Speaker 1 (00:00):
Let's do it.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
We are Graham in the Morning, starts now on ninety
six point nine The Cat.

Speaker 3 (00:07):
It's Monday Cat Country, and I know you do not
need that reminder, but we are combating it in the
best way possible.

Speaker 4 (00:14):
We got a busy show. Now I'm biased.

Speaker 3 (00:16):
I love getting up coming in here, I make my coffee,
I think about some funny stories to share with you.
Which something happened to me on an airplane coming back
from Philadelphia and the Morgan Wallin show that if you
watch our stories on Instagram, true story, it was worse
than what the video portrayed. We're gonna share that a
little bit later. But it's Monday. We're not above bribing
you to have a great day. Here are the receipts

(00:36):
on that. We got cold hard cash, one thousand dollars.
You can spend it on whatever you want. Maybe it's
concert tickets. If you don't want to spend them on
concert tickets, We're giving away multiple free shows today, Kip Moore,
Billy Carrington, seven thirty cap Fight and I believe I
got a double check with producer Hunter. But I was
told over the weekend that producer Hunter is bringing rising
star passes for his Riddle Challenge October eighth at Coyote.

(00:59):
Joe's gonna be an incredible show in the lineup. It's
something that we're really proud of. Tyler Nance, someone I've
been raving about for over a year, is gonna be
headlining his debut album, Midwest Memoir. Might be my favorite
album of twenty twenty six so far, which is saying
a lot because Ella Langley released music this year, and so.

Speaker 4 (01:15):
Did Luke Combs.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
But we got a great show. It's Monday. Thank you
for being here.

Speaker 4 (01:19):

Left before the playoffs, our boy.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
Denny Hamlin continues to lead the standings with an eighty
four point advantage over Tyler Redick, Ryan Blaney's in third time,
Gibbs fourth, and Producer Hunter's horse in the race, Carson
Josovar rounds.

Speaker 4 (01:47):

ninety six point nine that cat here.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
It's the talk back of the day on Graham in
the Morning's asking someone to quiet down when taking a
public phone call.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
On an airplane, it's ninety six point nine the cat. Now,
over the weekend, I was very fortunate enough to attend
the Morgan Wallin show in Philadelphia. But on my return flight,
the young lady who was seated next to me not
only took a call while she was on the flight.
It was a pack flight, by the way, she was
incredibly loud when she was on the phone. Now, Talkback
of the Day, Is it rude to take phone calls
in public? Yes, I believe that overwhelmingly. So we've answered

(02:29):
that question. But here's the caveat in that if the
person is being so loud that it's disturbing everyone around them,
is it rude to ask them, Hey, can you take
it down a notch? It's Talkback of the Day. Open
up the iHeartRadio app. Tap that red microphone icon in
the upper right hand corner. You can weigh in. We'll
put you on Graham in the mornings. Our phone lines
are open. Give us a call. We'd love to hear
what you have to say or how you would have

(02:51):
handled it. One eight hundred five seven zero nine six
nine zero. It's our talkback of the day.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
What's the Carolina's talking about today? Dhu were Tom three
on gram in the mornings.

Speaker 4 (03:03):
On ninety six point nine the cat?

Speaker 3 (03:05):
How about the Amazing Spider Man.

Speaker 4 (03:08):
That's why I was laughing. I'm so sorry.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
You're like, why is he laughing at something that's amazing
that happened over the weekend. Well, that's why it was
The Amazing Spider Man. Brand New Day pulled in an
incredible nine hundred and twenty seven million worldwide and three
hundred and fifty five million domestically, and it's opening weekend,
making it the second biggest movie opening in the history
of cinema and the biggest opening ever for a Spider

(03:30):
Man movie.

Speaker 4 (03:30):
We've been talking about it because we're gearing up for it.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
It's right around the corner. Summer break is winding down,
back to school is back. The countdown continues. Families across
North Carolina and South Carolina are being encouraged to double
check school schedules, bus routes, registration paperwork, and district requirements
before classes begin. Most school systems now have updated back
to school information posted on launch so you can check
it there. And football is back. NFL preseason kicks off

(03:55):
this week. I am pumped Thursday night, August sixth Annual
Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio.

Speaker 4 (04:01):
This year's matchup our very own.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
Carolina Panthers versus the Arizona Cardinals.

Speaker 4 (04:05):
Football's bag.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
Baby, it's ninety six point non in the cat got
great news. We're making a pivot. Producer, Hunter found some
extra tim le Grawl tickets, so we're gonna give those
bad boys away. We got Tim mcgrawl tickets to give away.
Seven thirty cap fight right here on ninety six point none.
The cat is Graham in the mornings.

Speaker 4 (04:22):
It's time for cat fights with Graham in the mornings.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
Tim mcgrawl tickets on the line. Producer, huh, I guess
you found some timble Grawl tickets.

Speaker 4 (04:31):
Oh yeah, I like that. I love that. I wll
some more of it. Come on. That's ry.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
I see what you did there. Ashley out of Huntersville,
Tiny out of Albamara. How you doing this morning? Do
you want to go to see Tim McGraw.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
Yeah, dude, all right, here we go.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
So spider Man Brand New Day just had one of
the biggest opening weekends in movie history. Crazy number that
is putting out. We're going back to the movies. Today's
trivia best of three, eating two right answers to win
all about the top ten box office openings.

Speaker 4 (04:57):
Ever. Oh I love this, Yes, let's go. I'm pretty so.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
This movie united nearly every Marvel hero for a final
showdown against Thandos the villain Ashley and We'll accept.

Speaker 4 (05:09):
A lot of these games. End game is correct. We
might have accepted Avengers. Yeah, that's right.

Speaker 5 (05:14):
She went the full route and she didn't need the
general name. She just went straight to it.

Speaker 4 (05:18):
Ashley is on it.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
This movie starred Ryan Reynolds and featured a very grumpy Wolverine.

Speaker 4 (05:23):
This was a tough one. This was a tough one,
all right. I'm gonna give it to you. It was
Deadpool and Wolverine. Great movie. Yeah, top ten box office opening.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
I love that This movie featured blueskinned aliens living on.

Speaker 4 (05:34):
Pandora Ashley Ashley for the win avatar.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
Avatar is correct. You're going to see Tim McGrath. Thank you,
tell you, we love you. We gotta get tin you back.
We love to We'll get you back. Thank you both
for playing today.

Speaker 4 (05:49):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
One eight hundred and five seven zero nine six nine zero.
Something crazy happened to me coming back from Philadelphia. Got
a chance to.

Speaker 4 (05:57):
Attend the Morgan Wallin.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (05:59):
I saw this on Stories by the way. Crazy.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
Yeah, So this is up on our Instagram stories gram
in the mornings if you want to see it. I
recorded it because I felt like it was so wild.
We've kind of established and already talked about taking phone
calls in public.

Speaker 4 (06:11):
Not the coolest thing. Yeah, no cool. But when it's
so loud, is it okay? Or how do you handle it?

Speaker 3 (06:17):
When you say, hey, I need you to down shift
a little bit, you're being too loud, the audible, the
sheer volume of your phone call is disturbing everyone around us.

Speaker 4 (06:25):
How would you handle it? The phone lines are open.

Speaker 3 (06:27):
One eight hundred five seven zero nine six nine zero
on leave us a talk back on the free iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 4 (06:33):
It's our talkback of the day.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
Ninety six minutes non softcat country taking phone calls in
public ninety six point non the cat.

Speaker 4 (06:41):
It wasn't just public.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
It was on a plane.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
You're on a plane, a very crowded plane. And again
I recorded myself, no one else, but I recorded it
because we've kind of established I know that we've talked
about this before. We did it in an elevator and
other spaces, So that's not really the caveat to this.
We're gonna peel that onion back a slice, yeah, and
say if the audible volume of the call is so

(07:05):
loud that it's a little bit disturbing to everyone around
you outside of the normal call, which if it's an emergency,
totally get It wasn't an emergency. I was on an
airplane flight. The young lady next to me was literally
yelling into her phone for like three to five minutes.
And that doesn't sound long. That's a long time. That's
a long time. It's a long time. So talk back
of the day. Is it okay to address it? Like,
is it okay to tap someone say hey, I need

(07:26):
you to just take it down a notch.

Speaker 5 (07:27):
I think it is, especially in your scenario you are
on a plane, this tube everybody's in this together. Usually
planes are very quiet, headphones on.

Speaker 4 (07:38):
You're not screaming into your phone. I think you were
in your right mind. If you did go over and just.

Speaker 5 (07:42):
Tap them and be like, hey, can you quiet down
just a little bit, I think it.

Speaker 4 (07:45):
Would have been okay, I know, but asking someone to
quiet down.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
Yeah, in any way, shape or form, it feels, it
feels rude.

Speaker 4 (07:51):
It does feel right now.

Speaker 3 (07:52):
I know that talking on your phone in a loud
voice is also rude. Yeah, but you never want to
meet a negative action with a negative reaction. Yeah, so
I just felt like torn. Yeah am I being I
don't know what the word for it is, but I
just did. I felt rude saying hey, I need you
to but I wanted you, I need you to just
take it down.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (08:11):
I think a lot of people around you it would
have been quietly like given you props if you would
have just tapped her on the shoulder, been like, hey,
can you quie down? Because everybody's feeling that. Yeah, but
not everybody's gonna be able to do it. Yeah, that's
a very tough situe.

Speaker 4 (08:23):
Hear how loud she was. I heard it through the video.

Speaker 3 (08:25):
You said, Yeah, it was crazy. I mean, I recorded myself.
Nobody else, but I recorded my reaction to this very
loud phone call. It's up on Instagram Graham in the mornings.
But give us a call. It's our talkback of the day.

Speaker 4 (08:35):
Is it okay?

Speaker 3 (08:36):
Or how do you handle that someone that's being obnoxiously
loud on a public phone call? One eight hundred and
five seven zero nine six nine zero, Or you can
always leave us a talkback on the free iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 4 (08:46):
It's our talkback of the day. Public phone calls. Consensus
is probably not the best thing. Yeah, not the best thing.

Speaker 3 (08:53):
We love Ashley so much, we got our back on
the line to weigh in on this talkback of the day, Ashley.

Speaker 4 (08:57):
When someone's on a public phone call, which I'm I'm.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
Gonna say it was rude, but maybe socially unaware if
they're being crazy loud, if the volume is so loud
that it's disturbing everyone around them, is it okay to
ask them to take it down? And not sure?

Speaker 4 (09:11):
How would you handle that? I probably wouldn't say anything
me neither.

Speaker 5 (09:16):
I check it out, Ashley, You're a lot nicer than me.
I think I would have tapped her on the shoulder
and been like, excuse me, can you bring it down
just the notch?

Speaker 4 (09:23):
But I guess y'all are a lot nicer than I am. Ashley,
you wouldn't say anything. Probably not see Ashley and I
are the same. Yeah, I'm not. I don't know.

Speaker 5 (09:31):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (09:31):
Maybe it's just man, would you tap someone on the shoulder?
Is it okay to ask someone to kind of down
shift a little bit in their volume when taking a
public phone call?

Speaker 4 (09:40):
It's our talk back of the day one eight hundred five.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
Seven zero nine six nine zero, or just leave us
a talkback on the free iHeartRadio app. It's ninety six
minutes non Stopcat Country Silva, North Carolina, John Morgan stand up.
It's ninety six point nine the cat toime for Producer
Hunter's riddle challenge Ford, I am heavy, but when backward
I am not?

Speaker 4 (10:00):
What am I? Ford?

Speaker 3 (10:01):
I am heavy, but backward I am not what am I?
Your answer coming up in three songs. If you challenge
Producer Hunter, there are tickets on the line. Keep your
phone handy, we're calling you right now. Producer Hunter's riddle
challenges Graham in the.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
Mornings on Graham in the mornings, we really make you think.
It's Producer Hunter's riddle challenge on ninety six point nine
the Cat.

Speaker 4 (10:25):
We got Amanda on the line. How are we doing
this morning, Amanda? We're good.

Speaker 5 (10:28):
How are you?

Speaker 4 (10:30):
We're doing pretty good. Our tickets on the line for this.
Tickets are on the line for this.

Speaker 5 (10:34):
It's a family four pack to see the Titanic Exhibition, which.

Speaker 4 (10:37):
Is really cool.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
So let's go, Amanda. I heard this is a family
affair this morning.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
It is. I've got my son Jak and my daughter
Ruthie with us.

Speaker 3 (10:45):
Let's go here. We are Ford. I am very heavy,
but when backward I am not. What am I so heavy?

Speaker 4 (10:52):
When it's forward, not when it's backward.

Speaker 3 (10:54):
Correct heavy, when it's forward backwards, it is not.

Speaker 5 (10:58):
Is it just the word heavy? Sometimes it's that simple.
Is it that simple?

Speaker 4 (11:01):
This week? That is incorrect? Amanda? Would you like to
make a guess?

Speaker 3 (11:07):
I don't know, okay, So I'm going to give you
a clue. Producer Hunter is on a very very very
good path to the right hands. Okay, okay, okay, but
I'm on the right path.

Speaker 4 (11:20):
It's not the word heavy. Okay.

Speaker 5 (11:24):
That was definitely a hint. If we can decide for that.
That was one hundred, Amanda. It's not the word heavy.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
It's not the word heavy and backwards.

Speaker 4 (11:34):
I am not heavy, but forwards. We'll just say I
weigh a ton? Is it forwards? It's forwards? The word
not is a ton a ton?

Speaker 3 (11:47):
A ton a ton is heavy forwards backwards, it is not.

Speaker 4 (11:53):
That's right, good day, Amanda wins. In my book, that's
a time established that.

Speaker 5 (12:00):
So Amanda, you're going to see the titan Nick. That
was a great riddle, ninety six minutes, NonStop. Cat gut
you congratulations are bad?

Speaker 4 (12:06):
Duh? Signed for some good news with Graham in the morning,
I mean onnty six point nine the.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
Cat great news, not good news, great news. Researchers have
found Indiana bats in North Carolina for the first time
in a decade, which is a really big deal if
you hate mosquitos. Not only are Indiana bats on the
endangered Wildlife species list, but these things love eating mosquitos,
and I cannot stand mosquitos. So one little bat can

(12:38):
eat hundreds, sometimes even thousands of bugs in a single night.
So if these bats are back, that is bad news
for mosquitos and pretty good news for any of us
trying to enjoy the last bit of summer as fall
rolls in.

Speaker 4 (12:49):
That's your great news.

Speaker 3 (12:51):
On ninety six point nine, the cat Mosquitos are bad
public phone calls? Is it ever okay just to ask someone, Hey,
can you downshift? Can you take it down? And not
your being a little too loud? We got one of
our favorite members out of cat Country, Charlotte. Out of Charlotte.
What's going on with Charlotte? Good morning to you.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
Hey, good morning to you.

Speaker 5 (13:07):
I would love to hear what you have to say
about this, Charlotte, because I have a lot of takes
on this.

Speaker 4 (13:11):
Yeah, what is Charlotte? What do you think?

Speaker 5 (13:13):
So?

Speaker 1 (13:13):
I had a client in my chair and she was
on a three way call on speakerphone, and it was
really loud. Everybody in the shop could hear it, and
you know, and I knew she needed to turn it off,
but you know, it's like, I don't want to hurt
my client's feeling and make her mad. So, but my
boss is a New Yorker, she has no problem speaking
her mind. Comes over there and says, either take it

(13:35):
off speakerphone or hang up. Everybody don't want to hear
this conversation. She was like, oh okay, and then she
took it off speakerphone. But it was so awkward because
you know, I knew she needed to stop, but I
didn't want to be the one to have to say it.

Speaker 4 (13:50):
Yeah, well one, I love your boss. Yeah that's awesome.

Speaker 3 (13:53):
Yeah, like producer Hunter said, like everybody else's chair for
someone else to do it.

Speaker 4 (13:58):
Your boss took one on the chin for that. I
do love that. Oh yeah, thanks so much for weighing in, Charlotte.
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (14:04):
You'll have a great day.

Speaker 4 (14:05):
You too. You can weigh in as well. Phone lines
are open one eight.

Speaker 3 (14:09):

any time you can leave us a talkback on the
free iHeartRadio app. Just tap that little red microphone icon
in the upper right hand corner. Is it okay or
is it rude to ask someone to maybe lower the
volume or just get off the phone altogether when they're
taking public phone calls.

so he was in town. He played a private show.

Speaker 4 (14:38):
Hit me up.

Speaker 3 (14:38):
We went bowling together, which I didn't know this. Tyler
Hubbard is a very good bowler.

Speaker 4 (14:43):
Go figure.

Speaker 3 (14:44):
Yeah, but your boy got one win. We played like
four games. He won all of them except for one.
But moral of the story. New music from Tyler Hubbard,
and he's a good bowler. Oh love to hear that.
