Speaker 1 (00:00):
Meredith back from a Vegas vacation, which is weird because
that's the last place I went to and absolutely loved it.
I don't think I could do more than maybe three,
four days max. Vegas is intense. So I know you
have a lot of stories. You want to do a
little one and then save the crazy stuff for a
(00:21):
little later? Oh, yeah, sure. Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
I don't have anything super crazy. Just really like.
Speaker 3 (00:26):
The experience at the Sphere is unlike any other, as
you know. And I just can't wait to tell you
about something really special that happened at Wizard of Oz.
And it was just such a cool... We did three
or four days in Vegas.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
Because we flew in. Then we did one day.
Speaker 3 (00:41):
Wizard of Oz next day, no doubt, and then flew
home in that fourth day. But what was really cool
for us was we chose the Venetian because it's connected
to the sphere by the sky bridge that you can
walk inside. But because I was on vacation, they wouldn't
let us use the sky bridge. The whole reason I
chose that hotel. We had to still walk outside, walk
(01:02):
down around and, you know, when you're all dressed up
and everything. Anyway, because there was a jewelry convention and
they didn't want us peasants walking by all the setups
and the diamonds. So I was like, can we get
a credit or something? I mean, your martinis are $ 25
a piece. You could probably throw us a bone somewhere here.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
Yeah, the Vegas prices are insane. So because it was
kind of the Venetians' property, they could shut down a
public walkway?
Speaker 2 (01:26):
It's not a public walkway. It's inside.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
When you stay at the Venetian, you walk through their
little mall area and they have this beautiful covered called
Sky Bridge. You never go outside or onto the street.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
Right.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
And it ships you right into the sphere.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
Cool.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
That's why we chose it.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
Is it cool?
Speaker 2 (01:40):
I wouldn't know. I didn't get to use it. Either event,
we didn't get to use it.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
I was a peasant. I didn't even get inside the Venetian.
Speaker 3 (01:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
Like this riffraff from Sarasota, no way.
Speaker 3 (01:50):
Venetian had a whole experience, no doubt experience. You walk
in and it's like seven different rooms full. I felt
like I was at the Rock and Roll Hall of
Fame that I have been to in Ohio. It is incredible.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
It was fantastic.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
Things they kept through their entire time as a band.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
They had whole sections set up like some of their
music videos so you could take photos at the table
they're all sitting at. It was just over the top.
If you have anyone in your life that's a No
Doubt fan, you got to go.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
Yeah. You got to go.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
But I have other stories that we'll sprinkle through the morning.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
Especially our observation about how difficult it is to walk anywhere,
especially crossing the street on the Vegas Strip.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
It's absolutely, I mean, you just said it. All you
wanted to do was get to the sphere and you
had to do a Vegas marathon to get there.
Speaker 3 (02:40):
So we go to dinner way down the strip at
this little place called the Pepper Mill. And on our
way back, we're like, we need waters for the room.
So we buy a case of water at a CVS
and proceeded.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
I'm not kidding.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
1.5 miles, Sarah and I had a case of water
on one of our shoulders. We kept having to give
it back and forth to each other.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
Because that was the closest, I'm using air quotes, closest
convenience store to the Venetian.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
And it was, by the time we got back to
the room, we were like, oh my God, have you ever,
I hate carrying the case of water from my car
to the fridge.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
Imagine doing a mile and a half with it. We
were dying. I have the best picture of Sarah holding it,
going up one of the escalators.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
You're doing CrossFit just to get back to your hotel room.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
It was bonkers.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
But we drank.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
Every one of those darn waters, let me tell you that,
because we were like, we walked this thing like we
were back in the Egyptian ages of bringing it back
to the village.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
You could have gotten the $ 60 bottle of water from
the Venetian if you wanted to.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
Well, the best part of.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
This story is, as we're getting close to the Venetian,
there was a Walgreens we could not find.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
And that's because.
Speaker 3 (03:52):
It was perfectly nestled inside the front of the Venetian.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
Oh, of course.
Speaker 3 (03:57):
So we walked to a CVS a mile and a
half away.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
I know, it's so dumb.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
Welcome to the sitcom that is Eminem in Vegas.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
Oh, God, it was so funny.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
All right, quick break. Okay, you wanted it. You asked
for it. Let's do it. This is something we love
when local news is making that chitchat. And we're guilty
of it, too, here, where they're all pretty much saying
the same thing. Well, we all thought it when June
(04:28):
hit and they said it. Here we go. This is
a variety of local news clips. It is June 1st.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
Can you believe that? June 1st. Can you believe that?
Speaker 1 (04:37):
It is June 1st.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
Can you believe it?
Speaker 1 (04:40):
Oh, my gosh.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
Hard to believe it's already June. Hard to believe it's
already June.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
June 1st.
Speaker 2 (04:44):
No, it's hard to believe. It is June 1st. Hard
to believe.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
June.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
Hard to believe. June. Alex.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
Hard to believe.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
National Dairy Month?
Speaker 2 (04:52):
Hard to believe. Can you believe we've already made it
to June?
Speaker 3 (04:55):
Really?
Speaker 2 (04:56):
No. I can't believe it's already June. You know, I
can't believe it's already June.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
I know.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
Can you believe it's June? No. It's crazy.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
Can you believe it's June 1st? I can't. Can you
believe it is already June? I can't. That's a record.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
You do the line. Yeah. Say it. I'll tell you
what most of the co-anchors said.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
Okay, well, I can't... Can you believe it's June? I know.
Speaker 3 (05:17):
They were like, did you hear how.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
Many times it was like, oh, my God, can you
believe it's June?
Speaker 1 (05:21):
I know.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
I know.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
Can you believe it's June? I know.
Speaker 1 (05:23):
There was one guy, no. Yes. So there you go. Now,
it's not June 1st. This is obviously afterwards. But putting
those together is crazy.
Speaker 3 (05:32):
It makes me laugh every time.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
Of course, like you said, we're guilty of it.
Speaker 3 (05:35):
But here's something that I think is even more important
than where did May go?
Speaker 1 (05:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
206 days to Christmas.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
Oh, boy. There she goes. I'm surprised you're not wearing
Christmas gear already.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
I know.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
So, there you go.
Speaker 3 (05:50):
I know.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
I know. I can't believe it's June. WSRC, Coral Cove,
and iHeart Radio Station. Eminem, we just did the can't
believe it's already June montage.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
Oh, my God.
Speaker 1 (06:03):
I love it. I know. Paul's on the line. Hey. Hey,
I know it's can't believe it's June, but the bad
thing is we went to Hobby Lobby on Saturday. and
they've already got fall decorations out. No way. We just
got to summer.
Speaker 3 (06:21):
That is so sad.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
Okay, I'm going there right after the show, though. I
got to get some things. I got to get some things.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
Christmas, man, this is 200 and how did it go?
Speaker 2 (06:33):
I'm not allowed to buy any more Christmas things, but
I could use some fall items.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
Well, happy, happy. Thank you, Paul.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
Oh, the early birds.
Speaker 1 (06:41):
Have a great day, guys. See ya. Well, if there's
ever a store on their behalf, it can be Hobby
Lobby because they have every season. It's almost like year-round
they got their stuff up.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
But you know, even.
Speaker 3 (06:54):
Though I'm president, CEO, and founder of the Crazy Christmas Club,
there is a point when.
Speaker 2 (06:59):
It is too early.
Speaker 3 (07:00):
Like, think about any other celebration. Your birthday's in February.
So in November, if I started handing you items... confetti
cakes and cards and say, I just, I want to
be prepped because before you know it, it's going to
be too late.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
Right.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
It is really weird to think about celebrating that early.
Speaker 1 (07:18):
Just like self-checkout at Publix, feel free to do it yourself.
On our iHeart.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
Talkback Live, tap the microphone while streaming.
Speaker 1 (07:26):
Us on your phone.
Speaker 3 (07:27):
I have a text defending Hobby Lobby. about having stuff
out early.
Speaker 1 (07:31):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
Lego Lady says, in defense of Hobby Lobby and all
other craft stores, I feel like they should get a
pass when it comes to putting seasonal stuff out early
because I like to work on holiday projects and decorations.
a couple of months before because it takes time to
make things for people or for your house.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
Sure.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
So I get it. She says the rest of them. Yeah,
they need to chill.
Speaker 3 (07:51):
I hate having to buy Halloween candy in August and
bathing suits in February.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
Yeah, that's kind of what I said. I had Hobby
Lobby's back because that is what they do. And it
is year round and rightly so. They hit you in
the face with it when you come in, too. But
there you have it. Okay, so Vegas was fun. I
love the fact that you have already picked up on
the fact that you better get your step counter ready
(08:15):
when you go to Vegas.
Speaker 2 (08:16):
It was bonkers.
Speaker 3 (08:17):
So George and I went to Vegas on our honeymoon,
but I haven't been there in almost, what, seven or
eight years. So it was really cool to see the changes.
But this was something funny that happened. My friend Sarah
and I flew out of Tampa. And when we got
to the airport, all of a sudden we're going to
check in and somebody goes, excuse me, are you Sarah?
Speaker 2 (08:35):
To my friend. And I'm like, what the heck? And
she goes, hi.
Speaker 3 (08:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
She goes, Hey, I'm Mary.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
You commented in a no doubt Facebook group. And we
chatted back and forth for a little bit. She recognized
Sarah from two or three comments. This lady, Mary was
meeting her sister in Las Vegas and her.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
Husband was with her. So we met this lady. We
were like, Oh, that's so crazy. You guys are no doubt.
She had a no doubt shirt on.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
Great.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
We then proceeded to see her. In the hotel lobby
when we were checking in.
Speaker 1 (09:05):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
In the line for an Uber to go out later
that night. We saw them on the streets. We saw
them on the way to the pool. We saw her
and her husband no less than six or seven times
in four days. And then when we got to the
airport to leave, we saw them again. And it was like, Mary,
you guys should just have traveled with us. We could
have split Ubers. We could have split fares on everything.
(09:30):
But this lady, Mary, because of the No Doubt fandom group,
we saw them everywhere. In Vegas- The AMA, the American
Music Awards were there. BTS, the biggest group on planet
Earth was there.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
No doubt.
Speaker 3 (09:46):
I mean, Kelly Clarkson, there were huge concerts and you
didn't even feel like it.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
Everywhere you looked, it was no doubt shirts.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
They had the same itinerary as you did. That is
pretty amazing. It was wild.
Speaker 2 (09:57):
Even in the wild, we saw them. We were like... Mary,
what are you guys doing?
Speaker 3 (10:01):
Just come with us instead of stalking us. It was
a whole thing. But that was so much fun. And
it was really, really cool. Everyone was so kind to
each other. If you had anything, no doubt on.
Speaker 1 (10:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
They're like, yeah, where are you from? Like, it was
like this. You were part of this group all week long.
It was just killer.
Speaker 1 (10:17):
I think I love that. No doubt is one of
those groups that has like the cult like following from
that era.
Speaker 3 (10:23):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (10:23):
I saw you guys were rocking a lot of checkerboard.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
Yeah, that's that was.
Speaker 3 (10:27):
And Gwen Stefani asked when they first announced the residency,
if you come to shows, please dress up.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
And if you can do black and white checkerboard. So
it is fine. But I cannot wait to tell you
about the Wizard of Oz. Oh, cool.
Speaker 3 (10:41):
And I have stuff about the concert too, but I
really want to share Wizard of Oz.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
Let's put it this way. I would go back. To
see it again.
Speaker 1 (10:50):
Oh my gosh. You go back to a movie and
you're not a big movie person.
Speaker 3 (10:53):
I'm a huge movie person. I don't like going to
the theater for all of them. Yes.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
There you go. So you're saying the No Doubt Show
was bananas? It was. It was.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
It was B-A-N-A-N-A-S.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
I love it. David and Meredith, make them number one
on your iHeartRadio presets since they're number one in your heart. Well,
maybe in the top 10 behind your family. We got
another talk back concerning decorations going out early. Are we
giving a pass to Hobby Lobby already with, I can't
believe I'm gonna say this, fall decorations.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
Literally, the kids are just getting out of school and
they're like, fall? What is going on?
Speaker 1 (11:30):
I just got the tank top out. What are you
guys talking about? So here we go. Morning, David Meredith.
This is Dasher Don. Welcome back, Meredith. When I see
the first Spirit Store, then I know the seasons are changing.
That's my clue. Have a great day. The Spirit Store
(11:50):
is now the symbol of either a place closing or
get ready for Halloween.
Speaker 3 (11:56):
Spirit Halloween. They do pop up. That's such a famous
meme right now. Anytime anything closes, like Spirit Airlines that
just closed recently, within minutes, I saw a meme of
a Spirit airplane with the Spirit sign hanging over the
side of it.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
Which, by the way, is absolutely perfect.
Speaker 2 (12:13):
Internet is undefeated.
