Speaker 1 (00:02):
All right. Nine months from now. So, I mean, it's
the last day of August. So September to October, October, November, November, December, December, January,
January to February, February to March. March to April, April
to May, May to June is nine months from now. Okay.
Congratulations to all the couples who are going to be
(00:25):
having children nine months from now after that Bruno Mars
show on Saturday. Pregnant Pittsburghers! A real sexy night.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
Real sexy.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
Ain't no way there weren't people getting it in after
that show, right? Wow. Bruno baby's all over Pittsburgh. Watch
out for June. I'm letting you know right now. McGee,
all the, all the baby making places around here. Nine months.
Prepare for June. Prepare for a summer of yinzer babies
(01:00):
because Bruno Mars, that show, that's too sexy. A bunch
of babies named Bruno, too. Everybody's naming their baby after Bruno.
Nine months from now. What'd you guys name your little boy?
DJ Peewee? Huh? By the way, I love that people
didn't realize that's Anderson Paak, right? Yeah, people had no clue.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
Let's just get to this talkback message.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
This was from, I believe, going to or after the
Bruno Mars show here.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
Hey, good morning, Mikey and Bob. Sean Screamer, Taylor Swift fan.
Just want to give you guys a heads up. I'm
going to the Bruno show on Saturday, and I've never
seen him live before. I'm kind of worried about making
the police scanner in case he sings my pants right
off my body.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
Well, I think it happened. I think, I don't know,
maybe John got his pants sung off and he made
the Pittsburgh police scanner. It's possible. I don't know. It's possible.
Can't control Bruno Mars and what he does to our
bodies and our feelings. There's babies on the way. June,
nine months from now, watch out. June, here we go.
We have so much to talk about on the show today.
(02:02):
Steelers roster cuts. We will read Steelers Facebook comments about
the roster cuts around 725. Of course, we're going to
talk more about the damn Star Wars vending machine. I'm
so sick of this story. I don't know how I'm
in the middle of this story. It's so dumb. The
guy who took it was DMing me like a madman
over the weekend, wanting me to not put out a
(02:23):
video ruining his surprise, and I ruined it for everyone.
You became right in the middle of this. thing yeah
i did your way right to the middle but also
there was a yinzer on katie k who was calling
for basically the yinz vendors to form to get the
start it's a whole thing we will get to that
but coming up next i over the weekend i i
(02:43):
hit a wall i felt like this can't be real
life have you seen the island in canada yet The
island in Canada? I will explain that next here on
the show because it has me freaked out, dude.
Speaker 3 (02:58):
96.1. Kiss.
Speaker 1 (03:01):
There are some Pittsburgh public schools that are going to
be remote learning Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday because here comes
a final heat wave squirt of summer here today. We're
going to have clouds, highs in the upper 80s, and
then the highs should be in the 90s for Tuesday, Wednesday,
and Thursday. A lot of Pittsburgh public has already said
they're going remote for those three days. You know. Just
(03:22):
keep the kids safe. Sweat their asses off in the classroom.
Swampy pants week. All right, it's Mikey and Bob here
on 96.1 KISS. I got to share this with the
class because I feel like I'm living a simulation right now.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
You think we're going to Canada with this? Dude, this
is the weirdest thing.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
I loved that show that used to be on ABC
so long ago, Lost, where the people crash on the
plane on the island, and it's like a mysterious island.
There's a smoke monster, all that stuff. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You rewatched it. I rewatched it. Loved that show. And
I finished it this weekend. An entire rewatch. And it's
way better to binge it because, you know, then you
(03:59):
understand what's going on and all that stuff. So there's
one point where the island that they're on disappears and
reappears and whatever. There is an island the same day
that I finished watching Lost that disappeared and reappeared in Canada.
There's no way. You can look this up. An island
(04:22):
seemingly appeared out of nowhere in northern British Columbia only
to vanish a few weeks later. The experts are saying
that a forest of trees may have taken root on
a large piece of debris that was loosened by high
(04:42):
water levels. Don't know where the island is now. There's
pictures of it. Did you just Google it to see
if I'm crazy? It's big enough to be an island
like the debris that was floating. Yeah, it's two football fields.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
That's crazy.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
And it's all trees. That's crazy. Uh-huh. So how do
you think I took this news when it came across
my timeline on the day I stopped watching the show
about a mythical, magical, powerful, spiritual island that can move
through space and time and move locations? How do you
think I took that news? This weekend. It sounds not good.
(05:18):
I felt like a crazy person, dude. Like, whoa, somebody's messy. Canada,
I know you probably got beef with this right now,
but Canada, you can't be messing with me like this
and hiding islands on me after I just rewatched Lost.
And then how big of a deep dive did you
do into this island? How many? I got to stay away, dude.
I got to stay away from it, man, because it's
going to lead me off a cliff, dude. I got
(05:39):
to stay away from this. I cannot know more about
the mysterious island that disappeared and reappeared in Canada. Did
you get insider information in the hallway this morning, Bob?
Did you get some Steelers insider, like, chatter in the
hallway before coming in here this morning?
Speaker 2 (05:56):
I heard you talking in the hallway. I feel like
I did.
Speaker 1 (05:59):
Oh, man. This came from somebody who's real inside. Like,
really inside. Oh, it's got to be somebody from DVE then,
because I think we're the only ones here, maybe. We'll
find out. Steelers make their cuts. We will get to
that coming up around 625 and also.
Steelers roster cut Facebook comments. Oh, you know, Steelers made
(06:21):
a couple trades, too. Got a sense of people at
the crossroads. We will get to that next. It's Mikey
and Bob. Not a six-line kiss. The Mikey and Bob Podcast.
I'm going with a maple glazed donut. I mean, if
it comes knocking at my front door, I'm letting it in. OK,
is there a donut that if a donut knocked on
your front door, is there any donut you're denying or
(06:41):
is every.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
Donut getting in? Oh, they're all getting in.
Speaker 4 (06:44):
Stream the Mikey and Bob podcast on iHeartRadio or wherever
you get your podcasts.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
Hey, thank you for listening to our Mikey and Bob podcast. Now,
whatever you're listening on. We appreciate it.
Speaker 5 (06:56):
Thank you. Yep.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
But if you're listening on our free iHeartRadio app, you
can hit that little talkback microphone.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
Send us a message.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
You can send us a message about previous shows, the
latest show, something you want us to cover on the show.
Let us know where you're listening from, too. Oh, yeah.
That's fun, too, right? People in random places. Yeah. Hit
that little talkback microphone, and you can send us a message,
and maybe you'll make the show. Let's get to a
(07:27):
talkback message here brought to us by One Team Media.
It's our buddy on the other side of the country,
all the way in Seattle. It is Wee Nico. Well, boys,
Broderick Jones be taking his long ass down to Dallas
with George Pickens where players go to... gives a shit
hit the crossroads all right here we go oh damn
there goes broderick jones he's gone him and his long
(07:49):
butt cheeks are on it what him and his long
butt cheeks are going to dallas yeah long butt cheeks
yeah last week we learned he's got long butt cheeks
in the facebook comments and we're gonna miss broderick jones
and we're gonna miss broderick jones yeah there he goes
uh the steelers are sending their 14th pick in 2023,
their first round draft pick in 2023, Broderick Jones to
(08:12):
the Dallas Cowboys. Cowboys send the Steelers a third and
a sixth round pick. We give them Broderick Jones and
a fourth round pick. Okay, I'm good with that. I'm
good with that because Broderick Jones, after he had his
injury and everything and his spinal fusion surgery and all that,
it just hasn't worked out here with Broderick Jones. Move on.
(08:33):
Get a pick for him. And we learned he's got
long-ass butt cheeks. Yeah, we did learn that in the
Facebook comments last week. And also.
Second year running back, Caleb Johnson from Iowa. He's gone.
I mean, he never really got a chance, you know? No,
that guy never did anything. He goes to the Packers.
They use a third round draft pick on him. And
(08:53):
he goes to the Packers for a sixth round pick
in 2028. And the Steelers are keeping all the quarterbacks.
That was kind of a surprise. But I guess when
you look at it, it's like they really, you know,
Aaron Rodgers is last year. So then I think you
really got to start looking at the future with Will
and Drew. And then you're like, all right, maybe they're
(09:14):
not ready yet if Aaron Rodgers' foot falls off in
week one. You got Mason Rudolph there to stop the bleeding.
Mason could be the guy for a couple games if
we need him. Maybe. Steelers are keeping all their quarterbacks.
They kept all 10 of their draft picks on the
initial roster. They also play strong safety Deshaun Elliott on
the injured reserve, so that kind of sucks because he's
(09:35):
going to be out the first four games. Joey Porter Jr.,
of course, is on the roster, even though he hasn't
done anything in camp or minicamp or anything like that
because he's looking for a new deal. And Mount Lebanon's
own Eli Heidenreich makes the team. How about that, man?
He's on the bubble, right? He was. He's on the bubble.
He was. Heidenreich makes the team. Caleb Johnson, Broderick Jones
(09:57):
are out of here. And then Bob's in the hallway.
this morning. You got Steelers inside info? Or was there
Steelers chatter in the hallway? What happened? I mean, this
came straight from Mike from DVE. He's, you know, Steelers
radio network. Mike Prezutas. He's deep. He's on the team.
He's on the team, basically. He gets to sleep, you know,
with the Steelers. He's in bunk beds out there. That's
(10:18):
what I heard.
Speaker 3 (10:19):
I heard.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
I heard when they travel on the road, Mike's in
a bunk bed with all the other Steelers. I don't think. Yeah. No,
that's what I heard. Okay. On the plane.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
So I'm just like a Landon Roberts, right?
Speaker 3 (10:28):
Like.
Speaker 1 (10:28):
Yeah. Linebacker.
Speaker 4 (10:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (10:29):
He was a Steeler before and came back.
Speaker 5 (10:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (10:32):
He got cut. He played all preseason and gets cut.
And he's just like, yeah, he's like, that's just, that's
just positioning. He's like, I wouldn't be surprised if he's
back in the next couple of days, because I guess
with veterans like that. Yeah. They don't have to clear waivers,
so he can... Oh, okay, so it's a thing like that.
He could have been like, hey, we're going to bring
you back. Like, we just got to get our money
(10:53):
situation right and everything, and then we'll sign you in
a couple days. We got to put it out like
we got rid of you, but hang around here, okay?
We're going to need you, Landon Roberts. Like, if they
were going to do that to Will Howard or Drell,
they could be claimed by any other team. Yeah, because
they're younger, and it's different for veterans.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
All right, hey!
Speaker 1 (11:10):
Landon Roberts might not be gone forever then, but we
will read some Steelers roster cuts, some Steelers trade Facebook
comments this morning coming up around 725. Now, coming up next, Bob,
I believe we have to play the KDKA news report
on the stolen Pepsi vending machine because. Our names are
(11:35):
in it.
Speaker 3 (11:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:36):
Okay. Our names are in the story. So we got
to play it. The clip from KDK is on. It's
an all timer. It's one that it's just, it's so good. Oh,
what a stupid situation. All right. We will get to
the update on that coming up next today in freak
show history around 7 a.m. And guess what? We got
(11:57):
Jonas Brothers tickets this morning around 830. It's Mikey and Bob.
Mikey and Bob podcast. It caught up on the show
with our Mikey and Bob podcast brought to us by
the C. Harper Auto Group. If you were at the
North Allegheny North Hills game at N.A. this weekend and
(12:18):
you drove a Jeep, you might have got a duck
from our guy Bob over here.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
Yeah, I dropped him off. You were ducking Jeeps?
Speaker 6 (12:24):
I was.
Speaker 1 (12:24):
I ducked somebody in Oakland yesterday. I was dropping my
daughter back off at Pitt. Saw a Jeep, and I
told her, wait here a minute. I'll be back. I'm
going to go randomly put a cowboy duck on somebody's Jeep.
So hopefully there's some people that are getting our Mikey
and Bob C. Harper Auto Group Jeep ducks. Now, it's
Mikey and Bob here on 96.1 KISS. We got to
(12:47):
play a story from KDK. Obviously, the whole city has
been aware now about the Star Wars vending machine up
on Mount Washington. I'm kind of sick of this story,
to be honest. I want the old one back up
there and just let's move on. But of course, it's
made the local news. They talked to Yinzer from up
on Mount Washington. He's wearing a Cam Hayward jersey. Got
to talk to this guy. But this is Katie Kay's
(13:08):
Chris Hoffman who does the report here. What happened to
the original? It may not be Order 66. Star Wars fans,
you know what I'm talking about right there. Whoa, elite
reference by Chris Hoffman. Elite reference. Yeah, that might be
my guy right there, Chris Hoffman. That's a nice reference.
But there is a disturbance in the force. Oh, there is.
All right, got to talk to somebody from Mount Washington, right?
Speaker 2 (13:28):
Got to talk to somebody up there.
Speaker 7 (13:30):
I've seen a lot of crazy stuff up here on
Mount Washington.
Speaker 5 (13:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (13:32):
But I've never seen anybody mess with this vending machine
until this week.
Speaker 1 (13:36):
Neighbors on Mount Washington have no clue where the machine went.
It has pretty much a cult following at this point.
Speaker 5 (13:41):
It does.
Speaker 7 (13:41):
The Star Wars Pepsi vending machine and the terrible towel
are one and the same.
Speaker 1 (13:46):
All right? You just don't mess with them.
Speaker 3 (13:47):
I don't.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
Okay. I don't know. You don't mess with them, okay?
I get what he's saying. You just don't mess with it.
It's something Pittsburgh that you don't mess with. He's wearing
a Steelers jersey, too, man. He's wearing a Cam jersey.
Don't mess with them. He's super injured.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (14:01):
A TikToker with close to a million followers on the
app is getting the finger pointed at him. Yeah, that's
Brayden Days, the guy we've been talking about for months
on the show. As he made comments about wanting to
take it. A post claiming responsibility that's finding its way
on social media. It's not available anymore. Ah, Braden Day's
pulled all his videos down of the stealing the vending machine.
I wonder what happened this weekend. Oh, probably the fact
(14:24):
that he was DMing me in a panic for about
45 minutes, which I'll get to that story around 7.55.
The call for help to find the original machine isn't
going out to Obi-Wan Kenobi. All right, so Obi-Wan Kenobi's not...
This guy up on Washington... He's got all the references.
references he does man chris.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
Hoffman might be my guy he might be my guy
i didn't.
Speaker 1 (14:43):
Know he was a star wars fan like this because
he is working in the references there all right so
you know not obi-wan kenobi but instead jedi in a
system a little closer to home.
Speaker 7 (14:53):
We gotta get a task force here of all the
yinzer legends i mean we need joe manganello on the
case michael keaton mike mccarthy if whiz i need mikey
and big bob hey bud guess what we're on the
case we ruined this whole guy's video like he was
pleading to me not to put my video out saying
that oh he's just gonna fix it up and put
it back and whatever.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
What a rundown of yin's vendors just randomly on why
are we in there listen like i know we've been
doing the show for a long time but we are
not yin's vendors like you're going down that list of
famous pittsburgh yeah The.
Speaker 7 (15:26):
Task force here of all the Yinz are legends. I mean,
we need Joe Manganiello on the case, Michael Keaton, Mike McCarthy, Wiz.
I need Mikey and Big Bob.
Speaker 1 (15:34):
I mean, dude, by the way, that Yinz Avengers right there, well,
by the way, first of all, very male, might need
a lady or two in there. Sure, why not?
Speaker 2 (15:42):
Little sausage Avengers, but Um, yeah, what, you know, Hey,
guess what?
Speaker 1 (15:47):
I guess I'm a injured Jedi then. Cause I heard
the call and this guy, man, I just don't know
this guy. He just messed with the wrong city. I
feel like he messed with the wrong show and I'll
get to the full update.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
What's going on with this. It's just a stupid thing.
I hope that.
Speaker 1 (16:03):
There's not a lot of local people involved in this
because this is not going the way they planned. At
one point, the YouTube kid this weekend was begging you
to not.
Speaker 3 (16:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (16:15):
Okay, dude. All right.
Speaker 1 (16:16):
Just, you know, Edgar Snyder and associates sent us a
box here, Bob. We have not opened it yet. I
don't know what's going to be in it. It might
be Jeep ducks. I don't know what it is. It
could be anything. We'll open the box we got from
Edgar Snyder and associates coming up next. We'll get to
today in free show history to some Steelers roster cut
and trade Facebook comments around seven 25 and Jonas brothers
(16:38):
tickets around eight 30. It's Mikey and Bob. We're having
a problem with our phones already this morning, so sorry
if you're trying to call the station. We'll try to
get them working before 8.30 because that's when we give
away Jonas Brothers tickets, and I think we got to
do just caller number nine for that, so we got
to get it working by 8.30, okay? We'll try, yeah.
(16:59):
Just send us talkback messages for now through the free
iHeartRadio app, and we'll get to some of those. We
got a box here, Bob. Uh, it's from our friends
over at Edgar Snyder and associates, great friends of the show.
We appreciate all their support. It's okay. Here we go.
Speaker 2 (17:15):
Uh, it says, enjoy our Mikey and Bob ducks.
Speaker 1 (17:19):
Wow. Okay.
Speaker 2 (17:21):
So, uh, it looks like they've put some other stuff
in here.
Speaker 1 (17:24):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (17:24):
All right.
Speaker 5 (17:25):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (17:25):
They may. Okay. All right. People are just making this
Mikey and Bob. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (17:29):
We got little, okay. There's like a baseball doc.
Speaker 1 (17:32):
Okay. It says Edgar Snyder and associates on it. And
then there's a little, uh, There's a little pirate duck, too.
Speaker 2 (17:38):
Oh, that's nice. Oh, they got lots of other little.
Speaker 1 (17:42):
Okay, we got some tchotchkes in here, too. There's some tchotchkes.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
Here's a potato chip clip.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
Okay, all right. Hey, thank you, Edgar Snyder and Associates. Hey,
by the way, running out of room on my dash
for Jeep ducks. Love the trinkets.
Speaker 2 (17:56):
Gonna have to start stacking them on top of each other.
Speaker 1 (17:58):
Dude, you need to get a bin. I know, I do.
You need to get a bin. And then, like, sometimes
when I take a sharp turn, ducks fly all over.
I'm not... I'm not used to this yet, but thank
you again to Edgar Snyder and associates carrying everybody over there.
Thank you so much for just, I don't know, finding
humor in what we do and supporting our show. And
of course, thanks to our friends at the C Harper
auto group for the, the rides we're driving around right now.
(18:21):
All right. It's right around seven o'clock time for us
to take you back to a moment in the show
that made us laugh, made a smile.
Speaker 2 (18:26):
We're going to Ohio for today in free show history.
Speaker 1 (18:29):
Here we go. in Freak Show History. Today in Freak
Show History. All right, there was a water main break
in Ohio.
Speaker 8 (18:43):
Columbus man fed up when construction crews hit a water
line outside of his home.
Speaker 2 (18:49):
Since the water was cut.
Speaker 8 (18:50):
Off in his home and there was plenty flowing in
the streets, as you can see, he decided to take
his shower outdoors.
Speaker 2 (18:58):
Completely naked.
Speaker 1 (18:59):
I mean, the water was shooting up like a fountain. Yeah,
I mean, a water main break. Out of the street.
Where the water, yeah, is shooting out. Yeah. It's in
the middle of the fountain. This guy went out, went
outside of his house, into his neighborhood, into his street,
completely butt-ass naked, and showered in the water main break fountain.
Sun's out, buns out. Sun's out, buns out.
Speaker 4 (19:21):
Literally in Columbus's Clintonville neighborhood. Guy in the street here, hot.
and it had nothing to do with the weather. Craziest
thing I've ever seen.
Speaker 2 (19:29):
Craziest thing I've ever seen.
Speaker 4 (19:30):
This dude telling construction workers he was in the middle
of a shower.
Speaker 1 (19:34):
Oh, so that's what it was. He lives right by
the water main break. He was in the middle of
a shower. This guy just looked outside and go, well,
they got water out there. Let me continue the shower.
Speaker 4 (19:45):
This is what you call next level anger.
Speaker 1 (19:48):
He came out of his house in a bath towel,
kind of cussing us and said, I was in the
shower and you guys shut the water off. And next
thing we knew, he dropped the towel and finished the shower.
Hell yeah.
Speaker 4 (19:59):
Workers here tell us after this guy took a shower
street side, he was so mad he gave them a
few more four letter words before storming off. We attempted
to speak with a man in the photo. No one
answered when we stopped by his home.
Speaker 1 (20:11):
Okay. I mean, really, he didn't want to talk to
the local news about himself being naked in the middle
of his street, showering in the middle of a water main. Surprising.
He doesn't want to champion that and forever be known
as the naked washing in a water main break in Columbus,
Ohio guy.
Speaker 5 (20:28):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (20:28):
I'm surprised he didn't agree to just do a sit
down interview on camera right there. It's a naked person
making the show again. And it's Ohio making the show
once again. Hey, our friend Aunt Kaka sent us a
talkback message from the Bruno Mars show at Accresure this
past Saturday. Talkback message is brought to us by the
(20:49):
Pavement Group. Hi, boys. It's Aunt Kaka.
Speaker 9 (20:52):
Check it out, friend.
Speaker 10 (20:55):
And Grandma Schitzke.
Speaker 11 (20:57):
Checking in from the Bruno Mars sponsor.
Speaker 1 (20:59):
And I would just like to give a oowee. Say
something nice. Say something nice.
Speaker 2 (21:06):
Hold on, we're doing oowee, say something nice from the
Bruno show.
Speaker 1 (21:13):
Say something nice. Say something nice.
Speaker 11 (21:17):
To whoever on the romantic dedications board.
Speaker 6 (21:21):
Wrote, I used my dead dad's life insurance to buy
these tickets.
Speaker 3 (21:25):
All right.
Speaker 1 (21:26):
You're hysterical.
Speaker 3 (21:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (21:27):
Love you.
Speaker 8 (21:29):
Happy birthday, Bob.
Speaker 2 (21:31):
Not Bob's birthday.
Speaker 1 (21:32):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (21:33):
Bob's birthday is New Year's Day. Everybody, hold on.
Speaker 1 (21:36):
It's actually my friend Mike's birthday week, so. It's not
my birthday, though. Celebrate accordingly.
Speaker 3 (21:41):
Nope.
Speaker 2 (21:42):
We don't do birthday weeks around.
Speaker 1 (21:44):
Listen, it's my friend. My birthday's Thursday. It's my friend
Mike's birthday week. I'm not telling anybody what to do
on Thursday. Celebrate accordingly. It's my birthday Thursday. I don't know.
I don't actually know what's going to happen on Thursday.
But we'll find out because it is my birthday on Thursday.
Thank you, Aunt Kaka, for the nice message from the
(22:04):
Bruno Mars show. By the way, a couple other concert
things from over the weekend. Harry Styles is doing his
residency thing at Madison Square Garden. He said at one
point in his show over the weekend, we're at Madison
Square Garden, home of the world champion New York Knicks.
And then he said, and they also do weddings.
Speaker 10 (22:21):
Oh, boy.
Speaker 1 (22:22):
Because, you know, Harry and Taylor used to date. And,
you know, they're still good with each other. They're still friends.
And then Zoe Kravitz, Harry's fiance, she went to the wedding, too.
Speaker 2 (22:32):
So, hey, that's good. You know, you could still be
friends with your exes and still have a nice relationship.
Speaker 1 (22:37):
You know, friendly relationship. And Harry knew what he was
doing by saying that too. Yeah. Well, Harry shot out,
you know, the crowd would scream and then everybody'd be like.
Speaker 2 (22:45):
And then it'd be the clip. Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 1 (22:47):
So it's his way of, that's Harry Styles way of
congratulating Taylor and Travis, I think, but Olivia Rodrigo changed
the damn game over the weekend. Olivia Rodrigo leveled up
to a pedestal where there aren't a lot of performers
over the weekend. Cause not only, Did she put together
(23:08):
an incredible festival? She's moving money towards things that she
really believes in. And yes, this does. And this is
inspired from the late 90s Lilith Fair, you know, Sarah
McLachlan and all female lineup because there weren't a lot.
There weren't any like all female festivals. That was a
(23:28):
real thing in the 90s, by the way. It was.
I mean, it was groundbreaking back in the 90s, and
it's good to see Olivia Rodrigo sort of doing it
again here. The Daisy Chain Fields Festival. I mean, it's
Olivia Rodrigo. Chapel Roan was there. Dochi was there. All-female lineup.
She announced that the show, they'd already raised $ 10 million
(23:50):
to 10 nonprofits. Planned Parenthood was one of them. National
Women's Law Center, Black Mamas Matter Alliance. And then Melinda
French Gates, she pledged another $ 10 million. So that took
the donations up to $ 20 million for very, very specific
(24:12):
things like Planned Parenthood. things that the current administration is
trying to take away olivia rodrigo's like if they're going
to take away funding let's use our powers to fund
it too and then i mean she brought out alanis
morissette she brought out stevie nicks just legends she brought
out sarah mclaughlin who again was like part of the
original lilith fair in the late 90s and you know
(24:33):
what's so cool is like you know i was talking
to my daughter addison about this over the weekend and
we were talking about it i'm like it's so cool
what rodrigo did like that is to use her powers
and throw this big festival did you see the overhead
shots of it yeah it's like a sea of endless
people and it's all women and allies too i saw
a clip where uh there's somebody going around just asking
(24:55):
dads to name an olivia rodrigo song you know some
were just like i'm here for my daughter i'm here
to support all this.
Speaker 2 (25:01):
I might not listen to the music but then some
guys were like just.
Speaker 1 (25:04):
One song like do you want me to sing it
all lyric for lyric um i wonder if she realizes
a I mean, I'm sure she does, or at least
people that are with her realize what she created, but like,
this is like legacy stuff. This is stuff that could
go on for like 20, 30 years, even past the
time her like performing music. Yeah. Yeah. It really is.
I think what she's created here is, uh, is, is
(25:25):
pretty incredible. And, uh, And just to see who she
brought out and everything like that. And even it gave
me the opportunity over the weekend because I was just like,
I asked my daughter Addison, I'm like, do you know
who Sarah McLachlan is?
Speaker 2 (25:37):
She's like, no. And I'm like, well, first of all,
she sings the In the Arms of the Angels song.
Speaker 1 (25:42):
You know this one. I'm like, you know the Sad
Dog commercial, right? You know that, right? And then I'm like,
I'm just sitting there over the weekend driving her back
to school at Pitt. We're listening to Sarah McLachlan's album
from 1997. And so, dude, Bob, I know we were
just in high. I know the lyrics to like these songs.
(26:03):
Like I listened to Sarah McLachlan too when I was
growing up too. So we're sitting there and I'm like
building a mystery. Believe me.
Speaker 2 (26:13):
Like I'm singing Sarah McLachlan songs. She's looking at me like,
what's gone.
Speaker 1 (26:17):
But you know, that's just another example of how something
like this, this festival, this Daisy chain fields festival.
Speaker 2 (26:24):
Can lead to, you know, like me being a dad.
Speaker 1 (26:26):
And, sharing other just strong female musicians with my daughter.
It's a great thing. And like you said, Bob, it's
legacy stuff for Olivia Rodrigo. And here's another cool thing
that we're doing here on the station tonight. at uh
at 7 p.m iheart radio presents olivia rodrigo songs from
(26:48):
the daisy chain fields festival this is 7 p.m tonight
here on the station uh you'll be able to hear
live performances from her new album you seem pretty sad
for a girl so in love of course you'll sing
drop dead and uh yeah so you'll be able to
hear some of the live from the daisy chain fields
festival that is uh tonight monday night here 7 p.m
(27:10):
on 96.1 kiss from interscope records all right we'll read
some steelers facebook comments after a couple trades and some
roster cuts around 7 25 and we got your chance
at jonas brothers.
Speaker 2 (27:19):
Tickets around 8 30 it's mikey and bob yes.
Speaker 1 (27:27):
Chance for you to win $ 1, 000 this morning and a
full trip to Vegas in just a couple weeks to
see our iHeartRadio Music Festival with BTS and Cardi B
and Zara Larson, Benson Boone, Snoop Dogg, and a lot more.
9-10 your chance to win a full trip and $ 1, 000
here on 96.1 KISS. It is Mikey and Bob. Steelers
(27:47):
made some roster cuts. Steelers made some trades. Then we
read the Facebook comments. We're going to a very deep,
dark place on the internet. Everyone is a GM. Everyone
is a coach. Everyone is going to get traded. Everything sucks.
It's time for Steelers Facebook comments. Steelers got their roster
(28:09):
down to the 53. They kept four quarterbacks. They kept
all their draft picks, including the local guy, Eli Heidenreich.
They traded first-round pick Broderick Jones to the Dallas Cowboys.
We got... Running back Caleb Johnson got traded to the Packers.
Now we're reading Steeler fan Facebook comments here. Glenda T,
yay for big Darnell Washington. I love a big man
(28:32):
like my husband, and I got his jersey last Christmas. Okay,
here we go. And we're off.
Speaker 2 (28:37):
Marley S, that's a solid 53 right there.
Speaker 1 (28:40):
Okay. To guarantee 10 losses. All right. Crispy.
Speaker 2 (28:44):
Let's get back to smash your face football.
Speaker 1 (28:48):
Oh, my God. Smash your face football? Yeah, haven't been
playing it. We got to get back to it, yeah.
Smash mouth football? Maybe we were playing smash mouth football.
Smash your face football. Becky T, all that matters is
that red mullet stays.
Speaker 2 (29:06):
Yeah, Jennings Dunker's on the team.
Speaker 1 (29:08):
He's a rookie. He's good. He's safe, yep.
Speaker 2 (29:09):
Bradley, be in the Steelers' Facebook comments.
Speaker 1 (29:12):
I don't care. I stopped watching the Steelers years ago
when Big Ben hung it up.
Speaker 2 (29:18):
That was it.
Speaker 1 (29:18):
That was it. Ben's not here. I'm not either. I'm
not watching. Tom J., if Tomlin would have kept four quarterback,
Jens would have burnt the stadium down.
Speaker 2 (29:28):
McCarthy's a QB genius, though.
Speaker 1 (29:30):
Okay, sure. Steve S.
Speaker 2 (29:33):
McCarthy's dumber than Tomlin.
Speaker 1 (29:35):
Four quarterbacks and no plan proves it.
Speaker 2 (29:38):
I love this.
Speaker 1 (29:39):
This guy is not... coached. One game yet. Not one.
And we are already in.
Speaker 2 (29:43):
The Facebook comments. He's like, hey, man, this ain't.
Speaker 1 (29:46):
Better than Tomlin. Not one game has counted yet. Not one.
We're in the Steelers' Facebook comments after they make their
roster cuts and a couple trades. Eric R., we got
a grandpa, an average Joe. A couple of kids. No
problem at quarterback at all. Yeah, right. Get ready for
another disappointing season. Jack, I've been a Steelers fan since
(30:08):
the early 70s. Oh, bud, you're the only one.
Speaker 2 (30:12):
They should have made Jack the coach. Well, he also said.
Speaker 1 (30:17):
They made him a ball boy in the 80s. All right.
He's basically McCarthy. Credentials are out.
Speaker 2 (30:23):
I can't even watch these games anymore.
Speaker 1 (30:26):
Steelers football ain't the Steelers I grew up loving.
Speaker 11 (30:30):
Oh, man.
Speaker 1 (30:31):
James G here in the Steelers Facebook comments. Hey, I
know Eli's a cool story, but I'm sure Mount Lebo
has bigger kids than him on their football team. No
way he's an NFL player. Robert M. I hope he
does well, but the whole Mike McCarthy's a Greenfield Pittsburgh
guy pass. He gets to make dumb decisions is already
annoying me.
Speaker 2 (30:52):
All right.
Speaker 1 (30:52):
Not one game in and we're already annoyed with my okay.
We're turning already. Brian C.
Speaker 3 (30:58):
Here.
Speaker 1 (30:59):
I'll be getting Eli's jersey. I just wish his damn
last name was shorter and easier to spell. Steven P.
Why'd they keep Roman Wilson? Any clown off the street
can do what he does. Roman Wilson just out here
catching strikes. Roman Wilson, his entire life has been just
catching footballs. That's it. He's been focused on catching footballs
(31:20):
his entire life.
Speaker 2 (31:21):
You cannot come off the street. Roman Wilson would put.
Speaker 1 (31:24):
You on your... He would throw you 10 yards. If
you lined up, Scott M looks like a roster for
another nine and eight season. And one more here, John,
a trade Mason Rudolph, because if we get to any
point this season where Mason Rudolph is our quarterback, season's over.
(31:50):
All right, we got to get him out of here
because if he goes in, it's over. Season's over. Yep.
We see Mason Rudolph. We see him on that field.
Speaker 2 (31:57):
Just know the season's over.
Speaker 1 (31:59):
And Big Ben in his basement would have done better.
And then there's Mason Rudolph. And then there's Mason Rudolph.
All right, we will get to a sort of bigger
explanation on what's going on and what happened this weekend
with the Star Wars Pepsi machine on Mount Washington around 7.55.
Speaker 2 (32:15):
Jonas Brothers tickets around 8.30. It's Mikey and Bob.
Speaker 1 (32:21):
It's going to be warm out there today with highs
in the upper 80s. And then Tuesday through Thursday, highs
should be in the 90s. There's been some Pittsburgh public
schools who have already called for remote learning Tuesday, Wednesday,
and Thursday this week. It is Mikey and Bob here
on 96.1 KISS. Get caught up with our Mikey and
Bob podcast brought to us by the C.
Speaker 2 (32:38):
Harper Auto Group.
Speaker 1 (32:39):
Also, when you're on the iHeartRadio app, you can send
us talkback messages if you want to get on the show.
Speaker 2 (32:45):
Let's get to this one.
Speaker 3 (32:46):
It's Mikey's birthday.
Speaker 1 (32:49):
It's Mikey's birthday.
Speaker 3 (32:50):
We got a happy birthday, Mikey.
Speaker 1 (32:54):
No, I don't do birthday weeks. No, I just do birthdays.
September 3rd.
Speaker 9 (33:00):
No, no.
Speaker 1 (33:00):
September 3rd. Thursday's my birthday. Let's get to another talkback
message here. Yinzer's on vacation. I guess people are, you know,
trying to get their last summer vacations in here. Most
kids are already back to school and all that. Let's
get to this talkback. Brought to us by One Team Media. Hey,
Mike and Bob.
Speaker 11 (33:20):
It's Rue catching up on the podcast this week. I
just got back from Rehoboth Beach, and I had to
tell you guys that the Yinzers were out and proud
this week.
Speaker 1 (33:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (33:28):
Just so happened the family that we put our stuff
next to for the week, like where you kind of
set up camp at the beach, they had a Pirates
hat on, which obviously made us want to start talking
to them.
Speaker 1 (33:37):
That's it right there. That's the Yinzer Lighthouse. That's the
Yinzer Beacon, Rehoboth Beach. You see the Pirates hat, and
you just know, well, We got Yinzers this week on vacation.
You at least ask at that point, hey, you Pirates fan?
Speaker 2 (33:51):
Pirates, huh? What do you think? Where are you from?
Speaker 11 (33:56):
And they told us they were from Dormont. And my
family were like, oh, we're.
Speaker 1 (34:01):
From Castle Shannon. Perfect. They're just next to each other.
Rehoboth Beach. Where are you from, Dormont?
Speaker 2 (34:07):
Where are you from, Castle Shannon?
Speaker 1 (34:10):
But wait, there's more.
Speaker 11 (34:11):
So then the next tent over just happened to hear
us talking and they were like, wait, you're from Pittsburgh?
Speaker 1 (34:16):
We're from Mount Lebanon.
Speaker 3 (34:17):
No way.
Speaker 11 (34:17):
So like the whole rest of the week, we addressed
ourselves as like where we're from.
Speaker 1 (34:21):
So we're like, hey, Dormant, how you doing? Hey, Dormant,
how you doing?
Speaker 11 (34:25):
Oh, what'd you do last night, Castle Shannon, Mount Leto?
Speaker 1 (34:28):
The best.
Speaker 11 (34:29):
Where did you go get dinner? And it was just
very Yinzer, and it was really fun. And, of course,
Pittsburghers find Pittsburghers on vacation.
Speaker 2 (34:36):
I mean, it's the best.
Speaker 1 (34:37):
Of course, you might walk past somebody with Pirate's gear
or something. Usually don't have 200 feet of beach space, though. Yeah,
lockdown for Yinzers. It's own Western PA neighborhood out there.
Speaker 3 (34:49):
Motley.
Speaker 1 (34:50):
Yeah, you're right. It's a whole yinzer neighborhood out on
Rehoboth beach. That's great.
Speaker 2 (34:56):
That's awesome.
Speaker 1 (34:57):
Shout out, salute to all the families there that found
each other on the beach. All right.
Speaker 2 (35:02):
There's been a local story. I'm sick of this story.
Speaker 1 (35:05):
The damn Pepsi vending machine, the star Wars one up
on Mount Washington. It's been there for like 30 years
and then whatever the influencer came in and took it
in all this stuff. I sort of got to the
bottom of what's going on with this. I think I've
ruined this all. I do not care that I've ruined
this all. This is all stupid. I will get to
(35:27):
what happened this weekend with the Star Wars vending machine
coming up next around 7.55.
Speaker 2 (35:32):
Also, Jonas Brothers tickets around 8.30.
Speaker 1 (35:35):
Got a chance for you to win $ 1, 000 and a
full trip to Vegas in a couple weeks for our
iHeartRadio Music Festival around 9.10.
Speaker 2 (35:40):
It's Mikey and Bob.
Speaker 1 (35:50):
Your chance to win Jonas Brothers tickets coming up this
morning around 8.30. It's Mikey and Bob on 96.1 KISS.
Let's get to this talkback message brought to us by
One Team Media.
Speaker 5 (36:00):
Morning, Mikey and Big Bob.
Speaker 1 (36:01):
I was in Gettysburg.
Speaker 5 (36:02):
I'm going to begin with my husband. And our waiter
was talking about what he knew about Pittsburgh and how
much he loved visiting the pop machine. on Mount Washington
that had the Star Wars graphics, and I got to
be the one to tell him that a bop machine
was stolen over last week, and that he should listen
to Mikey Big Bob and get all of the information.
Speaker 1 (36:24):
So, yeah, we've now reached Gettysburg. All right, they're talking
about the damn Star Wars vending machine in Gettysburg. Again,
if you don't know the story, there's like a 30-year-old
vending machine on Mount Washington next to the fire station
from Phantom Menace, Star Wars movie from 1999. It's been
there for 30 years. It's a relic. You know, sometimes
it works. Sometimes it doesn't. It's not. Who cares? Yeah,
(36:46):
it's crusty looking, but it's supposed to be crusty looking.
So then, you know, this influencer, Braden Days, he says
he's from Los Angeles in his bio. But he told
me over the weekend that he's originally from here and
has only been in L.A. for less than two years.
Don't care where he's from. Don't care the backstory. It's
more what he did, not where he's from. You know,
(37:06):
whether he's originally from here or an out of towner.
He a couple whatever months ago threatened that he was
going to steal the vending machine because his whole Instagram
account is just I steal things.
Speaker 6 (37:17):
Right.
Speaker 3 (37:17):
Right.
Speaker 1 (37:18):
Got over a million followers. And then the vending machine
got taken away. A replacement one that he owns and
painted is put in its place. until he fixes the
other one up, right? This just doesn't sit right, okay?
And there was a call out to the Yin's Vengers
(37:38):
on KDK. They were talking to a guy up on
Mount Washington.
Speaker 7 (37:41):
We got to get a task force here of all
the Yin's or legends. I mean, we need Joe Manganiello
on the case, Michael Keaton, Mike McCarthy, Wiz.
Speaker 1 (37:48):
I need Mikey and Big Bob. Okay, now you got
some real superheroes in there, like legit Joe Manganiello and
Michael Keaton. Those are real superheroes. It's Batman. Right, right.
So I just made a comment to this Braden Days guy,
and I said, this just sucks. I don't care if
it gets fixed up. That sort of takes away the charm.
(38:09):
And then for the people that are going to say, well,
it was broken. Well, no crap, it was broken. Like,
it's a timeless relic. It's not there to be like
a functional pop machine and be like, this is what
keeps everybody thirst-quenched on Mount Washington. And from when this
started to turn, he started to try to play it
off of, I'm doing... I'm going to fix it up
(38:30):
and I'm going to put it back.
Speaker 3 (38:31):
Right.
Speaker 1 (38:31):
I said like cleaning up an antique doesn't make it better.
Even putting it back or doing some sort of benefit
won't make it okay. It was kind of a bad
thing to do when people are really going through some stuff.
at a really.
Speaker 2 (38:45):
Weird time in a lot of our lives, you know?
Speaker 1 (38:47):
It all just started icky and internet too with the,
the big heist video and like all just fake crap.
So when I, when I posted my message to him,
that was just like, Hey, I don't care if your
end game is to fix it up.
Speaker 2 (39:02):
This sucks.
Speaker 1 (39:04):
And this is going to suck no matter what you
do with it, because you've put the city on notice
and Ooh, I stole the vending machine. I got it.
Soon as I posted my thing, I start getting DMs
from the Braden Days guy who threatened that he was
going to steal the machine. He sent me a picture
of the stolen machine. This is just so dumb that
(39:26):
we even have to talk about this on the show,
but it's become just a big enough thing now. And
the news is talking about it. And so I sent
him messages over the weekend and he was, well, I
didn't start it. He started DMing me saying, Hey, can
you tell, He asked if I could take my message down. Listen, man,
I'm done with influencers. I don't know if I'm going
(39:48):
to sound like the old guy yelling at clouds here,
but like some influencers, you're fine. But guys like this,
we're done with this. Can you take it down? I'm
going to tell you exactly what this guy said. He said, hey,
I'm releasing a full video and I'm going to explain
everything that happened. Can you give me a call or
(40:08):
wait for the video to come out? I don't have
any bad intentions. I'm going to fix the machine. Can
you hold on a few hours before promoting that comment
you shared? I'd appreciate it because... The hate has kind
of spiraled out of control, reasonably so. Oh, bud, what happened?
(40:30):
Can you take your message down?
Speaker 3 (40:33):
Why?
Speaker 1 (40:33):
You didn't wait for us. I ain't waiting for you, bud.
So I wrote him back. I said, just tell me
the end game. He said, I'm making a full statement
in a few hours. This was on Saturday. We haven't
heard from this guy. He deleted all his videos. He said,
I'm editing it now. And I said, so you're not
going to tell me the end game? He said, I'd
prefer for people to hear the full scope of everything
(40:54):
from my own mouth. Okay, well, bud, you don't get
to do that. You don't get to decide when I
decide that I don't like this. Yeah, yeah. You don't
tell me what... He said, can you respect my wishes
to share this on my own accord? And I said,
(41:15):
you're just going to share it then and leave me
in the dark? I don't understand. It wasn't like a... Dude,
can you respect my wishes? Like, he made a hype video. Yeah,
what happened to the hype video that you're going to
come steal the machine, bud, and now you're in my DMs?
Big heist. Can you respect my wishes? He said, the
media got it wrong. I'm not from L.A. I was
born and raised in Pittsburgh. That's how I knew about
(41:36):
the machine to begin with. And I said, your bio
says L.A., not Pittsburgh. And then he just says, the
machine's getting repaired. I want to get an actual sign
made for the fire department to talk about the history
and unique weird story the machine has because the firemen
there are just the guardians of it since it was
abandoned by Pepsi a few years ago. And then I
(41:59):
want to host a party for the city. And then
I said, and this is very key to the whole
story here, okay? Because now we want to know who
locally was involved in this. Is there anybody locally that
was involved in this? Yeah, because this thing disappeared in
the middle of the day. So I said, do the
firefighters have any clue you're fixing this up? Do they
(42:23):
own it or does Pepsi? The Braden days guy who
has the machine said they own it. Pepsi gave it
to him years ago. It's privately owned and they don't
have the funds to repair it. Okay. Okay. And then
he said, And I asked him, I said, they're not
in on it or Pepsi's not in on it.
Speaker 2 (42:44):
Is this all you?
Speaker 1 (42:45):
And he said, I have complete permission from the owners
of the machine to make my videos. And then he said,
Chris Hoffman with CBS even published a reel talking about
how it was a staunt LOL video. And again, Chris
Hoffman did a whole thing on it and talked to
a guy in Mount Washington.
Speaker 7 (43:04):
We've got to get a task force here of all
the Yinzer legends. I mean, we need Joe Manganiello on
the case, Michael Keaton, Mike McCarthy, Wiz. I need Mikey
and Big Bob.
Speaker 1 (43:13):
And then from Braden Days, this was supposed to be
something super fun that everyone eventually was excited about. In time,
I believe they will.
Speaker 2 (43:21):
But that's up for Pittsburghers to decide.
Speaker 1 (43:23):
And I said.
Speaker 2 (43:25):
I hope that all works out for you, man.
Speaker 1 (43:27):
But whatever you set out to accomplish with this, I
don't think I fixed it up is going to smooth
this over now. And he said completely the machine was broken.
It inevitably was going to be disposed of from the
fire department. Hold on. No chance that was going to happen.
Zero chance. There are so many establishments on Mount Washington
(43:48):
that will take that from them.
Speaker 2 (43:50):
That will move it if the firefighters are sick of it.
Speaker 1 (43:53):
And it's featured even on Visit Pittsburgh as like a
sight to see in the city. I do not believe
that it was going to be thrown away if some
social media prank here. Oh, he saved us! Get out
of here! This all turned on him and then he
didn't want to take responsibility for his own actions. Mm-hmm.
(44:13):
And then he was begging you to take stuff down
because it all turned. I said, you decided it was
yours to fix. And I think that rubbed a lot
of people the wrong way. And he said, this isn't,
I'm a hero for fixing the vending machine. And I
hope it's not coming across this way. Just, I would
deeply appreciate you letting me first issue my own statement
(44:35):
before posting about our conversation. I have not heard from
him since then because... I still had one more trick
up my sleeve. He made a comment because Bottle Rocket,
the Bottle Rocket, you know, social club, Bottle Rocket. They
(44:56):
were talking about the $ 10, 000 because Pepsi donated $ 10, 000 to
the fire department. Bottle Rocket said the $ 10, 000 was donated
to the fire department, not to the Pepsi machine. I
assume it went towards fighting fires in Braden days. The
guy that threatened the city and said, I'm stealing your
relic Pepsi machine, Pittsburgh. Try to stop me. He said
(45:18):
the comment to Bottle Rocket. He said the church burned
down two blocks away. So I thought, all right, maybe
this guy's in on it and firefighters and whatever and
stuff like this. You don't make a comment calling out
Pittsburgh firefighters saying, all right, How did they let a
(45:40):
church burn.
Speaker 2 (45:41):
Down up on Mount Washington two blocks away?
Speaker 1 (45:43):
That's weird, too. That's the part where we have real
big problems, dude.
Speaker 2 (45:49):
Not just, oh, I want to fix the machine up.
Speaker 1 (45:52):
Now you are taunting Pittsburgh firefighters, dude. And on the
back end telling you that, like, oh, I'm doing this,
it's for good. Let me release my stake. Well, Pittsburgh
really likes and rides for you guys. Let me release my...
Out of here, bud. Out of here, bud. Put the
old one back. No more videos. Get out of town.
(46:14):
Don't care what your intentions were. Now you're ripping on firefighters.
I don't care if you're originally from here. I don't
care if you're out in LA. I don't care if
you're from Russia. I don't care if you're from Mexico.
You came in our town. You said, I'm stealing this thing.
It went away. Now things have turned on you. And
now you're, you're, you're rambling. You're laughing at firefighters because
(46:38):
a church burned down up on Mount Washington. Dude, this
was not the play, bud. The sad part is, he
could have done all this without making it a four
clicks YouTube video. He could have made it a really
genuine thing. It's too far gone at this point, though.
Oh yeah, it's done at this point. Too far gone
at this point. Put the machine back and walk away.
(46:58):
I'm telling you. He already deleted all the videos, right?
He has deleted all of his videos that have to
do with the Pepsi machine. And dude, you just don't
mess with Pittsburgh. And when you come for us, when
you start using our show and using my voice for your,
that's when we're, that's when it starts. That's when we
start to say, all right, we're in it now. Let's go.
(47:20):
So Braden days, put it back. get the hell out
of here. Anybody else who was involved with it, like locally,
he blew it. Cause it stinks. Yeah. Yikes. And again,
I'm not the protector of this thing. I'm involved in this.
Speaker 2 (47:38):
Cause this dude called us out.
Speaker 1 (47:39):
Yeah. Yeah. And me and Bob do not take lightly
to that. And I know it's a stupid Pepsi machine,
but you all know that it's more than a Pepsi machine.
I don't know how he thought this was going to end,
but buddy, no, All right, we will get to some
Jonas Brothers tickets, your chance to go see them around
8.30 and another shot for you to win a full
(48:00):

Speaker 3 (49:02):
Hey.
Speaker 1 (49:02):
When is it going to come down to the American Legion?
I mean, listen. When you get an invite like that,
you can hear the smooth R & B playing in
the background. This might have been after Bruno Mars and
Bob from Oakmont was just feeling it. But, man, listen.
it's like getting a Yinzer golden ticket right here. Wayne's
going to come down to the American Legion.
Speaker 2 (49:25):
Wayne's going to come down to the American Legion.
Speaker 1 (49:27):
American Legion.
Speaker 2 (49:27):
Down to the American Legion.
Speaker 1 (49:31):
We'll get a little weird i'm down okay we'll get
a little weird okay i'm down.
Speaker 2 (49:37):
Listen i don't know what that means.
Speaker 1 (49:40):

Speaker 3 (49:45):

that bob i like it okay all right yeah but
the good old days oh yeah like the good old
days our filet of fish song that we made on
youtube so many years ago yeah first youtube video cuz
no it wasn't our first one our first youtube video
was bob dancing outside of a water main break in
our uh in green tree yeah i love messages from
(50:36):
bob from oakmont because they all sound like that invites
us to the American Legion, and says, hey, I'm going
to get some fish, rub it on my nipples. Let's
pay for some old-timers over here in this conversation and
do his phone.
Speaker 2 (50:49):
They're never going to talk to Bobby Diggie again.
Speaker 1 (50:51):
They're like, hey, Bob's a little weird, man. He's talking
about rubbing fish on his nipples or something like that.
I don't know if we should let him in here anymore.
All right, your chance at Jonas Brothers tickets coming.
Speaker 2 (51:00):
Up next around 8.30. It's Mikey and Bob.
Speaker 5 (51:02):
96.1.
Speaker 3 (51:03):
Kiss.
Speaker 1 (51:04):

one team media giggles sam here okay just calling in

vibes hey wait a minute let me go back to
her nickname calling us bleeps and giggles obviously i would
be the bleeps and you would be the giggles like
we it's great we are bleeps and giggles it's great
(51:26):
i'm bleeps and he's giggles it's It's a stupendous nickname
for us, Sam. Can we get the Bob laugh track
just to start us off right? Yeah.
Speaker 10 (51:35):
All right.
Speaker 5 (51:35):
Love you, Bear.
Speaker 1 (51:36):
Happy birthday, Bob. Yeah. Okay. You know, we said if
anybody's going through a rough time, this is almost a
guaranteed smile and laugh right here. One day in the studio,
I trusted a fart. A little too much. Yep.
Speaker 2 (51:49):
A little too much. I got trust issues, okay?
Speaker 1 (51:52):
You can probably tell by the rant I just went
on about a Star Wars Pepsi machine. I got trust issues.
I trusted a fart and this would happen. Did you
poop your pants?
Speaker 11 (52:03):
No, you didn't.
Speaker 1 (52:04):
You didn't? No, you didn't. I did. Is that you
pooped your pants? You make it seem like I pooped
your pants. You make it seem like I'm a child.
What else is it? You pooped your pants. Did you
(52:31):
throw your underwear away? I did. What did you do?
You can win a full trip to Vegas to see
Zara Larson and so many more artists. We're a couple
(52:52):

Speaker 2 (53:02):
Bob, right now it's time to say something nice.
Speaker 1 (53:05):
Oh, wee! Say something nice. Say something nice.
Speaker 2 (53:10):
All right, let's get to this message.
Speaker 6 (53:12):
Good morning, Mikey and Bob. It's your friendly Spanish teacher.
This message is for Aunt Kaka.
Speaker 1 (53:18):
Aunt Kaka, yeah, one of our great listeners. She had
a rough week last week. They had to put their
dog down.
Speaker 6 (53:23):
I am getting caught up on the podcast and heard
your message about your fur baby crossing the rainbow bridge.
Speaker 3 (53:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (53:29):
I just wanted to let you know my heart goes
out to you. I'm sending all the light and love
your way, and I'm hoping that you will be able
to smile soon.
Speaker 1 (53:39):
Yeah. Have a good day. Well, we did hear from
Aunt Kaka at the Bruno Mars show, and it did
sound like she was having an okay time. It's still rough,
but it was a good distraction for her.
Speaker 3 (53:49):
Wee!
Speaker 1 (53:51):
Say something nice Say something nice So you know we
got our guy George Who always leaves us messages You

I just want to say that Every time you guys
have George on, I'm listening intently because he always has
something wise to say.
Speaker 7 (54:26):

Speaker 12 (54:27):
And then, you know, to bring it home with y'all,
take it easy. I love him. Okay. Anyway, send that
message to George.
Speaker 3 (54:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (54:33):
Love you.
Speaker 3 (54:33):
Bye.
Speaker 1 (54:34):
There you go, George.
Speaker 2 (54:34):
A lot of people out here just love your positivity.
Speaker 1 (54:38):
Love your messages. We love George, too. You know what
George is like, dude? George is like that one guy
who does the dad advice on TikTok.
Speaker 2 (54:45):
Like, George is our TikTok dad.
Speaker 1 (54:47):
Yeah. You know? Yeah.
Speaker 2 (54:48):
George left me a message, like, last week.
Speaker 1 (54:50):
We were talking about ceiling fans for some reason. He's like, hey, Mikey,
I can install ceiling fans. No problem, brother. Just give
me a call. All right. Y'all take it easy. Y'all
take it easy.
Speaker 2 (54:58):
Like, he is our TikTok dad.
Speaker 1 (55:00):
What's that guy's name? Like, Bo? That's all.
Speaker 2 (55:02):
He's on TikTok, you know, showing kids how to do stuff.
Speaker 1 (55:03):
Yeah, I know who you're talking about. I feel like
George is our, you know, Mikey and Bob, the movers.
Speaker 2 (55:09):
He's like our TikTok dad.
Speaker 1 (55:10):
I feel like George can probably fix or do just
about anything.
Speaker 2 (55:15):
Well, nice message here. We always like when listeners are
showing love to each other.
Speaker 9 (55:18):
All right.
Speaker 1 (55:19):
We got a chance for you to win a full
trip to Vegas, $ 1, 000 for our iHeartRadio Music Fest around 9, 10.
Music Festival, that is coming up in a few minutes
here on 96.1 KISS. It is Mikey and Bob. We'll
also have some Steelers roster cut and trade Facebook comments
as the Steelers send offensive tackle Broderick Jones to the
Cowboys for some picks and running back Caleb Johnson to
(55:40):
the Packers for some picks. Steelers Facebook comments are Around 940.
Let's get to this talkback message here brought to us
by The Pavement Group.
Speaker 10 (55:48):
Hey, Mikey and Bob. This is Kelly from Freedom PA.
I just wanted to give you guys a big shout out.
I had my bridal shower over the weekend. And my
cousin Melissa is friends with Bob's wife. And she was
able to get me a signed picture of you guys.
(56:08):
It says, congrats. Hope you have a wonderful day and
a long marriage. Love is real, Bob. This is probably
one of my favorite gifts.
Speaker 1 (56:17):
Wow, Bob. I did not sign a picture. Did you
just sign a picture for a bridal shower? Yeah, I
signed it like Friday night and the shower was Saturday.
And I'm just like, I can get Mike to sign it,
but maybe he can't make it here to sign it
right now. So I just signed it.
Speaker 2 (56:32):
I can always make it over your house, bud. It
wasn't over my house.
Speaker 1 (56:35):
Yeah, I can make it over your house. What picture
did you use? Our Eaton Park cookie picture. Oh, that's
a good picture. Of us holding Eaton Park cookies. I
had to draw a mustache on it.
Speaker 5 (56:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (56:44):
Oh, yeah. And then I had to be respectful with
the message because it was... Yeah, love is real. Yeah. Yeah,
I wasn't drawing, like, nipples on me or anything. I
don't know, though.
Speaker 2 (56:54):
It's for a bridal shower.
Speaker 1 (56:56):
Yeah. I'm pretty sure you could have drawn anatomy all
over us and they would have been like, you know. Hey,
by the way, speaking of speaking of weddings and all
that stuff, we got a wedding invitation. Did we? Yeah.
By the way, like. We have not gone to a
listener wedding yet, but we do appreciate everybody who keeps
sending us invitations. Carissa and Tanner, look at this, man.
(57:19):
This is wedding invitations. All right, so there's the invite
to the wedding, and here's the letter. Let me see
the actual invite. That is fancy. Yeah, it's fancy paper, man.
It's that fancy paper. Mikey and Bob, hi, my name's Carissa.
My old coworker, Jen, had you do a birthday cameo
for me back in June. It's the cake in the
(57:40):
break room, girl. You mentioned you wanted an invite to
the wedding, and here it is. We would love for
you to be our guest. When Tanner and I first
got together, we rode to work every morning. We listened
to the show. Looking back, I feel so sentimental about
those mornings. The four of us had some great times together,
whether you both knew it or not. No better way
(58:00):
to start the day than with a laugh. We so
hope you can come. I also wanted to mention there
will be a lot of cookies. See you in there.
carissa and tanner all right well i don't even know
the date we'll have to look at the invitation everything
but we're in for.
Speaker 9 (58:15):
A lot of cookies always i mean a lot of
cookies that's how you lure us places that's how you
can lure us into a trap um we feel incredibly
special when people invite us to their weddings like that's your.
Speaker 1 (58:26):
Send back a song request like they have this whole
cart you fill out what songs you want to hear
so that's pretty sweet yeah look at that Uh, we
feel incredibly honored when people invite us to their wedding,
because I mean, like if we show up, it's two
people that aren't in your family or something like there
was somebody that was on the line of, should we
invite them or not? And you had to say no,
(58:48):
because what if Mikey and Bob show up? Right. So
what do you want? Chicken or fish, you know? Uh,
so thank you both, um, for inviting us to your wedding.
It means a lot to us, Carissa and Tanner. Thank you.
We're going to have some more Jonas Brothers tickets to
give away tomorrow morning around 8.30 here on on 96.1 KISS.
(59:11):
It's Mikey and Bob. Up next, though, your chance to
win $ 1, 000 and a full trip to Vegas for our
iHeartRadio Music Festival. Tickets to both nights of the show, airfare, hotel,
ground transportation, all taken care of. We'll do that coming
up next. Bob? We must check in with the Pittsburgh
police scanner right now because as everybody knows, there was
(59:32):
a big Bruno Mars concert in town this weekend, right?
Speaker 3 (59:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (59:36):
So let's check in real quick with one thing on
the Pittsburgh police scanner. Again, a couple of people listen
to the scanner and report on what is happening in
and around our city. downtown under the sixth street bridge
callers said they walked by two people doing some riverbed
romance oh boy watch out bruno mars what did you
(01:00:02):
do to these yinzers bruno set the mood i mean
you can't even wait till you get home take it
under the bridge to put it on your partner Under
the bridge. Under the bridge downtown. Where we had some
riverbed love. Under the bridge downtown. The sweet sounds of
Bruno Mars got him going. That's what it was, man.
(01:00:25):
A little that's what I like, you know. Just late
night sensual with Bruno and uh-uh. Nope, not even wait
until we get home. You're going to end up with
under the bridge bumps. Oh, you don't want the 6th
Street Bridge under the bridge bumps. Get a river rash
on you.
Speaker 2 (01:00:44):
That's what's happening in and around our city.
Speaker 1 (01:00:47):
Ding! All right, listen. Bob's got an idea here that
just needs to be brought on the show because pirates,
you can go ahead and take this one for free
because Bob should be paid by your marketing department for
this one.
Speaker 2 (01:01:00):
By the way, Buccos won in St.
Speaker 5 (01:01:02):
Louis.
Speaker 1 (01:01:02):
They took the series. Uh, they are, uh, they're back tomorrow, right?
Off day today, they'll be back. Uh, and start a
six-game homestand on Tuesday. Home all weekend. Yeah, playing the Giants.
Paul Skeens will be pitching tomorrow for the Buccos. What
do you got there, Pop? Pirates, this has been in
front of their face for seasons now. How haven't they done,
(01:01:24):
you know, the green weenie, right? The green weenie was
a phenomenon with Pirates fans before we were born, right?
Like 70s, like, yeah, we are family time. How haven't
they done the green weenie bobble? You know, like, how
don't we have a bobble weenie? or a wobble weenie
oh my god well if you call it if you
call it a bobble weenie it sounds weird but a
(01:01:45):
wobble weenie sounds fun so pirates wobble weenie giveaway night
it's just a green like and it was a pickle
right the green weenies it was a plastic pickle that
had like things in it you would shake it would
make noise right was that it um a wobble weenie
would be unbelievable It's like a bobblehead giveaway, but it's
just a weenie that wobbles. Come on, Pirates. What are
(01:02:08):
you doing? Pirates got that one for free there. It's
been sitting there for years. You don't even need a
player or anything like that. It's wobble weenie night at
PNC Park. Get it done, Pirates. See Aaron Donalds back
in the NFL? That's terrifying. Well, for everybody else except
the Rams, yeah. Of course, played at Pitt from Penn Hills.
He's won three defensive player of the years. He's unstoppable.
(01:02:29):
He's been retired for two and a half years and
he's just sitting around boarding. Just, I can still throw
these people around. I wonder if he's just watching football,
just going, I can still get to the quarterback. And
after two and a half years, he's now back with the, uh,
with the L.A. Rams.
Speaker 2 (01:02:45):
Hey, good on him, man.
Speaker 1 (01:02:47):
It's something he obviously loves and obviously has been a huge,
massive part of his life. And he was just sitting
around saying, you know, I could do this again. So
they now have Miles Garrett, you know, the guy that
beat Mason Rudolph with his helmet. He's been a defensive
player of the year. And Aaron Donald. Just really happy
the Rams are in the NFC. and not the, uh,
the AFC.
Speaker 3 (01:03:07):
All right.
Speaker 1 (01:03:07):
It's Mikey and Bob here on 96, one kiss. Obviously
we've been talking, uh, ad nauseum now, like I'm sick
of it. You're probably sick of it. It's going to
make the news again today. Probably the damn star Wars
vending machine up on Mount Washington. Um, you know, I,
like I said earlier, I was DMing with the guy
the whole time. He wanted me to wait before I
(01:03:28):
revealed that he was just going to fix it up.
And It's this whole thing for clout, and we've just
gotten sick of this story. It made KDK over the weekend.
What happened to the original? It may not be Order 66.
Star Wars fans, you know what I'm talking about right there. Yeah,
this is Chris Hoffman here from KDK making great Star
Wars references. But there is a disturbance in the force.
Speaker 7 (01:03:47):
I've seen a lot of crazy stuff up here on
Mount Washington.
Speaker 1 (01:03:49):
All right, this is just a yinzer wearing a Cam
Hayward shirt. He's up on Mount Washington. Like, you see
some guy just randomly walking in a Cam Hayward shirt,
you got to talk to somebody in Mount Washington.
Speaker 2 (01:03:58):
Yeah, go see that guy.
Speaker 7 (01:04:00):
But I've never seen anybody mess with this vending machine
until this week.
Speaker 1 (01:04:03):
Neighbors on Mount Washington have no clue where the machine went.
It has pretty much a cult following at this point.
The Star Wars.
Speaker 7 (01:04:09):
Pepsi vending machine and the Terrible Towel are one and
the same, all right?
Speaker 1 (01:04:13):
You just don't mess with them. I don't know if
it's on Terrible Towel level, but it is a pretty
sweet thing that Ian's do not like when people mess
with it. He is not. Don't mess with it. Don't
mess with it. A TikToker with close to a million
followers on the app is getting the finger pointed at him. Yeah,
because he made videos saying he was going to steal
it and this is what he does. That's the Braden
Days guy. As he made comments about wanting to take it.
(01:04:35):
They post claiming responsibility that's finding its way on social media.
Speaker 9 (01:04:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:04:39):
It's not available anymore. Yeah, he's deleted all his videos
once he started DMing me over the weekend and I
told him what you know, what the reaction really is
to this. And then he deleted all of his videos.
He's going to post a follow-up video at some point,
but now he's going to, I mean, an apology video,
(01:04:59):
maybe at this point, I'm going to put it back
and let's all forget. I, I took it like, I
don't know. The call for help to find the original machine.
Isn't going out to Obi-Wan Kenobi, but instead Jedi in
a system where, A little closer to home. You mean
to tell me local news just called the people that
are going to be called out here? Local Jedis?
Speaker 7 (01:05:18):
We got to get a task force here of all
the Yinzer legends. I mean, we need Joe Manganiello on
the case.
Speaker 1 (01:05:23):
Michael Keaton. Mike McCarthy.
Speaker 3 (01:05:25):
Wiz.
Speaker 7 (01:05:25):
I need Mikey and Big Bob.
Speaker 1 (01:05:27):
What a list. What a list. He definitely called us
out on the Yinzvengers list there. And you know what?
Like a bat signal up in the sky. Maybe Michael
Keaton didn't see it. Maybe Manganiello didn't see it. Mike
McCarthy's busy with other stuff. Wiz Khalifa is just, you know, running.
(01:05:47):
Wiz is Wiz. But if you want to call us
local Jedi and say we're part of this whole thing
and just, you know, call us out like we got
to get to the we got to the bottom of it.
We're still getting to the bottom of it. But basically,
the guy took it to fix it up, wanted to
put it back and everything, went about this the entire
wrong way, and talked crap about firefighters, basically, which that's
(01:06:11):
the part that really sits bad with me, is the
taunting that he did. Using our show, using our voices,
things like that, the taunting that he did. Just making
a video like it's some great heist, and in reality,
it's yeah it's not it's lame in reality it's just
lame and he got the whole city upset at him
and yeah obviously i it's the saga's not done yet
(01:06:35):
it'll just show back up i think he's probably gonna
put it back up you know he should put it
back up at 2 30 in the morning and then
just yeah leave and then just leave go back to
wherever he's from or wherever he lives i don't know
You ready to wrap the show up here? It smells
so bad in here. You better hope somebody doesn't come
(01:06:57):
in from outside. Oh, I don't care.
Speaker 2 (01:06:58):
Do you think when the studio smells weird?
Speaker 1 (01:07:03):
This is enough to make my eyes water. Okay, well.
It smells like when a porta potty with you. Okay. Oh,
it's bad. Don't blame me. I didn't do nothing. Don't
blame you. It's you. No, I'm sitting over here. Not
doing nothing. Not the stinky kid in class. I am.

Speaker 2 (01:07:20):
Why are you rubbing your eyes? Because it keeps getting stronger.
Your eyes watering?

their own Pokemon? Oh, wow.

Put a pirate patch on him. Yeah. Pikachu's got some
black in him, too. Well, I mean, like, all right.
