Speaker 4 (04:28):
Well, Miley Cyrus is getting her star on the Hollywood
Walk of Fame tomorrow at eleven thirty. Think Hollywood in
Highland and she will be there. So just go, like,
just go to Hollywood in Highland. You'll see they're closing
the streets and you're gonna just walk in. And she
is officially the first person born in the nineteen nineties
and after to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk
(04:51):
of Fame. Yeah, isn't that a cool stat seven thousand
and one Hollywood Boulevards. So Miley does it tomorrow. I'll
be hosting to tell a VERSACEI and Anya Taylor Joy
are her besties who will be there for the resties
and they're going to get up and speak for her
as well. That's pretty cool. Hey, Betty Boop is going
to be a movie. Quinta Bronson is developing it and
(05:12):
she will star. She's always loved Betty Boop, grew up
with Betty Boop. She said, her mom and her grandmother
loved Betty Boop, so now she's going to bring it
to the big screen. And Michael Jackson's ex bodyguard, Matt
Fittis says that Michael was getting death threats over his
music catalog and other artists would call him and try
to get some of his music and then like verbally
abuse him on the phone until he cried no.
Speaker 3 (05:33):
I know.
Speaker 4 (05:34):
So whenever the bodyguards or the chef or whoever speaks out,
like you know, they saw a lot of stuff. And
so this guy saying that he is contributing and working
with the Jackson family on Michael Part two. So they're
getting ready to film that second sequel. That's going to
be super cool. And what about this. Zoe Kravitz and
Harry Styles are thinking of having a small wedding in
(05:55):
front of just family and close friends in the UK.
They're going to do it around Christmas time. Maybe we
can get Harry to flip to Christmas music and then
he can marry Zoe. And Jessica Simpson is getting a
lot of heat. This is what happened. She goes to
Hawaii with the whole family, she has kids, she flies home,
(06:15):
she's in first class, her kids are in coach. The
story first came out after her ex husband Nick Lache
mentioned the awkward reunion because he saw her, you know,
in first class, and so he mentions that right. Simpson
said the seating arrangement was not her decision.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
This is what she explained, Internet, debate your kids, your
kids sitting in coach while you're sitting in first class.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
Did you see that my mom bought us tickets?
Speaker 2 (06:40):
Okay, well I exclaimed it.
Speaker 1 (06:41):
But if you bought it, she dressed got it.
Speaker 8 (06:46):
Okay, if you bought it, they.
Speaker 4 (06:47):
Sit with you, Okay, she says, of course. So I
heard that her baby daddy Eric was sitting with the
kids and coach.
Speaker 1 (06:56):
And that's fine.
Speaker 4 (06:58):
I think it's fine. And also maybe she does don't
want her kids to be spoiled like that. And if
she sits back there, she's gonna not even be able
to pay attention to anything because everyone's going to ask
her for photos and stuff. That's just what I was thinking. Yeah,
but you know what she could have done because D's
used to always have first class seats and I would ye,
(07:19):
so sometimes he would if he's traveling with his wife,
she would swap out with us. Oh yeah, like he
was like, hey, they're going to serve lobster.
Speaker 3 (07:28):
Do you come up here?
Speaker 4 (07:33):

five and we love giving you your happiness hack barbecue weekend. Yep,
And I know a lot of that hill was on
at your house, Darlene. I consider your husband an expert
bbqre Yeah, he's a girl man for sure.
Speaker 7 (09:20):
He barbecued New York steaks yesterday.
Speaker 4 (09:22):
Oh nice. All right, Well, if you want to be
real happy with your barbecue, your happiness hack is marinate
your meat and pineapple juice for thirty minutes before cooking.
The bromolane enzyme breaks down tough protein fibers and gives
you the most tender meat you have ever cooked. Have
you ever tried it?
Speaker 7 (09:42):
I know my husband barbecue's pork with pineapple.
Speaker 4 (09:46):
Okay, that sounds great.
Speaker 7 (09:48):
Yeah, like New York steaks yesterday. He marinated the with
Italian dressing.
Speaker 4 (09:53):
Oh that's interesting.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (09:55):
Yeah. They say this pineapple juice that because it has
the bromoline in it, the enzyme's that those enzymes actually
like get right, in there and make it super tender.
Has anyone ever barbecued a lobster?
Speaker 7 (10:07):
My husband just did for mother's ease.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
He did.
Speaker 4 (10:09):
Oh, how did it go so good? Okay, I need
to call him and get his tips because my husband,
Roy just texted me this morning. So I'm going to Ralph's.
I'm going to buy a lobster. We're going to barbecue it.
Speaker 1 (10:18):
You knows how to do this.
Speaker 4 (10:19):
I don't know how to do it. He doesn't know
how to do it. If anyone knows how to do it,

Shout out to everyone lining up for the Mandalorian Grogu
movie at TCL Chinese Theater. They're listening to us right now.
We're so honored that you have us on in the
fore court and we are Coast one of three point
five top stories top of the hour. Good morning, I'm
ellen Kine. That wave of wildfire is continuing to burn
right now across our Southland. Cruise have the biggest the
(10:53):
Sandy fire, and see me twenty two percent contained. They're
making some nice progress overnight. The Verona and bainfires and
rivers nearing thirty percent containment, and we heard it was coming,
but now we finally have the date. Disneyland a lighting
guest by getting rid of that pesky eleven a m
rule to hop between parks, and it starts on June ninth.
This is great. We are your home for Disneyland. Four
(11:15):
packs more winning coming off just ahead. It's going to be.
It's going to be a really good new rule that
they are taken away and Shoho Tani has forced his
way into the National League. Cy Young Conversation after just
eight starts for the Dodgers. The numbers are too strong
to dismiss early season noise. Our Tani owns a point
seven three eer through eight starts, along with a four
(11:36):
to two record and fifty four strikeouts and forty nine innings.
Way to go show. That argument grew louder when he
threw five scoreless innings against San Diego last night, allowing
three hits striking out four as the Dodgers earned a
four to h shut out win over the Padres. And
a brand new global survey just said that the favorite
pizza chain for taste is old School. It's your classic
(11:58):
pizza Hut. The survey was aducted by market Force Information,
asking thousands of consumers which pizza just tastes? The best
pizza had come out at number one. Domino's follows and
second Papa John's bringing up the trail with third and
we stay sunny. Warman Wendy Hies in the upper eighties.
That is a red flag, nice cool down coming tomorrow
to help our firefighters through the long holiday weekend. Culver City,
(12:22):
you have eighty today. Covina, you go to eighty eight
and right now it's sixty two in Burbank it's Kost,
Los Angeles and coming up more cash on coast. You've
got Journey tickets for you too. It's a Thursday ticket takeover.
Just get a sprinkle tickets all over the place, Double Disney,
Double Journey, lots of dollars, keep video to win. And
we're the L and K Morning Show, and we were
(12:42):
talking about this earlier. These are like normal things that
feel embarrassing for no logical reason. And so it was,
you know, just people were asked all throughout the nation,
what is it that you do that's like a normal thing,
but you feel slightly embarrassing doing it? Like you just
get that feeling I'm embarrassed, Can I guess.
Speaker 7 (13:01):
Can it be when you're on your phone in a
waiting room, for example, Yes, and like a video goes
on it it's really loud.
Speaker 4 (13:08):
Yes, Yes, that happens to me.
Speaker 10 (13:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (13:12):
Well, these are some of the responses that you've been
telling us. Trying to parallel parking a type space, Oh yeah,
it is. You feel like everyone's watching you, and then
you've got to back it up, man, that kind of okay.
What about this one trying on shoes at the store. Really, yeah,
I don't mind that if you have holy socks or something,
you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (13:31):
No, I throw holy socks away.
Speaker 4 (13:33):
Okay, I know. Same here my chaopter game perfect? All right?
What about this going through the TSA checkpoint at the airport?
That could be because maybe you're just not ready and
then you're like halfway getting undressed. You've got a belt on,
and then you've got to empty your pockets and then
you forget you know that kind of thing.
Speaker 7 (13:50):
Yeah, your toenails are maybe not.
Speaker 4 (13:54):
Opening presents in front of other people. I could see
that one and sitting there while the restaurant staff sings
Happy Birthday. People have told us that is the most
embarrassing for no real reason. It's just that it just
makes you get that feeling. So we've been getting a
lot of calls about it. Your embarrassing moments, Jasmine. So
you say you were on a date, first date, you're
(14:14):
at Zuma Beach and you're with this guy. And then
what the guy was on a date.
Speaker 3 (14:21):
With was wearing like these really thin like pants. I
don't know what type of material it would be like.
I think it's like, yes, yes, like linen pants, and
that's all fine. You know, we're at the beach. I'm
also wearing something that's kind of flowy whatever.
Speaker 9 (14:41):
But he takes his pants.
Speaker 3 (14:42):
Off and under his pants it's like the smallest speedle
I've probably ever seen, smaller than my bathing sit.
Speaker 4 (14:51):
Was it like lost up the butt like that, or
was it just tiny, like like tiny all of the aboves,
oh my god, and he was walking around like that
or just you guys, just son baby. Maybe he just
wanted to get a lot of sun.
Speaker 3 (15:04):
He was up inactive and laying in the sun and
in the wave. We were all over the beast.
Speaker 4 (15:09):
It was almost kind of embarrassing, I would say. So
I'd be like, could you put your pants back on?
Will you see him again?
Speaker 3 (15:20):
That's what I need advice on him, Like do you
think I should see him again? Or is this a
red flag?
Speaker 4 (15:25):
I mean, do we really judge him on his pitting suit?
Maybe we do?
Speaker 1 (15:34):
Oh man, what do we do if his you know, if.
Speaker 4 (15:40):
His cheeks are showing more than hers? Yeah, something like
reconsider what does Jasmine do?
Speaker 1 (15:48):
Hell?
Speaker 4 (15:48):
We look, it's thevery Thursday. Give us a call. It's
eight hundred and ninety nine chaos. Does she see him again?
I feel bad because maybe maybe it's a cultural thing
for him, you know, and maybe his friends all do it.
I don't know that we should judge him by his
cheeks hanging out.
Speaker 7 (16:06):
It's my cousin in Ecuador came to visit us one
summer and they don't wear the orderant over there.
Speaker 4 (16:10):
Okay, and he smelled really strong. Okay.
Speaker 7 (16:14):
So I remember picking up my husband at the time
and I looked at him like, don't say okay, yeah
like my cousin. Yeah, my cousin had no clue, like
he was clueless.
Speaker 4 (16:24):
And maybe this guy's clueless. I think if Jasmine, I
think that you should give him at least another chance
to see what as a parel is? But call us
at eight hundred and ninety two nine KOST Coast one.
Speaker 1 (16:34):
Oh three point five.

and in Sino on Havenhurst?
Speaker 3 (18:55):
Actually we're about a mile away, and we used to
see him come in and out of the gates so
often and have our moms break every law to try
and follow.
Speaker 4 (19:04):
Oh my gosh, Okay, did you ever see him walking
his lama on Havenhurst?
Speaker 3 (19:10):
No? I did see him just kind of wave his
glove once, and I was so excited because I was
about thirteen years old.
Speaker 4 (19:16):
Oh my god, that is so because I think he
used to do that out of his car window. He'd
wear the glove he did.
Speaker 3 (19:24):
And I hear that place is haunted.
Speaker 4 (19:26):
Oh really, I hadn't heard that.
Speaker 3 (19:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (19:30):
Well, if I'm going to see Michael Jackson there, I'm going.
Speaker 3 (19:34):
Oh, I totally would.
Speaker 4 (19:35):
Well, so what's your guest? Stacey of Vincino. Twenty percent
of all adults in a relationship have done.
Speaker 3 (19:40):
What I think it's break up?
Speaker 4 (19:43):
Oh, break up? Okay, that's a great guess. A lot
of people are saying break up. It is not the
right answer. Oh shoot, okay, okay, try and again, have
a great day.
Speaker 11 (19:54):

us for Therapy Thursday. Sarah Dash, our therapist stopping buy
to tackle your troubles every Thursday, and Daddy Darren has
(21:26):
a big one. He left us this.
Speaker 11 (21:28):
I'm a doubt. I've got five kids, they're all grown up.
Two of them have had really horrible relationships with their
partners or whatever. They've come back. They're adults. They're living
here now and I'm happy they're here. But it costs
a fortune to have everybody under one roof, and nobody's
even asking me if they can help out financially. I
(21:50):
want to communicate with them. I love them and I'm
always going to try to be there for them, but
at this point they're adults and I'm just a way
to ask them, could they please also help support themselves.
Speaker 4 (22:04):
For Darren, do you see a lot of this in
your practice?
Speaker 5 (22:07):
I do see some of this in my practice, and
it's what I'm hearing is that this relationship has shifted
from love to one of obligation adult relationships, parents and children.
What you hope happens is there's going to be this
really beautiful metamorphosis into reciprocity, mutuality, and sometimes boundaries need
(22:30):
to be renegotiated.
Speaker 6 (22:32):
Oh wow, Is it as simple as just calling a
family meeting and saying, guys, I love you, but we
need to talk. We just have to have a talk.
And it might be hard for him to even bring
up but is that the best way.
Speaker 5 (22:42):
I think that's absolutely the best way. I think that
in those types of conversations, he's going to want to
lead with love and affection. I really love you, I
love having you in the house. I'm not asking you
to leave, but I can't sustainably manage the financial obligations
that I find.
Speaker 4 (23:03):
Myself under it. And why do you suppose two out
of the five who moved back in with Daddy, Darren,
why do you suppose they're not thinking, Wow, I should
help Dad like he's letting me stay under his roof.
It's unfortunate what happened. It's not like a failure to lunch.
They had, their relationship didn't work out. Now they're back,
But why aren't they thinking instead of this is my
(23:23):
safe haven, I should be helping out and pitching in.
Speaker 5 (23:26):
What happens is that people will mistake generosity for limitless capacity.
And this happens all the time. It happens in friendships,
family relationships. Someone's very generous and the person to whom
the generosity is being extended thinks it's limitless capacity. They
may very well not see him for who he is
(23:49):
at this time in his life, but as the father,
he probably did hold himself out as the provider the caretaker,
which is completely appropriate when someone.
Speaker 4 (23:59):
Is ten, but not job.
Speaker 3 (24:06):
Is different from ten.
Speaker 4 (24:09):
That's so true. Okay, well, so it's it's okay, it's reciprocity, mutuality.
It is Therapy Thursday. We are now a podcast. Uh
so all you do is go to Ellen K's Therapy
Thursday on the iHeart app or wherever you listen to
your podcasts, and it's powered by air Tasker dot com.

(24:29):
hire an air tasker to move his kids out. Yeah,

called my wife instead that I was having lunch with
some strange woman.
Speaker 6 (24:46):

Speaker 4 (24:46):
I was wearing a white sweatshirt ready for Teddy Swims
to come by the studio here at the ellen k
Morning Show. And the coffee dripped right down the front
of my sweatshirt. Oh no, thank you Darlene for your
snoopy sweatshirt because I put it right. But stuff happens,
right And you've been calling us all morning a you know,
(25:08):
a little little oopsies, the womp wamp of life. And
all you got to do is just go with it.
We found a solution. You can always find a solution,
but sometimes those those embarrassing things happen. And Brendan, thank
you so much for your call. You had something super
embarrassing happening. What was it?
Speaker 9 (25:28):
It was my first day of college and I was
in a physical fitness aka gym class and I was
on a treadmill and there was like a Q crown
next to you, and I tried running fast and I
fell off the treadmill and I don't know if you've
ever done that, but you kind of go in to
shock a little bit. And I tried to get back
on it and then it shot me off again.
Speaker 4 (25:47):
No, yeah, yeah, it doesn't shoots you off. Were you
on all fours behind the treadmill? At one point?
Speaker 9 (25:54):
I was like all sick, like I was a hands kneed?
Speaker 1 (25:57):
But yep, what did the girl do or say?
Speaker 9 (26:02):
She just looked at me like, who's this guy next
to me? And I think, you know, she was one
of those girls We're like, oh, here we go again.
Speaker 4 (26:09):
Oh, like she's gonna get hit on again?
Speaker 1 (26:12):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (26:12):
Yeah, you know what if I were her, she I
would think that'd be adorable. And then you just, uh,
you know, you get to you get to meet him.
Speaker 8 (26:21):

Speaker 10 (28:25):
So find a place for yourself. Whatever talent or ambition
you have, find some way to put it to work.
Build something that didn't exist yesterday. Stand up for someone
you can't stand up for themselves. Bring people together who
weren't talking before. That's leadership. That's what moves the needle.
Speaker 4 (28:50):
A go Kirsten, Go grads, and thank you for having
us on here. The only game winning Joe.
