Speaker 1 (00:04):
Yeah, all right, let's get to stay on the road.
We're so sorry about the smoking, the air and the fires.
That Sandy fire is fifteen percent contained seventeen hundred acres
and I landed over it last night coming home from
seeing my boy Calvin. Thanks for holding down the fort

(00:25):
and guys, it was so much fun to go up
in and surprise him at work, and then we had dinner, and.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
Then I was at his house.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
He worked from home, so I was doing his laundry
and just mom things like that, and I heard him
on his zoom calls and I know he.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
Goes to work. I know he loves his job.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
I know he has that job, but I'd never heard
him work, and it was really so cool to do
because think of it, like our kids don't see us
work unless it's bring your kids to work totally.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
And he's never gonna share the like Mundane, like, hey,
I was on a zoom call. You know you're never
gonna hear experience it.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
It was a highlight. I told him to you. I said,
hearing you work was a highlight of this surprise.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
Trip, and then I kept hearing his keyboard clicks and
they're really like and I recorded them.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
Whoa why?

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Yes, look so Calvin works in computer I mean he's
an AI. He's up in Silicon Valley. He's clicking away.
Can here's some more?

Speaker 2 (01:29):
Yes, I mean.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
So, I said, you know, I never hear a keyboard anymore.
And he said, oh, mom, it's a Silicon Valley thing.
We compete to see who can have the loudest clicks.
That's what they do. I'm like, come on, are you
messing with me? He said, no, we really do. It's
like a it's like a programmer thing.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
They try to have.

Speaker 4 (01:50):
The loudest, the loudest okay, but the fastness.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
It's like when you hear like you see those like
really intelligent people who can like stack cups or it's
a have you.

Speaker 4 (01:59):
Seen the meme Kermit the frog?

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Calvit the frog?

Speaker 4 (02:09):
Okay, she selling it, okay, and she's taking my day.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
She sell it okay, Okay. I was down the hall.
What is happening? A proud mama clicker. We're gonna go
inside entertainment. It's SHARE's birthday. We are celebrating. Also the

(02:35):
Taylor Swift coming into more drama. I'll tell you about that.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
It's off with the prenup makes you uncomfortable? I would
you have a prenup with the love of her life.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
I guess it's just protection.

Speaker 4 (02:46):
Her lawyer typing.

Speaker 5 (02:46):
It posts one of three point five The ellen k
Morning Show follow ad official post one of three.

Speaker 6 (02:55):
Point five Inside Entertainment with Ellen K.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
Let's go inside. Okay, this is interesting.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
Kim Kardashian seeks compensation from the French thieves that held
her at gunpoint in twenty sixteen.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
Can you believe that was ten years ago?

Speaker 1 (03:12):
They stole nearly ten million worth of her jewelry, most
of it was never recovered. Kim's attorney requested that the
court force each of the robbers pay her a token euro,
which is equivalent to one dollar seventeen cents, And that's
going to happen soon. She's forgiven the ring leader, who
is now into his seventies, that were found guilty a
year ago, and Kim said she was satisfied with the
results and that justice has been served.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
Yeah, what about this one.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
John Krasinski starring in the Amazon Prime movie Jack Ryan,
Ghost War and the NFL awarded Nashville as the host
of Super Bowl fifty four in Let's see That's sixty
four in twenty thirty. Music City anticipates the halftime performers will.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
Be I mean they were really planning way at.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
It's the first time though Nashville has gotten a super Bowl,
and it'll be at the brand new Nissan Stadium which
is still being built.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
Okay, it don't makes sense. And then Shania Twain's ready.

Speaker 3 (04:02):
Also, we have the super Bowl in February this year, guys.
I mean, I feel like that gets buried by I
do too, by the Olympics. Yeah, right right.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Hey.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
The King of Pop, Michael Jackson was also the King
of giving nine hundred million dollars donated to thirty nine organizations.
M J still holds the Guinness record for most charities
supported by a pop star. And the rock bought out
an entire theater so whole school could watch Mohana for free.
So there's a school in the UK and they sent
him a video and they said, we have not seen

(04:31):
Moana and we really want to see it. We love
you the wrong. He responded by renting out the theater.
He also let them all all the kids, their elementary
kids bring their families. He provided all the sweets, the snacks,
the drinks, everything and a video recorded message so they
all get to see Moana.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
They just asked and then he delivered.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
By the way, he was at the one oh one
night market the other day.

Speaker 4 (04:54):
You told this, I was like, hold off stroller on
eating fair food.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
Oh we have more Kim Kardashian. This headline just really
grabbed me. A truck driver has been convicted of smuggling
eight point four million dollars of cocaine in a shipment
of Kim Kardashian brand underwear. So in the skims they
hid the cocaine and the skims and then of course
this truck driver was busted. So Kim Cash's making a
lot of headlines this morning. She's also a big believer

(05:22):
in supplements. She went on a podcast and she said
she takes dozens a day.

Speaker 7 (05:28):
Listen, I take probably thirty five supplement day came, I
spread them out three times a day, and I thought, Okay,
I can't do this fish oil right like anymore?

Speaker 2 (05:39):
I have like pill city thirty five? Is that how
I cannot campy?

Speaker 1 (05:45):
And also, you know when you when you take like
vitamins and then your stomach feels weird, and then you're
just I don't know.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
It's just kind of like a Kim Win cash on
kind of back down. Okay, let's win. What do the
Dodgers need to do?

Speaker 4 (06:01):
They need to win.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
That's your keyword.

Speaker 3 (09:08):
It's a health trend that costs absolutely nothing. Going barefoot
more often. New research out of Harvard has proven that
spending time without your shoes at home, even at work,
if you're allowed, improves your happiness. Of course, your you're
physical like the balance posture, your foot strength by letting
your muscles move naturally in your feet. Mentally, we feel calmer,
more grounded when barefoot, especially after long hours and restrictive shoes.

(09:32):
Like when you guys get home, and you've talked about
this on the air, the first thing you do as
women is take off your bra and it's like the
greatest fans freedom.

Speaker 8 (09:39):
Freedom.

Speaker 4 (09:40):
So think of that same feeling for your feet.

Speaker 1 (09:42):
I have a friend who when she's driving with one hand,
she can take off her bra while she's driving.

Speaker 4 (09:47):
That's impressive. How do you do that?

Speaker 2 (09:49):
I don't know. That's crazy stuff, but yeah.

Speaker 3 (09:54):
Researchers believe sensory feedback from the floor helps reduce your stress,
improve your body awareness. Our feet, you guys, are not
designed to stay cushioned all day.

Speaker 4 (10:02):
They're meant to flex and adept. Okay, no you're not
in No, I'm just minor off.

Speaker 2 (10:54):

the Padres thanks to two dingers from Freddie Freeman and
a brilliant ninth inning piece of hitting by Pahes given
a sole possession of first place by half eight game
Rubbert match this evening in San Diego, five forty first
pitch and Netflix's roast of Kevin Hart drew thirteen and
a half million viewers. It came out on Mother's Day.

(11:15):
It's the number one show on Netflix right now. That
rose to airing on May tenth. Part of Netflix continued
push into live comedy events and the TSA explaining their
strange reasoning for permitting rotesserie chickens in a carry on.
They have a strict ban on a number of items
and going through airport security, as you know, but one
thing's surprisingly lenient on is rotesserie chickens.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
Who would have thought?

Speaker 1 (11:37):
They said that you can pack those chicken into into
your onboard carry on luggage when traveling. People often take snacks,
and they said, rotesserie chickens are just buying as long as.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
They can fit into your carry on.

Speaker 1 (11:50):
People quick to react to their social media post and

Speaker 1 (12:29):
Roberto wrote us a letter and it says, Dear Ellen,
my wife and I've been married for eight years. We
have two kids, a house full of laundry, and a
decent life together. Recently, she started a new job and
got really close with one of her co workers. She
calls him her work husband and says it's just jokes
and harmeles fun. At first I laughed about it, but

(12:49):
now she's texting him outside of work, giggling at everything
he says, like he's the funniest man alive, and even
facetimed him while we were on a family trip to Disneyland.
I finally told her it started to feel and she said,
I'm insecure. Last week she asked if he could come
with us on our summer vacation to Big Beer.

Speaker 2 (13:06):
I thought she was kidding, and she wasn't.

Speaker 1 (13:08):
She said he doesn't have a family or anyone and
he's lonely, he could.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
Use a break.

Speaker 1 (13:14):
I said, absolutely not. The supposed to be our family time,
not family plus Steve. So now she's mad and said
I was being controlling, and I told her it's not
about friends, it's about boundaries. So is it crazy to
invite your work husband on a family vacation? Please help Roberto.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
Lonely?

Speaker 3 (13:34):
I mean, you got to feel bad for the guy,
but that's not her responsibility to improve his you know,
social circle.

Speaker 2 (13:42):
Do you think he's more than a work husband.

Speaker 3 (13:44):
I don't know if it's gotten there yet, but I
think it's inappropriate. Plus, I don't I've never loved the
term like you and I have worked together for you know,
a long time. We've never referred to each other as that. Right,
We're just really good friends that love each other and
work together.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
Right. You would never, I would never marry you.

Speaker 4 (14:00):
No, could you imagine? Holy moly?

Speaker 8 (14:04):

Speaker 2 (14:05):
By the way, Oh, I knew that was coming. I
asked for it. That's fine, right, But what does Roberto do?
His wife is super close with this poor lonely Steve
at work. It is her work husband.

the Sandy fire. And see me seventeen hundred acres five
percent contained. Seemi Valley schools remain close today until further notice,
nearly fifty thousand residents under mandatory EVAK orders. We also
have the bainfire in Europa Valley and the Verona fire
in Riverside, all of them creating unhealthy air quality. You

(20:35):
can smell it to the tireless crews on the ground
and in the air.

Speaker 2 (20:38):
We say thank you so much.

Speaker 1 (20:40):
And Orange County, are you ready for it? Air one
is finally coming your way. It's Air one. The high
end supermarket announcing its first OC plans, a storing coast
of Mesa set to open next September.

Speaker 2 (20:51):
As in twenty twenty seven.

Speaker 1 (20:52):
It's going into the former t shirts warehouse location on seventeenth.

Speaker 2 (20:57):
And what about this?

Speaker 1 (20:57):
The two American tourists who broke into Punch the Monkey's
viral enclosure at the Tokyo Zoo have been arrested and id'd.
Apparently they're influencers that influence, though not cool. Speaking of animals,
big beer eaglets nearly fully feathered. They are growing so fast.
Sandy and Luna are tall. They are large and in charge,
and they are getting along so well. So Mama Jackie

(21:21):
looking on as those full feathered they're all in dark,
dark feathers right now, but how cool they're going to
be flying soon.

Speaker 2 (21:27):
And the Dodger is picking.

Speaker 1 (21:28):
Up a clutch win over the Padres thanks to two
dingers from Freddie Freeman and a brilliant ninth inning piece
of hitting by Andy Payes, given a sole possession of
first place.

Speaker 2 (21:37):
By half a game. That's great stuff.

Speaker 1 (21:39):
Rubber match this evening in San Diego, five forty first pitch,
and our hottest day of the week is today, nudging
up to eighty red flags still in place. We start
cooling gradually by tomorrow. That's going to help the firefighters
through the holiday weekend. Bell Bellflower going up to eighty
eight and ninety eight respectively.

Speaker 2 (21:56):
And right now it is sixty.

Speaker 1 (21:57):
Five in Burbank kost Angelus's Coast one of three point five.
More of your cash on coast and your Disney four

Hi, this is Taylor Swith This is Post belone, this
is Miley Cyrus, and you're listening to the Ellen k
Morning Show on Coast one oh three point five.

Speaker 1 (22:14):
We are still getting so many calls about our letter
to Ellen from Roberto. Roberto's wife has a work spouse
named Steve, and she's lit up when Steve came along.

Speaker 2 (22:26):
He makes her laugh.

Speaker 1 (22:28):
She facetimed him from a family trip to Disney, which
wasn't very cool.

Speaker 2 (22:32):
But he's he's just you know, he's put a new
pep in her step and she really likes him. But
he's all alone in this big city. So she invited him.

Speaker 1 (22:41):
She wants to invite him to their family summer vacation
in Big Bear, and Roberto's not having it. Most of
you have called and said, yeah, I'm team Roberto, so
let's go to Augustina.

Speaker 2 (22:58):
I wonder what you think, Augustina.

Speaker 12 (23:00):
I strongly believe a Bertel is in the right.

Speaker 2 (23:03):
Yeah, there are some lines that you just don't.

Speaker 12 (23:06):
Cross exactly, Yes, and she definitely crossed it. Yeah, he
has every right to feel the way he feels.

Speaker 1 (23:14):
Right, if someone would come to me and say, hey,
you know, see my husband comes to me, my work
wife is coming on our family vacation in Big Bear,
I'd be like, what I think?

Speaker 3 (23:23):
Even if it was a friend you knew, you guys
knew or shared he said, hey, I want to invite
so and so on our family.

Speaker 4 (23:29):
That would still be weird. Yeah, someone that you really
knew well together.

Speaker 1 (23:32):
What if I go to my husband and say Ryan's
coming with us on vacation, right, He'd be like, he is,
I mean he loves Ryan, sure.

Speaker 4 (23:42):
But but that's your family vacation, right.

Speaker 1 (23:45):
And we have all these family like we have our
own family language and all these family things.

Speaker 12 (23:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (23:51):
Yeah for Roberta, Yeah, she's she's really taken with this
work husband and says it's innocent.

Speaker 12 (23:57):
I don't want to say it's not. But still it's
like the boundaries where you can't just include your your
work husband or wife in which every family function you have.

Speaker 1 (24:07):
Yeah, definitely, Well, thank you, thanks so much for calling
and listening.

Speaker 12 (24:11):
Oh thank you so oh listen they're all twenty four
hours a day. Thanks tell you. I love you guys.

Show text us anytime I've won, oh three.

Speaker 1 (25:00):
Five And Monday Wednesday, we read your letters to Alan.
Roberto wrote to us he's having a problem. His wife
has a work husband named Steve. So, Sophie, thank you
so much. We read Roberto's letter. His wife is getting
a little too close to the work husband and now
wants him to come on their big bear summer vacation.

Speaker 2 (25:22):
So how are you feeling?

Speaker 10 (25:25):
So I agree with it's probably a good portion of
society that I don't think it's appropriate for her to
have a work husband and go on a trip. But
if she had said this nice gentleman, he's wonderful, has
no family, and he's my work brother and got it
that way, and he had a significant other, and is

(25:49):
kind of like making him feel inclusive because he's new
to the area and has nobody that would be different.
But a work husband is inappropriate, okay.

Speaker 2 (25:59):
Cause she already has a husband and his name.

Speaker 10 (26:00):
Is Roberto exactly, and he has to have his feelings
validated in her because that's her real husband.

Speaker 2 (26:08):
Yes, eight years.

Speaker 10 (26:11):
Which is a long time, right. I love you, We
listened to every morning. We love you all, and we
love your topics. It's so helpful, and we love your games,
and we love you.

Speaker 2 (26:22):
Oh, we love you back.

Speaker 10 (26:24):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 12 (26:25):
Have a great day you too.

Speaker 2 (26:27):
Yeah. No one suggested that work brother like com a
work husband.

Speaker 4 (26:30):
No one has ever.

Speaker 3 (26:31):
I've never heard that term work brother. That might go
fly better with more people.

Speaker 1 (26:35):
So and also does she want her husband to be upset?
Oh that could be like it's I feel like she's
really digging in. Yeah, yeah, keep your calls coming. It's
eight hundred and ninet two nine kost.

Speaker 2 (26:48):
Thanks for helping Roberto.

Speaker 6 (26:49):
