Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ross, have you had any of this in the kitchen?
This is oh, this is delicious. This is Patriots fan
tiers over the first half of their NFL season schedule
that was released yesterday.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (00:16):
Yeah, it's almost as if they didn't play Pop Warner
teams all last year or.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
Whatever there's going to be And that's what happens when
you go to the Super Bowl. You get that first
place schedule, right yeah.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
Yeah, Ross, would you check and see if they only
played Division three NCAA teams last year for their schedule
because it kind of felt like it. Ros's gonna check
on that real quick. What do you guys? What you
guys had the cake, walkeet, all the cake, all the walking,
all the cake last year. I'm sorry that you have
to play teams about five hundred okay, so really bad
(00:51):
for you guys, But these tiers are delicious.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
The Bills open up with the Texans and then like
four days later they have to play the Lions.
Speaker 1 (01:02):
Yeah, hang in just to sec here. Yeah yeah, it's
Sunday to Thursday. Man, that's brilliant. It's in prime time
because it's Thursday, so well at least it's on prime
videos and maybe as many people will see it. Yeah,
I'm just gonna reviewing your schedule here do the thing's uh,
(01:24):
you guys have a tough schedule, man. In fact, h
let's see here. I pulled some rankings on these schedule.
I think you guys have the eighth toughest. Am I
reading that correctly? I think that is Vikings are eleven. Yeah,
let's see here. Yeah, you guys got Baltimore. Of course
(01:45):
you got to play Patriots twice because the division.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
Thing Christmas and I can't you know, with a new coach,
it's gonna go one way or the other.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
So yeah, you're playing Denver and Denver's no joke. Man,
Oh it's brutal. So Christmas and Thanksgiving. What did you
say about the coach?
Speaker 2 (02:04):
Oh, I say it's gonna go one way or the
other with a new coach. H we'll say that goes.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, we got I'm a little disappointed in
the Vikings schedule for a couple of reads'll look at
that Batway hold on Boston. Paul's trash talking. You know,
we have to play your division. That you guys are
a AFC matchup this year. Division, so of course that
means we gotta play the Patriots. We got to play
the Bills. Uh, we play you. I guys, what a
(02:30):
Monday night game? Right?
Speaker 2 (02:31):
Yeah? I think it's around week nine, Yes.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
Week nine, Monday night at well it's at Minnesota. I
just got that going for me. All right? Hold on?
What is what is Boston Paul sending me emails about
this far? Are you crying about your schedule too? Oh?
Are you a little sad? Oh?
Speaker 3 (02:51):
No?
Speaker 1 (02:53):
Okay, wait hold on. So he's pointed out that the
Vikings Patriots played December tenth. That is correct. I got
one dollar. I bet you got auto corrected or something.
I want to bet one dollar, says the Vikings lose
or would you like to increase that amount by one
hundred or more? Boston Paul. I do not gamble, sir,
(03:14):
on my team. I am. I you're a degenerate gambler.
It's one of yours. It's one of the many things
that concerns me. I will not I'm not gonna fall
into your vice, so, uh, don't worry about it. Plus
you don't you don't want you don't want this? Okay?
(03:37):
All right? Wonderful? Uh? Eight eight eight nine three four
seven eight seven four wait, Cowboys have a tough schedule too.
I'm just looking at some of the schedule ranks here.
M dude, I just say, I hate that the Packers
are getting away with one. So the Packers, you know,
they're not They're probably not gonna have Micah Parsons for
the first like four weeks, and while they do play us,
(04:03):
it's uh, the it's it's not the strongest of schedules
during that time. Basically they don't have to they don't
have to face any proven quarterbacks like I don't know
what the health that Kyler Murray's going to be, whether
we're gonna be able to play him or we gotta
go JJ McCarthy. But uh, basically they're gonna get to
face all the teams where Micah Parsons isn't necessary all
(04:25):
during the time that he is injured there. So yeah,
let's see here. Now the Panther schedule is interesting. Well
I just headed up here. Yeah, that's right, we're just
uh we do a little football thing here to uh
(04:45):
to open it up. Let's see here. Yeah, so Chicago
right off the bat, chicag I think Chicago has the
toughest schedule. Yeah, if you go, if you factor last
year's win, laws, so I mean there's other ways to
(05:08):
calculate tough schedule. But so I mean that Chicago opener,
that's gonna be a tough hee. But then it's Atlanta,
then it's Cleveland, so that's good to do, to do,
do do do do? I only gonna play in the
Hall of Fame game too, and then I know we
(05:29):
play Minnesota and Carolina play that is December sixth. Okay,
all right, well are we happy? Are we not happy?
I don't know, but watching watching the Patriots fans react
to it like they didn't just get the easiest thing
you've ever had last year? Unacceptable? Still waiting for an answer.
(05:53):
I told you, man, gambling, gambling is it's not healthy
for you, not against me. So I'm doing you a favor, man,
I'm trying to save you your beer money because they care. Okay,
all right, coming up on the show, we'll chat with
mister Pete Calender. That'll be coming up at eighth five.
(06:13):
Because I don't know, things are sounding super racisty up
in Charlotte there over who's going to be the mayor?
When you have the Charlotte NAACP head saying things like this.
Speaker 4 (06:23):
Why would we replace the black outgoing mayor with a
white person? That's simple.
Speaker 1 (06:30):
Yeah, all right, we'll get into the whole thing with her.
But it sounds that sounds super racist, but I'm being
told that it's not by members of the mainstream media
who are really not covering this thing because actions speak
of volumes. All right, So that's just one little taste
of it. We'll bounce around. We got some Virginia news
for you, some mayor Pete insanity, a little more, a
(06:56):
little more follow up on the China trip. And why
are city council members or the why are they having
fistfights at the Rocky Mountain City Hall during the council meetings?
What's up with that? What an absolute dumpster fire? All
of that is so lots to get to. Busy Friday
phone number eight eight eight nine three four seven eight
(07:17):
seven four back in just a few all right. I'm
sitting here and I just wanted to make sure I
fully understood this dude's position. So yesterday some kind of
crazy happened. I don't know that I've ever seen this happen,
let alone to happen in a major championship. In this case,
(07:37):
the PGA Championship. So there is there's this younger golfer.
His name is Garrick Hego Hijo. He's from South Africa.
It's higg O. Not super familiar with the dude, but
now I am because he did a thing that again
I've never seen. He showed up late for his tea time,
(07:58):
which went, you know, you just you don't do that.
And more specifically, it's pretty well lined out to the
point where there's actual penalties for it. Like everything in golf,
there's penalties everything, man, and the penalty for not showing
up on time to your tea time. And specifically, here's
(08:19):
the deal. You can't. It doesn't just mean you're on premises, right,
you're over the putting green, you're over the driving range,
that doesn't count. You have to be you have to
present yourself prior to your tea time, to the to
the starter and the scorers. Right, you have to go
physically there the first tea presents yourself and then now
(08:42):
you're checked in. Now you guys are gonna go ahead
and tee off. And if you are, if you are
not within the window for when you're supposed to do that,
and depending on the tournament. You may have to present
ten minutes before. You may have to just be defined
by the actual start time. I believe his tea time
was seven eighteen, seven nineteen something like that. You have
to physically be there at make contact and be ready,
(09:04):
be ready to hit, is really how to define it.
And if not, you get a two stroke penalty. Dude
got a two stroke penalty. And what's crazy is they're
asking him about it and he's like, he's so nonchalant,
like bro I was. There was so one response. He's arguing, well,
(09:24):
my tea time was seven eighteen, and when I physically
stood up on the box it was seven eighteen and
thirty five seconds, so that's still technically seven eighteen. So
what's the problem here? Another thing? I quote, really don't
think it's my job to be ten minutes early. No,
(09:46):
it kind of is. And here's the crazy part. If
he hadn't ha taken that penalty, he shot a sixty
nine yesterday. If he hadn't taken that penalty, he'd be
tied for the lead. Now he's two back. But man, don't,
if you're gonna be gen Z, don't don't make it
so easy for people to criticize gen Z. That's great.
(10:09):
Can you imagine that in any other sport? Right, can
you Ross? Can you imagine like uh off the air
used Jared Allen? Can you imagine up and then they
got a Josh Allen excuse me, they got a haul
them from the parking lot on the little cart into
the stadium.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
Yeah. My job is between kickoff and you know, the
final tick of the clock. That's what I'm getting paid for. Yeah, wow, No, dude,
you need to show up like hours early.
Speaker 1 (10:33):
Man.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
You can't just show up a kickoff.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
Hey, yeah, hey, this is what this is where, this
is what you guys pay me.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
I don't know. I'm still putting his uniform months standing
on the table or standing on the field.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
You know, I don't know the rules of golf because
I'm not that familiar with the game on it. Lastly,
but I imagine like if I'm competing in like a
big like PGA Championship, Yeah, I'm showing up like an
hour early, two hours early.
Speaker 1 (10:55):
Well he was, he was on site early, but he
was over jacking around on the putt and in fact,
there's video of his caddy screaming at him like what
pro what are you doing? And he's just lollygagging for
lack of a better word. But it's just the response
to it, just to own it, just be like, I'm stupid,
I'm dumb. I was like, I don't know, for whatever reason,
(11:15):
I just got you know, it's I think it's his
first PGA championships. I'm overwhelmed. I wasn't looking at it.
I'm stupid. I'll take my penalty. I'm dumb. That's it.
That's how you handle it. Don't don't literally give me
the quote. I don't really think it's my job to
be ten minutes early. People aren't going to react to
that well or arguing, well, if it's seven eighteen and
(11:36):
my watch says it's seven eighteen and thirty six seconds,
that's still seven eighteen, Especially not in golf, which can
be a bit of a stodgy sport. People are just
gonna laugh at you. But then to go out there
even more brutal, to go out and literally shoot tied
for the best round but not be tied because you
(11:56):
didn't show up on time. It's just crazy. I'm trying
to think of any other example. I'm sure there's been
some example of some entitled sports person showing up like
five minutes before. But I don't know what all the
cutoffs are in all the different sports, Like is there
a cutoff in the NFL where you have to check
(12:17):
I don't know the answer to that, So for the
NBA or whatever it is. But yeah, not a good answer, bro,
people are just gonna make fun of you, know, uh
I I don't know. See people are asking, I don't
fully know because each of the as far as they're asking,
(12:41):
what are the specific rules for the PGA Championship, I
don't know. I'm just giving you the process. I know
the rules are apparently that you get a two stroke
penalty when you show up when he showed When he
showed up a lot of times, there is a window
in which you have to check him with the starter.
It's kind of like if you go play a nice
golf course that has starters or even immuni there. You know,
if you don't check in by a certain time, they
(13:03):
can assess certain penalties, like they can jump your t time.
It just depends where you are. But for the frame
for one of the four major championships and men's golf,
to not be on time for your tea time you
know the person on these things. One, the PGA Championship
is unique and is that it's the only tournament that
(13:23):
is purely pros purely pros. Both of the Opens and
the Masters all have amateur components and other stuff like that,
which means so the PGA Championship is all business. Is
the point that I'm making. I want to say, the
person is like twenty mili on it. So like, if
you just make the cut you're making, you're making You're
(13:46):
making a lot more money than most people are going
to make in this country for making one cut. It's
that important. So man, you want you want to go
ahead and get it right. And the other thing is
these guys are all routine. Golfers are routine, man Like,
they show up and they're and they're and they're like
baseball players in that there's a lot of like what
(14:12):
am I superstition? So I gotta have this head cover.
I have to hit exactly twenty seven shots with my
nine iron, twenty seven shots with my things like this,
I have to be one one hour and fifteen minutes
before I have to drink two bottles of water and
then go do fifteen putts from the left fifteen puts
from the right. These guys are absolute machines in the
(14:37):
repetitiveness of what they do. Boston Paul, what's up.
Speaker 5 (14:42):
Yeah, I guess that kid doesn't know the John Daily story,
you know, and I had a little punk So anyway, yeah,
I took Reed. Who'd you take for the PGA.
Speaker 1 (14:55):
I talked about this yesterday. The only one of the
two that I thought might win that's still in, you know,
tied to Scheffler. But I kind of feel like that's
an easy pick.
Speaker 5 (15:05):
So I like to see one of the guys that
have been struggling for years when it too like a
Ricky Fowler J T h even speak, you know, somebody
come up and do something.
Speaker 1 (15:16):
But yeah, Ricky Fowler. They turned Ricky Fowler into the
you know, the the greatest guy who isn't achieving what
you know, the old Michelson story. I think Valor's that
guy now.
Speaker 5 (15:27):
So and I kind of missed that Daily's not in
this time around too, with his loud parents. But so, yeah,
I guess we're going up against a lot of the
teams that your team couldn't can't win last year. But
I think it will be all right.
Speaker 1 (15:42):
So you don't want to better the team played the ross.
Would you check this? I believe the Patriots last year
entire schedule was against the last year.
Speaker 5 (15:50):
I mean, I mean, I'm talking about this year. The
teams you couldn't beat last year, we got to play
this year.
Speaker 2 (15:55):
I mean, in Paul's defense, and I'm only saying this
because he took down Weddy Bulger and I'm kind I'm
afraid of them. Right in Paul's defense, they did beat
the Bills last year.
Speaker 5 (16:06):
Hey, hey, one thing there, casey, in case I don't
run into you next week, I catch up to you.
You have a happy birthday.
Speaker 1 (16:14):
All right. I don't know what you're referring to, but
okay birthday? Holl that?
Speaker 3 (16:20):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (16:21):
No, is today your birthday?
Speaker 1 (16:24):
No? No it's not.
Speaker 2 (16:26):
Is tomorrow your birthday? No, it's not Sunday your birthday?
Speaker 1 (16:30):
No? No, that he does this every year, he starts
this thing, and none of it's accurate. I none of
those days.
Speaker 2 (16:41):
I got it back the blue. I kind of trust him.
Speaker 1 (16:45):
And a happy birthday, it's not any of those days.
You just I'm gonna find out my birthday. I think
I have, like some noisemakers over in the thing. Great, okay, right,
he probably does. That's thing. He's digging in his drawer
and there's probably in there. Happy birthday, buddy, Happy birthday.
Have yourself a day.
Speaker 2 (17:06):
Whoo's Friday and your birthday. That's crazy.
Speaker 1 (17:10):
You guys want to know, you want to know what
Ross does because he thinks it's funny. He will take
those chickens. Because there's four of them now.
Speaker 2 (17:15):
Right, So if you don't know, this is a chicken
that a listener sent us. I think Corey sent these.
I'm not sure who sent them.
Speaker 6 (17:20):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (17:21):
And so it's a chicken with a Bills jersey on it,
and he set one with a Vikings jersey and a
Kansas No no, no, it was not Cory because it
was somebody that was a Kansas City fan. I apologize
forget name an awful person. But yeah, I've got a bunch
of these.
Speaker 1 (17:34):
There's a Vikings one, there's a Kansas City one. There's chickens. Yeah,
and they're obnoxious. And so what Ross likes to do
is height he jams them into my cabinet. I got
a red cabinet in my studio. So I go to
open the cabinet, you know, to get headphones or whatever
out of there, and all you say, and at o
(17:54):
dark thirty in the morning, you just hear that stupid
chicken going off and you think that there is a
demon in the room. You're like aoc when the garbage
disposals on and he thinks that's a music.
Speaker 2 (18:05):
You don't drink coffee, And I'm trying to wake you up. Man,
it'll do it.
Speaker 1 (18:09):
That'll scare, that will terrify you, first thing in the morning.
That's stupid chicken. So all right, let me let me
snag another phone call here. Hopefully this guy's phone holds
out unfortunately, which Boston Paul's did not want to to
get engineering on that. Yeah, Scotty, what's up?
Speaker 3 (18:26):
Okay?
Speaker 7 (18:27):
So I just wanted to talk about that Higo golfer.
Speaker 6 (18:30):
Yeah, yesterday when he is he knew he was pushing
the lemon, so he was over there on the putting
green and he knew it was coming.
Speaker 7 (18:40):
And like you said, Caddy was over there, the other
golfers were on the tabot and he is kind.
Speaker 6 (18:45):
Of casually he doesn't even run over there, like I
don't hurry.
Speaker 7 (18:48):
He just kind of casually walked over there with his
man Bun and his tight hands showing his ankle pt
it too short for it, and he just.
Speaker 1 (18:56):
Kind of and then after the tournament he had a
nervous say, it's unfortunate that the golf has these.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
Rolls, right.
Speaker 1 (19:05):
Yeah, he was completely unapologized.
Speaker 7 (19:06):
Like, can you be more unlikable?
Speaker 6 (19:09):
Dude? I'd never heard of the guy before, but I
mean I had to say another golfer that you know, Oh.
Speaker 1 (19:17):
That's the other thing. That's the other thing, Scott, Scotty.
I gotta point this out because you mentioned it's over
the putting green. You know what, do you know what
giant thing that is next to any putting green at
a big time course like this, A giant block, a
giant box, Yeah, a giant There will be, not on
a putting green or or anywhere in that vicinity, there
(19:38):
will be a giant clock, not a digital clock, like
an old and it just sits there. It looks like
a huge lamp post. And that is the official time.
So there is no messing this up. You can't even
pretend your watch was off. There's nothing.
Speaker 7 (19:52):
Yeah. Yeah, well, I mean, you know it's just, you know,
you shouldn't have rules. You should just apparently be a
to do whatever you want.
Speaker 6 (20:01):
And sure, honestly, I hope think I missed the fits
of the cut today by two strokes.
Speaker 1 (20:07):
I you know, there's one of the courses I like
to play. I hate the opening hole, but I love
like holes three through six. I should be able to
start on three, right, sir?
Speaker 7 (20:18):
Yeah, yeah, start on three and just count that score.
Speaker 1 (20:21):
And uh yeah, I mean we'll we'll just score average.
The first two I don't want to play them, so
that'll be good. Yeah, that'll save me probably strokes.
Speaker 7 (20:29):
It's pretty awesome.
Speaker 1 (20:30):
Okay, good, good, good, good, all right, have a go
win there, sir. Yeah, man, I got I push things
to the left sometimes and you do not want to
do that. And holes one and two you are you
are oh to to be It is not pretty. But yeah,
now I've just start on three. That'll be amazing, that'll
be perfect. ROZs, you guys should flex this NFL season.
(20:51):
Why should you have to start on the twenty five
or the thirty Once you start on the fifty, would
that be more fair? Halfway there, I just run it
out there. Who cares what the refs think? Yeah, the
whole thing was. The whole thing was not a good look.
As they'd say, is this a good look? Check this out.
So for those of you who are traveling to Mississippi,
(21:17):
traveling to Mississippi specifically out of Memphis, just a little
geography reminder here. You know, Memphis clearly has its has
its crime issues there, but as is the case, those
crime issues sometimes spill over into adjacent counties or because
it's Memphis and where it is physically located literally right
(21:40):
in that elbow of Arkansas, Mississippi, Tennessee. If you've never
been to Memphis, the whole thing sits right in that
Where you go across the river, you're in Arkansas, and
then you head south on the fifty five I fifty
five or whatever that is. You quickly get down to Mississippi,
which is good if you want to go gamble at
(22:01):
some of the casinos down there. But the problem is, oh,
the Memphis Airport basically sits right on the border there.
The problem is is that county and Mississippi has they
have they run into a lot of crime issues just
because you get the spillover from Memphis. So they have
actually swapped out the welcome to Mississippi sign. What does
(22:22):
the normal sign say? What is the what is this
the slogans or where they go with. Let me see here,
I just saw it'd be clear. Says welcome to Mississippi,
birthplace of America's music. Okay, all right, that's what the
normal sign says. That's not what you're gonna see headed
south in Mississippi from Memphis though, No, the uh the
(22:48):
sign has been replaced and now says welcome to Mississippi,
where the firing squad is legal. Think twice, that's crazy.
That's not like some private entity that did that. That
is the county. What is the name of the county there,
de Soto County, Yeah, de Soto County. That was that
(23:09):
was erected by the county and specifically the district attorney.
Just to remind folks, if you're gonna come down here
to screw around, you're gonna find out, and it may
be via firing squad.
Speaker 2 (23:21):
I think that, you know, being a non criminal, I
would imagine that would affect you more right now, even
if you're in a state with a death penalty for
some reason. If you're a crazy cycle person, you just
stab somebody like whatever, gas chant whatever. But when you're like, no,
we're gonna put you like tie you to a pole
and have like five guys shoot rifles at you. It
has like a different mental effect, I would imagine.
Speaker 1 (23:41):
I don't know you would. I mean, if it does good,
that's the intent, right, that's I mean.
Speaker 2 (23:46):
If I'm driving, If I'm driving and a cross over
in Mississippi, first off, I'm like, these roads are worse
than South Carolina? What is happening here?
Speaker 1 (23:53):
They are? Yeah, they really are.
Speaker 2 (23:55):
It's awful. But then if you see like that sign,
You're like, well, I'm gonna do you know, I'm paying myself?
Speaker 1 (24:01):
Yeah, probably not murder anybody here? Why don't we? Why
do we not murder?
Speaker 6 (24:04):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (24:05):
And or kidnap murder people here? Uh? Yeah? Yeah? And
then if I want to get some murdering out of
my system, I guess maybe you go back to Tennessee
or Arkansas, which is more What would be better murdering?
I don't know, but it ain't Mississippi, not in this
little trifecta of fun.
Speaker 2 (24:22):
It's like those signs you see, it's sort of uh,
you know, much lesser extent. But when you're driving into
Virginia in that you had to see that sign that says,
oh the photo would be air or whatever. You're like, what, yeah, airwolf,
you never had air on you put my hands in
ten and two though, I'm gonna yeah, man, I do
them five over one time. Oh yeah, yeah. They just
(24:43):
hover in front of you like that's of course at
the end of it, you know, I have I have
had this conversation and people assure me that it is real,
but I don't know how it's real. I think I
I think I was on Twitter asking one of our
Virginia lists and he swears it. I mean it's Virginia.
So they're very close to these you know, big military
(25:04):
installations and the Department of Defense, and they really well
are they flying above you in like an SR seventy
one or something. You can't even see it, but they're
up there. I wouldn't respect that guys going five over.
Speaker 1 (25:14):
Dude, wouldn't you? Dude? If you got if you got
rolled up by a B two bomber or something that.
Speaker 2 (25:18):
You would be amazing. Yeah, you'd be like, I'll.
Speaker 1 (25:21):
Take the ticket, all right, does Virginia actually you know
what I'm let me. Does anybody know the answer to this?
Actually know the answer to this? Is what I've determined. No,
whenever I've gotten on and I'm not trying to make
a big topic out of it, but people have told
me that yes, it does, or at the very least yes,
they used to. Uh let's see here. You they're not
(25:47):
the only ones who do that too. By the way,
I think Colorado has signs like that too, and we
used to make fun of when we were kids because
we're like, sure you do. I'm sure you do, but
maybe they do. Let's see here. Okay, here we go.
So Virginia used to, but does not actively use aircraft
(26:09):
to monitor and force speed limits. They should have to
take the signs down. Now, I will say this, you
do not want to get a speeding ticket, especially if
you're quite a bit above in Virginia, because it is
they will, they'll take a pound of flesh. Man. But yeah,
I think maybe they used to and now they don't
(26:30):
because the text better, is my understanding. But you know,
just assume that there's f fourteen above you, and you know,
drive nice, all right, six forty seven? Hang on. Look,
I think Virginia is trying to play it slick man.
This is on the aerial enforcement. So according to the
(26:52):
Virginia State Police, they do not do large scale aerial
enforcement due to it's just caught the cost of it. However,
the signs remain up because they reserve the right to
do it and have the legal jurisdiction to do so.
So I don't know, maybe they do a little, but
not like they used to or whatever that means. Here's
(27:15):
what you do. Let me solve this for you, because
then you can do the aerial stuff. Then it brings
the cost down. Instead of just straight up having all
the planes everywhere and doing all that stuff. What you
do is you in Virginia they have super speeders like
they're doing a lot of states. So if you're twenty
miles or more over the speed limit, like, things get
real bad, real quick. But instead of arresting people, which
(27:37):
they can arrest you for it, I think every now
and then, especially when there's a lot of traffic around,
somebody's doing that, you got to hit them with a
hell fire from your aircraft. And then the other drivers
will see this, and then you think anyone's speeding ross
If you just saw another motorist get blown away, are
you breaking the speed limit?
Speaker 2 (27:53):
Oh I'm sure not.
Speaker 1 (27:54):
You're not. No, And by the way, and I don't
mean like the explodey health fire, I mean that crazy
Ginsu one or whatever. Hang on, what was the name
of one? All right, we talked about this. So this
was a this is a hell fire a version of
a hellfire missile. So basically it's a standard hellfire missile.
However it's non explosive. Listen to what some sick bastard
(28:17):
in a room came up with. So in an effort
to allow the US military and CIA to do more
targeted assassinations, specifically like people in a vehicle, they developed
this missile where it slams down into the vehicle and
you're that you're in right, goes right through the roof
whatever seats into the vehicle, and then a bunch of
(28:37):
blades come out and spinning at high velocity and then
just it's called the flying Ginsu is the nickname or
the dinger bomb.
Speaker 2 (28:46):
It's like the slap chop of bombs.
Speaker 1 (28:49):
Yes. In fact, Vince is writing the missile wow as
it comes in. Uh just want to watch out for that.
Speaker 2 (28:56):
What happened to his face?
Speaker 1 (28:57):
Oh it's a hooker bit his face? Oh man, yeah,
that is actually what happened. Yeah, what happened He like
punched the hooker or something right or so way. Now,
to be fair, the reason he punched the hooker, according
to him, and the hooker for that matter, is they
got into some sort of dispute, probably over money, I
don't know. And uh so he stuck his tongue in
(29:18):
her mouth and she just clamped down on it and
wouldn't let go, and he was bleeding and whatnot. So
he said he had to punch her in the face
to make her stop trying.
Speaker 2 (29:27):
To Okay, now all this information about this dude is
flooding back into my brain. Didn't he run for office too?
Speaker 7 (29:35):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (29:35):
He did. I think he just did down in Texas
or something. I don't know what the results were. You
never had a hooker try to eat your tongue, but no, never.
Speaker 2 (29:46):
Wrong.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
Yeah, man, you gotta you gotta get Saucier hookers or something. No, anyway,
so he used the ninja bomb, the spinning gets you
bomb of death, and then uh people will shape up.
That would be my recommendation if I was running Virginia's
Enforcement division. All right, hold on, let me grab a call. Yes, Jake,
what's up? He was a hooker from Saigon, Florida, I think,
(30:10):
But I didn't off.
Speaker 5 (30:13):
But okay, yeah, I.
Speaker 1 (30:15):
Know, definitely know the reference.
Speaker 8 (30:17):
Yes, yes, yes, they definitely use helicopters in Virginia.
Speaker 6 (30:22):
I was going up to UH Williamsburg about six years
ago and there was a helicopter hovering at tree line
right after a bend.
Speaker 1 (30:34):
There would be Honestly, I don't that feels like that
should be illegal because if you around the corner, well yeah,
that's what I was just gonna say. Man, if if
you come around a corner at a high rate of
speed and there's an Apache just hovering there, I feel
like you're not distracting.
Speaker 6 (30:51):
Yeah it was no Apache, that's for sure.
Speaker 1 (30:53):
It was definitely eating, But any helicopter for that matter
hovering a tree line right the roadway, I'm like, I'm
I'm not paying attention to the road anymore.
Speaker 2 (31:03):
And the funny thing.
Speaker 9 (31:06):
And funny thing was on that drive and like fifteen
minutes later, it started snowing on us, and I was like, wow,
I mean and he's flying in the snow, essentially so crazy.
Speaker 1 (31:13):
Well, I would remind you, sir that with just one
rock as demon thanks for the call there, as demonstrated
by John Rambo in Rambo three, they're basically, I don't know,
ruining everything for everybody with this woke agenda, especially as
you get up near Washington, DC. Case in point, you
(31:34):
had some congressional testimony yesterday where the Fairfax County DA
this scumbag's name is Steve Descano, where basically he was
forced to admit he reduced sentence for an illegal immigrant
who also ended up raping a minor. So that's fun
fifteen year old, and you know why he would do that?
(31:57):
And then why just ahead of congressional hearings, somebody went
on to the website and essentially changed policy statements by
this guy. We're basically basically the policy statement was that
when it comes to sentencing people or charging people, we're
going to take their immigration status into account, which sounds
(32:19):
good at first you're like, yeah, okay, they're checking, but
what he means actually is in you know, how it
played out is he was far more sympathetic to people
who were in the country illegally, even when they committed
some pretty significant crimes. It's it's the suicidal empathy government version, okay.
(32:39):
And you know, thankfully you had people like Brandon Gill
and others who were not given this guy an easy hearing,
you say, and rightfully. So here's just a bit of it.
Speaker 10 (32:49):
I want to better understand how you weigh an illegal
aliens immigration status whenever you're making charging decisions. Do you
do you know who under Jose cort Tes Mendez is
Are you familiar with that case? Yes, sir, okay. This
is a Guatemalan illegal alien who was arrested in March
of twenty twenty four. He was initially charged with quote,
(33:13):
carnal knowledge of a thirteen to fourteen year old.
Speaker 1 (33:16):
Just for those of us who aren't lawyers, can.
Speaker 10 (33:18):
You describe, just very briefly, what does carnal knowledge of
a thirteen to fourteen year old mean in this context? Well, sir, generally,
the a charge like that would typically refer.
Speaker 2 (33:30):
To underage sex.
Speaker 10 (33:31):
Okay, so he raped in underage persons, an illegal alien
who raped in underage American Your office reduced those charges
to a misdemeanor charge of consensual sex with a child
fifteen years and older. You offered him a ninety day
suspended jail sentence.
Speaker 1 (33:47):
Is that correct?
Speaker 7 (33:50):
So based on the evidence that we had in the case.
Speaker 1 (33:52):
So it is correct. Right, And this goes round and round. Also,
Jim Jordan led into him where he was asked him
about why he changed that stuff on the web site,
and he said, because policy position actual policy positions are
not Those were campaign promises and the two are mutually exclusive,
which is a horrible answer because it basically says I'm
saying this on the campaign trail, but in actuality, I'm
(34:14):
doing this. So yeah, it was it was a busy
day up there, but the guy's absolutely like there was
no but he didn't feel bad about it at all.
And by the way, that guy, I know, you're gonna
be shocked, are you all sitting down? That guy then reoffended,
so almost immediately, and you know, there were several others.
(34:35):
You had the high profile murder up there where they
let the guy out that was in this this idiot's
county as well, who was that guy was also an
illegal immigrant, So man, I will say, they're they're committed,
they're all in. And then eventually you get to think,
you know the problem is is you go down this
pathway enough you turn into some of like did you
(34:57):
guys see the story out of the UK here the
other day with the with the guy who was stabbed
to death by the Sikh Okay, this story hold on,
let me let me call this story up. This will
be a perfect because this is the kind of stuff
where you're like this, you know eventually we're gonna get here.
So you know, in the UK, basically nobody can carry
(35:18):
a knife, although there is an exception for if you
carry a knife for religious reasons, and one of the
groups that does is Seeks. And so you had this situation.
You had all, right, here we go. Here's the story.
You had an eighteen year old university student who's uh,
(35:39):
you know, he's out and about. He's with the things
with one other guy. I don't know if they're bar
hopping or what they're doing over there, but you know
it's it's in the evening. Yeah, here we go. A
university student died after being repeatedly stabbed by a man
armed with a Sikh ceremonial sword. Finance student Henry Nowak, eighteen,
was on his way home from a night out when
(36:01):
he was allegedly attacked by a stranger identified his twenty
three year old Vikrum Digua with an eight inch Shastar blade.
I guess am I pronounce I don't know if I'm
pronouncing the name of that correctly, But that's the Sikh
ceremonial knife. It's curve knife that weren't on their waist.
You've probably seen him. Digua was caught on camera saying
(36:22):
I'm a bad man before the fatal attack. He also,
let's see here, he also made a comment to his father,
who showed up at the scene. His mother showed up
to the scene, his brother showed up to the scene.
But here's where this gets absolutely dystopic. So when police arrived,
they see this dude's They see this dude like on
(36:45):
the like in the distance, and what it happened was
is he he's essentially trying to escape. He climbed a fence,
but he left a trail of blood, not his own blood,
the blood he had all over his hands from stabbing
this dude allegedly. But when police showed up and they
actually got Digua after he had climbed the fence, they
(37:05):
asked him what happened, and they said the eighteen year
old was being racist to him. So what did police do?
They handcuffed the eighteen year old who was lying on
the ground based on this guy's word that the kid
had said something. He's not a kid he's an adult,
he's eighteen, had quote said something racist to him. They
(37:26):
arrested the person who was stabbed on the ground, bleeding out,
and he died laying there on the ground in handcuffs.
While police were trying to get more details from this
seek dude about well, what racist thing did he say?
And by the way, it doesn't look like he said
anything to him. It just looked like this dude was
(37:50):
out there, he was mad at the world or whatever,
and this guy is what he took it out. But
just think of that insanity. Police show up to this scene.
They have one victim who has a significant stab wounds.
He's bleeding everywhere. This is an eight inch knife that
went all the way in him, I think four times.
And their reaction, based on this guy's word that maybe
(38:11):
a racist thing was said was to was to handcuff
the actual victim and slow roll medical care. Because that's
an evil racist sitting there on the ground. That's the
level of insanity that you're dealing with. That's the story
over in the UK right now. Even if he did
say something racist, again, I understand it's essentially an executable
(38:36):
crime in England because they're also just woked up, or
however you wish to describe it. But this guy died,
and all somebody had to do to essentially try to
get away with it was just, oh well, he said
a naughty word. That's how you get there. That's how
you get there when you have DA's like this idiot
(38:57):
up in Fairfax County who was getting roasted yesterday by
Congress because in their mind, crap like this makes sense
even though it's horrific to me. Ross, had you heard
that story. That's a horrible story. Right. Some guy can
just show up stab you to death and then the
police won't really help you because they you said that
(39:18):
he said a naughty word. What are we doing here? People?
All right? Eight eight eight nine three four seven eight
seven four Another day, another absolute financial debacle in California,
compliments of Gavin Newsom. We'll get to uh, we'll get
to that and uh oh yeah. Whereas this this Pete
(39:41):
Bootages thing is funny, man. That's that's the thing. If
you're if you're ever getting coaching for your own authenticity,
you should probably not videotape the coaching sessions because it
looks ridiculous. But they did, and we'll share it with
you next here on the CaCO Day radio program, Welcome Back.
We'll grab call here in just a moment. What the
heck's going on at the Rocky Mount City Hall? So
(40:05):
police said they had to respond yesterday to a fistfight,
and why at the city hall. This wasn't just two
residentally two hoboes out in front. These are two of
the council members. According to witnesses, tensions say it started
from tensions about a discussion with developer and council member
(40:26):
Charles Roberson Robertson, at which point he got into it
with fellow council member Andre Knight, and then I don't
know who invited who, but they said why don't we
step into the hall, and they go out there and
they threw hands. Yeah, that's how you solve stuff. About
fifteen minutes after they had stepped out of the hall,
(40:47):
city workers quickly locked down the meeting room or residents
and other people were still insight. Yeah, because you got
a council meeting going on. One woman who spoke to
WRL said she was one of five residents at the
meeting and just feed away from the fight. They told
us to get down, shut down, and shut the doors
and lock up. So they went into full lockdown because
two of the city council members can't stop punching each other.
(41:11):
Couple that with all the financial stuff that's going on there.
Holy hell man, what an absolutely busted system. All right,
let me grab a call here. Oh speaking of Rocky Mount, Jamal,
what's going on?
Speaker 7 (41:22):
I'm troum Rocky Mount case. I was gonna talk about
the sheet thing. I'm trum Rocky Mount kse. I know
Andre Knight, and I believe if that's a Charles Robinson,
he seems to be an attorney. Is that a former attorney?
Charles Robinson? Light skinned dude, kind of heavy sit and
he ain't no joke, but he's the older gentleman. Yeah,
(41:43):
I know Andre Knight. Andre can sing andres the lead
of the NAACP in Rocky Mount too. She was the
one that was caught up. Yeah, he was the one
that was caught up in the two years about their
light bial fits and stuffy. I came down and investigated
that's all.
Speaker 1 (42:00):
And how is this guy still in office? Enough? We
can go fight other council.
Speaker 7 (42:04):
Members then, because he's he's he's Edgecombe County, his area
is mostly Edgecombe County, which is considered, and if you
go to Rocky Mount you got areas called the hell
his his area, his ward where he's at is mostly
like Week's Armstrong projects.
Speaker 1 (42:24):
Uh.
Speaker 7 (42:32):
It used to be the most historical black middle class
area before the activists came in and try and turned
it into him and everybody with people who in that
area went to Booker t Washington before integration and Rocky
Mount Senior. How I became integrated and they went over there.
(42:55):
But yet his area is it's like predominant black. But yeah,
Andre Knight, I know him. He used to work at
the Edgecombe County Tech where he used to help with
Scott Well we used to do Gene Dave and stuff.
So yeah, if if Robins, yeah, you take a lot
(43:16):
to make charl Robinson made.
Speaker 1 (43:18):
Well whatever it was the two through hands so which
is just crazy considered, it's two council members. All right,
what's the other thing you wanted to comment on? You
know what case?
Speaker 7 (43:28):
That thing about him stabbing him over that alleged word.
That's what they have wanted to hear in America for
years Because have I ever gotten into a fight over
the end word. It's a differency. You fight someone, then
you're pulling out a weapon. And to me personally, if
you call a white person the C word, a white
(43:48):
person should respond the same way. Because race's words is
race's words. And we have for so too long in
trying to fix And I'm so glad the Supreme Court.
And I'm not young the subject and just want to
I'm seeing it. I'm so glad the Supreme Court fix
that chord in the Bodings Right Acts that says, hey, listen,
you are not allowed to discrimination in the goodness to
say of discrimination in a good way. And we have
(44:12):
allowed discrimination in a good way for fart at certain
things and respond. But when we do the exact same thing,
we're not held responsible.
Speaker 5 (44:23):
And that's what they want hear.
Speaker 7 (44:24):
In America, they a lot of people believe that you
should be able to hit someone or even shoot them
if they say the N word, Like the guy shut
the builder. Okay, I do do some of the stuff.
You go out there going screaming the in word and
people in the streets. No, but however, he shouldn't be
punched in a mouth of shot put. And what happened
(44:45):
in England, Oh.
Speaker 1 (44:50):
Oh no, all right, I guess he's out. I don't
know what happened there. Okay, all right, Ross, why'd you
hang up Jamal so?
Speaker 3 (45:01):
So?
Speaker 2 (45:02):
Who won the fight in Rocky Mount?
Speaker 1 (45:04):
Well, that's the thing. It doesn't say, come on, yeah, no,
if you're gonna do this whole story, man, I want
to I want to know who got the dumb right, right.
Speaker 2 (45:11):
If you're the reporter, you gotta be like and then
so and so beat that you ever live in crap
out of so and so and call them out? Yeah,
I mean, maybe it wasn't like you know, maybe it
wasn't dominance. Maybe it was like so and so then
you know, got like a lucky shot in and knocked
out so and so. And by the way, was it
good fighting?
Speaker 3 (45:27):
You know?
Speaker 1 (45:27):
Sometimes you get the people, these dudes who slap and
then you think they're gonna fight, and you're like, oh
my goodness, I would never want.
Speaker 7 (45:34):
To be like that.
Speaker 2 (45:36):
They try to slap you, they do the slap thing
like this, you know, yeah, and then when they're slapping you,
they throw in their their their their foot on your leg.
Speaker 6 (45:43):
Ears.
Speaker 1 (45:43):
By the way, Ross looks like a cat with a
ball of yarn. So not sure that's a proper fighting.
Speaker 2 (45:47):
Slap your face and then they try to kick your
shin and they look stupid.
Speaker 1 (45:52):
What you want to do is you want to grab
a little bit of like, uh, the the handshock and
then throw it in their eyes. Yes, before you fight. Yes,
that's what you do, I peep. Some would say that's dirty,
but man, if the comache is on the line.
Speaker 2 (46:05):
That's literally got to know, dude, that's literally how I
won the Kuma Tek.
Speaker 1 (46:08):
Yeah, is it? I would admit that. No, I don't mind. Yeah,
I'll do it out a share to the faith, don't
even care. Yeah, there's no no no rules, man. This
is this is why it's a secret, you know, secret
about with two thousand years and that we don't talk
about no, not at all except I don't know, at
(46:28):
least once a week here on the show. But no
more than that, I think, which is uh, which is important?
All right? So I scanned the whole story here, and
it does not indicate who may have won the.
Speaker 2 (46:37):
Fight, because are you gonna vote for the guy that lost?
Speaker 1 (46:39):
You know, somebody get apparently apparently, because like what what
what Jamal was referencing there is he's referencing that these
big scandals that Rocky Mount has gone through, and yet
somehow this guy remains keeps getting elected. So yeah, maybe
maybe maybe in fact you do so you think that
if two council members fight, if you lose, you should
(47:01):
have to resign your.
Speaker 2 (47:02):
Seateah, pretty much.
Speaker 1 (47:03):
I think that's fair actually, you know, because it will
then dissuade council members from fighting unless it's really important.
Anny who All right, let me grab a couple of
calls on uh well, just general insanity, and then we
got some more audio for you, Casey. What's going on
this morning?
Speaker 6 (47:19):
Okay, hey morning. I just want to comment on something
that a previous caller it said. I agreed with a
lot of I said, I don't think maps in general
should be based on race things like that. The one
thing that I did it, you know, race concerned about
was the term I don't know if we could stand
(47:39):
online or on air or whatever, term cracker in historical context,
the term cracker.
Speaker 1 (47:46):
Are you a white guy?
Speaker 6 (47:47):
I am white?
Speaker 1 (47:48):
Okay, well I am white? Those are the rules, right, Okay?
Speaker 6 (47:51):
Fantastic. The term cracker historically came from a position of
power because it was a person who cracked a whip.
It had no demeaning contact to it. So for someone
to call me a cracker, yeah, they're probably not happy
with me, but I don't take it as ofsensibly as
someone who would call someone the N word. Now, Rosy
(48:11):
Ross made a comment about cracker barrel and a joke
about it, but that refers to soda crackers being shipped
in large barrels.
Speaker 1 (48:20):
Ross Studio was cracker barrel.
Speaker 11 (48:22):
That sounds very ross, Yeah, but I just wanted to
put that in context because I think sometimes we make
those two comparisons because it happened during the same time period,
but they have very very different.
Speaker 1 (48:33):
Here's the thing when when people are utilizing it in
a derogatory fashion. I understand the history of it, but
I have a very simple rule and and I don't know,
maybe maybe you feel is a good idea. How about
we don't punch or stab and murder as over in
the UK. How about if somebody says a word to
us we don't like, we don't then physically retaliate.
Speaker 6 (48:56):
Well, stop making sense, stop it all right.
Speaker 1 (48:58):
I want to make sure. I want to make sure
we're on that boat. So that's kind of where my
head's at, because then it spends wildly out of control.
All right, thanks for the call that piece. You appreciate it.
Speaker 2 (49:07):
That's a pretty radical position you have there, it is.
Speaker 1 (49:10):
Yeah, probably gonna get fired for that, so uh all right. Anyway,
so this guy questions that it's from the cracker barrel,
but I mean, I believe our research show that is.
In fact.
Speaker 2 (49:20):
I don't know what AI tool he's using to get
information for the show, but you need to change it.
Speaker 1 (49:25):
Yeah, he's a good point. That's an AI or something. Gross. Robert,
what's up? Hey, hey?
Speaker 9 (49:33):
And on that Rocking Out the story, yeah, uh yeah.
I got home last night and watched the telling about it,
and she said there was video up on a for
a while. There's a crime fighting page on Rocking Out
on my on Facebook, and they had a video for
a while. He said that Charles and Allbrea were going
at it.
Speaker 1 (49:52):
Who was winning?
Speaker 9 (49:55):
Once she told me, I like Charlo did so Aubrea
was just a slap in though it was just a slap.
Speaker 1 (50:00):
I's a slapper, man. That's the worst you want to
talk about getting your man car revoked. Never gets yourself
video to a fight slapping?
Speaker 9 (50:07):
Yeah, yeah, said At one point Charlie got ahold of him,
and it was about to throw him over the rail
and not know how I got out of it. But
oh lord, they didn't throw him over.
Speaker 1 (50:16):
Okay. Did anybody yell world Star at any point?
Speaker 7 (50:20):
Not that I know.
Speaker 1 (50:21):
Oh that's a time I got home.
Speaker 9 (50:23):
The video had been taken down, so I didn't get
cancers see it.
Speaker 1 (50:25):
Oh well, now I'm gonna now I'm gonna spend the
rest of my day looking for the video, sir. So
thanks for the tip of the somebody got it, okay,
all right, look, I'm sure it'll populate on Twitter. It
probably already is. I'll I'll give it a look. See,
thanks for the call there, all right. Cough. So it
looks like Charles Win.
Speaker 2 (50:44):
That's the haunt of virus.
Speaker 1 (50:46):
I don't have the haunt to stop it. I just
I coughed for a moment. Okay, let me take a
ship of my Patriots fans tears upset over the fact
that they have to play an actual tough schedule this year.
Speaker 2 (50:57):
All right, that's that's a good point. That's a good
point on the on their schedule. But also I feel
in danger. I don't feel safe, and we should call
the show, just call it.
Speaker 1 (51:04):
We're not we're not calling the show.
Speaker 2 (51:06):
So I'll call Pete, tell them there's no interview today,
and well we'll just leave it all week.
Speaker 1 (51:09):
Do we have to talk to Pete? Because down and down,
this is literally what is being said by the NAACP's
head in Charlotte over the marrioral appointment.
Speaker 4 (51:18):
Why would we replace the black outgoing mayor with a
white person? That's simple, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (51:24):
Yeah, it's that simple. That's simply that racist ted is
soup again. I I know it's an old I know
it's an old trick, but turn that around right, reverse,
reverse what's going on there? Right? So let's say that,
let's say the mayor of Raleigh, Janet Cowell, retired because
she's she's white, all right, And then I don't know
(51:45):
what the process is and Raleigh, I'm assuming the counsel
of points. But but literally, I'm sitting here on the
radio going, well, all right, that was a white mare,
so they better they better replace it with a white
mare or else. Uh I get I'd be can't I
would be that would be it No more radio for me,
because that's an insane position. Now if you want to
(52:10):
replace him with another left wing lunatic I'm sure you're
gonna get what you want because that's just what the
council is. So but demanding, demanding that they stick with
it from a racial component, that's bad.
Speaker 2 (52:23):
Man.
Speaker 1 (52:24):
Hold on now, people are asking me. See here's the thing.
I'm not sitting here ranking naughty words again. My position is,
just if somebody says something to you don't like, you
don't get to murder them. Words are not violence. Okay,
with that whole that whole line of thinking which has
(52:46):
been indoctrinated Boston Pott. I think I thought at least
you take Monday off for your break. Monday is not
my birthday? What is wrong with you people? What is
this weird fascination where we just do this birthday thing
nine times a year. It's none of the days you suggested.
So anyway, back to my radical position, don't you don't
(53:07):
get to murder people over words?
Speaker 6 (53:09):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (53:09):
But can you burn a city down? Though?
Speaker 1 (53:11):
Uh no, No, I'm gonna go out even further on
a limb. We're not burning cities down. But if we
are going to burn a city down, I'm just happy
to know that Roy Cooper will have he and his
whole family evacuated and then not and do it secretly
so nobody realizes that they literally fled the governor's mansion.
Have you guys seen the reporting from North State Journal?
(53:32):
I think this is our friend ap dillonh wrote this article.
You know what, I just realized. I didn't get to
it yesterday. I was going to talk about it yesterday
and then we got sidetracked with the weirdness. So hang on,
this story is crazy. Thank you computer. Computer's mad at me. Okay, sorry,
I have to go pull my get my prep packet
(53:52):
from me.
Speaker 2 (53:53):
Yeah, what's crazy about that story, is right? They try
to act like when all that was happeningly, everything's fine,
this is justified. It's just a nice, peaceful rally like.
But at the same time, this is happening to Roy
Cooper and he's not being honest about it, because the
man can't be honest about anything. No, not at all.
Speaker 1 (54:06):
They were. They burned my damn CBS down. They burned
my damn CBS down, and it never came back there
on Fayetelee Street because when I lived downtown, that was
the cli that was the easiest one to go to,
and so I just kind of capt it. And then
they burned it down. And you know, so while Roy
Cooper is getting evacuated here, let me, let me, let
me grab this whole thing up here, just give you
(54:27):
a quick little rundown. We'll tweet out the story. Uh
was it it was in yesterday's prep packet?
Speaker 3 (54:37):
Right?
Speaker 1 (54:40):
Or was it two days ago? My brain this week
man's just cooked. All right, Well, I'll tell you I'm
gonna find I'll find this story we'll do in the
next segment because also I'm probably gonna ask Pete about
it as well. So all right, so let's let's do this.
Let's grab raced Agent from the or not race stage.
Excuse me because mister Ray doesn't work Fridays because he's
just so spell Who is it today, mister Jeff Mars?
Speaker 8 (55:02):
Jeff Marin?
Speaker 1 (55:03):
How you doing? Jeff? Now, he just knew I was
gonna give him crap over the Cowboys soft schedule and
then he doesn't show. Yeah, okay, he didn't want to
didn't want to take the Uh that's okay. Yeah, save
the smoke for Monday.
Speaker 2 (55:18):
Yeah, there you go.
Speaker 1 (55:19):
Yeah, so, uh I he kind of he left you
with a pretty easy gig. Although I'm not liking where
we're trending temperature wise by Sunday, but for the most
part pretty nice. What's up.
Speaker 8 (55:30):
Yeah, that's gonna be the big change. The temperatures were
going from forties this morning to a hid the low
nineties by the time we went into Sunday afternoon. A
big ritual high pressure will build in and we'll have
wins out of the southwest during the weekend, and that's
going to boost our temperatures in the meantime. Clear and
cool this morning, a Sunday afternoon, wins out of the
northwest today and a high seventy seven and light winds
overnight with the clear sky as the low falls into
(55:50):
the mid fifties. It's gonna be a beautiful weekend. Warmer
temperatures eighty six with sunshine tomorrow, just a few clouds
Saturday night with a low dropping into the low sixties,
and then for Sunday and Monday, sun of each afternoon
highs we'll hit the low nineties.
Speaker 1 (56:02):
All right, Jeff, we'll chat again here in the next hour. Okay,
you got all right, Jeff, mar they're from the Weather Channel,
all right, this one to make sure I think I
found it. Yes, I have found the story. Entitled former
law enforcement reveal Cooper evacuated during May twenty rioting. We'll
give you the chain of events here, and it's all theater, man,
(56:25):
it's all theater, and it's all next hang on, some
chemical spray and other stuff that was it was. It
was a riot for all practical purposes, but it was
one where they didn't send the National Guard in even
though it went on for days and days. And the
perception is while this is all going on, the Governor
Roy Cooper at the time, is just sitting there in
(56:46):
the Governor's mansion. He's monitoring the situation, he's coordinating with
local officials, but he's toughing it out like everybody else
was forced to do who lived or worked in downtown Raleigh.
But that's not true. And now we have reporting that
shows just how theater this whole thing was. So according
to the reporting by the North State Journal here talking
(57:07):
with a former law enforcement what actually happened is that
sometimes sometime between six and eight pm on May thirty one,
Cooper and his entire family were evacuated from the mansion,
but not in a public way. In fact, it was
done through a like a service portico, so that they
couldn't see. They were loading them up in a vehicle,
he and his family, and then from there they took
(57:29):
him to the Emergency Management operations, which is essentially the bunker.
It's where he saw the press conferences during COVID, but
it is off a Blue Ridge Road, so it's all
the way out there, you know, past hospitals, like you're
going to Lenovo Center. You know, you've probably driven by
it up there if you've taken Blue Ridge from where
the hospital and the medical stuff is to get over
(57:51):
to the you know, the way to have anue extension,
and that's where he hunkered down. But again nobody was
told this. And then this is where it gets even crazier.
So it was actually the next day when all of
this continued. Everyone showed up again, right, you know, we're
(58:12):
gonna do this again, and police are on edge. He
came back to do the photo op, you know, the
one where he walks out. He's got the mask hanging
halfway off of his ear, he's walking with the press.
All of that was super coordinated after having been evacuated.
So again it's just the dishonesty of all of it.
(58:34):
And because remember if he felt it was so dangerous
that he and his family needed to leave the decision
not to bring in National Guard or something else to
try to quell what was going on. My buddy was
sitting inside of his store in downtown Raleigh up all night,
taking shifts with a shotgun in his lap, waiting for
(58:57):
these animals to kick through his door and steal everything
he'd built. And he had interactions with police where they
were just like, man, there's not much we can do.
I'm not knocking on the Raleigh PD. But it was
clear that they were handcuffed by leadership here or they
were just overwhelmed. And he's sitting there. His neighbor runs
(59:18):
a barbecue joint. She's sitting there and they're just trying
to figure out how to make sure that their livelihood
isn't destroyed. And police are just like, there's not much
we can do right now. We're just we've got all
this crap going on. And Roy Cooper couldn't be bothered
to bring in some sort of reinforcement in the form
of National Guard or whatever, because again, he had a
photo op to do the next day, marching in solidarity. Well,
(59:42):
you're all sitting on lockdown watching everything in the downtown
area get lit on fire. Just again, is there anything
that sticks to this guy, Roy Cooper on paper? Is
just he should be unelectable. That's what's so crazy here
because none of it's authentic, Which is crazy because I
(01:00:06):
remember when back when he was still Attorney General, even
though politically I didn't like what he'd do, I thought
there was an air of authenticity, and I don't know,
maybe you just have to sell your soul to move
on to the next level, in this case the governor
and then you know, perhaps even the Senate. But yeah,
what an aste, What an absolute scumbag update there. People
(01:00:32):
can't leave their apartments. They're having to watch all this
going on. Others are watching their businesses destroyed, and he's
hanging out in a bunker. Man, Oh, why am I
not surprised? Hey, one other update before we chat with
mister Pete Calender. We'll get to that to NAACP stuff.
I'm gonna do that with Pete. Maybe we'll talk a
little about this governor thing too, or former governor Cooper thing.
(01:00:56):
So I was doing a little more research and I
thought this was I thought this was very inch interesting.
So it's not been proven, but you know, the theory
out there is that this haunt a virus kicked off
because one of the people on the cruise was a birdwatcher,
a seventy year old birdwatcher who was really, really, really
super excited because he wanted to he wanted to see
(01:01:19):
a very rare bird. It's a Darwin something or other,
it doesn't matter what it is. And uh, they geographically
you really got to go to the tip of South America.
So you go to this town this yusuea Uswara, I'm
mispronouncing it, but which is a really cool place. And
when I went to Patagonia, it was kind of the
kickoff point. And Patagonia is just insanely beautiful. But they
(01:01:43):
have this this this landfill there and that's allegedly where
this guy went to go look at it. Here's the thing,
so I was reading a couple of articles. This landfill
is notorious, like to the point where it's it's caused
water shoes there. The locals don't go over there. They
(01:02:03):
have a nickname for it, which is Poso de la
perd which ross. Do you know what that translates to
tell me, if this is the place you want to go,
pit of Doom, Pit of Doom.
Speaker 2 (01:02:16):
Yeah, I'm gonna avoid that.
Speaker 1 (01:02:18):
I got you take I'm sorry, bro, I got you
tickets to the Pit of Doom for the weekend. I
thought you and the fam could go to the Pittadum.
Speaker 3 (01:02:25):
I go.
Speaker 2 (01:02:25):
I appreciate my legs just blew out both both my
acls is. But the pittad maybe I can make it.
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:02:33):
I think if you're in there, man, it's you're You're cooked.
And it's due to an infestation of the landfill of
what are called pigmy rice rats, which are known carriers
of this particular Hanta virus. Apparently it's just overwhelmed with
these rats. And this dude' is like, I'm gonna go
there and watch for birds.
Speaker 2 (01:02:49):
These birdwatchers are nuts. You're on a cruise that probably
costs you a fortune. You have the beaches.
Speaker 1 (01:02:53):
Those are very expensive crises because you're going you go
to Antarctica's part of that cruise, which is really.
Speaker 2 (01:02:58):
Expensive, right, so it's not a cheap thing. You've for that.
You have the beautiful b all the and you decide,
you know, I'm going to leave the cruise ship and
everything around this and go to the pit of doom,
so I can take a picture of a pigeon or whatever.
Speaker 1 (01:03:08):
Purty much larger, not a pigeon, but yeah, okay, yeah,
it's a very rare pigeon though. Good stuff to chat
about with her buddy, mister Pete Callender. Middays, WBT can
check it out via the iHeartRadio app. How you doing
this morning, sir?
Speaker 12 (01:03:22):
I'm doing okay. How are you?
Speaker 1 (01:03:24):
I'm pretty good. I'm just happy to learn that our
governor was not in as much peril as I thought
he was at the time, going back to the twenty
twenty riots through downtown Raleigh, isn't Doesn't that make you
feel a little warm and fuzzy that he was able
to secretly evact and not tell anyone?
Speaker 12 (01:03:39):
Yeah, except, I mean it does kind of lose some
of its comforting effect when we find out five years later,
you know, just that part of it. So, you know,
kudos and props to ap Dylan over at North State
Journal for finally getting some people to confirm anonymously, but
(01:04:02):
you know, corroborated by multiple law enforcement officials that were
on site at the time that confirmed that when he
wasn't marching with the rioters, he was fleeing from them.
Speaker 1 (01:04:14):
So, but the order of operation is important here, mister Pete,
because first he fled from him right through a porticos. Well, No,
the post was on the first, right, No, he posted
on the first.
Speaker 3 (01:04:27):
No.
Speaker 12 (01:04:27):
No, he had multiple posts on social media over those.
So we're talking about May thirtieth, May thirty first, and
June first, right, so three days and the first day
he posts the the you know, we stand with all
of you. This is terrible. And then he says, you know,
property is not as important as people, which was a
ligne that the left was using during the fiery but
(01:04:50):
mostly peaceful riots during the Black Lives Matter movement, And
so he posts that up. I think it was on
the thirtieth, and then you get your first night of riots, which,
by the way, followed May twenty ninth. You remember what
happened in Washington, d C. On May twenty ninth. It
(01:05:10):
was when they surrounded the.
Speaker 1 (01:05:11):
White House, and right, and then the whole church incident
and all that, right.
Speaker 12 (01:05:17):
Right, and so Donald Trump had to be secreted away
down to the bunker at the underneath the White House.
And do you remember the reaction from the media and Democrat.
Speaker 1 (01:05:29):
Yes, yeah, mccoward and all the rest of this.
Speaker 12 (01:05:32):
Yes, right for going to the bunker in the White House.
Speaker 1 (01:05:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 12 (01:05:37):
And then the next night you've got or the next day,
you've got Cooper, you know, praising the protesters who were
in open violation of his own executive orders not to
assemble like this, not to stand sick more than or
closer than six feet apart, right, not to be maskless.
Speaker 1 (01:05:55):
Uh.
Speaker 12 (01:05:56):
And so he praises them. And then they surround the
gunor's mansion. They're throwing water bottles, which were probably frozen
because that's a that's a favorite tactic of the rioters.
Speaker 1 (01:06:07):
Uh.
Speaker 12 (01:06:07):
They were throwing bricks. You had law enforcement say that
they were shots fired at some of the at some
of the positions that the law enforcement had taken around
the governor's mansion.
Speaker 7 (01:06:20):
Uh.
Speaker 12 (01:06:20):
And then they they then, yes, extract the governor and
his family from the mansion, Uh, send him over to
the EMOCH, the Emergency Management Operations Center, and then a
couple of the officers come back to the riot scene
in order to help local police, uh, you know, prevent
any incursion into the governor's mansion. And then of course
(01:06:43):
he comes out the next day, he does another one
of his pandemic updates, he posts another thing on social media,
and then he goes out for the stroll. I believe
that was on June first.
Speaker 1 (01:06:53):
You were saying post, I was saying posed. I'm sorry
you were saying posted. I meant posed.
Speaker 6 (01:06:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:06:58):
No, it's the fact that he came back two days
after initial encouragement for the photo op, right, I mean,
that's that's the true theater of all of this. Meanwhile,
my buddy owns a shop down town. Do you know
what he's doing during all of this, Well, he's been well, no,
(01:07:18):
because he had watched by the way, that was my
CVS they burned down. That's where I used to get
my prescriptions filled. So I took it personally. But but yeah,
and then they never Yeah. And then so he's got
a he's got a store just like two blocks from there.
So he and his neighbor, who also has a restaurant,
they are on shifts, sitting inside of their businesses with
(01:07:43):
you know, like a like a folding chair holding a
shotgun all night night. Yeah, that's how they got to
spend their.
Speaker 7 (01:07:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:07:52):
Yeah, they were sitting in there with just sitting there
with a shotgun on his lap just waiting for him
to come through the door and steal everything. Uh. He
he had built in his business, so that's how they
got to spend their days. Meanwhile, he's been evact only
coming back so he could do a stroll with a
mask half hanging off of his face. Is how is
on paper Roy Cooper a viable candidate due to all
(01:08:16):
of these stories to show just how inauthentic and calculating
this guy is, which ironically, and I don't know, you
tell me. I used to have a better opinion of
Roy Cooper when he was Attorney general, even though he
was partisan. He felt like he gave a crap a
little bit. And I don't know if you got to
sell your soul to get the apparatus it's necessary to
(01:08:40):
propel you to the governor's office and maybe a Senate seat.
But it's just everything is so distasteful, Pete.
Speaker 7 (01:08:47):
I don't know.
Speaker 12 (01:08:48):
I have viewed him as inauthentic, to put it mildly,
for many years, I think probably before he even ran
for governor. He just he had this you know, awe shucks,
I'm just an old country lawyer kind of affect. And
some people just lap that up but also I think
(01:09:10):
a major part of it is he's a Democrat, and
you know when when media goes to interview him. I mean,
we saw it during the pandemic, during all of those
press conferences, right, the sort of kid glove softball type
of treatment that he gets from media because he's on
their team. They're on his team, they like him, they
(01:09:33):
like what he's doing, they're glad he's in charge and
not those dastardly Republicans and such who would just obviously
kill all sorts of people with their pandemic response. So,
you know, that's the only thing I can chalk it
up to. Look, there have been critical pieces of him
written over the years, but you know, none of it
really sticks because that's you know, that's media. And that's
(01:09:56):
why I say, you know, elections are what media make them.
Media pretends that, oh, there's this issue that's out there, right,
and that they play no role in elevating or amplifying
that issue. And they do like they pretend to be
outside the arena, not participating in the political fights, but
(01:10:21):
they are. They're like they're in the arena and they're
like tossing weapons to their preferred candidate. You know, they
may not. They may not themselves be you know, taking swings,
but they are assisting and the stories that they choose
to cover. And I've said this for years as well,
that the most impactful subjectivity, not objectivity among media folks
(01:10:46):
are what stories they don't cover, right? Or do they
just do a story and then move on?
Speaker 4 (01:10:52):
Right?
Speaker 12 (01:10:52):
Do they do one story and that's it, rather than
dig dig, dig dig, make it a scandal and then
play defend or disavow. Sticking microphones in every republic and
elected official states asking them to comment on some scandal
of another Republican at like some other level of office,
like a federal official versus a local official. But you're
gonna ask the locals about the federal guy. And they
(01:11:13):
don't play that game with Democrats, they don't demand they
play that same game defend or disavow. There are a
whole bunch of these sort of tactics, if they're even
conscious tactics. But I think part of it is that
they don't view themselves as holding this powerful person accountable.
It's these other people because we disagree with what they're
(01:11:33):
trying to do. You know, it's a it's a friend
enemy mindset.
Speaker 1 (01:11:38):
Do you, well, they played cleanup here. So because the
takeaway should be this, the takeaway should be he thought,
and his handlers for that matter, right, which are state troopers.
Although did he have his own security detail too, which
sometimes the governors can do. I don't know, but I
do not know. Yeah, becausemination there. But the point is
(01:12:00):
all of the people who are security minded realized he's
got to get out of here. This is not good.
I mean, this could go sideways in a minute. And
even presented with that information, he then expressly rejected calling
in additional resources in conjunction with the mayor of Raleigh
and the police chief at the time, who I you know,
(01:12:23):
we're having that discussion. He decided it wasn't dangerous enough
for that. But it was so dangerous he had to
get out. And then what did the media do in
the follow up? It actually was far worse because, as
you pointed out, and everybody pointed out, they're sitting there
and all of a sudden, this thing that we're not
supposed to do by getting in contact with each other,
he is not only happening being allowed to happen, but
(01:12:45):
he's actively participating in these marches. And then I had
to listen to and you had to listen to days
of reporting where quasi experts would come out, including what's
why am I forgetting health check?
Speaker 2 (01:13:00):
Name?
Speaker 1 (01:13:00):
Who was the went up to the Biden administration with
Mandy Cohen, Mandy Cohen where these people were come out
and with a straight face, go, it's different in a
situation like this. It's right, it's not as communient with
the U. And then they actively they reported that it
was different based on assertions that didn't pass the smell tests.
(01:13:24):
From the moment that they were stated.
Speaker 12 (01:13:26):
There's a word for this. It's called gafflighting.
Speaker 3 (01:13:29):
You know.
Speaker 12 (01:13:29):
They they come out and they tell you that you're
you're not seeing or hearing the thing that you are
seeing or hearing, and if you think you are, that
means you're crazy. Right, yeah. They they literally made the
argument during nationwide the BLM stuff, they were saying that
social or racial justice is just as big or worse
(01:13:50):
of a writ to health. Yes, right, then the pandemic,
which is just absurd. We called it absurd at the time,
but these are the things that they they were just
left with to have to say because there's no other
logical explanation for it. And what you just what you
just mentioned is really the key of this story, because
(01:14:11):
I've had left this coming at me on the social
media saying, oh, what did you expect him to sit
around and you know, be at risk and be helted
with bricks? Why do you want the governor to get
injured and all this?
Speaker 2 (01:14:22):
Like, no, I did not.
Speaker 12 (01:14:23):
However, the key here is and this what ap Dylan
wrote in her story as well about the National Guard deployment.
There were National Guard like what North Hills or something
right outside, and he refused to deploy them. So like,
if you are worried enough about being ransacked at the
governor's mansion with all of that police protection, what do
(01:14:46):
you think all of the homeowners? What the business owners
in downtown? You got Tim Moore shooting video of you know,
looting and rioting in downtown Raleigh. It's like, what are
we doing here? So you get to be ev act,
you get the protection, but you don't think that the
citizens deserve the protection. And then of course they hide
(01:15:08):
this fact that he was evacuated. They bury it. They
they won't tell anybody that he was taken out, his
family was evac And five years later it falls to
some anonymous former law enforcement who were there to say, yeah,
this actually did happen, So like, why would you hide
that information for so long unless they knew that it
(01:15:31):
was politically damaging. And that is one thing that Roy
Cooper has done his entire career, which is if he
has to harm citizens' voters in order to advance his
own political.
Speaker 7 (01:15:42):
Prospects, he will do so.
Speaker 12 (01:15:44):
And he did it with HB two, where he whipped
up boycotters against his own constituents right as attorney general.
Speaker 1 (01:15:51):
He got companies to boycott us, and then he told
Democrats him, he went to California to reqrite him to
do it right.
Speaker 12 (01:15:59):
And then he hold his own fellow Democrats in the legislature,
don't you dare work on any kind of HB two
revisions or you know, to change it or to scrap
it or whatever. He wanted the issue for his campaign
against Pat McCrory. And it worked, I mean, and that's
the thing. It works because people don't connect these dots,
(01:16:20):
and people are not informed. They're not like people who
are even people who watched the news cycle regularly. You
get like a story about you know, Roy Cooper making
some phone calls and then that's it. There's never like
they don't give that story legs. You know, they don't
hammer away, they don't ask him further questions. At every
single one of his press conferences.
Speaker 1 (01:16:42):
They just let it go.
Speaker 12 (01:16:43):
They take the statement from the press shop and they
just let it go, and then it just gets buried
in years of news.
Speaker 1 (01:16:50):
It's like that when the remember when you tried to
pull the slush fun thing. That was another one of
those where it's like, nah, everything's fine, and then all
of a sudden he didn't. He no longer had control
of them money, And I'm like, well, if everything's fine,
what the hell's going on? Why would you get away
from that? I got to pivot something else, though. I
want you to Can you gauge? I want you to
gauge the race? How racisty this statement is?
Speaker 6 (01:17:11):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (01:17:12):
The mayor of Raleigh is a white woman named Janet Cowell,
and should she retire, I demand that they only only
appoint another white person to be the mayor of Raleigh.
Would that be Would that be racist? If that were
to come to pass, that'd be pretty racist?
Speaker 3 (01:17:28):
Right?
Speaker 1 (01:17:29):
Explain so that, yeah, definitely explain to me how I'm
listening to this from the head of the NAACP of Charlotte.
Speaker 4 (01:17:35):
How will we replaced the black outgoing mayor with a
white person? That's simple.
Speaker 3 (01:17:40):
NAACP Charlotte Mecklenburg Chapter President Corin mac refusing to walk
back her comments. In this Facebook post from Monday, Mac
wrote that it is quote seriously disturbing for white folks
to be lobbying to be Charlotte's inter a mayor. City
council is currently searching for someone to serve out the
remainder of I Lews's term, who's set to resign at
the end of June.
Speaker 1 (01:18:02):
All right, all right, she said some other stuff too.
I have a question, how is this woman even allowed
to be part of any conversation when she's willing to
utter something like that, because.
Speaker 12 (01:18:15):
It's different when Democrats do it.
Speaker 1 (01:18:17):
Oh okay, all right, I keep that's the standard.
Speaker 12 (01:18:20):
Sorry, yeah, the standard is the double standard. So yes,
you can you can say somebody should only be appointed
because of their race. And here's the thing. I broke
down these numbers, like if if they actually if the
ENDAACP is serious about this kind of a standard, right
that for some reason, like she's black and she's a woman,
but they're going to replace her with someone who has
(01:18:41):
to be black and a woman. Then okay, so you're
playing this sort of proportional skin color gender thing. Okay, well,
let's break down the numbers. Actually, Blacks make up like
thirty something percent of the population, but they have like
sixty seven percent of the representation. Whites make up forty
percent of the population and have like sixteen percent of
the representation and on city council. So it seems to
(01:19:02):
me like we have an overrepresentation of African Americans on
the Charlotte City government.
Speaker 1 (01:19:08):
Oh oh no, all right, some people got to lose
their job.
Speaker 12 (01:19:13):
Yeah, I mean we're gonna have to get yeah, like
kick them out or something and only elect you know,
white people for white people, black people for black people.
I guess that's because that's what mlk's that was his
dream was, as I understand I remember that.
Speaker 1 (01:19:25):
Yeah, well, we'll have to leave it there. I'm very
curious how it goes because the likelihood the very least
they'll get another moon bat in there, so they'll be
happy with that. But that's going to happen. But all right,
well we'll check in on that in sanity next week.
I appreciate it, Pete, have a good one.
Speaker 6 (01:19:40):
Sounds good.
Speaker 2 (01:19:41):
Thanks brother, all right, and we.
Speaker 1 (01:19:43):
Will be right back. Hang on cruising along here on
our Friday. Glad to have you along. CaCO Day Radio program. Ross. Congratulations,
Leo's tell your truck trap cads something. All right? All right?
Ready you able to get potatos? Oh yeah, great, it's good.
Although I will say this, it appears the trot the
(01:20:06):
cargo part of the trucks on fire.
Speaker 2 (01:20:07):
So actually you got baked potatoes. Oh okay, French fries
ready to go. There's I heard fires. That's bad, but
French fries good.
Speaker 1 (01:20:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:20:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:20:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:20:17):
The meme and that girl with the faces where at
first she's like aunt and then.
Speaker 1 (01:20:20):
Oh yeah there's distinc face and then okay maybe yeah yeah,
because yet you were all you're probably sick of potatoes
after your potato diet, but it properly cooked. There you go.
Let's say, everyone's okay other than the potatoes, so which
are now better. Arguably, so there's that. Hey, this is
kind of a crazy story. I just saw this, so
(01:20:42):
there is a see this is the thing. And and look,
I appreciate when you guys send links to stuff or
or you tag us on Twitter I do. It's funny though,
because on Twitter, half the time people tag us on
it it's some account that I've blocked, so so just
don't take it personally. If I don't, then you your story.
And that's because there are so many there are so
(01:21:06):
many news sites out there, trying to gauge the veracity
is not always easy, and this is a prime example
of why. So there was a news outletok called The
South Florida Standard. I'm familiar with this and that I've
seen people share links. I don't know if you've ever
done any stories from it, but yeah, so they would
(01:21:28):
you know, they had a bunch of a lot. They
turn a lot of updated local news stories, politics, sports, tourism,
kicker stories, you name it. Well, they just shut it down.
And here's why. Even though it appeared from the outside
to be a fully staffed journalism you know, journalistic endeavor
(01:21:49):
featuring work by local journalists, they had names, they had
an editor listed. Let's see, Sofia Delgado was identified as
editor in chief. They had a whole by pictures, the
whole thing. Guess what ross how many people, if you
had to guess, actually worked at this fully staffed newsroom
(01:22:11):
known as the South Florida staff.
Speaker 2 (01:22:14):
I'm gonna go twenty Bob, that would be a lot.
It's actually less than that.
Speaker 1 (01:22:17):
Yeah, all right, fifteen Bob, it's gonna be less than that.
Speaker 2 (01:22:21):
Yeah, yeah, all right, I'm gonna super low.
Speaker 1 (01:22:23):
Five bob, that would be super low, and you know,
staying with modern journalistic the trend. But no, it's the
one Bob. One. See, that's a pretty good number, but
that number is lower. Yeah, the answer was zero. The
entire thing was AI. I'm gonna repeat that, the entire thing,
(01:22:44):
and that includes that includes what was because what was
happening is the AI was literally prompted to then monitor
all the other local reporting you know sites there in
South Florida, so Miami Herald, the local TV stations, everything,
and then the AI would just steal that content, rewrite it,
(01:23:07):
add their own fake reporter bios.
Speaker 6 (01:23:10):
And you know, to it.
Speaker 1 (01:23:12):
You know, here's the uh, here's the uh, here's the
person who wrote it, here's a little photo of them,
and then publish it. Not a single person technically worked
at this endeavor. It was all AI doing it and
they just figured this out. So that's why that's why
now it doesn't mean necessarily the information's wrong, right if
(01:23:32):
they're scraping it from other local news outlets there and
then just you know, repackaging, you're you know, you're likely
getting a lot of accurate information. But there was no
there was no human factor there. There was nobody to
evaluate it. And they people started noticing like real problems
within the stories because AI s AI and sometimes it
gets stuff wrong. Yeah, So a reporter for the Florida
(01:23:58):
Tribune by the name of Kate Payne, who is a
real person by the way, noticed one they noticed that
there were there were elements there that kind of looked
like they stole it from them. So that was her
initial investigation, like are they just stealing our content or
repackaging it? But the rabbit hole went further, and reporter
(01:24:20):
Kate Payne said that eventually they had to figure out,
you know, they started trying to verify journalists. That was
the other thing too. You know, journalism, especially you know,
from a regional perspective, is kind of it's kind of
a small club. So like, chances are somebody should know
(01:24:41):
one of these people, or at the very least know
somebody who knows them, And so she started asking around
realized nobody knew any of these people. Nobody had ever
seen any of them at like city council meetings or
at you know, you know, press conferences by the governor. Nothing.
And so she kept checking, figured out the editor didn't exist,
(01:25:01):
none of it, None of the reporters listed on the
site actually existed, and then did reverse image searches or
checked whether they were AI, and sure enough they found
out that it was a combination of that. But yeah, man,
there's a lot of fake journalistic endeavors out there.
Speaker 7 (01:25:18):
You know.
Speaker 1 (01:25:19):
One of the things the Democrats did quite a few
years ago is and they still do this, and they
have these little fake newspapers and virtually every state here
in the East, in fact, I trying to remember the
name for the one in North Carolina. But they present
as local, little like folksy outlets. In fact, let me
(01:25:41):
let me find the name for you creds fake and
see newspaper, and then they act like they're just a
local news outlets, when in reality they are deep fake.
I don't even know how to describe it. They're fake
newspapers that basically just run left just propaganda, and then
(01:26:02):
they have little cutesy names like you know, the Peck
and Paw Daily, and you know, just just things where
it kind of get lost in the minutia if you
didn't really know everything. And then they would share those
as though it was local reporting about issues that may
arise to national interest. And also you know, lie to people, uh,
lie to people in let's see, in North Carolina or
(01:26:27):
Tennessee or Virginia or Maryland or wherever they have these things. Yeah,
hang on, I'd have to I'd have to find them.
They call them sometimes they're called zombie newspapers. But you know,
they made a whole thing. It's not to say that
there's not a GOP version here or there of these,
but they they were like proud of it. I remember
(01:26:49):
they issued a press conference they were starting all these
and it's just an effort to uh, yeah, run these
fae here we go. I just found it here. Yeah.
Fake local news. Yeah, Democrat operatives running pink Slime network
of fake local news sites. According to investigators, fifty one
(01:27:10):
different and so yeah, so Milwaukee Metro Times, the Mecklenburg Herald,
that was the one they were running down in Charlotte. Yeah,
so they basically they targeted swing states with these fake
newspapers North Carolina, Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Michigan, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Virginia,
(01:27:31):
and Wisconsin. Combination of aggravated news, aggregated news stories, sports results,
and content, but all with a partisan slant, most of
it funded by David Brock, who's a huge dem operative fundraiser. Dude.
And media matters for America, which is ironic because media
(01:27:51):
matters even though they are, you know, clearly biased in
one direction or the other. You know, they purport to
call out shenanigans within the media, and yet they were
participating it, participating in it through this Democrat super pac
that was doing these things. And again it's just call
these little Wisconsin Late Times, but that sounds nice, right, No,
(01:28:16):
it was. It was all leftist propaganda that was pretending
to be actual local news sites. So this is this
is why my point is going back to the story
where they found out the ones AI. You gotta don't
put your confidence in one outlet, and if you see
something that's extraordinary, try to find it published somewhere else,
(01:28:36):
which is generally the rule that I abide by. All right,
eight forty four, let's go ahead and uh set things
not clicking up. All right, let's go ahead and get
weather with mister. Is it Jeff Bart? Why is my
brain not working? Jeff? Did I just talked to you
an hour ago?
Speaker 2 (01:28:53):
So okay, Friday, it's understanding.
Speaker 1 (01:28:55):
Yeah, I'm already mentally out of here. I'm like, it's
the weekend. Let's do this, so let's get some weekend
weather to go do things in. Okay.
Speaker 8 (01:29:02):
Yeah, we've got dry weekend weather and we're going to
have some warmer weather as we headed a Saturday and Sunday.
By Sunday we'll hit the low nineties. In the meantime,
it's cool right now, but during the afternoon, with sunshine
and a light breeze out of the northwest, we should
hit Saturday seven that a load tonight falling into the
mid fifties and er a clear sky, beautiful weekend, plenty
of sun eighty sixty eventual high tomorrow. We'll stay drying
tomorrow night with a few clouds and a low of
(01:29:23):
sixty three, and then Sunday and hot for Sunday and Monday,
with highs each afternoon climbing into the low nineties.
Speaker 1 (01:29:29):
Okay, all right, hey, have a good weekend, sir, you too,
Thank you, and we'll come back and Erica Herskovitz she'll
join us for Bloomberg News and we'll do it next.
Erka Herskovitz from Bloomberg News isn't going to know what
to do with all that time. Erica, how you doing
this morning?
Speaker 9 (01:29:44):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (01:29:44):
Doing well?
Speaker 13 (01:29:45):
Casey doing well well. Delta Airlines CEO At Bashton claims
that soaring jet fuel prices did not cause Spirit Airlines
to go out of business. Instead, he argues Spirit collapse
because it had a quote bad product. Bashtian says budget
airlines just can't afford to offer the lower prices in
the environment we're in right now.
Speaker 2 (01:30:03):
The Iran war has put.
Speaker 13 (01:30:04):
More pressure on weaker carriers already struggling with debt, profitability,
and shifting consumer demand. And Spirit ended operations this month
after failing to secure emergency funding, and Delta says it's
hired a fair number of Spirit employees. General Motors says
it's hit its goal now powering all its sites and
facilities in the US with one hundred percent renewable energy,
(01:30:25):
and the company aims to completely power its facilities across
the planet with renewable energy by twenty thirty five. It's
also updating its vehicle plans, looking to phase out some
of the biggest versions of its Chevy Silverado pickups, but
also looking to bring back the Camaro muscle car. In
twenty twenty eight, YouTube is expanding a tool to address
unlicensed and potentially deceptive AI depictions of people, allowing users
(01:30:47):
to register their likeness and ask for removal of deep fakes.
The initiative comes amid congressional efforts, including the No Fakes Act,
to combat deep fakes without censoring protected parity and satire,
and to clarify online platforms liability for damaging content. A
diet coke shortage say it Ain't so. The war in
Iran and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz have
(01:31:09):
some major food and beverage companies experiencing or warning of shortages.
For example, in India, a supply squeeze for aluminum is
causing shortages of diet coke. Reuters reporting the scarcity has
led some consumers and businesses to throw diet coke parties,
where crowds pay an entry fee to access their beloved beverage.
Beyond Meat is putting protein drinks at the center of
(01:31:30):
its turnaround plan. The company's CEO says, Beyond Meat is
a uniquely positioned to compete in the rapid the expanding
functional beverage market because of its experience with formulating plant
based protein. Earlier this year, Beyond Meat rolled out Beyond Immerse,
a protein packed sparkling beverage, which was made available for
a limited time online and finally, case just in time
for the FIFA World Cup, Miller Lite is releasing a
(01:31:52):
limited edition soccer ball that can hold up to twelve
cans of beer, dub the Miller Time MVP Match Ball.
The balls available online May twentieth and cost nineteen seventy
five apiece and they're about one and a half times
the size of a regulation ball and come with a
display stand.
Speaker 1 (01:32:10):
Okay, all right, any feedback on the schedule release yesterday?
Some of that this morning? No got gotta look it over.
Speaker 13 (01:32:17):
Actually I did not.
Speaker 2 (01:32:18):
I did not get to look at it.
Speaker 11 (01:32:20):
What do you think?
Speaker 6 (01:32:21):
I think?
Speaker 1 (01:32:21):
My favorite part is that I've been feasting all morning
on Patriots fan tiers because they actually have to play
a difficult schedule this year, and they don't get to
play the Lingerie Football League whoever they played last year
to get to the super.
Speaker 13 (01:32:33):
Bowl, so yeah, and that seems a hot mess with
the with the Vrabel situation, so yeah, yeah, it's gonna get.
Speaker 2 (01:32:39):
A lot of attention, a lot of attention that I
love that drama.
Speaker 1 (01:32:43):
Yeah, I don't know my Viking's got. We got kind
of a tough schedule. I don't know how we're going
to be this year. So but I know our division
is going to be very difficult, So I.
Speaker 13 (01:32:54):
Know how the Jets are going to be.
Speaker 1 (01:32:56):
Well. Yeah, is nice to see in your life.
Speaker 13 (01:33:01):
That is the only consistency I have death taxes and
the Jets being horrible.
Speaker 1 (01:33:05):
And again, I'm just so excited we get to kick
it off in Melbourne, Australia. Makes perfect sense. So yeah,
all right, we have a good You appreciate it. So yeah,
we'll see, we'll see how it goes, and we'll be
thinking of you watching those Jets l stack. Okay, all right,
there you go. Erka Herskovitz from Bloomberg News, all right,
I just saw a horrible story and now I'm gonna
(01:33:26):
share it with you. What is going What is going
on in Canada?
Speaker 3 (01:33:30):
Man?
Speaker 1 (01:33:30):
So you know that Canada has a robust assisted suicide
program by creepily robust where what is it now? The
second leading cause of death in Canada or something some
wild number. Maybe it's not for all of Canada, maybe
it's for just one area. But you know, even as
creeped out as you may be, they called the made
(01:33:51):
program there, which is in and of itself creepy. You generally,
when you pick, when you see those assisted suicide, what
do you envision? You envision an adult who's dealing with
some sort of medical issue and they're just say I
I don't want to fight it anymore, and this is
the option I'm going to take. And well that may
not be the option for you. That's how most people
(01:34:12):
see it. Well what if I told you that physicians
in Quebec who testified in front of some committees of
the Canadian government up there, want to expand it. Yeah,
so this is fun. Actually, So here's what happened. A
video emerged from a few years ago of this one
particular physician saying it, and then this guy comes what
(01:34:35):
is his name, Brandon Tran or whatever, it doesn't matter.
So then the people make hay of this and now
he's doubled down on it. Yes, they want to expand
the assisted suicide program in Canada to babies, to babies
specifically babies from birth to one year of age who
(01:34:58):
are dealing with severe your disformities deformities. Okay, I know
this is some dark stuff for Friday. What is the
show's ending? How does a baby consent to it? Isn't
that the whole point of assisted suicide? Right? The person
is of sound mine, they've made this decision. They're an adult.
(01:35:18):
Let them do what they want. How is it with like,
you're just the the mask is off man, so your
baby pops out, You're like, I don't like that one,
and then you sign it up for the maid program.
I don't know if there's enough room in hell, man,
(01:35:41):
so you know where. Thankfully, it sounds like even some
of the moonbats up there were a little, uh, a
little uncomfortable with this particular suggestion. H but who knows.
Canada's off running doing its own thing. Maybe, And I ever, baby,
you can't post a adorable baby picks like Ross keeps doing.
(01:36:02):
By the way, is your baby now knows how to
pilot a gondola? Huh?
Speaker 2 (01:36:06):
You mean a gondola?
Speaker 1 (01:36:07):
Whatever?
Speaker 2 (01:36:09):
What do he says?
Speaker 1 (01:36:10):
A gondola? Yes, gondola what do you Brad Pitt from
Inglorious Bastards. So that's how he would say, probably like
twelve thirteen years ago, maybe even longer. Yeah, because time
is stupid and goes so fast. Now, Yes, we went
to Vegas with Marky's mom and her dad, Okay, and
we went to the Venetian Okay, I've never been there. Yeah,
and they give you like the boat rides right like
(01:36:32):
you're in Venice, the gondola, and her mom kept calling
it a gondola, so now we call it a gondola.
All right, fine, gondola. Rosbo's a picture of his of
his of his baby's wearing one of those little straw hats.
The people it's either a you're either piloting a gondola.
Feels weird to say that, or you're rafting the Mississippi
with Huck Finn.
Speaker 2 (01:36:52):
See I thought it was gonna be like he's on
the porch just whittling something. Okay.
Speaker 1 (01:36:56):
Yeah, it had a very old time. He kind of
little vibe theres that's for sure. So again, all Ross's
baby pictures, I'm convinced her ai because the kids too adorable.
So did it? It's just you just go look and
see we retweeted it on the show account
