Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the 96.1 kiss morning freak show well the
guy uh the guy went up on mount washington and
stole the phantom menace pepsi machine.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Unbelievable i i don't know he got past everybody dude
i forgot all about it i forgot about it too
which is probably how it got stolen Right?

Speaker 3 (00:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Good morning, friends. It's Mikey and Bob here on 96.1 KISS. Now,
weeks ago, there's this guy. He's got over a million
followers on Instagram, Braden Days, and he likes to go
around and steal things. Not just Pittsburgh, all over the country,
he steals things that seem to be unstealable. And he
threatened to steal.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
the.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
Legendary Phantom Menace Pepsi machine that's next to the fire
department up there on Mount Washington. Like, he made videos
a month ago, like, casing it out and did a
whole production for a video of how he's going to
steal it, and then it just kind of disappeared. Well,
we brought it up on our show, and then it
was like the city was up in arms, like, no

(01:00):
one's stealing it.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
Yeah, he stole it. He stole it.

Speaker 4 (01:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
And he put another Pepsi machine... with the phantom menace
like art on it but it's like cartoonish it's it's
incredible what.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
This guy did honestly drawn like.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
And then it's weird because he sent me a picture
no words he just sent me a picture because we
were sort of involved with this you know we were
riding for the city say hey nobody take that phantom
menacing that's legendary it's like a pittsburgh landmark um yeah
and he sent me a picture of it like in
a basement or a garage So he's got it.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
It's like, hey, I got this. I don't know what
happens now, though.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
Does he do this stuff just like for the Internet
and then does he give it back? Or is he
like keeping that Phantom Menace machine? Like, did anybody actually
call the cops? Because I think he committed a crime, right?

Speaker 3 (01:56):
Like, is it in a basement in Pittsburgh someplace?

Speaker 2 (01:59):
It's in a basement or a garage from when he
sent me the picture. I just don't know. But it's
he did it like. I don't know what else to say.
The guy said he was going to steal it, and
we were all like, no, you're not. And then he
just waited everybody out, and then he stole.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
It.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
It's almost impressive, other than I want the damn machine back,
because it's something that makes our city special.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
I know, I know.

Speaker 5 (02:26):
I know.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
Like, it's hilarious. It's funny. But it's not.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
I know, but we want it back, though, because it's
a special thing to us.

Speaker 3 (02:35):
We don't want your cartoon one. Like, that one's cool, though.
I want that one. You proved your point, okay? Give
the damn machine back, right? Give it back.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
So we'll keep you updated if we hear from the
guy again, or if we have any sort of inclination
of what he's going to do with it now. But yeah,
he really did it. The guy that planned to do it.
He went up on Mount Washington. Everybody must have been asleep. Firefighters,
where were you? Everybody on Mount Washington neighborhood watched.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
I'm sure he's going to make a video of how
he did it. No, he is.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
It's coming out today. It's coming out. It's coming out today.
I can't wait to see it and see how he
pulled it off and then see if he ever plans
on giving it back.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
All right.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
There's a lot to do on the show today. We
got a box in here. I haven't opened it yet.
It's a big box.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
It's a big box. I know.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
I don't know what's in it. It's pretty heavy. We
will open that next year. Bruno Mars tickets, your chance.
Saturday night's coming up soon. Bruno tickets around 7.30 and 9.30.
It's Mikey and Bobby.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
96.1.

Speaker 6 (03:35):
Kids.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
Okay, it's just a great start to the show here.
The first segment of our show, we don't know why. Listen,
I mean, we kind of do, but we don't. We
had engineering in here overnight, working on something with our studio.
Our company brought in a guy to update all our stuff. Yeah,

(04:01):
and our microphones had us pitched down for the first
segment of our show.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
We did not know that. We were just in here
talking normal. It sounded normal to us.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
And then Bob just goes, hey, there's a lot of
talkback messages already.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
Okay, well, let's check in and see what's going on here.

Speaker 7 (04:18):
Okay, you have to fix your mics or something because
your voices are really deep. It's f * * *
ing hilarious. Go back and listen to the beginning of
the show. Mikey, your voice is so deep.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (04:31):
Oh, my God, a Bob's voice deeper is even more hilarious.
Holy shit, this is f * * * ing hilarious.
I love you guys. Happy birthday, Bob.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Man, I hope, you know, we have a lot of
listeners who, you know, will use medical things to make
themselves feel better.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
I hope nobody's high.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
Like, for that first segment of the show, like, you
turn on the podcast, I hope nobody's high for that. Alright,
let's get to just one more real quick one here,
because I like this response too.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
Why do you guys sound like you're in slow motion?

Speaker 2 (05:03):
Why do you guys sound like you're in slow motion?

Speaker 3 (05:07):
We don't know, really. I think we're fixed now, though. Hopefully.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
I think we're back now, though, to regular voice. We
should have done a whole show in that voice. That
would have been hilarious.

Speaker 8 (05:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
Alright, well, I think we're back to normal voice now. Okay? Hello.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
So, coming up next on the show, the box is
still sitting over there. We haven't even opened the box
you know what a treat we had to deal with
our voice changing we had to deal with the guy
stealing the damn phantom menace pepsi machine up on mount
washington all right we got a big box here we'll
open that up next and also our friends at c
harper unbelievable what they did for us yesterday. We will

(05:42):
also get to that coming up next. Two chances for
you to try to win some Bruno Mars tickets, 7.30
and 9.30.

Speaker 3 (05:48):
Stick around. It's Mikey and Bob. 96.1 KISS. The Mikey
and Bob Podcast.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
Mikey and Bob.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
Oh, my goodness. You all right? That's rough right there.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
Stream the Mikey and Bob Podcast on iHeartRadio or wherever
you get your podcasts.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
Sad news yesterday with the passing of Dolly Parton, 80
years old. We will get to a tribute to Dolly
Parton out at Star Lake last night. We will get
to that coming up next here. It's Mikey and Bob
on 96.1 KISS.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
Really weird.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
We had an engineering guy that was in here yesterday
doing stuff to our studio. Apparently forgot to set something back.
So the start of our show, our voices were like
slowed down.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
Do you even know we could do this with the equipment?

Speaker 2 (06:36):
No, I had no clue. Like we sounded normal in here,
but like the start of the show.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
We sort of sounded like this, you know, like it
was voice changing. Morning guys. Psycho Michael here. Just curious,
are both of you guys sick this morning or something?

Speaker 2 (06:49):
Because while you're talking about the Pepsi machine, you both
have super deep, sexy, sultry voices, and I kind of
dig it. There is something a little sexy. It was
a little sexy, but we can't do a whole show
like that. That's too much sexy.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
It really is. All right, first of all, let's talk
about our friends over at the C.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
Harper Auto Group. Yesterday, there were two bags on our vehicles. C.
Harper Auto Group, big sponsor of the show now. They
sponsor our podcast. Good friends of the show, right?

Speaker 8 (07:15):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
So we go out yesterday to our vehicles. I'm driving
my purple Jeep Gladiator. Bob's in his white Dodge Ram Laramie.
And there's bags on our cars. We open them up
and there's ducks in there. Of course, we know Jeep drivers,
they put ducks on their dashboard.

Speaker 6 (07:33):
Oh, no.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
See Harper made Mikey and Bob Jeep ducks. They're not
normal ducks. They're Mikey and Bob ducks. And they're so cool. Yeah.
They got our logo and see Harper logo on it. And, um,
I guess like mine would be like purple. It's a
purple dog.

Speaker 9 (07:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
And then Bob has a regular rubber ducky with a
cowboy hat on.

Speaker 3 (07:52):
Unbelievable. See Harper Auto Group. I where have you been
all of our lives? We love you. Awesome. Love you. Awesome.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
And we posted a picture up on our Mikey and
Bob Facebook page. If you'd like to see the Mikey
and Bob Jeep ducks from see Harper. Now the problem is, though, Bob, everyone,
even if they don't drive a Jeep, wants one. And
I don't know what to do because that's breaking the
Jeep rules, right? We should just only hand them to
people or see people with.

Speaker 3 (08:16):
Jeeps, right? I don't know how this works.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
Our ducks became the bounty for the top of the line,
top of the mountain for ducks you could receive from somebody. Yeah,
it's a special duck. It's a special duck. Now, are
you ready to open the mystery box that we got today?

Speaker 3 (08:30):
I'm trying to get all this stuff out of the
way here, all right? I think so. I don't even
know who's it from. It's from Toilet T-Rex. Okay.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
A wonderful listener named Gina. We call her Toilet T-Rex.
And let me just open this box. First of all,
there's a note with it, okay?

Speaker 3 (08:46):
Uh-huh, yeah.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
There's a note with it with an envelope. All right,
hold on one second. Now, the envelope has tiny people
in it. When I say tiny people, I'm talking about, like,
minuscule people.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
This is weird. All right, there's, like, little tiny figures
in here.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
What is.

Speaker 3 (09:02):
Wait, are those like the size of rice almost? Yeah,
it's really.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
I wanted to get you guys something to keep your
rides nice and shiny. Bob, you can keep your cowboy
hat nice and neat with your cowboy hat holder.

Speaker 3 (09:15):
For a car.

Speaker 9 (09:16):
Oh my god look at that what a gift there
you go what a gift from the toilet yep the
toilet t-rex sent you something to keep your cowboy hat
in your car uh and uh something to uh also
get delivered by friday oh there's more coming mikey you
get a bob duck.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
Dude this cowboy hat mounter it mounts on like the
back of the seat oh that's sick And the hat
just lays in there on display.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
Mikey, this is Bob as a duck, so he can
go with you everywhere. All right.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
She made a cowboy hat duck with sunglasses, a donut,
and coffee.

Speaker 3 (09:51):
So that's my Bob duck there. Bob, you've got a
duck here. It is an actual Jurassic Park duck. It's like...
a dino duck. Oh, I guess this would be mine
since you don't drive a Jeep, right? You can have it.
You can have it. Uh, let's see.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
Yeah. And a toilet T-Rex duck. Take, uh, take them
and place them around. Uh, take the little people and
place them around your office.

Speaker 3 (10:13):
Uh, okay. Bob's other gift. And look at this. Armor
All Care Kits for us.

Speaker 9 (10:18):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (10:19):
Look at that. Look at that. The glass and the
wipes and everything. There you go. There's your Armor All Kit.
Look at that, man. You know, toilet T-Rex. You're awesome.
Above and beyond.

Speaker 9 (10:28):
All right.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
So we got ducks.

Speaker 9 (10:30):
We got mini people. We got Armor All stuff. And
Bob's got a cowboy. Ah, this box is so big.

Speaker 3 (10:36):
You're just wrestling the box. All right, man.

Speaker 2 (10:38):
Listen, our voices weren't the same to start the show.
It's been a weird show this morning.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
We got prizes. This is very nice. We have our
own Jeep Ducks now from C. Harper. A lot going on.
All right.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
It was obviously a sad day yesterday to learn of
the passing of the legend Dolly Parton. Kesha did a
tribute out at Star Lake. which she said something that
we had no clue about Dolly Parton. So we will
get to that coming up next year. Also, two chances
this morning for you to try to win Bruno Mars tickets.
That show is going to be massive on Saturday night.

(11:09):
It's sold out.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
It's at Accra.

Speaker 2 (11:11):
Sure. We're ending the summer with Bruno Mars, 730 and
930 tickets for that. It's Mikey and Bob. Live your
life like Dolly Parton did. Everybody loved her. Do you
know how rare it is, especially in this day and age,
to be loved by everyone? It's nearly impossible. Super famous

(11:36):
and still? Loved by everyone. Loved by everyone. Everybody respects you.
Everybody loves you.

Speaker 3 (11:42):
Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (11:43):
It's Mikey and Bob here on 96.1 KISS. Obviously, yesterday,
just incredibly sad news. That one hit, man. Just like
when you found it out, your heart just kind of
sank a little bit, you know?

Speaker 8 (11:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (11:55):
Dolly Parton had been sort of sick for a little while,
but I guess people around her knew that she was
dealing with health issues, but didn't think that this was it.
Like they thought she was going to pull through. So
it was a shock to people that were close to her.
She was battling cancer, I guess, was also revealed. So,

(12:16):
I mean, she just she left such a legacy. She's
in like show business and music business for like six
decades now. Like, that longevity is just, it's unbelievable to
be that successful and famous and still be a good
person and still, like, Dolly Parton could pull up to

(12:36):
any country music award show, rip it up, you know?

Speaker 3 (12:39):
Dude, Dolly would.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
Then I learned she was given, like, college scholarships yesterday
that I'd ever do any... there's so much after somebody
passes that you learn about them and you're just like
wow yeah like the imagination library where she gives you
know free books to to kids um you know to
younger kids to help them with literacy and everything like
that like i saw uh yesterday mayor cory o'connor posted

(13:02):
like in the city of pittsburgh account posted about like
all the hundreds of thousands of books that kids have
gotten in our pittsburgh area just because of uh of
Dolly Parton and her imagination library.

Speaker 3 (13:16):
It's awesome.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
And then, you know, you start thinking about, you know, she,
when we were going through the COVID stuff, right. she
donated so much money to, uh, wasn't it like Vanderbilt?
I believe it was like a million dollars. She's had
ties to like the Vanderbilt medical for years, just donating money.
The Moderna vaccine that helped us get through COVID. And

(13:39):
now those, those, um, that, that research and those breakthroughs
are now being used in cancer breakthroughs that have been
happening recently, you know? So, um, It's just incredible what
she left behind, her legacy. It's so rare to be
loved by everybody, but from... people in the music industry,

(14:03):
to people in politics, to just everyday people like all
of us, just universally beloved, like a Mr.

Speaker 3 (14:11):
Rogers-like character. Yeah, very much.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
Where you're just like, don't got anything bad to say
about her at all. Last night, Kesha was out at
Star Lake, and she was doing her show and did
a little tribute to Dolly Parton here.

Speaker 3 (14:26):
In honor of her incredible legacy and legacy. Her beautiful life.

Speaker 10 (14:32):
I would like to sing the song that my mom
wrote for her.

Speaker 3 (14:39):
It's on my album, Rainbow.

Speaker 11 (14:42):
And the song is called, Old Flames Can't Hold a
Candle to You.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
So now we came in this morning, we heard that
and we were just like, wait, did she say Kesha?
Kesha's mom wrote that? Was Kesha's mom a famous songwriter? No,
I mean, I looked it up and she's a singer, songwriter,
whatever musician. She co-wrote the song Old Flames Can't Hold
a Candle to You, which was famously recorded by Dolly Parton.

(15:08):
And then it just says she's written some songs with Kesha.
So it was like, I don't know, maybe just random
one off where Kesha's mom wrote a song with Dolly
Parton and Kesha.

Speaker 3 (15:17):
I did that last night out at Star Lake as
a tribute.

Speaker 2 (15:20):
That's cool. It affects everybody. Everybody loves Dolly Parton, and
it's sad. We all die eventually, but it's just, man,
why the good ones, though? They should live so long.
80 years old is a full life, but, man, everybody was,
I think, got a gut punch yesterday when you learned
of the passing of Dolly Parton. Rest in peace, Dolly.

(15:44):
It's already been an interesting morning around here. When we
started the show, there was something wrong with our microphones
and we were like in slow motion. I can't really
even explain what was going on because I honestly don't
understand a lot of controls around here. But we had
heavy voices with thick voices.

Speaker 3 (16:01):
Yeah, real thick.

Speaker 2 (16:02):
Let's get to this talkback message real quick brought to
us by One Team Media.

Speaker 11 (16:05):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (16:06):
For fixing the microphones.

Speaker 9 (16:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 12 (16:08):
I was tweaking this morning.

Speaker 9 (16:10):
Because I wake up at 5.45 a.m., brush my teeth,
get dressed, get in the car right at 6 a.m.

Speaker 3 (16:17):
I take a 15-minute morning. Damn.

Speaker 1 (16:19):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
So I thought I was still asleep whenever I turned
on the radio and you guys were talking like that.

Speaker 12 (16:24):
I started turning my radio off and on.

Speaker 3 (16:26):
I pulled it up on my phone. I didn't know
what to think. I was losing it. Sorry, everybody, for
the start of our show.

Speaker 2 (16:33):
It was technical difficulties that somehow slowed our voices down.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
It was weird.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
We had no clue it was happening until we shut
the mics off and then everybody started calling us and
leaving us messages.

Speaker 3 (16:43):
Dude, 15 minutes from the moment you wake up till
you're in the car?

Speaker 2 (16:47):
No shower, though. There's no shower. No, but that's still wild.
That's pretty good. That's good time right there. Hey, see
them buckos? one nothing dude wow paul skeens actually pitched
a good game last night out in san diego.

Speaker 3 (17:01):
What are we doing winning now yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:03):
Paul skeens is pitching good and then dude they won
one nothing ninth inning o'neill cruz with the home run
off mason miller who's you know their all-star closer yeah
right like bethel parkett yeah yeah it was the first
home run he allowed all season yeah maybe there to
O'Neal Cruz. Maybe he said, you know what? Give the

(17:25):
Buccos one.

Speaker 8 (17:28):
Alright.

Speaker 2 (17:29):
They're back at it again this afternoon. Pirates go for
the series sweep. 4-10, Bubba Chandler pitching. for the buckos
all right right around seven o'clock here let's take you
back to a moment in the show that made us
laugh made us smile it is time for today in
freak show history here we go today in freak show.

Speaker 7 (17:48):
History today in freak show history.

Speaker 3 (17:56):
Let's get to this talkback message. Guess we're going to
learn about animals here.

Speaker 5 (18:00):
So I just heard that lobsters pee out of their face.

Speaker 3 (18:04):
And we're off. Let's go. Learning this morning. Start Googling
it right now. I didn't know if that's true. We
learn a lot.

Speaker 2 (18:11):
Google lobsters pee out of their face. I mean, it's
your search history. Yeah, you're right.

Speaker 3 (18:17):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (18:18):
Your computer has already seen a lot of unspeakable things.

Speaker 3 (18:22):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (18:24):
Um it's research for the show it is research all
right so we need to learn do lobsters pee out
of their.

Speaker 5 (18:29):
Face thought that was very interesting yeah and of course
i had to come share it with you guys thank
you makes me curious to think of what other animals
do that or pee out of other body parts.

Speaker 3 (18:40):
Have a good day guys i don't know how we
look that up like this is educational here.

Speaker 2 (18:44):
Okay you have lobster news for us here bob lobsters
do pee out of their faces oh.

Speaker 3 (18:49):
My god you you You dirty, dirty lobsters.

Speaker 2 (18:53):
They have specialized openings around their eyes that release urine.

Speaker 3 (18:56):
They use it for communication. It's not their eyes.

Speaker 2 (18:59):
They don't pee out of their eyes, though. It's by
their eyes? Yeah, it's by their eyes. Yeah, they use
it for communication and mark their territory. And I guess
they use it for mating rituals as well.

Speaker 4 (19:11):
Oh, my.

Speaker 3 (19:12):
A little spice? A little nasty.

Speaker 2 (19:15):
Good knowledge today if you learn anything from our show
today lobsters pee out of their face your chance at
sold out bruno mars tickets coming up this morning around
7 30 and 9 30 you got to be listening
for the keywords to uh send in through the iheart
radio app send a talkback message A couple chances for

(19:36):
you to try to win those sold-out Bruno tickets this morning. 7.30,
your first chance coming up here on 96.1 KISS. It's
Mikey and Bob. Now, we started the show sort of
talking about the....

Speaker 3 (19:50):
The Phantom Menace Star Wars Pepsi machine. Okay.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
This thing's been around forever up on Mount Washington next
to the fire station. It's... It's a thing, you know,
it's like the Burger King that's a Burger King, but
not really a Burger King on the south side. You know,
it's these Pittsburgh landmarks that yinzers really know and love.
Visit Pittsburgh actually features it on their website. It's like
a place to visit. Yeah, it's just that people do

(20:15):
come from all around to see the Phantom Menace Pepsi
machine up on Mount Washington. And then, like, I don't know,
a couple months ago, there was this guy on Instagram
that likes to steal large things. He's got over a
million followers. It's what he does. And he said he
was going to steal the Pepsi machine. Then we started
talking about it on our show. It felt like the
city was just behind. No, we're going to stop this guy.

(20:36):
No chance he's stealing it. He stole it. He stole it.
He also replaced it. There is still a vending machine there,
but it looks like the Phantom Menace vending machine, but
it's all painted. So it's not like the original graphics.
Somebody painted the original graphics. Dude, he waited for all
of it to die down and, you know, it to
fade out of our mind.

Speaker 3 (20:56):
Like, I didn't even remember it.

Speaker 6 (20:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (20:58):
Like, I remembered it happened, but like, it was so
far out of my mind that he would ever come
back and try to actually steal it. Yeah. And then
he did it. He sent me a picture last night.
And he already deleted it, so I can't even get
back to the picture. But he sent me a picture
of it. It looked like it was in a garage
or a basement.

Speaker 3 (21:14):
Hold on.

Speaker 2 (21:14):
Let's get to our friend Mills on the Mount here.
Talkback messages brought to us by the Pavement Group.

Speaker 3 (21:19):
It's Mills.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
Oh, my God.

Speaker 3 (21:20):
We have a crisis, guys.

Speaker 6 (21:21):
Movers.

Speaker 3 (21:22):
Holy shit. Okay.

Speaker 13 (21:23):
I just got on Facebook and saw a post in
the Mount Washington Facebook group about the Phantom Menace Pepsi
vending machine that somebody stole it.

Speaker 7 (21:34):
Yep.

Speaker 13 (21:35):
They thought it was painted over, but it's a totally
different coin slot, different soda options.

Speaker 3 (21:40):
Now, let me just ask a question.

Speaker 2 (21:42):
Did did anybody above Mount Washington see the Phantom Menace
machine being painted?

Speaker 3 (21:48):
I just throw a red flag like, hey, wait a minute.
That ain't right.

Speaker 13 (21:52):
Someone posted a picture in the comments that they saw
some people working on it.

Speaker 3 (21:56):
Okay, now you get the one working on it. Red flag.
Come on.

Speaker 13 (22:00):
Posted a picture of that. They thought it was just
being painted over, but they said no, it was fully replaced.

Speaker 2 (22:06):
Yeah, see, I see somebody painting over the Phantom Menace machine.
I say, no, no, that thing's been there forever. It's
like going up to the Mr. Rogers statue and just
painting it and being like.

Speaker 3 (22:16):
Wow, it's just bronze. We should paint it. Don't give
this guy another idea.

Speaker 1 (22:19):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (22:20):
Isn't that machine maintained by the firefighters? So if it's
not the firefighters out there working on it, which I
don't know how much maintenance they have to do on it,
but like... Especially if you see it moving from its spot. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (22:33):
I don't know. I mean, maybe he did it overnight,
but aren't there cameras out there?

Speaker 13 (22:37):
And then someone put a screenshot of Braden Day's story
with a picture of people replacing it and said, job done.
The original is safe and sound and in my possession.
New video tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (22:48):
Yeah, so that would be today. He's supposed to be
posting a video. He went out, bought another vending machine,
painted the exact thing over top of it that matches
the Phantom Menace cover and put it in its place
and left with the real one.

Speaker 3 (23:03):
He stole a Pittsburgh landmark.

Speaker 2 (23:04):
It's I mean, the one that he left is hilarious,
by the way. It is kind of funny. That one
needs to stay up there, but we need the real
one back also.

Speaker 3 (23:14):
No, no.

Speaker 2 (23:15):
Brayden Days needs to put the original back and then
give us the cartoonish Phantom Menace machine for the studio.
Put it in the studio? Put it in the studio.
I think that's how everybody leaves this happy, right? No
charges or anything like that. That's how we get out
of this. Yeah, that's how we get out of this.
You got to give us the cartoonish one now. that
you obviously created and put the other one back there.

Speaker 3 (23:36):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (23:37):
I feel like I want to talk to some of
the firefighters up there and really get the story behind this. Like,
are they angry this morning that their machine has been
stolen or they're just like, ah, there's another one there anyway.

Speaker 3 (23:46):
Well, whatever. No big deal. But they can't even get
into that one though.

Speaker 1 (23:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
I doubt they have the key and like making it functional.

Speaker 3 (23:54):
Unless they're in on it. Oh man. What a goof.
Can't be right. All right. Well, we'll see.

Speaker 2 (24:01):
I don't know how this plays out, but either way,
It's gone. The legendary Phantom Menace Pepsi machine. The dude
pulled it off.

Speaker 3 (24:08):
He did it. He stole a Pittsburgh landmark, damn it.
He did it. He's dropping video today, he said.

Speaker 7 (24:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (24:16):
All right.

Speaker 3 (24:16):
Well, it's going to be a great video, probably, I'm guessing.

Speaker 6 (24:19):
I know.

Speaker 3 (24:19):
It's going to be great. I don't want it to be,
but it's going to be awesome.

Speaker 4 (24:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (24:22):
Let's see how he pulled it off. All right.

Speaker 2 (24:24):
Your chance at sold-out Bruno Mars tickets coming up around
7.30 and 9.30 this morning.

Speaker 3 (24:28):
It's Mikey and Bob. 96.1 KISS.

Speaker 2 (24:30):
It is Mikey and Bob here on 96.1 KISS. Bob,
it's time to say something nice.

Speaker 3 (24:35):
Here we go.

Speaker 9 (24:36):
Ooh-wee!

Speaker 3 (24:39):
Say something nice. Say something nice.

Speaker 9 (24:42):
Hey, Moochie and Boochie.

Speaker 3 (24:43):
It's Bill from Brunswick, Ohio.

Speaker 6 (24:44):
Hey, Bill.

Speaker 2 (24:45):
Hey, my daughter Nora and my son JJ just wanted
to say something real quick.

Speaker 3 (24:48):
All right, Nora and JJ here, the kids. Say something nice.
Say something nice.

Speaker 9 (24:54):
Bye, Moochie and Boochie.

Speaker 3 (24:56):
She just calls Moochie and Boochie? I hope you have
a good rest of your week. Say bye.

Speaker 6 (25:01):
Bye.

Speaker 8 (25:02):
Bye, boys.

Speaker 3 (25:03):
You have a good rest of your week.

Speaker 2 (25:05):
That was absolutely beautiful getting the kids involved.

Speaker 3 (25:11):
Say something nice. Say something nice.

Speaker 10 (25:14):
I'm a little sad today, but I would like to
say something nice. Say something nice.

Speaker 3 (25:19):
All right. Say something nice. Say something nice.

Speaker 10 (25:27):
How lucky are we that we got to be alive
at the same time as Dolly Parton?

Speaker 3 (25:31):
I mean, preach. Really? It is a gift. She was
one of one. Beloved by everyone.

Speaker 10 (25:38):
That woman brought joy into the lives of so many people.
And now it's going to be a little darker without
her here. So today, I'm going to pull out my
VHS copy of Best Little... Whorehouse in Texas.

Speaker 2 (25:50):
Okay, I thought you said you were going to pull
something else out for Dolly, and I was going to
have to put the pause on you there, but okay.

Speaker 10 (25:56):
And show my kids how funny she was.

Speaker 6 (25:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 10 (25:59):
Have a great day, guys.

Speaker 3 (26:00):
All right, yeah, Dolly Parton.

Speaker 2 (26:01):
We all were, you know, it was a gut punch
yesterday learning about her passing. It sucks, but obviously she
was one of one, an absolute legend. All right.

Speaker 3 (26:11):
Oh, wee! Say something nice. Say something nice.

Speaker 4 (26:17):
Say something nice.

Speaker 3 (26:21):
Say something nice. Say something nice. Say something nice.

Speaker 9 (26:30):
Ooh-wee.

Speaker 3 (26:31):
Say something nice.

Speaker 1 (26:32):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (26:33):
Say something nice.

Speaker 2 (26:33):
All right.

Speaker 4 (26:34):
Well, Mikey and Bob, I have something nice to say
to you. I know you guys hear it all the time,
how thankful we are for you guys, but seriously.

Speaker 3 (26:42):
Yeah, no, this makes us uncomfortable. Go ahead. We're not
good at compliments.

Speaker 4 (26:47):
I cannot thank you enough for your show every single day.
You make me laugh every single day, even when I
have to travel sometimes two hours to my job.

Speaker 2 (26:57):
Geez.

Speaker 3 (26:57):
Quit your job now.

Speaker 4 (26:58):
But seriously, thank you so much for honestly getting us
through our work day. You make us laugh. Honestly, I
think most of us laugh until tears roll down our face.

Speaker 2 (27:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (27:10):
And truly, you make our days go by quicker, our
drives go by quicker, and just our bad days are
turned around because of your joyous laughs and, honestly, your show.
So thank you.

Speaker 3 (27:25):
Yeah, that's a really nice message you sent. Yeah, that
was great. Thank you. We really love you. Say something nice.
Say something nice.

Speaker 2 (27:36):
Yeah, you know, there's enough bad going on in the world.
We just try to come in here for a few hours,
have some fun and some laughs. Two-hour commute's the stunning
thing there.

Speaker 3 (27:43):
Yeah. You gotta find a new job. Specialty gas prices!
Gas prices! Gas prices!

Speaker 2 (27:57):
Coach McCarthy was meowing yesterday about the Steelers quarterback.

Speaker 3 (28:01):
What are they going to do? What's going on? They
keeping four?

Speaker 2 (28:04):
Who's odd man out here? And also, sort of, who's
going to be playing? What's going to be going on
Thursday in Buffalo? We will get to McCarthy Meows coming
up next here.

Speaker 3 (28:14):
It's Mikey and Bob.

Speaker 2 (28:20):
If you miss any live show, get caught up with
the Mikey and Bob podcast every day on the free
iHeartRadio app brought to us by our friends at the C.
Harper Auto Group, who also, if you missed it earlier,
they made Mikey and Bob Jeep Ducks. We have them.
They're so great. I don't know how you get them.
I guess you just drive a Jeep and we put
it on your car. But yeah, we have Mikey and
Bob Jeep Ducks now from C.

Speaker 6 (28:41):
Harper.

Speaker 3 (28:41):
You can see it up on our Mikey and Bob
Facebook page.

Speaker 2 (28:46):
By the way, Bob, yesterday there was a lot of
talk about the Steelers-Disney champion collaboration where every team, every
city got a Disney character, and we got Pete.

Speaker 3 (28:57):
Yeah, yeah, yeah. The big cat-looking thing from Goofy. I
don't know. Let's get to our buddy George here. Hey,
what's going on, fellas?

Speaker 14 (29:04):
George here, catching up on Tuesday morning's podcast still. Y'all
doing the Facebook comments about the Disney collaboration.

Speaker 3 (29:11):
Dude, I'm laughing my ass off over here.

Speaker 2 (29:14):
And I couldn't help but think, how in the, I'm
not allowed to say that on the radio, do you
clog a porta potty?

Speaker 3 (29:21):
All right, y'all take it easy. It's possible.

Speaker 2 (29:24):
It's possible, George. I don't need to get into it,
but you can absolutely clog a porta potty. A guy
that looks like Pete has done it before.

Speaker 5 (29:31):
He has.

Speaker 2 (29:33):
I bet Mike McCarthy's come close to clogging a porta
potty before in his time. Mike McCarthy yesterday was talking
about hey, listen, we're.

Speaker 3 (29:41):
Getting down to roster cuts here.

Speaker 2 (29:42):
It's got to be down to 53-man roster by Sunday
at 6 p.m.

Speaker 3 (29:47):
Four quarterbacks? Yes. What are we doing?

Speaker 2 (29:49):
Steelers got their last preseason game Thursday at Buffalo.

Speaker 3 (29:52):
Mike McCarthy was asked about the quarterbacks.

Speaker 12 (29:54):
We'll do the play time.

Speaker 3 (29:55):
With the quarterbacks.

Speaker 12 (29:57):
The team today but we definitely will focus on those
two young.

Speaker 2 (29:59):
Guys all right so it's gonna be two young guys
again in buffalo it sounds like but then he was
asked about hey who's odd man out here are we
keeping four quarterbacks.

Speaker 12 (30:07):
Yeah we talked uh extensively about the the importance of
the whole quarterback room and if you have four quarterbacks
in that room especially the quality that we have Currently,
I think it only enhances what the regular season would
look like. I'd have six quarterbacks in a building if
it worked. No, I think that would be very healthy

(30:29):
for the overall quarterback room with four quarterbacks.

Speaker 2 (30:32):
All right, so he doesn't really– Did you say he'd
have six quarterbacks? Hey, listen, settle down, McCarthy, all right?
Four is almost too much.

Speaker 3 (30:41):
I'll take six. I'll take six.

Speaker 13 (30:43):
Six.

Speaker 2 (30:44):
Mike McCarthy's just waiting for teams to cut their fourth
string quarterback so he can pick it up like, hey,
we're going to need them all.

Speaker 3 (30:50):
We don't know what to do with four at this point.

Speaker 2 (30:53):
Yeah, but I mean, it sounds like he said the
best quarterback room is with all four of them. Now,
I just don't think an NFL team is going to
go into the season with four quarterbacks. Then you got
to think, can we put one on practice squad? But
then they're open to being signed by any NFL team.

Speaker 3 (31:10):
Right, right, right.

Speaker 6 (31:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (31:12):
So there's a lot of NFL teams with crappy quarterback
situations like the backup or the third string.

Speaker 3 (31:17):
Yeah. Yeah. Risky.

Speaker 2 (31:19):
Here was Mike McCarthy talking about the roster cuts that
are coming up. He doesn't sound like a fan of this.

Speaker 12 (31:23):
I know for me, I'm not looking forward to the
next four days. Um, You know, I've been here with
these men since April. I see the time that they
put in. I'm not just talking about the CBA regulated time.
I'm talking about the weekends, you know, the early mornings.
You know, 68 players. I mean, that's what's going to
come out of this 90-man roster. You know, you want

(31:44):
to see everybody get an opportunity. I think it's important
for me to accomplish that here in Buffalo, and then
we'll see how it sorts out. But, yes, it's not–
It's not a great day when you're telling a guy that,
you know, he's not part of a 68. But I
think the most important thing is you be honest and
tell him where he is and what he's done and
what he needs to work on. And, you know, so

(32:05):
history holds true. We'll probably work together again, maybe again someday.

Speaker 2 (32:09):
Yeah. So roster's got to get cut down. So this
is what's bad about the last preseason game is like
you mess up.

Speaker 3 (32:17):
And you're on the line.

Speaker 2 (32:18):
You know, and if you like fumble, drop a pass,
that might be the end of your NFL career.

Speaker 3 (32:25):
Which is crazy, right?

Speaker 2 (32:26):
If you're back returning kicks or a punt or something
and fumble or something messes up and... Well, not great. Well,
let's not talk about Caden Legion. We can't have him
get cut and not make the roster. He won our
Rico Bussey player of Steelers training camp. Bobby can't cut
that guy, right?

Speaker 3 (32:43):
Rico Bussey won it one year, too.

Speaker 2 (32:45):
Oh, my gosh. 53-man roster by Sunday at 6 p.m.
Steelers taking on the Bills in Buffalo tomorrow, which also
means Friday morning on our show. We send everybody into
the weekend with Steelers preseason Facebook comments.

Speaker 7 (32:58):
96.1 Kids.

Speaker 3 (32:59):
The Mikey and Bob Podcast. Oh, my goodness. That was
coming out. Yeah, I couldn't stop it. It was just happening.
I'm disgusting.

10 here on 96.1 KISS.

Speaker 3 (34:20):
Now....

Speaker 2 (34:24):
I don't know what's going on with the Pepsi machine
up on Mount Washington, but I just saw the WPXI.com
story that they did about it.

Speaker 3 (34:34):
They have no clue.

Speaker 2 (34:35):
There's no mention of the guy who stole it or
anything like that.

Speaker 3 (34:39):
No idea.

Speaker 2 (34:40):
No, it's almost just like what happened and they're baffled
by it. We need the news to get on this
and the local authorities. Everybody knows he stole it. You know,
it's a guy with a million followers from L.A. who
told us months ago he was going to steal it
and stole it. At some point, he's going to post
a video, too, of him doing it.

Speaker 8 (34:57):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (34:57):
Today, he's he's supposed to post a video of how
he stole the Pepsi machine. Again, for people who don't
know here in Pittsburgh, we have a Phantom Menace Star
Wars Pepsi machine from like the late 90s, early 2000s
up on Mount Washington. It's been there forever. I think
the fire department runs it. Yeah, it's survived all these years.
It's a place where people go and get their picture

(35:19):
taken with it. Yeah, it's a whole thing. Then this
guy on the internet said he was going to steal
it because he steals a lot of big things that
can't be stolen. We were talking about it on our
show saying, no, I don't think so. There's enough people
up on Mount Washington that ain't going to let you steal.
He stole it, and he replaced it with another vending
machine that's painted like the Phantom Menace one. It's actually
kind of funny looking, but you remember our guy Chatty?

(35:41):
Who up on Mount Washington, he was going to protect it, right?

Speaker 3 (35:45):
With his feet. The guy wrote Chatty a note. Left
it behind.

Speaker 2 (35:51):
All right, so let's get to Chatty here again. This
is a note left behind by the guy who stole
the Phantom Menace. Pepsi machine.

Speaker 3 (35:59):
That is not the original machine. He took the original machine.

Speaker 12 (36:04):
It's a hand-drawn version of it, but he succeeded.

Speaker 3 (36:07):
He took that machine away from me in Pittsburgh. These
guys could not save it. And he gets the crap
all over me, too.

Speaker 7 (36:14):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (36:15):
Chatty doesn't sound like he's in a good place right there,
you know? I mean, what can you do? The guy
did it.

Speaker 3 (36:20):
Use the feet, Chatty.

Speaker 2 (36:22):
The Braden guy who stole the machine also, he sent
me a picture yesterday.

Speaker 3 (36:28):
There was no words. He just said, did you get
a picture at all?

Speaker 1 (36:30):
No.

Speaker 3 (36:31):
He sent me a picture. There's no words.

Speaker 2 (36:32):
Probably just because, oh, these were the guys on the
radio talking about, you know, me stealing it. I love
that he's taking a little victory lap, like writing chatty
a handwritten note and sending you a picture of the
machine removed.

Speaker 3 (36:43):
Not much I can do about it, you know. I
just wonder. Where was it?

Speaker 2 (36:46):
Like a basement, you said? Yeah, it looked like a
basement or garage. No, not a storage unit. It looked
like a basement or a garage that it was in.
I wonder if it's already gone. Like, I don't know
how this works. Does he keep it now?

Speaker 3 (36:59):
How did he transport it? Does he keep it?

Speaker 2 (37:03):
Was it an inside job? Did somebody from Pittsburgh? Somebody
had to help him, right? Somebody had to help him.

Speaker 3 (37:07):
No, I hope not.

Speaker 2 (37:09):
I hope it's not a yinzer who turned on us
and is responsible for the removal of the... Listen, it's
a fun and everything like that, but now I'm past the, okay,
he stole it, he wins, he got away with it.

Speaker 3 (37:21):
Do we get it back?

Speaker 2 (37:22):
I want to see the video, and then I want
it back. Yeah, how does this work? Do we all
clap and go, yay, he can do it, he pulled
off the heist? Can we have it back now, though?
I want to see the video and then.

Speaker 3 (37:32):
I want it back.

Speaker 6 (37:33):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (37:34):
All right.

Speaker 3 (37:34):
So hopefully we get to see the video later today.
And hilarious. It's a pretty funny thing. It is funny.
He said he was going to steal it. He waited.

Speaker 2 (37:43):
He waited till the attention was off him. And then
he stole the damn. legendary Phantom menace machine up on
Mount Washington.

Speaker 3 (37:49):
You're living up on Mount Washington too. What are you
doing on your watch? It's on your watch. What are
you doing?

Speaker 2 (37:53):
The Facebook group said there are people like working on
the machine. That should have been the red flag right there.

Speaker 3 (37:58):
How do you let that thing walk away? I don't know, man.
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (38:02):
Obviously a lot of people are sad, uh, today about
the passing of Dolly Parton, um, two Titans, Beyonce, who
obviously worked with Dolly Parton before and Taylor Swift, who
has connections with Dolly Parton. They both, uh, released statements
about the passing of Dolly. We'll get to those coming
up next. And also, your chance at Bruno Mars. Sold

(38:23):
out tickets for Saturday around 9.30 this morning here on
96.1 KISS.

Speaker 3 (38:27):
It's Mikey and Bob.

Speaker 2 (38:29):
A lot of us obviously sad about the passing of
the country music legend, just an American icon, Dolly Parton,
dead at the age of 80. She was dealing with
health issues. I think she had some cancer. And just
the philanthropy that she did over her lifetime is just

(38:50):
incredible from the imaginary imagination library, you know, that provided
so many kids with with books to the the the
breakthrough that her research funded with the covid vaccine and Moderna,
which is now leading to cancer breakthroughs. It's incredible what
this one person did. She's what I'd hope every, you know,

(39:11):
rich person would. aspire to be by giving back that way.

Speaker 6 (39:14):
Yes.

Speaker 3 (39:16):
There's a lot of people, obviously, she's worked with over
the years.

Speaker 2 (39:20):
She has worked with Taylor Swift before. Not only that,
but Dolly Parton said that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey
made a $ 2 million donation to her imagination library in
the past, which is just awesome. Taylor Swift putting out
a statement saying a world without Dolly doesn't feel possible,
real or right. But because of the eternally generous way

(39:43):
she spent her time on Earth and the countless lives
she changed for the better, her legacy will be an
everlasting one. She said, along with her other fans, she's
so grateful for all that she did, for the melodies,
the lyrics she wrote that thawed even the coldest hearts.
Taylor Swift went on to say for the millions of
books she provided children all over the world so that
they might fall in love with the stories the way

(40:04):
she did. For the tightrope she walked so that young
girls like me could grow up dreaming of joining the circus, too.
And Taylor Swift said, Dolly, I'll think of you each
step of the way. And Taylor and Travis have donated, again,
$ 2 million to the Imagination Library in the past. And
she worked with Beyonce, too, on the Cowboy Carter album.

(40:25):
I mean, she's in a couple of the songs, but
that song, Tyrant, it starts with Dolly Parton.

Speaker 3 (40:31):
Cowboy Carter. Time to strike a match and light up
this juke joint.

Speaker 14 (40:37):
One, one, one by one.

Speaker 2 (40:39):
I mean, it's a whole song with Beyonce and Dolly
Parton there. on her Cowboy Carter album. And, you know,
I know during that time it was like, oh, Beyonce's
doing a country album? Yo, you throw Dolly on there,
you got the only co-sign you need, right? Yep, Dolly co-sign.
So Beyonce posted a statement on the passing of Dolly

(41:00):
Parton just saying she's honored to have the privilege to
work with her and she'll treasure it forever. She said, Dolly,
you were the barometer. This is from Beyonce, the North Star,
bold and brilliant, talented and tenacious. You taught so many
lessons on how to be uniquely oneself. I'm grateful for
your art, your heart, your generosity, your humor, your entrepreneurship.

Speaker 3 (41:21):
I'm honored.

Speaker 2 (41:22):
I had the privilege to work with you. I'll treasure
it forever. Thank you for your profound impact on the world.
You are an angel who has made this world a
happier place because of your joyful art. You are truly
one of one. rest peacefully. That is the statement for Beyonce, man. Listen, you,
you pass. And then right after Beyonce and Taylor Swift,

(41:44):
like you made an impact. Like those are two of
the biggest, most famous people in the world.

Speaker 8 (41:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (41:50):
And you know, just releasing statements about how great of
a person I, this, this one affected everybody, you know,
because like we were saying earlier, I think so many
people know her from different things, too. She was a
huge movie star, a comedy movie star. She was hilarious.

Speaker 3 (42:10):
She was a singer.

Speaker 2 (42:10):
And even if you didn't like her music or wasn't
a big fan of her music, I don't think anybody
hated it, but you knew her from the movies. And
then later on, at least these past 10, 15, 20 years,
she was known for giving so much.

Speaker 3 (42:23):
Yeah, philanthropy. And yeah, that's it.

Speaker 2 (42:25):
So obviously it's been some tough news for a lot
of people to take. 80 years old, she was battling
with some cancer. From what it sounds like, it was unexpected.
Her family knew she was sick, but they didn't think
it was that bad. I saw stories coming out, you know,
over the past year or so of her missing things
here and there. But then she would pop up again
at another place and be like, oh, Dolly's doing all right. Yeah,

(42:48):
I remember she took some time off, but then, like,
came back. And I remember she posted a video that's
just like, I'm here. I ain't going nowhere.

Speaker 3 (42:56):
You remember that? It was like a few months back.

Speaker 2 (42:58):
And you're just like, oh, Dolly must not be doing
too good. There were, like, rumors.

Speaker 3 (43:02):
And then you saw her, and you're just like, ah,
there she is. There she is.

Speaker 2 (43:08):
Yeah, it's a tough one for a lot of people
to take. Rest in peace to the legend, Dolly Parton.
Another shot at Bruno Mars tickets around 930 here on
96.1 Kiss.

Speaker 3 (43:18):
It's Mikey and Bob.

Speaker 2 (43:20):
Also, send your say something nice talkback messages in because
this week on the show, we're randomly giving people $ 100
get go gift cards. You know, maybe you're making a
final summer trip. You want to fuel up, get some
snacks and everything. Get goes the place for that. Great
supporters of the show. So if you send a say
something nice message this week, you're qualified for a $ 100

(43:41):
gift Get-go gift card. All right, let's get to this
talkback message brought to us by One Team Media.

Speaker 13 (43:46):
Hello, this is Jess.

Speaker 9 (43:47):
Hey.

Speaker 11 (43:48):
So you guys playing Pittsburgh Steelers time last week triggered
a core.

Speaker 2 (43:53):
Memory in me.

Speaker 3 (43:54):
Hell yeah.

Speaker 11 (43:55):
I think I left a message about how I started
listening to you guys on my middle school bus in 2005,
and listening to that made me think of Super Bowl XL.

Speaker 3 (44:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 11 (44:06):
I think you guys used to also sing about Bill
Cowher's mustache, too.

Speaker 3 (44:11):
And I loved it. All right.

Speaker 2 (44:12):
There's a nostalgia feel to the song we made. Yeah,
that was like Super Bowl 40 time. Yeah, Pittsburgh Steeler time. Now,
our buddy, DJ Bonix, Wiz Khalifa's DJ, he asked us
for all the vocals and everything for Pittsburgh Steeler time.
He's not done with this yet, but he's cooking up something.
He's cooking up like a version of Pittsburgh Steeler Time

(44:33):
for people to play at tailgates.

Speaker 3 (44:34):
That's it, right? That's it around with it, yep. You know,
there's not many lyrics. Pittsburgh Steelers. It makes you feel something.
It does.

Speaker 2 (44:54):
It does make you feel right back.

Speaker 3 (44:57):
All right.

Speaker 2 (44:57):
Steelers, of course, got their final preseason game in Buffalo tomorrow,
which means we'll read Steelers Facebook comments Friday morning on
the show. Let's get to Ben Roethlisberger's basement, though. That's
where he does his. His his podcast. Yeah. Football and podcast.
You know, Ben always says something. It feels like every
week on his podcast, he'll say something that's worth hearing

(45:19):
for Steelers fans. Of course, he was asked about the
Steelers quarterback situation. Got four of them. We know Aaron
Rodgers is a starter. We know Mason Rudolph's.

Speaker 3 (45:28):
There in the mix. And then he got the two
young guys. We'll hire. He's big Ben. What does big
Ben think? I know. Right. Well, let's get to it.

Speaker 15 (45:36):
You know, in my opinion, again, without breaking down the film,
without being in the meeting room, knowing who made mistakes,
who had the Emmys, you know, did he just from
watching the TV topics, right?

Speaker 2 (45:44):
I love how Ben does this. He goes in my opinion.
And then you think a bold opinions about to happen.
And then he goes, but just know that I only
watch it on TV like you, so I don't have
the game film, so I might be wrong.

Speaker 15 (45:56):
Just because someone throws an interception or a touchdown doesn't
mean they made the right decision.

Speaker 2 (46:00):
I'm pretty sure that when a quarterback throws a touchdown,
it feels like it's the right decision.

Speaker 3 (46:05):
It feels right.

Speaker 2 (46:06):
When a quarterback throws an interception, it It feels like
that was the wrong decision.

Speaker 3 (46:10):
Maybe he's going someplace. Okay, all right, all right. You
got lucky. The ball should have went over here. Right?

Speaker 2 (46:15):
Okay, all right. Lucky touchdowns? Listen, Ben never got lucky. No, no.
Ben never scrambled in the pocket and then threw it up.

Speaker 6 (46:25):
Never.

Speaker 2 (46:26):
He always knew it. From just watching the game. Just
like everybody else.

Speaker 15 (46:30):
I thought Will's game in week one was a little
bit better than Drew's.

Speaker 2 (46:34):
Wait, didn't Drew Aller have the game? in the first
preseason game where he threw for two touchdowns and ran
for one. He had the game so much that when
we were doing Facebook comments, people were calling him.

Speaker 3 (46:46):
Yes. Oh, we got the next big bang.

Speaker 2 (46:48):
So then Ben in his next podcast goes, will Howard
had a better game than drew Aller in week one.

Speaker 3 (46:55):
Ben didn't like this week. I would say that drew
a little bit better of a game okay so.

Speaker 2 (47:05):
He said will the first game in his second game
it was it was drew over over will hard again
this is uh ben roethlisberger on his football and podcast
talking about the steelers quarterback situation.

Speaker 15 (47:17):
There there it's too close to call right it's a
neck and neck yeah so that's why i want to
see this this week yep that being said you know
someone asked let's let's throw this out there what if
drew goes out and plays really well with with The.

Speaker 3 (47:29):
Ones or twos. Well, if he does that, he's the
next big Ben.

Speaker 15 (47:32):
And Will comes in in the second half with the
twos and threes, and he lights it up.

Speaker 3 (47:38):
Who had the better game? Oh, my gosh. Who's the
next big Ben then? I don't know.

Speaker 6 (47:42):
I don't know.

Speaker 15 (47:42):
I would, again, if I'm a coach or GM, I'm
doing everything I can to keep both of them.

Speaker 3 (47:47):
All right.

Speaker 2 (47:47):
So Ben says if he's in charge, he's keeping both
of them. So we're keeping four? I don't know, though,
because then what happens with Mason Rudolph? I don't think
you put either one on practice squad because I think
someone will scoop him up. All right, so that's Ben saying,
got to keep both the young guys. No practice squad
because somebody will take Drew Allard.

Speaker 3 (48:04):
Somebody will take Will Hart. Do you keep four, Ben?

Speaker 15 (48:08):
So I would say that you have an option of
either keeping all four or you try and put Mason
on practice squad.

Speaker 3 (48:13):
Dude, it's always... Yo, what Mason Rudolph do to this guy?
It's always Mason. He hates Mason Rudolph. They do not
like each other. They do not like each other at all.
Why do you hate Mason Rudolph?

Speaker 2 (48:28):
No need to hate him he's not the next big
ben last week mason even kind of threw that shot
of just like remember he was just like oh yeah
the way things are now with these young quarterbacks i
wish it was like that yeah that's like me and
aaron and mccarthy are pouring into these young guys i
wish it was.

Speaker 3 (48:46):
Like that for me but it wasn't.

Speaker 2 (48:48):
All right so this is batty's get back just telling
oh yeah dude how about practice squad get your ass
to the practice squad mason.

Speaker 3 (48:55):
Rudolph Nice job, Ben. I love that he knows how
to say the thing, man.

Speaker 2 (49:00):
This is exactly the Ben Roethlisberger we knew we were
going to get when he said he was going to
start doing a podcast.

Speaker 3 (49:05):
He does not want another Big Ben, though. No, don't
even say it. That Drew Aller game. Don't say it.

Speaker 2 (49:11):
Will Hart actually played better than him.

Speaker 3 (49:14):
We can't have the next Big Ben.

Speaker 2 (49:17):
We might need to send a text. over to our
buddy Rob Fisher over at Edgar Snyder and Associates. I
think we have a legal question that we're about to
bring up on the show here. It's Mikey and Bob
on 96.1 KISS. Now, this morning we have been talking about, again,
the damn... Yeah, all right, Bob. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (49:38):
It's upsetting, right?

Speaker 2 (49:40):
The Phantom Menace Pepsi machine that's been a staple since
like 1999 up on Mount Washington next to the fire
department up there. This guy stole it, right? And he
replaced it with another vending machine that's painted like the
Phantom Menace machine, right? This has been a thing that's
been going on for a couple months with this guy.
He said he was going to steal it and then
he stole it.

Speaker 3 (49:59):
He's not from here. He's from like LA.

Speaker 2 (50:01):
He's got a million followers on Instagram. He likes to
steal things. Stole the vending machine. Bob just says to
me off the air, he goes, What if we stole his?
And I looked at him and I said, that's I
didn't consider that. Like, I was just looking at a
picture of it sitting there. Yeah, it's just on the sidewalk.

Speaker 3 (50:24):
Uh huh. Like, it's not it's obviously not the machine.

Speaker 12 (50:27):
It's.

Speaker 3 (50:30):
It's not the original one. It's his.

Speaker 2 (50:32):
He bought one and painted it and put it in
place of the original machine. It's like leaving garbage on
the side of the road. That's not the one. It's discarded.

Speaker 3 (50:42):
To me, that belongs to no one. It's not the one.

Speaker 2 (50:46):
I'm looking at a picture of this thing going... Oh,
you know, it's fun for him to make the video
and say, ooh, I stole it, I stole it. What
if we just go steal the one that he put
up there and replaced it with?

Speaker 3 (50:55):
Bring it in the studio here? Yeah, yeah. I don't know. Legally,
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (51:01):
And we probably shouldn't be talking about this on the
show because I think it's a crime.

Speaker 3 (51:06):
Maybe? I don't know, though. Is it a crime or
is it trash? Yeah, I mean.

Speaker 2 (51:14):
fire station there that was theirs that they took i
mean this guy stole from first responders by the way
you know pepsi donated like ten thousand dollars in a
year supply of pop like years ago to the fire
station there too like.

Speaker 3 (51:29):
It's more than just a vending machine man.

Speaker 2 (51:32):
Part of the city all right what do you want
to do after the show go steal his i mean
listen You got a nice, you got a nice truck
where we could put it in that Dodge Ram 1500
Laramie from C Harper Auto Group, Bob, a sponsored heist.

Speaker 3 (51:50):
Like, I've never tried to lift a vending machine before.

Speaker 2 (51:52):
I don't think me and you can lift a vending machine.
I think we're going to need some help here. There
are some firefighters right there, though. Well, that's true.

Speaker 3 (51:59):
Also.

Speaker 2 (52:00):
And if they want us to just remove the junk
that's been left in front of their place... Yeah, that's...
Any firefighters up on Mount Washington, give us a message.
We don't have to play it on air. Let us
know if there's something that's really going on, because... Like,
if this guy's cute plan was to steal it, make
the video, drop the video, and then eventually replace it
and take his back.

Speaker 3 (52:19):
Yeah, that's good. It'd be a shame if we stole his.

Speaker 2 (52:22):
That would be. It'd be a shame if we stole his.
That'd be a real shame. Yeah, we can't do that.
Stealing is bad, right? Well, it's not stealing. It's just
junk out there nobody wants. It's just junk. I mean,
that's not the firefighter's job. I'm glad we talked about this.
I would feel more comfortable talking to somebody over at Edgar.

Speaker 3 (52:41):
Snyder and Associated.

Speaker 2 (52:43):
Me and Bob are thinking about committing a crime, possibly
after the show.

Speaker 3 (52:48):
Yinzer's 11 may need to unite here. Oh, man. I
need to get a crew. Oh, man. Watch out.

Speaker 9 (52:55):
We've been preparing for this for years. And now it's
finally our time to pull off a heist.

Speaker 3 (53:02):
Raccoon Tim, the getaway driver. Watch out! All right.

Speaker 2 (53:07):

some positivity to the show here.

Say something nice. Say something nice. It's our friend Aunt Kaka.

Speaker 4 (54:50):
Hi, boys.

Speaker 3 (54:51):
It's Aunt Kaka. Oh, no.

Speaker 9 (54:54):
I'm sure you can hear that I'm crying, but we
just had to put my bulldog Dudley down.

Speaker 6 (55:01):
Oh, Jesus.

Speaker 3 (55:02):
And I'm really sad. Oh, Kaka.

Speaker 7 (55:04):
But I just wanted to do.

Speaker 10 (55:09):
Say something nice.

Speaker 7 (55:11):
Say something nice to.

Speaker 2 (55:14):
All of the folks that were at Hearts Run Vet Hospital. Hey,
Hearts Run Vets Hospital, thank you. Everybody over there for
taking care of Anacaka.

Speaker 4 (55:25):
They are always really good with our fur babies.

Speaker 2 (55:30):
But they were exceptionally great today.

Speaker 4 (55:34):
You know, they helped make.

Speaker 9 (55:38):
one of the hardest days of our lives a little easier.

Speaker 7 (55:43):
So I really just wanted to thank them.

Speaker 2 (55:47):
All right.

Speaker 9 (55:47):
Love you.

Speaker 2 (55:48):
Man, Anacaka's going through it. I mean, this is, I
don't know what this is. This is a comfortable place
for people, you know? Yeah. Um, that's what we try
to do. We just try to make every day a
little bit better for everybody. And, uh, Aunt Kaka, I'm
sure you're going to be getting a lot of messages now.
I mean, just like our guy Weed Nico did when
his dog died a couple weeks ago. He lives across

(56:10):
the country, and people were feeling for him, too. Aunt Kaka,
we're thinking about you and your family. Never easy to
lose a pet. We're hoping you have some bright days
and a lot of memories to look back on, too.

Speaker 3 (56:34):
Hey, shout out to side boobs. Yeah, yeah. You're with
me on that? I don't know what you're talking about,
but I salute side boobs. Yeah, that's it. I got
nothing more than that. You're doing great, side boobs. Yeah,
have a day, side boobs. Everybody, too.

Speaker 2 (56:52):
Men, women, it don't matter. If you got side boob
going on, hell yeah. Summertime side boobs, man. Good job, everybody.

Speaker 3 (57:01):
God bless them. With side boobs out there.

Speaker 2 (57:04):

the show. But if you're a podcast listener, you know,
you can... Send us messages about the stuff on today's

Speaker 6 (57:35):
Right, right.

Speaker 2 (57:36):
We get it tomorrow. It's a whole thing. So let's
get to this talkback message brought to us by One
Team Media.

Speaker 4 (57:41):
I just left a Dairy Queen and a guy came
in and I was waiting for my food.

Speaker 3 (57:45):
And he comes up to the young girl at the
counter and was like, if I get a cake, can
you guys write on it? And she's like, yeah, just
go pick out a cake and we.

Speaker 8 (57:52):
Can write anything you want. And he says... Well, I
bet you you can't write anything.

Speaker 4 (57:57):
That I want.

Speaker 9 (57:58):
Oh, man.

Speaker 6 (57:58):
Sir.

Speaker 8 (57:59):
Don't.

Speaker 11 (58:00):
Please.

Speaker 7 (58:00):
Please just leave her alone.

Speaker 4 (58:01):
Yeah, dude.

Speaker 2 (58:03):
Sir.

Speaker 3 (58:03):
Don't be.

Speaker 2 (58:04):
Somebody's weird ass uncle at Dairy Queen, you know. And
Dairy Queen a lot of times will have like younger
kids working there and stuff.

Speaker 3 (58:12):
High school, college, whatever. Eight year old girl. And don't be.
I'll bet you won't. I'll bet you won't.

Speaker 2 (58:18):
Dude.

Speaker 3 (58:20):
Keep it moving, man. Don't be creepy. That's it. Don't
be creepy.

Speaker 2 (58:25):
Well, coming from the guy who just saluted all side boobs,
is that creepy or is that just a celebration?

Speaker 3 (58:32):
That wasn't creepy. It's appreciation. Yes, exactly. That's what it is.
I mean, you didn't go ask somebody to write a
happy birthday side boobs. Not a bad cake to get, though. No,
it's what they used to call me on the streets, too.

Speaker 2 (58:49):
I've known you for basically your whole life. I never
remember your street name being Side Boobs. I had a
time when I was on the streets where they... A
dark time in your past?

Speaker 3 (58:57):
No, Side Boobs. Happy birthday, Side Boobs.

Speaker 2 (59:02):
Here's your chance to win $ 1, 000 and a full trip
to Vegas.

Speaker 3 (59:06):
It's not your birthday. That's New Year's Day. Side Boobs.
Thank you again to our friends at the C.

Speaker 2 (59:14):
Harper Auto Group, the official sponsor of the Mikey and
Bob podcast.

Speaker 3 (59:18):
And yesterday after the show, we went out to our C.
Harper vehicles.

Speaker 2 (59:22):
Bob's Dodge Ram, my Jeep Gladiator, and they had ducks
for us. And we know Jeep ducks are a thing, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
People who own Jeeps put little rubber duckies on their dash, right?
They made us Mikey and Bob ducks. Like, I have
purple ducks, and then Bob's are regular rubber duckies with
cowboy hats on.

Speaker 3 (59:41):
It's unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (59:43):
I love it. I can't wait to see a Wrangler
out there in the wild that I can drop a
duck on.

Speaker 3 (59:49):
Hey, I got people that drive Jeeps in my neighborhood.

Speaker 5 (59:51):
Do you?

Speaker 3 (59:52):
Yeah, but I don't know how that works. What do
you mean? Well, dude. If it's out in their driveway.
Is it a home game? I don't know if you're
supposed to go in people's driveways. See, that's what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (01:00:01):
Because nobody's actually put a duck on my Jeep when
it's sitting in my driveway. I guess that would be
kind of weird, but you know. I see a Jeep
down the street. I really want to go put.

Speaker 3 (01:00:12):
A duck on it. You know, look what I got.

Speaker 2 (01:00:15):
I mean, maybe, but then I also have to think
like kind of an invasion.

Speaker 3 (01:00:20):
I don't want to creep anybody out.

Speaker 2 (01:00:22):
So I want to put Mike and Bob ducks on
all the Jeeps in Pittsburgh. Now, thanks to our friends
at the C Harper auto group. We didn't even know
they were making Mikey and Bob Jeep ducks. And they did.
And it's awesome. And we, we really appreciate when, you know,
company like that, people like that go above and beyond
for us and our show and our listeners and just

(01:00:42):
kind of something cool. And you guys know how we
feel about all this. It's cool when something like that happens.
It's just little ducks, but it means a lot more
to us than that.

Speaker 3 (01:00:51):
All right.

Speaker 2 (01:00:52):
We have your chance at Bruno Mars tickets coming up
in just a minute here for the sold out show.

Speaker 3 (01:00:57):
Saturday at Accra.

Speaker 7 (01:00:59):
Sure.

Speaker 2 (01:01:00):
But Bob, we need to check in with the Pittsburgh
police scanner here. We got one thing.

Speaker 3 (01:01:06):
Okay. But it's worthy of making the show. Okay.

Speaker 2 (01:01:10):
Again, the Pittsburgh Police Scanner account. They do a great
job on social media.

Speaker 3 (01:01:14):
Award winning. They've won awards. They have.

Speaker 2 (01:01:17):
They listen to the scanner and then they just post
about what is happening in and around our city. Brighton
Heights at the Trey Laundromat. Caller said a guy arguing
with employees just came back and dumped a bucket of
pee in the facility.

Speaker 3 (01:01:36):
A lot of questions. A bucket? A lot of questions.

Speaker 7 (01:01:40):
How long....

Speaker 3 (01:01:42):
How long has he been collecting his own urine?

Speaker 2 (01:01:44):
I mean, if you got a bucket of pee that
you're ready to use at any time. See, I don't know, though,
because maybe he was just angry at the laundromat. You
still have to collect the pee somehow. But maybe it
was just one bucket of, you know, one pee trip.
Maybe he's not collecting... a bucket of urine over and

(01:02:07):
over just waiting for the day to throw it somewhere.
You think the bucket was just the big scary thing
and it really could have been like a.

Speaker 3 (01:02:13):
Yeah, it could have been a 20-ounce bottle. A pee?

Speaker 2 (01:02:15):
I don't think it was a bucket full. I think
he went in a bucket and then said, all right,
there's a bucket of pee and threw it all over
the laundromat. That's what's happening in and around our city.

Speaker 9 (01:02:26):
Ding!

Speaker 2 (01:02:27):
Hey, don't throw buckets of pee anywhere. Don't ever pee
in a bucket and collect it either. All right, Bruno
Mars tickets.

Speaker 3 (01:02:35):
Here's your chance to win Bruno Mars tickets.

Speaker 2 (01:02:38):
Zara Larson performing at our iHeartRadio Music Festival. You'll have
more chances to try to win a full trip out
there in $ 1, 000. $ 230, $ 430, and $ 730 later today here
on 96.1 KISS. Obviously, there's been a lot of talk,
and probably if you've gone into the office or texting
with friends yesterday and this morning, a lot of people

(01:03:00):
talking about the passing of Dolly Parton and she was
battling with a cancer. And, yeah, sort of still shocked
close family and friends that she passed age of 80
years old. Now, I know we've been talking about Dolly
Parton on the show today and just her legacy and
all the charity work she did and, you know, Taylor

(01:03:20):
Swift and Beyonce and everybody releases statements about it. I
did not know about the Dolly Parton Dream Box. Did
you know about the Dolly Parton Dream Box? I do
not know what you're speaking of right now. Okay, the
Dolly Parton Dream Box. is a wood chest at Dollywood's
Dream More Resort. It has a CD in it with

(01:03:43):
an unreleased song called My Place in History. The box
honors her uncle Bill Owens and is scheduled to be
opened on Dolly Parton's 100th birthday, January 19th, 2046. 20
years from now. Has it been sitting there or they

(01:04:06):
just put this in place? No, it's been there. No,
it's like a thing. I think big Dolly Parton fans
know about this.

Speaker 3 (01:04:14):
That's wild. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:04:16):
It says the chestnut dream box is a repository of
Dolly's memories and wishes for the future. It will not
be open until Dolly's 100th birthday on January 19th, 2046.
The dream box itself is a tribute to her original
mentor and uncle Bill Owens, who has worked tirelessly to
preserve the American chestnut tree. As a final tribute, Dolly

(01:04:37):
has placed a song, which she has written to be
released at her last, entitled My Place in History. Only
Dolly knows its melody and content until 2046. That's wild.
I didn't know about that. All right, so we got
to wait 20 more years? Listen, I feel like Dolly's

(01:05:00):
gone now. it's i mean there's never a hotter time
than to hear a new dolly parton song than right
now right is there's other things in the dream box
i'm asking you questions you probably have no clue but
it's like there's a collection of memories and stuff in
there um yeah but there is at least one unreleased
song that only dolly parton knows about that is uh

(01:05:20):
is going to be out i guess 2046 we open
the box and there's a cd in there hopefully we'll
still have a cd player to play it on i
guess but You know what? Dolly dropped the time capsule. Really?

Speaker 3 (01:05:31):
Last wishes. Now we just got up. Man, 20 years.
All right.

Speaker 2 (01:05:35):
You know, I was worried about dying before Marvel movies
and stuff like that.

Speaker 3 (01:05:39):
Now I'm worried about Dolly.

Speaker 2 (01:05:41):
Got to make it 20 more years so I can
hear Dolly Parton's, you know, final song to everyone.

Speaker 3 (01:05:47):
I feel like her estate should just just drop it.

Speaker 2 (01:05:50):
Sneak that one out here. Maybe they don't know what
it is. Open the chest up. Open the chest up
and put it out.

Speaker 3 (01:05:56):
You know, listen.

Speaker 2 (01:05:57):
20 years from now, I don't know how this song
is going to do. 20 years from now, no one
will even believe it's real. Everybody will just be like,
that's AI, you know?

Speaker 3 (01:06:06):
You're right.

Speaker 2 (01:06:07):
I mean, honestly, drop it right now. You got to
open the chest up. Not her wishes.

Speaker 3 (01:06:12):
You're right.

Speaker 2 (01:06:13):
The way things are going, we don't know who's going
to be here in 20 years.

Speaker 3 (01:06:18):
Need that Dolly Parton song. I know it's her final wishes. Yeah,
I had no clue about that. Yeah, it's a real thing.

Speaker 2 (01:06:26):
I think we're learning a lot about Dolly Parton. It
just spurred my head. Did the city ever find that
time capsule that they were searching for?

Speaker 3 (01:06:33):
Hey, Mayor Cory O'Connor. Did they give up on that?
What happened there? We need an update. That just went away.
All right.

Speaker 2 (01:06:40):
I'm sending a message. It was like around 4th of July. Remember,
they were tearing the city building up trying to find
the time capsule.

Speaker 3 (01:06:48):
All right.

Speaker 2 (01:06:49):
I'll send an email to Corey O'Connor's office to see
if they found the time capsule yet.

Speaker 3 (01:06:53):
What happened with that? That's a good point, Bob.

Speaker 2 (01:06:55):
We're talking about Dolly's time capsule and her song that's
going to be released in 20 years. Weren't they ripping
walls out and knocking holes in things to look for it?

Speaker 3 (01:07:03):
And then they just went away.

Speaker 2 (01:07:04):
Where'd the time capsule go, Corey O'Connor? It's happening on
your watch.

Speaker 8 (01:07:08):
From.

Speaker 2 (01:07:11):
Hey, start thinking of a name for the podcast here, Bob,
because we're wrapping up the show here. It's Mikey and
Bob on 96.1 KISS. Before we wrap up the show,

Speaker 14 (01:07:53):
They took care of my mother this week. Did an
incredible job. The whole nursing staff was just super empathetic
and helpful.

Speaker 3 (01:08:04):
Truly grateful.

Speaker 9 (01:08:05):
All right.

Speaker 3 (01:08:05):
All the nurses, everybody over at AHN. Shout out to
the nurses. I've been there a few times. Really nice place.
