Speaker 1 (00:01):
Broadcasting live across the world right now.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
This is the John Jay and Rich radio program.
Speaker 1 (00:08):
I'm going to it.
Speaker 3 (00:10):
It's like big, I know, but I wanted a truth.
Speaker 1 (00:12):
Hello, you wanted the truth? What are you talking about?
Speaker 2 (00:16):
Wanted to trim it. I mean, I'm growing my beard
out for a show, and so I had to trim
it because obviously I want to look a little bit
more presentable.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
For the pickle ball event.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
So my hair, my beard looked a little bit like
Jack Black bushy, so I wanted to make sure it
looked it looked too basically homely, what's the show?
Speaker 3 (00:34):
Trim it down a little bit?
Speaker 1 (00:34):
Wait, so you want to get it to look like
Jake Paul Uh?
Speaker 2 (00:38):
Not that crazy at least I want to get it along.
But then I want to trim it to where it
actually looks like a it's boxed, almost like a Dan
Blasarian kind of beard.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
Oh that's not bad.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
Yeah, yeah, I've just been growing it out now for
a show for and Juliette that I'm doing, uh in.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
New York coming up in January, so doing on Broadway.
Speaker 1 (00:54):
Dude, I gotta tell you, I want to I know
you do a bunch of these radio interviews. I don't
know if you remember us or remember me, but the
last time I was with you, which it wasn't that
long ago, but I'm going to give you a hint. Okay,
we were hanging out and it started to rain and
then we all had to go inside.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
That was just the Stevenson's right.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
Yes, yes, Arizona.
Speaker 3 (01:15):
Yeh.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
Wasn't that a I like it wasn't that. It like
the way after it rained, the way we all made that.
It was like a beautiful little event.
Speaker 3 (01:21):
Oh, it was awesome. Yeah, it was very intimate. I
was like, that's the way it should be.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
Actually when we when we because I've done this there,
I've posted their events a few times and obviously it's
a little bit you know, it was outside the whole thing,
and then the weather obviously changes.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
You know. It was actually kind of cool though.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
It was more intimate, you know, and he had baby
face and then it was just actually a little more
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
It's cool. It was a cooler vibe.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
Actually, I liked it, you know, it was really cool?
Is that it is?
Speaker 3 (01:42):
Like?
Speaker 1 (01:42):
So David Foster was there, right, I've talked to him.
I don't know how many time it's been an event
talking million times. And then the TV show on Netflix
comes out called Nobody Wants This and it's written and
put together by her his daughter, which I didn't know
was is Sarah Foster. Do you know Sarah Foster?
Speaker 3 (01:56):
No, I don't.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
I mean I know of her, but I never Yeah,
I mean I know her as well from all the
things that she's done, her and her sister, but I
didn't know she was doing that.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
Yeah, it was crazy. Yeah, that shows great. So let's
talk pickleball, dog, what's up? What's this pickleball thing? What
are you doing?
Speaker 3 (02:08):
Well?
Speaker 2 (02:08):
You know coming up obviously if the inaugural dinks for
a different celebrity match. Basically it's going to be around
November sixteenth, Saturday, five thurdy. I'm gonna be out there.
I think it's over at the Arizona Athletic Grounds. I
believe that mistaken, but myself, Makesy Neely is going to
be hosting it.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
It's just it's it's one of those things.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
Where pickleballs are just it's pickleball is growing. It's amazing
how many places now almost like they have top golf
places that are like that.
Speaker 4 (02:34):
People are obsessed. In fact, I have a friend who's
a doctor who is now taking less patience during the
days so he can play more pickleball. He's like, just
just tell me what your problem is. I'll call you
a subscription. I got time for you.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
I'm gonna hit the pickball.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
You know it's it's one of those things where I think,
as especially for me, Well, let's be real here, one
of the reasons why I'm hosting it is to play sports.
To say, in my damn life, I love them, but
you can dance to be a part of it. But
I can dance. I know my left for my right.
I can run. However, catching the ball at the same
time or hitting obviously with a with a racket and
(03:13):
hitting something is really not technically very the most amazing
thing for me. For some reason, I just didn't get
that gene in my family. But however, I got to
singing in the dancing gene and the hosting gene, So
that's kind of reason why of course I'm out.
Speaker 3 (03:25):
There to do that. So we're pretty excited about that.
So you're not gonna hop out and do any pickleball
matches or anything and show your skills.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
I'm gonna you know what, I'm sure they're gonna probably
get me attempted to get my butt on the court,
and I probably.
Speaker 3 (03:37):
Will do it.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
Who knows, but I know there's a whole bunch of
other people that are coming out there to play.
Speaker 3 (03:40):
I believe Eric Decker.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
We have Jake Plummer, Amy Van Dagon whose Olympic gold medalist,
Fredi Munez driver. Now you can say he's an actor,
but now I was a NASCAR driver. This is really interesting,
but it's gonna be exciting. It's one of those things where,
of course a whole benefits is for USA pickleball is
going to be going to organization. It's charitable to different
obviously different proceeds and stuff WI super community and actives
and a bunch of stuff as far as court enhancements,
(04:03):
helping out kids. I'm literally like one of the there's
a bunch of people actually are going to be out
there this.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
Year and it's it's exciting.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
It's the first time that they're ever having this, first
time ever doing it, so it's things for a difference
depending on people want to come and check it out.
It range from forty bucks to two hundred dollars. They
can obviously check and go online USA pickleballt Nationals dot com.
They want to get tickets. I'm giving you all the information.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
It's this Saturday.
Speaker 3 (04:27):
Eat it if you do it is This Saturday is presented.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
By Learner and Row There. They're big time lawyers. They're
great guys. They always give back to the community, so
it's no surprise of sponsoring this.
Speaker 4 (04:36):
And Joey Fatone hosting anything is great. I saw him
at Celebrity Fight Night, John Jayson the last time he
saw you. I want to remind you of the very
first time I saw you, and you might remember this show.
It was six Flags over Dallas and I think it
was you Shack and Jennifer Paige Oh wow, And I
(04:57):
think it was you out your very first album and
I just started did ye throwing it back.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
Jennifer Pace came out with Crushed, just.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
Crush, Oh my god, do you remember that?
Speaker 4 (05:08):
Do you remember that show with I have never seen
a taller human being in my whole life than Shaquilone.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
I was just talking about that the other day. I
actually just went to a magic game against the Hornets
last night, and the funny part about was that we
were just talking about, like saying, hi, to somebody likes say,
have you ever I was talking to my girls. Have
you never met I.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
Don't think you ever met Shack?
Speaker 2 (05:26):
And I said, have you ever have Shack shake your hand? Yes,
his fingers like your elbow, like literally like when he
shakes your hand, his palm is in your hand. However
his fingers are by your arms. Yeah, it's amazing.
Speaker 4 (05:41):
It's truly astounding, like a giant man. You were just
I mean we were all little, we were all kids
back then. It's cool to see that you're still doing it.
And I thought when you came out and and you
and Chris Kirkpatrick at the Celebrity Fight night, when you
guys did in sync songs, I mean, you just still
sound great, you dance great, you look great.
Speaker 1 (05:59):
It was it was fire.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
It's one of those things where you know, who knew
you know again with the whole thing with Deadpool three
coming out and you know, the whole song and kind
of resurged it and everything else. It's one of those
things where I think people are excited to see kind
of nostalogic kind of wanted to see the you know,
in sync and people love to watch Backstreet and all
these other bands. These nineties groups, I guess come about
because it's something that you know, we grew up listening to,
(06:23):
just like even you know, my parents and stuff like that.
When I was younger, they'd be like, all right, well
let's go see Frankie Valley. You know, I love to
go see this person. And they were older then at
the time, but yet they still want to go see them.
And I think that's kind of kind of what's happening now.
People want to an outlet and they want to have fun,
and I think, you know, listening to that music and
going back and reverting to some of that stuff, and
it's good music. I mean, that's really what it is.
Speaker 1 (06:44):
Meanwhile, frank Valley's ninety two and still on tour.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
Well, yeah, well it's different. I mean, God bless him
for crying out loud.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
He said he wants to be out there, but it
looks like the man is like someone wind him out
and just put him out there.
Speaker 3 (06:58):
Poor guy.
Speaker 2 (06:59):
I mean, if he wants to do, let him do it.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
But it's interesting they speaking of Wolverine a Deadpool too.
It just dropped on on Disney Plus and I was
just curious, how did that song get in the movie.
And did they run it by you? Did you know
or you didn't know until the movie came out.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
No, they have, well they have to basically of course,
it's it's our voices and our likeness, and of course
the person that wrote it, Max Martin, they have to
go to. So we got about I think it was
about a year and a half before the movie even
came out, maybe even more than that. We got we
got an email from our Lauras and hey, they'd love.
Speaker 3 (07:27):
To use Bye Bye Bye, and literally said that.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
The description was the time variants are coming to get Deadpool,
and Deadpool was beating him.
Speaker 3 (07:36):
Up with bones. That's all they told us.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
We knew, I knew nothing else.
Speaker 3 (07:41):
So we went to the premiere.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
It was great, though, Like we went to the premiere
and Ryan was like, dude, you have no idea. How
excited I am for you to see this. We had
no idea that I honestly, the whole like pretty much
the whole song is in the beginning credits, had no idea.
And it was like, that's pretty freaking cool. That's an
amazing homage. And then all of a sudden, you see
the trends and all these young kids doing the dancing, like,
who it's the Deadpool Dance and the mom's.
Speaker 3 (08:04):
Like, no, that's by by Bye dance. It is now again.
It's pretty crazy.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
Yeah, hey, I got a little behind the scenes. So
there's another person on our show. Her name is Kyle
and she's going to be hosting with you. She's hilarious,
she's funny, she's beautiful. But she happens to be in
the other room right now talking to the pickleball people.
They want to We're like, wait, we have Joey Fratona
right now.
Speaker 3 (08:30):
So she's funny.
Speaker 1 (08:31):
Yeah, so she's in the other room talking to them
while we're talking to you. So you make sure she's
gonna come by and say hid and she goes, I
was supposed to be on that interview with you. I'm
so sorry.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
Just like hopefully I'll be obviously I'll be able to
see her when she's when she's out.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
There, so okay, so it's gonna be exciting.
Speaker 2 (08:44):
I mean again, it's one of those things where pickleball
has been around actually for so many years, but now
that it's just gotten this traction and again it's it's again,
it's it's to get out there, it's it's to get
your body moving. It's it's a healthy thing to do. Again,
It's it's one of those things where you know less
it even is less. I mean, yes, it is a
little bit on your knees, but it's less as suppose
as if you were playing real tennis and runner ut.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
I mean, but it's it's it's they're all sports.
Speaker 2 (09:08):
It's just it's just depending on how what the mobility
is that you have and you do.
Speaker 4 (09:12):
You can get your butt worn out playing pickleball.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
I have before.
Speaker 4 (09:14):
It's like, it's surprising, it's no joke.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
Hey, People magazine just dropped their Sexiest mant Live issue
and it's John Krasinski.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
Your thoughts, you know what he's just said.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
I think Johnson said, you gotta it's overall, not just
I think it's not just the looks that it's the brain.
Speaker 3 (09:30):
I think it's everything. At what he's accomplished.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
It should be just looks. Come on, it should be
freaking Brad Pitt every year.
Speaker 2 (09:37):
You know, Yeah, we all can't be Brad Pitt, though,
you know, we gotta gotta at least have some I mean,
you know, instead.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
Of Brad, we got you know, all right, all right, dude,
so we'll see you this weekend. We'll see a Saturday
five thirty dinks for a difference. Uh that it's a
USA Pickleball dot org. You can give more information at
the Arizona Athletic Grounds. Amazing, wait to see this place.
It's humongous, it's human.
Speaker 3 (09:58):
I'm here, I hear it's beautiful. Got to seem some pictures.
Speaker 2 (10:00):
So I'm very excited and please check it out. We're
gonna have a great time. It's gonna be a lot
of fun, lost celebrities, a lot of stuff, and hopefully
we get to do this like every year, make it
bigger and.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
That'll be dope.
Speaker 4 (10:09):
Man.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
All right, thanks for calling in, dude, No problem, my pleasure.
Speaker 3 (10:12):
You guys there.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
Bye bye bye you hit bye bye bye. Okay, okay
later
