Speaker 1 (00:01):
Key one hundred with Dave and Jin. So last night
we went to the Barbersville City Council meeting.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Oh the whole family's.

Speaker 1 (00:11):
Yeah, okay, well it was you know, Mom obviously is
on council. And then Dad came and picked me up,
and Jason, Emily came, and Charlie came. And so this
was because Jerry Johnson, who is a staple in Barbersville,
he was being recognized for his services to the community.

(00:32):
So they named March third Jerry Johnson Day. That's cool, yes,
And they talked about his work over the last sixty
years in Barbersville. He's obviously I obviously met him when
he worked on the fire department with my mom. My
mom worked with him for I don't know, thirteen some years,

(00:53):
and I grew up, you know, going to the fire
department every day after elementary and middle school. Right, So
so we you know, celebrated that and his years of
service on the on the fire department. But also I
did not know this, from nineteen sixty four to nineteen
seventy two.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
He was a police officer in Barbersville.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
My dad even tells me that was the first cop
that ever stopped me. I was like, ooh, and he didn't.
He wasn't giving him.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
He didn't give him a warning, did He just said, well,
I mean, I guess a verbal warning.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
He was like sure, get out here, you know, but
didn't give a ticket, nothing like that.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
And then while they were, you know, talking about him
last night, Rick Keaton, who's on the council as well,
he was like, oh, yeah, I remember doing some things
when I was a youngin and you know, Jerry might
have picked me up and took me home to my parents,
which was a nicer thing to do than a resting
Like yeah, yeah, he did mention jumping into the Barbersville

(01:46):
pool after it was closed. Now I never got to
jump into the pool, but I did get to well,
I mean I guess I did get into the pool,
but it wasn't there was no water. It was like
on an off season that I already drained it for
the season. And I do remember climbing the fence.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
And that was super fun. It was like a staple
for everyone in Barberswell when there was a pool there.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Sounds like you need Jerry on board in Barbersville twenty
four to seven to keep the sea family under control.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
That was the Keaton family. Okay, that one does Keaton
jumping into the pool. It just reminded me of the
time I did it.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Okay, but it was a great thing. It was wonderful
celebrating Jerry Johnson. His wife Phyllis was there and his
daughter was out as well, so so we got a
picture of him. And it's so funny because Heath couldn't
be there. He was putting Leo down and Heath was like,
I am sure that this man because he's only met
Jerry Johnson up like a handful of times in his life.
He's like, I'm sure this man is going to be

(02:40):
so excited that you came. And as soon as I
see him, he was like, what.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
Are you doing here? I was like, oh, I came
here to support you. She was like, to support me.
He was shocked and he was so excited to see us.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
So yeah, it was a very good council meeting in Bubersville,
