Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, welcome to the Lori de Young Show podcast. If
you missed our show today, we're sorry about that, but
here are some highlights for you. Be sure to catch
it tomorrow every weekday morning from five till ten, or
on the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Saday's Best Country ninety three point one w POC Baltimore
now top stories at the top of the hour.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
So Walmart issued its earnings report this week, and things
were looking good thanks to some declines and prices, and
so r about you were stressed about that. The company
did say it made some gains, is specifically among consumers
who make more than one hundred thousand dollars a year.
But those lower prices they talk about, they may not
last too long. Whal Mart's CEO John David Rainey's and
the retailer will likely have to raise prices on some
(00:42):
items next year if President Electrump's proposed tariffs take effect.
He said they never want to raise prices, but there
probably will be cases where it's inevitable. Low's CFO Brandon Sinc.
Also said prices will likely go up with the tariffs.
Roughly forty percent of Low's cost of goods sold comes
from outside of the US, and Sink said tariffs quotes
certainly would add product costs. So there's a few major
retailers that are already kind of raising the alarm here
(01:04):
to keep warning for higher prices. As we're talking about retailers,
you could expect some big changes on the way. For Target.
Target issued its earning support and it was well below
its outlook, sending its stock price down more than twenty percent.
Digital at in person traffic and Target stores increased in
the last quarter, but revenue dropped by over one hundred
million dollars compared to the same quarter last year. Meanwhile, Costco, Amazon,
(01:24):
and Walmart, as I just mentioned, have all been doing great.
So I imagine we're going to see some changes coming
to Target. There's already been rumors of a subscription based
plan for Target shoppers, but we'll see what this means.
I can't imagine that they're going to let this continue
since things seem to be going the wrong direction. I
saw this.
Speaker 4 (01:38):
Interesting thing about Target the other day and how they
when they were doing well, people were spending on average
like thirty five minutes in the store, and now because
they pushed everything online, people are only spending like an
average of like four.
Speaker 5 (01:49):
Minutes in the store.
Speaker 4 (01:51):
Interesting, and they're not picking up all the random, the
extra stuff. Yeah, so that's why they're down. And I
thought that was really fascinating. That is Costco won't let
you do curbside pickup. You have to go, so you
have to spend time in the store.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
And that's so smart.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
Yeah it is.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
And then's what happens. We see stuff we didn't even
know we needed.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
For sure, And then I saw this really quick. I
thought it was interesting. A new study claims that a
majority of Americans want doctors to ask about their mental
health now. The new study found seven out of ten
respondents want their healthcare provider to ask about their mental
health as well as their physical health during annual physical appointments.
More women wanted this than men. It was seventy six
percent compared to sixty five percent. But I just had
my physical the other day, and I think we spent
half the time on mental health. So my healthcare provider
(02:31):
already does that. I thought it was kind of interesting
that they do put such an emphasis on it, But
apparently that seems to be the growing trend. People want
more of that. Yeah, there you go.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
Well, mental health has been really, it's been rough the
last one.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
I think people are understanding more that your mental health
is tied to so many other things in your physical
health too, So they're understanding I got to take care
of this too.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
Yeah, it's all together. Yeah, all right. Coming up on
your brief, Bethany after Nate Smith.
Speaker 4 (02:54):
How much money does Jeff Bezos have.
Speaker 3 (02:58):
Account? The way to give away?
Speaker 4 (03:00):
One hundred and ten million dollars, I'll tell you who
the lucky recipients are coming up?
Speaker 1 (03:05):
All right, here's the world on fire.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
Growing you calling queens.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
Yes, sir, I'm all in budding, army jerk post malone,
look like Shelton And it's about seven minutes till seven o'clock.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
It's Nashville News Now with Saint Pierre on ninety three
point one w POC Update.
Speaker 3 (03:34):
We were talking about cleaning things. My wife texted me
because I said she doesn't do the dishes, and she said,
when was the last time you cleaned the base boards?
I said never, because I never will clean them. They're baseboards.
They don't need to be cleaned.
Speaker 1 (03:45):
It was cleaning baseboards just the other.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
Just wasting your time. The other day. I'm sorry to
hear that about it.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
I could see the dust on him. I didn't like that.
Speaker 3 (03:53):
I feel like the ones that are dirty are the
ones that are behind things, and I'm never gonna see
it anyway, So I don't care, all right, CMA Awards.
So there were some surprise this last night. Laurie, do
you want to talk about our picks? You want to
save that for later? I don't know we could talk
about so you said earlier that we had no loser.
Today everybody got too, right?
Speaker 1 (04:10):
Was it we all surprise? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (04:13):
So the big I think the big surprise for me
overall was that Shaboozi and post Malone were completely shut
out of the awards. That surprised me. Yeah, and jelly Roll.
But at the same time, as much as I love
jelly Roll, I always had a big year. It didn't
shock me because I do think there's going to be
a lot more moments for jelly Roll where I feel
like the Chaboozi and post Malone like it was their moment,
(04:34):
Like I don't know if there I don't know if
there necessarily will be other moment for.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
Them, you know, Yeah, yeah, I.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
Don't think post Malone's going to do another country record
like I think this is his one opportunity, and he
had arguably the biggest song of the year right there
with Shaboozi, and Shaboozi has nearly a record setting song
right now. So anyway, not that I'm everybody's deserving of
these awards, I was just surprised to see them get
shut out of the voting.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
So I can go over the ones that we picked.
Speaker 3 (04:58):
Okay, so we picked Entertainer.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
And you guys, uh, let's see. I think I said Laney, Yeah,
you said Laney, and then we said we thought it'd
be jelly Roll. That was Bethany and I.
Speaker 3 (05:07):
So we were all round missing that because Morgan wall
And got it, which looked well deserving. I mean, he's
done so much in the last few years it's hard
to argue that he doesn't deserve to be award. I
mean him and Luke Combs are just kind of like
they should just be battling it between each other because
they're both just doing such massive things out there right now.
Speaker 1 (05:23):
Yeah, Single of the Year, we all picked a bar song.
Speaker 3 (05:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
I was shocked that didn't get it, I have to say,
But I do think sometimes because you had a bar
song and you had I had some help in the
same category. I think the vote get split. I agree,
so white Horse ended up winning. But let's see. And
then when it came to Album of the Year, you
picked Chris Stapleton, Okay, Bethany and I went with Jelly
(05:46):
Roll Nobody got.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
Nobody Got Down. That was Cody Johnson's Leather. I was
a little surprised by that one too, but that's fine,
it's a great record.
Speaker 1 (05:53):
Yeah, let's see. Male Vocalist of the Year. I picked Stapleton.
Speaker 3 (05:59):
Yes, I believe I did too, right. No, oh, I didn't.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
You picked I really and you picked Luke Comb's Bethany
her Male vocalist. Okay, Musical event, you picked the two
of you. I had some help. I picked.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
So you got that one? They got it, yeah, which
is a song that's perfect for that, I guess. I
was just still surprised at beat Post Malone and Morgan Wallah. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (06:23):
I thought for sure that'd be the one that Post
woled win.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
Yeah, and you guys got New Artist.
Speaker 3 (06:28):
Of the Year, correct, yea, Megan Maroney.
Speaker 1 (06:30):
I picked somebody else on that I can't remember even who.
I lost that page. Oh, I picked Shaboozi. I thought
Shaboozy was okay, but that Megan Maroney. So those are
the ones that I have written down, and uh yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
I think those I think some of those were where
the surprises were. I don't. I mean, I don't think
Landy Wilson winning Female Vocalist was a surprised vocal group
was obviously going to be old Ominion, Brooks and Down
getting Duo of the Year. I don't know if i'd
call it a surprise, but it was shocked, but not
a shock, yeah, I mean, because I obviously, like I
think the duel just a tough category. Nobody in that
category this year had a big year, really per se
(07:05):
but Brooks and Dunn did have a really big tour,
so I guess that makes sense to put them over
the top on that.
Speaker 4 (07:10):
You know.
Speaker 3 (07:10):
Look, look, I love the Brothers Osmore. I know they're
local and they're great, but they haven't really done a
lot in the last year, so I'm not shocked to
see them not get it this year.
Speaker 1 (07:17):
I think everybody's felt like it was a sweet moment.
Speaker 3 (07:20):
Then Brooks absolutely Let's see what else? Anything big else
on here? Christapleton's Song of the Year for white Horse
as well. I did like Musician of the Year. I
know this is one we don't talk about a lot
because a lot of times you don't know the musicians,
but Charlie Worsham won the Musician of the Year. He's
so talented and he's like he's tried his hand at
being an artist as well, and he's got a couple
of records out there are just so really, really good.
(07:41):
I was just really glad to see him getting some recognition.
He tours with Dirks, he does he does tour with Dirks.
There was an interview I did a couple of years
ago during the pandemic when we were doing those virtual interviews,
and that one of the guys I forget who it
was that I was talking to, was in his backyard
and he's like, it's so funny. I've lived here for
like a year and I used to hear this guy
playing guitar in the backyard to the point where I
was like, guy, just stop playing guitar, like we're all musicians.
(08:04):
So he's like he finally went and looked over the
fence and Charlie Worsham was behind him. He was like, Okay,
you keep playing guitar. You can play guitar as much
as you want. But there you go. We got more
CMA stuff on the website WPOC dot com. We'll talk
about it more throughout the morning too.
Speaker 4 (08:17):
Oh, you're getting some texts about your cleaning situation in
Saint Pierre.
Speaker 3 (08:21):
We can go over those. You can tell me base boards. No,
they don't qualify you, grant like Gilbert sitting up to you,
gum lovely.
Speaker 1 (08:46):
It's Morgan Wallan ninety three point one w POC, the
CMA's Entertainer of the Year last night. So congratulations to Morgan.
So I saw this a little statistic the other day.
They say, according to a recent a cur a, twenty
eight percent of us clean our earbuds a few times
a week. Twenty six percent say they clean them every day. Okay,
(09:08):
but the truth is everybody has something that they just
want to be clean. It has to be clean. A
lot of people mentioned I put it on our Facebook
countertops is a big thing, unlike that. I was just
in here with you, Saint Pierre, and I was looking
at I saw a big splot.
Speaker 3 (09:23):
Well, the animals that come into that studio after you leave.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
I have no idea.
Speaker 3 (09:27):
I'm looking at you, Bob and Michael.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
I don't know what they're doing in here, but sometimes
I can identify what it is. Sometimes I can.
Speaker 3 (09:34):
I don't know why. It's like people make that comment
that kids are always sticky, your studio is always.
Speaker 1 (09:39):
Sticky, always sticky.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
But when you're off for a day and I come in,
I'm like, wows everything?
Speaker 5 (09:43):
That's what I deal with?
Speaker 3 (09:44):
Everybody? I know?
Speaker 5 (09:45):
Yes, how hard is it to keep this clean?
Speaker 3 (09:49):
Be not sticky? The animals that come in?
Speaker 1 (09:53):
I would really we should put a camera in here
so we could find out what comes up.
Speaker 3 (09:57):
Maybe Bob with like a can of soda, just spraying
it every.
Speaker 1 (10:00):
All right, Let's see what else do people say? Dina said,
my bed sheets, she wants those clean.
Speaker 3 (10:09):
My car.
Speaker 1 (10:10):
MJ says my car. That's a whole different beast, but
I want it clean. Let's see what else? Did somebody say, Oh,
they don't want dirty dishes in the sink, so they
want their sink clean.
Speaker 6 (10:21):
See.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
I told you everybody's got some kind of a thing.
What is it for you, guys? Is there a cleaning thing?
There's one particular thing.
Speaker 4 (10:29):
On text somebody said, I really want other people to
wash their bodies.
Speaker 5 (10:34):
They must be clean.
Speaker 3 (10:36):
Near me.
Speaker 4 (10:38):
Someone said, Hey, I need to have clean tennis shoes.
Speaker 5 (10:42):
Someone else said underwear.
Speaker 4 (10:43):
Yeah, I think I am, like whatever I'm drinking water
out of.
Speaker 6 (10:51):
Like Black Friday is coming. And for the adults in.
Speaker 7 (10:56):

You know how a lot of people have these like
water bottles and stuff. Like I've seen too many videos
where there's like more and.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
Stuff like that.
Speaker 4 (12:01):
So I'm like, kind of I don't know whatever, I'm
drinking water out if I want it to be yeah.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
Yeah, you don't want to be making yourself sick drinking
your water, which is supposed to be healthy. Yeah, what
about you, Saint Pete.
Speaker 3 (12:12):
I you know, I have to go with the sink
thing only because like my wife has washed dishes before,
but like it's primarily my responsibility and I don't really
have like an issue with seeing a few things in
the sink. But like, since I'm the only one that
does it generally, I would love to have it clean
because then I wouldn't have to do it every day.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
I just wish that it was clean for me. Yes,
I wouldn't have to do it every single day. Dan said,
the toilet, Okay, I get that. I think for me,
it's like hair. I want my hair to be clean.
You know some people that will go days because they
think their hair actually looks better, they can work with
it better if it's a little dirty. I'm not on that. Uh,
(12:56):
I'm not in that train of thinking. I would say,
I I want my hair clean. So I think there's
a lot of things like countertops is big for me too,
But that's just because you're setting stuff on your counters.
You're touching them all the time, and I want to
put something on the counter and then have it stick.
All right, if you want to tell us what it is,
(13:17):
what's your cleaning thing, we'd love to hear from you.
And texting's great seven seven nine six two start with
high or hay, or you can go to our Facebook.
You can call us eight hundred three two one thirty
six ninety three. We're here for you. We're here to listen.
You're picky about one thing that you just got to
have clean?
Speaker 8 (13:37):
What is it?
Speaker 1 (13:38):
Here's Jordan Davis What my world spins around.
Speaker 7 (13:45):
I love the first cast, when the water's glass and
the line starts a round.
Speaker 3 (13:49):
Well, that first sip of a cold beer.
Speaker 1 (14:04):
Chaboozy eight minutes after six.
Speaker 9 (14:07):
To keep us in the loop of entertainment and pop
culture and the things we shouldn't care about, but somehow
we really knew.
Speaker 6 (14:15):
Be on ninety three point one.
Speaker 4 (14:19):
All right, So the CMA Awards I've got some awards
of my own to give out, So for best dressed
on the Red carpet, I'm going to give it to
Ashley Cook or Tiger Lily Gould. They all looked pretty great.
As far as best dressed man, I'm going to give
it to Shaboozy. He looked great and he had sparkly
(14:40):
cracks on. And then Riley Green also was serving last night.
Dustin lynn a good looking man. You've not noticed that before? Yeah,
he can walk my red carpet anytime.
Speaker 3 (14:52):
To give equal time, I gotta say, I gotta be
shot out to Alana Springsteen and she didn't have like
a big flashy dress on, but she posted on Instagram
like her photos like they all got photo the Red carpet,
and I was like, okay, she did look good. Oh my,
but he did. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (15:05):
Yeah, she just can't get my best dressed toward because
it wasn't notable, you know, she just looked great.
Speaker 3 (15:11):
Yeah, okay.
Speaker 5 (15:12):
Dustin Lynch brought his mom.
Speaker 4 (15:13):
They looked adorable on the Red carpet with coordinating outfits.
Kelsey Vallerini and Chase Stokes were giving Tim and Faith
energy like they were like the hot you know, hot
looking couple on the on the red carpet. Uh so
Morgan Wallen. We talked about this a little bit already.
Speaker 5 (15:30):
He won.
Speaker 4 (15:31):
Uh, he's the most nominated artist, but he's only won twice.
Speaker 5 (15:34):
He won Entertainer of the Year last night.
Speaker 4 (15:36):
Didn't show up Jeff Bridges excepted say like, we can't
make out now if he said Whalen or Wheelin, but
it wasn't Wallen.
Speaker 3 (15:46):
Yeah, I'm pretty sure Jeff Bridges has probably never heard
of him before, so that it.
Speaker 4 (15:52):
Was a pretty funny moment. Chris Staple didn't want so
many awards. He like ran out of things to say
on stage, but he did gush over his wife, which
I I look forward to. Yeah, every time Carrie Underwood
made a surprise appearance to sing.
Speaker 5 (16:04):
With Cody Johnson. Uh and nobody knew, which was fun.
Speaker 4 (16:09):
Brookstonton and Jelly Roll brought a lot of people in
the audience to tears.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
Oh my gosh, Jelly took us to church last night.
Speaker 4 (16:16):
That duet is good, goody And then everyone raised a
red soul look up to honor.
Speaker 3 (16:21):
Toby Keith, which I thought was sweet. So I felt
like that fell flat.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
Yeah, it was a little it was a little underwhelming.
Speaker 3 (16:29):
Yeah, like it, And I don't mean it. I mean
no disrespect to Toby Keith. I feel like he deserves
a tribute, and I just felt like their tribute was
just kind of like that's not like they would have
been better off not doing it, almost.
Speaker 4 (16:41):
Felt uh huh. And other news that is unrelated to
the CMA Awards. Did you guys see the Richard gear
Savannah Gothrie moment?
Speaker 1 (16:51):
No, I've heard about it.
Speaker 5 (16:52):
I hate it, Like I hate it.
Speaker 4 (16:56):
You have to watch it because it is it's so cringey,
like my like, do you ever want something? And like
get the ick Like it's it's that he like doesn't
want to be there.
Speaker 5 (17:07):
He flips off the came yeah yeah, and Savannah is
like what is going on?
Speaker 4 (17:13):
So I would watch that if you want to feel
a little icky today, if you don't stay away. And
then Leslie Ellen degenerous in Portia de Rossi officially left
the country.
Speaker 1 (17:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (17:24):
They moved to the Cotswold region of England in the wake, Yes,
in the wake of the election.
Speaker 5 (17:31):
And it doesn't appear to be a stunt.
Speaker 4 (17:32):
They've already sold some of their properties in the US
and the rest of for sale.
Speaker 1 (17:36):
So but you know, it's interesting. I get it that
we hear about the stars and what they're doing, but
I always think, well, that's nice for you, you know
what I mean. Like, I think a lot of people go, well,
I'm moving out of the country and then they can
do that easily, and I'm thinking, Okay, well that's nice
for you.
Speaker 5 (17:55):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 4 (17:56):
I think it's interesting to see someone like you hear
a lot of threat but but they're doing it. They
put it for sales. Sign on that sucker. And I
just want to take this opportunity to remind to Ellen
and Portia that I am a realtor.
Speaker 5 (18:07):
So I need any help you need to sell your mansions,
you know what to call it?
Speaker 1 (18:13):
All right, coming up here in just a minute, we're
going to talk about what it is you want clean. Okay.
So all of us have certain things that we just
want them clean, and people were talking about this the
other day, and we want to know what it is
that's really important for you to have clean. If you
want to text us about it, you can seven seven
nine six two start with higher hay and yeah, well
(18:36):
we'll get to that in a minute. We've got a
kind of an increasingly cloudy day, a cooler day, not
as cold as it's going to be tomorrow. We'll be
in the low fifties later this afternoon, but right now
it's forty outside ninety.
Speaker 10 (18:47):
Three point one WPOC traffic, So the vehicle fire on
ninety five southbound is causing quite a bit of a
situation now in Hartford County, looks like things are backed
up for about a half an hour.
Speaker 5 (18:59):
Two eight lanes are blocked and the other lane is
just crawling.
Speaker 3 (19:02):
Right now.
Speaker 4 (19:03):
BW Parkway southbound between Arunda Mills Boulevard and one seventy
five is slow. Eight ninety five southbound between Boston Street
and the Harbor Tunnel starting to back up right now.
And then it looks like road construction on US one
southbound by Whiskey Bottom Road in Howard County is causing
the right lane.
Speaker 5 (19:18):
To be closed.
Speaker 3 (19:18):
There.
Speaker 8 (19:19):
That's look at traffic. I'm Bethany on the Lorit Young Show.

U poc Baltimore now top stories at the top of
the hour.
Speaker 3 (20:51):
Give me a wendy day today with afternoon temperatures only
hitting around fifty three degrees, a slight chance of some
pop up showers this afternoon. The big story, though, I guess,
is the low tempts tonight are going to be around freezing,
so we'll have a winter like start to tomorrow morning.
And don't be shocked if you see some snow in
some spots in the area. Nothing that's going to matriculate
too much at all. Specifically, those areas north and west
(21:12):
of Baltimore can see some flakes. Areas south of the
city will likely see some rain tomorrow. Your high temperature
tomorrow is set to be forty seven degrees. It's going
to be a cool one.
Speaker 11 (21:20):
Boo.
Speaker 3 (21:20):
I know, I know. Have you seen what's going on
out west? Though at least we're not getting this. The
Pacific northwest is dealing with a powerful bomb cyclone. Up
to four inches of rain We're recorded across Washington State, Oregon,
and northern California by yesterday afternoon, and they're calling from
their twelve to eighteen inches by tomorrow. Flash flooding, rock slides, landslides,
and more problems are all likely today from the storm.
I guess at least two people have already died due
(21:42):
to the storm and the Northern California Mountains blizzard conditions
will be possible starting today with one to four feet
of snow and winds between fifty to seventy miles per hour.
It is a very rough goal.
Speaker 1 (21:52):
But the way they name these things bombs side no,
I mean it feels like that. I'm sure if you're
in it, but it's just kind of They get more
dramatic as the.
Speaker 5 (22:01):
Year, so much more fun for the meteorology.
Speaker 3 (22:03):
Oh yeah, and the CMA Awards went down last night.
We're gonna be talking about that throughout the day. I'll
just give you a couple things. Kind of a surprise
night for a lot of people. Chris Stapleton in particular,
took them three awards. That makes him the most decorated
artist in CMA Awards history. He has now won more
awards than anybody else. Brooks and Don also had a
big night as they took their crown in the Duel
of the Year category. You can find more info awpoc
(22:24):
dot com. I'll have more for you at six fifty
Internashville News segment and of course throughout the day because
it is the big, big topic of conversation. The morning
after the CMA Awards will be talking about it.
Speaker 1 (22:33):
Yeah, we will. Yeah. Shaboozi one of the performers and
nominees last night, he didn't get an award at all.
Speaker 3 (22:40):
I don't think he did.
Speaker 9 (22:41):
Not.
Speaker 1 (22:42):
Yeah, I don't think Jelly Roll did either.
Speaker 3 (22:45):
Did Actually, I don't think so.
Speaker 1 (22:52):
It's Nate Smith and it's nine minutes after eight o'clock.
Speaker 9 (22:56):
I keep out in the loop of entertainment and pop
culture and we shouldn't care about but somehow we really do.
That's an area on ninety three point one PC.
Speaker 4 (23:08):
So congratulations to Viola Davis, who's going to receive the
Cecil B.
Speaker 5 (23:11):
De Mille Award at the Golden Globes.
Speaker 4 (23:13):
She'll be honored during a gala hosted by Nicki Glazer
on January third. I can't believe Nicki Glazer is hosting
a gala, but I can believe that via that Viola
Davis is getting this award as well deserved. The total
cost of a Thanksgiving meal for ten should be fifty
eight dollars and eight cents this year, according to the
American Farm Bureau Federation's annual report. That's actually down more
(23:36):
than three dollars from last year. That's a decrease of
about five percent.
Speaker 1 (23:41):
But they said in Maryland it was going to be
what over seventy dollars. Really, yeah, we're well high up
on that.
Speaker 3 (23:47):
Yeah, I mean those are average prices and yeah, sure.
Speaker 4 (23:49):
Well I'm going to Virginia in case anybody wondered, or
I'll be dining, okay. Cambridge Dictionary has announced their word
of the Year for twenty twenty four. It is manifest
I hate it so much, you hate it.
Speaker 3 (24:03):
I just feel like it's one of those words that
got so overused. I was just talking to somebody yesterday
like I manifested this to happen. I was like, no,
you did it. You manifested anything.
Speaker 5 (24:11):
They might they may have manifested it.
Speaker 1 (24:14):
No vision did St.
Speaker 5 (24:15):
Pierre, Okay, manifesting man would have posed it.
Speaker 3 (24:18):
I mean, if this is if vision boards, that's what
makes it work for you. That's great. I think that's awesome.
But like, like I was talking to someone that works
in Nashville for a record label and they were talking
about a number one song, like I manifested this to happen. No,
you had nothing to do with it. You work for
the same record label. That's the only thing you manifested.
Speaker 5 (24:36):
That's so funny.
Speaker 4 (24:37):
It's been looked up close to one hundred and thirty
thousand times on the Cambridge website and for those of
you who haven't looked it up but yet, it means
to use methods such as visualization and affirmation to achieve
something you want. Jeff Bezos and his girlfriend Lauren Sanchez
have committed one hundred and ten million dollars to combat homelessness.
(24:59):
It's part of bezos is Broader, pledged to donate the
majority of his wealth, and while those contributions will help
the problem, many argue that systematic changes like improved wages
and affordable housing.
Speaker 5 (25:11):
Are actually what we need for change.
Speaker 4 (25:13):
But what I love about this is his ex Mackenzie Scott,
also donates a crap ton of money. Yes she does,
and they seem to be trying to out donate each other.
Speaker 1 (25:21):
Amazing let's go for it, Let's do it.
Speaker 4 (25:24):
And lastly, a church in Switzerland introduced an Ai Jesus.
Speaker 3 (25:31):
To take confessions.
Speaker 4 (25:33):
Many worshippers found the experience helpful and thought provoking, but
of course critics dismissed it as a gimmick and questioned
AI's moral capacity within religion.
Speaker 3 (25:44):
I think it's interesting.
Speaker 1 (25:45):
Oh, the world is an interesting place, no question. All right,
coming up, we are going to give away a gift
card to Wise Markets. You're going to have a little
trivia question to answer, so we'll give you some more
details on that. We've got an increasingly cloudy day. We've
got some sunshine right now, but more clouds as the
day goes. It looks like low fifties for the high
It's forty one outside right now.
Speaker 3 (26:07):
Ninety three point one.
Speaker 12 (26:08):
Wo it's Morgan walland ninety three point one w POC
your new entertainer of the year.
Speaker 1 (26:22):
Bob Delmont's here. Hey, everybody, Yeah, it was first hour
and a half.
Speaker 13 (26:27):
I thought I was speaking of Luke Holmbs, which we weren't.
Because Morgan Wallen was the entertainer of the year. I
think he was like one of the best performances of
a song in the week.
Speaker 3 (26:36):
Yeah, I thought so. I don't know. He just sounded
really good.
Speaker 1 (26:39):
Did you get to the duet with Jelly Roll? I
keep calling it a duet, but I know they are
a duo Brooks and Done with Jelly Roll.
Speaker 3 (26:47):
Uhrio, Yeah, I believe. I thought that was great.
Speaker 1 (26:50):
I thought that was great.
Speaker 8 (26:51):
You know.
Speaker 13 (26:52):
Bethany was just talking about that old album and how
the different arrangements of their song was just like be
a breathtaking and she was blown away by it.
Speaker 3 (27:00):
Thing.
Speaker 13 (27:00):
I gotta kind of listen to myself each track. But yeah,
that was a great performance.
Speaker 1 (27:03):
Yeah, it was a big night for Chris Stapleton. He
got three awards, Male Vocalist, Single and Song of the Year.
Speaker 14 (27:10):
I am taking it back. Thank you so much for this.
I owe my wife an apology. That last award belonged
to her too, and she didn't come up here. It
all happens so quick. I love you hunting backstage wherever
you are getting ready right now.
Speaker 1 (27:23):
Yeah, because he had one single and that was his
acceptance for Song of the Year, and he was, you know,
you forget like I would do that, get up there
and forget.
Speaker 3 (27:30):
Absolutely I should have.
Speaker 5 (27:32):
I think he makes it clear every day how much
he lost his wife.
Speaker 6 (27:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (27:37):
I thought their performance of their song together, I thought
that was great.
Speaker 3 (27:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (27:41):
Yeah, Thomas Rhett with Teddy Swim.
Speaker 13 (27:44):
I love that that was so different the starting backstage.
I mean not that it's not, but I thought that
was kind of neat. Yeah, I just thought that. I
just thought they sounded good. I thought it was a
great collaboration.
Speaker 4 (27:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (27:56):
Yeah, there were a lot of really good performances.
Speaker 13 (27:58):
I shuld boozy Wood. Everybody was surprised about it.
Speaker 1 (28:01):
I did too, that he didn't get anything. I thought
either that or new artists or yeah, but anyway, it
happens every year there's somebody that you think jelly.
Speaker 3 (28:11):
Roll didn't win anything.
Speaker 1 (28:12):
He seemed to have a big year too, but you know,
it's the way it goes.
Speaker 3 (28:16):
I was curious just I know, not everything is based
off of actual success of a song, but I was
just kind of curious, like how the songs were doing.
So I was looking at the streaming services because that
to me is people are actively looking for your song
if they're going to stream it. And Shabuzzi has basically
a billion storms on a bar song, white Horse has
two hundred millions, right that's so very good.
Speaker 1 (28:36):
I still think that got split by because the posts Malone.
Speaker 6 (28:41):
Black Friday is coming. And for the adults in your life.
Speaker 7 (28:44):
Who love the coolest toys, well there's something for them
this year too. Batisian is the premiere craft cocktail maker

Speaker 1 (29:41):
And Morgan Wallen's song was in there too. Yeah, so
between Nan and Shaboozi probably split vote and then white.
Speaker 3 (29:47):
Horse got it and that song has almost eight hundred
million streams, so still two and a million behind Shaboozi.
It's still very successful.
Speaker 1 (29:54):
It's hard when you have a song that's that successful
and you come away empty.
Speaker 5 (29:58):
It's like that one is factual.
Speaker 3 (30:00):
You'd think it.
Speaker 1 (30:01):
You know, it's based on I can't argue. Yeah, Today's
National Stuffing Day. Are you a stuffing guy? Your favorite?
Speaker 4 (30:09):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (30:09):
Yeah, A lot of people say that is their number
one favorite thing. My son and I. Taylor was over
at the house the other day and Ed was he.
So I put the stuffing together, but he stuffs the
bird and one year he threw a lemon in there,
and the stuffing all tastes.
Speaker 8 (30:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (30:27):
So he started talking about how excited he was Thanksgiving
was coming up because I'm gonna put an orange, and.
Speaker 5 (30:34):
Both Taylor and I are like, no, no, don't get
fancy ed.
Speaker 1 (30:38):
We like it the way it is. Just leave this
stuffing aloud.
Speaker 4 (30:42):
Once, when I was growing up, somebody put raisins and
the stuffing and.
Speaker 5 (30:48):
What are you doing?
Speaker 3 (30:49):
I don't want that pychopath.
Speaker 1 (30:51):
Some people put oysters and stuffing.
Speaker 5 (30:53):
I'm okay with that. Or bacon, that's good too.
Speaker 1 (30:56):
I want the stuffing to taste.
Speaker 4 (30:58):
Like that fancy, and that's a key to be What
about nuts, No, why it doesn't.
Speaker 1 (31:08):
It has plenty of ingredients already. Let's not What.
Speaker 3 (31:11):
Value would nuts bring to the stuff? Pas and macaroniums?
Speaker 6 (31:17):
Oh no?
Speaker 4 (31:18):
The text peas and cheese is so nasty.
Speaker 1 (31:25):
Somebody believes there that sheese improves everything the case. So,
the Steelers are playing tonight against the Browns. Are you
excited for that game?
Speaker 13 (31:33):
I might watch the first half. It's I hate night games,
hate them. It's so ridiculous.
Speaker 3 (31:39):
I only aren't making through halfway through.
Speaker 1 (31:42):
One day on our show, we're just going to say, Bob,
name the things you like.
Speaker 3 (31:45):
That's not true.
Speaker 1 (31:48):
A quick show, all right. We we mentioned this a
little while ago that December third, the McRib is coming back, and.
Speaker 5 (31:55):
I know you don't.
Speaker 1 (31:57):
Nobody legs, but that was kind of a good news story.
But I'm just gonna give you the second half. Did
you hear that the McRib topping that barbecue sauce can
be purchased now for just twenty dollars. Get half gallon
of that sauce where half gallon?
Speaker 3 (32:17):
Oh my, it's a driver and give you a half gallon.
They have a website. I think I think the website
is a whole lot of mcribsauce dot com. I'm not
even getting that. I need that the sauce.
Speaker 5 (32:28):
The sauce is better than the.
Speaker 1 (32:31):
Actual meat sandwich.
Speaker 3 (32:33):
But if you're selling anything in a jug, you're selling
too much of it.
Speaker 1 (32:36):
I know when I saw that, I thought, you'll.
Speaker 3 (32:38):
Never use a big straw.
Speaker 1 (32:40):
You're drink and you are not stop it right.
Speaker 3 (32:46):
The radio sound.
Speaker 2 (32:50):
Making Today's Best Country ninety three point one w POC,
Baltimore now top stories at the top of the hour.
Speaker 3 (32:58):
Oh we got an interesting football game tonight. Week twelve
of the NFL season gets started with a matchup between
the Browns and the Steelers. So on AFC North matchup.
Cleveland is sitting last in the AFC North at two
and eight. They aren't quite last in the NFL, but
they aren't far off. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh is on a roll
and coming off that big win over the Ravens on Sunday.
So here we are Ravens fans hoping the Browns can
(33:18):
pull off the surprise upset tonight on Amazon Prime Video.
That would definitely help the Ravens hopes moving forward if
the Steelers would get a loss, So we'll be watching
that one closely. Kickoff is set for eight fifteen tonight,
again on Amazon Prime. A report on sexual allegations involving
Matt Gates will not be released, at least not for now.
President elect Trump's nominee for the head of the Department
of Justice has faced accusations of sexual misconduct, including allegedly
(33:41):
having sex with the seventeen year old girl and paying
some ten thousand dollars to women. After a long closed
door meeting yesterday, Republicans on the House Ethics Committee fell
in line with party leaders and voted not to release
the results of their investigation in de Gates. This despite
growing calls from the Senate GOP to make the findings
public ahead of his confirmation hearing. The decision to blow
the findings raises more questions about what is actually in
(34:02):
the allegedly damning report and about what happens and the
information at the Ethics Panel has already collected on Gates.
So I don't think this is going to end anytime soon,
but for right now, that report is not coming out.
That's a news update.
Speaker 1 (34:13):
All right. We've got those Thomas ret tickets. I think
it's August twenty second. He'll be at Jiffy Loube Live.
You could be there too, callar nine. The tickets are
yours eight hundred and three two one thirty six ninety three.
Here's Dustin Lynch with Jelly Rolling and Lane. It's Mitchell
ten veny ninety three point one WPOC. Let's do a
(34:36):
little flashback here to last night's CMA Awards. So Cody
Johnson got Album of the Year for the album Leather,
and he was a little surprised.
Speaker 3 (34:45):
I did not expect that.
Speaker 14 (34:49):
I surely expected for Chris Tableton or Jelly.
Speaker 3 (34:51):
Roll to be announced. I'll be honest with you. I
will say I.
Speaker 14 (34:54):
Looked at my wife Brandy, and I said, jelly Roll's
got that.
Speaker 3 (34:59):
There's very you moments win in your career and when
your life the rick flair feels appropriate.
Speaker 1 (35:05):
But I love that. I love that. I think everybody
was a little bit surprised, not that he isn't a
good artist, but I think, uh yeah, I think.
Speaker 3 (35:14):
What what didn't get it for Jelly Rolls? That album
has been out for too long. Yeah, like whatsaid Chapel
came out what felt like a long time. He just
put a new one out like a month ago or
two months ago or something. So I just feel like
that people were already kind of over that one at
the time they were voting.
Speaker 4 (35:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (35:28):
I can't tell.
Speaker 5 (35:28):
If I'd rather win an award if it was a
surprise to everyone.
Speaker 1 (35:32):
I think so I think i'd rather be I would
rather be personally surprised, but.
Speaker 4 (35:36):
Go ahead, sy or if like everybody was like, of course, yeah,
you know yeah, because I did this surprise, feels like
we didn't think he should have win.
Speaker 1 (35:44):
It, right right, you know, well he wasn't thinking he
was good. Yeah, So I think when you're just as
surprised as everybody else, maybe that's better. I don't know,
Lady Wilson, I got female vocalists last night.
Speaker 11 (35:56):
If you feel like you gotta give, you're supposed to
share it. And I think mains whether you drive a
tractor or poor coffee make people smile or laugh, whatever
that is, I think you're supposed to share that gift.
And I just want to say thank y'all so much
for letting me share mine.
Speaker 5 (36:14):
Thank you Jesus.
Speaker 1 (36:15):
I just love Lady Wilson. I just I don't know,
she's got a great attitude. But anyway, so congratulations to
all the winners last night. One thing that seam here
and I were just talking about a little while ago
is there were a couple of artists that they're they're
very talented Shaboozi, one of them Megan Maroni, but maybe
it wasn't their best performance, and we were just thinking,
(36:37):
you know, they're newer artists. To being up on a
stage like that in front of you know, people like
George Strait and some of the people you grew up
listening to has to be really intimidating. So sometimes you think,
is it that they don't hear themselves in their monitors well,
or maybe it's that they're just nervous. I could I
thought Meghan Maroni seemed really nervous, But wouldn't you be
(37:00):
if you were kind of, you know, new to this
whole thing. As far as being on an award show.
I'm not saying she just started, you know, performing a
year ago, but it's just kind of like an intimidating
place to be, So I guess you got to cut
people a little bit of slack, and they also serve
a lot of alcohol bics.
Speaker 3 (37:20):
I also think too, and I've heard this from people
that produce the show. The show is made for people
in the crowd, not for people watching from home. So
like the audio you're hearing, they don't hear the same
issues that we hear at home. Like, I mean, think
about how many times not to drag her name, but
how many times we saw really kind of rough performances
from Taylor Swift on that stage. I've never seen that
(37:40):
girl miss a note live.
Speaker 1 (37:41):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, you know, so I think.
Speaker 3 (37:43):
Sometimes we just we hear the imperfections differently than what
people in the audience are hearing too.
Speaker 4 (37:49):
Yeah, from the text, somebody said, I love seeing all
the country music stars dressed up and performing. However, I
thought a lot of the music was a little too slow.
I wanted to hear some upbeat stuff.
Speaker 3 (38:00):
I had that feeling too. I felt like there were
a lot of ballads. And then you know, I was
watching back some of the things I missed, and like
Bailey Zermann came out and he really had like a
rock and I mean, I hate the song so much,
but it was at least some energy the show needed.
Like he came out and really blew the roof off
the place and it was just like, wow, okay, this
is what we need people to get amped up.
Speaker 1 (38:17):
Yeah, Luke, Colmbs was really he did his own.
Speaker 3 (38:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (38:21):
Yeah, there were a couple that even the beginning of
the show, when Chris Stapleton was up there, I thought
that was a you know, a lot of energy. And
so with post Maloni, was.
Speaker 3 (38:32):
That like kicking off the country show with a song
about smoking weed exact?
Speaker 5 (38:37):
So I mean energy.
Speaker 1 (38:38):
I know for sure Teddy Swims Thomas Rhett that song
had a lot of energy. I liked the mix of
having the songs that were really energetic and then the
ones that were very soft and poignant, like that Casey
Musgraves song. That was a beautiful moment.
Speaker 7 (38:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (38:54):
Somebody actually texted about that said, I love the Casey
Musgrave's performance.
Speaker 5 (38:58):
It was beautiful. Her voice was so pure.
Speaker 3 (39:00):
She is the perfect woman.
Speaker 4 (39:02):
Amy said, I love the show. All the duets were amazing.
I was in tears listening to Kelsey Bellerini and Noah
con That was great. Ashley McBride's tribute to Chris Christofferson
was beautiful.
Speaker 5 (39:13):
Luke and Pey and Ley were very entertaining.
Speaker 1 (39:17):
I thought that it was kind of corny.
Speaker 3 (39:18):
Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna go on a limb here,
and I know this is gonna be harsh and maybe
unpopular opinion. That was the worst opening to any show
up ever. They're like, like I felt like I've seen
corny and country music. Like, I think country music has
always lived on corny in a lot of ways, and
that's okay. Like I thought Brad and Carrie had like
a corniness to them, but it was like it was
like they were in on the joke. Yeah, so I
(39:38):
felt like I could, but I don't think Luke and
Peyton were in on it. Like I think they thought
they were being really fit and it just wasn't. I
actually thought Laney was a good addition.
Speaker 1 (39:48):
I know she was kind of in the same script
and stuck there, but her personality seems to fit the
hosting thing a little more.
Speaker 3 (39:56):
There was one moment I forget what the line was,
but like you could see it on her face even
she knew it was mad. She was like, this is awful.
Why am I standing here?
Speaker 5 (40:06):
Uh huh uh huh.
Speaker 3 (40:07):
I love Luke Bryan. I love Peyton Manning, like I
think their fun got like it just it was not
working last night. Whatever it was, I just was really.
Speaker 1 (40:13):
Glad Ellen Langley and Riley Green one musical event of
the year that gave me one of the winds.
Speaker 3 (40:19):
I wasn't mad about watching Ella performing.
Speaker 1 (40:21):
No Beautiful, Beautiful Woman.
Speaker 4 (40:23):
Somebody said, who has to buy the coffee?
Speaker 1 (40:26):
But it was a three way tie free way tie.
Speaker 3 (40:28):
Yeah, so I did buy the coffee because I owed
Lori money already the last time. My mother.
Speaker 1 (40:34):
Yeah, so uh yeah, we each had two right, that's all.
Just each of us got to right. Here's George Bird.
We want to know your thoughts, so text us.
Speaker 5 (40:45):
Okay, I don't call me she loses things.
Speaker 3 (40:51):
I got a fan all what she does when she drinks.
Speaker 5 (40:56):
So I got a lamb.
Speaker 1 (41:01):
Zach Brown band ninety three point one w POC with
a little help for Alan Jackson. So I was thinking
about this the other day because my husband and I
we can have the same exact conversation five times a week. Sure, okay,
and it's short, and here's what it goes like. My
husband will say, don't we have the sweetest dogs? And
(41:24):
I go, they are so sweet?
Speaker 3 (41:28):
There it is that's it, that's your that's it.
Speaker 1 (41:31):
Wow, we're just in such agreement about the dogs, and
we're so tickled that they're as cute and sweet as
they are, that they bring us great joy. But that's
all we say is just don't we have the sweetest dogs?
And it can be me asking him, there's so cute?
Speaker 3 (41:48):
Is this what I had to look forward to in
a few years on the line?
Speaker 4 (41:53):
Right?
Speaker 1 (41:54):
Is that riveting? Or what I didn't say? The deepest
conversations I said, the most frequent. That's funny, the same
topic over and over all. Right, is there anything Bethany
at your place? I know it's just you and your son,
but is there a conversation that comes up on a
regular basis?
Speaker 3 (42:10):
Yes?
Speaker 4 (42:11):
And a Texter totally agrees, Hi, what do you want
for dinner?
Speaker 10 (42:15):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (42:16):
There it is there, it is.
Speaker 4 (42:18):
Yeah, or if for Turner it's uh, I'm gonna make
spaghetti for dinner. I don't want sphetti. Well that's what
we're having. Well I'm not going to eat it. Okay,
that's okay, more for me. So it goes like that, Okay.
Speaker 1 (42:33):
I actually start getting anxious right before my daughter comes
to town. So she's coming in tonight with her husband,
of course, and they're going to be here for Thanksgiving
and they want to come in early, so we're to
have them here. And I was saying this yesterday. I
get anxious because that's all she wants to think about.
What are we having for dinner? Or are we going
(42:54):
to go out for dinner? Or where? Literally I don't
think about that first thing in the morning, but she does.
It puts pressure, and I'm always like, I don't know,
I don't know what we're doing.
Speaker 5 (43:04):
I'll make a decision, I'm sure, But can you put
her in charge?
Speaker 7 (43:08):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (43:08):
I have, but she has very expensive tastes and likes
to go out a lot.
Speaker 3 (43:12):
Okay, okay, all right.
Speaker 1 (43:16):
Okay, Saint Pierre. What's the common most often spoken words
over there with you and the wife? Were you and your.
Speaker 3 (43:22):
Daughter, I'll take the food out because that was that
would probably be the number one thing in our house too.
But I think now, because our daughter definitely knows how
to manipulate us already, the most common thing my wife
and I will say to each other is what did
you tell her? Because to be like, oh, mommy said that,
I can and I'll be like, I'm sorry, Mommy, what
(43:43):
did you tell her? Because I just want to make
sure we're on the same page.
Speaker 1 (43:46):
Yes, the Divide and Conquered they start that young.
Speaker 4 (43:48):
Oh yeah, that's probably going to be your conversation for
the next.
Speaker 3 (43:52):
Yes, absolutely absolutely. I mean even last night I was
I was in a mood with the kid. Last night
she drove me nuts. Yesterday we had a battle, she
and I and I was downstairs doing something cleaning, I
don't know whatever I was doing, and my wife yells
in the stairs. Did you tell her she could have
iPad time? Because she told me you did. I was like,
absolutely not. I said, no iPad tonight. Uh. Oh, so yeah,
(44:14):
it's non stop now.
Speaker 4 (44:16):
Kimberly on Tech said, our conversations are usually finding out
which friends bands are playing where for the weekend, or
or she said, just yelling bless you through the house
when we're in different areas. Uh, somebody said in our
house it's here is where you find the dishwasher. And
(44:36):
then Beverly Anne from Dundalk is not doing well. She says,
my dad keeps asking me how long I'm going to
be in the shower. My dad is seventy five, I'm
fifty and he doesn't live with me, and I have
more than one bathroom. And again, he doesn't live with me,
she said, but he's here every day. It's my house
(44:57):
that I own. She goes on and on. It's water,
that's what she said. A twater that I pay for
and I'm fifty.
Speaker 1 (45:03):
Let me be in it for two hours if I
feel I need to.
Speaker 5 (45:06):
Oh, Beverly, we're with you girls.
Speaker 1 (45:09):
Oh that's so cute.
Speaker 3 (45:11):
That is so cute.
Speaker 1 (45:12):
All right, Well, if you have that kind of all consuming,
constant conversation at your house, we'd love to hear from you.
Text us seven seventy nine sixty. You start with higher. Hey,
