Olympian and he is Steven. They were looking at Reygun,
the breakdancer from Australia, but they went with Netterauzik. I

on the pommel horse. I think he's going to be
great on the dance floor and he loves his fandom.

(03:23):
Chick fil A is launching a streaming platform. I'm gonna

never married him, obviously.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
What's your take on this keeping the ring.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
That she bought them herself and her ring collections were
seventeen million dollars.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
Okay, but he didn't Ben buy it.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
I feel like she buys them and then they give
them two mark because I think she's the type of
person who wants to control what's on her finger.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
Okay, I don't know. What I don't know. Is that cynical?

Speaker 3 (04:45):
I mean maybe a little bit, but I mean it's interesting.
It's a good thought.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Well, Ben had not going anywhere engraved on Jlo's engagement ring,
which is so awkward and weird. Not going anywhere a
special message trust issues much. But yeah, that's how he

they come in when it's so hot? And then they
come in trails the little teeny teeny weaning ants? Are
they babies or are those just mini ants?

Speaker 1 (07:25):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
We are all over, Yeah, you guys have them coming in, Oh,
all over the kitchen sink.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
Not anymore?

Speaker 1 (07:32):
Oh okay, Ryan, what are we doing to get rid
of them?

Speaker 3 (07:34):
You have fabreeze somewhere in the house.

Speaker 1 (07:36):
I yes, we do.

Speaker 4 (07:37):
Fabrieze kills ants on contact, no way, just like spiders too.

Speaker 1 (07:42):
Oh, I had no idea.

Speaker 4 (07:44):
And it doesn't leave your house obviously smelling like chemicals
that we made put out or spray. Yeah, so yeah,
I use that for breeze and just blast those babies gone.

Speaker 3 (07:53):
That's number one.

Speaker 4 (07:54):
So I called it a Thursday thirst spray.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
Yes, there's another use of something else. We have WD.

Speaker 4 (08:00):
We'll take off anything sticky from the bottom of your shoe.
If you're maybe out walking the dogs, you step and gum,
just hit it with some WD. Forty peals right off.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
Top Stories, Top of the hour, Good Morning of ellen
k and grocery giant Croger assued the Federal Trade Commission,
challenging the FTC's attempt to block or at least pause
a planned merger with Albertson's. Kroger says the move is
unconstitutional and in overreach of the FTCAS and force and powers.
The case we'll head to court and Portland next week,
where a federal judge will decide if that twenty five

(08:44):
billion dollar deal can indeed proceed. And an update this
morning on the record the super yacht that sank up
the coast of Sicily. Authorities have now recovered remains from
five of the six passengers. They've yet to announce the
idea of that final missing person. We're hearing it is
the owner's eighteen years old daughter, Hannah of fish will
say they're solely focused on recovery right now before starting
to figure out why that yacht went down so quickly?

(09:07):
And what about this group of whale watchers on a
Newport beach charter just got a front row seat for
a super rare grizzly sight on a cruise just two
miles off our coast a seven foot, six hundred pound
maco shark feeding. The shark had captured a swordfish and
was well eating at just ten feet from the vessel.
Experts say these maco sharks typically live in deep offshore waters,
but excessive heat brings them closer to us and call

(09:32):
him Professor Pete.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
Pete.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
Carroll has found his first job since being fired as
head coach at Seattle Seahawks. He's the only coach to
win a college championship and a Super Bowl. Carrol will
start teaching a class at USC next to spring. Carrol
coached USC from two thousand and nine and brought school
two national championships.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
He's seventy two now. He said he could coach tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
He's physically in the best shape he's been, but he
just doesn't desire it. So he's going to be a
professor and that class is yet to be named. We're
keeping on that cool and trend today a little bit high,
only reaching ninety instead of tripful digits, and then we're
gonna call a little more tomorrow too, downy Doherty to
around ninety. Today it's seventy in Burbank and we run
on Celsia's energy drinks. It's KOST Los Angeles Coast one

(10:14):
o three point five coming up. We're gonna send you
to see Tears for Fears in Las Vegas.

Speaker 5 (10:20):
It's see Ellen. K Morning show is Ellen, because this
is sunshine and a battle.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
This is Ellen.

Speaker 10 (10:24):
Yeah, you got to the bed my morning.

Speaker 5 (10:27):
Coast one oh three point five.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
Hi, Jlo's going to keep the ring six engagement rings
worth seventeen million dollars total.

Speaker 1 (10:34):
We learned that this morning.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
Also Pete Carroll's coming back to USC He's going to
be a professor, and we're gonna have a pretty nice
day today. Hi's all the way well only to ninety.
We also have more response from our letters to.

Speaker 3 (10:48):
Ellen right to Ellen for advice because she's seen a
thing or two.

Speaker 1 (10:52):
She is Ellen.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
Gabby wrote to us she works for a senior VP
at a big hedge fund downtown, LA. Perfect job, great money,
great co workers, amazing hours. The only thing is her
boss is cheating and she's the one making the reservations.
So she wants to know one you cross the line,

(11:18):
is it loyal assistant or accomplice.

Speaker 4 (11:21):
So my solution was quit this stayed with me and
has I know me too?

Speaker 3 (11:27):
You can't. I can't stop thinking about it.

Speaker 4 (11:30):
There's no reason this woman should be forced to quit
her job because of this other guy's infidelity.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
It's outrageous. That's his fault, not hers.

Speaker 12 (11:39):
All I'm gonna say is we don't know the amount
of cheating that happens all around us, around the world. Right,
that's their own problem. It sounds like she's getting paid. Well,
keep the job.

Speaker 1 (11:50):
Yeah, keep the job, take the money.

Speaker 3 (11:53):
And figure it out a different way.

Speaker 1 (11:54):
Okay. I like that advice. I don't know. I was like, leave,
get out.

Speaker 12 (12:00):
We're in a bad economy too, it's hard to find
a good job.

Speaker 8 (12:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (12:03):
Everything else is so good for her.

Speaker 4 (12:05):
She can walk to work, absolutely and starting over in
any field is always tough.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
Yeah, you know, well, Rush, thank you.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
We're still getting overwhelming response about Gabby.

Speaker 1 (12:16):
What are your thoughts?

Speaker 13 (12:18):
Well, here's my take on it. I think she needs
to approach your boss, but definitely with impassion, because I've
dealt with this situation with guys that I know of
that have been cheating. And the thing is a lot
of times, no one ever approaches these guys and says
what you're doing is wrong. And the thing they never
ever hear is like, what are you going to do

(12:40):
if your wife finds out? You get a phone call
one night, you know whatever from another one and she tells,
what are you going to do? They never look at that.
They're looking at the fun side of everything all the time,
and no one ever approaches them and tells them here's
the downside and this is what you're gonna lose, And
a lot of times it's that reality check that like, wow,
I really do have a lot to lose, and but

(13:02):
a lot of times we're so afraid to tell them.
And I've been in this situation a couple of times
where I've had friends of mine that we're cheating, and
I go, what are you going to do?

Speaker 1 (13:10):
Like, what's your end up?

Speaker 13 (13:12):
Yeah, yeah, you get to call one night and then
you're you're screwed. Just just stop now. And if he says,
you know, hey, don't tell me what to do, then
move on because that's somewhere you shouldn't be working anyway.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
Yeah, got it, Ross, Thank you, You're very welcome. Oh Okay,
a lot of people calling and just saying but I
like I like the I like the idea of Gabby
digging in and staying. I just think that she's at
the point where she just has like really really a
huge conscious and so guilty. That's a tough one. All right, Well,

(13:48):
thank you for all your casture letters to Ellan. You
can also use the talk back button cent our iHeartRadio app.

My husband and I happen to have a lot of
mutual friends. But I do go separately, and so does he.
Really good, guess it's not the right answer, Patty.

talking about this off the air. Ryan does not like
showering together.

Speaker 3 (17:46):
No, never have.

Speaker 4 (17:47):
I think it's one of the worst things ever, because
someone's always out of the water and you just have
to sit there and wait, I.

Speaker 1 (17:52):
Think you have to compromise them, both of you have
to be under the Yeah.

Speaker 3 (17:55):
I don't like that either. And wait, it's one of
my favorite things.

Speaker 1 (17:57):

Get a raining shower, you know, the big rain. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
and it rains down on you together.

So it's not the Yeah. Sorry, great guess though. Holly's
inventor high Holly. Hi, Hi, So Holly, what is it
half of all couples do what separately?

Speaker 7 (18:20):

Oh hell yeah.

Speaker 2 (18:29):
Do you have a person in your life that you
keep the laundry separate from I do?

Speaker 7 (18:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (18:36):
See, I do the laundry for my boys just because
I know its shirts not to put in the dryer.

Speaker 3 (18:40):
Yes, that's important to throw them in.

Speaker 6 (18:43):
It's very true that way, you're not blamed in case you,
you know, messed up their laundry.

Speaker 2 (18:48):
Well, congratulations, Tears for Fears. It's Roland or is the
ball day? La Quintana's birthday, and yeah, we're.

Speaker 1 (18:56):
Celebrating that with you.

Speaker 2 (18:58):
Tears for Fears told us a great story of performing
at the Forum.

Speaker 8 (19:02):
I actually have one Forum story from when we first
played there, which I think was Beck in nineteen ninety.
I want to say my wife was learning to just
learning to drive a car at that point, and I
made her drive us to the Forum. I picked her
up at La because I made her drive the car,
and unfortunately we couldn't find the backstage entrance, and then

(19:24):
fans started to recognize me in the car, and the
panic Frances felt trying to find the next stage entrance
for us to drive down while and she was just
learning to drive while people were banging on the side
of the car was a memory that we'll live forever.

Speaker 5 (19:43):
Wake up with ellen K.

Speaker 3 (19:44):
Hi, this is Tiffany Hardison.

Speaker 12 (19:46):
You're listening to the ellen k Morning Show Coast one
O three point five.

Speaker 3 (19:51):
She ready get its top stories.

Speaker 1 (19:54):
Good Morning of Ellen K and DNC.

Speaker 2 (19:56):
In nine three Chicago speakers, former President Bill Clinton, Tim Walls,
also an appearance by Oprah Winfrey. When Oprah took the stage,
she was optimistic that we all have more in common
that meets the eye.

Speaker 1 (20:09):
What I've witnessed and experienced are human beings, both conservative
and liberal, who may not agree.

Speaker 3 (20:18):
With each other, but who still help you in a heartbeat.

Speaker 2 (20:21):
If you were in trouble, and a few other key
political points. RFK Junior expected to officially end his campaign tomorrow.
He has an event planned in Phoenix. Okay, what about this?
Snapping a selfie while vacationing is the ultimate ick. A
new study has revealed that taking selfies on a trip
or at a special celebration can actually make tourists not
want to visit that destination. When others are looking up

(20:43):
places for their wedding or planning their next getaway, they're
more likely to get turned off if they see a.

Speaker 1 (20:47):
Picture of someone else there.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
The report detailed six separate studies that all found that
taking selfies can lower viewers liking in preference for that place.
And today, August twenty second is National tooth Fairy Day.
We're probably celebrating that sweet and stealthy stalwart of dental discovery.
The annual Tooth Fairy payout Index has been released, and
like everyone else, she's been hit by inflation. The average

(21:10):
value of a loss tooth has declined six percent from
this time last year. Of the Tooth Fairy is now
paying five to eighty per tooth. But we should point
out that a first tooth still commands more, at seven
dollars and ten cents, way more than my son Calvin
got when he lost his first tooth at Baskin Robbins
in a rainbow ice cream cone, just stuck there on.

Speaker 1 (21:32):
The ice cream Happy Tooth Fairy Day.

Speaker 2 (21:34):
And we're keeping on that cooling trend with highs only
reaching ninety tomorrow on Saturday. Fantastic attempts in the mid
eighties Downy Dwarty hies up to about ninety and it
is seventy two in Burbank.

Speaker 1 (21:44):
We run on Celsius Energy drinks.

Speaker 2 (21:47):
It's Kost Los Angeles Coast, one of three point five.
Someone's going to get one thousand dollars this hour, Asa Bass.
The sign is going to play before nine. When it does,
call us Color twenty gets one thousand dollars.

Speaker 5 (22:01):
It's the Okay Morning Show.

Speaker 10 (22:03):
I mean, it feels so good. This morning.

Speaker 11 (22:05):
Thank you past one o three point by all right
therapy Thursday, let's go to.

Speaker 1 (22:12):
Rick, Rick, thank you so much for colin coming on.

Speaker 2 (22:16):
You are on with our licensed therapist, Sarah Dash.

Speaker 10 (22:20):
Hi, Sarah, thanks for taking my call.

Speaker 1 (22:22):
Hi, Rick, tell me what's going on?

Speaker 10 (22:24):
Yeah, So, I am Cocaine High School football right now,
and I'm feeling pretty frustrated with the team consistently showing
up late, not participating, not going one hundred percent. They
lack discipline, and trying to dealing with the parents to
kind of get the parents to help, like to have
them be motivated with the kids. It's been in an issue.

(22:45):
So I address these issues with the parents, and they
often decided with their kids because obviously, you know, Mama
Bear and Papa Bear want to take care of the kids.
And it's making it harder for me to lay down
the law because when I say something, they go home
and tell their parents and either the parents get mad
at me or they tell you know, staff what's going on.
And I just don't know what to do. How can I,

(23:07):
like literally quote might be affected by and holding my
players accountable and improve the situation for our team If
I can't, if I can't get across what's going on.
It's literally taking us hollme and coaching this year.

Speaker 9 (23:22):
Okay, Rick, what I think is happening is that this
is more important to you than it is to the
kids or their parents, And it sounds like you're actually
working harder than they are. And when we're in a
system that's unbalanced like that, you are really the only

(23:45):
person who has the ability to come down and meet them. Now.
I get that this is probably the last thing that
you want to do, but you may have to accept
the reality of the situation.

Speaker 10 (24:00):
Yeah, that's hard, especially being a coach. That's really tough.

Speaker 9 (24:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (24:03):
Yeah, you have standards and expectations and you're there working
and giving one hundred percent.

Speaker 1 (24:08):
And then when you.

Speaker 2 (24:09):
See that you said high school, what grade are they?

Speaker 10 (24:13):
Well, nine through twelve, So that's you know what fourteen
to eighteen year old is. Oh okay, if I don't
have a pretentive year, then the parents are mad about that.
So that's the balance. I'm trying to have a great
year with the kids, so we have a great year,
but to get there, we have to go through certain steps.
So if I do that, they're mad if I do
If I'm trying to make them get better. They're mad,

(24:34):
and that's I think the situation I'm in right now.

Speaker 9 (24:36):
Rick. We've talked about radical acceptance before, and I think
it might be really helpful for you to keep that
in mind, and you may have to be more accepting
of the things that you can't control.

Speaker 10 (24:50):
I get that one hundred percent. I just have to
reset my mind to look at it that way. It's
going to be hard.

Speaker 1 (24:59):
I love it.

Speaker 2 (25:00):
Coaching question my son's football team. If someone did something wrong,
the whole team was punished.

Speaker 1 (25:04):
Do you do that?

Speaker 10 (25:06):
Yeah. One of my favorites I used to do was
I would make that person watch everyone do the punishment.

Speaker 2 (25:12):
Oh my, Oh, so they get out of it and
everyone else has to do it.

Speaker 1 (25:16):
Oh wow wow, Rick, that is.

Speaker 8 (25:21):
Right?

Speaker 10 (25:25):
Yeah, thank you.

Speaker 1 (25:34):
All right.

Speaker 2 (25:35):
Rick, maybe you face that too. It's your therapy Thursday.
Get a hold of us here at Coast We would
love to tackle your troubles.

Speaker 10 (26:03):
How are you doing?

Speaker 2 (26:04):
Hey, Robert, We're doing great. But guess what you're doing
even better? You just won one thousand dollars.

Speaker 6 (26:10):
Oh yes, thank you.

Speaker 2 (26:13):
ASA based the sign and number one hit. It stayed
at number one for six weeks.

Speaker 10 (26:18):
Wow.

Speaker 6 (26:19):
Good news.

Speaker 1 (26:20):
Yeah. So what are you up to right now?

Speaker 6 (26:23):
Oh? Well, I'm working right now and just starting my day.
And you know it's a greater, greater day to day
since I won.

Speaker 1 (26:31):
Yeah, yeah, yeah. What do you do for work?

Speaker 6 (26:34):
I'm in distribution. I do shipping and receiving.

Speaker 1 (26:37):
Okay, are you at the port?

Speaker 6 (26:39):
I'm in my office with a couple guys staring at
me right now.

Speaker 1 (26:43):
You got to tell them, tell them you just want
a thousand dollars.

Speaker 6 (26:47):
I'll tell them when they're done with their with their
morning routine.

Speaker 1 (26:51):
So okay, are you the boss.

Speaker 6 (26:54):
Kind of yeah?

Speaker 2 (26:55):
Okay, all right, all right, boss man. Congrats again, thanks
for having us on at work.

Speaker 6 (27:00):

Speaker 11 (27:21):
The ellen K Morning Show on Coast one oh three
point five.

Speaker 2 (27:24):
It is a therapy Thursday here on Coast one of
three point five The ellen K Morning Show. You have
a licensed therapist, Sarah Dash. Today, coach Rick called, he's
getting really frustrated. He wants his football team to win,
but the parents aren't cooperating and the kids aren't motivated.
It's a fine line. He's walking, he's he's confused. In fact,

(27:46):
our therapist said, Coach Rick, you care about this way
more than the parents are the kids.

Speaker 12 (27:51):
You want a coach like that, Yes, my coaches.

Speaker 3 (27:55):
It's funny.

Speaker 12 (27:56):
I had the opposite. My parents were like, do whatever
you want with her, right.

Speaker 1 (28:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (28:01):
I went through it, but I became better.

Speaker 1 (28:03):
Yeah, right.

Speaker 4 (28:04):
And I think that applies to beyond sports. I remember
taking guitar lessons. I wanted to get really good at guitar.
I had this guitar teacher named Mike. I'd walk in
and go all right, plug plug in and do what
we did last week. I'm gonna go eat and then
he'd hold up a cigarette and leave for a half
hour now, And I was.

Speaker 3 (28:18):
Like, wait, what, no motivate me?

Speaker 2 (28:21):
You wanted more distance? Did you ever learn how to
play the electric guitar?

Speaker 3 (28:25):
I could just play Green Day's brain stew one song.

Speaker 2 (28:28):
Your mom and dad probably spent so much money down wondering.
Oh boy, well let's go to Jenny. Jenny, you heard
coach Rick, you heard therapy Thursday. What are you thinking?
What do you say?

Speaker 7 (28:41):
Yeah, maybe the coach can think back to when he
was in high school. He had a coach before too.
They put himself back in his students shoes.

Speaker 1 (28:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (28:52):
You know, here's the thing. Their kids really, you know,
their teens, and so there's a lot going on in
a teenager's brain, and there is. Yeah, then again, you
did sign up to be on the football team. You
made the football team, So why if you're doing it
not doing it all the way? I feel like there

(29:12):
really are two sides.

Speaker 7 (29:14):
Yeah, there is. I completely get it. To my nephew.
I've seen him go through it, and you know what
he pushed through. He never complained once and he just
did what he had to do.

Speaker 8 (29:25):
He wanted to be.

Speaker 7 (29:25):
Part of that team. Yeah, yeah, there's definitely is the
two sid to it.

Speaker 2 (29:29):
Yeah, it sounds like the parents are letting their kids slide.
Maybe that'll change as the season progresses.

Speaker 7 (29:35):
Yeah, once it starts cooling down too.

Speaker 1 (29:40):
Good morning he Coast one of three point five. Thank
you for being up with us.

The Pumpkin Spice Latte Starbucks officially here starting this morning,
right now, the popular fall drink returns, making it the
early state it's ever debut on the menu.

Speaker 1 (30:14):
And there's a reason behind that.

Speaker 2 (30:15):
The PSL and other seasonal staples account for ten percent
of starbucks total annual sales. And a fun fact for you,
the Pumpkins Spice Latte has been in our lives for
twenty one years. More than twelve hundred watermelons were seized
by border officials at the Port and O Tai Mesa
because they were really watermelons in state fake fruits packed

(30:36):
with five million dollars worth of meth. Customs agents seize
the truck and the drugs and the driver. The mock
melons were discovered by drug sning dogs and if I
broke out at the Cowboys training campsite in Oxnard. Thankfully,
no one was injured in the blaze, nor did it
disrupt their daily workout. It ignited inside an empty hotel
room the residents in use by the team as a

(30:57):
meeting room adjacent to the River Ridge Football fe No
word yet from the Oxford Fire Department and how this
fire started. Today marks the final day of training for
dem Boys here in Socow and we are only two
weeks away from the regular season kickoff of the NFL.
A young Raider fan was interviewed on Las Vegas's very

(31:18):
own Channel thirteen.

Speaker 3 (31:20):
How are you filling with the team this year?

Speaker 11 (31:22):
We're not going to the super Bowl.

Speaker 12 (31:23):
The Super Bowl chances they're not good.

Speaker 3 (31:25):
But what is it going to take for the Raiders
to have a successful season?

Speaker 5 (31:28):
You think not to get arrested?

Speaker 2 (31:31):
