Coast one O three point five.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
Get your Happiness hack pop in. I love this so much.
On this day, something was born and Ryan's going to
tell you all about it.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
Yeah, bubble wrap. Bubble wrap is the best nineteen fifty seven. Oh,
everyone has their own method of popping.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
Well, I just you do the stand on it actually,
but since we're sitting, Yeah, I like to pop with
my feet.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
Okay. So you just bunched it all up and I twisted.
I like to twist individuals.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
Yeah. It's just so satisfying.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
And so you say it was born on this day.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
Nineteen fifty seven, you want me to tell you how
it was born. This bubble wrap was invented by two guys,
Alfred and Mark as textured wallpaper created by sealing two
shower curtains together to trap air bubbles. They wanted it
to be like a cool, like three D wallpaper. Oh,
it like obviously had huge problems because then you touch
it and it pops.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
But I like their futuristic view that they have.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
It failed as wallpaper, but I mean what year was
for fifty seven?

Speaker 1 (07:01):
Oh okay, so these guys are ahead of their time ahead.

Speaker 3 (07:04):
But if we're being honest, it worked out way better
for them as protective packaging, you know, the longevity. But listen,
I looked this up. Popping bubble wrap offers therapeutic benefits.
It's centered on stress relief and sensory satisfaction. It's a
simple repetitive act that helps people manage anxiety, release nervous energy,
and improve their focus.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
At least has built up.

Speaker 3 (07:23):
Muscle tension, nervous energy. It's like using a stress ball
plus the auditory you know ASMR.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
This is why this probably the birth also of the
breakroom where you go break dishes and stuff.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
Yes, it's like the rage rooms.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
So if you have a breakroom at work, even like
your your mailroom, go find some bubble kind of tickling me,
you know.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
Oh uh oh sorry, dark I love it.

Speaker 5 (07:46):
It's the L and K Morning Shell.

Speaker 10 (07:48):
I love her, I love you, I love everybody right
now post.

Speaker 5 (07:53):
Three point five because she's seen a thing or two.

Speaker 4 (07:57):
She is.

Speaker 1 (08:00):

envelope and your situation then goes live on the air.

(08:46):

play this morning. Want to Be Starting Something Michael Jackson.
We're gonna send you to beaches. Okay, you'll have Jerry
Seinfeld in Vegas. And of course more Cash on Coast
coming up. But your letters to Ellen, we love on
this one from Jessica. Like I said, it's about her husband.
She hid something from her husband and now he's upset.

(09:09):
Dear Ellen, I'm a stay at home mom, a full
time house manager, she writes all caps manager. My husband
Mario works hard, and we've agreed that I'm the family
manager and he'll be the breadwinner who gives me a
monthly allowance. I manage the home, the kids, the groceries,
the bills, the endless life stuff. I make it all stretch,
and I'm really good at it. For months, I've been
coming in under budget, so I secretly saved two thousand dollars.

(09:33):
I didn't tell Mario because my girlfriends had planned a
weekend trip to Vegas, and I thought, this is it.
This is my chance to use my hard earned savings
to feel like a person again, not just the one
who buys paper towels and schedules dental appointments. So I
used the savings and had the time of my life
partying and gambling. The good news I won thirty one

(09:54):
hundred dollars. The bad news when I told Mario, he
got furious. He's upset that I didn't tell that. I
squirreled the money away and then took it to Vegas.
Mario says, trust is broken, but I'm exhausted from feeling
like I need permission to Breathe help Jessica. So she
hid something from her husband. Forget about the money or

(10:15):
how much she made. She could have lost it all, whatever,
But she said, I didn't tell Mario because my girlfriends
had planned a weekend trip to Vegas. And I thought,
this is it. So you are a spouse here on
spouse's day and or you know you've got a partner
and you find out they hid something from you, but

(10:35):
then brought it back. Plus and she did save the money.
She's the budgeter. What do you do? Jessica needs our help.
I don't know. What do you think?

Speaker 3 (10:50):
There's a I think the bigger thing. Why aren't you
having this conversation with your husband? Why aren't you telling him?
Like something else is broken at the core the foundation?
Why aren't you telling him you're going to Vegas?

Speaker 2 (10:59):
What's wrong?

Speaker 4 (11:00):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (11:01):
I don't think it wasn't that she didn't say Vegas? Yeah, yeah,
she saved the money. Yeah, so she took the money
to Vegas. He didn't know about the money. Okay, that she.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
Took money see I thought she hid the whole trip
from him.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
Oh no, huh, she knew that it was her chance.
I'm more of a problem that she has a monthly allowance,
like a little controlling. Yeah, but she said, we've agreed
that I'm the family manager and he'll be the breadwinner
who gives you a monthly lonch. So she went into
that agreeing and then she cooked the books. And the books,

(11:37):
oh you know what I mean, she saved two grand.
Good for her. She came in under budget. She just
didn't tell him, and then she took that money to
Vegas and she made magic with it. Here's the thing.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
If they agreed to this, then why does she need
to tell him? You're right, dar, there are no stipulations
on that money. You're right.

Speaker 1 (11:56):
Well, I don't know. She won thirty She's probably excited.
Did she want that much money? And then she told him.
I guess she could have kept it quiet and just
you know, kept her game going. I don't know. She
could have lost it all too though.

Speaker 3 (12:12):
And then, oh my god, imagine if she came home
and told him that, oh oh well.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
Oh but he didn't know. See, he never knew. I know,
this was savings he didn't even know they on the
seat here. It's eight one hundred and nine two nine KOST.
The Causer coming in. You need your help.

Speaker 5 (12:27):

(13:42):

Speaker 9 (13:47):
Our guest is a haircut?

Speaker 1 (13:48):
Haircut? Haircuts make a big difference. I gotta tell you
two guys in the studio right now who are obsessed
with their barbers and their haircuts, and that is Ryan
Manno and producer Mike Romo.

Speaker 2 (14:00):
Mike goes a little more frequently though, he goes once
a week, every ten.

Speaker 1 (14:03):
Days, every ten days. Okay, Ryan, you're like once a month?
I yeah, okay, Yeah. So it's a really great guess. Haircut.
I think it makes a huge difference. It's not the
right answer, but try again.

Speaker 9 (14:14):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (14:15):
Have a great day school guys. Let's go to East La.
She's Nancy getting ready for the slide show teaching English.

Speaker 5 (14:24):
Good morning, good morning.

Speaker 1 (14:27):
So what do you think it is? Nancy?

Speaker 7 (14:29):
Oh, my guess would be having manners, opening doors, being
polite and respectful.

Speaker 1 (14:35):
Yeah, man with this is instantly more attractive, Nancy says manners.
And it's a great guess. It's not the right answer.

Speaker 7 (14:41):
Oh, it's okay, have a great Monday, guys.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
Hey you too, all right, Sharon, Sharon's working two jobs.
You're a reeltor and also social media manager for reeltors. First, yes, yeah,
what if people like now they like the video tours
or what is it that you're putting up on?

Speaker 10 (14:59):
Yeah, they like the video tours, but I know what
they really like just a really interesting is the floor plan?
An old school floor plan be added to things as well.
That's really helps people, you know, because you can see
the different rooms, but until you really see it laid
out in front of you, you don't never really know
how it looks before you get there.

Speaker 1 (15:18):
Little plans are popping. Yeah right, Sharon, Well, thank you
so much for taking time out of your busy morning
to play the llen KQ. And a A man with
this is instantly more attractive. What do you say?

Speaker 10 (15:30):
I think it's like having a sense of purpose.

Speaker 1 (15:33):
A sense of purpose. A man with a sense of purpose,
he knows who he is and where he's going and
where he's not would.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
Just as important to know where you're not going, Like you.

Speaker 1 (15:44):
Wake up and think that's my purpose. I guess you'd
have a clear vision of this is who I am,
and this is what I want to achieve, and this
is who I want in my life. And you are right.
It's a man purpose. Yes, more attractive. You're going to
sign feld in Vegas.

Speaker 9 (16:00):
I love it, Thank you so much.

Speaker 10 (16:02):
I think I have a sense of purpose, so I
must be attractive.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
Of course. This is a whole weekend away at two
night hotel, stay Gas Kart for the road. It is Seinfeldt.
The Colosseum at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas is going
to be amazing.

Speaker 11 (16:16):
Socks are the most amazing ardicle of clothing. They hate
their lives in the shoes, with stinky feet, the boring drawers.
The dryer is their only chance to escape, and they
all know it. They do escape from the dryer. They
plan it in the hamper the night before tomorrow. The dryer.
I'm going.

Speaker 5 (16:32):
It's the L and K Morning Shell.

Speaker 9 (16:33):
It's great listening to you every day.

Speaker 5 (16:35):
You guys like my day Coast one oh three point five.

Speaker 1 (16:38):
All right, dear Ellen. I'm a stay at home mom,
full time house manager. My husband Mario and I agreed
that he would work and that I would manage the house.
That means the bills, the kids, the dental everything. Anyway,
she found a way to save some money, saved up
two thousand dollars because she came in under budget. So

(16:58):
she takes that money to Vegas. Yes, she wins thirty
one hundred dollars, and she's so excited. She said she
felt human again, like she's not just the scheduler and
she's not just the person taking care of the house
and the home and everything. But Mario's furious. She didn't
tell him number one, that she's saving the money. Number two,

(17:19):
that she you know that she was going to take
that money to Vegas. He knew about the Vegas trip.
He was fine with that, it was a girl's weekend,
but he didn't know that she was coming in under budget,
that she saved that much. And then she went and
she could have blown it all. She could have, but
she told him like, hey, I want thirty one hundred dollars.
I'd come in under budget and I saved some money

(17:41):
to go have some fun.

Speaker 3 (17:42):
Going back to her not telling him though, that she
had been squirreling this money away. Why do we withhold
info from people?

Speaker 4 (17:47):
Right?

Speaker 2 (17:48):
We fear their reaction?

Speaker 1 (17:49):
Yes, right?

Speaker 2 (17:51):
So clearly she's conditioned to this guy twisting off.

Speaker 1 (17:54):
Oh so he's a big Maria hot head.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
There's something else going on here.

Speaker 1 (17:58):
M okay, Well, thank you for all your calls. It's
your letters to Ellen. Let's go to Granada Hills, let's
see her. Mary Ann, you have insight for Jessica.

Speaker 9 (18:08):
Oh so, coming from an Italian background and my grandmother.

Speaker 7 (18:13):
This goes back to my grandmother.

Speaker 9 (18:15):
You always have to have a little five stash, and
I think your side stash should.

Speaker 7 (18:20):
Be your business. And it doesn't mean keep it a secret.

Speaker 9 (18:24):
But if she's an adult and he's an adult, he
should be okay with that.

Speaker 7 (18:30):
You never know if someone's gonna up and leave.

Speaker 9 (18:33):
You can't be left without anything. So I say keep
her side stash, cook the books, whatever she needs to do,
and she should have fun, you know. And if he's
loving her, he should support that and he shouldn't have
gotten mad.

Speaker 1 (18:48):
Gotcha. Thanks Marianne, have a wonderful day, love your show.
Thank you Sarah.

Speaker 2 (18:54):
Much to Crystal Ellen.

Speaker 1 (18:56):
Yes, Crystal san dimas the phones are hot for Jessica.

Speaker 9 (19:00):
Uh every woman. I don't care if you a Hollywood starlet,
for you just regular Joe Schmo every woman, and my
father told me this. Every woman should have a stash
that no one knows about except for her woman best
friend in case some baloney happened and you need to flee.
First of all, every woman should have that, whether you're
working or not, or working outside of his home or not.

Speaker 1 (19:20):
Okay them all.

Speaker 9 (19:21):
It's kind of controlling with this little stipend. If he said,
this is your stipend, your play money. Whether she spent
on shoes and Starbucks every month or she put it
away for something else, that's her business. That was her
play money. And she wasn't eating into the kids clothing
money or the light bill or whatever. There shouldn't be nothing.
He knew she was one of me gas, I said,
heyn me and the girls the end of.

Speaker 4 (19:43):
January blah blah blah or the ball.

Speaker 9 (19:46):
She shouldn't have said nothing, but the winning had started
saving for the next trip.

Speaker 11 (19:53):
Thing.

Speaker 4 (19:53):
I lost tracks.

Speaker 1 (19:54):
I lost all right, Chris, your advice, thank you.

Speaker 9 (19:59):
Yes, she should have said, yeah, well.

Speaker 1 (20:01):
You know a lot of people are saying they have
that secret stash on the side. And also, why did
you say anything. You are the budgeter, You met your
budget and you came in under budget. She said that
this was it, this was her chance to finally feel
whole again. And if you're Mario the husband, aren't you
happy for that? Or are you so upset with the

(20:22):
secrecy that you can't see past that that you did.
This is a violation because you kept it from me.
And also, okay, Jessica, like, let's say we're Mario, why
not tell him? Why not say, Hey, I've got this
upcoming trip you know about with the girls, I'm coming
in under budget? Good for me, Yeah, for the family. Yes,
I would like to take that and I'm going to
double our money. And she almost did, and she could

(20:44):
have lost it all, but still it's what she saved
and she feels like a person again.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
Which that's a whole different topic.

Speaker 1 (20:53):
Right, Come on this letter, keep your calls coming, help
me out, Jessica, and we have your secret side stashup.

Speaker 2 (21:00):
You not to tell anyone that's coming up.

Speaker 5 (21:02):
Nex La wakes up with the L and K Morning Show.

Speaker 7 (21:05):

No, I'm not home.

Speaker 1 (21:52):
Okay, all right, Well we're going to put your name
in the hopper and keep our fingers crossed for you.

I'm gonna play it again. Just be listening for that
song whenever you hear it. That's today's song of the day.
From Traffic to Turks and Caicos, from Jams to Jamaica.

Speaker 5 (22:17):
To La wakes up with the llen k Morning Show.

Speaker 9 (22:21):
Thank you for making a smile even on bad days.
You guys always make.

Speaker 5 (22:25):
A smile with good music and good humor and good
loud post one oh three point five.

Speaker 1 (22:28):
Tisca says she's a stay at home mom, a full
time house manager. Her husband Mario works hard. They've agreed
that she's the family manager and he's the breadwinner who
gives her a monthly allowance. So she manages the home,
the kids, the groceries, of the bills, all the life stuff.
And she said she makes it all stretched and she's
really good at it. And for months she's been coming

(22:49):
in under budget. So she's secretly saved two grand and
she had an upcoming trip to Vegas planned with her girlfriends,
so she said, this is it my chance to use
my hard earned savings to I feel like a person again,
not just the one who buys paper towels and schedules
dental appointments. So you just savings. Had the time of
my life partying and gambling. The good news, I won

(23:10):
thirty one hundred dollars. The bad news When I told Mario,
he got furious. He's upset I didn't tell my squirreled
the money away and then took it to Vegas. So
Mario says trust is broken. Jessica says she's exhausted for
feeling like she needs permission all the time. It's good
to Andre Andre thank you. You want to weigh in sill.

Speaker 4 (23:30):
The thing is when you mad, like like I was
mad at my wife when I went to Vegas last weekend.
But I was like, if I win some money, I'm
not gonna be able to tell her, you know. So
it's like because you when you win, you want to
tell somebody, you know, so you wish you could tell
your significant other because there but they might be happy
for you, but you know, a lot of people be

(23:51):
hating on you, you know, so I think that's what happened.

Speaker 1 (23:54):
So when you win in Vegas, you do not tell
your partner because show what take it for me? You
get upset? What is the deal?

Speaker 4 (24:02):
No shoe?

Speaker 3 (24:03):
Shoe?

Speaker 4 (24:03):
She'll get upset. So it's like, you know, like I
didn't win, you know, like you you have all this money.
Now it's kind of like controlling, you know, because he
gives her the money because he pays all the bills.
But I know how she feels when she called him
to tell him, you know, because I know when I
when when I was mad at my wife this weekend,
I tell myself, we're mad at each other, so I'm
not going to call her, Like if I win some money, you.

Speaker 2 (24:24):
Know why were you mad at your wife? What was
going on there?

Speaker 4 (24:28):
It was about the kids. And every time I go
to work in Bay, I work a lot with rappers,
I travel, so every time I go out of town,
she wants to argue with me, and I feel.

Speaker 1 (24:36):
Like she starting to think of she wants to ruin
your time.

Speaker 4 (24:40):
Yeah, have you given her a.

Speaker 1 (24:41):
Reason to not like it when you leave.

Speaker 5 (24:43):
Down with raps?

Speaker 4 (24:45):
Well, I'm a driver, but i'm a personal driver. Yeah,
you know, you know she's just at home with the kids.
So it's a lot.

Speaker 1 (24:52):
I know, we understand. How much did you win?

Speaker 4 (24:58):
It wasn't It was only like maybe six seven hundred.
But see me, don't I don't get to spend four
or five thousand anymore. Like I was single with no kids.
You know it was, but now it's like two three hundred.
I'm upset, you know. Yeah, yeah, Yeah, I love guys.
I love you guys show. I listen to you every day.

Speaker 1 (25:18):
Andre hanging there, I'll be okay.
