Channel nine three three, And before you take offence to
that comment, there's a good reason behind me myself.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
One are interested, and I think we've all had this
moment at least once. I'm not saying everybody, but I'd
say probably ninety percent of us are spoiled here in
San Diego and maybe a little brat. I'm bady about it.
And I discovered it this past week. So this past
week I had I was off on vacation. We weren't
going to do anything but midyear. I always just need
a vacation, right. But one of the things my boyfriend
always says is like, if we stay home, you will

the week will go buy and you'll say you didn't
even feel like you had a vacation because when you're
at home, you have to like do laundry, you have
to do stuff. So he's like, why don't we just
like do a few little staycations, right, So we're like, okay,
So last minute we were looking up hotels. We ended
up going up to the lake House in Lake House Resort.
As it's on the lake, you can like rent kayaks whatever.

Even though it's just inside mark, it's right there, like
I mean, the streets right there. You do feel like
you're away, right, and like these are the little gems
that we hear in San Diego have And so after that,
then we came home for like a day or two.
And then when we went down to Mission A Bay
and State at the Dana Mission Bay and we walked
around beout Mount Park on Saturday. We saw the people
playing volleyball that I hear about. We just we were

just we rented a bow Upontoon. But we just had
so many things here in San Diego that we don't
take advantage.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
And so you're mess a vacationer in our own citia.
I hardly had a vacation here in San Diego.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
Yes, I know we always say it, but how often
do we actually go to the beach? I mean, we
have some of the most beautiful beaches in the world here,
Like that video has gone viral of Tory Pines, like
driving down see the beach, like was the last time
we went to the Tory Pines.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
And the beach there.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
I've been in San Diego almost twenty years. I've been
to Tory Pines twice in twenty years. That means once
per decade that I've lived here in San Diego.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
Absolutely, I feel like even I mean, and now I
live more east, but even at the furthest it's like
thirty minutes away, not that far. We do we make
excuses not to go to the beach, not to go
to the water, not to enjoy all the things San Diego.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
Has to offer.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
I mean people vacation, they spend their they save up
their money to come to San Diego, and we can
be to go to the beach every now and then.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
I mean, that is crazy, right, you know.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
And as you say this, I have so many friends that,
oh must be nice live to Sandy. You go to
the beach all day long. Huh. I'm like, I don't
remember the last time I later on the beach. I've
lived here twenty years. It's gotta be years that I
actually took time to Lamey Sand a Pacific beach and.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
Just enjoy it.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
And you know, not even that, like we I was
riding my bikes, I mean, we could ride bikes, just
we could take I took my dogs on a walk there,
like you don't even have We don't even have to
make the effort.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
To go on the beach. Just go to the beach.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
I mean, I woke up on Sunday and I walked outside,
and I walked along the bay, and I was telling
my boyfriend that it just even like the the air,
the smell. Yeah, Like so you don't even have to
go set up like some people are like, oh, it's
such a hassle to get up and like get a
spot on the beach.

Speaker 3 (02:44):
I'm not even saying you have to do all that.
Just get down to the beach.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
And this is my advice because I was out every
day and I wanted to see, like, hey, what time.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
Because you hear all these horror stories like oh, you're
not gonna find parking.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
You're not gonna I mean, San Diego's are late people,
because up until like noon, there was still plenty of parking.
So if you get up on a Saturday or Sunday
morning by like eleven am, you will get a parking
at Mission Beach, at Pacific Beach. Go enjoy what everybody
around the world comes here to experience.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
You had a week off, you did a bunch of things.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
If you had to choose one favorite thing, you got
somebody listening right now and say I'm going to San Diego.
I'm gonna be there for just a couple of hours.
There's only one thing I can do while in San Diego.
What's that one thing you recommend for locals?

Speaker 3 (03:23):
This is for locals.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Okay, look, is there anybody down What was your favorite
with locals? Right?

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Because we do, like I get a little like a
snobby to the tourists too. Mission Beach is a little
a little proud if you go to south Mission Beach. Okay,
that's where you hear all the volleyball players. There's a
park down there. We found parking down there and it's
less busy. It's it's really beautiful and you can walk
and eat and hang out down there.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
You can do a barbecue down there too. Yes, you
did it, and it's so funny, said, because I forgot
we had that. You go all the way down you're
soelfth Mission Beach. You have a whole area to yourself.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
Everyone goes Aboutmont Park, which is a tourist and then
you go to peebe with but go south a little.

Speaker 3 (03:59):
Bit and there there you go, oh, I'm so glad
you got to do that.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
And it's so funny. We spend people stress like it's
so expensive go on vacation when you live in San Diego.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
We don't need to.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
You're not gonna worry about that flight or going anywhere.
You can do it all right here.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
And there were so many families like set up even
like around Fiesta Island, like there's so many different parks.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
Just go, go, go, set up, do.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
A bonfire, like go just hang out outside, Like what
is wrong with us?

Speaker 3 (04:21):
Why are we not doing this every weekend?
