?

Speaker 1 (59:49):
Do you know what?

Speaker 3 (59:49):
Happened?

Speaker 4 (59:50):
WELL i don't know what, happened BUT i feel LIKE
i just read something here recent that. Happened.

Speaker 3 (59:54):
Yeah, yeah so a storage War wars for people who
do not know what that. IS i, mean it's been
ON tv For Cheese louise ten twelve years or, whatever
and it's basically. This and by the, way who whoever
thought of this concept for THIS tv show could not
be more brilliant and they deserve every nickel they ever
made because it is super. Smart made me want to
buy a Storage my, GOD i can't imagine how many

(01:00:15):
people this this thing.

Speaker 4 (01:00:16):
Broke, really my mom allegedly might do storage wars, really,
yes in real life now so she like, Auditioned, no
not on the, show but does it in real?

Speaker 3 (01:00:27):
Life oh? Really?

Speaker 4 (01:00:28):
Yeah like you're, Local like you do it? Online, now
you can do it. Online you can bid on.

Speaker 3 (01:00:33):
Did you know?

Speaker 1 (01:00:33):
This you.

Speaker 6 (01:00:36):
Can.

Speaker 4 (01:00:36):
Bid it only shows you pictures on the. Outside it
is not very you, know specific about things that are.
Inside but there's a lot of things that you'll learn
by looking at these. Things you bid until it's until
it ends Like eBay or something you, know and.

Speaker 3 (01:00:48):
You'll get it and you'll go and you gotta go get.
It at a certain.

Speaker 4 (01:00:51):
Time, yeah you have within twenty four, hours.

Speaker 3 (01:00:53):
And you have to take everything in. It you can't
go pick up within twenty four, hours. Right and one
of the big things with The Storage wars when they
did the show is like people wondered if they opened
up those things, beforehand went through, it picked all the
good stuff out and did. That and that's still one
of the big concerns now because the people who run
the storage units do have that well some of them
do have, access some of them don't because the lock
you put, on so that's why they have to cut

(01:01:14):
the lock off all the. Time, yes but there that
was one of the. Things well for people who don't,
know it's exactly What mel. Said they set up A
tv show AND i think it was based on Of
vegas IF i remember, Right and basically this group of
people that were part of the show that all had different.
Personalities there was this one good looking, chicken her. Husband
there was this guy Who, yeah this, guy he would

(01:01:34):
do his thing and they would omit each. Other yeah
for these, units, right who DIDN'T i mean because it
was unique hester he Was, yeah he was that. Guy
and then there's there's a guy Named Darryl sheets And
Daryl sheets went by the name The, gambler and he
was kind of a, simpleton redneck kind of. GUY i
shouldn't say, simpleton but he kind of came off that like,

(01:01:55):
that you, know just kind of a real down to
earth kind of guy who went through and did this
thing and he got into this. Game and his relationship
With Dave, hester THE Yep, guy was kind of part
of what drove the show because they didn't like each
other on, camera you, know they had butted heads a,
Lot they'd try to outbit each other a, lot and
there was this obvious competition between the two of, them
WHICH i think actually gave the show kind of it's

(01:02:15):
heart for.

Speaker 9 (01:02:16):
Sure, Right, yeah there's a, story was a backstory, there right,
exactly very very popular show for many many. YEARS i
think it's actually still in the air right.

Speaker 3 (01:02:23):
Now so real.

Speaker 9 (01:02:24):
Quick first of, All california it takes, okay, yeah because
after thirty six, days if you don't pay, rent that's
when they can. Now oh so they have access to
the units, there, yeah, yeah. Okay so it started in twenty.
Ten it was thirty minute episodes up until last year
when they expanded to sixty minute. Episodes how many episodes
you seventeen? Seasons how many episodes do you think are out?

Speaker 22 (01:02:47):
There a?

Speaker 3 (01:02:48):
Lot, yeah three hundred and forty. Nine, wow. Incredible and
they would take you through finding like rare coins and,
guns to, paintings to safes that were full of you,
know old gold. PIECE i, mean it was. Crazy and
then some people would spend five thousand dollars on a
unit and get a bunch of kids toys and old
clothes and it would be worth. Nothing but that was
kind of the. Fun, yeah you, ALMOST i mean you
basically got to sit back and watch these people treasure

(01:03:10):
hunt with their, money.

Speaker 15 (01:03:11):
Right.

Speaker 9 (01:03:11):
Yeah and the payoff at the end is when they
tell like what they were the value of what they
had based compared with what they spent.

Speaker 3 (01:03:20):
On, yeah what they thought so that the whole exactly
What jack. Said they would take it to a pawn,
shopper to a dealer that helt in that special, thing
and they would kind of get the run down they
thought it was worth this much and blah blah blah blah.
Blah well the REASON i bring that up Is Darryl,
sheets the gambler, guy took his own.

Speaker 9 (01:03:34):
Life oh he did take HIS i saw that he
had passed. Away, yeah he took his own, life, right
and he had a son AND i believe a. Wife
but the reason why IS i think the most kind
of unique.

Speaker 3 (01:03:44):
Thing did you? Hear WHY i? DID i just thought
that HE i saw that he had passed. Away so
WHEN i saw WHEN i saw, THAT i, think, oh,
man you, KNOW tv got another, one because you get real, famous,
right and then of course it goes. Away you didn't
really prepare yourself for. Fame you were just digging in storage. Units,
yeah and fame kind of happened upon. You and for
people who don't, realize like if you don't prepare yourself for,
that you, know having notoriety is weird, Sometimes like it's really,

(01:04:07):
weird and we have it at a local level, sometimes
and it's been long gone for me from the, Monsters
LIKE i don't get noticed anywhere. Anymore but if you're
on a national television, show you're gonna get noticed a. Lot.
Right apparently he was cyberbullied so badly by another guy
that he took his own. Life and WHEN i saw this,
STORY i thought to, Myself Now i'm a relatively confident, guy,

(01:04:31):
RIGHT i could not imagine ever in my life that
another adult could bully me online digitally to the point
WHERE i would harm. Myself that's, terrible can? YOU i,
MEAN I i don't understand, it AND i guess maybe
BECAUSE i don't think it can happen to. ME i
don't know if this person who was Cyber and by the,

(01:04:53):
way the Guy Dave hester said that he made the
comment when they asked about him because they thought they
would have something sideways to, say because they kind of wanted.
IT i went at each other so much on the.
Show he, Said, no not only were is that not the.
Case i'm paying for all of his funeral expenses and
everything like that because he Was although we did butt
heads on the, show we understood our value to each
other on the. Program we understood that kind of had

(01:05:14):
to happen for the show to be. Valid and he
said that was a digital. Homicide he, said it wasn't
not a. Suicide this was a digital. Homicide that is.
Terrible isn't that?

Speaker 4 (01:05:24):
Unbelievable like you could it's hard to imagine, really like
what could take place like that or what you're reading
or how like.

Speaker 3 (01:05:31):
What could you possibly say to another LIKE i was
just thinking to, myself like IF i started cyber Bullying jack.
Tonight and let's just SAY i was just a random
listener of the, show BUT i Decided i'm going to
Target Jack bradshaw And i'm gonna start cyber Bullying. Jack
what WOULD i have to say To Jack bradshaw to
make him harm? Himself AND i will tell YOU i

(01:05:52):
went to the ends of my. POSSIBILITIES i couldn't think
of one. Thing, YEAH i could say to somebody Like
jack that hurt, himself the uh he was dealing with this,
narrel sheets was dealing with this for three three, years.

Speaker 9 (01:06:04):
And it's just you, know something that built up over,
time and you don't know how certain people are going
to react to certain. Stimuli and he had a gun
and could he's done with?

Speaker 5 (01:06:16):
It?

Speaker 3 (01:06:16):
Yeah could you imagine?

Speaker 1 (01:06:17):
That?

Speaker 3 (01:06:17):
Jack, THOUGH i, mean And i'm, not by the, Way
i'm not being flip about. This this Is i'm not
trying to make light of this as to be. Joking
this is not the case at. All What i'm trying
to do is understand how somebody who's my. AGE i
think he was in his mid, fifties my, age AND
i don't know anything about his. HEALTH i know there
were a couple ARTICLES i read that said that he
may have had some health issues as, well but every
other ARTICLE i read said that it was because he

(01:06:39):
was cyber. Bullied and you hear that when it comes to,
kids because you can understand kids as, teenagers specifically.

Speaker 4 (01:06:45):
Learning about, yourself you're. Vulnerable all those.

Speaker 3 (01:06:47):
Girls, yeah who feel that they have something to kind
of live up to in, society whether it be a
beauty standard or an intellect standard or whatever the case may.
Be you could see that. Happening we hear about that
all the, time but none of grown, person, right like
a grown man with a career and a family and.
Stuff you couldn't imagine something like that.

Speaker 4 (01:07:06):
HAPPENING i can't. Imagine that's terrible rumor or.

Speaker 9 (01:07:10):
Thoughts people saying that he was suffering from, depression and
that's it when you combine that with mental, illness and
that is what you're hearing over and, over so competing
with the voice in your, head you now have a
voice outside your head saying horrible, things almost supporting what
you're talking about.

Speaker 3 (01:07:26):
Yourself, yeah it can almost be.

Speaker 9 (01:07:28):
Overwhelmed, well it is, Overwhelmed, yeah for many, people and
for people who suffer with different forms of mental.

Speaker 3 (01:07:34):
Illness it's a real. Thing you don't see it on their.

Speaker 9 (01:07:38):
Face it's not something visual like a broken, arm where
you just, understand, oh that person is, wounded that person is. Injured,
no it's something they carry around inside, them and with
that right or that wrong, voice it can lead to tragic.
Consequence that's, interesting, MAN i guess just but from the
nature of my.

Speaker 3 (01:07:59):
Being he's in a relatively small town by you, know
people who are, like you, know get, up put some
dirt on, it you'll be fine type.

Speaker 12 (01:08:04):
Thing you.

Speaker 3 (01:08:05):
Know that whole, idea the idea of being that fragile
is kind of hard to explain. Understand and you, know,
Again i'm not saying that it can't be OR i
may not even wind up that way one. DAY i
don't know how you you don't know how age affects
you as you as you get a little, older how
that may come. ABOUT i, mean there are on set
scenarios that could create. That but like right, now it's
just so hard for me to understand how, somebody as

(01:08:27):
a grown person who's made it this far in, life
had the adversity of making it this far in. Life you,
know could be pushed to that. POINT i just don't get.

Speaker 4 (01:08:35):
It that's very. SAD i had no idea about.

Speaker 3 (01:08:38):
That, yeah, yeah it's. Crazy.

Speaker 4 (01:08:39):
Right, well the fact that you have Your instagram or
your whatever sources of social media that you're, using you
also probably don't sit and go through all your messages
and things like.

Speaker 3 (01:08:49):
That, yeah AND i do not like that's. Different, yeah, yeah,
yeah AND i don't care. Either that's another thing, too
is LIKE, i you, KNOW i JUST i at a
very young, AGE i, realized, like your opinion is not
going to change. Me i'm not gonna you, know you
can have an. Opinion that's, fine it's not gonna hurt my.
FEELINGS i don't get my feelings hurt by, Words so
it doesn't really work like that for. Me BUT i
would never sit and read. Comments BUT i also don't

(01:09:10):
seek out adulation from people like. THAT i don't seek
out that kind of support from people like. That Some
texters are saying people they were creating or this.

Speaker 9 (01:09:18):
Person maybe it's one person creating a fake account in his,
name making him look bad. Publicly someone else mentioned making
him look like a, pedophile also attacking his. Family and
for someone who's already. Suffering it could have just seemed
like there was no escape from, this you.

Speaker 3 (01:09:36):
Know, jack the double edged sort of that maybe is
maybe one of the other things THAT i, think you,
know we could also deal with, here is because it's
mandatory that we have Social, like we don't have a.
CHOICE i. CAN'T i can't in my. Account you can't
do yours, either you, Know jack cannot in his. Accounts you,
know it is mandatory that we have social media accounts
as part of this radio. Broadcast you, know it's part
of our, contracts, DUDE i, mean it's part of it's

(01:09:58):
part of what we, do, Right So i'm sure on
a national television, show they're probably still bound to that same.
Thing you have to have social. Media you have to
be out there digitally so that we're not when we
are not on the, air you're still making contact with
somebody who could watch the. Show three years is a long.

Speaker 4 (01:10:15):
Time it is a long.

Speaker 3 (01:10:16):
Time that's, amazing isn't it? CRAZY i can't imagine that
you would never say anything to a. Copper maybe maybe,
investigate BUT i, mean what would you. Say this guy's
call me bad? Names it seems it seems illegal that
you could maybe he, Did, yeah all right FOUR o
seven nine one six ONE o four one text us

MAN i don't get somebody bullying me over a phone
or WE'RE. TV i don't get somebody can bully me.

Speaker 22 (01:12:03):
They're on a.

Speaker 9 (01:12:03):
Screen to something make me take my.

Speaker 6 (01:12:05):
Life you cannot.

Speaker 3 (01:12:08):
Be bullied that much unless you really get something wrong with.

Speaker 9 (01:12:11):
You thanks.

Speaker 20 (01:12:13):
Man, hey Jem i'd have to say you are way
off face with only young girls have mental health concerns
or body.

Speaker 3 (01:12:21):
Issues that's not WHAT i.

Speaker 20 (01:12:22):
SAID i would say a far more majority of men
are mentally disturbed on a daily basis and struggle with
mental health. Issues it's not just a woman.

Speaker 6 (01:12:32):
Thing i'm gonna be honest with you.

Speaker 3 (01:12:34):
There, yeah, dude let.

Speaker 18 (01:12:35):
Me clear that.

Speaker 3 (01:12:35):
Up so WHAT i said was WHEN i was talking
to Mel is the idea of young ladies dealing with
the pressures of being, pretty not, skinny whatever the case may.
Be dudes don't deal with. That i'm not saying that
dudes don't deal with any of that, stuff but they
don't deal with it the way that girls have to
deal with. It and that's not saying that one is
greater than the, other BECAUSE i know young men are

(01:12:56):
in prices right now as. WELL i, mean they're having difficulties,
identity they're having difficulties creating a social set to meet a,
girl and if they, can't it's starting to turn and
kind of create these this really unique set of young
males who are angry because they can't find somebody that
they can kind of gel with or something.

Speaker 4 (01:13:15):
There and maybe it's just not talked about as much,
either you know when it comes to, men that's you,
KNOW i, MEAN i have four, boys so obviously it's
something for me that LIKE i will live in a different.

Speaker 9 (01:13:24):
World right, then we have come so far in being
able to discuss mental health in a capacity where in
the past it was never. Done but it's still not
all the way, there and there are still people who
are ashamed because of like and Maybe, honestly it's for
how it's looked. At, well you're, saying, WELL i don't.

(01:13:45):
Understand how can you be bullied into doing? That when
combined with mental illness and, depression it's an overwhelming weight of.
Times now people are texting that there's With Daryl. Sheets
you're talking to the guy From Storage wars who took
his life and complained and was attributed to the mental

(01:14:06):
the cyber bullying over the past three. Years according to
the people texting us saying he was trying to get
help for it and trying to stop. It this person
was impersonating them and ruining his business and really affecting
all last ye when you combine that along with depression and,
stuff it just for him he saw no way out.

Speaker 3 (01:14:28):
Right and that's. Understood obviously that's the case because we
have the. Story WHAT i was telling you IS i
can't relate to that Because i've not experienced that. Before and,
again LIKE i said, before doesn't MEAN i won't experience
them BEFORE i pass. Away it could start. TOMORROW i
just haven't experienced that. Yet AND i think it's also
important to SAY i do believe that that young men
right now are in a bit of an identity crisis

(01:14:50):
for a number of, reasons AND i do believe that
social media makes life on them very. DIFFICULT i still
believe that young ladies go through it, worse AND i
WILL i will believe. THAT i just AND i don't
even have any. Data it just seems like it asks
more of young ladies than it does young. Men BUT
i don't even know if that's. True it just seems
like that to. Me, NOW i don't. Disagree i'm really

(01:15:13):
thinking about. Three do you have? DAUGHTERS i have three
daughters in a summer, right and you have and you
have you have, daughters only. DAUGHTERS i have three. Daughters,
now my daughters don't look at like. That they don't
like that's not and and they're not like tied into
social media so much that it's part of their. Life
they have lives outside of, that but they. Don't there's
none of that with. THEM i don't know if they

(01:15:36):
just got. Lucky and my son is, confident well he
doesn't have that, either But i'm not saying he. Can't
they just don't have it.

Speaker 4 (01:15:42):
Now social media is such.

Speaker 3 (01:15:43):
Pressure, yeah, yeah do YOU i, mean do you're you
said your boys don't have any access to it right.

Speaker 4 (01:15:47):
Now, now no social. Media they want a YouTube, channel
but they just want to, fish you, know so they
want to have a fishing channel that's like their.

Speaker 3 (01:15:54):
Thing how do you guys regulate? That that's interesting BECAUSE i,
mean your boys are very. Unique they're good looking, ways
and they're they have cool, names and you guys are great.
Parents you and your husband are wonderful, parents and you've
raised them to be, really really good young. Men make that, money,
Girl that's What i'm. Saying get them on that YouTube
he just.

Speaker 4 (01:16:13):
Started it's a very new, thing BUT i know everything he.
Posts it's very it's very good with The gmail thing
that it tells you exactly everything he, posts what all the,
videos SO i see them before they even go. UP
i think it's, good BUT i can understand how it
can also be.

Speaker 3 (01:16:29):
Something when my guys got, on we had this. Thing
jack actually kind of alluded to it a little bit
earlier that one of the rules once they got their phones,
WAS i, KNOW i have to know your, password and
at any given, moment WHEN i walk up to, YOU
i can take your phone from, you and IF i
popp in your, password your your code that you've given
me and it doesn't, Work i'm breaking the phone in.
Half that's, good that's. Good we're basically taking it away from, you, RIGHT.

Speaker 4 (01:16:52):
I MEAN i have a second grader who some of
his friends have phones. Already, yeah, yeah and it's you,
Know i'm not ready for all.

Speaker 3 (01:16:58):
That and that's. Well, look here's the. Thing you have
one going in the seventh. Grade let me tell you
that's where the pressure really. HITS i, Mean i'm sure
that almost everybody around him has a cell, phone and
it kind of almost makes him an odd man. Out
and that's that's kind of on the same sense as, well,
Right or do you find other parents are.

Speaker 4 (01:17:12):
Doing, that other parents are doing that, too become a little,
packed you, know or they might just have it because
they come, over but they don't have it all the, time, right, right,
Right but when any of those kids have the, phones
they're glued on those.

Speaker 9 (01:17:24):
And whatever you do with that first one or the
other three are. Watching so it's like you're setting a.
Precedent so it's important to get it right from The
so SURE i agree with you and stay on the
same team with your. Husband they will find that. Gap
they will find where mom and dad have a difference
of opinion on, something and they will exploit it like
the little miserable people lay on saying how great your kids,

(01:17:46):
ARE i, know especially if they're middle schoolers or human
beings on.

Speaker 3 (01:17:49):
The, point he's not there.

Speaker 4 (01:17:51):
YET i mean he's sixth, grade but he's still, like you, know.

Speaker 3 (01:17:55):
He's almost.

Speaker 4 (01:17:55):
THERE i know it's seventh.

Speaker 3 (01:17:57):
Grade very. Careful middle schoolers are the, worst most dangerous
human beings on. PLANET i agree with.

Speaker 4 (01:18:02):
YOU i was, ONE i remember, two so it just
some one of the YEARS i actually.

Speaker 3 (01:18:05):
Remember, yeah when you WHENEVER i see, eleven, twelve thirteen year,
OLDER i, RUN i GET i crossed the. ROAD i
mean like they're literally holding a bloody, knife one one
in the.

Speaker 4 (01:18:14):
Other i'm about to have an eleven year old and
a twelve year.

Speaker 3 (01:18:17):
Old zero chance you're, done zero.

Speaker 4 (01:18:19):
Chance just Move, wow thanks for the. CONFIDENCE i appreciate
that very. Much thank. YOU i got this not from.

Speaker 3 (01:18:25):
Gym i'm what a good parent.

Speaker 6 (01:18:31):
With.

Speaker 3 (01:18:31):
Me just move, Away just just lock the door one
day and take. Off you had to. Look when my
kids are in middle, school it was a. Nightmare like
every single day they came home and said this happened
in school, today and when?

Speaker 15 (01:18:43):
When?

Speaker 3 (01:18:43):
WHEN i say this. Happened it was a kid bunching a.
Teacher it was.

Speaker 9 (01:18:48):
Crazy are your kids in like public? SCHOOL i, know,
okay public school totally different machine. KIDS i worked ten thousand, hours.

Speaker 3 (01:18:57):
Put my kids the. Military they went to these public
school and we'renge. Counting Good, god almighty. Dude, yeah it's,
crazy all? Right four oh seven nine one six one four. One,
again you can always text our show at seven seven
zero three. ONE i did want to talk about the
story ABOUT, Tmi and there's a great story on THE
ap today about sharing ABOUT. Tmi too much information for

(01:19:19):
people who don't understand THAT i.

Speaker 5 (01:19:20):
Can.

Speaker 3 (01:19:20):
LOOK i had to remind. Myself i'm not, savvy you.

Speaker 5 (01:19:23):
Know?

Speaker 3 (01:19:23):
Yeah? Yeah? Uh AND i do you do? This do
you share very much with other?

Speaker 4 (01:19:28):
People not Unless i'm in. CONVERSATION i Mean i'll chat of.

Speaker 3 (01:19:31):
Course do you have a confidant in your? Life what
do You? Oh, YEAH i do have somebody that you
can share. That ok it's not your? Husband, yeah, yeah
you do you have a friend like?

Speaker 5 (01:19:39):
That?

Speaker 4 (01:19:39):
GIRLS i have some.

Speaker 3 (01:19:40):
Girlfriends, yeah, MAN i think that's a girl thinks. SPECIFICALLY
i don't think dudes have. That LIKE i don't have
somebody THAT i can kind of pull it to the
side and go and, look this is by the, way
this is my issue and has nothing to do with anybody.
Else this is me not trusting anybody or anything for
the most of my. Life. Yeah SO i would never
in a million years or something that would be so

(01:20:01):
personal THAT i could to get it off my chest
BECAUSE i wouldn't trust anybody THAT i told it.

Speaker 4 (01:20:06):
To that's kind of sound it is.

Speaker 9 (01:20:08):
Said it is, Said, well guys notoriously and famously will
not share their feelings as much and readily as. Women
you are kind of almost at the far end of.
THAT i would, say, yeah but you know, What i'll
tell you something. Else And jack doesn't even know. THIS

(01:20:28):
i probably shared more personal stuff With jack about my
life THAT i would never share with anybody, else even
my Buddy Code black THAT i don't have that kind of.
Relationship But jack AND i have a bit of a
parallel existence in some, ways and we've had some interesting
things in our lives happen that kind of paralleled each.
Other and so we have had, conversations pretty deep conversations
about raising, kids about being, married about all these.

Speaker 3 (01:20:50):
Things and did you even know that, dude did you
know that some of that stuff that we've talked about is,
like you're the only Person i've talked to that.

Speaker 9 (01:20:56):
ABOUT i didn't KNOW i was the only, one BUT
i knew that was that was something that you were
you don't share with Many and it's it's actually both
ways BECAUSE i don't have a lot of people WHERE
i talk like that. Too ross has been uh with
his addition to the show and just the amount of

(01:21:17):
Time i've spent with, him has been a person who
has helped me open up more to the idea, of you,
know having better male friends and communication right with.

Speaker 3 (01:21:30):
Them and it's hard for us and, HIM i love
you in the. Hugs yeah, yeah oh, yeah that's good
for me. Too i'm gonna be dead honest With it's
been good for me Because i'll tell, YOU i, KNOW
i used to never say, that and NOW i have
no problem saying it same. Here yeah, yeah BECAUSE i
mean he's he's like a real and Warm oh, yeah
it's it's. Uncomfortable it's very uncomfortable how loving and warm he.

Speaker 15 (01:21:50):
Is that's.

Speaker 4 (01:21:51):
Fine but if he's always like that and that's who he,
is that's the best, then.

Speaker 9 (01:21:55):
Right but definitely Move jim AND i out of our emotional.
Silos you, know well at least we're kind of out
in the yard.

Speaker 3 (01:22:02):
Now. Yeah, YEAH I i'll tell you how sad this. Is,
LIKE i don't want you to have anything on. Me
that's exactly what it. Is AND i don't care who you.
Are you could be my, brother you could be my.
UNCLE i don't want.

Speaker 4 (01:22:12):
You maybe that's how you grew. Up you said you grew.
Up you just you, know rub dirt on, it, right
you're keeping it all.

Speaker 3 (01:22:18):
In, yeah but and that's, dangerous, manus it really. Is
it can it can get.

Speaker 4 (01:22:21):
OVERWHELMING i MEAN i would say with girls, stuff you,
KNOW i get with my girls every you, know a
few weeks or. Something but there also is a lot
of times wine involves where you know WHAT i. Mean
like then it's a like share, all you, Know but
it is. HEALTHY i think most of the time to
just chit chat and talk about.

Speaker 3 (01:22:38):
It and that's wild because IF i, drink that's WHEN
i get even. Quieter that's like WHEN i double shut
up Because I'm i'm. Cognizant i'm, like you're, drunk, dude
shut your damn. Mouth, quiet be. Quiet you want to say.

Speaker 6 (01:22:48):
It you want.

Speaker 3 (01:22:49):
TO i can feel you want to yell, it but
you better not yell. It but you know what we jack,
again we're. Dads we have a lot of. Kids kids
cause issues sometimes and sometimes you needed somebody outside of
your wife to explain that to or, understand especially another
male that's going through the same, thing because we all
process information. Differently and if you're trying to maintain that

(01:23:10):
integrity as a, father you, know and you want them
to look at you as that stoic dad that's there
at any given. Time you also, stop you don't want
to share with them because you don't want to give them.
Anything they're, like oh look this, guy wouldn't you tell?
Me and you're this guy behind the. Scenes you. Know
you want to maintain that. Image that's super important so
they look at you with, respect you, know even though
you get, That so, YEAH i get. That what's the

(01:23:31):
story are you supposed to be?

Speaker 4 (01:23:32):
SHARING? Tmi is that like it's supposed to be good for?

Speaker 21 (01:23:35):
You so?

Speaker 3 (01:23:35):
Interesting the story, says it's all about. Context, like you,
know if you went out on a date and you
took home a friend that's going to be there for a, while,
right you had a one night, stand it's gonna last
forever if you feel me like you. Can you can
obviously share that with your doctor or people that are,
close but you don't tell your boss that you know
things like. That so what they're basically saying is the
too much information thing really is based on who you're

(01:23:57):
sharing that. Information, yes, OKAY i mean like with, you
you can have very, personal you, know conversations with your,
girls and you know that you guys are like a little.
Coven that information is never leaving that circle with. Guys
it's kind of weird like that BECAUSE i don't know
about How jack, feels but you always feel like you're
kind of being attacked for position, sometimes like there's always

(01:24:17):
somebody kind of coming for you and your. Position so
you want to maintain again that stoic kind of mentality
where people, go, well that guy's impenetrable because we don't
know anything about. Him all we know is what he tells.
Us and that's kind of HOW i roll.

Speaker 9 (01:24:32):
It that and also in the jobs that we do
in the, world and tying it back to, bullying you
use that there are, PEOPLE i, mean we not every
text we get is nice and.

Speaker 3 (01:24:45):
Supportive it's, right you, Know i'm bunch right.

Speaker 9 (01:24:47):
Now they're, good you, know So i'm not even looking
At sometimes you don't hear all the, talkbacks if you
know WHAT i, mean because and so you try and
guard yourself a little little bit about, that you, Know
but and this job, itself and and now what you're
experiencing really for the first time on this show is we.

Speaker 3 (01:25:10):
Share maybe a little.

Speaker 9 (01:25:12):
More you do do it on other stations and your
format as, well but we share so much of our
lives that there's sometimes you have to find that line
of what you keep private and what you're willing to make.

Speaker 3 (01:25:26):
Public, yeah let's just like this RASH i have on
my inner. Thought all, right poros seven nine four to

in my.

Speaker 5 (01:26:38):
Life.

Speaker 22 (01:26:38):
Yeah so, yeah it's very important to tell your loved
ones that they are. Loved growing up that we my
siblings AND i my, parents we never told each other
that we loved one. Another the only TIME i ever
did was when my parents were on their, deathbeds and
they died WHEN i was relatively. Young BUT i made

(01:26:59):
it up point THAT i turned that whole scenario around
in my, family and now.

Speaker 2 (01:27:04):
Everybody hugs and kisses and tells each OTHER i love, you,
SO i love.

Speaker 3 (01:27:09):
You oh you son of a, BITCH i love you. Too,
yeah it's, hey you, know it's so funny he mentions,
that you, know that's HOW i was brought up as,
Well And i'm this is a GENERATION i Think i'm not.

Timets how many times do you THINK i remember my
father telling me he loved? Me how many times do you?

(01:27:31):
BELIEVE i don't. Know i'm gonna say. One i'm gonna say.
ONE i remember, Once, REALLY i remember one time in
my entire life my dad did. That and much like
our friend had just, called when WHEN i married my,
wife her Father, john who's a, pastor that guy can't
stop telling. You he can't stop hugging. You he can't

(01:27:52):
stop telling. You and my son AND i every time
we see each, other it's HUG i love you every single.
Time that was busted out my soul with my WHEN
i got married AND i got into a family that
believes in that, Wholeheartedly and let me tell, you that
is a DOG i could not relate to you.

Speaker 9 (01:28:10):
More that is a complete game. CHANGER i think this
generation kind of countered that. Previously like my mom as,
well she wasn't that demonstrative when it came to, that
did not say that a, Lot so we do say
it a?

Speaker 3 (01:28:22):
Lot can you say it too? Much WHAT i don't?

her like during the show and texting her before the

like you, guys she.

Speaker 4 (01:37:51):

you got to focus on one show for four?

Speaker 3 (01:37:55):
HOURS a long?

Speaker 9 (01:37:57):
Time they do forty shows in one hour's? Ray how
long does it take you to voice track that? STUFF i,
mean it's like she told me her studio schedule, yesterday
AND i just could LIKE i couldn't imagine it like at.
Home you, KNOW i LUCKILY i have a studio at,
Home so WHEN i just have to cut commercials right
and do, IT i can't stand.

Speaker 3 (01:38:16):
It AND i don't know. WHY i can't tell you.
Why it's just Something i've never really acclimated to BECAUSE
i know people who love going there and doing production and.
Stuff it never really kind of hit me like. That
and Then jane dropped the bomb on how much time
she has to spend in the, studio and it is mind.
Numbing it's probably the.

Speaker 4 (01:38:32):
SAME i would. THINK i, mean sometimes it's like seven
people to cover for me If i'm out for a few.

Speaker 3 (01:38:36):
Days really, yeah, Wow, yeah she. Said she gets, up
does her morning, stuff AND i think she after her,
meeting she gets into our studio around ten thirty and
doesn't get out under like five thirty in the. Afternoon oh,
yeah for. Sure she was in there for like seven, hours.

Speaker 4 (01:38:49):
Seven hours probably every.

Speaker 14 (01:38:50):
Day.

Speaker 4 (01:38:50):

Speaker 3 (01:39:08):
YOU i appreciate it so. Much you have no, idea,
Really thank? You all right four seven nine six one
four one text us at seven seven zero, three wind'll
Forget tomorrow we will be talking to The Central Florida.
Zoo have you been following the sloth world? Tragedy it is, banana.
Dude it is like everywhere. Now today was On reuters And,
newsweek and yesterday WAS Cbs. News It's reuter's Like international.

Speaker 6 (01:39:31):
News.

Speaker 3 (01:39:32):
Yeah and AND i think you know what the funny thing.
IS i think it's because of the the lovable nature
of the. Animal LIKE i believe if this was, porcupines
LIKE i don't know if it would have the same
vibe or if it was, like you, know some kind
of amphibian or, like nobody would be like freaking. Out
but Because sloss seems so innocent and so harmless and so,

(01:39:55):
docile do we.

Speaker 4 (01:39:56):
Know like the full full story, NOW i mean it
seems as the parts were coming out and.

Speaker 3 (01:40:00):
WELL i mean what we know is as they were
building out the actual place where the slaws were going
to be, held they were housing them in a warehouse
that used to be like a like a mechanics, shop,
Right and what we heard was is they had them
and we and what we can't figure out is why
they why they got them so early if they knew
that the facility wasn't going to be built out in,

(01:40:22):
Time why did you have the sloss in an area
where you couldn't really take care of them the way
that you're supposed. To but of course they are extremely
vulnerable to cold weather because they're not used to cold
weather at. All, yeah and they were here during the,
freeze and so they got cold stunned in in the
warehouse because apparently the heating system they tried to use

(01:40:45):
short circuited and stopped.

Speaker 9 (01:40:47):
WORKING i mean space heators on extension. Cords, yeah in
a warehouse that was only licensed to hold. Cars, yeah that.

Speaker 4 (01:40:54):
Gotcha, okay BECAUSE i just feel like more of the
story has been coming.

Speaker 3 (01:40:57):
Out, also the purveyor of these things THAT i guess
is In peru sent them over and they apparently one
of the shipments of sloss they were in terrible. SHAPE
a number of them already passed. Away some of them
were so emaciated they couldn't make. It and as we
know right, now out of THE i think thirty one
died or was what it, was thirty one of them

(01:41:19):
report like THIRTEEN i guess are now at the zoo
under their care and they're quarantine for thirty to sixty,
days AND i hear a couple of those are day to.
Day the other ones are apparently coming. Along, okay we'll
get a FULL i.

Speaker 4 (01:41:32):
Like bring them back to just get them healthy outa, yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:41:34):
And then the zoo is going to redistribute them to
other zoo facilities that have this specific. Accreditation do you
remember what that, Was? Jack they, Actually, yeah that's exactly
like An azya accreditation that allows you to handle and
deal with sloss and do it. Properly but, Man i've
not seen backlash to a news story that didn't involve

(01:41:55):
like human loss in a long. Time, yeah it's being crazy.
Terrible so we'll we'll get an update from the zoo
on how the ones that did make it through are.
Going and then of course we know for now that
the soft world has follwed. Bankruptcy they're not gonna. Open
and NOW i guess the big hurdle is is all
the people who bought.

Speaker 9 (01:42:13):
Tickets that's WHAT i, saw who bought those early annual.
PASSES i got bad news for you.

Speaker 3 (01:42:18):
Guys, yeah. Bankround it doesn't look. Good bankruptcy is the
worst word you ever want to. Hear when it comes to,
that you do not want to hear the word bankruptcy
because what that. Doy they're gonna go into, court gonna
they're gonna take the. Money they're gonna pay the vendors
that are, first and then you get what's left. Over
so if you get, five, ten, twenty, thirty fifty, bucks,
whatever consider yourself, lucky because chances are not gonna.

Speaker 9 (01:42:40):
HAPPEN i think it was about forty nine dollars a
ticket they were selling, them so you figure.

Speaker 3 (01:42:44):
The annual passes were like over, three weren't. They, oh that's.
HAPPEN i thought the annual. Passes you, remember if you,
remember the initial push was for annual passes because that
was part of the capital they were gonna use to
help do the build out and start the. Business and
they already had incredible. BRANDING i, mean there's the that's
the logo right. THERE i, MEAN i know you brought
in your own mouse pad. Today it's.

Speaker 4 (01:43:06):
Cute it's.

Speaker 3 (01:43:07):
CUTE i think they did a good job on, That
like we had him in the. Studio, Yeah and it
so happens, that like the day after they came into the,
studio one of the guys that was with them and
worked there was a guy that used to work here
and he left the next, day and nobody really said,
anything BUT i heard the grape. VINE i don't know
how true it, is BUT i heard the grape vine

(01:43:28):
that that once that person found out like how they
looked at the slaws and how they how they can
because he looked at, it it's like a conservation effort type.
Thing and apparently that wasn't the case at. All and
once he kind of got the inside information on what
was going to, happen what was really happening, there he.

Speaker 4 (01:43:43):
Dipped and by the, way this is not my sloth.

Speaker 3 (01:43:46):
WORLD i know we've said that to. Everybody but we
have your key, shirt, right we have. One, yeah are
you gonna get your tat covered or it's right in
the small in your?

Speaker 3 (01:44:14):
Yeah, yeah you like? Sports, Right SO i love. Sports
my daughter's played. Volleyball actually one went to college for.
It the other could, have but she didn't want to
go to, practice so so she opted. Out, right six feet,
talls she walked from the gym and the guy and
the coach Said i'll give you a scholarship right, now
and she's, like, no. THANKS i ain't about running these
practices and doing all this.

Speaker 4 (01:44:31):
Stuff LIKE i played a little volleyball in school in, softball,
yeah in a long time. Ago but THEN i cheerleading
was like my, life SO i just did that. Instead
but that's Obviously i'm very, short SO i was back.

Speaker 3 (01:44:41):
Row that's all, right no.

Speaker 6 (01:44:42):
Worries.

Speaker 3 (01:44:42):
Yeah, well the REASON i bring this up is there
is a volleyball player that plays for Cal State, northridge,
right and it's funny and because this gets a male
volleyball player and he's kind of going, viral, Right and
why if you look up on the, Screen, jackson to
have it up in a.

Speaker 9 (01:44:56):
Second if YOU'RE i have to find a different place
where he sent. Me he's behind a.

Speaker 3 (01:45:01):
Paywall oh, no it's, not is it?

Speaker 9 (01:45:03):
Really they're telling me it. Is, well see if you
can search the guy's name and see if you can
find some. Stuff, okay subscribe or.

Speaker 3 (01:45:09):
Something. Yeah, yeah we run into that all the. Time
it Pisses jack off AND i tell HIM i GOT
i need the, subscription and he's, like, no can't do.
It you have to find it. Elsewhere can't can't afford.
It but you'll when he brings up here in a,
Second i'll tell you why it's. Interesting why do you
think he's going? VIRAL i have no.

Speaker 4 (01:45:22):
IDEA i didn't see the.

Speaker 3 (01:45:24):
STORY i, mean nobody. HAS i mean it's this part
of it's in the, athletics SO i MEAN i just
kind of saw it. Today here's the story right, Here
jack out the video open a. Second you can see it.
There jim Corprat live dot com Or Real radio DOT,
fm slash. Watch and the reason why he's, watch the
reason why he's making a lot of news is because
his name Is Jordan lucas And jordan is gayyay, yay yay.

(01:45:46):
Yay he is pressy fancy. Gay but you, know what.
Else he is like an incredibly insane. Athlete so what?
Happens see what he's. Doing every time he makes a
big slam or a big, spike he goes like he
does prissy like he's skipping. Around he's snapping his fingers and.
Stuff AND i just saw this story today AND i
could not stop watching this.

Speaker 4 (01:46:07):
Guy what was the title of the?

Speaker 9 (01:46:08):
Story was?

Speaker 5 (01:46:09):
It?

Speaker 9 (01:46:09):
LIKE i, mean you know WHAT i?

Speaker 4 (01:46:11):
Mean what cuts your eye about?

Speaker 3 (01:46:12):
It it says Meet Jordan, Lucas Cow State Northridge volleyball
master of on Court. Celebrations i'm, like, WELL i want
to see what this guy's on court. Celebrations SO i
bring it. Up and this guy is jumping out of the.
Gym he's SMASHING i, mean absolutely destroying. It, yeah and
then just getting all fancy miss thing out there on
the court and he's not afraid of it at. All

(01:46:33):
look at. Him it is the funniest thing in the.
World he whips his head like a.

Speaker 1 (01:46:39):
GIRL i love.

Speaker 3 (01:46:41):
SURE i can not love this. More this dude's got
his flat jump where his waist is almost even with
the top of the.

Speaker 9 (01:46:47):
Net look at that. Dude he's crazy. Athletic tell me
you wouldn't watch more.

Speaker 3 (01:46:51):
Volatall i'm telling, You i'd buy a ticket to watch
that cat play every day of the. Week that's that's
fun right, there and it must drive people crazy because
the dude isn't an elite. Athlete you get his jumping,
skills my, Kid i've seen a billion volleyball. Games i've
seen pretty good athletes play the, game and this guy
is absolutely crushing. It it's so much fun to.

Speaker 9 (01:47:10):
Watch but it even goes back to THE i think
you can parallel to THE nfl where they were getting
penalized for. Celebrating it's kind of fun to watch the
celebrations after a really great. Play yeah he gets to
do it, there but in THE nfl they were kind
of squatching that some of the celebrations and trying limit.

(01:47:33):
That and it's REALLY i think the fans like seeing
that expression of. EXCITEMENT i love. IT i can Get
let me tell you who else is dealing with this right.
Now SO i saw a clip the other day about
a little league. Player right this guy's like a, big you, know.
Bomber he's, like you, know he's thirteen years. Old he's
like six feet, tall always one hundred and eighty five.

Speaker 3 (01:47:50):
Pounds oh my, gosh like one of those dudes, like,
yeah it's like a, freak, Right and he's hitting these bombs,
right and he's got this crazy where he flips the
bat and he goes. Around he acts like there's a
camera crew watching him and, stuff and the coaches are
losing their, minds but the crowd is going crazy about.
IT i, like, coaches look at the. Crowd who's having?
Fun who's paying to some to see that guy? Play everybody,

(01:48:12):
was the stands were, packful and this kid was putting
on a straight up.

Speaker 6 (01:48:16):
Show.

Speaker 3 (01:48:16):
Dude it was. Great and all these little league coaches are,
like there's disrespecting the. Game, Remember i'm, like this kid
is having a, blast and everybody else is in the
stadium is having a great time because this kid's having.
Fun leave him. Alone very. Cool by the, way you
want to check this guy. Out his name Is Jordan.
Lucas l Uc. As you can go watch him spiking

of such a. Thing you will know before you leave the.

(01:51:06):
Building in addition to having eaten a, steak, yeah very nice,
lunch and it's, free by the. Way all you have

that pull down menu reserve or see that's. Important that's
all you have to do is. Reserve there is no
cost for, this by the, way. Yep and you're not
going to get a hard. Sell they don't want you

with that at. ALL i had a, TIMESHARE i would
want you to buy, it you and anybody THAT i

(01:51:29):
tuesday evenings we talk about things that could affect your
financial well being and give you some heads up and
some advice of how you can make your money last,
long save some, money and move towards financial. Freedom. Yeah,
yeah we try to do all those. Things and to that,
effect we have the New WEALTH dna test on our
website At edgewaterfamilywealth dot. Com so if you've often wondered
what kind of personality you are when it comes to,

(01:51:50):
money or what kind of personality you are, period this
is a good way to do. It we've already had
dozens and dozens of people take the test and the
outcomes have been. Great people are all over the, map
from wealth commanders to architects to all different kinds of
names That really what it does is you take the.
Test it gives you an output to, say these are
your stress, factors these are the things that would bother,
you these are the, Thing this is how you would

(01:52:12):
react under duress if the markets were doing. Poorly here's your,
strengths here's your. Weaknesses and a lot of people have
gone To dendswater family wealth dot com and taking that,
test and most of the feedback we're getting it's quite. Good,
YEAH i would THINK i think that'd be quite useful
by the way you kind of find. Out AND i
think maybe one thing is like a lot of people, think,
well you, Know i'm probably the only person doing, this
and you Know i've got a sickness or something's wrong with.

(01:52:32):
Me if you find out in reality that you fall
into a lot of columns that a lot of people fall,
into and the cool thing is is a lot this
will tell you there's answers to those. Issues there's there's
ways gonna get around those personality traits that don't really
work out.

Speaker 9 (01:52:44):
For you and your.

Speaker 3 (01:52:45):
Money, well we all have tendencies and sensibilities it regardless
of whether it's money or it's not. Money and the
way we go through. Life and sometimes you, know somebody
will say something to me, like you, know you always
do that, thing and Then i'm, LIKE i don't do that,
thing AND i like you, did and then they give
me seven examples of HOW i do that, thing, Right,
Yeah and it's kind of hard to deny at that, point,
RIGHT i GUESS i do do that. Thing SO i

(01:53:05):
think we find with money as, well that a lot
of times people Real i'll give you the. Example clients
will come in And i'll, say, hey you know, what
how will you behave if the market drops ten? Percent you,
know to throw out a, number Say i'll be, fine
that wouldn't bother me in the slightest. Guy then the
market drops ten, percent they're ringing my phone off the
hook or like like they're you, know they've been shot or.
Something so it's so we sometimes don't realize until it's

(01:53:27):
put in front of us the way we're going to
react to. Things and if you know in advance that
you have a tendency to behave in a certain. WAY
i was in an event this weekend with some, guys
and one guy of course found.

Speaker 1 (01:53:36):
Out WHAT i.

Speaker 3 (01:53:37):
Did he's, like, yeah, oh, eight, MAN i SWORE i
wouldn't do, it but IN o, WAIGHT i sold all
out of my four or one K worst THING i
ever did in my. Life oh my, god can you?
IMAGINE i, mean, oh, way so you've missed the tripling
of the market if you didn't get back in within
a few. Years so, again knowing that your, behavior and
in some cases it's the other, way maybe you don't
react or you don't when something's really gone wrong and

(01:53:59):
you realize you've made a, miss but you just you,
know you've got that sunken cost theory Where i'll see it.
THROUGH i picked. It obviously it was a good, idea.
RIGHT a lot of people have that issue as, Well
so this test kind of kind of brings all that to. Light,
also there's another big loss thing that a lot of
people don't talk about because it's the other side of that,
coin which is you don't make the. Move you, know
you stand, there you're, stagnant you don't make the, move

(01:54:19):
and you don't even take a little bit of a,
chance even when the chance is telling you right to
your face that maybe you should give this a. Shot
that's another, thing like what's that the paralysis through? Analysis, yes, yes.
OVERTHINKING a lot of people are. Guilty they make perfect
the enemy of. Good they're not gonna make a decision
until all the conditions are. Perfect AND i got news
for you that doesn't. Exist. Right there is no situation

(01:54:41):
where you, GO i can't, lose BUT i can make
a lot of. Money. Right that is not a. Thing come,
on that's not. THERE i want everybody to pull over
and write this. Down you should make that that is
not a. Thing it's up to you to make that a. Thing,
so you, KNOW i WAS i was texting you this
week and as a driving around think about the segment
all the, time trying to make people or make it,

(01:55:03):
better and you, know kind of may make things relative
to the audience so they can kind of, understand you
know what you're trying to kind, of you, know explain to.
Them and one of the theories THAT i was kind
of talking about and to myself, is you, KNOW i
wonder how when people seek out a financial, advisor and
this could be with anything that's very personal to, them
or would be a, doctor whatever the case may. Be
but how do you guys establish trust with your. Clients

(01:55:26):
because the one THING i hear a lot in the
world out, there AND i read a lot out there
is is that people have trust issues with professionals in
the financial sector because all they read about is, like,
well this guy scammed this, guy and this person scammed this,
guy and this financial part and this financial institution got
busted for being A ponzi, scheme and nobody love me
tay something. Else nobody wants to be that. Victim and

(01:55:47):
let me you, know it's wild Because Kevin, bacon you,
know part of his personality, now not outside of being
a movie star and all that other cool, stuff is
the fact that he was one of the biggest guys
got ripped off by burning. Mead and when people read, that,
like well they can if it can happen to a
major movie star who has the best, advice the best
everything at his, fingertips that, means how AM i supposed
to make a good? Decision how AM i supposed to

(01:56:09):
pick somebody that's going to be good for me and
my family when it comes to my financial? Wellbeing and
what do you say to? That, well AND i get,
IT i believe. ME i deal with it every day
when people come. In, now to be, fair most of
the people that come to us either come via the
station because they've listened to me for a couple of.
Years so just longevity lends itself to. Trust SO i
have clients that have been with me thirty five. Years

(01:56:30):
they don't even question anything. Anymore they're just Like, SCOTT
i need a thing, done fix? It, yea. Right SO
i think you build trust over. Tom BUT i also
think if somebody refers you to someone and they, say,
Look i've been dealing with this this gal or this
guy for the last twenty, years and here are the
things they've done for. Me but for, ME i think
it's you build trust by not abusing the relationship right.

(01:56:50):
Away you shouldn't make assumptions about. PEOPLE i think the warning,
signs if we can start, there is that if you
walk into someone's office and they've already got a solution
for you before you've explained the, problem that's probably a bad.
Sign somebody that's leading with, RETURNS i THINK i can
get you eight. Percent oh you got, IT i can
get you nine. Percent. Right somebody that's leading with, returns

(01:57:12):
leading with results that they haven't gotten for, you that's
probably a warning. Sign so you, KNOW i was thinking
about a couple of examples after we had that discussion
on the way over. Here i'll use the events as an.
Example so if we got on the air and we, said,
hey come to this free, event nobody's gonna hard sell,
you and then the first thing we do is say
thirty bucks for the stake and then we start shoving

(01:57:34):
product down their, throat my credibility would be. Shot you're.
Done there'd be no trust with this. Audience you'd probably
throw me out of the. Studio so the reality is
you have to BUILD i tell my team this all the.
Time you have to build trust every day in every.
Conversation so it's why we have a preliminary get to
know you. Meeting so how we kind of deal with

(01:57:54):
that is we bring the potential client. In they, say,
look we have these issues we'd like to work with
you think and we say the same, Thing, well let's
see what your issues are and let us also decide
if we'd like to work with you because we're not
a good fit for if there have been plenty of
clients already this, year people potential clients have come in
and we, said, look we're not a good fit for,
you and here are the reasons. Why, Right so you

(01:58:16):
build trust by taking your time and getting to know.
Somebody you want to understand the. Story you want to
understand the goals before you start shoving products and things
down somebody's. Throats so if you go in and the
answer to every question is you need an annuity or
you need life, insurance that's the answer to every, question
you probably are in the wrong. Spot so, again building

(01:58:37):
trust takes. Time and if you're working with somebody who's
taking the time to, Understand i'll give you another example
of something that we. Do so our, clients as their assets,
grow get a discount on their. Fees, right so if
they have one hundred thousand, dollars they pay a little
more than somebody with two fifty or five hundred or
a million or. Whatever as each of those thresholds is,
passed we have a system to catch. That we don't

(01:59:00):
wait for them to catch us to reduce their. Fee
we reach out. Yourself we catch ourselves because if that
would be, wrong you, know that would be a great
way to erode. Trust if five years went by and
my client had already passed a milestone and we did
nothing to reduce their. Costs so there's multiple ways that
someone can show you their. TRUSTWORTHY i would say for
the people listening out, there the first thing is to

(01:59:21):
find if you're looking for an, advisor is to interview
several for. Starters make sure they're not pushing product down
to your throat the second you walk through the, door
and then maybe ask, around ask, friends who have you
been with this person for ten? Years have you been
with this person for fifteen. YEARS i have clients that
have been with me for thirty, years and there's oftentimes
that they'll send somebody in there, Like, god here's my.
MONEY i, mean if they had a bag of, money

(01:59:42):
they would probably throw it on the table right AND
i have to back them, up slow down a. Second
we'd probably love to have, you but let's go through
our process so that you're comfortable and you find that we're.
Trustworthy and you AND i were talking at the beginning
before the segment, began AND i was talking about How
Charlie munger considers. Trust Warren buffet's partner former partner now to,
see considered trust the number one tool in. Business, yes

(02:00:05):
because if you don't have, trust think about you, know
if you go to the car to the shop to
get your car fixed and you have to stand over the.
Mechanic then you're looking at the, bill you're looking at the.
Detail you're, Thinking i'm gonna go to three more. Shops you,
know the amount of time and effort that you had
to put into that is worth a lot to. You
whereas for, me you, know there's A sonoco In College
PARK i go to every single. Time they've never ripped me.

(02:00:28):
Off in, fact one time they put in the wrong,
part they ate the cost and put in the right,
part and from that moment, forward they established trust with,
me and the fact THAT i trust them saves me
from driving all over town to figure out Where i'm
gonna get my. Touch, yeah the same thing when we
do the. Rebuilds we have a group of vendors that
we've been, using whether it be for drywall or for
anything like, that and we don't use anybody, else and

(02:00:48):
we pay them more than we would pay anybody else
BECAUSE i trust. Them they can come to my. House
they're not gonna do anything, stupid they're not gonna steal from.
Me they're gonna be good quality. Work we've established that.
Relationship they wait for my, call then they come and
do the work and we move. Forward it's great having
that it really. Is and you, know AND i love
what you said That Warren buffett said about getting, done
getting deals done quickly before a certain people get, yeah, yeah, yeah.

(02:01:13):
Yeah so he one of the Stories charlie liked to
tell was there was a deal they wanted to do
AND i don't remember which deal it, was and he,
said you, know he said To, Warren, warren go sign
the deal before the lawyers get. INVOLVED i can say that. Word.
Yea so the reason is lawyers exist and, oftentimes you,
know as they, say you hate lawyers till you need, one,
Right so lawyers exist for a. Reason but lawyers exist

(02:01:34):
because we don't necessarily trust one, another and we have
to have all these you. Use you, know forty fifty
sixty eighty years, Ago i'm sure nine out of ten
deals throughout this city got done on a, handshake. Right
that is no longer true for a variety of. Reasons
but if you trust, someone IF i trust my, team
IF i say to my planner right, NOW i have
a guy who does planning for my. Client SO i

(02:01:56):
don't do all the. PLANNING i just review the planning
with the. Client IF i had, to, OPE i look
over his shoulder every single time he did a plan
for a MEETING i had with a, Client i'd get.
NOWHERE i couldn't build a, BUSINESS i couldn't be, HERE
i couldn't do the things THAT i really enjoy. Doing
so trust to me is worth to your, POINT i
would pay a premium for any service or any product

(02:02:19):
WHERE i trusted the person bringing it to. Me, yeah
every vendor that we have on the. Air and you
went through this very thing as. WELL i tell him
right up front with their initial. MEETING i don't know
if you do, this, mel BUT i look at him and,
Go i'm just gonna let you know right now when
we leave this, Meeting i'm gonna go And i'm gonna
search for crap for you for on you for four hours.
Minimum i'm gonna go through every single outlet ONLINE i
can find to see a bat see IF i can
find a bad review for your, company to see if

(02:02:41):
you've paid somebody to bury, this because it's my reputation
on the. Line i'll like you. On when we and
we started working With, SCOTT i went EVERYWHERE i. TRIED
i told him to the spaces THAT i tried for
days to find somebody to say something bad about, you
BECAUSE i wanted to find out what kind of person
you were first BEFORE i found out about your. Business
ye ask my, wife AND i didn't talk to you

(02:03:02):
hit her away that way on the. Room but it
turned out Where scott had a glowing, reputation AND i
knew that it wasn't gonna cost me or my reputation
to have you on there to talk about something as
sensitive as. Money and people are hyper sensitive about this
is their well, being and when they make the decision
to find a financial, advisor it has to be buried in.
TRUST i, mean there can't be a little of. It

(02:03:22):
it has to be steeped in, it because those people
are handing their livelihood over to.

Speaker 1 (02:03:26):
You.

Speaker 3 (02:03:27):
Well AND i Think i've told you the story over the,
years but bears, repeating is about year ten or. Fifteen
this is gonna sound, WEIRD i, suppose but you, KNOW
i was a young man trying to make my way
in the business, world AND i was good at, sales
so that was what was working out, fine AND i
certainly wasn't. Nefarious but at some point about year, fifteen
Recognizing i'm in year forty, now somebody gave me a
check AND i don't remember the, amount but it was

(02:03:48):
like seven hundred thousand or something like, that which back
then was is still a huge amount of, money but
it was a massive amount of money back. Then AND
i thought to, myself, HUH i should catch this in
all Ass. Yeah but then my second thought was my
second thought was how far that goes to the? Epics,
yeah this is. Real this is somebody's life. Savings they've
decided to give it to. Me and for a SECOND i,

(02:04:09):
thought what what are they? Crazy you? Know but, no
the reality is from that Moment ford AND i can't
pinpoint the exact, day but the reality IS I i
from that Moment, FORD i swore to myself THAT i
would not only build but deserve the trust that people
were giving. Me AND i try to impose that on
and everybody says THAT i get, that BUT i try

(02:04:29):
to impose that on my. Team is you're here to
lead these, people not sell. Them and there's a big
difference between leading and, selling because a leader will tell
you something you don't want to hear when you need
to hear. It, yeah one hundred, Percent Jack.

Speaker 9 (02:04:43):
Scott we have a text coming In it SAYS i
have a financial guy that's trying to get my wife
AND i to invest in life, Insurance.

Speaker 3 (02:04:52):
Well do you need life? Insurance is the, big big, question.
Right so there's a lot of firms in town will
go unnamed that that life insurance is there all only.
Product it's their. Lead if you're, saving it's in for,
college it's life. Insurance if it's, retirement it's life. Insurance
if it's something, else it's life. Insurance, now life insurance
has a role in everybody's, LIFE i, think especially if
you have young. Children but life insurance is life. Insurance

(02:05:15):
it is not a great investment on its. Own if
you can only if you need life insurance and an,
investment and you only have a dollar that can go into,
one maybe cash value life insurance bears, Considering but on,
AVERAGE i would say life insurance is simply not a great. Investment,
yea And scott will give you all this information you.

Speaker 23 (02:07:51):
Actually gone to a few different web pages that do similar.
THINGS i don't remember If i've done his or, not
but USUALLY i get to the bottom of the questionnaire
and it'll say something like this is for people who
have two hundred and fifty thousand dollars or what.

Speaker 14 (02:08:05):
Have you in the.

Speaker 23 (02:08:05):
Bank AND i can't even come close to. That AM
i even able to maybe go to the?

Speaker 3 (02:08:12):
Seminar oh, yeah, yeah of, course are you? Kidding yeah,
yeah absolutely come to the seminar twice if you like.

Speaker 9 (02:08:19):
IT i, think, well it points out a good, thing
and REALLY i was at first, WONDERING i don't know
if it is for. ME i, go you, know because
sometimes you, think, oh this is people with that are
moving around six figures of you, know stocks and stuff
and just big, investments and that's something That i'm not quite.

(02:08:40):
There ALL i know IS i feed my four one
K i feed my Roth, IRA i try and save
some on the side and UNTIL i WENT i didn't
UNDER i didn't really understand how oh, wait this does
affect you AND i can learn something from. This and
then WHEN i went in and met with your, son
and he kind of showed me WHERE i was and

(02:09:02):
changed the numbers on the big board and, said this
is what retirement looks for you on this path and
what you need to. Do AND i slept better that.
Night and it's just the unknown that is. THERE i
replaced it with a little more knowledge and that was
reassuring for.

Speaker 3 (02:09:18):
Me and by the, WAY i think it's interesting that
you say that Because jack said something during the SEGMENT
i thought was very interesting as, Well, like you, know
even being here on the, show even knowing you, personally
even talking after him before the, segment during the, breaks
even walking out of the building, together it still Took
jack a couple months to make that. Move and you've
told me that a number of the newer clients that
you guys have signed up or a newer people that

(02:09:38):
have come, in said that very same. Thing they, Said,
LOOK i listened for a, year you, KNOW i wanted
to hear everything you had to. Offer THEN i finally,
said this is the time to make the. Move so
one of the things THAT i think it's important when
it comes to the segment to know is is we're
not asking you to make a move right. Now what
we're doing is asking you to start considering what you
should be doing in the near. Future right and as we're,

(02:09:59):
family wealth is an option for. That but in, reality
we're just trying to get that on your radar so
that you start thinking about. That because what a lot
of people will do WHEN i read is they wait
a little too long to make this move or to
even consider making a, move and it kind of puts
them in a situation where they feel. Hopeless and that's
the last place you want to. Be because you've also
said there are a number of people that came in
and they fell, hopeless and then they left after what

(02:10:21):
happened With. Jack you, know you kind of threw it
out on a paper so they could see, it and
they skipped out of the. Office. Yeah, YEAH i think
most people find they're in way better shape than they
think they. Are and first of, all wouldn't you rather
know you're headed in the wrong direction with twenty grand
than with two hundred? GRAND i, mean no. Question if
somebody can say, look you know you're let me pivot
you here to the right a little, bit and that's
a better path for you to go. ON i would

(02:10:42):
certainly want to know that earlier rather than Lea, yeah for, Sure.
Jackie do we have to thank? Today? Oh, well we wanted.
