Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're on board the Nautical Ventures Weekly Fisherman Show with
legendary fisherman Eric Brandon, an extreme angler Joe Hector, powered
by Mercury Marine, Go Boldly.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
Holy fab three.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
What one of them got away?

Speaker 4 (00:21):
Yeah, one got away. Welcome to the Dogal Ventures Weekly
Fisherman Show. Sooner be here number nineteen in January.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
Wow, you're older than the girls you date.

Speaker 4 (00:30):
Duh, that's a very funny thing. I never get a
date period, so it's very funny. Okay, Yeah, there you are,
So we'll talk about this guy a second night. Forty.
I thank you Jeff for flying the ship there at
Steven Jake, great crazy man.

Speaker 5 (00:41):
Thanks for Happy Saturday. How you really this morning? Gentlemen?
On the final Saturday at twenty twenty.

Speaker 4 (00:45):
Four man, I had a wicked, nasty bruh bug the
entire week and finally I'm here. This I thought would
make the show because I was kind of out of outs.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
Yeah, when you called me last night at quarter to one,
he's calling you early. Yeah, it was early, very early.

Speaker 4 (00:59):
Just kiss me anytime this morning. It'll be kind of bad.
So to my right, my fridaycase, you're brand new to
the show, was Joe Johnson. He was how many years
in magic you put in twenty eight? You got canned?

Speaker 1 (01:11):
Right? Yeah, I got canned the best of and mom,
that's the show. Love those jingles, man, right, great stuff, man,
the great stuff. And then Beatle Brunt's been on for
thirty three years. Can you believe it? That's insane.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
I hope to be making money off it by next year,
you know.

Speaker 4 (01:31):
Speaking of Beatles, Joe, I guess I'm trivia for you
this morning. I'm totally totally Beatle knowledge lists, right, okay.
In thirteen days, it's the sixtieth anniversary VJA Records introducing
the album Introducing the Beatles. Sure, and in ten days later,
Capitol Records releases Meet the Beatles. Yeah, I know that
because it's right on my phone here.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
Well listen, it's a good place for it.

Speaker 4 (01:55):
But that's a big anniversary, Ma, thirteen days, the sixtieth
anniversary of the Fab four hitting the US.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
Well, well, they got here in sixty four, so when
it gets to be five or whatever, twenty five, it'll
be almost sixty twelve years.

Speaker 5 (02:08):
When they first showed up here, they went to the
Douville in Miami Beach. Is that where they went they stayed.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
At the Douville and then it's since been torn down, Yeah,
with legend behind it, and I was there. We actually
did a fiftieth or a fortieth anniversary from that stage.
The actual dovill stage had a tribute band and all
that stuff. So yeah, they I'm surprised they weren't at
the at the Fontaine Blue or something, but the Doville
at the time had a big shopping mall underneath. It

(02:33):
was pretty cool, very cool stuff. You've met Paul, You've
met Ringo, You've met the entire crew.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
I didn't know.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
I didn't meet the two that are gone, but I've
been Yoko and Lva, Harrison and the others, and obviously
Paul and Ringo. Yeah, there's it's interesting when you meet ringers. Yeah,
I know I was in the Beatles and they go
ahead and what's the question. Yeah, thats right.

Speaker 4 (02:55):
Okay, good impression, Joe. So I'm thinking, like you know,
yours are the Beatles, like I am the hairspray. That's
our expertise.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
Okay, it didn't stick to you either.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
Huh.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
Well, let me see your shoe right, Well.

Speaker 4 (03:07):
It's it's just fishing. I shoul understand. What we're doing.
It's fishing and you're working a.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
Beat I thought it said flushing because you spent so
much time on the bath. It was just there moments ago.
Thank you very much.

Speaker 4 (03:16):
I'll have a shutter to here. He's got a Wayne
Cott holding gun line. One can't hold up Wayne. He's
six foot nine and would squash us both of his
right foot.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
Yeah, that wouldn't be good.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
It would be a bad day.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
It'd be a bad Beatle day.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
That'd be a bad Beatle day. Have your beetle crushed? Right,
it's not a white God reward fishing fleet. Wayne ge
waning to you, buddy. Hey, gentlemen, good morning, Good morning Wayne.

Speaker 4 (03:36):
So are you a Beatle fan from back.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
In the day?

Speaker 6 (03:38):
Ah, Man, of course, of course I watched that Sullivan
you know back then? Yeah, yeah, dudes, many you know there.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
Are four of the nicest. Yeah, very nice.

Speaker 6 (03:49):
Wonder Eric and I I think Eric and I grew
up in a wonderful era.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
Boy of all kinds of cool stuff.

Speaker 6 (03:55):
My very best friend was the first guy to get
thrown out of school from Norland High School, but not
in his haircut.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
Wow. Wow, that's great stuff.

Speaker 4 (04:03):
Yeah man, yeah, so real quick white God, Joe Johnson,
Joe Johson, Wayne cot.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
Hey, Wayne, good to have you on the show.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
Brother, Nice, happy man, happy Joe.

Speaker 4 (04:11):
He runs I think called the Reward Fishing Fleet, so
kind of a party call him party headboats. Nice seeing
like fifteen twenty thirty five guys in the boat. Right
he charges like as.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
We could put on.

Speaker 4 (04:21):
I mean, you go out there with Joe for for
a day and fish for Wayne.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
What's it?

Speaker 4 (04:25):
I don't know, fifty bucks? What would you charge the.

Speaker 6 (04:27):
Day a little more? Yeah, we're up to seventy five
now for every real do you do? Stupid jokes, the
whole bit, you know, everything.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
So there's fishing and partying, there's everything on board party, fish,
your bar whatever, man. Yeah, okay, primarily fish though. All right,
all right, that's why we're here. We're here to talk
about fishing, waite. What kind of where? How far out
do you go and what do you what are you catching? Most?

Speaker 7 (04:51):
You know, we were rotten.

Speaker 6 (04:53):
Our standard trip is about a four hour trip. Four
and a half hours. Oh that was where Yeah in
a way, but you know what the average person wants
to go out. They're happy to take a forty five
minute ride and we do all the whole way out
we get we have a lot of tourists have no
idea what downtown Miami is, what the waterway is, Dodge Island,
the whole thing Fisher Island, and you know, we kind

(05:14):
of we kind of like do the combo thing, you know,
and get a lot of folks just come into town
that are hanging around for the holidays.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
So and our local folks as well.

Speaker 6 (05:23):
So we do a shorter trip because people an offshore
experience sometimes of fishing. It's like anything else with fishing.
It can be phenomenal, it could be could be poor fishing.
Fishing is always great if you're amongst good people and
uh and you and your crew is is the right crew.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
So it's all about.

Speaker 6 (05:40):
You know, since this COVID thing especially, it's become more
and more apparent. Man, people just want to get outside.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
Yeah, it's nice to be out there with the air
blowing and the breeze and all those.

Speaker 6 (05:49):
Don't be told what to do and don't you got
to do this and you have to put a hat
and a mask and you got to do it. You know,
it's like, yeah, we got rules, but come on, come on, please.
So anyway, anyway, that's what we provide, and we also
you know, I've grown up in the in the South
Florida fishing community for tip in the cap number fifty
years and I fished. I was heavily into the met

(06:11):
tournament I won. I won several of these MANI met tournaments,
which put me up against a lot of the better
light tackle fishermen up and down the whole coastline, and
I won three of them over the I guess the
eight or ten I fished, and that's fishing with six
pound line eight pound twelve. So my history goes back
to a very good light tackle and understanding the nuances

(06:31):
of that and.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
Fishing with artificial lures a lot.

Speaker 6 (06:34):
Growing up like that. I actually started on the party boats.
I was playing basketball from Miami Dade North back then.
I've at North Miami High. You know, we were a powerhouse.
But I was into fishing so hard, and Bouncer was
killing us because man, he got to go out fishing
in the ocean with with the with the old plug
reels that we use.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
They had no drags.

Speaker 6 (06:52):
By the way, fish we fished with plug reels with
no drags, use your thumb and that that's you know
that's caveman fishing. But you know what, try it. That's
all I gotta say. So all right, but yeah, I
grew up doing that stuff, and that's how I got started.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
And bouncer goes, well.

Speaker 6 (07:07):
If you want to, if you want to come fishing
out in the ocean, he says, you got to come
to work on the party boat.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
So so I went to work.

Speaker 6 (07:13):
Yeah, I was going to work like three four nights
a week, and I'd cut the mullet and I'd serve
the customers and scrubbed the boat and get five bucks
a night.

Speaker 5 (07:20):
You know, wait, wait, it's amazing how things have changed,
because back in the day, you know, you you had
to manually use your fingers to drag, and now we've
got drags all over South Florida.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
It's just changed drag community. That's right, You got that right.

Speaker 8 (07:34):
Joe's going down the hole with me too, Bro, I.

Speaker 4 (07:38):
Follow your trap. Wait, let's get back up for a second.
Man wants the rewards leap for catch this week? What
do you guys be holiday man?

Speaker 6 (07:46):
You know what, you know, we have a we've had
a really nice nice showing the sale fish where we're
catching them. A few almost every trip, some days multiples
and you know what for the average joe to come
out and we get if we get ten twelve people
on the boat, we uh shot kita every trip pretty much.
When's blown, we put kites up. So that's the bottom line.
Live bait on a party boat. We got two live

(08:07):
walls on each boat, and we provide a live boat
for live ba excuse me, for customers that they'd like it.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
So you can sit right next.

Speaker 6 (08:14):
To the greatest salefish guy in the world catch just
as many as him. They don't know kind of boat
you're in it, that's right, and no idea if you've
never caught a sailfish before. You know, you get to
bring a twenty pounds spinning right out. We'll give you
a live base and you got a great shot. And
he got fish for a few hours and maybe you
can catch them. But yeah, they've been coming through pretty good.
My son had a couple of days he works on
a big spencer. He had some twelve fifteen fish days

(08:35):
late afternoon.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
They really were chewing really good. He told me so.

Speaker 6 (08:39):
But yeah, that's that's kind of the best part of
the report. Small Kink's still around the mutton. Snappers are funky,
you know. They first off, they're smart. You know, snappers are.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
One of the smartest fish in the ocean.

Speaker 6 (08:49):
So sure when they bite, they bite, and we have
to let them go now under eighteen inches, so we're
real diligent with that.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
We use we use sequelizers to get.

Speaker 6 (08:58):
Them down right and and do the right thing letting
them go. And there's times they're biting really good. So
uh that macrorel on the way out, Spanish macrol on
the way out have been there under every trip is
the best time the fish for.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
For macro off. Miami's on the outgoing tide with mackerels,
but we can't come back.

Speaker 4 (09:17):
Joe, holy mackerel. I bet that was a good line there, man,
Holy mackrel.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
So we had to do it. Gee, I wish I
thought of that. Yeah, so adience, So Joe.

Speaker 6 (09:27):
We also I got out a sixty footer there with
with a couple of live wells.

Speaker 1 (09:30):
We do a lot of specialty trips.

Speaker 6 (09:32):
A ten twelve hour trip schedule today and I canceled
it because the weather puffed up. And the truth is
these are these are field good trips and to go
out there and get your butt beat pretty hard. You
got to have the most hardcore dudes. We've got them.
We just didn't have enough of lined up for this trip,
so so we killed it but put them off till
next week. But we are at the end of group

(09:53):
of season. The next next year, when it opens in May,
there's gonna be some major changes in the regulations. So
this next three or four days the end of the
year for going out and catching I believe more than
one group or for boat, So it's gonna it's gonna
change a lot. So if any of you guys have thoughts,
you may have to push it a little bit to
get out there try to catch them, especially over our
coast in state federal waters.

Speaker 4 (10:16):
All right, when we're gonna rock the clock here shortly,
But last question before he goes is Joe Johnson's our
beatle king this morning? What was what was your favorite
Beatles saw ever?

Speaker 1 (10:23):
Do you think you know?

Speaker 6 (10:25):
I remember walking to this to the I think it
was a Jefferson store in North Miami.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
Had to walk like three miles a.

Speaker 6 (10:33):
Bike and I bought and I bought the forty five,
and I remember clearly. I think I was in seventh
grade or what but I bought Help, the record Help,
and I think it was like sixty cents, and I
walked like six frigid miles to go buy this this
one record.

Speaker 1 (10:49):
You know, I don't remember what it was, but I
remember doing it. That so describes what this show needs
a Lotah, you know what you resonate?

Speaker 3 (10:58):
Do you remember Gold Triangle?

Speaker 1 (11:00):
Yeah? Yeah, I hit. I hit some albums under this
table that they had on sale, and I ran home
and got some money and came back and but.

Speaker 4 (11:07):
No, you probably shoplifted.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
Well you know you can't shoplift album Okay, nowadays you
can barely steal an MP three. How would you know, Joe, Well,
how would you know that I.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
Went home to get money a twelve year old kid?

Speaker 1 (11:21):
Right? Okay? Wait, god, did you make money?

Speaker 3 (11:23):
Joel Lawns brother? Three bucks a lot?

Speaker 1 (11:28):
He was?

Speaker 4 (11:29):
He was more and more than Lawns. It was somebody
somebody else, green and bags. But anyway, I.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
Was pitching Miami Harold newspapers, you know, yeah, I was.

Speaker 3 (11:36):
I used to deliver the guide.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
The guy was the supplemented it, and people would stop
me on my bike and I said, don't never leave
that paper in my yard. Again.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
So that i'd leave too.

Speaker 4 (11:46):

Speaker 3 (18:32):
Because he that's him in the order and they put
it between your knees.

Speaker 1 (18:36):
Yeah it's a light or so fuck. We just pulled
movie clips that random that were had to do with
the food, food, anything having to do with it. Of course,
the Beatles thing Beatle brought you said thirty three years ago.
This is a song that could be an ocean tune
for the Beatles. You know, let's fall McCartney, but it's uh,
hands across the water. Yeah, right right, So this is

(18:58):
a good good theme too for the six ten.

Speaker 4 (19:01):
There was ever a battle bad Beetles song in my life.
I don't think I ever felt on.

Speaker 1 (19:04):
I never liked yeah because it brought back a memory,
even if it wasn't your favorite song. It's like, oh
I remember where I was.

Speaker 4 (19:10):
Well as you remind us. One guy inlined one of
the very short temper is holding for us to bring
him on. They'll get him angry.

Speaker 1 (19:19):
Piece and love, piece and love.

Speaker 4 (19:30):
Joe Hector is not here.

Speaker 1 (19:32):
What happened with Joe?

Speaker 4 (19:34):
He's up in Joysy with his family man, you know,
as family something.

Speaker 1 (19:40):
That's not a legitimate excuse. I don't get that, okay,
Joe Johnson.

Speaker 4 (19:45):
Alan's rema, Alan.

Speaker 1 (19:46):
Joe, we only have Joe is gone because I'm also Joe. Yeah,
so I get credit for being half.

Speaker 21 (19:54):
But you're not. You're not sounding like him. I don't
hear that very soft voice.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
Say, Joe has a soft voice. I have a soft voice.

Speaker 4 (20:03):
No, I don't like to pick on us. One week,
it'st me. One week is Joe. He thought he's just
taking shots everybody.

Speaker 1 (20:10):
I can take it, Okay, Yeah, I don't pick on anybody.
I'm very mellow this.

Speaker 21 (20:15):
It's been the holidays I've been I took my course,
you know, so I'm not going to pick on anybody.

Speaker 1 (20:22):
I'm going to be very nice today. Well, we're glad
to have this sweet out on the show this morning. Out.

Speaker 4 (20:27):
So you've been dealing with some health issues. Joey's having
titanium knees put in. He's got a brand new shoulder,
he's got going on a brand new wrist. He's been
like the bionic man.

Speaker 1 (20:36):
Congratulation.

Speaker 4 (20:38):
O man, things break down like a motor you know.

Speaker 21 (20:41):
I don't like that remark about getting older stuff. But anyway, anyhow,
I still were. I actually got out. I actually got
out to fish this week a few days. Uh nice
got in the water the canals.

Speaker 1 (20:55):
Fishing is I kind of swapped off from.

Speaker 21 (20:58):
Fishing the Everglades of fishing the City Canal as a
little bit more because they tend to be a little
bit more consistent when the water's cooled down.

Speaker 1 (21:04):
And even though we've been warm up.

Speaker 21 (21:05):
The last couple of days, it takes a while beforeth
water starts to warm back up again. It doesn't react
the same way as the air does. So, but the
bite's been below the surface. We need to catch some
nice peacocks called a nice snoke earlier in the week.
I actually caught a couple of snoke earlier in the week,
and one with seven pounds, which is a pretty good one.
That was a year old stomping grounds over there over

(21:26):
there by the airport, yep. And uh, that's that's been
my best spot. And it's also easier for to get
on and off the boat, to be honce you, because
they got a dock where I can put the boat
in along the ramp and I can I can jump
in the boat. I'm still not totally one, but I
can still get out and get people on fish.

Speaker 1 (21:44):
And that's that's nice to get outside again.

Speaker 4 (21:47):
So I brought a little tiny rode this morning to
turn Joe Johnson into more fishing expertise in his life.

Speaker 1 (21:53):
And I've got this rod. Joey it's about maybe two
feet long.

Speaker 4 (21:57):
And the later on, when the sun comes up, we're
going to take this little ride here, which I'll show
on a Facebook stream. Right, and we got these wieners. Okay,
you're gonna take this hook and you know, hook into
your wiener. Okay, yeah, you put the hook into your wiener. Okay,
and then we're gonna put out and see what bites
your wiener.

Speaker 3 (22:14):
Oh, wieners, no losers.

Speaker 1 (22:15):
Okay, your house this morning. Just want to enjoy. I don't, okay,
but we got it four years. But just in case,
I just I used to fish at snowed on sixty
eighth in the old colored Road.

Speaker 4 (22:30):
Only two fishes cat your life, Joe. I see a
photo over and over again.

Speaker 3 (22:33):
You see with the two week look.

Speaker 1 (22:35):
They were in the belch puff for like nine weeks. Man,
well like great, got them in the freezer. God, that's
something like that. You don't want to get give it back, yes, sir,
don't don't. Don't let him get you about the the
only fish picture you got.

Speaker 21 (22:48):
We see the same picture of him over and over
and over holding I don't even I forget what he
called them, Julio.

Speaker 4 (22:55):
Or they've all damn.

Speaker 21 (22:59):
Why Yeah, the same thing. Yeah, yeah, he catches them
over and over and over. So really it's the same
picture anyway. So don't don't feel bad when he tried
to come at you with that kind of crap.

Speaker 4 (23:11):
You're done, have a nice day. We'll talk to you
laterbody here, you're right of here, all right. So a
couple of Questionsory, man, the water levels of the glade
still higher? Theyre coming down? Or what's happening out there?

Speaker 21 (23:21):
They're coming down? And I suspect here fairly soon we're
going to start getting onto a really big bite out
there too. It gets to the third level, it drives
all the fish out of the back areas of the swamps,
and the canals will catch on literally on fire with
the fishing. And I'm looking forward to that because that's
when the sky has become.

Speaker 1 (23:40):
Heroes all the time. People catch fish all day long.
You have a question for big al Oh, what's your
best best fishes? But you said near the airport, didn't
nothing south of that? Or what?

Speaker 21 (23:51):
No, Well, the airport I was talking about really isn't
Miami Airport. And people, you know, every time I used
to say I'm fishing by the airport. They all assumed
I was fishing by Miami Airport.

Speaker 1 (24:01):
I was not.

Speaker 21 (24:01):
I was sitting at a secret airport, which Eric is
not in that say, And it's just like, oh.

Speaker 1 (24:08):
Yes, sure, yeah, really it could be for dale, could
be No, you're you're we have a clock to watch.
We can't guess the name of the lake for eight
hours here anyway, Here we go, here we go with
the clock deal again. I I you know, I don't

(24:31):
know what to do with you. Eric, You're getting you're
getting cantankerous.

Speaker 4 (24:33):
And that's what they paid me buildable money for is
to stay on time here pitthead.

Speaker 5 (24:38):
Okay, it's still a long time. You're still on time.
You doesn't want to give up the goods here? What
what airport is this?

Speaker 4 (24:44):
Man?

Speaker 1 (24:48):
I cannot remember.

Speaker 5 (24:49):
There's no water around Tammiami Airport.

Speaker 3 (24:51):
Okay, there's not even a canal somewhere.

Speaker 4 (24:54):
No, this geriatric bill we brought you by. Jared's all out.
We got a rock many you feel about Okay.

Speaker 21 (25:01):
I'm feeling okay now it's it's still sore, but.

Speaker 1 (25:04):
I got I'm happy to get out. And if anybody
wants to go out fishing, I got a fair amount
of openings. I am booked up.

Speaker 21 (25:10):
I got some days booked up next week and then
the week after I'm very busy.

Speaker 3 (25:13):
Maybe come and bring his wieners. I may bring my
small wieners.

Speaker 1 (25:18):
Joe.

Speaker 21 (25:18):
Yeah, talking about coming coming fishing with me for years
and that's never happened.

Speaker 1 (25:23):
If you recall if you were called did happen one time?

Speaker 4 (25:26):
Twelve years ago, we've I've booked you on your boat.
You took me out for a day, okay, and we
caught fish like crazy. So I watched you in action.
You do have cred, dude, Okay, seriously.

Speaker 3 (25:35):
Cut to the video and that we have the video
thereic they were, it was, there's.

Speaker 4 (25:41):
No camera phones, but there's no video.

Speaker 3 (25:42):
Then that's how.

Speaker 4 (25:45):
Listen, man. I wish you're very happy to your buddy
feel better and get on your feet and to get
back down. So coming up here next. Boucher Smith gave
me a call a couple nights ago, and so Eric
you o Van. I've been doing a show with him
for eighteen years.

Speaker 3 (26:01):
He's a rock on the show.

Speaker 1 (26:02):

Did you fight that thing back in the oldies? Back
that saw it fit?

Speaker 5 (30:38):
And it was kind of know, what's what's going on
with bouncer here?

Speaker 1 (30:42):
That was so freaking great. Man. Let's forget the legend. Joe,
you know Boucher from doing the show right, I'm in
Oh my brother Captain Boucher, Good morning, my friend. How
are you?

Speaker 25 (30:56):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (30:56):
He retired ten minutes ago.

Speaker 1 (30:58):
He's not picking up.

Speaker 4 (30:59):
Okay, that's gonna be a fun way to say goodbye
to his last show. He's all right, Uh, Jeff, just
keep trying them. If you get a man, just give me.
Hollered at the headphones were a live show. We don't
really you don't care if you busted. We just do
things in a flyer anyway. Somo going for Joe Johnson
is here, host of Beatle Brunch many many, many thousands
of years on magic. I'll let two point seven and

(31:21):
let's go back to this thing about who really broke
up the Beatles? Man was Yoko the one that did it?
Or not?

Speaker 3 (31:26):
She gets a lot of hassle for it, but not really.

Speaker 1 (31:29):
They wanted to hate. They went from being teenagers together
to being men with kids and wanted to raise families
and going in the studio and recording music wasn't really
John's thing, and so they he wanted to do bagism
and peace and planted. Well he was in a smoking
weed and herod and LSD. He was just getting off.

Speaker 3 (31:50):
But look at it, except for the how it ended
for him.

Speaker 1 (31:52):
They they came back, and Paul says, you know, one
of the nicest conversations I had at the end was
with John just a couple of days before he died
the day of and he said, we were talking about bacon,
bread and our kids and all that. No Beatles, nothing,
And even at the time he did that concert with
Elton John, he kind of thought, you know, that felt
pretty good.

Speaker 3 (32:12):
I could maybe do that again.

Speaker 4 (32:13):
That's amazing joy to think about the Beatles because they
really changed the entire course of music when they came
to this country. I mean they changed rock and roll,
changed everything. Poor Elvis is like going, what, man, what
happened here?

Speaker 1 (32:25):
Mama? He wanted to Manue Nixon. I found a hound dog,
Get the hell out of here. Who are those guys?

Speaker 5 (32:30):
Alvis did pretty good for himself.

Speaker 1 (32:32):
He did good.

Speaker 4 (32:32):
What I'm saying, The Elvis thing was hot, and then
the Beatles came in and everything changed.

Speaker 1 (32:37):
Well, the Beatles blamed it on Elvis making movies, and
I mean going in the army and making movies. He said,
after he lost the edge of being you know, a
heartbreak hotel and going to these you know sappy, love
me tender films with made up scripts.

Speaker 4 (32:51):
Yeah, and they did a couple of films. That's a
couple of Beatle films. Back in the day. They were
always the best, you know, I mean, yeah, heart right.

Speaker 1 (32:58):
Yeah. And then Help and Matt a Mystery Tour Yellow Submarine.

Speaker 4 (33:01):
Because the camera angle alone would have you a double
y ringo's nose and that that frame, you know what
I mean, kill off, roll up this way.

Speaker 3 (33:14):
This was a really hard movie to take in, but
years ago, sure, yeah, man, here's go By.

Speaker 1 (33:19):
You learn to love it because you see the John
playing doing the walrus and you see videos for uh,
all the songs.

Speaker 4 (33:26):
On that that very cool stuff. I guess we're still
a boucher, Jeff, Is that correct? He's not as small,
No boucher, no bouncer. Okay, we'll just move ahead and
just say.

Speaker 3 (33:38):
Give me the bouncer story.

Speaker 4 (33:39):
What's he known for anyway? Boucher Smith is a legend.
He fished It's called Boucher's Dusky thirty three for decades.
Was out of out of Mighty Beach Breda actually right
behind Mantis is where he used to be done, and
he took people fishing all the time. He always caught
fish just one of the greatest fishermen in the world.

Speaker 2 (33:58):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (33:58):
His mate was called or named Aby Raymond, who's now
gone off and opened his own charter business. Okay, but
Bouncer is just a guy who knows how to catch
fish and every which way. As Wayne cont alluded to,
those two guys are buddy buddy for a lot of years,
and he goes way, way way back. So legendary guy.
Gonna miss him. I just wish we had him on
the phone. I'm not sure what happened this morning to him,

(34:19):
but there was a chance to have the big Swan song.
And he's no longer going to be with the program,
so program changes. Next weekend, Wayne conn will be at
six point thirty and we will show and move on.

Speaker 1 (34:31):
Okay, well maybe he'll call in then. Maybe maybe he will.

Speaker 3 (34:35):
I don't know, Bouncer, we miss you man. If you
watch him, please go on.

Speaker 4 (34:38):
I mean I could talk beetle trivia the entire show
and just blow fishing as well, because I'm I'm just a.

Speaker 1 (34:41):
Big Oh Jim is ready? Okay, good, So our dive
man is here, Joe, Yeah, Jim Matthew's.

Speaker 3 (34:48):
A diver of course. Oh, I see him on Facebook
all the time.

Speaker 1 (34:52):
A lot of hes. He likes to sneak up under
sleeping group.

Speaker 4 (34:56):
Yeah, and they're just taking a snooze, maybe just had
a bite to eat. They're just relaxed and wait for
that meal will settle and I'll go up on behind
him with a spear gun.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
I put a big ass spear.

Speaker 4 (35:08):
Right through their freaking brain hole.

Speaker 3 (35:10):
Wow. Yeah, how mean is that? That's pretty mean?

Speaker 4 (35:14):
But they're damn tasty. Once they're on your plate, I
forget about the brain hole spear. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (35:18):
Jim Matthey, good morning, buddy, Hey.

Speaker 2 (35:21):
Man, Hey Eric, how.

Speaker 7 (35:23):
Are you everything good?

Speaker 1 (35:24):
You know? Joe Johnson, Joe, Jim, Jim, Joe, you.

Speaker 7 (35:27):
Know Joe, Yeah, Wow, what the heck? Awesome, awesome, Listen.
I do want to caution Joe really quickly, though, do
not believe everything that you see or hear on social media. Okay, uh,
you know, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (35:43):
Jimmy, I see you hauling in all kinds of.

Speaker 4 (35:45):
Me like that photo I used of you as we're
gonna have a cartoon character lobster suit.

Speaker 7 (35:50):
Yeah you know, you know, yeah, yeah, well you know,
and and of course you know, everybody's complimenting me on
my tail.

Speaker 3 (35:57):
You know, Jimmy, maybe you.

Speaker 1 (36:00):
Show up with a with an ice bugget full of
lobster tales, we'd be more your friend.

Speaker 4 (36:04):
He actually, yeah, yeah, what's going on?

Speaker 7 (36:13):
Absolutely gorgeous, gorgeous conditions. Top side, of course, been a
little bumpy, but not bad, you know, tolerable. Two to three.
I think this weekend is kind of kind of being
sort of a wash out. I'm not planning to go out,
but I am planning to go out Monday and Tuesday
because guess what, no more grouper, No more grouper.

Speaker 1 (36:35):
Yes, yes, let them live, God let them, let them,
let them live and prosper. Thank you, spot and and
and we did.

Speaker 7 (36:45):
We did spear a nice red grouper the other day.
And I'll be I'll be eating that red grouper tonight.

Speaker 1 (36:51):
Okay, yeah, a freaking bone there you go, do you need?

Speaker 7 (37:00):
Of course, I'll be at the fish shack. I'll be
at the fish shack and Lighthouse Point and they cook
your cook your fish.

Speaker 1 (37:06):
So that wait, wait, so you plug the fish shack,
you get like, where's the location of that location?

Speaker 7 (37:15):
Oh, it's a great place. And you know they're really
good that every everybody goes in there brings their catch
and they cook it up. I will also bring some
lobster tail because we have some friends coming into town
from Toronto.

Speaker 8 (37:27):
So yeah, you know if I bring if I bring
my ex will they cook her.

Speaker 1 (37:33):
Well.

Speaker 3 (37:33):
Now that you put it down.

Speaker 1 (37:36):
Half cars of the driveway by.

Speaker 7 (37:39):
Joe, you have three choices.

Speaker 1 (37:41):
You know.

Speaker 7 (37:41):
You you may want it fried, blacken or grilled, whichever way.

Speaker 1 (37:48):
All rights of spiritis GYM.

Speaker 7 (37:54):
Seventy. Yeah. Actually, you know, we're still finding a ton
of shorts. That's the that's the message right now. And
you know it's funny. We pretty much stayed in the
second reef and we've been actually hitting that pretty hard
from everything down to Fort Lauderdale all the way on
up to Boca Ish and doing well on the second

(38:14):
reef in the thirty five to forty five foot range.
Not too bad, not too bad. But you know, you
actually look at an option and go, oh man, it
looks all right. You grab him and then you measure
him and he's just short. So you've got to really
measure him up with the measuring stick. That's the you know,
the measuring You got to really make sure that you

(38:35):
measure him up. That's the key. Right now.

Speaker 3 (38:37):
Do you go out for mini lobster season.

Speaker 7 (38:41):
No, No, locally, I do mini season yere because we
do pretty well and we can get our double limit
here of instead of six per person we're allowed in Broward,
we're allowed twelve per person. So it's sort of a
tradition for the Chief He crew to you know, get
out there on mini seasons. So yeah, we've we've done
that historically for god close to thirty years, I guess,

(39:04):
maybe more. I don't know, it's as long as it's
been around.

Speaker 1 (39:08):
Life is underwater. I don't mean your foot, I don't
mean your mortgage, Like what what percentage of your life
have you spent below the ways?

Speaker 7 (39:19):
You know, I'm probably two to three days a week maybe,
you know, just hey, and in the winter time you
have to pick your days because first of all, you know,
we get these fronts come on through and it gets
a little ugly out there, but the west wind, the
west wind lays it down. And I think the key
this week was the visibility has been incredible. I mean literally,

(39:43):
we're jumping in the water and it's fifty foot of
visibility all the way down, you know, top to bottom visibility.
Crystal crystal clear because we're not we're not having any
rain or runoff and they're not dumping the lake. So
the water out front has been really, really nice. So
if you can tolerate that Chili's seventy eight degree water temperature.

Speaker 1 (40:04):
Yeah, when your whale shark goes into a guppy pretty much,
you know, we.

Speaker 7 (40:13):
Can't be talking about this kind of stuff.

Speaker 1 (40:16):
Too early for this, I'm shriek it's gonna be.

Speaker 7 (40:22):
I do have a report from one one of my buddies.
Dove up there in Jupiter and she was doing, uh,
you know, diving the wall real nice gentle north current.
Good visibility up there as well, and she speared a
nice Couberra snapper.

Speaker 30 (40:42):
Yeah, you know, was just kind of hanging on the
wall and she was like, see the fish, shoot the fish.

Speaker 7 (40:53):
And that was really good, uh, because they will jump
into the wall if you approach them. And also a
black grouper are pretty cagy. We've been catching, you know,
getting a few here and there on the black coopers,
but not this week. This week was a red grouper.
That was our excitement. And then the other thing a

(41:13):
little different. So we did some second reef stuff that
was good and then we said, you know, let's go
on out to the third reef. We hadn't got our
limited lobster, so we said, all right, let's And this
is a big tip here, so things are moving around.
The walls are where the third reef is off of
Fort Lauderdale. So the walls are really pretty on the

(41:33):
west facing walls, and they're fifty foot at the top,
sixty five at the bottom, and then to the west
you'll have some almost a false reef that will only
be maybe three four feet tall, but in between is sand,
right about one hundred foot of sand in between this
false reef and the wall. I'm trying to describe it.

(41:56):
So the wall, A lot of times you will not
find lobster in the wall. They just don't seem to
hang there. I think a lot of people dive it.
It's pretty stuff, a lot of fish, a lot of fish.
And then but what I did the other day was
I went out in between the wall and I was
cruising north, really really nice, and there's these like little
three foot around I mean maybe six inch high, these

(42:20):
little little rocks and stuff, and sure as heck, you
got to kind of look and oh, look, there's there's
a couple of little antennas. They get themselves buried in
these little like little outcroppings almost and it's really kind
of cool. Now sometimes they're difficult because they get themselves
buried in there. Pretty good. But yeah, I was I
was successful. I got my limit out there and that

(42:41):
little stuff very very you know, just pick them away here,
one here, up, one there, one there, one there. Pretty good.
It was nice.

Speaker 4 (42:49):

Speaker 1 (01:04:57):
Our great bud Joe John. So great to be here, man.
I remember making you laugh many times, you character.

Speaker 4 (01:05:05):
We were in a studio time before we would get
to a laugh. We just look at you and you
look at me. I still look at me, man, because
we were just we just could stop laughing. It was
like the laugh track.

Speaker 1 (01:05:14):
Man.

Speaker 3 (01:05:14):
Nowadays they'd go back and cut that out and then
put it on the show.

Speaker 1 (01:05:17):
Thank you very much.

Speaker 4 (01:05:18):
Benny first, I think we have Ben, Thank you very much.
Who may be on the skype feed and coming in
for Jerseys? All right, Steve it Benny first? Oh, Betty first? Okay, okay,
So Benny had a great Christmas party Joe, which I
couldn't attend. I was very very ill. Did you have
the COVID I had? I think I have the clap anyway.

(01:05:40):
So anyway, Benny is on line one. Benny, good morning, Bro.
Hey mister, is that Eric, Yes, that's me.

Speaker 1 (01:05:51):
That's me, Benny.

Speaker 4 (01:05:52):
I apologize for not seeing you at the party, but
I saw the Facebook street Andy.

Speaker 5 (01:05:57):
I'm gonna try to get to your party.

Speaker 1 (01:05:59):
She had had just everybody whose mother was at his party.

Speaker 4 (01:06:02):
Joe, and I mean, Betty, your price table was just
insanely loaded.

Speaker 1 (01:06:07):
Man, holy mackerel. What kind of prize, Booty.

Speaker 38 (01:06:12):
Yeah, we had a lot of support from the local
fishing community.

Speaker 1 (01:06:16):
Yeah, that was a pretty good raffle.

Speaker 4 (01:06:19):
It was outstanding, and you gave away who would remember
whoever won that really cool mount from Grave Taxis Army
you were giving up?

Speaker 38 (01:06:26):
Yeah, Yeah, Brandon O'Dell one of h I met him
through Joe's extreme kayak fishing tournaments and Brandon became a
pretty good friend. He's always supported our company. And yeah,
he was at the Christmas party and won himself a
graze Mahi Mahie fish mount.

Speaker 1 (01:06:43):
Nice man, Joe Johnson, Betty, Betty, Joe.

Speaker 3 (01:06:47):
But Benny, good to see Bro. Thanks for being on
the show.

Speaker 1 (01:06:50):
Joe.

Speaker 4 (01:06:51):
So Betty's fishing charters. She's got a very successful fishing
group with two boats and some really great mates and captains.
Whatever else. Betty, So have you been out this week?
The bot's got out at all? Yeah, yeah, the boat's
been going out. Man, We've been rocking and rolling.

Speaker 38 (01:07:07):
It's been a very very busy week for us. The
bite has been a little tough though we've been grinding
it out. Every day has been a little different. There
hasn't been much of a pattern going behind everything. I'd
say the biggest pattern would be kingfish are going to
be a good backup plan in shallow, but there's been
some random, you know, random wahoo's around. Still a few

(01:07:29):
random mahis that are all pretty big. The sailfish are
not really hearing big numbers this week. Just been tough,
trying to pick at one or two here and there.
But shark fishing this week was a good topic. We've
definitely been using shark fishing as at.

Speaker 1 (01:07:46):
Get a lot of snowbirds that want to go out.
Where do you take them?

Speaker 38 (01:07:49):
Yeah, yeah, we've been having a lot of snowbirds, a
lot of Canadians just between this winter break here we
get a lot of people traveling for the holidays, and when.

Speaker 1 (01:07:57):
People are traveling our phone's busier than you. Well, yeah, man,
those Canadians ever say to you passed passed me the rod?
A you got any bait? A?

Speaker 5 (01:08:06):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (01:08:06):
Where we're going? A? What kind of fish is that? A?
What does the alphabet start with?

Speaker 39 (01:08:11):
Hey?

Speaker 1 (01:08:15):
Yeah, there's soda pop a yeah. Whatever.

Speaker 4 (01:08:18):
So, Benny, you've got a great thing going on, bro,
And I wanted to say again, I apologize that I've
seen you at the party, but I've been I've been
all week long, dude in bed for seven days with
some kind of a virus influenza thing. So it's amazing
on my asses even here today. But question for you, Benny,
have you ever been a Beatle fan on your your days?

Speaker 1 (01:08:38):
No? No, no, not there he's singing, Hey right there
see the younger demographic like like like Sean said, not
really me.

Speaker 4 (01:08:46):
I was in more of the you know nineties stuff,
you know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (01:08:48):
Yeah? Yeah, Well listen, McCartney just wrapped up his Got
Back tour and Ringo came up on stage and one
of the Rolling Stones, and so yeah, it's still going
for the folks that buy the tickets. Very cool.

Speaker 38 (01:09:00):
A few years back I got my mom some tickets
to see Paul McCartney.

Speaker 1 (01:09:04):
That was maybe eight to ten years ago, though, yeah, yeah,
that's a nice son. Man.

Speaker 4 (01:09:08):
Well, Betty, thanks so much bro for having us being
on a program with us by the way, and the
happy new year, having a successful twenty twenty five, and
just thanks for beeting the program.

Speaker 25 (01:09:17):
Man.

Speaker 1 (01:09:17):
You're a great captain. We appreciate you. Man.

Speaker 35 (01:09:20):
You guys too.

Speaker 38 (01:09:20):
I appreciate you'all have me every week and looking forward
to another year in twenty twenty five.

Speaker 1 (01:09:24):
You got it, all right? Do we have votes?

Speaker 5 (01:09:27):
Break early?

Speaker 4 (01:09:28):
Oh no, well you're not doing Joe now, No, no,
we're doing Joe.

Speaker 5 (01:09:31):
To reset a computer with all the madness.

Speaker 4 (01:09:33):
All right, well we sent the computer reset our brain.
This show has been just one on the fly. But
you know what, we don't skip a beat, man, something
doesn't work, we go right to the next thing.

Speaker 3 (01:09:41):
We hit the next one.

Speaker 4 (01:09:42):
We learned something Joe on radio Stevens does this's we're
all radio guys that you know. When things happen, Man,
you gotta be like thinking instantaneously to cover your ass,
because there's something called you can't have dead air and
radio right exactly, you know what I mean? So if
a CD starts skipping. You bring down the pot and
you start talking mixed up it up on the fly
man and.

Speaker 1 (01:10:01):
You're trying to change out the CD while you're talking.
Flip the people here and click click and your prayer
like please play. You know those first CD players, they
take like twenty seconds for it to finally go.

Speaker 4 (01:10:12):
Wid up, get warmed up. Yeah, we'll come back and
continue with the program. Door from Broward County come up
in the program. We've got Deb Dale coming up. Our
great friend Deb. Dev's great. We have Jay Gray Warren
who's a phenomenal weather cast.

Speaker 1 (01:10:25):

Speaker 3 (01:16:26):
Good to have you on the show. What you got?

Speaker 4 (01:16:28):
Let me take some enormous being very kind of you,
okay because normally when he's talking to me and Joe,
he treats us like pretty much a chump bag.

Speaker 1 (01:16:34):
Yeah yeah, yeah, pretty much. Anyway, Uh, Norm, what's happening
in your world, buddy boy?

Speaker 23 (01:16:41):
Well?

Speaker 33 (01:16:41):
Uh, not much. This week has not been. This week
has not been all that great. It's been it's been
fairly slow.

Speaker 41 (01:16:51):
Uh, there's been some notable uh some notable things kind
of going on, but just kind of outer friends stuff.

Speaker 33 (01:17:00):
Want to give a shot to my boy Teddy Van
up in Pointon caught a blue.

Speaker 41 (01:17:04):
Marlin trolling on the plane. Yep, yeah, wow, yep. Nice fish. Yeah.

Speaker 33 (01:17:16):
I know it's not I know it's not bowered, but
I had to give a shout.

Speaker 1 (01:17:18):
Out to him.

Speaker 41 (01:17:19):
Captain Jeff Boggio.

Speaker 33 (01:17:24):
Uh, caught a few tarpin this week, not too many.

Speaker 42 (01:17:28):
Uh.

Speaker 33 (01:17:29):
One fish was pretty big, like one hundred and fifty pounds.

Speaker 41 (01:17:32):
But the tarboro fish is still pretty slow right now
that water temperature's really dropped.

Speaker 25 (01:17:37):
Uh.

Speaker 41 (01:17:37):
Incidentally, he was off shore looking for tarpin down the beach.
He was out in thirteen feet of water.

Speaker 7 (01:17:44):
Uh.

Speaker 33 (01:17:44):
They were looking to throw the fly at possibly some traveling.

Speaker 41 (01:17:47):
Fish that were moving the area, and they saw a
bunch of ballet who was getting showered in thirteen feet
of water. Then it turned out to be a pack
of salefish on top of on top of the yeah,
right on top of the ballot.

Speaker 33 (01:18:01):
Who's and Uh. They got the.

Speaker 41 (01:18:04):
Fly right out and made some shots the fly. The
sails started to follow the fly, and then my Maii
jumped in there and took his fly out from in
front of the sailfish in thirteen feet of water.

Speaker 4 (01:18:17):
That's thirteen feet of water, Joe. These fish are normally
way off shore, man, and the one hundred feet to
two and three feet of water, that's just say thirteen feet.
Norman's insane, bro, But I think you said.

Speaker 1 (01:18:30):
Fish.

Speaker 41 (01:18:31):
Yeah, yeah, they'll do that in the winter time when
when the valley has really starts to stack up on
the reefs. And that's what's happening right now. I personally
saw a whole bunch of cero mackerels showering valley. Who's
so really, I mean, if if you can get live ballet,
who's you know how to catch them?

Speaker 33 (01:18:50):
Uh? You know, that's a really good that's a really good.

Speaker 41 (01:18:52):
Way to go this time of the year. Uh, if
the conditions and you can get the bait, you know.
So that's that's the trick right now, now, I think personally. Otherwise,
the fishing has been pretty slow. A few sailfish offshore,
a few mahi mahi, a smattering of wahoo here and there,

(01:19:13):
a couple of black men too.

Speaker 33 (01:19:15):
Otherwise, not really all that great fishing.

Speaker 1 (01:19:18):
It's just yeah, dormstock guy, but yeah, yeah, no, that's it. Okay.

Speaker 4 (01:19:24):
Were you a Beatle fan back in the day? Joe
Johnson all the way, case you don't know, is a
host of a show called beatle Brush for thirty three years.
It's all about Beatles. He's met Paul the entire band
whatever else. Were you a Beatle fan back in your
younger days?

Speaker 33 (01:19:37):
Yeah, sort of there.

Speaker 1 (01:19:39):
I mean, how do you not like the Beatles?

Speaker 30 (01:19:41):
I don't know.

Speaker 43 (01:19:42):
I mean there was they were such innovators, you know,
and I mean their music was just, you know, so
far ahead of everybody else at the time. But you know, incidentally, Joe, uh,
there were three bands uh at the time of the
Beatles that when they.

Speaker 1 (01:19:59):
Came out during Beatlemania.

Speaker 42 (01:20:01):
That was really kind of interesting that the three bands,
it was the Rolling Stones, Beatles, and they kind of
played off of each other.

Speaker 33 (01:20:07):
And then there was at a little bit lesser known band,
uh but still in the rock and roll Hall of
Fame nonetheless called the Love.

Speaker 42 (01:20:14):
And Spoonful guys. Yeah, yeah, right exactly. And one of
the one of the Love and Spoonful uh, the bass guitarists, uh,
fellow by the name of Steve Boone.

Speaker 44 (01:20:34):
He well, he used to live here and South and
I used to actually do historical tours with him back
in the nineties and it was really yeah, and and
we used to do it on the water taxis and
it was really funny.

Speaker 33 (01:20:51):
As I met this guy, we were doing historical tours.

Speaker 35 (01:20:54):
And uh, he says, h oh yeah, he says, uh,
you know, uh, I only do this this.

Speaker 42 (01:21:00):
Historical stuff part time because I got a band. I'm like, oh, yeah,
what's the bend? Because Loving Spoonful really man, you.

Speaker 1 (01:21:09):
Know, they played on the cruises that I host, and
they put together the Love and Spoonful again, not with
John Sebastian but with Steve Boone and other musicians, and
they tour and they play and there they sound fantastic.
So still going today.

Speaker 4 (01:21:21):
I want to ask him what he does those historical
cruises in the morning. Does he up on a batlego?
It's a beautiful morning. That's the Rascals. My bad wrong band,
good idea of a wrong band. Anyway, Norma, have a
great weekend. And by the way, man, happy twenty twenty
five maybe a hell of a lot better than twenty
twenty four for you, bro and all this.

Speaker 1 (01:21:41):
You know what I mean? It was rough?

Speaker 33 (01:21:43):
Yeah, hear to your two guys.

Speaker 4 (01:21:45):
It was rough man. Thank you to arm so much, buddy.
We'll see it in the brand new year.

Speaker 1 (01:21:48):
Okay. So, Joe, you have a guy named Johnny Stabille
on the line. He's one of these younger on the.

Speaker 2 (01:21:55):
We have kills, Johnny.

Speaker 4 (01:21:57):
This guy, for his age, knows more by fishing than
I can ever tell you.

Speaker 3 (01:22:02):
Oh, fish stories, want to hear him.

Speaker 1 (01:22:04):
He's got him bit.

Speaker 4 (01:22:05):
He's a fresh water guy, tarporn guy, you name a
guy gets the all there, Johnny. Good morning, Buddy, Good
morning guys.

Speaker 1 (01:22:11):
How y'all doing doing well?

Speaker 4 (01:22:13):
So Johnny stabil Joe Johnson, Johnny stabil Joe Joe job anyway, Johnny,
So what's happening in your world?

Speaker 1 (01:22:19):
Man? What's going on? Buddy?

Speaker 5 (01:22:21):
You know it was it was a good week.

Speaker 33 (01:22:24):
This week.

Speaker 36 (01:22:25):
We had a couple of slow days and we had
a couple of really good days, and then obviously we
took a couple of days off for Christmas.

Speaker 33 (01:22:30):
So it was just just awesome.

Speaker 36 (01:22:34):
Lot of big peacocks showing up. Now they're getting ready
for their spawn, so you know you're gonna see lots
and lots of big peacocks. Big females show up, and
you know, the water temperature is still cold, it's still
in the it's still in the sixties and seventies, depending
on you know, day to day. But if you go

(01:22:54):
on one of those days where the water's in the
seventies or at least gets into the seventies by the
end of the day, you can have an absolute magical day.

Speaker 1 (01:23:02):
And it's all about that water temperature.

Speaker 4 (01:23:06):
Water temperature, Joe, It fishing is everything, buddy. Yeah, if
it changes even a degree or two, man, it could
changed the entire fishing scheme, you know what I mean
for sure?

Speaker 1 (01:23:15):
Yeah, yeah, So, I mean that's key.

Speaker 4 (01:23:18):
So besides that, I was talking to Alex Rubber earlier,
Johnny about water levels dropping down. You see things kind
of like settle down down after all that rain we
had Forever and.

Speaker 36 (01:23:26):
Ever Yeah, you know, the Everglades level is still high
out there from all that rain. But they're actually catching
a good amount of fish on live mate. The artificial
game is, you know, it's not as good as it
should be, but you can still go out and get them.
It just you're going to struggle a little bit more
than fishing live bait, which I would rather catch. You know,

(01:23:48):
One peacock on artificial than catch ten on live bait.
So that's just my mentality, and I hope that we
have kind of you know, it's been a really wet year.
You know, we've had and tons of rain this year,
and hopefully, you know, by spring it kind of slows
down and we go into a little bit of a
drought just so the Everglades can have a chance to

(01:24:11):
get drained and be low and that's when it's at
its absolute prime time.

Speaker 33 (01:24:16):
So you know, we're always always kind of.

Speaker 36 (01:24:18):
Waiting for that that perfect time to go and unfortunately,
well and fortunately I get to fish all in between as.

Speaker 18 (01:24:27):
Well, so we're just praying for that that that low
water in the in.

Speaker 4 (01:24:32):
The spring here all right, Well, Johnny, listen, buddy, I
will they say a big thanks for being a brand
new captain in twenty twenty four.

Speaker 1 (01:24:38):
Every week and you break it super strong. We appreciate you,
your tips.

Speaker 4 (01:24:43):
You have a lot of fans of the show, so
thank your good man, and I want to wish you
at early twenty twenty five. Happy new Year, buddy, Happy
new year.

Speaker 7 (01:24:51):
Guys.

Speaker 1 (01:24:52):
It's gonna be a great twenty twenty five.

Speaker 3 (01:24:54):
Let's make it.

Speaker 4 (01:24:54):
We have a brand new band in office. Things should
be looking better day by day.

Speaker 3 (01:24:58):
Let's hope.

Speaker 1 (01:24:59):
And just thinking that there's a British invasion artist, the
Dave Clark five. They had a phishing song catch Me
if you can. Yeah, there you go.

Speaker 4 (01:25:07):
Yeah, that's just a question about music. I just blew
it with the rascals and love a spoonful.

Speaker 3 (01:25:12):
So well I hooked you up with one here.

Speaker 1 (01:25:14):
Thank you very much. Have a great day, Johnny, Thank
you buddy very much.

Speaker 4 (01:25:18):
Do we or do not have Joe Hector? We do
not not have Joe. We're trying Joe Hector. We've been
trying really hard to have them online.

Speaker 5 (01:25:27):
His video issues.

Speaker 4 (01:25:28):
Oh video, Okay, that's the issue Joe. Anyway, we'll take
it in a second. So tell me about some more
about Beatle stuff.

Speaker 1 (01:25:35):
Here.

Speaker 4 (01:25:36):
You do a fresh Beatle brush show every weekend.

Speaker 1 (01:25:38):
Yeah, I mean sometimes I'll do the same the same topic.
Because Hard Day's Night was a film, it was in
a soundtrack, so the feature of that once a Year
of Sergeant Pepper. Different to themes. I like to do
themes that are crazy, like Beatles songs with one word
stuff like that.

Speaker 4 (01:25:51):
Yeah, you know, help, I've heard your show man, I mean,
how you do that program? You got some killer reviews
in there, man, Yeah, you splice all together.

Speaker 1 (01:25:58):
Great.

Speaker 4 (01:25:58):
It's really flows well and it's super interesting to listen.
If you've got a not a Beatle fan, just listen
to it and you'll be hooked.

Speaker 1 (01:26:04):
Yeah. And if you go to Brunch Radio dot com
or Beetle Brunch dot com, it tells you how to
hear the show from wherever you live and put it
on your phone and all that stuff. So good, good going.
It's they still live on after all these years. Paul
McCartney just wrapped up his store. You know what's funny.
He was walking out the stage and his wife, his
daughter shot this video. Him and the whole band are singing,
hey hey with the monkeys.

Speaker 3 (01:26:26):
People say, with.

Speaker 4 (01:26:27):
Monkey around, that probably toocked them off back. If they
were the monkey's breaking through and taking some other steam, right.

Speaker 1 (01:26:33):
It'd have been well the monkeys out. I think outsold
them in nineteen sixty eight, you know the Peter Torque
and Davy Jones.

Speaker 3 (01:26:40):
Da David Jones. This is Davy.

Speaker 1 (01:26:42):
He used to live in Hollywood and he would come
by magic and he's still he passed away now.

Speaker 3 (01:26:47):
He lived up in Loasahatchie.

Speaker 4 (01:26:49):
Wow, so many stories Joe about the fab form. That's amazing.
I was doing some research last night. By the way,
I have a stubber question for maybe you know the
answer to what was the most expensive Beatle album to make? Wow,
that is a really good question, and I have the
answer for you. But when you're you gonna give it,
you're gonna.

Speaker 1 (01:27:07):
Hold I'll tell you right now.

Speaker 3 (01:27:08):
You can let me guess. Would it be?

Speaker 1 (01:27:11):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (01:27:11):
It took seven hundred hours for George Martin to put
this thing together.

Speaker 3 (01:27:15):
Is it Sergeant Pepper?

Speaker 1 (01:27:16):
It is Sergeant Pepper, very very good, Joe, because they
had a lot of stuff going on with the pictures,
and you know in the back it has all those
faces and some of them didn't want to be on it,
so they had to airbrush them out.

Speaker 4 (01:27:27):
I've got a stump, you man. But you actually got
that one, you know it.

Speaker 1 (01:27:29):
I just know there's no way I can ever stopped
on a Beatle question.

Speaker 3 (01:27:32):
But here's the what is the number one Beatles selling album?

Speaker 1 (01:27:35):
Now? The white album?

Speaker 3 (01:27:38):
That's exactly right because two of them.

Speaker 1 (01:27:40):
Thank you, thank you very much. See I got a
few thanks still.

Speaker 3 (01:27:43):
Apperiod record this and put this on the Beetle Brunt Show.

Speaker 4 (01:27:46):
Well, I can take it out the Facebook streaming, pull
the audio. I will do all right, be fun. We'll
take a little break. Maybe Joe Hector may streaming. We'll
try this video. Thing has been cocking made me all
day long, right hey Joe. But next for talking about

How boss has to go and Happy New Year, Dev.

Speaker 4 (01:34:15):
Great job on that promo on Facebook. Thanks so much
for that. Was awesome.

Speaker 47 (01:34:18):
Really absolutely Sometimes I just get a wild hair and
do that kind of thing.

Speaker 4 (01:34:23):
You never know about me, all right, you are a
terrific by the way, Joe Johnson, Captain Dev Dev Joe
Johnson before you've talked before.

Speaker 3 (01:34:31):
Okay, So hi Joe, how are you Dev? I'm great.
Good to have you back on the show.

Speaker 1 (01:34:36):
Yeah, it's nice to be here.

Speaker 4 (01:34:38):
What's happening in the world of the Keys there, kid,
I'll talk about it.

Speaker 47 (01:34:42):
Well right now, it's raining, big time raining, and it's gusty.

Speaker 33 (01:34:46):
I see.

Speaker 47 (01:34:46):
It's just just Stephen just said, uh, fishing's though have
been good. I've got out two days this week. You know,
this is considered a hell week of South Florida with
at week after Christmas. So we have a lot of
people on the island, yes, a lot of people in
the restaurants, a lot of people and hopefully we've got

(01:35:08):
some nice weather coming up in the next couple of days.
But we did pretty good. The selfisher biting pretty well,
the mutton snapper bites pretty good, yellowtail snapper bike's been
on fire lately. Wreck fishing has been really good. I
went rec fishing the other day. So, I mean, it's
just our winter time stuff. And yeah, it's just it's

(01:35:30):
just been nice, just been nice.

Speaker 4 (01:35:33):
Joe's let's say you've been to the keys Man a.

Speaker 3 (01:35:35):
Couple of weeks ago for Thanksgiving.

Speaker 1 (01:35:37):
My sister has a house in Tavernier, Oh, and we
went down there and we had nice dinner.

Speaker 4 (01:35:42):
Please tell me, Joe, you went down to Dev's land
down there?

Speaker 1 (01:35:45):
Did you? Did you fish at all?

Speaker 21 (01:35:47):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (01:35:48):
No? Can you?

Speaker 3 (01:35:49):
We caught a turkey?

Speaker 1 (01:35:52):
Dev? How the hell do you go to the keys
and not bust out a rock laying out on the
back and the tiki hut and you got patuons playing
and stuff like that, and you Bevera, just come and Coop,
bring me another.

Speaker 26 (01:36:06):
Yeah, man that.

Speaker 47 (01:36:12):
Some people like Martin better than fishing around here. I
don't know why, but.

Speaker 1 (01:36:18):
They do.

Speaker 47 (01:36:19):
They like, you know, and and it's sometimes, you know,
it's it's good to come down and relax. But yeah,
people don't realize that if you go out there in
a boat and you sit there and you drop in
a line, and it's the most peaceful thing you've ever
done in the entire life, at.

Speaker 41 (01:36:32):
Least it is for me.

Speaker 1 (01:36:35):
If you go out far enough, there's no mosquitoes, no
noms because you're it's just and no.

Speaker 47 (01:36:41):
Drama and no drama. It all out there.

Speaker 1 (01:36:44):
No, that's the best part, I tell you.

Speaker 4 (01:36:47):
I mean, I'll tell you I told them before the radio.
I had one of my many boats back in the day.

Speaker 6 (01:36:51):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (01:36:52):
Some days I go out fishing alone, right, and I
go offshore and I look around, and I'd read nobody around,
and I would just take all my stuff off and
just drive my boat buck naked and head off short
of my fishing ground.

Speaker 1 (01:37:04):
Two hands on the steering wheel or are you two
hands on the steering wheel? On the rod man, it
was all good, yep, Deva. You guys are boy yourself
in the world of the ocean. Man, you can do
whatever you want to do. You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 47 (01:37:16):
You never know when that satellite is going to see
you though.

Speaker 5 (01:37:23):
Before but now or DEVA could be a drone too.

Speaker 47 (01:37:28):
Yeah, we definitely have those down here, that's for sure.
I was coming out of the canal the other day
and I had one about hitting me in the face.
Oh no, but somebody was flying it behind my boat,
and I mean, I guess they didn't know how to
fly it because you know, you need some kind of
license for that, and they don't have it undoubled. But
they come straight through the back of my boat about
hitting my riggers.

Speaker 1 (01:37:48):
I was like, oh my god.

Speaker 47 (01:37:50):
But while I'm on the phone, I just want to
say I heard Bouncer earlier and Bouncer it has been
such an inspiration to me, and I've learned so much
from him and the material that he writes, the seminars
he gives. He has been such an inspiration to my
fishing and I just I really, really a love Bouncer

(01:38:12):
so much and I appreciate everything that he's done on
this radio. I appreciate everything he's done in his fishing life,
and I wish him the best and thank you Bouncer
for everything.

Speaker 4 (01:38:22):
And you know what, Debbie actually heard what you said,
because I have Boucher online too, holding h a chance,
never a chance to really give us a final farewell
as much time as he should have. So I know
you heard that, and deb I totally agree. And by
the way, just so you know, I love you to death.
You are a legendary in your own world or kiddo,
just you know.

Speaker 47 (01:38:41):
Okay, seriously, I had some pretty good mentors, I tell
you that throwing.

Speaker 1 (01:38:45):
The way so one of them.

Speaker 4 (01:38:47):
Thank you, dev Happy.

Speaker 33 (01:38:51):
Happy new here guys.

Speaker 4 (01:38:52):
All right, we've got Captain Bouncer back, Joey. It's a
chance had finally have a little more time to talk
about his final farewell. We have hads of time clock
crutches here for a while we did so Bouser walking back. Man,
I wants to say again it's been a pleasure with
you for so many years.

Speaker 1 (01:39:07):
How are you this morning?

Speaker 34 (01:39:10):
Other than the embarrassment of oversleeping or out here in
my alarm clock on the phone, I'm doing pretty dog
on goods. You know, I've been losing weight lately, been
working real hard on that, and believe me, it's a
challenge and I had a couple of spectacular the fishing
trips this fall. You know, we had that rainbow trout

(01:39:30):
trip right after Thanksgiving and the big straight bass.

Speaker 1 (01:39:34):
Trip here a week or two ago.

Speaker 34 (01:39:36):
And god, you know, you asked me earlier what the
highlights of the radio show, and there's too many highlights
to bring up, but one that was really important was
when I found out that the host of the Beatles Show,
Joe Johnson, was joining you on the air. That was

(01:39:57):
an exciting moment because man, I'm a Beatles kid from
the get go, uh get riding my motor scooter in
my mid teens, you know, fifteen and stuff, and I'd
be singing and I saw her standing there over and
over again all the way home, and then it was
me schell and then I was never a big hate

(01:40:20):
Jube fan. And then they were on Ed Sullivan, and
by when I watched them perform live on that from
the Dove, hey uh hey, June fan there ever was
so And of.

Speaker 1 (01:40:32):
Course they came down in the state in Miami for
eight days as long as they stayed anywhere, and they
were only supposed to be here till Monday, where they
they asked if they could stay and they had private
mgs and you know, driving around and going seeing South
Florida and the beach. So yeah, it was a big
time for us here too in South Florida. So Bouser
is a huge Joe josph fan and a huge Beetle fan.

(01:40:53):
But Bouncer, give me, hit me up and I'll get
you a membership in the Beatle Brunch Club. Bro, you
hear all the Beatles you want.

Speaker 34 (01:41:00):
Well, that's something not like I say, I guess you're
not on the air. You have a private airing now.

Speaker 3 (01:41:07):
Joe's that was Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:41:08):
Well, the show is broadcasting about one hundred different cities,
just none here in South Florida.

Speaker 3 (01:41:12):
So we put it online for I go everybody else.

Speaker 1 (01:41:15):
Yeah yeah, but in certain places around the country you
pull up and listen to your FM and there it is.

Speaker 3 (01:41:21):
But yeah, I appreciate it. Is excited for me to
hear you're a listener, So thanks so much.

Speaker 4 (01:41:27):
Absolutely well, Boucher listen. So Saturday Morning says this is
your farewell day on the show, which I can't believe
he's been out since day one. Joe, back when the
late great Gym Manage gave me a call, I said,
Eric Listen, I know you were a well, he goes,
you a fishing guy, semi fishing guy, if you hire me,
I'm a fishing guy. And he hired me, and then

(01:41:49):
we got Bowser and all these great legendary castle of
the show. It's changed over the years of Joe. Some
capsle lefts and have come and gone blah blah. But
Bowser was the original guy back eighteen years ago and
we have had a great run. He's my grandson. Jackson
goes before he can actually talked really well. He goes,
can't bout you. I want catchup, and Boucher goes a

(01:42:11):
little man, you want to catch Grooper. Okay, we go
out Joe. Boucher catches this kid, a grouper, and he's
on the dock. Best remember that day trying to lift
that thing.

Speaker 1 (01:42:20):
Off the deck.

Speaker 4 (01:42:20):
Man, Oh my god, weigh like pounds. God, it was
a it was a big grouper man. He was trying
to pounds.

Speaker 34 (01:42:29):
Yeah, it was really cute to him trying to pick
it up on the gap. It was he was a
He's an awesome kid. I saw a picture, just a
Christmas picture. I guess he's going to be a big boy.

Speaker 26 (01:42:40):
Now.

Speaker 4 (01:42:40):
Yeah, and remember Emily, my granddaughter, said to him, Joe,
she wanted to catch a sailfish. So what do we do.
We go out there and Boucher gets us on like
nine sailfish and she we have a photo of her. Actually,
because Boucher knows the rule. He taught me very carefully,
don't bring a selfish out of the water for a photo.

Speaker 1 (01:42:57):
It harms him.

Speaker 4 (01:42:58):
Okay, So he let Emily grab the bill of the
saale fish on the side of the boat as we
de hooked him or he delooked the other and was
