Speaker 1 (00:00):
Okay, we are taping for our podcast. Possible on air content.
It depends on on riches delivery.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
Or if we can get a hold of the person who.
Speaker 1 (00:10):
This effects, right, right, So what's the story?
Speaker 2 (00:13):
Well, you know, I just got married about a year
and a half ago, so I'm new to my wife
and her family. Family is super important to me, and
her sister is just had a birthday, in fact, the
same day as your birthday, John Jay, September fourth. So
I send her a little text message and I said,
what are you doing to celebrate? They live in California,
and she says, We're going out to a restaurant Ocean's
(00:36):
forty eight in liu Age. What is it?
Speaker 1 (00:38):
Newport Newport Brand in Newport.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
So I start telling Stacy about I'm like, didn't she
say she's a huge fan of prosecco. I said, since
we know they're going to be there, why don't we
get them a bottle of prosecco and have it sent
to the table right when we get there with a
happy birthday card.
Speaker 1 (00:54):
So, by the way, when you were telling me this
story a couple of days ago, when you said prosecco,
I thought that it's the salami that's all cut up
that they bring out for sure, And then he kept saying, brob,
it's a sweeter.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
Such a boy, I've never heard of prosecco. So Stacey
and I are on the speakerphone. We call the restaurant
together and we check out to make sure that they've
got a reservation there and it's at six fifteen, so
we confirm that that is them. They will be there.
So we start talking like, what is your best bottle
of this Italian champagne? We call persecco, So they tell
(01:32):
me it's like fifty bucks and then plus tax, and
then you get to, you know, tip out the server
please deliver it to their table and say happy birthday
from Stacy and Rich and now we're in good. It's
all all fine. So I guess the dinner happens. But
I've never heard a thank you note for so I
don't know if they delivered the champagne or if she
got it and just didn't say thank you because she
(01:52):
just doesn't want to say.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
Could she have.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
Written a thank you card? And it may be in
the mail. It could be, it could be, but sometimes
that takes a lot a little bit longer.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
But you'd almost think that, like in this day and age,
how sweet you would get a text? Because I already
we're already texting about her birthday, so there's probably a
conversation going. So I asked Stacy, and I said, should
you just ask her flat out? She said, oh, yeah,
I'm going to be talking to her tomorrow about something else,
something else. But then she said she didn't she didn't
have the guts to ask her. She was afraid to
(02:21):
ask her.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
What do you say, Hey, did you get did you
get that ball?
Speaker 3 (02:24):
I want to make sure that it got delivered because
I didn't she paid for her, because what if she
didn't get it? And that's why there's been no thank you?
Speaker 2 (02:31):
Yeah, what if they charged us for us and they
never dropped it off.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
The other thing is that restaurant's pretty efficient.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
That's what I thought. I mean if it's the same
people that own you know, like Stake forty four and
Ocean forty four or less.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
I mean, they just opened. So unless if that's the
thing we break, can go they fell to the cracks
because it's brand new, Yeah, and maybe they don't.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
So what would happen?
Speaker 1 (02:48):
You call it? What's Stacy's sister's name.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
Her name is Robin, so I sent her number back
to Nick. Now I haven't talked to her at all
since the birthday?
Speaker 4 (02:54):
Is this that?
Speaker 3 (02:55):
Like, did you send her another birthday gift?
Speaker 2 (02:57):
Or was this the only?
Speaker 3 (02:59):
So she may be thinking like did they forget? Like
she didn't get it.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
She used big words like Stacy too. Is she really smart?
Speaker 2 (03:06):
Yeah, they're they're they're all brain acts. They're all like,
you know, they all talk about like I don't even
know what they're saying. Honestly, they're like, I graduated, Summa
cum lattie. I graduated, but like all the bodies, they're
all that, they were all.
Speaker 4 (03:20):
You know, rich.
Speaker 5 (03:22):
You and Stacy are on top of like a super
pop and trend right now of how girlfriends are testing
their boyfriends. But basically, like girls are telling their boyfriends
they're going out to dinners like girl dinners with their friends, huh.
And then they tell the boyfriends where they're going out
to eat, and it's like basically a clue to tell
the boyfriend to call the restaurant to send them their
favorite cockl.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
Test.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
Yeah, that's a test, and most guys will fail.
Speaker 5 (03:46):
The mind would definitely fail. I don't even think he
knows my favorite cocktail.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
Because I thought pretty nice that we're just chatting in
a new family. I'm like, okay, let's let's swoop in.
Speaker 4 (03:55):
They're totally nicer.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
But there's no there's no credit at all. Or maybe
she just doesn't think it's a very good gift, like
that's interesting.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
Yeah, she didn't get it. That's what I would think.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
You know. What's funny is that I've been thinking of
something like this has been on my mind lately because whenever,
like we give presents to people, like Kyle always sends
a thank you, she always always, and I would just think,
how it was my birth the other day and you
guys haven't got me presents. But I said thank you.
Speaker 4 (04:20):
That's okay.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
Person, I didn't do it, so I was all concerned, like.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
And you said thank you many times?
Speaker 1 (04:25):
Right, Okay, we have Robin on the phone.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
Awesome.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
Oh no, we're calling Robin cold call.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
I'm nervous for you rich this guy.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
This could drive away.
Speaker 6 (04:38):
Price with Fidelity National Home warranty and disclosure source. Please
leave me and Robin we'll return the calling message Rob
Robin right there eight one for.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
Back come back.
Speaker 4 (04:56):
She'd be like, why does this man keep calling me?
Speaker 5 (04:59):
First he marries my sister, and now he's harassing.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
My phone over on my voicemail on your podcast.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
She doesn't know anything about her brother in law. Who
do I know? What iHeart met Rich? I'm not.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
Who is it? I don't know how in I am
with her either, So this could be very this could
be terrible.
Speaker 4 (05:19):
Say you're calling her.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
She doesn't know either, mess because she would probably tell
me not to because she didn't ask right, she was
afraid to ask, so she'd be asked for forgiveness. Radio
is more important.
Speaker 6 (05:35):
I don't want to talk about dissure.
Speaker 1 (05:38):
No, I'm no prosecco. What's it called prosecco? Like a person.
But I do know that restaurant, and I gotta believe
you called up and said, give me your best bottle
of champagne. It ain't fifty.
Speaker 2 (05:49):
Bucks, No, it really was. It was. It was fifty bucks,
fifty dollars and then like a whole bottle with tax
and tip, you know.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
Like I mean, you get you get like an old
fashion and it's fifty dollars.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
I think there's smaller bottles. Actually, maybe that's why.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
She's all insulted to give her the little tiny one
to kind of get an airplane one, a little airplane
model that's just from your brother in law.
Speaker 3 (06:08):
Happy birthday, Thanks a lot.
Speaker 2 (06:14):
For nothing. Thanks for the zip.
Speaker 4 (06:16):
We're gonna try again.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
To chat. Go ahead. What's so funny is, as you're
in the middle of doing this podcast, I am in
the process of ordering.
Speaker 5 (06:25):
My mom prosecco for her birthday.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
You start talking about prosecco.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
Whens and Mom's birthday Monday next Monday. Well, she likes prosecco.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
I'd treat her, but she probably would say thanks.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
That's so wild. I've never I've never really heard of it.
Speaker 3 (06:38):
Now mimosas no ask John Jay how he says mimosa.
Speaker 4 (06:46):
How do you say mimosa?
Speaker 1 (06:48):
I have no idea.
Speaker 2 (06:49):
Maybe Mexican.
Speaker 5 (06:53):
You cute?
Speaker 2 (06:53):
Robin? Hey, Hey, it's rich How are you.
Speaker 5 (06:58):
I'm good? How are you doing.
Speaker 2 (06:59):
I'm to do an excellent I want to introduce you
to my friends on the radio show. John Jay is here.
Say hi to my my siss Robin.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
Hello, Robin and Kyle, how are.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
You, Pat?
Speaker 1 (07:10):
Hi?
Speaker 2 (07:11):
Hi, Peyton?
Speaker 6 (07:13):
And MIA's in the car with me too.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
Oh excellent. Well, I have a I have a question
for you. How was your birthday? Did you have a
nice birthday?
Speaker 6 (07:21):
My birthday was awesome. And thank you for the beautiful
bottle of Prosectoh you sent.
Speaker 5 (07:26):
Over to our table.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
You got it? I didn't hear back, I Mike, I
wonder if it even showed up at their table.
Speaker 6 (07:33):
Of course it did with a nice car.
Speaker 5 (07:36):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (07:36):
Oh excellent? All right, good.
Speaker 1 (07:38):
He was concerned he didn't hear he didn't. He thought
maybe you didn't get it, and he didn't know how
to do it. So we're like, we'll just bring it
up on the radio show.
Speaker 6 (07:44):
Yeah, I thought, oh my gosh, we got it.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
Didn't like him, I thought you lover. I just thought
you didn't care for me at all as one of
your new relatives. Yeah, by the way, you said, Stacy,
I thank her. So she didn't tell you.
Speaker 5 (08:05):
She did not acting like you're surprised, Rich, I am
convinced that you and Stacey don't communicate.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
I talked to her about everything. She tells me nothing,
and in fact, she prides herself on not telling me things. Okay, hell,
why would why would she leave me hanging like that?
Speaker 1 (08:25):
That's you're spinning thinking about it.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
Did they get it today and I asked her about
it once the day after your birthday, but then I
forgot to ask her about it again.
Speaker 5 (08:34):
Oh well I did, cinthro thank you.
Speaker 6 (08:37):
I should have someone to sorry about that.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
Well, that's okay, as long as you had a nice birthday.
You know, John Jay and you share the same birthday,
so you both are virgos.
Speaker 1 (08:46):
September fourth, what you mean by Beyonce? Oh boy, that's great.
Speaker 3 (08:52):
Yay.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
Well you are the best. We we we love you
and we hope you have a continue to have a
good birthday celebration this whole month. Yeah, take the whole month.
Speaker 1 (09:02):
Thanks Robin.
Speaker 5 (09:03):
Oh I lost you.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
Sorry, we lost you too.
Speaker 2 (09:08):
Have an awesome day. Hey to the fam for me.
Speaker 5 (09:10):
God bless you, God bless you.
Speaker 1 (09:13):
Who's in the car nextroom?
Speaker 2 (09:14):
I didn't hear the name.
Speaker 4 (09:17):
Niece or something? Do you have a niece?
Speaker 1 (09:18):
You don't know your name, Britch.
Speaker 2 (09:23):
It might be her son's fiance, because I think they're
they're playing a wedding.
Speaker 1 (09:28):
Because she goes like Mia is in the car.
Speaker 4 (09:31):
Or something.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
Well, if it's the granddaughter, she's like four months so
she wouldn't be saying I like that yet.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
Oh I mean, she's an older the sister. She didn't like,
how old is she my granddaughter? Is she a hundred
to say how old she is?
Speaker 2 (09:47):
Well, the granddaughter. The granddaughter is like three or four months.
She's brand new. I don't think she's not dead.
Speaker 5 (09:52):
She might be the way that you say that the
the cole's over there.
Speaker 1 (09:58):
Might be talking along these same lines and be bounce.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
Are we not surprised that Stacy didn't tell me? Though
of course she didn't tell me, she probably.
Speaker 4 (10:05):
Not surprised at all.
Speaker 5 (10:06):
I literally was like, if you guys do not communicate,
I'll have Stacy texted me about vacation days.
Speaker 4 (10:11):
I'm like, talk to your husband.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
I don't know when we're on vacation, but let me bounce.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
Let me bounce a lot the same lines. Okay, So,
like I've been really thinking about this, Like people say
thank you for stuff and whatnot, you know, So like,
like I said, Kyle always says thank you, and I
wanted to make sure that I always say thank you.
And I did that to all you guys. Now on
the flip side of that, I gave somebody a birthday
present and never got to thank you, and I feel
like calling them out.
Speaker 3 (10:34):
Oh my gosh, do I is it in this room
with me?
Speaker 4 (10:36):
Did I forget?
Speaker 1 (10:37):
No, your birthday hasn't come up yet, Like I've been
sitting on for nine months. That is something you would do.
You would do it.
Speaker 3 (10:44):
You are not wrong, wrong, You would hold ont of
that for the rest of my life. Nine months.
Speaker 1 (10:49):
That would be nothing if I go over it. I mean,
I give Peyton a birthday present, but I don't.
Speaker 4 (10:55):
I definitely said thank you, yeah, but.
Speaker 1 (10:56):
You have a warn on yet, have you?
Speaker 5 (10:58):
No?
Speaker 4 (10:58):
Not yet, because I'm trying to pick the per freaking cute.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
Did Peyton like the pants we got her? And I
was like, I think so?
Speaker 5 (11:05):
They were really cute when you're in my favorite color.
I did have to go in exchange. And though I'm
very flattered you thought I wear an extra.
Speaker 3 (11:11):
Small, I do not wear an extra small.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
I had to get but it wasn't you. It was you.
So what happened was we weren't here on Jenna's birthday, right,
and Kyle, you know the way Kyle is, the day
before her birthday brought in a bunch of stuffer, right,
So that Monday or Tuesday, whenever we were back Blake,
I told Blake I said, hey, it's just birthday. So
it turns out that somebody texted Blake from Nordstrom where
(11:37):
Jenna was shopping, and the person helping Jenna is a
friend of my wife's. Oh that's cool, right, So Blake's like,
Jenna put this dress on hold? Why didn't we get
it for her? That's really nice? Find out how much
the dress is. First, for God's sake, you know, I
don't know Jenna's fashion, and turned it was a pretty
(11:57):
hefty price. But so and then Blake goes, why don't
we just get her a gift card too? I think
it's a Norrim or something. I said, that's fine, So Blake,
it's a gift card. And it was. It was a
nice gift card, I think. And I gave it to
Jennah that day we came out. Hey, I go ahead
and hand her the envelope. Never heard from her again,
never heard.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
That's not like Jenna and I.
Speaker 1 (12:17):
Wait for it every day. I wait for.
Speaker 4 (12:20):
Jenna.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
I don't think there was.
Speaker 3 (12:23):
I mean, like three times, like.
Speaker 1 (12:25):
Maybe she put it in Like I'm I'm curious to
watch her face, but I wonder if there's a camera
on her face. Are we filming.
Speaker 4 (12:32):
Okay, I got it.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
You weren't listening to the podcast. Okay she is okay,
good good? What about tell Grant to get to turn
a camera on her?
Speaker 5 (12:41):
Wait?
Speaker 4 (12:42):
Hold on, this is like in cinematic mode. Wait wait,
don't do it, just.
Speaker 1 (12:47):
No, get your hands a waving face. We were talking
about did you hear what we were talking about? We're
calling Rich's sister in law because Rich didn't think you
got to thank you from her for the gift. And
then we were going around We're talking about is Kyle
always says thank you and sends cards and stuff? And
then I was like concerned. I was like, man, I
want to make sure I say think it all you guys.
Then I brought up the gift that Blake and I
got you.
Speaker 4 (13:09):
Oh thank you? No I did?
Speaker 5 (13:12):
No?
Speaker 6 (13:13):
I did?
Speaker 4 (13:14):
I did? No I did?
Speaker 2 (13:16):
This is confusing, which one? No?
Speaker 5 (13:18):
No?
Speaker 4 (13:18):
I did?
Speaker 1 (13:19):
What did it? When? When?
Speaker 4 (13:20):
When you leave it to me?
Speaker 1 (13:22):
I don't Maybe I didn't open it and say thank you,
but I thank you forgiving I go, hey, I got
this is for your birthday.
Speaker 4 (13:27):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
But it's like, don't you think you should be some
sort of follow up after you open it? What it
is for sure acknowledge I had or the gift, and
then it's like at some point open it on your
own time and then be like, hey, that was great.
Blake's like, did Jenna say anything? And I go not really,
and then I go, actually no, and I hand her
a envelope. I went back in the studio. Then she's
you know, Blake's I called gen Z.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
Hold on don Z No, thank you? How glad I
are you that it's not you go ahead ownership?
Speaker 5 (13:59):
But that was a very generous kind gift and I
appreciate it very much, and I'm.
Speaker 4 (14:03):
Sorry that appreciate.
Speaker 1 (14:04):
I didn't let that.
Speaker 4 (14:06):
You gotta boost his ego. Sometimes John, you think you're
such a gift.
Speaker 1 (14:09):
No, it's not. But I think it falls under the
virgo category of being like, wait a second, like I
see her every day. I think it was a pretty
nice gift. Normally, normally we stay within the Pursuco price
range for each other, but it was about, you know,
you could have bought several pursuit goes. Yeah, generous, but
(14:34):
I would say you miss beekinning part of this podcast,
how you were shopping and the lady knew Blake right,
we're going back forth, and Blake wanted to oh, here's
part two to that. So Blake wanted to buy the
dress that you were looking at that you put on hold,
and she never went back. Jenna never went back to
get the dress.
Speaker 5 (14:48):
How much it was expensive, and I was like, it
was so cute, and I have it another color.
Speaker 4 (14:53):
So I was like, I'll just have the color.
Speaker 1 (14:55):
Yeah, but the poor lady calls Blake every day, so
she ever gonna come by and get this dress.
Speaker 3 (15:01):
Only, John Jay, you can screw up a thank you with.
Speaker 4 (15:06):
I made sure that it was, but it was. I
very much appreciate.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
That you're welcome. Well, yeah, would just like Rich put
his sister in welcome the same response that Robin gave.
If she would have said, oh I texted Blake and
said thank you, that I would be like, okay.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
Uh huh.
Speaker 1 (15:24):
But she didn't text Blake. She didn't.
Speaker 4 (15:26):
I don't think I have Blake's number, that's all.
Speaker 2 (15:28):
I think you texted Stacey and said thank you for
the prize. But I did not see a text at
all to text. Oh, I did.
Speaker 1 (15:37):
Communicate with yourself, that's all, Jenna, that's all I want.
Speaker 4 (15:42):
Thank you very much. I'm sorry thank you.
Speaker 1 (15:46):
That's it. That's our podcast. What it's like to.
Speaker 2 (15:51):
Mike do something nice, but you better say, oh.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
My god, I was.
Speaker 2 (15:54):
I was.
Speaker 1 (15:54):
I was mad at Noah for a long time because.
Speaker 4 (15:57):
I sent him up poster stuff.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
Oh wait, we've dressed out on the air. I was
met at Noah from when I set him up to
go meet freaking Melanie Martinez and went backstage. You go
meet Mellie Man. I never heard anything. He post all
these pictures. But that's why when you set them up
with Alec Benjamin, I was. I walked in here, I
go to Rich, I go, didn't know a state, thank you,
and he goes, yeah he did, go okay, he just
didn't to me. You're all freaking about Melie Martinez. I'm
(16:20):
like pulling strings like crazy so you can meet Melanie Martinez.
I see you post it. I never get a hey, Jeorgie,
thanks so much. It was awesome. Nothing from now on.
You're getting proscuco.
Speaker 2 (16:33):
Okay, that's our podcast, you guys. Robin just text me.
She said they did bring by the prosecco, but they
said it was on the house. Didn't say it was
from you until she said she figured it out later
that'd be so funny
