Speaker 1 (00:00):
We just had something happen here a little earlier this
morning that I think is interesting and I'm kind of
curious where everybody is on this. Lulu said something and
I said, what was that? She goes, nothing. I said,
what do you mean nothing? She goes, I didn't say anything.
I'm like, yeah, you did. And she was talking to herself,
(00:22):
but out loud enough that like I thought she was
talking to me. And so we then started having this
conversation and she said she thinks most people, even if
it's a little bit, talk to themselves.
Speaker 2 (00:34):
Occasionally, definitely it's a thing.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
I don't think that's true. I don't talk to myself.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
Well, if you're alone, you might not realize you're doing it.
I don't somebody else.
Speaker 3 (00:43):
When I'm alone, I don't talk to myself.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
I will tell you this.
Speaker 4 (00:45):
Just when I did it earlier, I didn't realize I
did that. So if you're alone and no one tells you, hey, what,
oh you were, you don't know.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
So when you're alone, you might do it.
Speaker 3 (00:55):
I don't talk to myself, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (00:59):
But camera yourself at home.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
I think if you're talking yourself around other people, it
indicates that you definitely do when you're by yourself, I
would agree, but if you're not really doing it around
other people, I'm not sure.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
I mean, I'm not saying you're wrong.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
I'm sure there are people that talk to themselves only
when they're by themselves. But I would think if that's
a thing you do, it's hard to turn it off.
Like it's either something you do or you don't do.
That's the way I view it. There's nothing wrong with it.
I just find it kind of interesting.
Speaker 4 (01:29):
Well, thank you for that, because I know I do.
But I will say I'm not always aware that I'm
doing it.
Speaker 3 (01:34):
Well, it's interesting here.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
Lulu thinks more people than not, Yeah, talk to themselves occasionally,
whether they're by themselves or around other people.
Speaker 4 (01:42):
Oh yeah, definitely, in the car, at home, everywhere.
Speaker 3 (01:47):
Yeah, So are you aware you're doing it? Sometimes?
Speaker 5 (01:50):
Sometimes I'm like, oh, I just said that out loud.
Yeah to yourself? Yeah, okay, what about you? Do you
do it? Do you only do it in certain kind
of scenarios? I'm curious, Lula. Things most people do, but
I don't think that most people do.
Speaker 3 (02:06):
Oh yeah, and you had something on this, ma'am.
Speaker 6 (02:10):
Hi, I was calling about your topic talking to yourself.
Speaker 3 (02:14):
Do you yes? And I'm so glad.
Speaker 7 (02:17):
To hear other people too.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
Oh you're not allowed?
Speaker 3 (02:24):
Now what are you saying to yourself everything? I'm like, oh,
what an idiot?
Speaker 8 (02:29):
Look what he did?
Speaker 6 (02:31):
He did this, those kind of things.
Speaker 8 (02:34):
I kind of regret saying.
Speaker 6 (02:35):
But I'll talk to myself and for get. I think
I have conversations with myself me company.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
Is this a woman thing? I think more women do
it than men.
Speaker 6 (02:46):
Perhaps I don't know.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
I think so. I think more women do it.
Speaker 4 (02:50):
Why because maybe we realize that most men are tuning
us out anyway, So we just talked to ourselves. I'm saying,
room with you. But if I'm over here, if you
ask me, what did I say when I'm talking to myself?
Speaker 2 (03:05):
Just so you know, if I'm talking to you, sometimes
you're like wait, what start over? If I'm over here, I'm.
Speaker 4 (03:10):
Like like speaking under my bread my fault. Yes, yes,
now you haven't you talk to.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
Yourself and I'm the reason why.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
Yeah, okay, oh you agree, ma'am.
Speaker 6 (03:31):
We can cut it out.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
That's gotta be it.
Speaker 6 (03:43):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 1 (03:45):
You got a thought on this? Do you or does
somebody know talk to themselves? I'd love to investigate this.
The woman angles interesting. Do more women do it?
Speaker 2 (03:53):
It's possible.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
When you had a comment on this, ma'am.
Speaker 6 (03:57):
Hi, hey, I had a comment about talking to yourself.
Speaker 3 (04:02):
So do you talk to yourself?
Speaker 1 (04:03):
Oh?
Speaker 8 (04:03):
Gosh, all the time.
Speaker 6 (04:05):
Really, But it's only a problem if you're zoning out
and you're having this conversation in your head and you
say something funny and you start laughing and everybody staring
at you like you're a crazy person.
Speaker 1 (04:16):
So you crack yourself up.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
I did.
Speaker 9 (04:23):
That was no joke. It just happened yesterday.
Speaker 3 (04:26):
What were you saying? We got to hear the story now, Yeah.
Speaker 6 (04:29):
Okay, So we were talking about when I was pregnant
and I was talking to.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
These people about these commercials that used.
Speaker 6 (04:37):
To make me cry, and that was, you know, that conversation.
And then my mind was still going, I'm like, yeah,
that was really funny. I can't believe I did that.
Speaker 10 (04:45):
And for some reason, it's just make me laugh uncontrollably.
Around the same time, they were talking about their friend
that just died. Oh, looking at me like I'm a
stable person.
Speaker 9 (05:03):
I'm like, I swear, and it just reminded me of
what happened to me yesterday, I'm like, oh my god,
I really need to stop talking to myself.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
Here's the thing, you can't.
Speaker 1 (05:23):
If you're a person that talks to yourself, like I
bring up to my mom and I bring up to
Lulu all the time, they still do it. So I
don't think you can control it. It's just something that
you do.
Speaker 6 (05:33):
Yeah, yeah, I mean, you know, even if I'm you know,
at work or if I'm rereading errands, I have to
say something to myself to remind myself or you know,
like okay, this is what my schedule is.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
It's just so interesting to me that some people like
that or need that or feel like it helps them.
Like I say that stuff in my head. I gotta
get this done. You know, it's all internal. You guys
have to verbalize it like out loud.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
Yes.
Speaker 6 (05:58):
If I can't say it out loud, I won't remember it.
Something I just it goes off into la land.
Speaker 10 (06:09):
Why I was thinking about it in my mind and
then I just burst out.
Speaker 9 (06:18):
Laughing out loud. It's like, oh my gosh.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
So it's not your fault. It's not Lulu's fault. You
guys are in this land called la la la.
Speaker 4 (06:25):
I love.
Speaker 10 (06:28):
It's like the best movie it is.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
Do you talk to yourself? Do you know somebody that
talks to themselves? We love to talk with you now
you do, ma'am. But you have an explanation?
Speaker 3 (06:44):
Is that right?
Speaker 8 (06:45):
I think maybe sometimes people are talking out loud, but
they're talking to God.
Speaker 9 (06:49):
What yes.
Speaker 8 (06:51):
Like sometimes I'll be in store with like all my children,
I'm like, oh God, these kids are gonna drive me.
And I'm sure other people hear me think, oh my gosh,
she's talking to yourself, But really I'm talking to God.
Gives me the strength to get passed out here.
Speaker 2 (07:09):
That explains it.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
Love you, ma'am. I like that if you've got a
thought on that.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
And so, ma'am, you have something on this talking to
yourself thing?
Speaker 11 (07:18):
Yeah, the whole talking to yourself?
Speaker 3 (07:20):
Think, yeah, who's this?
Speaker 6 (07:21):
This is Dawn.
Speaker 11 (07:22):
I'm in Sarasota.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
So Dawn, do you.
Speaker 6 (07:24):
You drive my husband crazy?
Speaker 3 (07:27):
Why does it bother him?
Speaker 11 (07:29):
He thinks I'm talking to him and goes, what does
you say? And I'm like, I was talking to myself.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
That's exactly what happened with Lu and I and I
gotta say it. For about four or five years, No
joked on. She kept telling me, you're hearing things. I'm like, okay,
and then one day she came in the studio and
she's like, just so you know, my sister backed you up,
and she's like, I do talk to myself. Yeah, he
hears it.
Speaker 11 (07:52):
But I actually read an article once where they said
that it's a sign of intelligence and the reason you
talk to yourself is that it processes in a different
party of brain if you hear it as but you
just think it. So that's why people talk to themselves
as opposed to just work it out.
Speaker 7 (08:11):
And they're right.
Speaker 2 (08:12):
I have been feeling extra brilliantly.
Speaker 3 (08:21):
I've heard it all now.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
If you ask me, hey, love.
Speaker 3 (08:28):
John, have a great day.
Speaker 11 (08:29):
Thank you, don thank you bye.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
You got a thought on this? Do you or to somebody?
You don't talk to themselves?
Speaker 1 (08:37):
It seems like a lot of people have experience with this. Oh,
definitely Lulu does because she does it, and so do you, ma'am.
Speaker 3 (08:45):
Is that right?
Speaker 9 (08:46):
Hi?
Speaker 6 (08:46):
I'm telling about people to talk to themselves all the time.
My husband is the one.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
Really Okay, See, that's the first time I can recall
hearing a guy that talks to him.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
Yeah, me too.
Speaker 6 (08:57):
Yeah, it's really strange. She talks to himself like full volume,
like there's another person in the room, like I've maybe
muttered to myself like under my breath or something. But
he's kind of like full conversations at full volume, and
I'm like, hey baby, He's like, oh sorry, I was
talking to myself and it's very scraat.
Speaker 3 (09:13):
That is weird.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
Why do we think we do that? Do you have
the reason why you think your husband does it?
Speaker 9 (09:18):
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (09:19):
I think he talks out like he's a very stoic person,
so he's very quiet in person, so I think it's
like conversations he wishes that he had with other people.
It just sort of like talks it out to himself.
Speaker 3 (09:31):
And so he's stoic. So he's a calm person.
Speaker 6 (09:34):
Yes, very calm. He's a stay at home dad to
our kids. He's very calm, very patient. He definitely thinks
before he speaks, which is the opposite of me.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
I'm just gonna say this is interesting to me because
the women in my life that talk to themselves, my mother, Lulu,
and X of mine that I'm thinking none of them
were patient.
Speaker 2 (09:53):
None. I know.
Speaker 3 (09:54):
I'm now and you're not patient, and you talk yourself.
Speaker 6 (09:58):
Yeah, maybe just a little bit mutter under my breast.
Sometimes it's trying to make a decision or I don't know,
like a mental note, Like if I did something, I
was like, oh, mental note, don't do that again.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
Why do we say it out loud and I just
think it?
Speaker 6 (10:09):
I don't know, I don't know. It just feels better
to say it out loud.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (10:14):
There are some things I wish I could take back
that I thought no one was listening, and they were
when you were talking to yourself. Sure, you talk to
yourself without knowing it. I'm like, I just said that
out loud.
Speaker 6 (10:26):
He's a lot of times he doesn't even realize that
he's doing it until I say something to him and
he's like, oh, I didn't even realize.
Speaker 1 (10:33):
Do you ever get any information out of him when
he doesn't realize he's talking to him?
Speaker 6 (10:37):
So no, it's sometimes it's like a political conversation that
he has with himself, and I'm not interested in that
at all.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
You had to comment on talking to yourself.
Speaker 7 (10:52):
Yeah, no, you guys have to make a definition of
what is talking to yourself. I mean talking to yourself
like having a conversation or thinking out loud.
Speaker 3 (11:02):
Well, they're kind of the same thing.
Speaker 7 (11:03):
Yeah, having a conversation with Michelle, So how was your day,
Oh it was fine. Or you have to grocery store
saying okay, I got the eggs, I got the I
got that.
Speaker 4 (11:15):
No, maybe he has an imaginary friend.
Speaker 7 (11:19):
So that's what I'm saying. You have to define what
is actually talking to yourself. If you're injuring yourself, you're bonkers.
Speaker 3 (11:26):
I'm a checking d.
Speaker 1 (11:27):
All of the above makes you crazy.
Speaker 7 (11:31):
I have a great day.
Speaker 3 (11:32):
Guys, you do both
