special announcement and then the contestants performed rock and Roll
Hall of Famer songs on Idol. But this year's Rock
and Roll Hall of Fame includes Bill Collins, Oasis Great,

(03:32):
the Wu Tang Clan, Iron Maiden. Meanwhile, Mariah Carey was
denied for a third time.

Speaker 2 (03:38):

Speaker 6 (04:34):
Three point five The ellen k Morning Show follow ad
official ellen K post one of three point five Inside
Entertainment with ellen.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
K all Right. Two tall stars making out Kendall Jenner
and Euphoria after Jacob Alordi We're all over each other
at a Coachella after party. Several anonymous tips arrived to
the site du mois claiming this makeout session wasn't a
low key moment when I and it says they're so
equally hot, honestly good for them. If Kendall Jenners hook

(05:05):
up with Jacob Elordi is more than a fling, it
would mean that the Jenner sisters each have an Oscar
nomine boyfriend. Kylie and Timothay shall and may have been
together four years. Jacob Elordi earned his first nomination this
year for Frankenstein So Good. They just all seem very happy,
and it's never too early to start talking about Christmas
movies and we've got their first one. Nick Jonas stars

(05:27):
He's been cast in an untitled Netflix holiday rom com.
He's set to play a bachelor that inherits a cousin's
infant child, and then a romance blossoms over the holidays
when the child's godmother appears to claim custody. Okay, yes,
I can't wait for that.

Speaker 7 (05:42):
Hallmarks in our building now too, so we got to,
I don't know, go up to the six tunnel through
the events to see what they're working on.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
I love it. And Billie Eilish released a new trailer
for a hit Me Hard and Soft. It is The
Tour Live in three D. The film was originally due
last month, but it was pushed to a May eighth
release because As Cameron James Cameron said that they were
refining the cut, dialing in cool new three D tech.
Leave it to James Cameron to delay a project because
it's not perfect. Hit Me Hard and Soft The Tour

(06:11):
Live in three D was filmed over four nights in Manchester, England.
You can watch the trailer on YouTube now and then
we'll get the whole thing. Because of James Cameron delayed
to May eighth, and one of the child Munchkins from
the Wizard of Oz passed away Sunday at ninety four
years old. There's only one person left who appeared on
screen and she was also a child munchkin. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:30):
I met three of them one time.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
They were all together.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
Yeah, I have a picture with three of the munchkins.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
Oh was it at a convention.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
It was a radio station.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
They came in dressed and everything. Oh, I love that.
You guys, listen to this. Jack Black's mom, Judith loved Cohen,
was a pioneering aerospace engineer who played a vital role
in the safe return of the Apollo thirteen crew. When
an oxygen tank exploded on Apollo thirteen and nineteen seventy,
the main navigation computer had to be shut down. Guess

(06:57):
who saved all the astronauts' lives Jack Black's mom. Shoot it. Yeah,
her system was instrumental in performing the critical engine burns
and course corrections that allowed the astronauts to return safely.
What a hero. And not only are a Coachella and
stagecoach a really good time, they're super great for the
local economy. This according to a new report. Between the

(07:17):
three consecutive weekends, state official say the fests are an
economic engine, bringing in seven hundred million dollars. So if
you look at Coachella only weekend two coming up. By
the way, it brings in a quarter million people and
creates ten thousand temporary jobs. How cool is that?

Speaker 8 (07:34):
All right?

Speaker 1 (07:34):
I love this well, it's also a happy sad moment,
but we're feel good station and Sidcroft created HR puffin Stuff.
You know. That was one of our favorite shows. I
even showed all of them to Calvin when he was
a kid. It's generational, you can pass it down and
it was always something that we would have on. It's
a cult classic show.

Speaker 7 (07:56):
I remember though. Can I just say I kind of
rocked a world when I told you what it was
really about. Yeah, HR puff and stuff. HR stands for
hand rolled by the way, puffing stuff. Really Yeah, if
talking mushrooms, you guys, what do you think it's about.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
It's about weed. Know that I do believe maybe the
weed led to Sid and Marty Croft having long lives.

Speaker 7 (08:16):
At the end of that, we're gonna play this little
clip of the song. He says he can't do a
little because he can't do enough. Do you think he's
talking about a jar popping step?

Speaker 2 (08:25):
When things get up.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
Popping stuff can't don't?

Speaker 2 (08:32):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (08:33):

Speaker 2 (11:07):
Ellen.

Speaker 7 (11:08):
So, according to neuroscience, if you repeat these three phrases
each morning, our brains start to rewire themselves. They become
more positive, more confident, more grateful, the three phrases. I
love the first one so much. If you say this
to yourself when you wake up, when you're in the shower,
when you're getting dressed, driving, whatever it is, just say
to yourself, show me how good today gets?

Speaker 11 (11:28):
Oh?

Speaker 6 (11:28):
I like it?

Speaker 5 (11:29):
That cool?

Speaker 7 (11:29):
Yeah, it sort of awakens our brains ras to notice
more opportunities.

Speaker 1 (11:36):
What's rash?

Speaker 2 (11:37):
I'm glad you.

Speaker 7 (11:38):
Asked the reticular activating system. So what that does? It
filters out unnecessary information. It just finds the good stuff
in life. It's like our brain's built in editor.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
So that's that. Show me how good today gets? Okay?

Speaker 7 (11:50):
Number two, I can handle anything that comes my way today.
It builds self efficacy and reduces threat responses to your brain.
I can handle anything that comes my way today. And
number three it's very simple. I'm grateful for dot dot
dot film. The wild gratitude increases dopamine, shifting our nervous
system into a more regulated, positive state. So be grateful,

(12:12):
be ready, be happy.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
It is Coast one of three point five top stories
Top of the Hour. Good morning, I'm Melan Kay's we
sneak up on the seven o'clock hour. Talk about a
bad road hazard. A group of one hundred runaway goats
making a break for it in Calabasas. They were brought
into Grayze on some dried out vegetation. You know, it
helped her just reduce the risk of wildfires. One of
these troublemaker goats noticed a gap in the fence and

(13:43):
staye a mutiny. He went for it. The rest followed. Thankfully,
officials got them all corraled after a few hours and
they're back to eating dead plants. Today you will see
them on the side of the road way to go
goats And just a little reminder, tax days tomorrow unless
you find her file and extension clock his ticken to
submit the good news. According to IRS data, the average
refund is up eleven percent from last year, roughly thirty

(14:06):
five hundred dollars coming back. Also, if you still haven't
sent them in, you're not alone. Thirty three percent of
all Americans wait until literally the last day. And the
Librea tar Pits Museum is going to close down for
two full years to get a little sprucing up, just
as the Getty is doing for a year. Anyway, the
tar Pits Museum is closing, but the tar Pits will
remain open and it's a bunch of modernization ahead of

(14:28):
the Summer Games in twenty eight Dodgers winning four to
oh Tonight is healthcare Appreciation night. You get a pretty
sweet jacket when you go there. Seven to ten, first pitch,
and after yesterday's sneaky little thunderstorm, we are sunny and clear,
beautiful today. Not a cloud in the sky here in Burbank.
His around seventy five Cobna. You go to seventy five Calabasas,

(14:49):
you will see seventy four your highs. It is fifty
five right now, kost Los Angeles. It's coast one O
three point five. Shakira is going to be the end
to a dome. You want to go your way in.
He is right here with your Llen KQ and A.
And we found love right well, and he found us.

(15:10):
Thanks for being with us and waking it up with us.
We're the Ellen k Morning Show. It's a talkback Tuesday.
Every talkback you leave, you are automatically entered to go
to Vegas. It's the Fountain Blue for two nights. It's
Marc Anthony. Two tickets to the show and a gas
cart for the road. Tickets on sale now ticketmaster dot com.
But why do that when you can do this so

(15:30):
easy to leave a talkback? There's a feel good talkback
from a resident here not far from our radio station
where we sit now headquarters. iHeart. We're in Burbank, four
blocks away as the crow Flies lives the one and
only actress Melissa McCarthy. She walks amongst us. We see

(15:51):
her sometimes, just out and about. And she just left
this Hi, dare.

Speaker 13 (15:59):
I just went through the Starbucks dry through and Burbank,
and the person in front of me, for abstulely no reason.

Speaker 1 (16:07):
Just bought my coffee. Thank you, Burbank person. But yeah,
really made my day. I made our day too, So
awesome Welissa McCarthy, and it feel good someone bought her coffee.
That's so cool, all right. From bride's maids to maid
of honor. It's justin Hey, Ellen.

Speaker 14 (16:29):
So I'm getting married this summer. I'm really excited. We're
keeping it very intimate. I'm only having one person stand
up there with me, my maid of honor. We had
a whole day where we went out, we picked out
her dress together. It was a great time. But then
I saw that she was wearing it like she wore
it to dinner and posted a picture of her on
Instagram wearing the dress. I don't consider myself to be

(16:52):
a bridezilla, but I kind of feel like she broke
bridle code and best friend code too. She had one job,
and it's to wear that dress up there with me
on my way day. Should I get her a new
dress or do I go as far as to get
a whole new maid of honor? I'm really upset.

Speaker 1 (17:10):
That's from Ricky. Ricky, Well, well that is a that's
a violation. She took it for a test drive. Yeah,
but you don't do that.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
Wait, really you don't. I don't know.

Speaker 1 (17:24):
Okay, So, well, it's for the wedding. It's for the wedding,
like you're the maid of honor, and I think Ricky
just said that she only has one person standing up
with her, so then you agree upon the dress. Like
I had one person standing up for me because my
sisters had little kids and I just wanted them to
be there and enjoy the wedding. So I asked my

(17:45):
best friend to stand up with me at the altar,
and I had a similar thing happened. She just wouldn't commit,
like I sent her all these choices and go shopping
with me. What do you think of this? We had
already ordered the flowers, and then she waited and waited
and waited until like a week before and it was
so stressful, and then she finally got the dress, so

(18:09):
it was But the dress is for that.

Speaker 2 (18:11):
Okay, but can it be for other things too?

Speaker 15 (18:13):
Well?

Speaker 2 (18:14):
I mean, is this are you manufacturing this anger?

Speaker 4 (18:17):
No?

Speaker 1 (18:17):
No, no, not at all.

Speaker 13 (18:19):
I've been a bride of a bridesmaid ones and a
maid of honor once. Okay, okay, And you're not supposed
to make the bride's job any harder. You're supposed to
make it easier.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
Right, Like you're there to make the day problem.

Speaker 10 (18:32):
So it's a reveal.

Speaker 2 (18:34):
You have to reveal the dress.

Speaker 1 (18:36):
Yeah, wedding, you wear it for the way. It's for
the wedding specific.

Speaker 2 (18:40):
Who made that rule?

Speaker 1 (18:41):
Well, I don't know. But what you can do after
the wedding, like say you're wearing a long gown, you
can chop it off, make it into a mini dress,
whatever you want. You can cut off the sleeves. It's
common sense. Yeah, you just don't. You just don't do that.

Speaker 2 (18:55):
Okay, it's just not done, says who.

Speaker 10 (19:02):
I mean?

Speaker 2 (19:03):
Okay, So, so what does she.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
Do just to make her maide of on and go
get a new dress? Ord would she say? Or go
get a new maid I mean, that's really that's that's
a big no, no, no, no, come on, I don't
get it.

Speaker 16 (19:20):

Coast one O three point five. It's the ellen k

and its eye contact. Lock them in and hold them.

Speaker 2 (22:03):
Would you have guessed that would you have known that?
If you didn't know, I.

Speaker 1 (22:05):
Would have said confidence okay, and things like confidence or
or happiness.

Speaker 7 (22:10):
Oh like a good smile, like yeah, would you I would?
I would have said this. I think everything starts with
the eye contact.

Speaker 1 (22:17):
Icin't okay, Just don't hold your your gaze for too long.
It's yeah, just the opposite.

Billy Idol, Wu Tang Clan, Luther Vandross shot Ah Iron Maiden.

(24:06):
But no, Mariah declined and denied for a third time.

Speaker 7 (24:09):
And you can't really make the argument that she's not
rock and roll because Wu Tang's in Shoda isn't rock
and roll.

Speaker 12 (24:15):
You know.

Speaker 2 (24:15):
There you go.

Speaker 1 (24:16):
Would you consider Luther Vandross rock and roll?

Speaker 5 (24:19):
No?

Speaker 1 (24:20):
So Mariah maybe next year. You know what, what if
they say we want to nominate, it's just I'm good,
I'm fine. I'd rather not.

Speaker 17 (24:29):
That's the move right there.

Speaker 1 (24:30):
That is the move. All right, Maria. Well, let's talk
back Tuesday. So thank you for all of your talkbacks.
We love them. They come from all over the place,
all to one button that's on your iHeart app and
then you're in our studio. Ricky left us this.

Speaker 14 (24:46):
Hey Ellen, So I'm getting married this summer. I'm only
having one person stand up there with me, my maid
of honor. We had a whole day where we went out,
we picked out her dress together. But then I saw
that she was wearing it. You wore it to dinner
and posted a picture of her on Instagram wearing the dress.

Speaker 1 (25:05):
Okay, a quote from Ryan Manu oh No said sarcastically.

Speaker 2 (25:10):
I just didn't know that was a I don't. I
still don't see.

Speaker 1 (25:13):
Do you know the rule, like, do you know the
wedding rules that you don't see the bride in her
dress until she's walking down course.

Speaker 2 (25:19):
That's tradition. It's not a rule. People adhere to it
because they want to.

Speaker 1 (25:22):
You don't wear white, you know that rule. I do
know that, Okay, right, only the bride wears white.

Speaker 2 (25:27):
I've never heard of you can't put your bridesmaid's dress
on prior to the wedding.

Speaker 1 (25:32):
You can't go out in your dress before there. You
can do it after after, Ryan, you can carve it
up any way you want a lot of people do
that you take it to your dry cleaners or your
tailors and you say, could you remove the sleeves and
you know, make this into a mini dress or whatever.
And then and it's after the wedding. The wedding is

(25:52):
like the big reveal.

Speaker 2 (25:53):
Okay, but that's for the bride and groom who cares.

Speaker 1 (25:55):
No, it's for the it's for everyone who's standing up
with you, right, it's for the forever photos.

Speaker 2 (25:59):
By the way, I'm clearly wrong. I just don't get it.

Speaker 1 (26:05):
Are there any other rules you need to know?

Speaker 10 (26:07):
No?

Speaker 1 (26:07):
I think I think I'm said, Okay, let's go to
Laverne de Leon. What do you think of the whole situation?

Speaker 15 (26:13):
You know what I would as a bride, I would
focus on myself and my day, and I would ask
somebody else to step that bridemaid down to just a bridemaid.
But don't get into her negativity. This is supposed to
be about her and her future.

Speaker 1 (26:32):
Okay. So you think it was a huge violation done
intentionally and maliciously.

Speaker 15 (26:36):
Yeah, it's kind of sad, okay, because she's probably not
married and not in this position as her friend.

Speaker 1 (26:43):
Did this ever happen to you?

Speaker 3 (26:45):
Actually?

Speaker 15 (26:46):
Yes, my friend who I had her daughter, my flower girl.
The day of our dress rehearsal, she dressed so provocatively.
Some of my other friends were wondering, like, what is
this girl doing? And she kept throwing herself on my ex.

Speaker 1 (27:05):
Now she can have him.

Speaker 4 (27:06):
But so the day before my.

Speaker 15 (27:09):
Wedding, I called her up and I said, please don't.

Speaker 1 (27:11):
Come to my wedding.

Speaker 4 (27:12):
You are no longer invited, no care. She was like, well,
my daughter is a flower girl.

Speaker 15 (27:18):
I don't need a flower girl. Okay, maybe your daughter
will learn from your mistakes.

Speaker 2 (27:22):
Oh okay, hard line.

Speaker 15 (27:24):
Yeah no, no, Ellen, I just.

Speaker 4 (27:28):
I need to say something to you. I have been
listening to you Han since you were with Rick De's. Oh.

Speaker 15 (27:34):
Thank you so much, Celia, and you are a blessing. Seriously,
the way you just share from your heart and just
provide everything that you do for people in the morning.

Speaker 4 (27:45):
You have no ideas.

Speaker 15 (27:46):
Sometimes you can change somebody's whole day, maybe even their
whole life, by just the things that you guys offer.

Speaker 4 (27:54):
To everyone in the morning.

Speaker 1 (27:55):
We love being here. Thank you so much. Yeah yeah, uh, Delia, Well,
thank you also for your your bridal hardline. I think
you know people need to hear that too.

Speaker 4 (28:06):
You know, sometimes you just need to just stay away
from people that are so negative that want to just
deposit something so harshly onto your life that, you know what,
just just keep them away from you.

Speaker 1 (28:19):
Okay, we will surgically remove.

Speaker 15 (28:21):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (28:22):
Thanks, Celia, have a beautiful day.

Speaker 5 (28:25):
You guys to.

Speaker 1 (28:28):
Okay, Yes, jealous, malicious schemer, that's what that bride is, Ricky,
did you hear that?

Speaker 2 (28:35):
Well, you guys, she woren't dressed at dinner.

Speaker 1 (28:38):
Yeah, the rules, you guys ever heard broke code?

The big screening was last night in Gary, Indiana, the
birthplace of Michael Jackson, and he has played in the
movie Michael by his nephew Ja'far Jafar Jackson had to
fight to make everyone really believe that he was Michael.
In fact, they filmed like the Thriller scene where they
actually filmed the original Thriller scene. Just a ton of authenticity.

(30:29):
Here's Jafar.

Speaker 17 (30:30):
It was a process that I really had to earn
and it really proved to the filmmakers and myself and
my family that I can get to that point where
I can pull it off and I remember that specific
performance performing the exact Auditornia where Michael did it. Just
to get that energy and that that feeling was it
was incredible, all.

Speaker 1 (30:51):
The critics saying he nailed it. Ten days until the
Michael movie is out.

Speaker 2 (30:55):
You know you made me feel so good inside. Always
wanted the girl.

Speaker 11 (32:08):
Mark Anthony's music has been so powerful and amazing and
helping me get through the fun changes of menopause. I've
been rediscovering myself through his beautiful lyrics and rhythm. He
has also helped me develop a passion for salta music
and I took up salsa dancing. So it'd be great
to go see to his concert with my new and
improved version. So I hope you guys can make that happen.

Speaker 1 (32:32):
When you're definitely into her. Thank you for sharing. You
are the l K morning, So thank you so much
for all your calls and your talkbacks. This morning a
lot of people reacting to a talkback that we got
from Ricky hey Ellen.

Speaker 14 (32:54):
So I'm getting married this summer. I'm only having one
person stand up there with me, my maid of honor.
You had a whole day where we went out, we
picked out her dress together, but then I saw that
she was wearing it like she wore it to dinner
and posted a picture of her on Instagram wearing the dress.

Speaker 1 (33:11):
Okay, big violation. Ryan's just learning that this morning that
that's not something that you should do. It's just not
appropriate the dresses for the wedding. Then you can do
whatever you want.

Speaker 8 (33:22):
To with it.

Speaker 2 (33:23):
I would assume that most men don't know that.

Speaker 1 (33:26):
Okay, Mike didn't know.

Speaker 2 (33:27):
I did not know that, right right?

Speaker 1 (33:29):
Ryan even said, oh no, I don't even get it.
Like why because it's a special it's a special thing.
Why do you hire a DJ for a wedding? Why
do you hire a photographer and a videographer? Why do
you have why do you have a wedding cake? Yeah,
pre to the wedding, not before the wedding. Yeah, you
want to get your money's worth. I'm sure it's a

(33:50):
lot of money. You can do that after you see
it's for the wedding. It's for that day. It's a
special day, and that's when the world gets to see it. Okay, quick.

Speaker 2 (34:00):
One thing. When I got married many moon ago, you
were a grooms woman.

Speaker 1 (34:05):
A grooms woman, I wore a suit.

Speaker 2 (34:07):
You and I went together, yes to pick out said suit.

Speaker 8 (34:10):
Huh.

Speaker 7 (34:10):
Had I seen you in that suit prior to the
wed I would have said, oh my god, I love
that you wore that.

Speaker 2 (34:14):
To do so, I would not have thrown a fit.
I would have said I love it.

Speaker 1 (34:20):
Okay. And here's the difference. Here's the difference. Because a
suit looks like every other suit, Oh, for the love
of come on, an address can be so very different. Okay,
all of us guys, all of us guys standing next
to you, we all looked the same, and so did.

Speaker 2 (34:41):
All of the women. In this case, it's fabric on
a body.

Speaker 1 (34:47):
Jeez, that's good of Mandy, Mandy, everyone's kicking this made
of honor out of the wedding. What are you thinking?

Speaker 3 (34:55):
So my thoughts are I don't know who was because
I've been a bridesmade plenty of times and I I mean,
I never had to think of it before this question
on your radio station. But yeah, common sense would be,
do not wear it before because again, it's for that
special day, right, that's kind of what's known. I know, Ryan,

(35:16):
that didn't make sense to you, but it's kind of rules.

Speaker 15 (35:19):
But afterwards, do.

Speaker 3 (35:20):
Whatever you want with the dress, but beforehand, it's specific
for her special day.

Speaker 1 (35:24):
Okay, So she's but does she get a new dress
for her or does she replace her?

Speaker 3 (35:31):
No, definitely not replace her. I don't feel like it
was a I think it was Mike I was speaking with.
I don't feel like it was malicious or there was
any malicious intent behind it. Maybe they just, you know,
they just loved the dress and had an event that
they didn't have a dress.

Speaker 1 (35:43):
For and oh I have this dress.

Speaker 3 (35:45):
I don't think so, but maybe a conversation for sure
needs to be had.

Speaker 1 (35:50):
You know, no foul, no harm. Yeah, okay, good, thank you, Mandy.

Speaker 4 (35:56):
Of course, you guys have a three day.

Speaker 1 (36:00):
Totally different from Delia Laburne. Delia said, this is a jealous,
malicious steamer.

Speaker 16 (36:10):
Talk back Tuesday with the marsh On Coast one of

Kingdom of Fraud

Kingdom of Fraud

It’s the unlikeliest of criminal partnerships: a devout polygamist from an insular Utah sect joining forces with a shadowy Armenian tycoon from LA. The result - a billion dollar fraud conspiracy. In Kingdom of Fraud, investigative reporter Michele McPhee traces the origins of the extraordinary alliance between Jacob Kingston and Levon Termendzhyan. Together, the two men trigger the largest tax investigation in American history and weave around themselves a web of dirty cops, influential political relationships and transnational money laundering. All this is set against the backdrop of Jacob Kingston’s clan – The Order. A powerful and secretive polygamist organization in Salt Lake City. To whom Jacob is desperate to prove his worth.
