Speaker 2 (01:50):
Calvit all right, coming up, we're gonna go inside Entertainment.
There's a wax figure of Taylor Swift and it's you

Speaker 1 (02:22):
Well, this is shocking.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
Blake Lively's legal team will meet this afternoon with a
US magistrate judge to take the temperature on a settlement
with Justin Baldoni. Last week, another judge dismissed the sexual
harassment claims on technicalities and our later Baldoni's defense team
will have a similar meeting about their client's updated settlement position.
So their trial is scheduled from a eighteenth that they

(02:45):
say a settlement could happen today both parties agree with
what they want. You know, in the past it's has
been a stone wall, both sides showing no interest in
mediation and wanting to plow forward to a jury trial.
But now I think there's a lot of I don't know,
fatigue on it and just the fighting is wearing everyone down.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
So we'll see what happens.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
And for the second Street weekend, Justin Bieber rehearses Coachella
set before an intimate audience. Five hundred lucky followers saw
Beabes perform at the Tubadour in West Hollywood. Is something
to prove to himself into the industry after years of
mental health battles, So there's a lot riding on this concert.
He headlined Saturday night at the Coachella Festival in the Desert.
Sabrina Carpenter takes the stage of this Friday. Carol Ge

(03:26):
will be at the headliner on Sunday. It's going to
be a great weekend at a wax figure of Taylor Swift.
We'll have twenty four seven security to prevent any breast rubbing.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
I don't know why that happens.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
To Taylor Swift, but fans like to rub there, so
they want to prevent people from doing that. There's another
statue not far away from hers that also gets the rubbed.
The rubb yeah, yeah, yeah, so they're going to have
lots of guards there. And speaking of Taylor Swift, she
could be without Travis on June eleventh at her Songwriter
Hall of Fame induction in New York.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
City because the Kansas City Chief.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
Schedule the mandatory mini camp training session for June ninth, tenth,
and eleven.

Speaker 4 (04:07):
So even Travis has like the mandatory the stuff. You know,
we have our work trainings and stuff we have to
do online. Yeah, this is his version.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
Oh my God.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
And the box office over the weekend, Project tail Mary
pulling down another thirty mil per second, and the Super
Mario Galaxy movie roaring to number one at one hundred
and ninety million dollars.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
Dore, I know that you saw it with Little Bear.

Speaker 8 (04:28):
Yeah, I wore my shirt today. I'm like still on
fire from it. It's such a fun movie. You don't
need to think extra. You just look at all the
pretty colors and you know, to see Coopa's castle come
to life with the fireballs.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
Oh, I can't get over it.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
Also, what a great review, and Savannah Guthrie returns to
the Today Show Today.

it's hard to believe in God or higher power when
you're going through things like she is.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
So she said, ready or not, she's here.

That's right, and we'll call today's hack the right Stuff.
What's the first thing I gave you this morning when
you walk through the door.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
You gave me a brand new sharpie and I love Sharpie.

Speaker 4 (05:37):
Yeah, I said, fresh week, fresh tool.

Speaker 5 (05:39):
So good.

Speaker 4 (05:40):
So a new study out of UCLA shout out. By
the way, Lady Bruins National Champs, Way to Go finds it.
When we write instead of type, our brains slow down
just enough to actually process what we're thinking. So that
extra friction is not a drawback, it's the advantage. The
right stuff is the right The right stuff is the
right stuff. So writing works because it improves your memory.
It engages more parts of your brain. It enables clearer thinking,

(06:03):
so you're forced to simplify rather than just dump deeper focus.
No tabs, no notifications looking at you, it's just you
and the page. Stronger ideas. Handwriting helps you spot what
actually matters versus what's filler. So handwriting is for thinking.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
That is so cool.

Speaker 4 (06:18):
Typing is for polishing.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
Oh gotcha. I love the right stuff.

Speaker 4 (06:22):
The right stuff. You make it happen. Ten minutes a day,
you're gonna notice your ideas get sharper, everything gets clearer.
And that's what we all want to need on a Monday. Yes,
and thank you for the sharp sharp Yes.

Speaker 7 (06:32):
It's the llen K Morning Show.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
You see ye, this PAC's up the list.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
Yes we are.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
It's kind of confusing too. We've never done it there
with the women. Just that's the last time that UCLA
has had a national championship. And let's keep it rolling,
big celebrations all over campus. We'll let you know in
any kind of public parades they're being planned. And tonight
Menstern Michigan, Yukon who takes the title? Five point thirty
tip on TBSTNT and True TV. Oddsmakers have the Wolverines

(07:28):
as seven point faives to win it all. We're hearing
reports of a possible forty five days ceasefire in Iran,
the deal being broken by Pakistan and not a minute
too soon, this after the president threatened to blow up
the entire country, leaders in Tehran saying they'll have.

Speaker 1 (07:42):
Their proposal this morning.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
And what about this Tiger Woods touching down in Zurich, Switzerland,
where he's undergoing treatment following his latest dui rollover crash
his private jet landing over the weekend. It's believed that
he's at a single patient facility called Paracelus Recovery. It's
unclear how long Tiger Plants is and rehabit. A judge
signed off with the exemption that Woods return home for
court in May and a mile mix of clouds and

(08:06):
son to welcome the week times in the seventy five

Speaker 7 (08:27):
It's the L and K Morning Show. I love it.

Speaker 6 (08:29):
You guys are my morning happiness.

Speaker 7 (08:31):
Coast one oh three point five.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
Ready for a beautiful day. It's going to be sunny
and nights.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
What a gorgeous weekend. Woke up this morning and the
little things are the big things. That's what we've always
said on the show. From day one and the little
thing that I just stared at, I took photos of it.
I can't get enough fit is all the sand in
my car. So we went to the beach. We went
to l Porto yesterday. The waves were gorgeous. Never believe
the app because the app will say, oh, one to

(08:56):
two feet, these were like, you know, three to four
perfectly formed el Porta waves. I'm not a surfer, but
my son Calvin was surfing there. And then this morning
I saw all the sand, just gonna leave it there.

Speaker 6 (09:09):
Good.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
What's your little thing? That's a big thing.

Speaker 4 (09:12):
I got a bunch of new clothes this week. I just,
you know, like that feeling where you're like you when
you get really tired of the clothes you have, You're like,
I can't wear that again. Yeah, So I just I
went to Nordstrom Rap and went no love to.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
Rip off tags. Yeah.

Speaker 8 (09:25):
Yesterday we had just family over and just laughing together. Ah,
that's so good sitting around a table having dessert, laughing.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
I love that.

Speaker 10 (09:33):
I'm kind of like you, Ellen. I saw a bunch
of candy wrappers in my back seat this morning and
the girls were back there, so I just smile at it.
Yeah there and just smile.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
It's so good.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
These are precious moments. Call us with yours too. We
also love your letters to Ellen.

Speaker 7 (09:48):
Right to Ellen for advice because she's seen a thing
or two.

Speaker 3 (09:51):
She is Ellen.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
Are you living with someone who's a road warrior? They're
always on the road, Kim A letter about Micah. Dear Ellen,
I'm dating Micah. He's successful, he's driven. He travels two
hundred and forty five days a year overseeing major product installations.
He has built an incredible life and he's brought me
into it. I live in his beachfront home. I can

(10:16):
drive any of his cars. There are surprise gifts, jewelry,
spa days, the kind of treatment my friends dream about.
They tell me I have won. But I'm lonely. Mike's
gone most of the year, and when he's home it's brief,
like a whirlwind of attention.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
Then he's off again. He asked me to come with
him sometimes I.

Speaker 2 (10:33):
Do, but I have a plates and yoga studio here
in La that I love. I don't want to give
that up to follow someone else's life, and I don't
trust a relationship that mostly exists without me in it.
Nikes I don't know where he is half the time.
He's so charming. That's part of how he got so successful.
My friends think I'm crazy for even questioning this. Do

(10:54):
I hold on to the man who gives me everything?

Speaker 1 (10:56):
Or walk away?

Speaker 2 (10:56):
Because the one thing I want is the thing he
can't give me, his presence, Kim, I love this, Justin
Bieber lonely beg Ryan.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
Curated it for you, Ellen, Thank you.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
So Kim is lonely. Micah sounds like he is, you know,
all in. But he's gone two hundred and forty five
days here.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
That's a lot. Could you do it?

Speaker 4 (11:21):
No, that wouldn't be a fun relationship. Take the stuff
away from it. I think even I don't know. That
would be tough.

Speaker 8 (11:26):
I went through something similar when my husband was a
paramedic and would work twenty four thirty six forty eight
hour shifts, and we went from going to school together,
working together, living together, to him being gone for days
and we had just started having kids, and I was
so lonely. And that's when I started my addiction of
binge watching.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
Okay, because you were lonely.

Speaker 8 (11:49):
I realized that I did change. I grew, I shall
say I grew and I instead just embraced it and
tried to make the most of it and kind of
tried following him, like can I bring you lunch?

Speaker 1 (12:03):
Okay? Yeah, you're trying to insert in. Yeah, And it worked.
I got used to it.

Speaker 8 (12:09):
It was a new way, and the paychecks were nice.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
Not gonna lie. Well, well, Kim two hundred and forty
five days, Mike, could you do it?

Speaker 10 (12:16):
I think I could do it. But in this case,
I think they have to compromise because because he is
so busy, even carving out like a weekend would go
such a long way with Kim, you know, I think
they can compromise and come to an agreement.

Speaker 4 (12:31):
Does anyone else find it weird that she a lot
of this letter talks about all the things that he
gives her, Like there's not a ton about what a
great guy. It's like the luxury cars, the beach front home.
You know, it just seems a lot it's materialistic.

Speaker 2 (12:44):
Yeah, well, I think I think she's trying to paint
the picture of the void versus the stuff.

Speaker 4 (12:48):
Yeah, but sometimes everything can be nothing like all the things.
Things are just things. The one thing you want is him,
and he doesn't give it to you. It's a no brainer.
That's what you want and it's not.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
It's not there, right. Do I hold onto the man
it gives me everything? Or walk away because the one
thing I want is his presence and he's not giving
me that. Well, she kind of answered herself. But if
you're in one of these, you know kind of relationships
where someone's always on their road, I mean imagine being
married to a professional athlete or or I don't know,

(13:18):
a rock star or something, or just any kind of
traveling person, pilot, a pilot. I think the pilot's rank
number one in cheaters. So you've got a lot. There's
just a lot of time apart. It's eight hundred nine
two nine. Kost give us a call. We want to
know if you're going through it or what Kim should do?

most dangerous place for temptation is your phone.

Speaker 4 (18:10):
I'll take this even beyond human interaction.

Speaker 9 (18:12):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (18:13):
A lot of times we get hooked into, you know,
things we see and ads right like oh this, oh
this bronze and cream takes out okay, beef liver capsules.

Speaker 1 (18:24):
Then your your algorithm gets filled with it.

A lot of people celebrating. Savannah Gutfree back behind the
anchor desk. And we're less than two months out from
our June second primary election, in which LA voters will
decide on the city's mayor.

Speaker 1 (19:13):
As of today, undecided voters dominate.

Speaker 2 (19:16):
Forty percent say they have no idea who they're picking
this according to a new UCLA poll. Currently Mayor Karen
Bass leeds with twenty five percent. Reality star Spencer Pratt
is in second with eleven percent of voters, but the
rest not feeling anybody and the first place Dodger is
sweeping the Nationals this weekend. In DC, Otani's back came alive,
going deep twice against the Nats.

Speaker 1 (19:36):
Wasn't all good news.

Speaker 2 (19:38):
Mookie Betts has placed on the injured list major hit

Thank you so much for all your calls, your talkbacks,
our letters, Ellen, we read them every Monday and Wednesday,
and thank you for getting them to us at Coast
one o three five dot com.

Speaker 7 (20:56):
Right to Ellen for advice because she's seen a thing
or two is Ellen.

Speaker 2 (21:03):
Kim loves Micah, Michael loves Kim, but Micah is on
the road two hundred and forty five days a year
overseeing major product installations. So Kim is kind of just
living in his place, driving his cars. All their friends
say she's one, but she's lonely. She feels completely alone
because really he's not there, So what kind of relationshipsiness?

(21:25):
I have a friend who's on dating apps and she
recently told me never told me the story before, because
she's been on these dating apps for eight years and she's.

Speaker 1 (21:34):
Not really looking for anything.

Speaker 2 (21:36):
She'd like to meet someone, and she thought she finally did,
and they dated for three months. They would meet up
in Santa Monica at his place, and then she finds out, oh,
he's got a family in Orange County. Whoa, whoa, Yeah,
that entire family in a marriage. And she's in Santa

(21:58):
Monica for three months, you know, with guy, And how
scary is that?

Speaker 3 (22:04):
Whoa?

Speaker 2 (22:05):
Who knows what Mike is doing on the road for
two hundred and forty five days. He invites Kim, but
she's like, well, I've got my yoga and Vlate's business. Yeah,
I love it.

Speaker 1 (22:13):
I just I want you.

Speaker 2 (22:14):
I don't you know why can't Why can't he clear
it out and be home more? I guess the job
is over the job major installations.

Speaker 4 (22:27):
It doesn't sound to me, I one, like he's giving
her much even when he's present his presence.

Speaker 1 (22:31):
Right, yeah, right right. I don't trust your relationship that
mostly exists without me in it. What do I do? Kim? Okay, Lauren,
thank you? So you think they're doomed?

Speaker 6 (22:45):
I mean eventually if he keeps doing that. I believe so.
I mean because you can always find time out of
your schedule when someone truly means something to you. So
even a day off, a few hours off, take her
on a date to the movies to show her that
she means something to him. I mean that does a lot.
So I mean, if he can't make the time for her,

(23:06):
I mean, I think it's going to be the same.

Speaker 2 (23:08):
I had a friend engaged to a baseball player that
didn't go well.

Speaker 6 (23:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (23:14):
Yeah, he came home, she saw all kinds of things
in his computer, and then he had to go practice.
When he came back, all of his stuff was on
the lawne Oh god, it's.

Speaker 4 (23:26):
Like a real life you're out.

Speaker 1 (23:27):
Yeah that's right. Yeah all right. So you say, well
they're doomed.

Speaker 6 (23:34):
I mean if he keeps going that way, Like it
is nice to have the luxuries, but I enjoy spending
time with the person. It's not so much about you
know what they have always and you know how much
they have. It's more for me for them to show
that they really care. That means a lot.

Speaker 2 (23:50):
It's all about experiences together. That's I mean, that's so
two hundred and forty five days. That only leaves one
hundred and twenty days for them to to make memories.

Speaker 6 (24:02):
And then is he going to be making those memories
with her the whole time or are you still on
the computer doing stuff or.

Speaker 2 (24:09):
Oh boy, okay, well, thank you so much, Lauren, have
a great day.

Speaker 6 (24:13):
Thank you, Alli and Ryan, you guys. I love you guys.

Speaker 1 (24:17):
Thanks Lauren.

Speaker 2 (24:19):
So she thinks they're doomed, Well, here's what I would say.
Think of the people that you love in your life.
You know, Darlene, you came in so happy this morning
saying that you and your family just sat around laughing
at dessert. I got to hug my son, you know,
this weekend and just hear his laughter and hear his
voice and just hang out with him and be together.
You know, it's all about these things that we do

(24:41):
with the people that we love. And if they're never there,
you can't fall you can't stay in love over FaceTime.

Speaker 4 (24:47):
No, and you can't make someone spend time with you
that they don't want to spend with you. Your son's busy, right,
he works in tech up in Silicon Beell. He probably
would have been a little easier for him to not
fly home for Easter weekend, but he did it.

Speaker 1 (24:58):
He did because love you Ell. Yeah, it's so nice.
You make good.

Speaker 7 (25:05):
It's letters to Ellen's controlling.

Speaker 1 (25:08):
He doesn't know what she wants.

Speaker 5 (25:10):
I'm been single for five years that I could only.

Speaker 6 (25:12):
Wish that this could happen if you got ready to
wear the ring.

Speaker 11 (25:15):
Hopefully got letters to Ellen every Monday and Wednesday on
the ll and K Morning Show. Coast one oh three
point five, La wakes up with the llen K Morning Show.

Speaker 1 (25:40):
Jasmine? Where are you calling from?

Speaker 6 (25:42):
From?

Speaker 5 (25:42):
Himmett?

Speaker 2 (25:43):
All right, Jasmine? Well, thank you for having us on.
Are you at work or home?

Speaker 1 (25:46):
Where are you?

Speaker 9 (25:47):
I'm at home?

Speaker 1 (25:48):
Okay? Well Jasmine? How was your weekend? Was it great?

Speaker 10 (25:53):
It was good.

Speaker 6 (25:54):
You did some a hunts with the kids and some craft.

Speaker 7 (25:57):
It was a good weekend.

Speaker 1 (25:58):
Oh nice.

Speaker 2 (25:59):
I went about to go old eggs at CPS and
put money in them, and then gave my sons cigars
in a basket and he just loved it.

Speaker 1 (26:06):
So much. The adult Easter bathroom. I love it, he grow.
He said, it's the Easter Bunny of Pimp.

Speaker 11 (26:15):
That was a game scratchers.

Speaker 1 (26:19):
And a bottle of wine.

Speaker 2 (26:21):
Anyway, you're going to the beach. When's the last time
that you went to the beach this Beach Life Festival?

Speaker 6 (26:28):
Probably like last last season.

Speaker 2 (26:31):
Yeah, it's time and it's going to be great. Duran, Duran,
y'all's got the Chainsmokers and more. It's just the lineup
is huge. The music never stops.

Speaker 1 (26:38):
And you were there.

Speaker 6 (26:39):
Oh that's exciting.

Speaker 7 (26:41):
La wakes up with the l K Morning. Shall I
love your station?

Speaker 1 (26:44):
I start my mornings? Did you guys?

Speaker 6 (26:47):
I love listening to you guys in the morning.

Speaker 7 (26:49):
Host one oh three point five.

Speaker 2 (26:50):
It was on this day our first modern Olympic Games
happened eighteen ninety six.

Speaker 1 (26:56):
It began in Athens, Grease.

Speaker 2 (26:59):
We all got our emails because we signed up to
get into the portal to get the tickets and dars.
Yours dropped on Friday, Yes, and then we got ours
on Sunday to get into the queue to buy. So
let's jump ahead to the closing ceremony, shall we? Yeah,
and we're the only k warning shit category A. The
only available ticket left.

Speaker 1 (27:20):
And this is one ticket. You're talking about one ticket
standard ticket.

Speaker 2 (27:23):
Okay, and sixty one dollars.

Speaker 3 (27:28):
Oh why.

Speaker 1 (27:30):
For the closing ceremony? I mean yeah, oh, no show.
Do you think they'll come down?

Speaker 7 (27:34):
What is it a super Bowl?

Speaker 1 (27:36):
That's wild?

Speaker 2 (27:40):
So yeah, no, but there's a twelve ticket maximum per
account across all sports and sessions, with the exception of
football soccer opening closing ceremonies.

Speaker 1 (27:49):
So yeah, there you have it.

Speaker 4 (27:50):
You know, the first games, as you mentioned in Athens,
then we had one event. It was called the Stadion
and it was a It was a run. It was
like a sprint. What that was men only, and they
ran completely naked.

Speaker 2 (28:00):
I know they were naked, but I didn't know it
was once water Yeah, oh I thought they did all
the games naked.

Speaker 4 (28:06):
I mean they did once all the games came. Then
they kept doing everything else naked.

Speaker 2 (28:09):
The first game was steady On. I wouldn't have what
you'd paid modern day to get a ticket to that.
Oh yeah, that will be nine thousand dollars. It was
also on this day the world thirty four years ago
met Barney the Dinosaur.

Speaker 5 (28:27):
I love you, you love me. We're uh happy famly
with a great big up and the kids. From me
to you, won't you say you Love me?

Speaker 1 (28:44):

were the L and K Morning Show. I'm La, I'm
Ryan mana.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
Social queen, Darling producer, micrama, big shut out and thank
you to my son Calvin stopping by early before he
grabbed a flight out of Burbank, which, by the way,
he said, no problem getting in there. There's some construction
on Hollywood Way, so they're big warnings. I mean, I
always like to be early anyway, but they were like,
oh I get there two hours early.

Speaker 1 (29:17):
And he got right in.

Speaker 2 (29:18):
Oh good, So I think today's the first day, so
maybe hadn't kicked in yet, but but be aware of that.
And he got to Silicon Valley, but he stopped by
and brought us Starbucks, like grocery bag full. So he said,
you know, he's trying to get multiples of everything, and
that you know Starbucks, I think they're used to the individual.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
So he said that they weren't what did. He says
that they're not built for scale.

Speaker 10 (29:43):
For scale, they put it all on the big giant bag.
They just threw it all in there.

Speaker 1 (29:49):
But they need a programming update. So thank you, Calvin.

Speaker 2 (29:54):
On Happy birthday to you if you're celebrating today.

Speaker 1 (29:57):
Evelyn's in for Carrie. She's next.

Speaker 2 (30:00):
The Happy birthday to Paul Rudd and he's got the
quote of the day. Anybody that's going on a road
trip and doesn't want to get into a myriad of
snacks and that's probably know when you want to get
in a car with.

Speaker 1 (30:10):
That's great advice, really good.

Speaker 2 (30:12):
Kiss on three, Kiss on Me one D three
