Draft glow on you this morning. I'm glowing today. Yeah,
you are glowing glow dude. You came in here and
you have not stopped talking about going down to the
to the NFL Draft last night. You're like, you're just
sitting here just like, Yeah, we did it, We did
it. It all works smooth, We did it. Such a cool experience, man. Oh,

I mean we're going to talk about it for the
next four hours. It's one of the biggest days in
the history of Pittsburgh yesterday, right, Yeah, three hundred and
twenty thousand people. They're estimating breaking a new NFL Draft
crowd record. I'd be honest, it might be uh that
might be up for the taking again today, right yeah, yeah, actually, yeah,

it's impossible to get.

More than that today. Bob.

You went down there with your your son Jack, your
daughter Jordan was working down there volunteering.

Uh yeah, just how I how was it? It was awesome?

It was amazing, like and it was pretty smooth, about
as smooth as it could be. Like I expected pure
chaos getting down there and getting in and everything to
be completely honest. And then what was about like one
o'clock yesterday, we started seeing reports from random people that
the parking ride lots were full or filling or yeah.

Yeah. I uh.

I pulled up at like five it was around five
to the parking ride lot and the candless and the
lot full sign was up. Yeah, and I'm like, holy crap,
like all right, gotta figure something out. But then I
just I pulled into the lot and they found a spot.

Dude. You know what it is.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
Though, it's they left a lot full sign up once
it hit capacity. But people are coming on and off
those buses, so as they rotate through like every fifteen minutes,
yeah or whatever. This twenty minutes that they arrived. Yeah,
people are leaving as they're coming, you know.

What I mean.

Like it was a good flow a p right.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
I had no problem finding parking And we literally walked
over to the bus, hopped on the bus. Yeah, and
we were one of the last people on the bus
that we jumped on. Yeah, and we were on the
HOV lane within like ten minutes. Bus smell okay, uh yeah, yeah,
way back did it smell?

Okay? I didn't go all the way. I didn't go deep.
I didn't go deep in the bus. Okay, I didn't
go deep. I can't you staying near the front of
the bus, by by the.

Door, I can't confirm what happened in the back of
the bus. Okay, I'll tell you right now. We have
a couple of Pittsburgh sports moments that, like, you know,
live with with all of us Insers, you know, immaculate reception,
Quato dropping the.

Ball, mass home run, things like that sticks. Uh, saying
the pick.

Is in when the Steelers picked twenty first and then
renegade hitting. Yeah, with three hundred and twenty thousand people
going nuts, that's one of the coolest moments. I don't
even know if i'd say sports moments. That's one of
the coolest moments I feel like in modern day Pittsburgh. Like,

I don't think I'm over selling that. I think if
you were there last night, you can probably agree with
me that you just felt like this is I don't
know if I'll be alive for another amazing moment like this,
Like how are we gonna top this?

The vibes were amazing though, Yeah, you know you got
fans from every team, literally every team. Yeah, everybody was cool.
Everybody's nice, everybody's talking to each other. Nobody was drunk
trying to fight each other. At least I didn't see
it like anywhere. I didn't see it anywhere though, Like
everybody was cool, Like it was awesome. The vibes were amazing,
the city looked amazing, Yep, yep, all good.

And then they picked an offensive lineman from Arizona State
who just started playing football in college.

like I don't have like I need to be convinced
how awesome this is. I know how awesome. This is
it's unbelievable. Right, it's Mike and Bob the Kiss Morning
Freak Show. I want to know how much love you
got though, because tell everybody about the game that you
you went down there with your son Jack, Your daughter

Point, so you're down there with your son Jack. You
know who's in high school goes North Allegheny. What's what
was the game you and Jack or Jack decided to play?

Jack was just counting how many people said hey as
we were walking through, just trying to walk to wherever
we needed.

Why did he think that would be a fun game
to play for NFL Draft night? Let's see how many
people recognize my dad, who's a large man with the
greatest mustache in Pittsburgh. Like, and how far did he
get or how long did he count people saying hi
to you at the draft? It didn't last long? Yeah, okay, right,
I think we have forty? Did he stop counting forty?

Would that take fifteen minutes? He's like, yeah, pretty much
like hey, as a as a dad with a son,
yeah you know, not like daughters can't be involved in this,
but like, you know, I know your son played football
and everything like that loves football. Like how cool of
a father son experience was that last night?

The best? It was the best. He had a great time.

And we didn't have any special access or anything, you know,
we were just hang Yeah.

It was just dad and son hanging man. It was amazing.

Like there were a couple of friends from school that
were around, and I'm just like like, go find him, dude,
Like go have fun, right, go see him.

Like you're not gonna get to experiences probably if you
ever again, go enjoy it.

And I just kind of hung out. I was back
by McAfee set up like uh yeah where they were
doing some of the live shows and everything. Pat MC's
shown work set.

Up in the back of the draft there, so I
was just kind of hanging out there with a bunch
of people. But it was a NonStop flow of people
just coming and saying hi and taking pictures. I signed
a TG watt card. Okay, hold on, let me.

When Bob got down to the NFL Draft because I'm wondering.
I'm like, you know, how is it getting down there?
Did you get in?

And the first thing Bob sends me is dude, I'm
at the zoo.

It's a big bob meet and greet.

I just signed a James Connor jersey and a TJ
Watt card and met a dude from Raleigh, North Carolina.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
Then listened to the podcast every day, did the TJ
Walk cards. He handed me a sharpie and then it
was just on. Like the guy that was standing in
front of me shout out to call you. By the way,
there are a bunch of people from CALIU there that. Yeah,
I went out in Greensburg and listening to us their
whole lives al right. It was a big crew. It
was a big crew. I like it. I like it.

One of the dudes as be signed a TJ Walk
card and then I'm holding a sharpie. This guy's wearing
like a legit James Connor jersey.

By the way. The toilet situation too. Oh this is

has figured this out over the years, figured out toilets
over the years, and like drinks, food, yeah, fast check

With every draft, they learned something new, how you can
do things better. You know, everything flowed, man, it did
it really did a lot of potties though, a lot
of porta potties, a lot of availability, not.

when NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell jumps up on stage to
welcome everybody to whatever city the draft is in, he
just gets booed loudly and Pittsburgh delivered.

One of the one of the things about the draft, though,
that is going to be talked about, is how the
Eagles have possibly stolen who could be a great wide
receiver from the Steelers last night by trading up one
spot ahead of the Steelers to pick a wide receiver.
Here was NFL Networks ian Rappaple on what happened with

the Steelers and Eagles last night. I can't believe this
is like the two Pennsylvania teams. The draft is in Pennsylvania, Bob,
you said there are a ton.

Of Eagles fans, Ton, right, yeah, Ton, So this for
me and rap Ward.

Pittsburgh Steelers get on the phone with McKayle Lemon planning
to select him next to twenty one. Except what they
didn't know is the Eagles had.

Actually traded up over them.

We're trying to get in touch with Lemon, but he
wasn't answering because he was already on the phone with
the Steelers.

Okay, so there's this wide receiver, great wide receiver from
USC McKay lemon, right, Oh, Steelers could use him right
there sniffing around on the phone with them having to

And Philly moved up and traded ahead of the Steelers
and took him while he was still talking to the

flying real quick. That's when they're not even announcing the
picks and they're picking people during commercial breaks.

So and then obviously another big thing Saturday. Penguin's at
Philly for Game four, hoping to avoid the sweep because
I know if the Penguins lose on Saturday, this is
gonna be on me. And I'm not even gonna try
to deny it. If the Penguins lose on Saturday this season,
this playoffs.

Yeah, I was a little disappointed yesterday I did not
make it down to the draft. I don't know if
I'm gonna make it down this week weekend. I was
in my car with my daughter Addison on the way
down to the draft and I just I just couldn't
do it. I'm going through a lot in my life personally,
Bob that you know, with just I mean, I've been

going through stuff for years that I haven't talked about
on the air or anything like that. But you know,
we talk a lot about mental health nowadays, just with
with everything and make sure everybody's okay and everything like that.
And I just knew I wasn't okay yesterday and I
didn't need to be thrown into a giant crowd like that.
And then you know, I got a lot of anxiety

issues and things like that. And then, like the thing
that really sucks is like we got horrible news here
at the station this week, like me and Bob, like
something that was very negative towards us, and it just.

It just threw me into a bad place. And it
really sucks because.

I mean, Bob, you know, I wanted to be down
there yesterday and I want to go down there and
check it out and everything like that, but also I
know I need to take care of myself. And what
happened to us at the station this week, it just
sucks so much because people don't care. They just don't
care what happens when you do things to people you know, and.

We're not talking about you. Guys are listening, not at all.

No frustrations with things that are happening here.

It just it just really sucks. Things we thought that
were worked out and that we're promised, just really, you know,
it's put both of us in a pretty crappy mental
place from that, on top of a little anxiety and
whatever else. I know this is a dumb way to
end the NFL Draft show, but I'm just.

Letting everybody know I had a really crappy week and it's, uh,
it's not really better yet, and so I think I'm missing.

All of the uh the draft. But I also wanted
to bring that up sort of at the end of
the show, because if you're listening and you are going
through stuff and you do have that draft fomo, but
you know you're not okay, and you know you might
little like freak out a little bit with crowds like
that and people and all that stuff. I'm here to
tell you that I should be down there. I want

to meet people, I want to see all the spectacle.

And I'm not because I'm not okay. And it's okay
if if you're that way too. If you're not, though, Man,
get down there and enjoy it because it's once a
