Speaker 1 (00:02):
What's going on already this morning there bob you all
right i know you came in here giggly already you
know how there's that one guy who's like the keeper
of the building yeah sort of like the maintenance guy
yeah everything that's late 60s early 70s yeah yeah so
i come in the back door i'm back door bob
(00:22):
i come into the building through the back door yeah
and he's smoking a stogie inside the building.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
I'm like, what? Wait, not inside? Where? Like in that hallway,
the entranceway there.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
Oh, okay, so he's by the back door, but he's
not far enough from the building because when you smoke, well,
usually people just smoke cigarettes, but we got a couple
people who still smoke heaters. You got to be like
away from the building. My guy got a cigar lit inside. Oh, man,
that's a guy who does not care at all. all
anymore and i just give uh hey good morning you
(00:57):
know what do you say to a like 60 70
year old man when you walk in a building he's
just a guy at five in the morning smoking a
cigar because there's usually nobody even here so i'm face
to face with this guy i gotta give him the
good morning it's stunning even to see another person when
we come in here yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
Let alone smoking these gives me i can't believe this
job And I go, what? I said, what? You know,
I got to go, what, at that point?
Speaker 1 (01:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
Can't believe this job.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
What, it's got you smoking a cigar at 5 in
the morning in a building?
Speaker 2 (01:29):
He's like, I'm up killing bees already this morning. Killing bees!
Is there bees somewhere? Yeah, he goes, there's bees around
the front door by the mailbox. Oh, no. Early morning
bee killer? Oh, he's smoking them out, I'm guessing, with
the cigars. Oh, no, I can't. That's not it.
Speaker 3 (01:50):
That's not it.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
I don't know what kind of powers he has. Don't
beekeepers use a smoker? Yeah, not this guy. Dude, maybe
that's what it is. Not this guy. Hey, listen.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
Earth ain't going too good. We got to keep these
bees around. We got to protect the bees, all right?
So I ain't here to kill the bees. I ain't
here to move their nest or anything here.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
I'm just here. I'm here to blow the smoke at them.
Smoke them out at the front door. Let them know.
Get on out of here. Get on up.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
What an encounter you had already this morning. I just
came and I go, oh, wow, man, that's rough. And
then I just kept walking. All right, dude, I'm going
to go turn on microphones, talk to Pittsburgh for a
couple hours here. Nice start to your morning there, Bob. Yesterday,
I wouldn't say we got a package delivered yesterday, but
(02:36):
we found a package yesterday. this is one of our
favorite stories of people mailing things to the station.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
Yeah. We've ever had, we will get to that next.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
Also sold out tickets to go see role model, opening
up the citizens live at the Wiley. That's coming up
around eight 30 this morning. It's Mikey and Bob 96.
Speaker 4 (02:56):
One.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
We get a lot of packages sent to the station,
which we absolutely love. We have the best listeners. The
fact that you all spend your time and money, whether
you're making us something or buying something for us and,
And then, you know, spending the postage and everything.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
It's awesome. We don't take it for granted.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
Whenever we get like a package or an invitation to
a wedding or a card, it means a lot to us.
So one of our wonderful listeners, Gina, you might know
her as Toilet T-Rex on the show. She said she
sent something for Bob that was supposed to be here
last week. And it was something for your Dodge Ram
(03:40):
that you have, Bob, from C. Harper Auto Group, the
sponsor of the Mikey and Bob podcast. You know, we
were talking about Casey Musgraves, too. She was just in
town this week, and she floats over the crowd like
on a pair of sparkly truck nuts.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
So Gina, the toilet T-Rex, said that she was getting
you a pair, right, of truck nuts for your truck.
She kept telling me, hey, did they come yet? And
I'm like, no, we didn't get, no, there hasn't been
a package with your name. Like, no, I have not
gotten truck nuts yet. Nothing's shown up. And I didn't
know about this until yesterday. So then we're walking out
(04:17):
of the station yesterday and I see a package. There
is a place where people put packages that aren't labeled
to anybody specific. Or if people are like, nobody works
here by this name, whose package is this? Yeah. So
she didn't send it to us. She sent it with
her name on it. And she doesn't work here.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
This package wasn't sitting like in our office.
Speaker 5 (04:39):
Nope.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
By the front door. It was in our building by
the front door.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
It was sitting in like a communal area where other
people in the building work.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
And it's like, whose package is this?
Speaker 1 (04:50):
And I see the name Gina as we're walking out
and I go, Bob, hold on. And I turn the
package over and it's, it's taped together. Like somebody had
already opened it, saw what was inside.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
And went, that's not mine. So somebody, maybe.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
Multiple people, probably not somebody that works with us. Even
somebody in our building.
Speaker 3 (05:16):
Opened it up and it is a large pair of
blue truck nuts somebody open it and just surprise surprise
it might have been 10 20 people somebody saw.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
A package there and said you know what this is
sitting here i you know maybe i'm the building manager
i mean if you're in one of the offices it's
unbelievable The other offices in our building and you open that.
Speaker 2 (05:39):
What are you thinking? You got to show it around
to the office too. You're not going to believe this.
I bet people took pictures going, hey.
Speaker 1 (05:47):
I bet yesterday when we were doing the show in here,
there was a parade of people just going, go open
the package that's sitting right by the outside doors.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
And then people would come back and be like, oh
my God. It's a huge pair of knots.
Speaker 6 (06:03):
Huge, huge.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
Thank you, Toilet T-Rex. Appreciate it. Thank you, Toilet T-Rex.

NFL season's here. Did you watch it last night? You
watch any of the game?
Speaker 2 (07:13):
I did.
Speaker 1 (07:13):
The Seahawks beat the Patriots 13 to 10 last night
on NBC to open the NFL season. Drake May from
the Patriots basically throwing an interception in the end zone
to effectively end the game there. Hey, that's good news
for us in the AFC of Steelers fans. You got
an NFC team beat the AFC team, right? Patriots seem
to be in the mix. Always, always like seeing the
(07:34):
Patriots lose. Yeah, it's a good, it's a good start
to the NFL season. Tomlin's really good too. Not that
I didn't expect him to be good, but he's good.
He's like real good. Well, you know, they clear all
the way and let him talk, you know? Yeah, he's
so close to being a head coach in the NFL
that he still knows all these players, you know, even
(07:55):
the rookies. He's probably scouted and known through college. So, yeah,
Tomlin's good on TV. I don't think that's surprised. Uh,
anybody it's Mikey and Bob here on 96, one kiss,
no update on Joey Porter jr. Doesn't have a deal done.
He was limited in practice yesterday due to a back injury.
That doesn't even sound real. Any injury with Joey Porter jr.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
Right now. It doesn't seem real. He's just not playing.
Cause he, he needs that new contract.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
So, uh, up in the air for Sunday is the, uh,
sources reporting on that, that it's up in the air.
for Sunday, season opener, home opener for Joey Porter Jr.
We're getting pretty damn close here.
Speaker 2 (08:35):
We are.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
We are getting close. Hopefully a deal gets done in
the next couple of days here. We want to send
you to the game, though. If you want to win
some Steelers tickets, download our free iHeartRadio app. Then when
you're streaming 96.1 KISS, send us a talkback message, you know,
with some Steelers hype, and we'll get you qualified to
go to the game.

Speaker 1 (10:46):
Bob uh let's get to a talkback message real quick
here taking us into today in freak show history talkback
messages brought to us by one team media.
Speaker 13 (10:54):
Hey team move talk kathy and mark madden come on
come on yeah i just saw a post about um
tosi musgraves uh flying around ppg paints on a disco.
Speaker 1 (11:07):
Yeah uh truck nut set yeah we've talked about this
casey musgraves and her uh In her show, she sits
on a big pair of disco ball truck nuts and
floats over the stage.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
It's awesome.
Speaker 13 (11:18):
I remember the time Bob said his uvula looked like
a set of truck nuts dangling in the bag of
his throat. I don't remember the rest of the context
of that story, but I just remember it being hilarious.
If you guys could play that for today in Freak
Show History, I'd appreciate it.
Speaker 5 (11:31):
Okay.
Speaker 14 (11:31):
All right.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
Thanks, guys. Go Steelers. Okay. Go Steelers.
Speaker 5 (11:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
All right.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
Today in Freak Show History, here we go. When Bob
called his uvula a truck knot, here we go. Today
in Freak Show History.
Speaker 7 (11:43):
Today in Freak Show History.
Speaker 1 (11:51):
So the pink hangy thing in the back of your throat,
it's a uvula.
Speaker 2 (11:56):
What the hell is it called, a uvula?
Speaker 1 (11:58):
It's like one single truck nut just hanging there in
the back of your throat.
Speaker 2 (12:04):
It ain't like a set of truck nuts.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
Hell no, hell no. It's like if for some reason
they only sold one single truck nut is what it is.
Speaker 2 (12:13):
That's my throat truck nut back there.
Speaker 1 (12:17):
I got abducted by aliens 45 years ago, and let
me tell you, this lady alien had her finger down
my throat with just flicking my truck nut.
Speaker 2 (12:28):
All right, calm down. Let's see what's going on in Arkansas.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
Dentures left behind by a man who admitted he tried
breaking into someone's house.
Speaker 2 (12:38):
We have dentures left behind. Somebody called and won their
teeth back. This is unusual.
Speaker 1 (12:44):
The false teeth found outside that very home.
Speaker 2 (12:47):
Man, this is crazy for sure.
Speaker 11 (12:49):
This run of the mill neighborhood got a taste of
weird after Mark Mobley and his wife noticed something odd
in their driveway.
Speaker 2 (12:57):
All right. It was a single Trump note.
Speaker 1 (13:04):
Sometimes them truck nuts, they don't get secured on the
back of the trucks good enough. And sometimes you'll see
a truck nut fall off. But we woke up and
we saw somebody tried to get in our house. But
I looked in the driveway and all I saw was
one damn single truck nut.
Speaker 2 (13:21):
And not even a set. What am I supposed to
do with a single truck nut?
Speaker 1 (13:27):
Like this Arkansas burglar who left dentures like a full
set of teeth behind has no chance, right? Because it's
all just going to end with us and truck nuts.
Speaker 11 (13:36):
Throwing some trash out in the trash can.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
Saw a set of dentures. And a set of truck nuts, too.
Speaker 11 (13:41):
The couple posted the teeth discovery online in a neighborhood page.
Shortly after that, they got a message in return.
Speaker 1 (13:50):
I can't even pay attention to what's happening in this
story right now, because all.
Speaker 2 (13:53):
I can think about... Yeah, those teeth are mine. Did
you find my truck nut, too?
Speaker 11 (13:56):
It was a man seeking his teeth, admitting that he
tried breaking into their car.
Speaker 1 (14:02):
Listen, I broke into your car, and I think I
left my teeth here. By the way, did you find
a truck nut?
Speaker 11 (14:07):
Mark got police involved. Officers negotiated a teeth transaction.
Speaker 1 (14:12):
All right, I'll trade you my set of teeth if
you can find the other damn truck nubs somewhere around here.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
Then arrested this man.
Speaker 11 (14:20):
John Richard was booked into jail on an unrelated misdemeanor warrant.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
Is anybody keeping a.
Speaker 1 (14:26):
Keeping track of what's happening in the story, a guy
tried to break into people's house and somehow his teeth
fell out and he left.
Speaker 2 (14:32):
How don't you notice? Your teeth are gone. Your damn
teeth fell out.
Speaker 11 (14:36):
It's unclear if he'll face charges for the danger of debacle.
Speaker 2 (14:40):
Check this.
Speaker 10 (14:41):
Check this.
Speaker 2 (14:46):
Spit my teeth out.
Speaker 11 (14:47):
Now, there was no damage to the couple's home, and
the man did get his teeth back as he was
booked into the jail.
Speaker 2 (14:53):
According to the police report. They had to get with
the cops. He got his teeth back. Everything's fine. What
the hell? I didn't get back, though. I tried to
explain it to them.
Speaker 1 (15:03):
They didn't even know what I'm talking about, and I said,
truck nuts! You know, if you got a badass truck,
you gotta have a.
Speaker 2 (15:11):
Set on the back of it so everybody knows you
ain't somebody....
Speaker 1 (15:22):
We got your chance at Steelers season opener, home opener
tickets against the Falcons for Sunday. All you got to
do is send us a talkback message through the free
iHeartRadio app before Friday at 10 a.m.
Speaker 5 (15:33):
Hi, my name is Kaylin.
Speaker 12 (15:34):
I'm from Irwin. I have never been to a Steeler
game and I'm 39 years old. I've been a cheerleader
all through high school, my whole life.
Speaker 2 (15:42):
I just really want to go. All right, cheerleader. You're qualified.
Let's get to another one. 96-1 Kiss and the Steelers.
Here we go.
Speaker 5 (15:51):
Oh, boy.
Speaker 3 (15:52):
Steelers.
Speaker 2 (15:52):

Speaker 1 (15:54):
What?
Speaker 9 (15:54):
Pittsburgh's going to the Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (15:56):
Here we go.
Speaker 1 (15:57):
I mean, it was a good.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
Effort, though.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
I was carried away with it. Double Super Bowl. Calm down, dude.
First game I didn't even play yet. Here we go.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
Steelers. Super Bowl. No, it's not. No, you got to wait. Okay.
Speaker 1 (16:11):

is send us a talkback message give us some steelers
hype and uh you're qualified to go to the season
opener and home opener what are you doing girl scouts

Speaker 2 (16:35):
They're they're moving on and they're moving into the dog.
Speaker 1 (16:38):

a new york-based uh dog treat uh seller they're called
patch pals so the girl scout cookies are making dog
biscuits basically blueberry muffin girl scout cookies sound delicious Yeah,
it does, but it's for dogs.
Speaker 2 (16:58):
It's for dogs. And then we read the Facebook comments.
Speaker 5 (17:00):
Uh-oh.
Speaker 2 (17:01):
We are going to a very deep, dark place on
the internet.
Speaker 7 (17:05):
It's time for 96.1 KISS Facebook comments.
Speaker 1 (17:09):
The Girl Scouts are making their first ever cookies for dogs.
Speaker 2 (17:13):
Ashley J in the Facebook comments.
Speaker 1 (17:16):
Anyone else want to sneak a bite of the dog
cookie just to see how it tastes?
Speaker 15 (17:20):
Just a little.
Speaker 2 (17:20):
Yeah, yeah. A little nipple.
Speaker 1 (17:23):
Huh?
Speaker 2 (17:24):
Jennifer D.
Speaker 1 (17:25):

Speaker 2 (17:31):
Heather R.
Speaker 1 (17:33):
take your $ 15 box of dog cookies and shove them.
Speaker 2 (17:38):
All right. No. You're telling the Girl Scouts. Not the
Girl Scouts. Carol H.
Speaker 15 (17:45):
last time I got my dog's gourmet dog cookies from
a local bakery, I walked in the kitchen, and my
husband had already eaten half a dozen of them. I
didn't have the heart to tell him they were.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
For the dog. All right, you know what? Half a
dozen deep. Courtney H.
Speaker 1 (18:03):
Here. My cats are all officially offended, especially the mama cat.
Speaker 2 (18:10):
They want Girl Scouts catnip. I don't know if we
need catnip. Cat treats?
Speaker 1 (18:14):
Let the dog thing take off. They'll be with cat
treats in a matter of no time.
Speaker 2 (18:18):
Kelly W. I get my cookies at Aldi's. All right. Okay.
Sean M. For dogs.
Speaker 1 (18:24):

you a dozen cookies for $ 6 a box. I'll take
my poor ass to Aldi's when I want a cookie treat.
Speaker 2 (18:34):
A lot of Aldi love. Julie B.
Speaker 1 (18:36):
Again, these are the Facebook comments because Girl Scout cookies
are making dog cookies now.
Speaker 2 (18:41):
Julie B.
Speaker 1 (18:42):
My dogs only eat beef treats.
Speaker 2 (18:45):
The cookies give them diarrhea. Thanks for sharing. Why do
you need to tell everyone? I don't know. Tracy M. here.
I had an uncle.
Speaker 5 (18:58):
Oh, no, boy.
Speaker 1 (18:59):
Every Facebook comment that starts with I had an uncle.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
He's only allowed beef treats, too. You know why? All right.
Speaker 1 (19:15):
It's the last comment right here. Girl Scout cookies are
making dog treats now.
Speaker 2 (19:19):
Uh-huh.
Speaker 1 (19:21):
I had an uncle who used to eat dog food.
Everyone used to call him Uncle's Kibbles and Bits.
Speaker 2 (19:29):
96.1 Kiss.
Speaker 1 (19:34):
Your chance at sold-out tickets to go see Role Model
open up the Citizens Live at the Wiley, the brand
new venue right across from the arena. Sold-out Role Model
tickets coming up around 8.30 on 96.1 Kiss. It is
Mikey and Bob. Let's get to this talkback message real quick.
Brought to us by One Team Media.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
Hey, Mikey and Bob. Stacey from Ambridge.
Speaker 8 (19:54):
I might start laughing because I was watching the Chef Tom, like, new, like,
steak timber unveiling.
Speaker 1 (19:59):
Yeah, our buddy Chef Tom from Gecko was in the
studio the other day, brought us up a bunch of
treats and everything, made me a Giant Eagle birthday cake
with my face on it. Yeah, you can see the
video of us in the studio with Chef Tom. That's
on my Instagram page, if you're following me on Instagram, FSMikey.
Speaker 12 (20:20):
And then you panned Bob in the background, and he's like.
Speaker 15 (20:27):
Private dancer, a dancer for money. Do what you want
me to do.
Speaker 2 (20:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (20:36):
All right. So listen, you got to go watch the
video on my Instagram page. But basically, Chef Tom has
a peacock. that lives in and around his house. What's
this peacock's name, by the way?
Speaker 2 (20:47):
Kevin. Kevin, that's right. He brought in peacock feathers.
Speaker 1 (20:50):
So as Chef Tom is telling us, hey, it's steak
timber at get-go and showing us all the food, Bob
is in the corner of the studio dancing seductively with
peacock feathers. Mike's trying to be serious. Take the video.
Chef Tom's trying to show off the food does. And
here I am in the back corner. Can't trust my
guy with any sort of tickle feathers.
Speaker 2 (21:08):
Don't give me the feathers. Give the big guy feathers.
He's going to put on a show for you. It's
just what Bob does. I do what comes natural. It's
just what he does. If you hand me feathers, expect
a show. All right.
Speaker 1 (21:19):
Let me get to this message we got here, because
this message doesn't have anything to do with the Steelers
and what they're looking like this season, the start of
the season or anything. It's not even a request for
Steelers tickets. Somebody wanted to tell us a story about
Steely McBeam, the Steelers mascot, that I don't really think anybody.
(21:41):
It's nobody's favorite mascot in the city, right? It's Steely McBean, right?
Speaker 6 (21:46):
Hey, guys.
Speaker 9 (21:47):
So I did the Steelers Run Rock 5K, which is
like on Labor Day. They have it every year.
Speaker 16 (21:55):
And at the end of the race, like after, they
do a bunch of stuff. And then one of the
things that they do is this kids' fun run. They
just line kids up from, I don't know, three to nine.
Speaker 1 (22:06):
And then.
Speaker 16 (22:08):
They send them off in waves to run across the field.
Speaker 9 (22:11):
It's like a race, whoever finishes.
Speaker 5 (22:14):
It's awesome.
Speaker 9 (22:14):
People cheer and their parents are there. Everybody has a
good time.
Speaker 2 (22:17):
It's fun.
Speaker 1 (22:18):
Yeah, kids.
Speaker 9 (22:19):
Well, Steely McBean is there showing face. He's walking around.
And he jumps in on the nine-year-old race, right? He partakes.
Speaker 5 (22:32):
All right.
Speaker 9 (22:32):
And I'm telling you, man, this is exactly why.
Speaker 16 (22:35):
Steely McBean, he should not be invited to these kinds
of events.
Speaker 2 (22:40):
Okay, hold on. We're at Steely should be banned from
children's events? Steeler's 5K.
Speaker 1 (22:46):
He's telling a story about how Steely McBeam is racing
a bunch of nine-year-olds.
Speaker 9 (22:51):
Like, he just shouldn't be, you know?
Speaker 16 (22:52):
I know it's a different sport, but bring Iceberg.
Speaker 9 (22:56):
Bring a parrot. Like, bring somebody other than... I mean, heck,
the pierogies.
Speaker 2 (23:03):
I mean, yeah. The Steeler 5K, though.
Speaker 17 (23:05):
Right.
Speaker 1 (23:05):
They're not going to be like, hey, our mascot kind
of sucks. Can we use any of the good ones?
Speaker 9 (23:09):
They race all the time, right?
Speaker 1 (23:11):
Yeah, I mean, pierogies do race all the time. If
you're racing kids, the pierogies are the ones to get,
not Steeling.
Speaker 9 (23:16):
Like, it just would make sense.
Speaker 16 (23:18):
But no, Steeling McNeil shows up, and he's running with
the nine-year-olds.
Speaker 9 (23:23):
So they line up. And then they start.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
And they're off.
Speaker 9 (23:27):
And the kids are running.
Speaker 16 (23:28):
People are cheering. Steely McBeam is running. He's with all
the kids running across the field. And it's coming down
to the end. It's coming down to the wire.
Speaker 2 (23:37):
Steely, don't do it.
Speaker 16 (23:38):
The kid that was right in front of... Steely McBean,
he trips him. Steely McBean tripped a kid, and that
kid fell flat on his face at the very finish.
Speaker 1 (23:49):
Okay, now, again, I cannot confirm or deny this. I
was not at the Steelers 5K. He is claiming that
Steely McBean basically ran over a nine-year-old to win the race.
Speaker 9 (23:58):
It's just, like, not a good look for Steely McBean,
you know?
Speaker 1 (24:02):
I mean, no.
Speaker 9 (24:03):
He just don't got a lot going for him, I
feel like. I mean, he's already like the one.
Speaker 16 (24:07):
Mascot in Pittsburgh that I feel like everybody kind of
almost forgets about. And then the times you remember him,
it's like instances like this, you know, the Steelers run
lock 5K kids fun run trips nine-year-old.
Speaker 2 (24:21):
Okay, I mean, all right.
Speaker 16 (24:23):
All that to say, Steelers run lock 5K, it's a
great time.
Speaker 9 (24:27):
Yeah. You know, I had a blast.
Speaker 1 (24:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (24:30):
I'd do it again.
Speaker 2 (24:31):
Sure.
Speaker 9 (24:31):
But, like, let's just think about.
Speaker 16 (24:34):
How we utilize stealing the game just, like, a little
bit more, you know?
Speaker 9 (24:38):
Like, use them pierogies. The pierogies aren't going to trip kids.
Speaker 2 (24:42):
The pierogies aren't going to trip kids!
Speaker 1 (24:45):
Which, by the way, I don't know if that's true either.
Some of them pierogies, like Bacon Burt looks like he
would trip a kid. Potato Pete would trip a kid.
Jalapeno Hannah would never trip a kid. It sounded like
it was a heated race and Steely was losing. And
it sounded like Steely could not take the L. I
wonder if Steely goes back and people are just making
fun of him like, you lost to a nine-year-old?
Speaker 2 (25:07):
You know?
Speaker 1 (25:07):
Like, maybe Steely lost a race to a nine-year-old before.
Speaker 2 (25:11):
In another Steelers 5K and said, not again on my watch.
Speaker 1 (25:13):
You might think the wacky Steely head might impair Steely's
vision and it was just an accident, but Steely's got
that tiger inside, you know?
Speaker 2 (25:22):
Steely wasn't looking to lose that race. I don't think
he does. No, Steely don't have no tiger inside of him.
Steely's just.
Speaker 1 (25:29):
Steely ain't got no tiger.
Speaker 2 (25:32):
Steely is just... What noise does he make? I don't know.
Speaker 1 (25:37):
Isn't that how they make him sound on the DV
morning show? Or was that like 20 years ago? I
don't know. Steely McBean. Careful out there if your kids
are racing Steely. Apparently he wants to win at all costs.
We're getting closer to the Steelers opening the season on
Sunday afternoon. It seems like we might be getting closer
(26:00):
also to seeing Mike Tomlin's Minecraft City that he's been
working on for over a decade now. It's Mikey and
Bob here on 96.1 KISS. Dino, Coach Tomlin's son, posted...
He wants me to record it all and put it
on YouTube.
Speaker 2 (26:19):
But we got to.
Speaker 1 (26:19):
Break it into sections, though, where the video would be
two hours long. Chat, is that what we want? I'm
not going to record and edit if the streets don't
want it. Can't just release the copy of the world
because there's bleep in there.
Speaker 2 (26:33):
Wait, what?
Speaker 1 (26:35):
He has stuff that's not safe for public consumption in
his Minecraft city or something like that?
Speaker 2 (26:39):
Is that what Dino's saying? Two hours to get through
the entire thing also?
Speaker 1 (26:44):
Dude, listen. The 12-year build. If it's him narrating his city...
I mean, I'd watch it in parts, but I would
sit there and watch Coach Tomlin telling me about his
Minecraft city.
Speaker 2 (26:56):
He's got to be the one.
Speaker 1 (26:57):
He has to be the one to narrate it.
Speaker 2 (27:00):
Yes, and then I will sit there and watch it
for two hours.
Speaker 1 (27:03):
I feel like I owe it to him. Tell us
the reason why he built things the way he did.
He deserves it. He deserves it. You know, he's been
working on it for 12 years. The least we can
do is take an hour or two and have Coach
Tomlin tell us all about his Minecraft city. He was
good last night, though, on the... The NFL kickoff game,
of course, if you didn't stay up for it last night.
(27:23):
Seahawks beat the Patriots 13-10. We got the Australia game
tonight on Netflix. Rams and Niners around 8.30.
Speaker 2 (27:30):
It's Mikey and Bob on 96.1 KISS. Let's get to this.
We're all going to.
Speaker 3 (27:32):
Learn something together right now.
Speaker 2 (27:36):
It's time to find out. Why the hell is this trending?
With Mikey and Babs. iPhone that folds. Oh, daddy, daddy.
Get me one. Get me one.
Speaker 1 (27:52):
Get me one.
Speaker 2 (27:53):
I want the new folding iPhone, daddy. iPhone duo. Oh,
my gosh. It folds, daddy. It folds. All right. So.
Pre-orders and everything. It's like $ 2, 000. Yeah, it's a lot.
Speaker 9 (28:09):
$ 2, 000.
Speaker 1 (28:09):
They finally got an iPhone that folds so you can
make the screen bigger. It's called Duo, which the Duolingo
mascot's named Duo. Duo should go to California and fight
everybody at Apple. Or just light the place on fire.
Speaker 2 (28:22):
One of the two. Duo seems like... An arsonist? Yeah. Yes.
That's what I was looking for. Yes. An arsonist.
Speaker 1 (28:31):
So, you know, Apple's always like behind on things like this,
because I think they let other companies like Samsung, like there's.
Speaker 2 (28:39):
Like Google, foldable phones and everything.
Speaker 1 (28:43):
In some countries, I saw some Japanese phone, I think
that folds like three times.
Speaker 2 (28:47):
It's like, all right, Apple. okay a little behind on.
Speaker 1 (28:51):
It yeah but whatever apple did their whole thing yesterday
daddy please avengers doomsday comes out december 18th right this
is the next massive marvel movie at spider-man making like
two billion dollars avengers doomsday they announced yesterday has already
made 50 million dollars in in pre-sale tickets.
Speaker 2 (29:12):
Three months away, right? Three months away.
Speaker 1 (29:15):
And it's made $ 50 million in pre-sale. And now that
that number is out, now people are going to be like, Oh.
Speaker 2 (29:22):
I got to get my tickets. Are all the theaters sold?
For opening day or opening night. Everything's sold? What? Now
it's going to be like, you know, people are going
to go buy tickets now.
Speaker 1 (29:30):
That has a lot to do probably with the Spider-Man wave, right?
Like just interest in Marvel again?
Speaker 2 (29:36):
I think so. I think so, maybe.
Speaker 1 (29:37):
Yeah Saturday Night Live released their hosts and musical guests
for season 52. It's going to premiere September 26th with
Knicks champion Jalen Brunson, the leader of that team. They
won the title and everything. He's hosting for the premiere.
Cat's Eye is the musical guest. And then on October 3rd,
(29:59):
it's Dakota Johnson, musical guest turnstile. october 10th snl it's
shane gillis with rosalia and then the halloween episode is
gonna be uh hosted by indy uh navarat the uh
girl who's in the obsession movie and everything it's gonna
be her and gracie abrams for the uh musical guest
(30:20):
that'll be the halloween episode of um saturday night live
as the premiere will be September 26th with Jalen Brunson
and Cat's Eye. And then the next day, September 27th,
I'm telling you, kids and younger generation.
Speaker 2 (30:36):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (30:37):
The MTV VMAs used to be a must-watch event. This
used to be the height of pop culture. Nobody could
miss it. You couldn't miss it.
Speaker 2 (30:46):
Dude, it sounds crazy, but it really was. Beyonce announced.
You had to watch. Her first child. You had to watch.
But she was pregnant with Blue Ivy. it on the VMAs.
Britney dancing with the snake. It's all the classic moments.
Speaker 1 (31:02):
Even early 2000s, like early Twitter years, you had to
watch because everybody was online reacting to things happening.
Speaker 2 (31:08):
It was huge, man. It was huge. Now it doesn't
seem like it. Now it sounds insane. It sounds old.
I don't even want to watch it anymore.
Speaker 1 (31:17):
I bring it up, though, because Nirvana is going to
get this year's Video Vanguard Award at the VMAs.
Speaker 2 (31:22):
You know, that's like the big award. Hey, you did
a good job making music videos, so.
Speaker 1 (31:26):
nirvana's got classic videos obviously kurt cobain hasn't been with
us for a long time but the thing is they
they there should be like some type of all-star performance
maybe probably that'll happen yeah probably but uh the vmas.
Speaker 2 (31:40):
I'm telling you kids this used to be a big
deal man gather around kids let me tell you about
the vma.
Speaker 1 (31:45):
Now it's just something where it's like all right i'll
see a clip online or two if anything happens but
i'm not sitting through like 50 minutes of Neutrogena commercials
just so I can, you know, watch the remaining members
of Nirvana get the video, like a moon man.
Speaker 2 (32:00):
Britney Spears with the snake man.
Speaker 1 (32:02):
Yeah, it seems like it's just different times.
Speaker 2 (32:06):
Hey, MTV used to play music videos, kids.
Speaker 1 (32:11):
Now you got foldable phones.
Speaker 2 (32:14):
What the hell's happening? And now my iPhone falls. My God.
All right.
Speaker 1 (32:23):
We will hear from Coach Mike McCarthy heading into the
Steelers opener coming up around 7.55.
Speaker 2 (32:27):
Oh, yeah. He's meowing.
Speaker 1 (32:29):
And sold out tickets to go see Role Model kicking
off the brand new venue, Citizens Live at the Wiley.
Speaker 2 (32:36):
We got Role Model tickets around 8.30. It's Mikey and Bob.
96.1 Kids. The Mikey and Bob podcast. Got that dog
in him. I was going to go the serious route.
Speaker 1 (32:45):
All right.
Speaker 2 (32:47):
Of like maybe screen.
Speaker 1 (32:49):

Speaker 2 (33:14):
Yeah, it's heavy. There's a girth. It's truck nuts, man.
Speaker 1 (33:18):
Yeah, you put that on the back of your trailer
hitch there, and it's got to weather the storm down there,
you know, through everything.
Speaker 2 (33:25):
It's got to be durable. It's got to be heavy, man.

Speaker 2 (33:52):
Yeah All.
Speaker 5 (33:59):
Right.
Speaker 2 (34:02):
Where are we going?
Speaker 9 (34:05):
All right.
Speaker 15 (34:10):
Hold on.
Speaker 1 (34:11):
I know that there are some people who don't sing,
here we go, Steelers, here we go, Pittsburgh's going to
the Super Bowl until we're actually going to the Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (34:18):
Because it could be a jinx or something. Yeah, sure.
Speaker 1 (34:21):
I think he's got the way that this needs to
be handled. Pittsburgh's going to the meow, meow, meow.
Speaker 2 (34:28):
Here we go. All right.
Speaker 1 (34:29):
Until we go to the super bowl, it's going to
be stuck in my head.
Speaker 2 (34:33):
Now it's meow, meow, meow. Now go and do meow, meow, meow.
Speaker 1 (34:38):
By the way, speaking of meow, meow, meow, Mike, meow,
Carthy having his first game, first regular season game at
home in this city that he grew up in and just.
Speaker 2 (34:50):
Oh my God.
Speaker 1 (34:51):
This guy talking about Pittsburgh and everything, man, I can't
get enough of it.
Speaker 2 (34:55):
It's just the best.
Speaker 18 (34:56):
I think the fact that being from here, you know,
this is heavy being here. You know, you ride the
streets that you grew up, that you walked on, do
it every day. So, so many great memories here. You know,
some memories that are heavy. So, yeah, that's real. I'm
at the point in my life at this age, I
(35:17):
reflect more than I did 10, 15 years ago. So
that's all part of it. So yeah, definitely I've had
time to do that. But the most important part of
it is the fact that you're the head coach of
the Pittsburgh Steelers, which I have a tremendous amount of
pride in. Not only being from here, but what the
(35:37):
Pittsburgh Steelers stand for and the responsibility that myself and
everybody has to this organization and really to the players
and coaches before us. So Trust me, that lays on
me every single day.
Speaker 5 (35:48):
It's important.
Speaker 2 (35:50):
It makes me jump out of bed.
Speaker 18 (35:52):
I'll definitely be ready to go Sunday.
Speaker 2 (35:55):
I got to see video of it if he can
jump out of bed. I don't know. Does anybody jump
out of bed?
Speaker 1 (36:01):
I just don't picture him being much of a jumper
in general, let alone out of bed.
Speaker 2 (36:05):
Yes, but nobody jumps out of bed, right?
Speaker 1 (36:09):
Even if you've got to get up at your alarm,
nobody hears their alarm goes off and immediately jumps out.
Speaker 6 (36:17):
No.
Speaker 2 (36:18):
Figure of speech.
Speaker 1 (36:20):
Mike McCarthy ain't jumping out of bed, or I don't
know if he's getting too much air anywhere, to be honest.
Speaker 2 (36:26):
Air McCarthy?
Speaker 1 (36:28):
I think like you, Bob, you say it all the time.
We're ground creatures, McCarthy. We're ground creatures, coach. We're not
meant to fly. We're not high flyers.
Speaker 2 (36:38):
Mike McCarthy, the Greenfield ground creature.
Speaker 1 (36:41):
We're ground and pond, okay? we're not going off the
top rope. We're ground and pond.
Speaker 2 (36:47):
Mike McCarthy don't like leaving his feet. All right. Uh,
here was Mike McCarthy.
Speaker 1 (36:51):
Of course he was, you know, he's got the history
with Aaron Rogers and the Packers and beat the Steelers
for a Superbowl back in the day. And this is, uh,
it's the first time we're going to see him because
Aaron Rogers didn't play no preseason or anything like that.
So we get regular season, Aaron Rogers, Mike, meow, McCarthy.
Speaker 18 (37:07):
I'm looking forward to, you know, getting back in the
saddle with Aaron. Um, but, Yeah, I'm looking forward to it.
It's been a minute since him and I have worked
together in that aspect of it. I'm trying to give
you a real witty... you know, whatever stays at Chauncey's
type thing here, but I just don't have it today.
Speaker 2 (37:26):
I apologize.
Speaker 1 (37:28):
Listen, this guy, he's trying to drop Chauncey's. This guy's
everything we, we needed. He's working Chauncey's. I just hope
this guy's a winning coach, man, because he's got a,
he's got the total package.
Speaker 2 (37:39):
He's got Pittsburgh on his back.
Speaker 1 (37:41):
And seriously, he gets asked a question about Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 2 (37:44):
Like, you know, he'll, you know, I'm trying to think
of something witty here. Back in the saddle.
Speaker 18 (37:50):
About like whatever stays, whatever happens at Chauncey's.
Speaker 1 (37:52):
It's, Chauncey's, again, for people who don't know, used to
be a club down Station Square.
Speaker 2 (37:56):
He was a bouncer. I mean, before our time. Yeah,
he was a bouncer down there. I mean, we were
at the ass end of Chauncey's, I think. We spent
a couple nights in there. Yeah, it wasn't Chauncey. It
wasn't Pete. Mike McCarthy wasn't outside bouncing or anything like that. Yeah,
it wasn't the heyday.
Speaker 1 (38:12):
Mike McCarthy, not a bouncer either.
Speaker 2 (38:14):
I mean, at Chauncey's he was, but physically, Mike McCarthy,
not a good bouncer. Doesn't like to jump or bounce.
Speaker 1 (38:20):
Yeah, bouncing probably not a strong suit either. Steelers Sunday,
home opener. It's going to be fun, man. I want
a nasty win. Hey, we win by more than 10
points or by 10 points or something.
Speaker 2 (38:35):
This city's going to be like, all we needed was...
It was McCarthy. Make you feel good.
Speaker 1 (38:40):
I already can't wait for Steelers Facebook comments on Monday morning.
Speaker 2 (38:44):
Pittsburgh's going to the meow, meow, meow. There we go.
Speaker 1 (38:52):
Get our Mikey and Bob podcast if you miss any
of the live show. Brought to us by our friends
at the C. Harper Auto Group. It is Mikey and Bob.
Let's get to this.
Speaker 2 (38:59):
Here we go.
Speaker 5 (39:00):
Oh, boy.
Speaker 2 (39:01):
Big Bob.
Speaker 14 (39:01):
Oh.
Speaker 19 (39:02):
Here we go.
Speaker 2 (39:03):
For you?
Speaker 15 (39:04):
Pittsburgh's gonna wish you a happy birthday.
Speaker 2 (39:07):
Come on. Here we go. I don't know. We're not
doing that. Bob's birthday is.
Speaker 1 (39:12):
we go new year's day yeah i like it i
like it let's get to uh let's get to a
uh call here mikey and bob hello good morning.
Speaker 6 (39:19):
Mikey and bob how are you today.
Speaker 2 (39:21):
Well good morning buttons.
Speaker 6 (39:23):
Hey you had a birthday mikey right you know i.
Speaker 2 (39:27):
Did buttons it was september 3rd.
Speaker 6 (39:29):
Yeah i'm so sorry I missed it. I'm so sorry
I heard that. And I thought, what can I do
special for your birthday? You know, because every day is
Bob's birthday.
Speaker 2 (39:41):
That's right, Buttons. That's right. That's what he thinks.
Speaker 6 (39:45):
You know what I'm going to do for you, Mikey?
Speaker 2 (39:47):
I hope it's a sweet song.
Speaker 1 (39:50):
I'm going to.
Speaker 6 (39:50):
Go Marilyn Monroe on you.
Speaker 2 (39:52):
Yes.
Speaker 6 (39:54):
Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday,
dear Mikey. Happy birthday to you.
Speaker 2 (40:14):
Wow.
Speaker 6 (40:15):
Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you.
Speaker 2 (40:21):
Happy birthday.
Speaker 6 (40:23):
Happy birthday to you. Ooh. I had to throw a
little bit of Stevie Wonder in there. You know what
I'm saying?
Speaker 2 (40:30):
Stevie Wonder's got the best birthday song.
Speaker 9 (40:33):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 1 (40:33):
Buttons, I thank you so much. And Bob's over here
smiling because he thinks you were singing to him, too.
Speaker 2 (40:39):
Well, I mean, the Stevie Wonder was for me. Marilyn
Monroe was for you.
Speaker 1 (40:42):
Oh, okay.
Speaker 2 (40:43):
I know how Buttons works.
Speaker 6 (40:47):
Well, I hope you had a wonderful, wonderful birthday.
Speaker 2 (40:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (40:51):
And, you know, you're probably not as old as me,
but when you get as old as I am, you
just celebrate your birthday for the whole entire year.
Speaker 12 (41:01):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (41:02):
Yeah. And you're right, Buttons.
Speaker 3 (41:03):
You're right.
Speaker 1 (41:04):
You're right.
Speaker 2 (41:05):
Every day's a celebration.
Speaker 6 (41:07):
Every day's a celebration. And I heard you talking about
somebody sending... Bob some kind of nuts for his truck.
Speaker 2 (41:14):
Yeah, truck nuts, yeah. It's a little disturbing, but also hilarious.
Speaker 6 (41:19):
Hilarious. But have you ever had chocolate-covered Twinkies?
Speaker 2 (41:24):
Chocolate-covered Twinkies? I don't think I have. No, but I
like what you're doing here.
Speaker 6 (41:27):
I'm going to try to send you both some chocolate-covered
Twinkies from Patty Cake. in Bloomfield, okay?
Speaker 1 (41:36):
Hey, Buttons, so you're telling me I got truck nuts
and I got chocolate-covered Twinkies coming?
Speaker 2 (41:40):
I might be having the best birthday ever.
Speaker 6 (41:43):
That's some Twinkies. I don't even know. That sounds like
a good combination.
Speaker 1 (41:48):
Buttons, thank you so much for the nice birthday wishes.
I guess for me and Bob. It's good to hear
from you. You have a wonderful day, okay?
Speaker 6 (41:57):
Hey, y'all have a fabulous day.
Speaker 2 (41:59):
I love you both.
Speaker 6 (42:00):
Happy birthday, Mikey!
Speaker 2 (42:03):
Thank you, buttons. Bye, buttons.
Speaker 1 (42:05):
All right.
Speaker 16 (42:05):
All right.
Speaker 2 (42:06):
Bye, Bob. Kiss.
Speaker 1 (42:08):
It is Mikey and Bob here on 96.1 Kiss. It's
time to get some positivity.
Speaker 2 (42:12):
On the show.
Speaker 1 (42:13):
It's time to say something nice.
Speaker 2 (42:17):
Say something nice. Say something nice.
Speaker 5 (42:20):
Hey guys, it's Rachel. I just want to do a ooo-wee.
Say something nice. Say something nice.
Speaker 2 (42:30):
Say something nice. Say something nice. Say something nice.
Speaker 12 (42:37):
To my fiance, the wedding is getting very close and
I am getting a little bit.
Speaker 5 (42:44):
Stressed out, but he.
Speaker 6 (42:46):
Just has been my.
Speaker 5 (42:47):
Constant, and he's kind of brought me back to reality.
Speaker 2 (42:50):
Nice.
Speaker 5 (42:50):
I just appreciate him more than he knows.
Speaker 2 (42:53):
That's nice.
Speaker 1 (42:54):
I think you've got to know that as a couple,
you're going to get married. Just remember, your wedding day
is supposed to be one of the happiest days of
your life. yeah don't let anybody tell you what to
do how it's supposed to go it's between you and
him if something goes wrong too just keep keep it
moving nobody else is gonna notice it only you know
yeah you're way overthinking everything.
Speaker 2 (43:15):
Yeah i mean you know what else too you know
what else too hello Oh, say something nice. Say something nice. What,
you like a dance move? Dude, don't worry about it.
I'm just doing it for you. I'm just doing it
for you. Say something nice.
Speaker 14 (43:32):
Say something nice. You want to see my moves again?
Speaker 2 (43:40):
Say something nice. Say something nice.
Speaker 14 (43:43):
Good morning, Mikey and Big Bob.
Speaker 5 (43:45):
Hey. It's Dawn, the meat lady.
Speaker 2 (43:47):
Dawn, the meat lady. Dawn, we love Dawn, the meat lady.
Speaker 1 (43:52):
She showed up like last month, I think it was,
in the parking lot.
Speaker 2 (43:55):
Parking lot meat. Yeah, with meat for Bob. You ever
cook them steaks? Not yet. Are they just in your
freezer or something like that? Hey, they're good. Hey, Steelers
home opener.
Speaker 12 (44:06):
Oh, jeez.
Speaker 19 (44:07):
Here we go.
Speaker 2 (44:08):
Why don't you bust that meat out, huh? Come on.
With my meat out?
Speaker 1 (44:12):
Bro, you live close enough for me. I'll smell that meat,
and I'll be like a cartoon. I'll just float right
over your house.
Speaker 2 (44:18):
My gosh. Black and gold meat day? Hey, let her
have her message. Oh, okay. Say something nice.
Speaker 9 (44:25):
Huh?
Speaker 2 (44:26):
Ooh, wee. Ooh, wee. Say something nice. Say something nice.
Speaker 5 (44:33):
I am calling to say something nice.
Speaker 14 (44:36):
About my daughter, Riley, and my boyfriend, Dustin, also known
as Dusty Buns.
Speaker 2 (44:41):
Dusty Buns.
Speaker 14 (44:42):
For making today extremely special. Today is my 40th birthday,
and I've been really depressed about it.
Speaker 1 (44:49):
No, no.
Speaker 5 (44:50):
But they have found a way to make this day
just perfect.
Speaker 14 (44:53):
So thank you to both of them.
Speaker 5 (44:55):
You know, the day's just started, and I'm sure I've
got more surprises coming up.
Speaker 2 (44:59):
Mm-hmm.
Speaker 5 (45:00):
But... I also wanted to say happy birthday to Big Bob.
Speaker 2 (45:03):
Oh, come on.
Speaker 5 (45:04):
Birthday twins.
Speaker 1 (45:05):
Birthday twins.
Speaker 14 (45:07):
No, no. And Mikey, I know you don't say that
your birthday is.
Speaker 2 (45:11):
It's over.
Speaker 5 (45:11):
Anymore, but I'd like to think that you and I
are birthday twins too.
Speaker 9 (45:16):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (45:16):
All right.
Speaker 5 (45:17):
So happy birthday.
Speaker 2 (45:18):
You know what, Dawn? Happy birthday to you. Yeah. Happy
40th birthday. Everything's going to be okay. You're very nice.
Birthday twin.
Speaker 3 (45:25):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 9 (45:25):
Boom.
Speaker 2 (45:29):
Say something nice. Say something nice.
Speaker 1 (45:32):
You can always send your say something nice messages if
you want to get on the show. Just get on

96.1 KISS. Let's get to another talkback message brought to
us by One Team Media. You can send them through
(46:20):
the free iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 9 (46:21):
Hello, Pizza Pie and Pepperoni Roll.
Speaker 19 (46:23):
It's Colorado Dan calling in. I was just catching up
on the podcast and wanted to let you know my kids...
Thought the story about the fart corner was hilarious.
Speaker 17 (46:32):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 1 (46:33):
Last week on the show, you're talking about this. This
teacher went super viral on TikTok because she established for
elementary school kids a fart corner.
Speaker 2 (46:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (46:41):
Where they were going in the corner, fart and just
go back to class instead of just, you know, farting
in your seat.
Speaker 2 (46:46):
You go to the fart corner. I don't know.
Speaker 1 (46:49):
Like, I get it, but it seems like that would
disturb the entire class.
Speaker 2 (46:53):
All right.
Speaker 19 (46:53):
Staying on that same topic. Did you guys know that
there's smart underwear now that can track how much you
fart per day?
Speaker 2 (47:00):
Okay. I really hope you.
Speaker 19 (47:01):
Guys have some time today to investigate and report back
on air your thoughts on that product.
Speaker 13 (47:07):
Thanks, and have a good one.
Speaker 2 (47:09):
Listen.
Speaker 1 (47:10):
I have eight cats, and I use this litter called
Pretty Litter that's supposed to let you know if one
of your cats is sick or something like that.
Speaker 2 (47:22):
Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (47:24):
I don't think I need fart underwear to tell me
what my body's doing.
Speaker 2 (47:30):
I don't need a computer down there.
Speaker 1 (47:32):
No. Also, because I feel like I can challenge for
whatever the high score is, you know?
Speaker 2 (47:39):
If we're keeping score with fart underwear, watch out. Is
this some type of game? It's going to be some
sort of distraction for me.
Speaker 1 (47:46):
All right, let's go from fart corner to butt juice.
Remember last week on the show we had Butt Juice Kid.
He's 10 years old. He had a birthday around Labor
Day just like me, and he sent this message.
Speaker 2 (47:57):
Hey, Mikey and Bob.
Speaker 10 (47:59):
It's Butt Juice Kid. I had a question for you, Mikey.
So my birthday is September 5th, I'll be 10 years old,
and I'm still a Labor Day baby like you. But
doesn't it bug you that all the other holiday babies
get their own day?
Speaker 1 (48:13):
Yeah, Butch's kid was upset about it. Let's get to
George here.
Speaker 5 (48:16):
Hey, what's going on, fellas?
Speaker 17 (48:17):
George here, catching up on Wednesday Morning's podcast. Not for me,
because my birthday is not really anything, it's just June 29th.
But my daughter's birthday is April 16th. Sometimes it's around Easter.
Sometimes it is Easter. Sometimes Easter is in a completely
different month. For her, I stand with you too, butt
(48:37):
juice kid.
Speaker 10 (48:38):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (48:38):
All right, y'all take it easy.
Speaker 1 (48:39):
What are we doing here? Stand with butt juice. I
stand with butt juice.
Speaker 2 (48:44):
All right, hold on. Hello, this is Jess.
Speaker 8 (48:46):
I have a message for butt juice kid.
Speaker 1 (48:49):
Okay, what is going on here? All right, hey. We're
just butt juices like voice messaging service.
Speaker 2 (48:54):
Where's the 10-year-old? I want to speak to butt juice.
Speaker 8 (48:57):
The other day he was talking about how Labor Day
birthdays are sometimes on a holiday and sometimes not on
a holiday and how it's a ripoff. I'm on the
opposite end of that. I am a December 25th Christmas
Day every single year, baby. And I also want to
say from one winter holiday baby to another, happy birthday.
Speaker 1 (49:20):
Bob yeah bob's birthday is uh thank you birthday twin
it is uh new year's day yeah i just i
just really love that we have become the answering service
for a 10 year old that we call hi mike
and bob is butt juice there Hey, guys, great show.
Been listening a long time.
Speaker 2 (49:36):
Does butt juice work with you? Oh, happy birthday, Bob.
Is butt juice there?
Speaker 1 (49:42):
Hey, we appreciate you listening to our Mikey and Bob podcast,
but it's not just listening to the show. It's seeing
clips of the show, seeing pictures of us in our
daily lives.
Speaker 2 (49:57):
Be our friends. Seeing pictures of my cats. That's right.
We're on Instagram, of course.
Speaker 1 (50:02):
You can follow us, if you don't already, at FSMikey
for me.
Speaker 2 (50:06):
At FSBigBob for me. FS stands for Freak Show. Yeah.
We made it a long time ago. What are you
going to do?
Speaker 1 (50:14):
Follow us on Instagram, at FSMikey, at FSBigBob, if you
love content.
Speaker 5 (50:21):
It's so easy.
Speaker 1 (50:23):
Oh, oh. We want to send you to the Steelers'
home opener on Sunday. Send us a talkback message through
the free iHeartRadio app. Talkback message is brought to us
by The Pavement Group.
Speaker 6 (50:37):
Here we go, Steelers.
Speaker 1 (50:40):
Here we go. Here we go.
Speaker 5 (50:42):
Steelers, here we go.
Speaker 12 (50:45):
Pittsburgh's going to the meow, meow, meow, meow.
Speaker 17 (50:50):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 2 (50:50):
Hi, Mikey and Bob.
Speaker 14 (50:51):
This is the Hummel family, and we are leaving you
a message to hopefully win tickets to the Steeler game
this Sunday.
Speaker 5 (50:59):
Thanks.
Speaker 1 (51:01):
Pittsburgh's going to the meow, meow, meow, meow.
Speaker 2 (51:06):
There you go.
Speaker 1 (51:07):
All right, qualified for Steelers tickets, you just got to
send us a talkback message through the free iHeartRadio app. Now,
it's time to get to our guy. We haven't heard
from him in a while, but with Steelers season upon us, Nate,
the crazy Italian guy, has dressed up in an old
school fighter pilot suit. I guess outfit. He's got goggles
(51:31):
on the, the helmet, the goggles. You remember when like
Snoopy was the fighter pilot and he was riding his, uh,
like the red Baron.
Speaker 2 (51:39):
Like the leather helmet and the goggles.
Speaker 1 (51:42):
And, uh, he requested that before he come in, give
him the top gun music, ladies and gentlemen, to.
Speaker 2 (51:50):
Get us all hype for Sunday and the Steelers.
Speaker 1 (51:56):
It is Nate.
Speaker 2 (51:58):
The Clean Italian Guy.
Speaker 7 (52:01):
Steeler season's happening. That's what's happening. And the Steelers are
going to fly high. We are going to be the
top guns of the NFL. Let me tell you first,
one second, before we get more into this.
Speaker 15 (52:18):
Let's go, Buccos.
Speaker 7 (52:20):
Give me a winning season, Buccos. You had the talent
for a playoff run, but all I'm asking is, Give
me a winning season, Buccos. I love you, Buccos.
Speaker 2 (52:32):
Now, we have a winning season.
Speaker 7 (52:36):
And the Steelers are going to have a Super Bowl season.
Nobody will be able to fly with us. We'll be
above everyone else. Mike McCarthy is bringing a new era.
We are offensive-minded. For the first time in the franchise.
Speaker 1 (52:56):
The oddsmakers.
Speaker 7 (52:57):
I'm going to have to change everything because we're going
to put so many points on the board.
Speaker 2 (53:02):
Do you understand? This is a new Steelers, a new era,
a new.
Speaker 7 (53:08):
Time, and a seventh Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (53:11):
What we do now will bring a celebration. Early 27.
Speaker 7 (53:16):
First, a seventh Super.
Speaker 2 (53:20):
Bowl for the Steelers.
Speaker 7 (53:21):
And then right after that, a best actor Oscar for talkers.
He's going to win Best Actor, and we are going.
Speaker 2 (53:31):
To win the Super Bowl.
Speaker 7 (53:33):
Let's go, Steelers!
Speaker 1 (53:40):
Some sad news from overnight. If you're a big hockey fan,
you know, watching Penguins games when they've been on ESPN
or just NHL coverage, Barry Melrose, very just huge popular
hockey personality, dead of the ageist.
Speaker 2 (53:55):
What, 70?
Speaker 1 (53:55):
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Some sad news. Guy had an awesome mullet.
He was like, you know, he played in the NHL.
He coached for a little while, I think, with the
LA Kings. Just one of those hockey personalities that everybody knows.
With us growing up, he was like the face of
the NHL for ESPN. Yeah, Barry Melrose has passed at
the age of 70. It is Mikey and Bob here
(54:16):
on 96.1 KISS. Let's get to some more of your
talkback messages. Just download our free iHeartRadio app. Easiest way
to get in touch with us and the show. And
talkback messages brought to us by The Pavement Group.
Speaker 2 (54:26):
Hey, Mikey, Bob, Mark, for me, though.
Speaker 9 (54:28):
I was just finishing listening up to the Birthday Batty podcast.
Speaker 2 (54:31):
So, of course, I need to call in and wish
Mikey a happy birthday. That's over. Happy birthday, Mikey!
Speaker 5 (54:37):
Oh, it's over.
Speaker 2 (54:38):
All right, have a good day, guys. That's over, Mark.
Speaker 1 (54:39):
I appreciate it, but it's a week ago. My birthday
was a week ago. We are done with my birthday.
Speaker 2 (54:45):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (54:49):
Okay, hey, the present came for you yesterday, not me. So, obviously,
I'm not getting birthday presents anymore. What a gift, too.
This story is so funny because a wonderful listener of
the show that we call the Toilet T-Rex, her real
name's Gina, Gina was messaging me on Instagram and said, hey,
there's something coming in the mail.
Speaker 2 (55:10):
This was like last week.
Speaker 1 (55:12):
And sometimes people will just send us stuff. Sometimes people
will let us know packages coming for you guys to
be on the lookout. So we were on the lookout
for Gina's package. Never came.
Speaker 2 (55:20):
She said, okay, it's signed off on everything. It should
be there. Nope, never came. Never saw it.
Speaker 1 (55:26):
And I thought, did she send it to our old
station address? Did she send it to the gold DVE
building in Green Tree? Because we're in Bridgeville, Mal. You
send something there, I don't even know where.
Speaker 2 (55:36):
It goes, right? Right, right. So we're walking out of
the station yesterday.
Speaker 1 (55:43):
And I see a package sitting just in an open area,
just all alone. And sometimes when packages get sent to
our building and nobody knows where they go or who
they're for, they just sort of set them in a
communal area on the first floor.
Speaker 2 (55:57):
And then whose package is this?
Speaker 1 (55:58):
Yeah, because we're in a building with different businesses, different offices.
If it's not directly addressed to us, that's, I guess,
where it goes, by the front door. So we're walking
out of the station yesterday, and I see a package.
And it just has... Gina's name written on it. And
I stopped and I said, wait a minute. That has
to be the package that she sent, but she addressed
(56:20):
it to herself.
Speaker 2 (56:23):
So that's why we didn't get it.
Speaker 1 (56:25):
And then I notice that it's already been opened, but
somebody put tape over it to, like, oh, it's not
for me, and closed it back up. I wonder if
there's a Gina that works in another office in our
building someplace.
Speaker 2 (56:39):
I hope not.
Speaker 1 (56:40):
And, like, Gina got the package. Oh, this must have
been the Gina. And it's just sitting on Gina the
office lady's desk. It was a set of truck nuts
for Bob's Dodge Ram.
Speaker 2 (56:51):
I ain't big.
Speaker 1 (56:53):
Big blue heavy and you hang them off the back
of your i mean i don't need to explain truck
knots but big and heavy big i mean really heavy
like that's got to be a pound or two right
they were the package was pre-opened and then taped back
up and just like this isn't for me so somebody
opened the package somebody in our building sent to us
(57:15):
opened it up and said whatever that is that's not
for me Maybe multiple people opened it up before they realized, oh,
somebody mailed truck nuts. I'm surprised they didn't just send
it to us. Like, hey, it must be for Mike
and Bob. Whoever got it on one of these floors
in our building, like in other offices, I just imagined
(57:37):
the reaction.
Speaker 2 (57:37):
And then... You got to call other people in to
see what they got.
Speaker 1 (57:41):
It was probably an entire thing around here. Just people just,
did you see this? Gina's desk.
Speaker 2 (57:48):
Hold on. Toilet T-Rex sent us a message here.
Speaker 12 (57:50):
Good morning, Mikey and Bob. It's the Toilet T-Rex.
Speaker 2 (57:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 12 (57:54):
I'm cracking up over.
Speaker 2 (57:55):
Opening the package because I'm glad you finally got it.
We did, yeah. But yesterday when I was.
Speaker 12 (58:00):
At work and Mikey told me that they got it,
I was like, what if somebody else opened it?
Speaker 6 (58:05):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (58:05):
And was like, whose f * * * ing sock
is this?
Speaker 12 (58:07):
I was telling my co-workers and we were all cracking up.
I love you and have.
Speaker 1 (58:11):
A good day.
Speaker 12 (58:12):
Bye-bye.
Speaker 1 (58:13):
Probably exactly what happened i mean it's probably exactly what
happened i think yes on one of the other floors
somebody took the package up and it was maybe for
their gina and said i don't know you're the only
gina that works in this building opens it up whose
are these thank you toilet t-rex we appreciate.
Speaker 7 (58:31):
It thank you 96 one isn't the view spectacular.
Speaker 1 (58:38):
Get our Mikey and Bob podcast after the show on
the free iHeartRadio app brought to us by our good
friends over at the C.
Speaker 2 (58:44):
Harper Auto Group. Let's get to this talkback message.
Speaker 4 (58:46):
Hey, Mikey and Bob, World Cup James. I was catching
up on Wednesday's podcast and... After the part about Bob
talking about his dark web ribbon dancing career, it got
me also thinking about my wife and I were at
a restaurant and I couldn't help but notice there was
(59:07):
a granny that went out and was smoking cigs maybe
every five minutes.
Speaker 2 (59:14):
Wow. A real life cig smoking granny.
Speaker 4 (59:19):
So it got me thinking about Bob's hyper fixations as
those were both two of the things on the list.
from a few months ago with ribbon dancing and grannies
who bake and grannies who smoke. I think I'm due
with those two things happening in the course of one day.
Speaker 2 (59:38):
That's amazing.
Speaker 1 (59:39):
You got two of Bob's hyper fixations in one day.
Speaker 4 (59:43):
For a playthrough of all of Bob's hyper fixations, if
we can find somewhere to squeeze that in.
Speaker 2 (59:47):
All right.
Speaker 1 (59:48):
I think this started with a Star Wars conversation because
I feel like Star Wars is one of my hyper fixations.
And then I was just saying, hey, hey, Bob, what
are you know, list off some of your hyper fixations.
Speaker 2 (59:59):
Needs mustaches, fishing nipples. OK, I'm not sexy, sexy, big people, sexy,
big men in general.
Speaker 1 (01:00:10):
None of the answers I was expecting out of you.
But if you want to call those your hyper fixations, absolutely.
You've been listening to the show.
Speaker 2 (01:00:18):
Harry guys.
Speaker 1 (01:00:22):
One of mine is obviously if you've been listening to
the show long enough, clowns without pants.
Speaker 12 (01:00:34):
This is Autumn in Florida, the wiener dog mom of Vader.
I'm a big Star Wars and Marvel fan, so this
really is for you, Mikey.
Speaker 1 (01:00:42):
Yeah, Star Wars and Marvel, two of my hyper fixations.
You got any more, Bob?
Speaker 2 (01:00:47):
Lunch, ladies.
Speaker 5 (01:00:48):
And I was.
Speaker 12 (01:00:50):
calling to tell you, well, first of all, we could
have lots of garage talks about Marvel and Star Wars.
Speaker 1 (01:00:56):
Yeah, hanging out in my garage, also a hyper fixation
of mine, too.
Speaker 2 (01:00:59):
You got any more, Bob? Ribbon dancing.
Speaker 12 (01:01:01):
But also, I was calling because the other day you
said that you don't like Vader and you said he
kills children.
Speaker 2 (01:01:09):
Yeah, I love Star Wars.
Speaker 1 (01:01:11):
Darth Vader is a necessary character in Star Wars, but
he's not one of my favorite characters because he kills kids.
Speaker 12 (01:01:17):
Vader did not do what you accused him of doing.
Speaker 1 (01:01:20):
Anakin Skywalker grows up to be Darth Vader, right? So
we're talking about the same person here. What's another one
of your hyperfixations, Bob? Grannies who bake and grannies who smoke.
Speaker 2 (01:01:30):
Smoke! Cigarettes! Cig grannies.
Speaker 12 (01:01:38):
Only later in the 2000s did we meet Anakin Skywalker
in Episode 1.
Speaker 2 (01:01:43):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (01:01:44):
By the way, whatever she's talking about with Star Wars,
it has gone off the rails with Bob's hyperfixations.
Speaker 12 (01:01:50):
And it was Episode 3 before he became Vader.
Speaker 6 (01:01:53):
Oh, okay.
Speaker 12 (01:01:54):
So Vader did not execute Order 66.
Speaker 1 (01:01:57):
Okay, that's when the kids get killed. Order 66. Have
you been wrong about the... Darth Vader hot take all week? Well,
kind of because Darth Vader doesn't technically kill the kids.
Speaker 2 (01:02:07):
It's Anakin Skywalker.
Speaker 1 (01:02:08):
But Anakin Skywalker is basically turning into Darth Vader when
he's killing the kids.
Speaker 2 (01:02:13):
What's another one of your hyper fixations? Cinnamon bun.
Speaker 12 (01:02:16):
It was Anakin. So you don't have to be an
Anakin fan because who likes Anakin? But you should be
a Vader fan because he makes cool noises.
Speaker 2 (01:02:25):
Star Wars, one of my hyper fixations. You ever want
to talk about Star Wars? I'm your guy. Any more
hyper fixations you want to share, Bob? You ever want
to talk about koalas with chlamydia? I'm your guy.
Speaker 1 (01:02:40):
Our friend Opal just sent me a message on Instagram.
Jimmy Fallon last night. He's going back and forth with this,
you know, planted member of his audience. They're doing a
whole bit because, of course, the NFL season is here.
The Seahawks beat the Patriots last night. We got the
Australia game tonight on Netflix. It's 49ers and Rams. And then,
of course, Steelers on Sunday taking on the Falcons. So
(01:03:02):
Jimmy Fallon's doing this thing where he's got this song
going back and forth about NFL logos.
Speaker 2 (01:03:07):
The Broncos have a Bronco. The Bears have a Bear.
Speaker 4 (01:03:10):
The Vikings have.
Speaker 2 (01:03:11):
A Viking with really long hair.
Speaker 4 (01:03:13):
The Dolphins have a Dolphin.
Speaker 2 (01:03:15):
The Lions have a Lion.
Speaker 15 (01:03:16):
The Eagles have an Eagle who's ready.
Speaker 2 (01:03:18):
To start flying. And what about the Steelers?
Speaker 1 (01:03:21):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 19 (01:03:23):
It's just like a, you know, hey, let's come back
to that.
Speaker 4 (01:03:27):
The Ravens have a raven.
Speaker 9 (01:03:28):
The Panthers have a panther.
Speaker 2 (01:03:30):
The Falcons have a falcon.
Speaker 11 (01:03:31):
Yep, that's the right answer.
Speaker 3 (01:03:33):
But what about the Steelers?
Speaker 19 (01:03:34):
It's like three pointy things in a circle or something.
Speaker 2 (01:03:37):
Leave me alone. I don't know what their logo is.
Speaker 1 (01:03:39):
All right, again, this is Jimmy Fallon trying to do
the NFL logos.
Speaker 2 (01:03:43):
A little confused about the Steelers one. It ain't that easy. Sir,
calm down. If you had to guess what the Steelers
logo was, what would you say?
Speaker 4 (01:03:51):
I mean, I'd assume it's three hypocycloids representing coal, ore,
and scrap, the three primary components used to make steel.
Speaker 2 (01:04:01):
That's exactly right. The NFL's back.
Speaker 3 (01:04:04):
Let's make some noise because the Steelers logo has hypocycloids.
Speaker 2 (01:04:09):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (01:04:11):
Explosion there, man. Putting the Steelers on the spotlight on
the Tonight Show with Fallon.
Speaker 2 (01:04:17):
It's pretty funny. They did there. Hypocycloids.
Speaker 1 (01:04:21):
You see Harry Styles announced his tour dates. I mean,
I'm excited for that, but it.
Speaker 2 (01:04:28):
2027? Yeah, we don't get one in Pittsburgh. Closest he's
coming is Chicago. Is Toronto closer than Toronto and Chicago? Wow,
what's closer, Toronto or Chicago? I think Toronto might actually
be closer. I would say Chicago's. I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:04:48):
He's going to Phoenix, Dallas, L.A. Oh, places with domed stadiums?
Speaker 2 (01:04:54):
Yeah. Oh, wow. Do we get one here in Pittsburgh?
Let's check in with Mr. Rooney. Over my dead body.
Speaker 6 (01:05:00):
All right.
Speaker 2 (01:05:00):
No Harry Styles for us, Pittsburgh. We don't got a dome. Atlanta, Chicago,
and then he's doing a bunch overseas.
Speaker 1 (01:05:06):
Yeah, he made a post yesterday saying, hey, I'm announcing
more dates to my tour.
Speaker 2 (01:05:10):
But then.
Speaker 1 (01:05:11):
It almost sounded like he was talking retirement or something.
Like he made a post that was like, I'm going
to be gone. Oh, he's ending the tour in Wembley
over in London.
Speaker 6 (01:05:21):
Oh, geez.
Speaker 2 (01:05:22):
Three back-to-back shows. I mean, that's going to be. If
that's where he goes out, that's probably where he'd want
to go out, right?
Speaker 7 (01:05:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:05:28):
Well, we'll see now. You know.
Speaker 1 (01:05:30):
We get a lot of artists that are like, all right, I'm,
I'm done. And then like, all right, five years, four
years later, I mean.
Speaker 2 (01:05:37):
Listen, Harry Styles ain't done. We still need a proper wonder. Well,
we can never have a proper one direction reunion though. Yeah,
that's not going to happen. Dude. Laney Wilson's opening for
him on a couple of shows here or overseas here. And, uh,
all right. Laney Wilson show actually in Toronto, Toronto, Laney
Wilson's opening for him. Well, is that closer than Chicago?
Speaker 6 (01:05:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:06:01):
Doc and Harry. Hey. Harry, Doc.
Speaker 7 (01:06:03):
Hey.
Speaker 2 (01:06:07):
Hey, Steelers. you're gonna need a dome at some point
it's just.
Speaker 3 (01:06:11):
