Speaker 1 (00:00):
I just saw that today is National Fresh Breath Day,
a day promoting oral hygiene, brushing floss and keeping your
breath pleasant to people around you. And I said something
to Lulu because recently I was around some people and
I had to subtly say something to somebody about breath.
And Lulu can't believe I did that.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
I can't.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
So if somebody had bad breath that you knew, coworker, colleague, friend,
you're not telling them.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
No, I think it's kinder to let it go. Plus,
you would have no idea. It might not be that
they didn't do take mouthwash or brush their teeth. They
could have a medical issue that they can't fix right now.
It could be medications they're taking, any something like that too.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
So I don't think it's my place to go.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
Hey, what do you say, Hey, your breath?

Speaker 3 (00:46):
You might want to check it?

Speaker 4 (00:48):
I said, yet, any immens?

Speaker 2 (00:50):
Did you make it like you're asking for yourself?

Speaker 4 (00:52):
No?

Speaker 3 (00:52):
I was like, nymns, you should take.

Speaker 4 (00:54):
One, probably need a couple of mints.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
Whatuld they say?

Speaker 4 (00:57):
They said? Really? I'm like, yeah, what medical issue?

Speaker 1 (00:59):
Could somebody not use mouthwash, toothpaste or a mint.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
There's kinds of there's things that go on with their gums,
ginger vitis. Isn't that something I don't know about them?

Speaker 3 (01:10):
They have medically, maybe they didn't get to the dentist yet.
Like maybe something is.

Speaker 4 (01:13):
Buy a rinse. You can get it at a day
on Amazon.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
And you never know. I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
There's certain treatments that cause like the dry mouth and
everything which cause bad breath in all the things, I
don't know them all.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
So if somebody has bad breath that you know, you
are not saying anything.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
I mean if it was my sister or my best friends,
but I'm not going to say it.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
To like acquaintance. I wouldn't even say.

Speaker 5 (01:34):
It to anybody I work with, So no coworker, no
casual friends.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
I'm curious has this come up before. The critical part
of this is you're not trying to be rude. The
whole concept is you're trying to help them because if
you're aware of it and it's a bit off putting
to you, and we're only talking about scenarios where it's
very noticeable, you don't want them to embarrass themselves in
front of other people. That's the whole reason you're doing it.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
I think you're telling them because you don't like the
smell of it, and you're in the conversation you're like,
oh man.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
I'm low maintenance, so if I can smell it, it's
going to offend other people.

Speaker 4 (02:09):
I'm telling you right now.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
I just not be the one to do it. Nope.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
I think most people would do it, though. I think
most people would say something subtle.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
Not unless it's somebody close to you. I don't think so.

Speaker 4 (02:20):
All right, what would you do has this happened?

Speaker 3 (02:23):
I wouldn't.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
I don't know why they have their bad breath, and
I'm not going to be the one to embarrass them,
no matter who tells you you're.

Speaker 5 (02:30):
The goal is to embarrass them. The goal is to
help them correct the issues. It doesn't matter what the
goal is. That's how if someone told you that, I
would be glad it's happened, But you could.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
Embarrass Everyone's different. I wouldn't want to put them in
that position.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
You have a scenario here, ma'am about the bad breath.

Speaker 6 (02:45):
You tell them or not to do not what I
agree with, Lulu. It's a little awkward and embarrassing.

Speaker 4 (02:53):
We've got a.

Speaker 6 (02:53):
Girl at our work who actually, if you walk by her,
or if you're standing by her working, you're choking. But
nobody can say anything.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
You gotta say something.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
You gotta tell her to flya she gotta tell her
to brush her teeth, her tongue, everything.

Speaker 4 (03:10):
I mean, some personal though, But she's bothering you.

Speaker 6 (03:14):
I think if we found a way to say it
without offending her, that would be okay.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
What about like a coffee mug with a toothbrush, a toothpaste,
and a thing of fon.

Speaker 6 (03:23):
No, we worked our coffee place, that would probably work.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Yes, what do you think you're on the dentist office?

Speaker 6 (03:29):
Wait?

Speaker 4 (03:29):
Why can't you do that? She obviously has some kind
of oral thing going on.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
You're gonna leave it there anonymously?

Speaker 2 (03:34):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (03:35):
Oh boy?

Speaker 2 (03:36):
No, then she's like everybody's talking about her in the office.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
She'd be so off.

Speaker 5 (03:43):
That way.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
She's calling a radio station to talk about her. Lulu like,
we got to help the lady. Somebody's got to help her.
Nobody's helping her.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Somebody who's close to her, not a cowork, nobody's helping her.
Somebody will It's not you are helping her now.

Speaker 3 (04:00):
She doesn't even know we're talking about it.

Speaker 4 (04:01):
If you wor at a coffee shop.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
But anybody's ever said you got bad breath, you got
to take care of it.

Speaker 4 (04:07):
See, we just help somebody.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
I'm wondering when you do a bad breath like it?
But you you know, you can kind of tell there's
a taste in your mouth.

Speaker 4 (04:12):
Not always, not always.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
I've been told before and I was like, eh, I
kind of had a feeling maybe, but you're not sure.
And then sometimes I didn't think so, and then I did. Now,
sometimes it's after you've eaten something. Yeah, sometimes after you
maybe you've had some dental work and you're not aggressively
brushing and flashing because you're trying to be careful. But
all that stuff, then you got to over mint or
over mouthwash. Like, there's ways to compensate if you've got

(04:36):
a medical issue, or if you've eaten something and you're
not aware, or sometimes the tongue is a factor. I mean, seriously,
you've got to keep your tongue clean. You got to
brush your tongue or use a tongue scraper.

Speaker 4 (04:48):
And a lot of people don't know about that.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
Well, now you know just about everything you need to
know about taking care of oral health.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
Didn't know would you say something, Lulu would not our
friend there on the phone. Maybe she's going to do
something now. I don't know, but it's not fair to
that woman you're talking behind her back.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
Maybe you just have a keener sense of smell than
some other people, and maybe no one else smells it,
but you, so.

Speaker 4 (05:11):
Lula does.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
I think most people would do it now, I feel
like you should.

Speaker 4 (05:16):
Now you had something? Is that right?

Speaker 3 (05:18):
Hello?

Speaker 1 (05:19):
Hi?

Speaker 6 (05:19):
Can I test them? Are you mad?

Speaker 4 (05:23):
Yeah? We're both right here?

Speaker 1 (05:24):
Hi.

Speaker 6 (05:25):
Well, I think you guys shouldn't cut a best friends
that they have that breash because if you do, it
can hurt their feeling.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
Yeah, but what about when they're talking to you and
they stink? Doesn't that hurt my feelings?

Speaker 7 (05:38):
Well, it's talk to you?

Speaker 6 (05:40):
Oh you just can you please brush your teeth?

Speaker 3 (05:44):
Can you please brush your teeth?

Speaker 4 (05:47):
Are you okay with that? Lulu?

Speaker 1 (05:49):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (05:49):
I am?

Speaker 4 (05:51):
But I can't give them a toothbrush?

Speaker 2 (05:54):
Right?

Speaker 1 (05:55):
Have you said something? When this comes up? We'd all
would want to know. That's why you should say something.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
It could be something medical that they can't control right
now and that they're working on it.

Speaker 4 (06:04):
You could have a medical mouthwash. It's flavorful. Maybe it
could smell like polpourri.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
Gang Greenes, what do you say, ma'am, Hi, good morning.

Speaker 8 (06:17):
I'm calling about the fresh breath tobocle. So I carry
Men's with me in a little you know, they have
them a little package where you can open it up
so you can drop one in somebody's hands. I definitely
I don't even really say anything. I just kind of
pull the Men's out and we'll shake it a little bit.
Would you like to mint? Most people at this point

(06:39):
they get they get the point, they understand what you're
trying to say, and if they say no, thank you,
you just kind of give this little nudge you could
use one. You don't have to say. You can give
them a little face wrinkle your nose, and they're like, oh, okay,
I've never had anybody say please don't tell me when
I have that breath. I always want to know.

Speaker 4 (06:58):
I like your technique. So you offer it.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
If they don't take the hint or don't take the mint,
then you leave the container there without telling them you're
leaving it there and be like you really need one.

Speaker 8 (07:12):
Yeah, if you just a little bit.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
See, I couldn't even do that.

Speaker 4 (07:18):
Oh, I would definitely do that.

Speaker 5 (07:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (07:22):
Let me just say this. If somebody offers you.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
Mint, you initially turn it down and they jiggle the mints, Oh,
take them in.

Speaker 8 (07:31):
I tell you exactly exactly.

Speaker 4 (07:34):
I love you. Thanks for calling me. What about you here?
Would you do something? Say something or not? What about you, sir?

Speaker 9 (07:43):
I would say, you've got to tell them that they're breastakes.

Speaker 3 (07:46):
How would you say it?

Speaker 4 (07:47):
I would.

Speaker 8 (07:48):
I would treat mint, so I would offer it to them.

Speaker 9 (07:50):
Yeah, And if they said no, I would be like, yeah,
I think you do. Especially with the old zempic breath.

Speaker 4 (08:00):
So ozempik causes bad breath.

Speaker 3 (08:03):
Yes, Oh I didn't know that.

Speaker 9 (08:05):
I seed it on the news. So more and more
people are probably going to start to you know, we'll
get a little funky.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
There's gonna be an uptick in sales on mintce right.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
Look, even before the ozempic bad breath, everybody should keep
mints in their car if you're traveling, put them in
your side bag, your backpack, you carry bag, whatever. We
all should have that because just because of what you
eat and drink, that's even if you have good oral hygiene.

Speaker 4 (08:30):
And I'm shocked how many people don't.

Speaker 9 (08:32):
Exactly I agree that's the way exactly what I think,
because I literally when I go to meetings, I put
my mints on the table and hope that the guy
is sitting next to me will ask for them.

Speaker 4 (08:45):
Okay, hey, thanks for calling.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
Thank you you guys. Have a good day you too.

Speaker 4 (08:50):
Keep in mind too, this just isn't a man thing.

Speaker 3 (08:52):
Oh sure, okay, oh yeah, I'm sure.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
That the seekle opportunity bad breath.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
All right, he would say something. I would say something
in a polite way. Lula would not No, what about you.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
I would do it with somebody I was close with,
not just casual encounter.

Speaker 4 (09:13):
Yeah, so, ma'am, you have a story you want to share?

Speaker 10 (09:16):
Hi, I would tell the person next to me to
tell the person. For instance, I go to physical therapy
and my physical therapist has very bad breath. So I
told the other guy that I'm in pretty tight with.
I said, hey, you got to tell Jacob that his
breath is unbearable. Please?

Speaker 4 (09:36):
And what did he say?

Speaker 10 (09:37):
Oh, I'll tell him.

Speaker 4 (09:38):
I didn't notice that.

Speaker 10 (09:39):
I said, get a little closer, saying.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
You used a very interesting word to describe his breath unbearable.

Speaker 4 (09:53):
It was, oh my god.

Speaker 10 (09:55):
I told him to tell him that he's got a
job to do and hard to concentrate on physical therapy
when I have to smell.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
Oh wow, So can I make a suggestion just in
case your buddy doesn't help out here?

Speaker 9 (10:15):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (10:15):
He told him, Oh he did.

Speaker 9 (10:17):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 10 (10:17):
He went up to him and he said, oh my god,
she's right, and he goes, what's the matter.

Speaker 3 (10:21):
He goes, you need one of.

Speaker 10 (10:23):
These, and he gave him a breath man, Thank god?

Speaker 3 (10:27):
How did he receive it?

Speaker 10 (10:28):
Not sad? He was embarrassed. He was embarrassed.

Speaker 3 (10:32):
Yeah, I have to admit yeah.

Speaker 10 (10:34):
But hey, it is what it is. He didn't say
thank you. He just took one and walked off. That's
a win, I thought, So I got it accomplished.

Speaker 4 (10:50):
Hey, I love you, Thank you for sharing. Bye bye bye.
She was perfect. You gotta help that guy.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
How many people had the encounter she had and the
guy doesn't know, he's unaware, Like that's you got a
coworker didn't know. He wasn't close enough.

Speaker 4 (11:05):
She's doing physically talk.

Speaker 3 (11:06):
Throughout the day.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
You're not getting this close as when someone's getting in there.
You gotta lift this like that was her point. You're
not getting close.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
To him.

Speaker 10 (11:16):
All right.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
How close you think you're getting?

Speaker 1 (11:18):
She was pretty close, close enough you wanted to say
what hello?

Speaker 7 (11:23):
I would absolutely say something, would you. I would if
they were talking to me and breathing all over me,
and if it was bothering me. Absolutely, And my kids
are sitting here listening. David, absolutely as well.

Speaker 4 (11:37):
You have to Lulu you first of all.

Speaker 1 (11:39):
You have to do because you're not the only one
that can feel it, or see it or smell it,
So you got to help them out.

Speaker 2 (11:43):
I just think it's a loved one should do that
for them.

Speaker 4 (11:46):
But if they don't have a loved one, what if
they live alone?

Speaker 2 (11:48):
No, they have a loved one, mad brother, not a
loved one.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
It's happening. I hate to tell you there are people
without it, that are single, that don't have their family
around here

Speaker 2 (12:01):
Somebody who loves them, somebody, a friend, their dog,
