Speaker 2 (01:28):
I love touches like that. There is a lucky thing
you can do if you're going to have a beverage today.
You can drown the shamrock. So they say that that's
good luck. On Saint Patrick's Day, one dunks a shamrock
into a glass of whiskey, drinks the whiskey, then throws
the shamrock.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
Over the left shoulder.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
Yeah, Saint Patrick himself was the first to dunk a
shamrock into a glass of whiskey.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
And that's how the legend.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
Where does one acquire a shamrock?

Speaker 4 (01:54):

I think you have to go to the field and
find one.

Speaker 3 (01:57):
So we go pick a shower.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
You can split the g. What's okay?

Speaker 2 (02:05):
So if you have a Guinness, you know it takes
a long time to pour one on tap because you
got to get just the right balance of beer with
the head. Splitting the g is your first drink. You
got to get the phone down to split the g
of guinness.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
That would be hard. That would require precision if you
think about it, because you're not looking right. You just
got to like, you have to know you got to
give it. Yeah, you got to be a seasoned drinker.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
Insurance splits the g.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
He knows exactly how long.

Speaker 5 (02:33):
You're a Where lmka go?

Speaker 5 (03:10):
Tillian host one of three point five Inside Entertainment with
Ellen k.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
I had to take off my son Patrick's hat to
put Okay, let's go inside Conan O'Brien has a steady
gig hosting the Academy Awards if he wants it. An
executive at Disney who oversees production of the Oscars broadcast
on ABC said, Conan has a standing offer to host
as long as he wants to one percent. We love

(03:41):
him back forever. This is a forever deal. You don't
hear about these very often. The Disney execs said, we're
assuming that Conan is going to say yes, so let's
go Conan. And then he went to cheesecake factory after
the Oscars. That was his crave.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
I don't know what items he ordered, but that's what
he was really wanting.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
How about this?

Speaker 2 (04:04):
Pink is not replacing Kelly Clarkson, norwill Tara Lepinski and
Johnny Ware NBC Universal leaving the first run syndication business
because streaming and podcasts of shrunk daytime TV viewership. Now
most pop culture news is found through social media and
listening to the radio. Kelly Clarkson pulling the plug on
her daytime show, tipping the scales for NBC to shut
down that production.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
So we'll see if that's if that's true. And what
about this?

Speaker 2 (04:28):
Paul Thomas Anderson has finally won his Best Director at
the Oscars, as you know, but you know that there
are three legendary directors who won their first Best Director
Oscar with Leo DiCaprio, and that is James Cameron and
Martin Scorsese. So he's like a good luck charman. Oh,
here we are in.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
A day of luck.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
What about the highest paid actor in twenty twenty five?
Number three Mark Wahlberg forty four mili, number two Tom
Cruise forty six million, and number one Adam Sandlery tops
the Forbes list forty eight million dollars from starring in
Happy Gilmore two and opposite George Clooney and j Kelly.
That came and went in. So yeah, I came out
on top. Do you know who directed The Irishman? It
was Martin Scorsese. You go, yeah, I love all this

(05:08):
Irish stuff. What about this Debbie Levado revealing to Jimmy
Fallon that she loves the Goo Goo Dolls song Iris
so much she had John Resnik performing at her wedding.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
She said, we were so grateful to have a perform
It was a no brainer.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
That was the That was the artist she wanted she
got him. Demi's new cookbook, One Plate at a Time,
is in stores today. Megan Trainer, as you said, Ryan
listing her La home six point nine million dollars, ten bedrooms,
so we'll see where shets.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
I didn't Megan comes by here all the time. I
didn't know she had such opt the ones.

Speaker 1 (05:40):
Good for you? Yeah, you go, all right, Oprah.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
It is going viral around the globe, you know, the
cold Play couple.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
Three hundred billion views, you guys, that's.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
Crazy, the most watched video of twenty twenty five. It
changed the course of Christian Cabot's life. The full interview
is available today on Oprah's YouTube channel and wherever podcasts
are available. Oprah sat down with Kristin Cabot, one half
of the couple who went viral getting Cozy, and the
two dropped some new deats about that night.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
So I think it's very important. This is what I
did not know before the story. And y'all can obviously
didn't know either that she was separated from her husband
and that her boss was also separated or said he
was separated from his wife. Did y'all know that?

Speaker 2 (06:34):
Okay, Oprah's schooling us and Kristin's a strange husband was
also at the show that night with his new woman.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
So everyone's off the hook.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
Well and heard Kristen's daughter called and said, Hey, you know,
I know you're here with Andy.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
Guess who else is here? The thing is the look
on their faces that were we supposed to.

Speaker 3 (06:54):
See exactly what or something?

Speaker 2 (06:57):
She thought that because there are fifty five thousand people there,
how would they ever be called out?

Speaker 3 (07:03):
This changes everything?

Speaker 5 (07:06):
La wakes up. We'll up for the morning for you
with the L and K Morning Show.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
Lescaus are supposed to have pots of gold hidden all
over the place.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
Host three point five, Hi, good morning, good morning. Hi.

Speaker 7 (07:22):
Getting ready to celebrate at work.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
Okay, what are you guys doing at work? And where
do you work? And what's your name?

Speaker 7 (07:28):
My name is Ellie. I'm from Orange Tony and I
work in education.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
Okay, So you're going to decorate like we are here
in the studio.

Speaker 7 (07:39):
Yeah, so we're already decorated. So we're just gonna have
like a little pop lock and you.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
Know, yeah, and and where green.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
My husband pitched me so hard on the butt this morning.

Speaker 3 (07:52):
Really, okay, is not too much for me? I love
that though. Is going to see the Ellie fence?

Speaker 1 (08:02):
Yes, Ellie, you got a four pack?

Speaker 2 (08:05):
Thank you?

Speaker 3 (08:06):
Did you guys know?

Speaker 4 (08:07):
So?

Speaker 3 (08:07):
I was there over the weekend at Elephant Valley. Just
open that. No matter the age, the female elephant, yes,
is always higher in their social structure. So a dad
can have a daughter and she outranks him instantly.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
Oh wow, okay, go girls, Yeah, go girls, that's awesome.

Speaker 6 (08:23):
It's Ellen, okay, getting you ready for Saint Patrick's day
time of the morning.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
Till yet it's your happiness hack Now, you can hack happiness.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
According to Ryan Manow, you can.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
Hack luck, Ellen luck. Do you consider yourself a lucky person?

Speaker 2 (08:37):
I feel very lucky because I met my husband. I
feel lucky waking up and doing this every morning with
you guys, And I feel lucky with my son.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
Yeah, I feel lucky. Okay, do you feel lucky? I do?

Speaker 3 (08:49):
Yeah. Some people, you know, they refer to him as
just like, oh, that guy was born with a horseshoe.
You know, horses What does that mean? I can't say
the rest of.

Speaker 2 (08:57):
The phrase, but do you know the phrase oh, I
don't know the phrase.

Speaker 3 (09:02):
It doesn't say that about people that are lucky. But
it turns out no one is actually really lucky. We
have to move away from the idea that luck is random.
We view like luck as rand Oh my god, this
thing just happened to me.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
Oh I see yes.

Speaker 3 (09:15):
Research says, though it's it's influenced by your actions, your mindset,
and your preparation. We have to view it as like
a system of probability rather than some random occurrence that
just happen. So there's three things we can do to
luck today, I'm the Saint Patrick's day. So you increase
your luck surface area. The more people you know, the
more initiatives you start, the higher your likelihood of experience

(09:36):
experiencing events that we consider lucky. So like, the more
you do to increase your luck surface area, the more
things are going to happen. Okay, don't wait for opportunities,
create them. Get comfortable being uncomfortable. Research says the people
that find the most luck are the people that step
outside their comfort zone. So like, if there's a tough
conversation or you want to go, you want to raise
or whatever, and you're putting it off it's not going to.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
Happen dance classes, and I was very unlucky in dance class.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
You will stepped out of my comfort zone. Okay, Well,
but you know what, I did make a good friend there. Yeah,
so you're lucky in friendship.

Speaker 3 (10:08):
Yeah, okay, when did this happen?

Speaker 1 (10:10):
I don't remember the Julie Yeah, the Julian huff. Oh yeah, yeah.
Stepped my comfort zone on that one.

Speaker 3 (10:18):
Okay, and finally adopt a lucky mindset again. Research shows
that lucky people differ from unlucky people in how they
think and behave. So if you like go through life
and you're like, oh, of course that happens to me,
things like that are going to keep happening to you.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
Got to keep a good lucky attitude.

Speaker 3 (10:35):
So it's where preparation meets opportunity. Create your luck. Today.

Speaker 5 (10:38):
Go get Coast one O three point five The llen
K Morning Show. Follow us at Coast one o three
five dot com.

Speaker 2 (10:44):
Top stories top of the hour, Good morning, I'm Ellen

Speaker 1 (10:49):
The NBA could be adding two more teams.

Speaker 2 (10:51):
The league's board of governors meeting to vote on a
possible pair of fresh franchises. The expansion only looking at
Seattle and Vegas. Twenty three of the thirty teen governors
need to vote yes to make it happen. Assuming they do,
both new teams will enter the league play in twenty
twenty eight.

Speaker 1 (11:06):
This is crazy town.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
New franchise owners will pay ten billion dollars in expansion fees.
That money split amongst the owners, not a penny.

Speaker 1 (11:16):
To the players. And the Grunion run is on at
our beaches.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
Hundreds of thousands of the silvery fish washing ashore this
week to breed and lay their eggs. They always do
it during the first new moon in March, which is tomorrow,
like clockwork too.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
They literally arrive at ten pm sharp. How do they know?

Speaker 2 (11:32):
Unlike other fish, Grunnion come completely out of the water
to lay their eggs in wet sand.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
Interesting legal note.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
Grunion can be caught recreationally, but only by using your
hands no more than thirty per person. Also, you cannot
dig holes to entrap them. You just have to grab them.
They are slippery. It's a big challenge. And we have
your Disneyland passes all week with the ellen Kkeq and
a that's coming up just around the corner and garden
Grove has a new easy way to get to Disney

(11:58):
the city launching a new shop for less than five dollars.
You park at any Garden Grove hotel and the bus
which runs all day, picks you up, drops you at
the park, then brings you back. Solid pivot for anyone
looking to save some cash. And in nineteen thirty six,
Irish Bostonian entertainment lawyer Tom Bergen founded LA's first Irish pub.

(12:19):
It was called the Old Horseshoe Tavern on wilsherbvi It
and moved to Fairfax and now it's named after the
man himself, Bergens.

Speaker 1 (12:25):
Tom Bergens the tavern.

Speaker 2 (12:26):
Claims to have introduced Irish coffee to the US. Some
argue that San Francisco's Buynavista Cafe holds that title. Either way,
tom Bergen's one of the oldest bars in continuous operation
in La boasting the second oldest liquor license in the city.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
They opened at six.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
Am and it knew they're going to have bands and
all kinds of stuff in the parking lot. But it's
Irish coffee. Still one of the best you'll find. We're
just saying, and we didn't totally luck out with the
weather today, we are cooking. Some schools are even calling
off practices. It is dangerous heat. Libraries are serving as
cooling centers and we're camping out here all week. Advisories
in place till Friday. Some valley areas going up over

least it undermines him as a manager.

two other emojis.

Speaker 1 (15:58):

all the girls.

Speaker 3 (16:02):
What would you feel I would feel when you got
that from one of our fine boss I.

Speaker 1 (16:08):
Would be like, what does that mean? Why? Why is
he winking at me?

Speaker 3 (16:12):
And then if he does it to Dart, does that
make it worse or better? Would you rather just be
to one of you or all of you?

Speaker 1 (16:18):
I don't know. It's creepy, Yeah, it's creepy for sure.
It's creepy, like, what are you thinking? Right? You're thinking
something bad?

As of this morning, more than nine hundred and fifty
thousand dollars has been raised on GoFundMe for Richard Pulley,
a seventy eight year old door dash driver in Tennessee,
and his wife, Brenda. The campaign was set up by
Britney Smith, who had a Starbucks order dropped off by police.
She noticed him struggling just to get up her two
steps and then back down. He gingerly put the order

(23:39):
in front of the door, and she just said I
need to help him. His wife's medical bills had been
forced out of retirement and now he was going for
door dash. This has actually been protected at a million
dollars so far. So way to go everyone who is
given and what about this? There are eleven cities, towns,
and townships in America named Dublin Happy Saint Patrick's Day.

and we're camping out here all the week.

Speaker 2 (24:48):
Every talkback you leave, you are automatically entered for a
digital drawing. And nine forty five this morning, Megan train
or the m train at the Forum. California has the
highest concentration in all of the land of Irish Americans.
Hancock Park, Hermosa Beach. Shout out, You've got the highest
concentration here.

Speaker 1 (25:07):
In the south Land.

Speaker 2 (25:09):
Maybe you are celebrating today, Just be careful, catches up
to you quickly. The average number of drinks per Californian,
especially Southern Californian. We're talking La Metro. Just guess right,
how many? Just an average of Patricks on St. Patrick's Day.
And this could be beer, whiskey or both whatever, seven

(25:30):
seven for the average. Yeah, that's a lot of drinks. Ryan,
what do you say three?

Speaker 1 (25:38):
I'm gonna say two two. It's four and a half.

Speaker 3 (25:40):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (25:42):
They say if you are going to have a beverage
Irish lucks Is, you have to finish the whole thing.
Never leave any drink and you know, not finished, because
then the bad luck can seep in there.

Speaker 1 (25:55):
So you got it every drop.

Speaker 3 (25:56):
Can I tell you how I arrived at seven?

Speaker 1 (25:58):
Well, yeah, we would like to know that because we
were gonna ask you off there.

Speaker 3 (26:02):
So you assume that, like most people are gonna go too, right,
But there's a bunch of people who are probably already
on number eleven.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
But I don't see how that's possible. Eleven drinks by
eight am. You don't know the people I know, I
guess I don't. I don't want to know the people
probably don't seven.

Speaker 2 (26:23):
Okay, well it's four and a half. Thank god it's
not more ginger leftist this talkback.

Speaker 3 (26:28):
Hey Allen, love you guys. We got a new sales
manager at work and he puts a winky face emoji
in every message to all the girls here. Is that weird?

Speaker 1 (26:37):
We think it's weird? Is that weird? Winky faces?

Speaker 2 (26:43):
It says so much. You can make the manual winky
face that you do with the two dots and the
you know, oh yeah, the emoticon. Yeah, but the emoji,
the winky face emoji says so much. There's so much
unexplained there from a boss.

Speaker 3 (27:02):
I do think It makes it less weird though, that
he sends it to all the girls.

Speaker 1 (27:06):
It's like, just okay, well what about this? Would he
send it to guys?

Speaker 6 (27:10):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (27:10):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (27:11):
He's not sending it to everyone. He's sending all into
the girls. And he's a new salesmanager and in a
management position. Did you become the manager because of the emojis?

Speaker 1 (27:21):
Or because you're a manager you use them?

Speaker 2 (27:25):
Julianne, you really like your boss and you heard this,
so you use a winky emoji on your boss?

Speaker 7 (27:33):
Well, yeah, I have a big crush on my boss.

Speaker 1 (27:38):
On your boss, Oh, tell us.

Speaker 2 (27:39):
You'd have to tell us who he is or she
or where you guys work, But go ahead and spill.

Speaker 4 (27:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (27:46):
I've just had a crush on my boss for you know,
maybe the last like five years.

Speaker 1 (27:52):
Five five years?

Speaker 7 (27:53):
Yeah, oh I have. I'm in a relationship and everything.
He's married, so I just it's just every time that
he comes around, I start laughing together.

Speaker 1 (28:01):
Nice tirling your hair?

Speaker 3 (28:05):
Now does he know does he feel that vibe from you?
I mean, I know you're not acting on it, but
does he get the sense? Oh?

Speaker 7 (28:12):
Yeah, I know that he does, because he told me
he's like you have a either. He told me maybe
a comment once, but you know, so I was like, okay,
I better make sure i'm, you know, really professional around him.

Speaker 2 (28:22):
Does his wife or your boyfriend know that you two
have this flirtation.

Speaker 7 (28:28):
Oh, my boyfriend does, and I wouldn't you know? Yeah,
I don't want to tell him.

Speaker 2 (28:34):
Well, thank you so much for sharing that, Julian. That's
five years, five years of a crush. That's that's a
long time.

Speaker 3 (28:45):
It's a long time.

Speaker 1 (28:47):
Wouldn't you be bothered? Yeah, my boyfriend knows all about it.

Speaker 7 (28:53):
You know.

Speaker 2 (28:53):
We need to play for them that song closing time
