oh hi, I'm righting Madow and welcome to our show.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
We're all about music, money and fine.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
I loved watching this engagement, the videos and the photos
of Justin Herbert hoisting Madison Beer on your shoulder.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
What did you feel when you saw that?

Speaker 4 (00:43):
As a what?

Speaker 1 (00:44):
I just feel like, what woman wouldn't want to be
hoisted over the shoulder of her man?

Speaker 2 (00:50):
I know, and carried away like that?

Speaker 3 (00:53):
I think for men it had a kind of a
different effect. Oh really, you're like, God, could you just
like lower the bar a little bit?

Speaker 2 (01:01):
Like he's perfect?

Speaker 1 (01:03):
No, every woman loves a good hoist.

Speaker 5 (01:08):
You've fought it's so e see the fall in Love
with the Allen Case Show, and start a day with us.
You love the music every weekday Ellen, kiss you and
a lots of fun on show. You'll agree it's like

(01:32):
heaven listening to elm the llenkme on and show, Raggan Darling,
Mike the Llen came on and show.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
So let's hoist this morning right over your shoulder, justin
Herbert's style.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
And coming up, we're gonna go inside entertainment. Ryan.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
Look what I found in the kitchen last night. Go okay,
this is Calvin's retro Spider Man straw from seven to eleven.
We went in there to get slurpees and this straw
is probably fifteen twenty years old.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
Oh my gosh, this is childhood Spider Man straw.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
Of course I loved it. Of course you kept it.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
Of course I did.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
And it was just staring back at me because I
have like a jar and it's got all the the
you know, the reusable straws, the metal straws, and this
one was in there with it, and I thought, wow,
that's so cool Calvin Spider Man straw.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
So I was thinking about Spider Man. We're gonna talk
about him. Coming up. Tom Holland had.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
A really super awkward moment with a bunch of school
kids and he was left speechless.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
We'll get into that. We're gonna go Inside Entertainment next.

Speaker 6 (02:41):
Post one of three point five The ellen K Morning Show.
Follow at official ellen K post one of three point
five Inside Entertainment with ellen K.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
This is exciting.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
Mcauleay Kulkin is allegedly and talks about bringing Kevin McAllister
back with a Disney's Home Alone reboot. He's been having
some meetings. He has some great ideas. He initiated the meetings.
So he met with Walt Disney Studios executives right here
in Burbank to discuss potential creative directions to jumpstart the
film branch.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
Would he you think, I mean, just obviously you don't know,
speculating would he be the dad this time?

Speaker 1 (03:16):
Maybe that would be a great idea. Yeah, yeah, I hope.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
So.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
So we'll see when we get more information on that. Okay,
Toxic Love Story is this amazing documentary and it's on
Netflix and it's about a twenty sixteen cyberstalking case out
of Anaheim. So Michelle Hadley was arrested and put in
jail for eighty days after her ex boyfriend Ian Diaz
and his fiancee Angela framed her. They framed her big time.

(03:44):
This Angela faked pregnancy with twins to keep Ian you.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
Know, in her you know, in her world.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
And then Ian and Angela were making these fake threats
toward Angela to put Michelle in jail. Anyway, if you
haven't seen it yet, a Toxic Love Stories on Netflix.
So anyway, this girl who wrongly was imprisoned settled with
Anaheim police for one point eight million dollars after she

(04:14):
sued the city for sloppy rush police work because Ian
used his influence as a US marshal at the time. So,
I mean, it is twisty attorney. And it's just such
a really great watch. Like, if you want to see
The Odyssey on the big screen, you better bring an
EPIX sized wallet. Christopher Nolan's latest blockbuster continues its incredible run,
pulling in more than six hundred and fifty million worldwide.
Even more impressive ticket sales barely slowed down. Many imax

(04:38):
theaters and seventy millimeters screens are around twenty five.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
In the country.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
Are doing seven am screenings, they're doing two in the morning,
They're they're just adding as many shows, and some of
these theaters are creating a secondary ticket marker where seat market,
where seats are being resold for as much as five.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
Hundred dollars each.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
But the big one this weekend is going to be
Spider Man's so Amazon Prime members have the benefit of
seeing Spider Man Brand New Day before anyone else in
select theaters nationwide. Brand New Day will screen only for
Prime Members. Tickets for tonight's show times available at fandango,
So look that up if you want to see it.
It's gonna come out in forty three hundred theaters four
hundred and sixty five million dollars globally. I hear that

(05:21):
the storyline is incredible, like this is the best one yet.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
Some of the harshest critics really that aren't even fans
of the Marvel universe are saying this knock my socks off.

Speaker 1 (05:31):
Yeah, you know what else knocks the socks off. Tom
Holland sat down with some kids. He fielded a tough
question on a YouTube show listen.

Speaker 7 (05:40):
Are you married?

Speaker 2 (05:42):
That is a very important question, and I am you.
Guys obviously haven't been media trained.

Speaker 8 (05:48):
Like.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
This is Victor and he's never heard of a publicist.

Speaker 7 (05:53):
He's definitely married. I don't know what he avoided my question.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
Oh so awkward. So good, and we've got your cash.
It's the first chance of the day at one thousand dollars.
All you have to do is enter one little word
and then you wait for it.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
It's one thousand dollars. It's fun. It's fun to win.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
It's fun to enter the word fun online Coast one
of three five dot com.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
Put that word in there. It is fun. You can
also enter on the contest tab on the iHeart app.

Hosts one o three point five The llen K Morning
Show textas anytime at five to one oh three five.

I lay down at night with you guys. I wake
up in the morning with you guys. I just wanted
to say thank you guys so much for everything that
you guys do.

Speaker 4 (07:51):
Post one oh three point five it's.

Speaker 2 (07:54):
Called Sacred Water. It's twelve dollars.

Speaker 1 (07:56):
It's at Erawon and Jimmy Kimmel asks people on the
street if they like Arawan's new twelve dollars sacred Water.
Spoiler alert, it was actually just water out of a
hose from their back lot.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
Another ish like very like strong like presence to.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
It, I'd feel like a little bit cucumber vibe.

Speaker 14 (08:14):
I feel like I'm getting a little bit of the
mouth feel of oatmeal, Like it's a little bit weightier
than just regular water, Like it's hugging the tongue. So
I enjoy drinking wine, but I've never tasted water in
the same way.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
So, oh, okay, So is this the suggestion that this
is hose water. But there's the suggestion that it's sacred
water makes you feel and tastes things like I don't
think they were lying, No, someone saying tones of violet. Yeah,
the consistency of oatmeal. Maybe it's just that the mind

(08:49):
is that powerful.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
And look what we're willing to do for it, will
empty our wallet for it.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
If you've tried the sacred water and you taste it something,
let us know. And your happiness hack is coming up next.

Speaker 3 (09:03):
How to turn our morning commute into a stress relieving game.
How many minutes do you think we play this game? Ellen,
I don't know. Four five.

Speaker 4 (09:15):
ELLENK Morning Show.

Speaker 10 (09:17):
You guys. I listen to you guys every morning with
my clients.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
They asked for the Allen K Morning Show host.

Speaker 4 (09:22):
One oh three point five.

Speaker 1 (09:25):
Everything's easier when you make it into a game, right,
So it's your happiness hack.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
Yeah, it's a tiny brain game that can pull you
out of your funk if you're in a funk. And
I know this is gonna sound it's it sounds so simple,
almost elementary, but that's why it works.

Speaker 2 (09:39):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
Science says, go on a color hunt. All right, so
we pick one color. Let's say, Okay, that's been the
next four or five minutes as you're driving trying to
spot every yellow thing around you, so a sign, a flower,
a traffic light, the crime scene tape, a fire hydrant,
whatever it is. New research has proven searching for a

(10:02):
specific color activates something called selective attention. Basically, you're giving
your busy brain one simple job that isn't all of
the other things that you're thinking of.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
That's great, and then this stress just melts away.

Speaker 3 (10:11):
Mindful, that's exactly right now. And mindfulness experts use a
site like a color as an anchor to bring you
back to the present moment. And it doesn't mean you're
ignoring your problems. You just like think of it as
like changing in the channel for a minute.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
Oh and I love that you chose the color yellow.

Speaker 3 (10:24):
You know to find the real You find the real.

Speaker 6 (10:28):

in a second. We are Coast one oh three point five.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
Good morning, I'm Ellan K.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
And how many firefighters does it take to rescue pomeranian
from a sewer?

Speaker 2 (11:02):
It's not a joke.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
It happened to Los Fela's and the answer is twenty
six firefighters. A sweet ten year old palm named Ritz
fell into an underground drained trapped there for ninety long minutes.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
Poor thing.

Speaker 1 (11:13):
The LAFD Urban Search Team showed up and it required
twenty six adults to finish the job.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
Ritz went straight to the groomer, glad that he is okay.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
And it is Wing Wednesday, literally National Chicken Wing Day,
the annual celebration of everyone's favorite one handed meal. We've
been observing since nineteen seventy seven, when a few folks
in Buffalo, New York decided their sauced up delicacy was
worthy of a day worth a mention wingstop given five
free wings with any ten dollars purchase on the app
cod is free wings, not an ad, just great information.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
And the Chargers open up their practice to the public today.

Speaker 1 (11:48):
If you're going maybe yella, congrats to Justin Herbert are
Bolts QB announcing his engagement to Madison Bear.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
They announced it on Instagram.

Speaker 1 (11:54):
He hoisted her over his big broad shoulders and she's
just smiling holding up that ring.

Speaker 2 (11:59):
We love them.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
And the Dodgers looking to get a win back from
the Mariner tonight seven tens start get there early as
Edwin Diaz bobble head night.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
And what about this?

Speaker 1 (12:07):
The world of college sports continues to change in a
big way. The latest change involves teams adding ads to
their uniforms. Starting this weekend, college teams could put sponsor
logos or right on play our jerseys. Ohio State and
Notre Dame just signed massive deals to lead the way.
Ohio State is putting Chase Bank logos on their jerseys
fro up to seventeen MILLI year. Notre Dame putting so
Fi Bank patches on their famous football jerseys and that

(12:30):
is a twenty million dollars a year deal. So get
ready for that. It is happening. And what about this.
It is National Lipstick Day. Fifty five percent of women

Speaker 2 (12:42):
It is lipstick. Remember the viral whipstick.

An exhausted mom. She wants to know she's a bad mom.

Speaker 2 (13:36):
I'm going to hear from her next time.

Speaker 4 (13:39):
It's the llen k Morning Show.

Speaker 3 (13:40):
You guys are like medicine and I love it.

Speaker 4 (13:42):
Coast one oh three point.

Speaker 2 (13:44):
Five, Coast one of three point five. I'm Ellen here
with Ryan. Hi, good morning, Good morning.

Speaker 1 (13:47):
It's your letters to Ellen. This one comes from Jessica.
All right, So I don't even want to say the
S word.

Speaker 2 (13:53):
And that's school.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
But I know LAUSD is going to be picking up
in a couple of weeks. Some school kind of it's
like a slow roll back. Everyone starts at a different time,
but when you know you reach August, it's pretty much
time to start thinking about it.

Speaker 9 (14:07):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (14:09):
And this is from a tired mother. Dear Ellen, I
need you to tell me I'm not a horrible mom.
I have three kids home from school seven, nine and eleven,
and I've done everything crafts, park days, movie marathons, the works.
I've been on for a week straight and I'm running
on fumes. Yesterday i hit a wall. I told my
mother in law I had a doctor's appointment, completely lied

(14:32):
about it, just so she'd come watch the kids and
I could drive around by myself for an hour, just
get a coffee, sit in silence, maybe shop, not to
answer a single question about snacks or screen time or
who started the fight. I sat in the parking lot
and cried. And it wasn't even sad crying. It was
just relief. And then the guilt hit me so hard.
What kind of mother lies to get away from her

(14:53):
own kids kind of mother counts down the days until
school starts when she's supposed to treasure every second of summer.
I love my kids more than anything. I just also
really needed an hour that didn't belong to anyone but me.
Does it make me a bad mom or just a
tired mom? I'd love to hear from others. I can
take it. I can take it. Thanks Jessica. Well, Jessica,

(15:17):
First of all, I don't think you're a horrible mom
at all.

Speaker 3 (15:20):
No, You're an exhausted person. That's it. You're allowed to be, And.

Speaker 2 (15:26):
The guilt is probably just part of being tired.

Speaker 3 (15:28):
Ellen, What is that you're a mom? What is that
specific mom guilt? Why don't men do that like it's
hard for us, I think, as men, to relate to
that level of guilt.

Speaker 2 (15:38):
What is that, Gosh, Brian, I don't know. It's a
good question.

Speaker 1 (15:42):
I think for me, looking back on those younger years,
I really think that every moment really is precious.

Speaker 3 (15:51):
Okay, So it's like you're missing out on something that
you're going to want to mississing.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
I don't want to miss a thing.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
That's why Steven Tyler wrote that song, I don't want
to miss a thing, because he felt like he was
on the road all the time and he was missing
his daughter growing up. Yes, and you know moments are precious.
Her kids are seven, nine and eleven. This is Jessica.

Speaker 3 (16:10):
But isn't it okay to say, hey, I need an hour?
Like isn't that okay?

Speaker 1 (16:14):
Well, that's the thing, Like why can't she say that?
Why doesn't she just say I need some help and
I need an hour. I just need a little teeny break.
I love your kids, I just need a break. Yeah,
or don't even I don't know. I don't know what
you would say. I don't know what you would say.

Speaker 3 (16:28):
Right, But it's gotten to the point where she's now
making up appointments and lying about it.

Speaker 1 (16:32):
I just feel like, yeah, you know, does it make
me a bad mom? I'd love to hear from mothers. Oh, Jessica,
Hang in there, Jessica. She told her mother in law
that she had a doctor's appointment. She totally lied just
so she could get away. Eight hundred and ninety two nine.
Kost Or taking your calls. We're also giving you cash
and we're sending you to Vegas.

Speaker 1 (17:00):
She needs to make a decision for herself.

Speaker 11 (17:02):
The more he over Dolusa, she might have a chance
of losing her.

Speaker 2 (20:38):
Yeah, what's your guests?

Speaker 12 (20:39):
So?

Speaker 2 (20:40):
What are men hiding?

Speaker 8 (20:41):
I think they're hiding relationship like a female friend at work.

Speaker 3 (20:47):
So wait, not even like a romantic side thing, but
just like a friend.

Speaker 11 (20:52):
Yeah, because the wife probably.

Speaker 2 (20:54):
Won't trust them oesting.

Speaker 1 (20:56):
Okay, that's a good interesting, guest, it's not the right answer.

Speaker 2 (21:03):
Okay, okay, Stephanie, have a great day. Thank you so
much for listening.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
At work by Newbury Park is where Diana is legal assistant.

Speaker 2 (21:12):
Hey, Deana, Hello, Hey Diana, are you at work yet?

Speaker 8 (21:17):
I'm almost here.

Speaker 2 (21:18):
Okay, all right, let's get your guest.

Speaker 1 (21:19):
Then, twenty five percent of men are hiding something from
their partner.

Speaker 3 (21:22):
What is it that they're afraid of the dark.

Speaker 2 (21:25):
Afraid of the dark.

Speaker 1 (21:28):
Yeah, you're right, they're afraid of the dark and they
don't want their partner to know. Twenty five percent of
men are afraid of the dark. They're hiding it from
their partner.

Speaker 2 (21:37):
You're going to Vegas to see the Backstreet Boys. Way
to go, Thank you so much, thank you.

Speaker 1 (21:43):
Yeah, So twenty five percent of men one and four
hide this from their partner. It is that they're afraid
of the dark. Which is that's nothing to be afraid
of to share. I mean, the dark you can be
afraid of, but don't be afraid to tell someone.

Speaker 3 (21:55):
Tell us when you're afraid, you'll be afraid to be afraid.

Speaker 2 (21:57):
Yeah, don't be afraid.

Speaker 1 (22:01):
The Backstreet Boys in Vegas. It's your ellen KQ and aw.
This song was made in all adversity all right. So
they were in a lawsuit with their manager Kevin and
how we lost family members and through it all, Brian
Littrell wrote this song and here it is coast.

Speaker 4 (22:22):
Here we go with me Ellen K Morning Show.

Speaker 10 (22:24):
I love you guys. I listened to you guys every
morning with my clients.

Speaker 4 (22:27):
They asked for the Allen K Morning Show host one
oh three point bot.

Speaker 1 (22:31):
Have you heard Eli's got a new coyote condo. It's
a whole pack moving into an unfinished building. Also feathers cross.
Jackie's fighting back. More on that with your top stories.

Speaker 2 (22:43):
I'm gonna do that coming up.

Speaker 1 (22:44):
Okay, we got your letter to Ellen. Dear Ellen, I
need you to tell me I'm not a horrible mom.
I have three kids home from school, seven, nine and eleven.

Speaker 2 (22:52):
We have a lot of moms listening in the car
right now.

Speaker 1 (22:54):
We just played the Ellen KQ and a twenty five
percent of men are hiding their fear of the dark
from their part. That's for the Backstreet Boys. So we
played the Q and a every day seven point thirty. Okay,
but this one is Jessica. Dear Ellen, I need you
to tell me I'm not a horrible mom. I got
the three kids at home yesterday hit a wall. I
lied to my mother in law, told her I had

(23:15):
a doctor's appointment. I just made it up just so
she'd come watch the kids so I could drive around
by myself for an hour, got coffee and sat in silent,
sat in the parking lot and cried. It wasn't sad crying,
it was relief crying. And then the guilt hit so
hard I couldn't enjoy it. What kind of mother lies
to get away from her own kids.

Speaker 3 (23:33):
Do you ever think about how your mom did it
with six of you?

Speaker 2 (23:36):
I don't know how she did. I really don't know
how she did it.

Speaker 1 (23:39):
Yeah, And you know, do you remember a lot of
times she would just vacuum, okay, And I think that
she would just run that vacuum, And I think that
that was kind of a way of saying, not going
to talk right now. Yes, she had to do it, mom,
six kids, and it's not just six. It was like
we were all back to back. Yeah, so we're all

(23:59):
like almost practically the same age. We're like a year
and a half a party, Yes, thank you mama. Yeah,
but let's go to Michael. Hey, Michael, good morning.

Speaker 9 (24:11):
Good morning. I'll tell you what when it come very rady.
She has set the.

Speaker 11 (24:16):
Bar for all moms.

Speaker 9 (24:17):
She did what we call a reset day. I'm proud
of her. She did the right thing. And what makes
her such a good mom is that she's so worried
that she hasn't done enough. Clearly, she has good for her.

Speaker 2 (24:28):
Michael, that's so. That's so well put.

Speaker 3 (24:31):
That was perfect.

Speaker 2 (24:32):
She needed to hear that.

Speaker 9 (24:33):
Thank you, well, you know what, Thanks for bringing light
to people like that, because you guys are setting the
bar yourself.

Speaker 11 (24:40):
Keep it up.

Speaker 2 (24:41):
Thanks Michael. It sounds like Andy Reid like he's done
a football code.

Speaker 1 (24:44):
Yes, given Jessica some good words of encouragement. Thank you
for that for a feel good show. Thanks Michael. Keep
the calls coming. Jessica feels like a bad mom.

Speaker 2 (24:54):
Top Stories. Next, it's the L and.

Speaker 4 (24:56):
K Morning Show. I love it.

Speaker 10 (24:57):
You guys are my morning happiness host.

Speaker 4 (25:00):
One oh three point five.

Speaker 1 (25:01):
Wed on K Morning Show. It's past one oh three
point five. Top Stories Top of the Hour. Good morning,
I'm Ellen Kay here on Wednesday, July twenty ninth, And
there's a new doc on Apple TV making the bold
claim that America's best pizza is not in New York City,
not in Chicago or Detroit, it is here in LA
called Best Pizza in LA featuring Brian Austin Green and

(25:24):
Tory Spelling. It seeks to end the stereotype that our
pizza is secondary. Beyond that, they then set out to
find the single greatest pizza in our city. Thought suggestions,
we're open for this convo and feathers cross Jackie's fighting back.
It seems she's in the clear. The big Bear bald
Eagle Mama is under constant care after her faithful fight.
Jackie's doctor says she's moving in the right direction. She's sassy,

(25:46):
she's eating on her own, and most important, she's giving
staffers major attitude. She wants nothing to do with them.
They said, that's the best sign of all. And have
you heard about LA's new coyote condo. A whole pack
moving in to an unfinished construction project and we hope
it's the corner of Romain and Spaulding. For the last
three years, a spot is basically framework, but as we speak,
a coyote clan has taken full ownership.

Speaker 2 (26:07):
Multiple balconies on floors.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
The real problem is they get together at night for
loud family.

Speaker 2 (26:11):
Chats from yeah that the.

Speaker 1 (26:14):
Town howel meetings, The noises and nuisance neighbors want them relocated.

Speaker 2 (26:22):
All right.

Speaker 1 (26:22):
Madison Beer and La Charges quarterback Justin Herbert are engaged
after newly a year of dating. The two first sparking
romance rumors way back in August last year. And then
remember Herbert went viral after saving Beer from a stray
ball in an LA Lakers game. We love their love
and they joined the ranks of singers dating and marrying
NFL players Taylor Swift and Travis Kelcey, Hailey Steinfeld and

(26:45):
Josh Allen married with a baby, Sierra and Russell Wilson
celebrating their tenth anniversary this month, and Normani engaged to
DK Metcalf and the Chargers open up their practice to
the public today at the Bolt in El Segundo.

Speaker 2 (26:58):
If you're going, maybe Ella, congrat to Justin Herbert. Happy guy.

Speaker 1 (27:02):
The coolest day of the week is right now, the
coolest I mean ninety five for your heights today and
then we're gonna start baking again tomorrow. Valley Village ninety
two for your high Victorville. You go up and over
one hundred, up to one o three.

Speaker 2 (27:14):
And it is seventy three in Burbank.

Speaker 1 (27:16):
It's KOST Los Angeles Coast one of three point five.

Speaker 2 (27:19):
We're gonna cool you down.

Speaker 1 (27:21):
Four packs to six flags, Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor
that's on the way, plus your cash on Coast.

Speaker 4 (27:27):
It's the Ellen k Morning Show.

Speaker 8 (27:28):
I listen to you guys every day. I love your show.

Speaker 4 (27:32):
Coast one oh three point five.

Speaker 1 (27:33):
Music, money and fun. We're the LK Morning Show. Jessica
wrote us a letter to Ellen. Dear Ellen, I need
you to tell me I'm not a horrible mom. I
have three kids home from school seven, nine and eleven,
and I've done everything park days, movie marathons, crafts, the works.
I've been on for four weeks straight and I'm running
on fumes. Yesterday I hit a wall. I lied to

(27:55):
my mother in law, said I had a doctor's appointment,
completely made it up so she'd come watch the kids
and I could drive around by myself for an hour.

Speaker 2 (28:04):
I got a coffee.

Speaker 1 (28:04):
I sat in silence, didn't want to answer a single
question snacks or screen time or who started the fight,
sat in that parking lot and cried. It wasn't even
sad crying, it was just relief. And then the guilt
hit so hard I almost couldn't enjoy it. What kind
of mother lies to get away from her own kids?
Kind of mother counts down the days until school starts

(28:26):
back up when she's supposed to treasure every second of summer.
I love my kids more than anything. I also just
really needed an hour that didn't belong to anyone but me.
I'd love to hear from others and I can take it. Thanks, Jessica.

Speaker 3 (28:40):
Can I ask you a question?

Speaker 2 (28:41):
Yeah, of course.

Speaker 3 (28:43):
When you had Calvin, yeah, my boops, and he was little,
and you guys, you and Seacrest were running and gunning
with idle traveling all.

Speaker 2 (28:50):
Yes, I felt horrible every time I get on a plane.
Did you I felt horrible?

Speaker 3 (28:55):
Did it make it hard to enjoy all of the
things that were happening, like your guilt?

Speaker 2 (29:00):
Oh yeah, oh yeah?

Speaker 1 (29:01):
I felt We would pack up, so I follow Seacrest
to every city for American Idol, and you know, Calvin
was so young, and it just every time I would
just cry so hard on the way of the airport
and then get home and it was like Christmas. I
just couldn't wait to you know what I mean? Yeah,
so's it's hard to compartmentalize when you're you know, it's yeah,

(29:24):
I know, it's a challenge for so many people.

Speaker 3 (29:27):
I think it's specifically moms, though, I think, and there's
something unique about the way you guys parents.

Speaker 2 (29:33):
You know, really you don't think that.

Speaker 3 (29:35):
I'm not saying dads don't. I just think you feel
it more.

Speaker 2 (29:39):
Well, let's go to Jeff of north Ridge. All right, Jeff,
what do you say?

Speaker 11 (29:45):
I think that now that she has made this little
lie with her mother in law, she should confess and
maybe ask her mother in law if she could take
an hour ever here and here and again.

Speaker 2 (30:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 11 (30:02):
Yeah, yeah, maybe mother in law would say, yeah, I
sure do that. I think it's totally reasonable.

Speaker 2 (30:08):
Yeah, okay, that's good. Do you have kids?

Speaker 11 (30:11):
Take an hour? I have kids?

Speaker 1 (30:13):
And did you ever feel guilt as a dad just
wanting to get.

Speaker 2 (30:17):
Away from them?

Speaker 11 (30:19):
I'm not real guilt, I will say, mildly so and
being taken and wanting not wanting camp, being with them,
supporting my wife. Yeah, yeah, not so much guilt.

Speaker 2 (30:34):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (30:34):
Yeah, A lot of men are calling about Jessica's letter.
I'm kind of surprised by all the men calling it's
it's pretty cool.

Speaker 11 (30:42):
Well, I want to give mom an out there. I mean,
it's that's tough.

Speaker 9 (30:46):
He's in a tough way.

Speaker 11 (30:47):
Yeah, it's a.

Speaker 1 (30:49):
Crossing, yeah, Jeff, Well, thank you you bet.

Speaker 11 (30:53):
I appreciate your show.

Speaker 2 (30:54):
Thank you, thank you.

Speaker 11 (30:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (30:56):
We all kind of reach our like our way of reasoning.
I remember I was doing these entertainment reports for KTLA,
the six o'clock news six pm, so up in the
morning during the morning show, and then I would like
do stuff during the day. And Calvin was ten and
I walked through the door one Thursday night with the
biggest pizza you've ever seen, ready to just hang out

(31:19):
with him. And I sat down and he was so sad,
and he said, Mom, I want you home because he
would get home from school.

Speaker 2 (31:26):
And I wasn't there.

Speaker 1 (31:27):
Yeah, and I loved doing school pickup and all that stuff.
And I remember I thought, I I can't do this anymore,
so I.

Speaker 2 (31:36):
Stopped doing it.

Speaker 1 (31:37):
And I was there at school pickup yep, and never
looked back.

Speaker 3 (31:42):
And that was that moment that he said it right,
looked at you and see that was it.

Speaker 2 (31:46):
That was it.

Speaker 1 (31:47):
I was like, oh my god, he's ten. Yeah, this
is going to fly by. It makes me, It makes
me emotional thinking about it. But yeah, Jessica, we're getting
all all the help for you. So it's eight hundred
and ninety nine KOs. Keep your calls coming. Also, we
have your cash Cash on Coast coming up and we're
gonna cool you down.

Speaker 2 (32:07):
We've got four packs for you to have some fun
coming up.

Speaker 4 (32:10):
Let us do Ellen every Monday and Wednesday.

Speaker 10 (32:12):
Yeah, it is emotional cheating already.

Speaker 11 (32:14):
If she's communicating with another manny guy, Yeah, I don't
think I would be okay with it. An no man
wants to share his wife.

Speaker 6 (32:20):

Speaker 2 (33:31):
Much for coping our listener. Jessica, she wrote a letter
to Ellen.

Speaker 1 (33:35):
She lied to her mother in law so she could
get just one hour piece and quiet away from her
three kids who are obviously having their summer. And she
said she's done everything, the movie days, the crap days.
She can't think of anything more. And while she was
away for that hour that she stole and lied about,
she cried because she felt guilty.

Speaker 2 (33:56):
And yeah, she's needed to have some me time.

Speaker 1 (34:00):
But Tiffany, you heard the letter to Ellen Jessica's asking
is she a bad mom?

Speaker 8 (34:07):
No, Jessica, you're a great mom because you're taking time
for yourself. Everybody needs a break, so you're allowed. Everybody's allowed,
like a certain amount of white lives. This is just
a little white life. Let it be. You're gonna laugh
about it later.

Speaker 2 (34:19):
Okay, Yeah, just whatever it takes to get you through.

Speaker 9 (34:22):
Yeah, you don't take a break when you.

Speaker 2 (34:25):
Do your getaway. What do you do with that time?

Speaker 8 (34:28):
Well, I'll go to the naphlon, or I'll go to
the spot, get a facial or a massage, or just
walk around them all anything breathed.

Speaker 3 (34:38):
Too much, you know, Like, how can you be the
best for everyone else if you're not, If you're just
run down, you have to you have to recharge.

Speaker 8 (34:47):
Yeah, that's all this is. So it kind of went
the other way because she's crying, so she has a
fuck up.

Speaker 1 (34:55):
Okay, you're like a B twelve shot there, Tiffany, it's.

Speaker 4 (35:00):
The llen k Morning Shell.

Speaker 8 (35:02):
I love her, I love your eyes, I love everybody
right now.

Speaker 4 (35:06):
Posts one O three point five Do you ever suffer
from parenting?

Speaker 2 (35:11):
Guilt. Mother guilts.

Speaker 1 (35:12):
Jessica feels so guilty because she lied to her mother
in law said hey, I have an appointment.

Speaker 2 (35:17):
You need to come watch my three kids.

Speaker 1 (35:19):
Your three grandkids, and then she just went off and
did nothing and cried.

Speaker 3 (35:24):
Do you think, Ellen, the guilt stems more from the
lie or the fact that she just she feels like
she needed a break.

Speaker 2 (35:32):
That's a good question. Well we got this talk back.

Speaker 12 (35:36):
Hi Ellen, this is Ronnie. I heard your letter from Jackie.
I don't think she should feel guilty at all, But
why did she lie to her mother in law? Maybe
she wouldn't have felt so guilty by having that cup
of coffee and drive. As far as your mom goes
our generation, we were outside plane all day. That's how
she did it with six kids.

Speaker 3 (35:53):
That's a fair point.

Speaker 2 (35:54):
She did look barefoot.

Speaker 1 (35:56):
Yeah, she would say when it gets dark, you come
back inside.

Speaker 2 (36:00):
We were like we're all over the place, riding our bikes.

Speaker 1 (36:05):
I was wandering into the neighbors' houses getting lemonade.

Speaker 4 (36:13):
It's the L and K Morning Show.

Speaker 6 (36:15):

Speaker 1 (36:32):
Crush?

Speaker 2 (36:33):
Of course?

Speaker 8 (36:33):
Well?

Speaker 2 (36:34):
What's your name?

Speaker 10 (36:36):
Andrew?

Speaker 2 (36:37):
Andrew? And who's us?

Speaker 1 (36:38):
Is there someone else there with you? I? Oh, okay
for multiples?

Speaker 2 (36:45):
All right? What are you guys doing today?

Speaker 11 (36:48):
We're going on not far.

Speaker 3 (36:49):

Speaker 2 (36:51):
That is so cool? Nice?

Speaker 1 (36:55):
Okay, Well that's gonna be a fun day. What what
kind of song do you want to hear? What song
do you have in mind?

Speaker 7 (37:03):

Speaker 1 (37:06):
You guys are great. Have a really fun day, you too,
Right bye? Andrew, Andrew and friends on their way to
have a fun day.

Speaker 3 (37:18):
Okay, Ryan, did you ever call a radio station when
you were little and request the song by the way.

Speaker 2 (37:22):
All the time? Same? I love that that's happening. Here's
your songs.

Speaker 1 (37:27):
Benson Boone is beautiful Things.

Speaker 4 (37:30):
It's the L and K Morning Shell, So I love it.

Speaker 9 (37:32):
Everybody out here turns you.

Speaker 4 (37:34):
On every day host one oh three point five.

Speaker 1 (37:37):
Jessica's feeling like a bad mom and she needs us
to tell her she's not a horrible mom. She has
three kids home from school seven nine to eleven. She's
done everything with them, and she's out of ideas, she's
out of gas.

Speaker 2 (37:49):
She hit a wall.

Speaker 1 (37:50):
So she lied to her mother in law and her
kids and said, I have an appointment. I'll be gone
for a little while, and she went just out Go's coffee.
She sat in the parking lot and cried, mom guilt.
She just felt guilty.

Speaker 3 (38:05):
I mean, technically she did have an appointment with a
woman herself. Oh that someone I haven't seen in weeks.

Speaker 2 (38:11):
It's me.

Speaker 1 (38:12):
Oh, that's very true, Ryan, it's good at Deva Lake Forrest.
Deb you heard Jessica's letter. What do you think?

Speaker 10 (38:21):
Well, see, I think she has a different idea than
I have that says we have to entertain our kids
all the time. They don't need to be entertained all
the time. And sometimes when they get bored, it's a
good thing because it forces them to be creative. So
she should establish a quiet time every day, like an hour,
or they just have to pick something quiet and then

(38:43):
she mom can have quiet too. Another thing she could
do is, oh, by the way, my mama's five, so
I have experienced Okay, yeah, okay, yeah. She could switch
like two hours with a neighbor.

Speaker 11 (38:56):
You take the.

Speaker 10 (38:56):
Kids for two hours. I'll take your kids for two hours.
There's things she can do you don't have to. But
the big thing is you don't have to entertain your
kids all the time. They don't need that.

Speaker 2 (39:06):
Yeah, that's great, great advice. Thank you so much. You
would know. Way to go, super mom.

Speaker 10 (39:11):
Okay, you're welcome. Thank you.

Speaker 4 (39:14):
It's the Ellen k Morning Show.

Speaker 13 (39:16):
I lay down at night with you guys, I wake
up in the morning with you guys. I just wanted
to say thank you guys so much for everything that.

Speaker 10 (39:23):
You guys do.

Speaker 4 (39:23):
Host one oh three point bought the only key.

Speaker 1 (39:26):
Morning show and Jimothy the Raccoon is still in the news,
and there are so many reasons why we're obsessed with
this cute little raccoon. In case you don't know, you
know he lives in Seattle. He's short spined raccoon with
a little stubby tail.

Speaker 3 (39:38):
He's a fast little booger too. When you see him
on video, Yeah, he really is Prince.

Speaker 1 (39:43):
So some scientists did the deep dive on jimothyin why
we're so obsessed with this raccoon. By the way, Seattle
Mariners are having Jimothy Knight with special t shirts and
hats and trading cards.

Speaker 2 (39:55):
But they say that he has the face of a.

Speaker 1 (39:57):
Man who has seen too much, my God, and that
his hands are unsettling because they look like tiny human hands.

Speaker 2 (40:06):
It's the way he sits.

Speaker 1 (40:08):
He doesn't crouch, he sits upright, so it's like a
mere cat.

Speaker 2 (40:15):
Jimothy. There, he's built like a man in a costume.

Speaker 3 (40:18):
It's true.

Speaker 2 (40:19):
So these are all the.

Speaker 1 (40:20):
Scientific reasons why we're obsessed with the raccoon. When Jimithy
looks at you, he'll look directly at you, so his
face doesn't move the way you expect it to.

Speaker 2 (40:29):
He makes eye contact. He even has his own song.
Hey then, Jimothy, what's it like there in Seattle? You're
so small and round and wonky like kids drying? How
cattle can you move? You don't fit in with most raccoons?

Speaker 1 (40:49):
You too, He's weirdly comforting.

So happy heavenly birthday to Walter Hunt.

Speaker 2 (44:22):
Here you know who. Walter Hunt is not a club.

Speaker 1 (44:24):
Walter Hunt is the inventor of the safety pin US
patent number six and eighty one. And Walter came up
with this in eighteen forty nine. He owed someone fifteen
dollars it was his debt back then.

Speaker 3 (44:38):
That was probably a ton of cash too, Yeah, I
you don't think so.

Speaker 1 (44:43):
And he sold the patent for the safety pin for
only four hundred dollars, just outright, like give me the money.

Speaker 2 (44:52):
We're done.

Speaker 3 (44:53):
No residuals, nothing, no back end.

Speaker 2 (44:55):
He never shared in the millions his design.

Speaker 3 (44:57):
Later, General Walter, you.

Speaker 1 (45:00):
Had to pay off that day, four hundred bucks in
his pocket. But yeah, the safety pin was invented by
this guy who was having his birthday today. Walter Hunt
and I have a quote about a safety pin because
we always had every show with the quote and a
kiss be like a safety pin, small, humble, but strong
enough to hold broken pieces together.

Speaker 2 (45:20):
I like that, you like it? I love that.

Speaker 3 (45:23):
Yeah, we don't think safety pins enough for what they do.
They do a lot of the work, right, a lot
of work.

Kiss on three, Kiss on me one three.
