Speaker 1 (00:03):
All right, welcome to our number two, the Tony and
Dwight Chow, brought to you by the Kentucky Office of
Highway Safety Busy Hour. This hour, we're gonna talk to
Paron Johnson. He was a former U of L basketball
player under Rick Battino around the twenty twelve ish thirteen
ish era, so or maybe earlier than that. He's a
sales executive for US now. He's been teaching classes at
(00:25):
Wagner High School for the last five years. So we'll
break this game down. But first, Jackie and I do
this every single year.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Yeah, I think we do.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
I don't know how many reefs we purchased this time,
but there were a couple.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
Let's talk to Molly.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
It's Veterans' Day and we take care of our veterans
all year round, especially if you are a member of
the Daughters of the Revolution, the John Marshall Chapter. Let's
bring in Bonnie McGrath. Hey, Bonnie, are you there, Yes,
I'm here. Dwight, listen, you come on every year with this,
and first of all, thank you for doing this to
(00:59):
remember or falling veterans. But let's talk about wreaths across America.
Let's talk about how to purchase a wreath, and then
also how to get involved, because if you ask me
and you got little ones, this is a good opportunity
to take them and start explaining and showing.
Speaker 4 (01:17):
Them correct and we do try to honor and teach,
so teaching the children teenagers what it's all about, because
many of them don't even remember or have knowledge of those.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
Oh right right, oh molly, yes, I've done this before.
Oh sorry, yeah, I've done this before. And I will
tell you this. They have people, you know, dressed in
period pieces and all that, and everyone comes out there
and here's what and here's the aspect that I didn't
realize I would do. And Jackie and I and my kids,
(01:58):
I we we'd put the wreath down, and we we
were in no hurry to put twenty down, and there
was plenty of people, so we weren't worried. I found
myself stopping reading the gray side and wondering and thinking
about who was in front of us. And that was
an aspect that I because I always thinking, you know,
(02:19):
we're busy people, and were like, well, how long is
this going to take? We're gonna throw these things out.
We spent the longest time just walking around and reading
the headstoneses to tell you the truth.
Speaker 4 (02:27):
Yes, it's very very interesting. And the ceremony on December
thirteenth at noon is very touching. It awesome.
Speaker 3 (02:37):
It's awesome.
Speaker 5 (02:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (02:39):
And after the ceremony is when everybody goes out and
las the reefs. It's a very quick thing. We have
a lot of volunteers. We can always use more volunteers.
You don't have to sign up or anything, or just
show up.
Speaker 3 (02:55):
That's all.
Speaker 4 (02:55):
And I do highly recommend the ceremony because it is very,
very very touching. And last year we were able to
place a wreath on every grave at Zachary Taylor.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
Eleven thou absolutely rufic there.
Speaker 4 (03:13):
Yeah, eleven thousand, four hundred grapes, and that is our
goal again this year. So far as Zachary Taylor has
six thousand, nine hundred and seventy three of the eleven thousand,
four hundred sponsored, we still need four thousand, four hundred
and twenty seven sponsored John Marshall Chapter. We have sponsored
(03:38):
three hundred and twenty seven to date, with one hundred
and twenty three to goal for our goal. So I
can tell people that if they would like to sponsor
a wreath, they could go to www. Dot Wreaths across
America dot org slash KWA zero one five zero p.
(04:06):
December first is the last day that rees can be
sponsored at eleven fifty nine pm. Any responsored After that time,
we'll go toward the next year's right campaigns.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
And Bonnie, you can buy multiples. You can buy multiples.
My in laws buy five, I buy five. You don't
have to just buy one. You can buy You can
buy as many as you want for those nights and
we and it is a great it's a I'm telling you,
it's not just about the physical putting the reefs on
the sites. It is about spending time with these men
(04:39):
and women from all different eras of America in one place.
And we love what you do and we appreciate it.
Buy it.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
And Bonnie, like you said, we have some ground to
make up and we need to get this done quick.
We do not want to any empty grades on our
veterans for Wreaths Across America. Day one more time, if
you could. When is the deadline December one to purchase?
Speaker 3 (05:06):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (05:06):
I think is it? Is it? Midnight? December first?
Speaker 4 (05:10):
Yes, eleven fifty nine.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
And the event is going to be December thirteenth in
twelve pm. At twelve pm.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
You park at the Christian Church across the street and
walk across.
Speaker 4 (05:21):
Yes, you'll have a cross docchery Taylor Cemetery. Yes, and
we can always use more volunteers. Let me again give
the address for the sponsorships. The Reese are seventeen dollars
to sponsor one and the address is www dot rees
(05:44):
across America dot O RG forward slash ky zero one
five zero P.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
Boddy, thank you so much, Thank you body. Let's get
every one of these veterans' graves covered for December thirteenth. Blessed,
I say, and uh, we'll talk to you soon.
Speaker 1 (06:03):
Okay, thanks Bonnie.
Speaker 2 (06:03):
See you on the thirteenth Marshall chapter.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
Of It's Awesome. You gotta go, dude, what's going on?
Speaker 2 (06:11):
Man?
Speaker 1 (06:11):
Parent Johnson joined, just what's up?
Speaker 3 (06:13):
Hey? How you guys doing good morning?
Speaker 1 (06:14):
We're doing fantastic And he's got to smooth.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
Everybody had more low self esteem in my life.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
Well, yes, he's six are you six six?
Speaker 3 (06:29):
And shoes? Yeah? Alright six five? But you know you
play with shoes on how that works?
Speaker 1 (06:33):
So here's the other rub he's better athlete than everybody
combined in this office, and he's smarter. You probably the
smartest guy to play for Rick Patino.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
I don't I won't say that.
Speaker 5 (06:42):
There's been some guys, but I like, I like to
get an honorable mention because that's a lot.
Speaker 3 (06:47):
You know, did I get the honorable mention? Maybe not?
Speaker 2 (06:50):
What's what's practice like? With Patino? It's a all hardcore
is it does a guy joke around at all ever?
Speaker 5 (06:56):
During practice after practice after practice, or he'll make a
joke out of you, like, you know, something like that.
So one time my tripped and he said, watch that
line like he's always gonna slide one in.
Speaker 3 (07:06):
So but I mean, coach is doing well.
Speaker 5 (07:08):
I was gonna talk to him this week, but after
they lost to Alabama, I'm gonna let that just get
the cake, bake on that a little bit and leave
that alone.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
To Dwight's point, and we just talked to USA Cares
and Todd's dad was a marine and his mom was
a teacher and discipline was highth you know, I was
on the air doing the show at that time for
Sports and we were we were getting on Rick because
he was just so hard on you all, but that
probably changed your life.
Speaker 5 (07:34):
Yeah, you know, I mean especially the whole New York
mentality thing is real. It's not that I'm not compassionate
or don't have sympathy or empathy for anybody, but time
waste for nobody, and you, no matter how bad something gets,
you know, you just got to keep on moving forward.
My uncle he passed away this summer and one of
the things that somebody said when we put him in
(07:56):
the ground was, you know, death is a part of life.
It's just something we got accept So same thing with work.
Work has to be done, you know, it's like rent
and it's new every day. Yeah, and that's just the
mentality every day with.
Speaker 1 (08:05):
Him, there's no doubt. And so catch people up you
you were not with us a sales executive. How do
they get a hold of you? Want they want some
want some advertisement.
Speaker 5 (08:16):
They can get a hold of me at parent Johnson
at iHeartMedia dot com. That's be my email. You can
find me on Instagram at parent Johnson if you want
to go with.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
That, sure, Yeah anyway, Twitter.
Speaker 5 (08:26):
Twitter also at parents you go. Apparently there's not a
lot of parent Johnson. Let me guess your Facebook account
parent Johnson. Oh man, it's like a trifecting here right now.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
Okay, one about before we get this game tonight, obviously
biggest game of the year. And by the way, Austin,
you're doing a terrible job because you didn't even have
the UFL fight song queued upat job. You're sitting there in.
Speaker 6 (08:48):
The dark, dark in here.
Speaker 1 (08:50):
Yes, you have it all dark in there. We can
barely see you, and you're not doing your job.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
And why do you bring why do you guys bring
all your little Star Wars figures in and put them
all around?
Speaker 1 (08:59):
Yeah, it's embarrassed.
Speaker 6 (09:01):
You don't touch that Anakin bro.
Speaker 2 (09:03):
Okay, you're making them fight and do little two noises.
Speaker 3 (09:07):
That was really good. By the way, thank you.
Speaker 6 (09:09):
Correct my lightsabers, correct me if I'm wrong.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
The Final Four run, you were on one of those.
Speaker 3 (09:16):
Teams two thousand and five, okay, yes, And.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
The next day USA today was still a big paper.
Was that you that made the front When you were
on you were dunking and everyone how many minutes I
don't know how many minutes she played in.
Speaker 5 (09:29):
That game, so I didn't play that many, So right,
that's what I think. The that year I actually tell
people I was like Geico. It was like insurance and
something went bad. You know, you know I was in
there early. You know, Otis picked up two, Ellis picked
up two. You know, somebody pulled the fire alarm. But
the building is on fire right now. So Washington was
(09:49):
the one seed that ye yes, we were the four
seed and coach was madder than a rattlesnake because he thought.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
We were going to be twenty four and four. I
remember that, Yeah, he was mad.
Speaker 5 (09:57):
So then we go to we played Washington down there,
and I go in the game and I got an
an one, and then you know, we got an All
American in Francisco, we got an All Conference performing Larry
and you know, Ellis and taekwon and there they go.
Speaker 3 (10:13):
And I go to breakfast this morning.
Speaker 5 (10:15):
You'll love the Yeah, I know, I remember this. I
go to breakfast this morning and I don't even see
the paper this day. So I go to the omelet
bar to get me an omelet, and Coach Pertino this
is this is how he jokes. He takes twenty five
copies of the sports section and he puts it and
he puts it on top of my plate. While I'm
(10:39):
at the omelet bar, get me my omelet. So I
haven't even got anything yet, you know, rubbing my eyes,
you know, you know we got film right now. We're
about to watch a lot of film because we played
West Virginia. And I come back to my table and
there's twenty five copies of the USA today, and everybody
in there is down there, from the alumni to the
athletic office, and they just start laughing, hysterical. And then
(11:00):
Kevin Willard, who's at Villanova now goes of all the
people right, so.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
He love the game, and he's the cover of the
sports page on us a to day dunking, And Uh,
I always enjoyed that story.
Speaker 3 (11:11):
I really did.
Speaker 5 (11:12):
So.
Speaker 1 (11:12):
Parents, you're a great representative for a University of Louisville, uh,
and Rick Patino in the program and the community for
by a wide margin. And we appreciate that you're here
with us. For sure.
Speaker 3 (11:23):
I'm really proud of that you're here. You glad to
be here, and they'm.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
A little disappointed you're here. To tell you the truth,
I was the fun guy that you announced him, good
looking guy.
Speaker 1 (11:32):
Yeah, you're it's over now, athlete, it's over now.
Speaker 2 (11:35):
I have a shot.
Speaker 5 (11:36):
But what if we came together, we can be ebony and.
Speaker 1 (11:38):
I got like the uh now it's not very smarty bealer,
am I Ebony.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
Let's talk about the team real quick, yeah, Ivory. So
listen when you when you start with practice, comes the
week of the University of Louisville University Yucky game. Uh,
I guess is that like a Final four for you all?
That's a big deal, right? I mean or not? I
don't know. Do you get more butterflies than usual?
Speaker 3 (12:10):
Is it just the Kentucky game?
Speaker 5 (12:12):
Is the Kentucky week of practice is more intense than our.
Speaker 3 (12:16):
Whole Final four run?
Speaker 5 (12:17):
In my opinion, I was wondering because because it was
coach coach play coaches at Kentucky. You know, he used
to call it Camelot, you know, and all that jazz,
and like, you know, you thought he was King Arthur
the way he described it.
Speaker 1 (12:30):
That's right.
Speaker 5 (12:30):
And so now when we when we would play, it
was the most intense week and everything was heightened and
there was no laughter, There was no you know, there
was not Everything was serious as a heart attack, like
and it was it was pure mayhem and uh and
I tell you some of the things that are expressed
in the pregame warm up, So you typically don't get
to hear on PG related places.
Speaker 1 (12:51):
I guarantee, Well, the the rub doll on that is
that the team would play tight a little bit, and
that's why Louisville would lose some of those games because
Rick made it different than any other game and really
kind of wound you all up. But that was his tactic,
you would He would wind you all up all year long.
In about two weeks before the end of the season,
he cut you all loose, and that's how you all
(13:13):
would always make that run. At least that's my from
my seat, that's what I saw you. Obviously, he's a
player would know better. But let's talk about this year's team.
I don't want to say loaded or is that fair? No,
I mean, I think it's a great assessment of it.
You know, it's kind of wild to sit back and
think about this game. We're playing it in the third
game of the year. I know, it's it's weird. It
doesn't feel right. It's before the football game is kind
(13:35):
of that is different. It is different. You all played
it in the holidays.
Speaker 5 (13:39):
Yes, we played it like either before Christmas or after Christmas.
Speaker 3 (13:43):
Before New Year's right, correct, correct, Yes, that's it.
Speaker 1 (13:46):
So what do you think this team tell me about
the freshman? Is he as good as everyone says he is?
Speaker 5 (13:53):
Yes, but he doesn't have to do it by himself, right,
you know, he's he's leading the team in assists. He's
got my I think it's like seven and a half
a game. I mean so now, like you know when
you talk about a guy coming in there, but he can.
He has a ton of guys to pass too. You
have seven, you have six guys in double figures. And
I really the the roost kid is like really special.
I think he's a pro. I mean, he's a legit.
(14:15):
He's probably the best best pro prospect.
Speaker 3 (14:18):
I like him.
Speaker 5 (14:18):
He can do a little bit of everything. You know,
he's averaging eighteen eclip right now. You got to love
everything about his ability, and he can do so many things.
He can guard one through four, so you can switch
him on pick and rolls. I really like us in
this game tonight. I just I just want to see
who's going to be the X factor for us and
who's gonna be the X factor for them.
Speaker 3 (14:34):
Obviously, you know there's.
Speaker 5 (14:37):
There's a lot of depth here, but I really really
like the McNeely kid to stretch the defense tonight, and
I think and I want to see the Warley kid
get going as well.
Speaker 3 (14:43):
Is it just me?
Speaker 2 (14:44):
It seems like, you know, you can have odds makers
make odds, but when it comes to the statistics and facts,
it seems like it all kind of goes out the window.
When we're talking University of Louis with UK games, you
can have somebody that stacked and they're they're you.
Speaker 1 (15:00):
Know, there was always one guy.
Speaker 3 (15:02):
Yeah, but that goes.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
On motion can really throw this off, right.
Speaker 3 (15:07):
Well, well, look at the one year.
Speaker 5 (15:08):
You remember the year that Josh Harrison came in here
in Sport twenty Yes, and and everybody, and he had
a really good season his senior year.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
Well, Buckles heard his broke his finger the night before, yes,
and he played the four and Rick refused to play
a four. Remember he went to a four guards set
up against that and Harrelson was left open. He kept
fan tries on the bench, he.
Speaker 5 (15:28):
Kept double team in the post, and Josh Harrison would
die to the basket. But that I don't really give
Josh that credit. I give Cal that credit because if
you remember that summer cal made him get up and
work out every day at six am because of punishment,
and it ended up making him a better player. They
called him George because he wore Sorge every day, so
(15:48):
so you know, it ended up making him a better
play Like they called him George, like he would he
went and ran with it around campus. It was like
it was a thing, like it was a real thing.
So it was like a small movement in eastern Kentucky
if you want to call it that.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
George Louisville a lot of and a lot of these
games that I have covered and or watched, Louisville usually
comes out pretty well. They get a seven to eight
point lead, and we all start feeling good. Is hey,
we're gonna win. Look, because we have to be honest,
they've won ten of twelve and for the for the
rivalry overall, Dwight, it is like it's not in Louisville's
(16:19):
basketball favor It is either two to one or three
to one at this point, uh, Kentucky and then Kentucky
saw in the second half the same the same story
keeps going off and they end up winning by five
or six. How do you see this game playing out again?
All new players seems like on each team, so it's
harder to analyze that sort of situation. How do you
(16:43):
see this parent Johnson playing out tonight at the IMP Center.
Speaker 3 (16:46):
I like us. I think it's somewhere between three and
five points. Okay.
Speaker 5 (16:49):
You know when you look at this roster, the Chandler
kids been playing very well for them. But for me,
I think you got to contain could take oh take
away the oh Way kids? Yes, right now he is
probably he hasn't got going yet, right so like not
like he was last year, So I really think you
got to contain him. He has more turnovers than assists,
(17:10):
so when you guard him, you know he's not looking
to pass, he's looking to score. And there's nothing better
than trying to get yourself going in a season early
in a game like this. You know, we've seen Darren Peterson.
You know a lot of people saw that Kansas Exhibition.
But what a lot of people don't understand is that
kid is probably That was probably one of the greatest
(17:30):
performances you'll ever see in the YM Center. He scored
twenty four points and somewhere between seventeen eighteen minutes.
Speaker 3 (17:35):
We'll never see that again. It was sick.
Speaker 1 (17:36):
I love the Egyptian kid. What's his name on UFO's team, Oh,
Khalifa is I love him? Yes, he looks like he does.
He looks like that big, kind of little chunky dude
in the Catholic League that just kills you because he's
passing from the post and everything else.
Speaker 5 (17:52):
What do you think of him? If basketball was a team,
would this be sand lot to you?
Speaker 1 (17:55):
For exactly exactly right there.
Speaker 5 (18:00):
I love him because he can pass the basketball and
he can shoot the three at a high clip. He
doesn't take a ton of them, so you have to
respect him stretching the defense. But more importantly, he's the
other aspector for me as well, because he's gonna have
to guard Garrison or dio Bate tonight, and they've got
to contain him in that scenario in that case because
those got Kentucky's really athletic on the backboard.
Speaker 2 (18:20):
So I know we're going along here, but just out
of interest, tonight the games at eight o'clock, let's say
that you're playing on the team. Still, Now, what's your
daily routine? It's you could talk Final four and all that,
but we've established, especially with Rick Patino, this is the
biggest game of the year, Kentucky. What's your day like?
When do you get down there? Are you superstitious at all?
Speaker 6 (18:42):
What do you eat?
Speaker 1 (18:43):
Do you had to force yourself to eat?
Speaker 3 (18:44):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (18:45):
As the day goes on. Yes, I like noon games,
right because at the two o'clock you do the media,
you shower. You got the rest of your day, the
rest of your day over your head all day, right, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (18:57):
So you got it.
Speaker 5 (18:57):
You just kind of Draymond Green talks about this, You
got to win the day. Everything that I do that day,
I try to win. I try to prepare myself to
have success all day. I'm not having a lot of conversation,
you know, I'm gonna go to my classes for the day.
Now these jokers get to do everything online. For the
most part, we were in person, tangibly in a seat.
So right, so, you know, just win the day, hydrate,
(19:18):
talk to your family. I'm not taking a lot of
phone calls. But back then, it was just a cell phone.
It wasn't Twitter, it wasn't Instagram, it wasn't so many
other outlets where people are tapping in or reaching into you. Yeah,
so they had to do a lot more blocking out
the outside noise in my opinion. But back then, you know,
coach Rottina had sold out in We didn't really read
the paper or pay attention to a lot of outsoid noise.
Speaker 3 (19:39):
These kids are making money and they have brains.
Speaker 1 (19:41):
You were pre Internet, you were pre social media, so
you've got to enjoy that.
Speaker 2 (19:49):
But for example, eight o'clock game, what time do you
get to the m set?
Speaker 1 (19:52):
Well, okay, here's a good question, because Charlie Strong used
to check the football team in to a hotel and
treat it like they would be on a road game
even though they were home. Don't do that as basketball?
Speaker 5 (20:01):
Well did We didn't need to because we were on
the same dorm at the right dormy. How soon would
you get to the arena before the game? They just
have to sit there.
Speaker 3 (20:08):
Well, you would have to get there before.
Speaker 5 (20:09):
Like if you weren't there two hours before the game,
you were somebody's gonna stab you, Wooden spoon, so it
hurt more so you knowinters, But but I just really
think that My biggest thing was I would like to
get there like two and a half hours before, get
there before everybody else gets there, get my tape out
the way, get some shots up, get some shots up,
you know, get a heat pad and then you know,
(20:31):
sit on that thing, loosen up, you know, just get
just really like prepare your body. In Francisco did that.
Taekwon did that. So all the like we got we
went in groups. Like some guys would get there really early.
Some guys would get there right when they needed to be.
Speaker 3 (20:42):
You know.
Speaker 5 (20:43):
Some guys have like and everybody has their pregame routine.
So you kind of just stay in your little bubble
and make sure you get people their space to do things.
Like some guys put both socks on, like because I
were two pairs of socks while I used to play,
so pairs of socks. Yes, I mean because you know
you're playing for Rick Man, you gotta have some breaks
on those things. Man, you got you got, Man. I
don't want my I don't want my big total to
(21:03):
not be here.
Speaker 3 (21:05):
You know.
Speaker 1 (21:06):
Man, you're like Lieutenant Dan socks, make sure your feet
are good. Okay, So you're predicting Louisville win just by
a couple of points.
Speaker 5 (21:13):
Yeah, I think it's gonna it's gonna come down to
the backboard and if Alway doesn't get going, if Always
doesn't get going.
Speaker 3 (21:19):
I think Louisville wins easily.
Speaker 5 (21:21):
I think Mike Brown could have a good game, but
I don't think that's a focal point. We have a
very balanced attack, and I really think we should just
lean on the older guys and let Mike Michale Brown,
I'm sorry, grow into his own.
Speaker 3 (21:32):
And be who he needs to be.
Speaker 5 (21:33):
Coaching is a push, you know, you know he does
a great job with so much motion. If you've ever
been to a Pat Kelsey practice, the pace is crazy.
And I thought we were flying around when I was
with Rick.
Speaker 3 (21:43):
They fly.
Speaker 5 (21:45):

Speaker 1 (24:50):
So I looked at what I'd signed up for, because
a lot of times, you know, when you sign up
for insurance, I'm just like checking boxes and I don't
know what I'm checking. I did check hospitalization, huh, And
I went, oh my gosh. Okay, so I paid him too,
obviously for years for hospitalization. Well, well, obviously I was
in the hospital for a heart attack. It was eleven
hundred dollars. So okay, fine, that's what they that's what
(25:12):
they pay out. That's fine, eleven hundred dollars. They made
the process. I will tell you, I'll be honest with you.
I haven't finished the process. And that was a year ago.
It was a year ago, and I have not finished
the process. They make it so difficult. It's just your money, absolutely,
because they're they're waiting. If it wasn't for Jackie, I
would give it up. And I'm just sitting him still
trying to figure this out. But it's it's eleven hundred
(25:34):
dollars and they are making it so difficult. I can't
get to it.
Speaker 2 (25:37):
I won't call their name. But I went to another
organization in town. I had a surgery done. Are you
watching TV in there?
Speaker 6 (25:46):
Are you you're talking about me?
Speaker 1 (25:50):
Yes, something's playing in there.
Speaker 6 (25:51):
I'm sorry, I didn't know that I have my microphone?
Speaker 2 (25:53):
Are you So?
Speaker 6 (25:55):
There was there was a there was a voicemail that
just that just came through.
Speaker 1 (25:59):
And we're even boring to our producer mile Am I
even virtual reality worlds. He is listening to his voicemail
messages while producing our show with a live mind.
Speaker 2 (26:16):
We even bore our producer with what was like, what
were we talking about?
Speaker 6 (26:20):
I can't even I'm trying to sabotage your show because
I haven't. I haven't beat yet reeling in the years.
I was gonna text John Alden, I couldn't and I
got distracted, and I'm just I'm down in the dumps.
Speaker 2 (26:29):
When were we talking about in my voice?
Speaker 1 (26:31):
It doesn't matter anymore because our producers listening to his
voice messages while we're on the air.
Speaker 2 (26:36):
But but I hadn't I stopped talking. I had a point.
I was like, yeah, we got sucked into it. We
want to listen to that voicemail.
Speaker 6 (26:42):
This is better radio than whatever you were talking about.
Speaker 1 (26:45):
Oh wow, so you triple down. Oh my gosh, to
be honest, sir, because the meeting later was more entertaining.
My voicemail was more entainer in the show.
Speaker 2 (26:56):
And if you say you guys say no offense at
the end that way, we're not offended.
Speaker 6 (27:00):
Sorry, no offense.
Speaker 1 (27:01):
Oh okay, with that all due respect I got. Don't
take this the wrong way.
Speaker 6 (27:09):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 2 (27:12):
What we're even talking about.
Speaker 1 (27:13):
Because you said you had surgery somewhere.
Speaker 2 (27:16):
Yeah, okay, thank you. We're talking about how screwed up
the medical community is. So I had surgery somewhere.
Speaker 1 (27:22):
You were trying to adjust that big schnaz you have.
Speaker 2 (27:27):
You know, I'm self conscious about my nose. Wits have
big noses and big ears. There's nothing we could do.
Speaker 1 (27:32):
About surgery that No, we're basically basket hounds. Jimmy duranty,
let's go.
Speaker 2 (27:39):
He wishes he had a nose, this big streisand looks
at me in awe. But my point was there's a
big sign behind the lady who was sitting the appointment
that says all surgeries must be paid for in advance.
And I'm like, I'm glad that's behind you, because out
of curiosity, how much is it my copay? What is
this going to cost me? She told me that number.
(28:01):
I said, let's put it on the credit card right now. Yes,
I had the surgery done. I paid up front. I
asked the person, what is one hundred percent of my cost?
Speaker 3 (28:11):
YEP.
Speaker 2 (28:11):
Eight months later, I get a fifteen hundred dollars bill.
Speaker 3 (28:14):
YEP.
Speaker 2 (28:14):
I call them and they said, oh, yeah, you're gonna
have to call your insurance company. And went, no, no, no,
I must stop you right there. I sat down at
the desk and I said, how much of my financially
responsible for I paid that? It sounds to me like
you need to call my insurance company and straighten something out.
I'm not wasting eight hours of my day. Happens every day,
(28:35):
long story, way longer. I'm getting dinged for like sixteen
hundred dollars on my credit report, but I'm not. I'm
not investing eight hours of my stay.
Speaker 1 (28:44):
That's what happened to me when I did this. Swallow
the nuclear pill to that before and then take the
MRI so you glow in the dark, so all your
stuff flows.
Speaker 3 (28:51):
In the dark.
Speaker 1 (28:51):
I did that, and I asked them I wasn't going
to do it if it was two grand I said,
I'm not if it's She goes, oh no, no, this
is just two and I sidenty five bucks. I'm looking
at your in church. You're good, and I went, okay,
then I'll do it. Got the bill for two greats.
Speaker 2 (29:06):
You'd be honest with me about something. What that night
if you swallowed the pill? Do you turn the lights
off and go.
Speaker 3 (29:11):
Hey, Jackie, look it's glowing.
Speaker 2 (29:16):
Was there a part I can't do that joke?
Speaker 1 (29:18):
And you well, they put the little pill in a
cup because they don't want to handle it, right, It's
kind of like it's in a cup and they go
and I'm like, they're like, hey, don't don't use your
hands on this, and they got like, oh, I shouldn't
use my hand, but I'm gonna swallow it.
Speaker 2 (29:32):
And they got like the fireplace scissor things go out
right here, just grab it here. It's kind of like
when you say, when you get an X ray and
they go put this lead vest and all this on,
and we're gonna go hut duck behind this four foot
concrete wall. What what for it?
Speaker 1 (29:47):
Oh, don't worry, don't worry. It safe for you professionals.
So I small swallowed the nuclear pill, glowed in the
dark for the MRI the next day. All right, folks,
