Speaker 1 (00:00):
Happy Friday to you. Happy spring, the first official day
of spring. It is Sprung and I'm Ellen k.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Hi, I'm Ryan Man. So good morning.

Speaker 1 (00:11):
I'm producer Mike Grodmos. We're the L and K Morning Show.
Welcome and thank you for being here. We know that
there's some challenging traffic, the ten, the two ten, everywhere
you go. But breathe, that's what we always say to
each other. Breathe. It's spring. It's Friday. So yesterday I
did the iHeartRadio Music Awards voice over, and there are

(00:31):
some surprises in this packet. Oh yeah, but it is
coming up next Thursday, and it's gonna be a lot,
a lot, a lot of fun.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
Is this one of those things just for everyone, you know,
tuning in so you pre record things, but you're also
there live in case you need to go like.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
Yes, yeah, we just pre record packages.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
Sure, So it's a mix of both.

Speaker 4 (00:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Then there's some icon things happening, so then you have
to like, you know, it's like the big emotional like
this guy was seven years old when he yeah, blah
blah blah blah. That's so fun. But I was driving
back home on the one oh one south from Westlake
Village where I did it, and there wasn't much traffic.
It was late afternoon, so I stopped at the grocery

(01:12):
store and then I popped over to CBS CBS and
I saw I saw this older man struggling to read
the cards. Because you know, I love cards. I always
go to the card session. It's a feel good Friday.
So he couldn't really read the cards. And this this
other guy in like a work uniform came up and
noticed him and started reading the cards to him. I

(01:34):
mean he must have read because I love looking at cards.
It's a feel good. That's my feel good tip. Go
read greeting cards you're inside, it's cool, and then it'll
make you smile. So this guy is reading these cards
for this elderly man, and he finally he said, after
about ten cards, he said, oh I like that one.

(01:56):
My wife's gonna love that one. Oh my gosh. I
literally my eyes teared up. I thought, what a what
a beautiful moment. You know that we witness, you know,
we're on the road and we're all hot, and we're like, oh,
we're rushing around, and then you just go to CBS
in Studio City and you see this beautiful moment. It's

(02:17):
like they always say, the beautiful moments are there if
you just look for them.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
Yes, and you looked.

Speaker 5 (02:22):
I was shopping for a wedding card last week and
I was in the aisle with an older lady and
I was in the wedding section, and I noticed she
was in the little kid section. And the amount of
time and care that she was putting into choosing one card. Yeah,
she was still there when I left, and I had
found a pretty card, and I was just hoping that

(02:42):
whoever that card was for realizes how special that this
lady cares so much to spend just that much time
on picking the right card for them.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
I'm telling you, it's a feel good. You need to
go to the card section.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
I do have one thing for guys though, regarding cards.
If you are you know you need a card quickly
and you don't know what message to write, just take
a picture of the inside of some other cards and
then use those.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
As Ryan.

Speaker 6 (03:08):
Who wrote this, thank God, it's time, Thank God.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
It's time. And today we have, for the first time
ever on the LNK Morning Show, a dumpster diver who's
gone viral. The girl who took the red carpet from
the Oscars and carpeted her apartment is coming on this show.
She is a feel good and it's your feel good Friday.
Share your feel goods with us. We're also going Inside

(03:44):
Entertainment coming up, Hail Mary. One hundred million dollars. Why
did it star? Ryan Gosling walk out of an interview?
I'll tell you name.

Speaker 7 (03:54):
It's the LNK Morning Show.

Speaker 8 (03:55):
You guys, really do you make my morning? I love
listening to you guys every morning. Can ex thank you
for all your friend mornings on My Ride.

Speaker 7 (04:03):
To work Host one O three point five Host one
O three point five. Inside Entertainment with Lank all Right.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
ABC could lose millions of dollars for acting the Bachelorette.
The season with Taylor Frankie Paul had been scheduled to
debut the Sunday. Disney executive saw the video of her
throwing chairs at her ex so now it is off
the table. They spent a long time and a lot
of money filming it, so it could be a forty
million dollar loss, along with sponsors who were also integrated
and advertising during that show and that series. Tina Fey

(04:33):
hosts the premiere episode of NL Saturday Night Live UK.
The spinoff series will then stream on Peacock this Sunday.
Something to watch since The Bachelorette is no longer an
option and Netflix servers will be tested worldwide on Saturday
when streaming the BTS Comeback Concert live, Netflix is like, okay,
we can do this.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
Good luck.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
This K pop boy man went on hiatus three years
ago to fulfill mandatory military service. The concert from South
Korea will start. We'll start here in the US at
four a m. Pacific time. But this is gonna be
this is going to really test the stream.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
If Mike Tyson's Comeback Fight broke Netflix, BTS, oh yeah,
shatter it.

Speaker 5 (05:14):
And it's gonna be Ellen's sister, Yeah, my sister and
all of the fan clubs all right.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
PopMart, the creators of the La Boo Boo and Sony
Entertainment have teamed up together and Annul Say are developing
a film featuring the cute, plushy La Boo Boo's making
waves last summer with everyone from Rihanna to David Beckham
scene with La Boo Boos. The film is set to
be a live action and CGI hybrid, So that's gonna
be fun. The announcement did not say when the film
will be released, but the movie is in early development. Okay,

(05:43):
what about this Hail Mary out today? It will orbit
to around one hundred million dollars, so this is gonna
be so crazy good. You know. Ryan Gosling is the star,
and if you go to the hashtag project Hill Mary,
you'll see all the Gosling interviews. But he walked out

(06:04):
of the KTLA interview with Scott Manz. Scott Mantz is
the movie guy, Scott movie Mans and Gosling sits down
and he's like, okay, just tell me what you thought
of the movie, and Mance was all serious and he
was like, okay, are you sure because you saw my
Instagram post and Gosling said yeah, tell me, and Scott
Manz said masterpiece. And then Goslin got up and walked

(06:27):
out and took his mic off and said, I'm not
going to cry on camera anyway. Ninety five percent certified
Fresh from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. Tom Cruise is being
eyed for a shock role in Miami Vice the reboots,
so that might be happening. And Taylor Swift may be
named today when the Country Music Hall of Fame announces
the twenty twenty six inductees. All right, Tom Brady, we've

(06:49):
got him for you coming up with fantasy football. It's
the fanatics flag football, not fantasy, but fanatics. Put this
on a bimo tomorrow. We got your four packs coming up.
But you know, Tom Brady thinks that WWE and all
the wrestlers, Ryan, that they're cute.

Speaker 3 (07:05):
He doesn't think that. Actually, you know why he's setting
it up. He's going to wrestle his first matches in
ring debut and I will be there next month at
a Llegiance Stadium in Vegas. He will face Logan Paul
And this is all just like this is a whole bit.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
Listen.

Speaker 9 (07:18):
No, they all their stuff is so cute and scripted,
and they know what's going on in the football game.

Speaker 5 (07:22):
You don't know, so they wouldn't even get near me.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
Plus, if I had a good offensive line, they'd punch
those guys right in the throat and they'd be probably crying.

Speaker 8 (07:29):
And you know there's no.

Speaker 6 (07:31):
Fake bs we do in American football.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
So for those guys would be a whole different story
for him. I mean, he's not wrong, Ryan, it's you know,
football is live and in the moment and you don't
know the strategy is coming at you and you've got
to think on your feet. You've got to you know,
you've got to bring the power. Sure for WWE, what
go ahead? It's choreographed, scripted.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
It's scripted, but that doesn't mean you're not an athlete.
And Brady's gonna find out real fast.

Speaker 7 (07:55):
It's the L and K Morning Show.

Speaker 4 (07:57):
I love it.

Speaker 10 (07:58):

Speaker 1 (08:17):
I've been trying to lead well and you did it.
You got through. You never gave up, and there's something
to be said about that.

Speaker 11 (08:23):

great one.

Speaker 2 (09:03):

get a happiness hack from the one and only ride manner.

Speaker 2 (09:24):
And that's it, Ellen, you just said it today.

Speaker 3 (09:26):
International Happiness Day marked every year here on March twentieth.

Speaker 2 (09:30):
So I didn't know this.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
The United Nations actually recognized happiness and well being as
universal human rights and goals.

Speaker 1 (09:36):
That is very cool.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
So what started as this sort of global observance just
to you know.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
Say, hey, you should be happy.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
It's it's now become a reminder to slow down, to
focus on the things that genuinely make life feel better,
not the thought of the things, but the things, the
real things in your daily life, whether it's rest, connection, gratitude,
anything to bring you peace. So let's let's let's talk
about what would make us happy today, and we have
to do these things. Okay, it's not just talking about
it like today's the day. If you're gonna do one

(10:04):
thing to make yourself happy, what is it?

Speaker 1 (10:06):
Walk barefoot in the grass.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
Okay, who's gonna do that with you? Who's coming?

Speaker 1 (10:09):
I don't know. I haven't really thought.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
I thought Calvin was visiting.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
Well, Calvin's coming. Calvin won't be here when this is
still daylights? Okay, Okay, I'm gonna walk barefoot in the grass.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
Okay, good.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
And I'm gonna hug a big time when that's happy,
that's happen.

Speaker 5 (10:24):
I'm gonna pick up my four year old from school
and take them to Chuck E Cheese.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
Yeah, okay good. Producer Mike Romos.

Speaker 10 (10:30):
I'm going on a hike today. If it gets too hot,
I just go swimming. Okay, okay, both good.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
I'm gonna take a nap all right there. No, I'm
gonna add to that.

Speaker 3 (10:38):

about this time spent in nature is linked to healthier

So if you got your lunch, take it outside today. Okay.
So his name is Mohammed Arshad and he broke his

Finland the happiest country in the world for the ninth
year in a row. They have an unfortunate name for
the most popular bread in their country, and we can't
say it on the radio, but if you get a
chance to google it today, just look up bread in
Finland and you will let's see what we're talking about. Yeah, okay,

(13:30):
So bring your feel goods to us, because when you
share it on the air, it makes others feel good.
So you're spreading your feel goods. It's eight hundred ninety

that talk back button with your feel good Friday. Just
go to the iHeart app. You're streaming us and there's
a microphone there. You just tap that mic in. You're
in all right, So we binge everything and watch everything

(13:53):
so you don't have to. And there's so much out there,
so many streamers. We you know, we know that The
Bachelorette is not happening on Sunday, so that is shelved
because of some domestic incidences with Frankie, Taylor Paul. And
by the way, three Taylor Frankie Paul. She has three
first names of men.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
Yeah, is her name right?

Speaker 1 (14:18):
I thought that that was kind of interesting. Very anyway,
I'm going to take you to Netflix and we're going
to watch Virgin River. Season seven is on. This is
the longest running live action scripted show on Netflix. This
is very emotional for me, you guys, because two years

(14:38):
ago my dad died and I haven't been able to
even look at the trailers because that was our show.
It was Virgin River on Netflix. We would get on
the phone for hours and geek out about it. We
would laugh about it. We would talk about melon Jack
for hours, I mean just hours. We would watch it together,

(15:00):
each other notes and emails about it. So when he
passed suddenly, I couldn't even look at it. I would
tell you, Dar all the time, like, I can't watch
Virgin River and if I linked it, and it's so good,
it's season seven. They've already knew it for season eight.
I didn't think i'd get this emotional about even yeah,

(15:20):
talking about it, but if you really want a feel
good show with drama and a lot of love, but
also there's a lot of backstabbing. And my dad used
to always say, Daddy Dale would say, He's like, I
don't even know why I like this show. I'm not
supposed to.

Speaker 5 (15:37):
Like it because he bonded with you.

Speaker 1 (15:41):
That And also it's for everybody, it really is. I mean,
I think it just appeals to a lot of different
different people. So I'm going Netflix Virgin River season seven, Darlene,
what do you got?

Speaker 7 (15:55):
All Right?

Speaker 5 (15:55):
I'm on Amazon Prime. Let's see Nicole Kidman did it again?
If you like true crime mixed with ASMR. The way
they shot this show Scarpetta, it's called Scarpetta. She's a
for a forensic pathologist and she goes and sees the
crime scene and she's the doctor who examines like the.

Speaker 1 (16:16):
Body and stuff.

Speaker 5 (16:17):
But the ASMR, you guys, has captivated me. With episode one,
you hear the coffee pouring the door opening, the alarms
going off. That alone was like, I haven't seen or
heard anything like this.

Speaker 1 (16:30):
It's really really good. Check it out Amazon Prime. Awesome.

Speaker 10 (16:34):
I'm going over to the movies, you guys. Project Hail
Mary is about a middle school teacher. He wakes up
alone in space with no memory and he's on the
mission to save Earth. Then he discovers he's really not
alone up there, so he makes a friend and that's
all I can say. Ryan Goslin, of course stars in this,
and it just looks amazing. Like you said, Ellen, the
trailer is so it's like eye candy, and not just

(16:55):
because Goslin, you know, it just like it takes you
on a journey.

Speaker 2 (16:59):
So I'm super We're excited.

Speaker 1 (17:00):
Project hill Mary out today at the movies. What do
you got right?

Speaker 2 (17:03):
We're gonna and where we started. We'll go back to Netflix.

Speaker 3 (17:07):
Kay play in this because it is the rise of
the Red Hot Chili Peppers on Netflix, so it's intimate
sit down interviews with Flee, Anthony Ketis, Chad Smith, among
other well known musicians who inspired the Chili Peppers and
then who've been inspired by the band. It talks about
their early their first guitarist Hello, who passed at twenty
six and how there would be no Chili Peppers without him.

Speaker 2 (17:27):
So, if you love music and you love music docs
or just docs.

Speaker 3 (17:29):
In general, it's the rise of the redout Chili Peppers
on Netflix.

Speaker 1 (17:33):

emergency at the age of eighty six. Chuck Norris, What
a life, What a guy.

Speaker 2 (18:29):
What an icon a legend.

Speaker 3 (18:31):
He was like the epitome of manliness in the eighties,
you know, I mean even as a kid like that's
why I would do like roundhouse kicks on my brother
for no just because of Walker Texas raising.

(22:09):
you in the dating world on and off? Uh?

Speaker 13 (22:13):
Huh?

Speaker 11 (22:13):
I seem to stay in there because it's ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (22:15):
Oh really, what are you finding out there? There's a
lot of married men who.

Speaker 11 (22:23):
Think they're single out there.

Speaker 4 (22:26):
What.

Speaker 1 (22:28):
Yeah, So now I've gotten to the point where I say,
is there anyone on those universe that's under the impression
they're in a relationship with you of any time? Oh,
that's a great question to ask.

Speaker 11 (22:48):
It's a little hard to lie around that one.

Speaker 1 (22:50):
Yeah, that's a good question. Okay, so you say that
half of all adults say it's harder after breakup. That's dating,
And you say dating is hard period. But that's your guess,
and you are right. You're going to Disneyland. You got
a four pack?

Speaker 4 (23:04):
Yay, thank you so much, thank you.

Speaker 1 (23:07):
Half of adults say this is harder after a breakup,
that's Denise. She said dating. She's been just been doing it,
and she's she's finding a lot of non truths. I
have a lot of liars out there. Did she She said,
men who are married are out there trying to date.

Speaker 2 (23:29):
And that's the majority of what she's found so.

Speaker 1 (23:31):
Over the last eight years. My god, Denise investigator Denise

Speaker 1 (25:16):
Top stories Top of the hour. Good morning, I'm ellen K.
Thanks for having us on. And you're ride at work
wherever you are? School? Maybe? But what about this? Everyone
needs to know this. Even a single smartphone notification can
briefly disrupt your thinking. One smartphone notification disrupts a person's
concentration for seven whole seconds. The study also found that

(25:38):
how often you get a check or notifications matters more
than total screen time, suggesting that frequent interruptions, not just
hours spent on a device, are a key driver of
attention deficit problems. And what about this? Do you have
any rock teas sitting around your Top three rock band
logos of all time ranked number three, AC DC. Maybe

(25:58):
you have one of those T shirts in your drawer.
Pink Floyd is number two and number one. You know
the tongue they're rolling stones the number one rock band
logo of all time ranked. And we are not alone,
and the government knows it. The federal government has officially
registered the domain names of alien dot gov and aliens
dot gov, sparking a new wave of speculation. These aren't

(26:21):
live just yet. The Pentagon has confirmed they're already working
to obey with the order and show their cards. UFO
enthusiasts are skeptics alike are on hi alert, waiting for
what could be the most anticipated digital document drop in history.
It's also Alien Abduction Day today. Celebrate on the first
day Spring every year. We don't know how the state
was chosen or when it started being celebrated, but we

(26:43):
know there's a huge festival in Toronto, Canada. It's been
around for about twenty years. All right, what about this
put in the fire Friday, in your Friday. It's our
heat wave. It keeps on cooking more triple digits for
you today, high nineties, if not all the way up
to one hundred now. Hambra, Azusa as well. Anna I'm
ninety five and it's sixty five in Burbank kost Oh,

(27:06):
Los Angeles. It's Coast one oh three point five coming up.
We're going to beach life when you're way in here.

had a dumpster diver on the L and K Morning Show.
She's a famous dumpster diver. Her name's page Thalia and
maybe you've seen the news reports, but she's the one
who who did something really cool with the Oscars red carpet.
So Paige has got to feel good for us. She'll
be on the show. But we've got another one in

(27:45):
a car right now.

Speaker 13 (27:48):
I'm good.

And when you feel good, it spreads the feel good.
Let's go now to Sonia. Sonia is mommy Jasmine, who
was nine. You have to feel good.

Speaker 11 (28:12):
For us, yes, yeah, on this day nine years ago,
my baby girl made me a mama.

Speaker 1 (28:22):
Way to go. Jasmine.

Speaker 11 (28:25):
So her name is Jasmine, and that day in face.
Leading up to it, I kept smelling the jasmine that
we had right by our door, and I just was
so in love with the smell that the name was
like super confirmed at that time. I'm like, that's gonna
be her name, Jasmine, and she was born on the
first day of spring.

Speaker 1 (28:46):
Beautiful, How beautiful, Jasmine? You are very special. That is
one of my favorite sense as well. We have some
growing outside of our front door and sometimes I just
stand there so I can just smell the jasmine. Yeah,
I love that scent. Oh, that is such a great
birth story.

Speaker 3 (29:04):
So Jasmine, we know that that your mom would say
you're her favorite thing. But what's your favorite thing about
your mom?

Speaker 11 (29:13):
I just really love it.

Speaker 1 (29:57):
What are you doing right now, Jim, I'm at work.

Speaker 7 (30:00):
What do you do?

Speaker 8 (30:01):
I work for a hospital.

Speaker 1 (30:03):
Oh okay, do you want to say which one? Uh?

Speaker 13 (30:06):
Not really?

Speaker 2 (30:07):
No, okay, you're just thinking about the beach.

Speaker 3 (30:10):
I was on the beach last weekend with my family
and we were eating in and out at sunset and Ellen,
you've always said something and I noticed it when we
got back in the car. It's a good day when
they're sand in the car.

Speaker 1 (30:22):
Yes, it's a good day. It means you have are
you're living a good life. Whenever we have sand in
the car, I never I never let the car wash
vacuum it.

Speaker 2 (30:32):
No, just sleep it.

Speaker 1 (30:33):
I'm saying, I want that sand in the car. And
then it makes me think of that fun day at
the beach, and you're going to be there Beach Life.

happy heavenly birthday to you, mister Rogers. He would have
been ninety eight today. You know he would always say

(31:30):
what he's doing because he got a letter from a
blind girl who liked his show, and so he would say,
now I'm going to feed the fish.

Speaker 2 (31:39):
That's why he would always marry her.

Speaker 1 (31:43):
For her wow. And he'd love to share this advice
he got from his mom.

Speaker 14 (31:48):
You'll always find somebody who's trying to help. So even
today when I read the newspaper and see the news
on television, I look for the people who were trying
to help.

Speaker 1 (32:00):
That's great advice from your mom. Lady Gaga loves him
so much. She loves mister Rogers because she loves songs
that connect.

I love you guys so much.

Speaker 7 (33:16):
Past one o three point five.

Speaker 1 (33:17):
There's beauty everywhere if you know where to look for it,
so always being on an alert. I was at the
CBS yesterday and I saw a beautiful moment. There was
an elderly gentleman looking for a card, and he was
having a hard time reading birthday cards. So there was
another person there just randomly looking at cards. This guy

(33:39):
he was in a like a paint covered jumpsuit, and
he said, let me help you, and he read these
cards out loud to this elderly gentleman and he said
that one after like ten cards, and it was for
his wife, a beautiful birthday card. It just it was
so beautiful to be older. I was kind of like
just eavesdropping. Now we go to our favorite dumpster diver. Ever,

(34:03):
her name is Page, Thalia Page. Thank you for coming
on with us, and congrats on your beautiful new carpet
in your apartment. Tell us the origin story of your carpet.

Speaker 4 (34:16):
Yeah, so I just moved back to LA about three
weeks ago. So I'm trying to furnish a new apartment
and rugs are very expensive, so I genuinely needed a
rug for that area. I was walking my dogs where they.

Speaker 8 (34:29):
Were setting up the red carpet the other day, just
a few days before the oscars, and realized there was
a lot of carpet there and that probably wasn't going
to be used after the day. I was thinking I
would get there and there.

Speaker 4 (34:39):
Would be a crew member maybe cutting it apart, and
I could just ask them, but it was gone by
the time I got to the Dolby. So I just
went about a block away and I found a dumpster
that just had rolls so high you could see them
from the street, and I just asked the first person
I made eye contact with if I could take some.

Speaker 1 (34:54):
Oh, that's so good. So then you get it home.
Did you I hear that there was still glittering feather
I saw your video and what else did you find
in that?

Speaker 4 (35:04):
Yeah, there was sequins, some feathers from some dresses.

Speaker 8 (35:07):
There's a fake plant.

Speaker 1 (35:10):
It's crazy, and now you've gone viral around the world.
It's so genius too, because you know, one's man's trash
is another man's treasure, and this is your true magic carpet.

Speaker 4 (35:22):
Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 8 (35:23):
I can't wait to get it finished.

Speaker 4 (35:24):
So it looks like an actual rug too. Well.

Speaker 1 (35:27):
I love what your mom said to you. I saw
your interview on the news about how your mom was like,
what there are news crews in your apartment? How?

Speaker 4 (35:35):
Yeah she was very confused.

Speaker 1 (35:37):
Yeah, she's like, because they saw me a TikTok. Mom,
That's how it happens.

Speaker 8 (35:43):
I know I'm getting double the rugs too.

Speaker 4 (35:45):
Ruggable reached out to me and they're sending me a
rug from my bedroom too.

Speaker 1 (35:48):
So pages feel Good Friday. You are a feel good
I love what you did and I love that you
that you call to be on our show. We're so
happy for you and your and your your new found fame,
your magic carpet.

in the morning for BTS The Comeback Live. It's the
live concert from South Korea. The K pop boy band
will perform from Soul's historic guang Huan Square, and authorities
are prepared for a quarter million people to crowd the
public plaza for BTS. It's been three years since they

(37:04):
were last together because they had their mandatory military service,
and now they are back. My sister Christine wanted to
know if I wanted to do like a little zoom
date with her, and I said, well, you know what, Chris,
let you have this one. Yeah. Well you know it's
gonna happen.

Speaker 5 (37:21):
You're gonna wake up biologically or long wake up, and
you're probably gonna watch it with her.

Speaker 1 (37:26):
That's what happens on our days off. Yeah, that's so true.
I never showed the quote and a kiss and since
it is the first day of spring, Happy first day
of spring, let's go to a sitting bull quote. He said, behold,
my friends, the spring has come. The earth has gladly
received the embraces of the sun, and we shall soon
see the results of their love. Kiss on three, kiss

(37:47):
on me went to three. Never made it as a
wise ma'am. I couldn't cut it as a pull man stead.

Speaker 11 (37:55):
I don't live like.

you remind me.
