Speaker 1 (00:00):
You look amazing. I want to steal your whole poset.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Oh my gosh, we'll stay. I want to steal yours.
We'll just go back and forth.

Speaker 3 (00:06):
Yes, nine to one nine is in the house, Roley's
favorite daughter, Lee's bill high from Priscilla Block.

Speaker 4 (00:14):
Let's go.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
It's how we doing? I think as you're here with
us now? Party is here the block party Baby.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
So I am curious because you just shift gears with
this album. Yeah, And I feel like the response to
this album has been in our circle overwhelmingly Yes, like positive,
but it's heavy subject matter. Yeah, so like is it
a juxtaposition of like people receiving it because it is possible.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
No, I mean I'm blown away with how this record
has been just so overwhelmingly positive.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
I mean I got really vulnerable on it.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
And I think, like at the end of the day,
like wherever you're at in your life, like authenticity ones, yes,
and like this record was just really true to where
I've been in my life over the past couple of years.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
And there's still like quintessential vibes.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
You know, there's the goodwill to Gucci and Cecilia and
stuff like that, but you know it's I wanted to
title it Things You Didn't See because I think there's
a lot of pieces of my life that people might
not know about, and I wanted to share that story
on the record.

Speaker 4 (01:13):
I learned a lot.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
And I've been following you for a long time because
you're from my hometown, so I definitely learned a lot.

Speaker 5 (01:18):
Yeah. I love that you're a girl's girl, a girl
from Gason County, A Bailey Marie.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
You let her open up for you at Kayodi Joe.

Speaker 4 (01:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:25):
She is still talking about that to this day, and
that was like a big moment for her. And I
love when artists do that, like you don't forget where
you come from and what it's like to start out,
and that you give other people opportunities.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Yeah, well, thank you. I try to do it. Try
to do it.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
The one question I had specifically about the record, I
think it's radio phones or radio.

Speaker 4 (01:43):
And radio radio. So I love that song.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
I just wanted the back story to that because it
made me feel it took me back to high school.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
Yeah, I mean, it definitely has that nostalgic feeling of
like the whole idea is you're in the middle of nowhere,
We're the only thing that should break up his phones
and radeos. Instead, it's your heart, like you hear it's over,
and you know that feeling like whether you've been through
a breakup or you didn't get what you wanted, or
like it's just the moment of being like, wow, it's
over and your heart just sink right, And so that

(02:13):
that song takes place like in the breakup, which is
kind of crazy.

Speaker 4 (02:16):
I'm definitely not dedicating to you. I'm just kidding yet.
Just start dropping knays. This is for Christy, this is.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
For hold On, I got Also.

Speaker 4 (02:32):
Let's go Alexandra Ku. Good to see you again.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
I mean we're being selfish with our time because I
feel like we do get to see you a lot,
but it never gets old.

Speaker 4 (02:40):
Thanks for making time.

Speaker 6 (02:41):
It gets better every time you feel like family. Get
forward to this one today.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Yeah, I just saw you at Kayatee Joe's. You blew
the place away. Guys, everybody, everybody loves you. Oh, thank you.
It was so much fun.

Speaker 4 (02:55):
I should know this. But was that the first time
playing time?

Speaker 1 (02:57):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (02:58):
So what was the because everyone hears stories about Kyte Joe's. Huh,
what was your impression going in? What was your impression
going out.

Speaker 7 (03:04):
Oh.

Speaker 6 (03:04):
I mean, you guys should have seen me. When I
was walking in there. It was like I was in
a museum. I was like, this place is freaking huge.
It just kept going and going and going, but I like,
I love it. It was just such a cool vibe
and everybody was rowdy, exactly how I always picture Coyote
Joe's would be.

Speaker 5 (03:19):
You know, you're gonna have to come back and get
on the ball because they did not have the bullwarking
that night, right, You've got to experience that at Kyote Joe.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
Okay, I'm on it next time.

Speaker 4 (03:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
If you could see one artist at Coyote Joe's now
experiencing being up there, who would it be?

Speaker 6 (03:32):
You think, like any artist, doesn't matter how big they
are right.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
Now, no matter how big they are, just someone that
you think in that venue after because you've already performed it,
you know what it's like on the stage.

Speaker 4 (03:40):
Who would you like to see him there?

Speaker 1 (03:42):
Garth Brooks? Oh?

Speaker 6 (03:43):
Yeah, because I'd love to at this point see Garth
Brooks come like out of a stadium, right, you know
what I mean, and see more of a broken down
show from him. I'm just such a huge fan of
his of his music, well.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
I would keep your head on a swivel. I don't
know if it's gonna happen this year, but a few
years ago he played a secret show on Broadway at
a bar and they closed the door after the first
I think one hundred and fifty people, and then he
played a three hour set's Dustin Lynch snug me in
the back after the front door closed. Yeah, and he
was like, you owe me for life because they'll kick
me out of here. And I was like, sure, oh

(04:14):
my god, ask around, maybe he'll do it again.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
Yeah, for sure. I got to get the inside scoop. Yeah, no,
is it true?

Speaker 5 (04:19):
So the first time I met you, you were on
tour with Jelly Roll. I was it was at the
Spectrum Center and I was talking to Jelly before he
came out, and.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
He's loved Alexandra k. He is the truth. He found
you through his daughter on TikTok. But yeah, he found
you and was like, dad, I love her.

Speaker 6 (04:34):
Yeah, that's that's totally true. So I actually before I
was signed to the label that I'm signed to right now, BMG,
I've been talking to them for four years before I
actually signed my deal and.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
Feels like every relationship I've ever been in. Yeah, it
takes a girl four years to agree to go to
coffee with me? Yeah yeah, yeah, probaly, I won't let
you go. I'll be back at I'll be back next week.

Speaker 4 (04:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
That was basically what it was like with us.

Speaker 6 (04:58):
And I had been talking to lot before so long,
and he had been keeping up with me, and we
were just waiting for the deal to be right right,
But I knew.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
That that's where I wanted to be.

Speaker 6 (05:06):
I just had a hangering like and I just like
knew in my heart that that's where I was going
to end up. So I would go to their CRS parties.
I would find my way at their Grammy parties.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
Wherever John lower lized.

Speaker 6 (05:17):
I was just strategically showing up right because I was like,
I'm not gonna let you forget me in the meantime.
And then I ran into Jelly at a CRS party
and he stopped me and he goes, oh my god,
the coffee girl, what are you doing here? And I
was like, oh my god, Jelly Roll, how do you
know me? And he was like, what are you doing here?
Are you signed here? And I was like I'm trying
to be That's why I showed up here. And he
was like, my daughter loves you, blah blah blah, and

(05:37):
we've been friends ever since.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
So yeah, that was amazing.

Speaker 4 (05:40):
Oh it was great.

Speaker 6 (05:41):
It was great, and honestly like he's been a friend
ever since. I reached out to him and I said, hey,
I would love to do this tour if you're still
looking for somebody, and he, you know, he's just took
me unders wing.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
Well, we love you.

Speaker 4 (05:54):
Kay, let's go.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
Drake Milligan in the house. How's the morning been. It's
crazy ce May week. We're in Nashville. It's been great.
I actually had I slept in a little bit of this.
I was gonna say, I don't mean to I don't
mean to brag. Yeah, but I did.

Speaker 6 (06:09):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (06:10):
You know.

Speaker 7 (06:10):
I actually had a great night last night Trey Wilman,
who just did my new record, pretty funny record. I
went over to his house, cooks some Heye, cooks some
Elk burgers and hung out with him and got by
the fireplace.

Speaker 4 (06:20):
Aquila loved it. Dreak a few tequila's. That's that's my
kind of night out, you know. So woke up feeling good.

Speaker 7 (06:27):
Radio, feeling great?

Speaker 1 (06:28):
Exactly, you got at least five hours of sleep?

Speaker 4 (06:30):
Oh yeah, I got way more than that.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
Oh yeah, you're bragging.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
Now, bookeet list for this week. We've been talking to
several amazingly talented like yourself. It seems like there's a
lot going on in the city. Everyone's got a different answer.
What's on the bucket list for you? And what what
do you sincerely enjoy outside of elk Burger's.

Speaker 7 (06:47):
Well, well, here's what I love is I love playing
playing country music for crowds. So actually, uh, the night
of the night of the awards, I want to be
down in a live Texas playing the show. You know,
we're getting on the road this week and we have
a fun run kind of out throughout Lubbock and Albuquerque
and Colorado, and so yeah, I'm looking forward to that. Yeah,
I'm still I'm still one. You know, I'm working, baby,

(07:08):
working always.

Speaker 3 (07:10):
We love the work. I think obviously, beating the pavement
is never a bad thing. We are doing this thing
called prey. So you pick up a random thing, pray
that it's not a terrible question, and put you on
the hot seat and answer.

Speaker 4 (07:22):
I'm going down to the bottom right.

Speaker 7 (07:26):
Oh your go to karaoke song that isn't country, Okay,
I will tear down a karaoke bar because it's it's
and it's terrible when you get a guy that could
see charaoke bar.

Speaker 4 (07:37):
I don't have that problem.

Speaker 7 (07:38):
I don't have that problem, but especially when they go
up there. It's a guy that can sing and goes
for it. But I I go in there and sing
my way and I go.

Speaker 4 (07:46):
My goodness, what is it? My way? My way?

Speaker 5 (07:52):
Given the end is so I think their final kurt.

Speaker 4 (08:00):
I mean, I go for it.

Speaker 3 (08:01):
Nobody in their right mind whatever boo that song? Oh
Christinos a loaded pick right there?

Speaker 1 (08:08):
Yeah, I'm sure at the karaoke bar and like a
perfect singer.

Speaker 3 (08:11):
Oh my goodness. Drake Milligan, Hey, thanks so much. Brother
Chris Young in the fielding.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
Looking good, black on black on black. I like it.

Speaker 4 (08:20):
I do this a lot, so it's good. I like it.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
It's a good, clean look and it's easy. Yeah.

Speaker 8 (08:25):
That was sort of my thing is like getting up
early in the morning. I just got back yesterday midday
from my last full Banshow of the year, and then
now I'm getting ready to roll into a Christmas tour.

Speaker 4 (08:34):
So that was christ. That was the first question there
that sarely wanted to get into.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
Yeah, on Instagram the brand new song.

Speaker 5 (08:41):
I love it because he Graham wants the way after
Thanksgiving to put up christ.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
That's sad.

Speaker 4 (08:45):
No, all right, so here we go, hang on, I
agree with him. Come on now, Chris, I agree with him.
I'm sorry.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
You just put out a Christmas home Belore.

Speaker 8 (08:55):
I know, I know, because that's when you're supposed to
put it, and I put out two.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
So I just spit out that early because we like
it that early.

Speaker 4 (09:02):
Some of you guys like it that early.

Speaker 8 (09:05):
I don't actually go full Christmas music until My family
always does Thanksgiving lunch, not dinner, right so as soon
as you're done with Thanksgiving lunch, it's on game on
before then.

Speaker 4 (09:18):
Yeah no, but I do start decorating because I've got
people hanging lights in my house right now. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (09:23):
Well, you mentioned this ain't your first rodeo. One of
the things, and it's a little bit more of a
serious question. The staying power in the different cycles and
genres of country that have come and gone over this
season and it will continue to evolve.

Speaker 4 (09:35):
What's the key thing for you? You know? I wish I
could tell you what that was.

Speaker 8 (09:38):
I would love to be able to bottle that and
just start selling that to people, like this is how
you do this. I just think I've been really lucky
with timing. Like obviously the work and the effort is
there from every artist, but anybody watching this right now,
it's sort of your fault.

Speaker 4 (09:53):
So thank you, and I love you.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
I love the necklace. Is there anything behind the lightning bolt?
I want the tattoo of a lightning bul Yeah.

Speaker 8 (10:00):
So if you've ever seen a line, he makes a
line of stuff. And obviously when the last number one
occurred before I got on the new label where obviously
I've got to say I think my proxy Till the
Last One Dies is the brand new single right now.

Speaker 4 (10:17):
But also real quick, right, is that the first time
you produced on something?

Speaker 8 (10:20):
No, And it's funny everybody's asked me that question. They
let me talk about it a lot more. Black River
was like especially there, like say more.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
Say more.

Speaker 8 (10:30):
Yeah, So it's it's really interesting. I've been co producing
my stuff since I'm coming over, so yeah, I was,
I've been co producing my stuff Like.

Speaker 4 (10:39):
That can't be right, Yeah, i'd be right, but okay.

Speaker 8 (10:41):
Yeah, but yeah that's this is actually his company, so
giving him a shout out.

Speaker 4 (10:45):
Love you buddy, awesome for showing everybody
