Speaker 1 (00:00):
We're the LNK Morning Show and we love cheese. So
today is a special.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Day for us here on your Friday Eve because it's
a National cheese Day.
Speaker 3 (00:08):
I'm Ellen k Hey, I'm Ryan Manow Social Queen Darling,
and I producer my grandmos and.
Speaker 1 (00:13):
Cheese just I don't know.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
You can't say cheese without smiling, and it makes everything
better in my opinion. Now, some people have a dairy intolerance,
but there's a work around.
Speaker 1 (00:22):
There, uh huh.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
And also there's a great story of the cheese store
of Beverly Hills. It's right there on Little Santa Monica.
So it was it's been around for years and years
and years generations. So the owner moved from Beverly Boulevard
to Santa Monica, Little Santa Monica, and he opened. And
then he noticed that now that his daughter was sixteen,
(00:45):
she was coming from school after school, and then her
friends would come, and then they told their friends, and
pretty soon he says, mobs at the door. He said,
it's the biggest success he's ever had because of his
teenage daughter. Because she they wanted a place to hang
and a lot of them had their drivers still couldn't
(01:06):
drive whatever, And I guess the school is close by,
and so they would just walk over and then words
spread all over town that hey, if you want to
meet these cute girls, they're going.
Speaker 4 (01:16):
To be at knew there was.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
Yeah, so you know, smart guys. And so now the
cheese turned Beverly Hills.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
Okay, So then those kids tell their parents, Oh, the
best sandwich I've ever had because they make the sandwiches
and they have every cheese in the world. So I
just I love that story. I saw him telling it.
He also sells truffles and all kinds of stuff. But
you know, we all have our favorite kind of deli
or cheese place to go to to get them. But
I thought that was a really fun one.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
So celebrate your cheese day today.
Speaker 4 (01:46):
If you could pick one cheese, like you could.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
Cheddar, it's sharp, Cheddar, it's aged.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
Do you have that really quick goat got pepper Jack.
Speaker 4 (01:55):
I like the Mexican cheese you put on tacos.
Speaker 5 (01:57):
That's good.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
Yeah, I love that. All right, we're gonna go inside.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
Entertainment coming Halle Barry misheard something on live TV, so
she goes on the Today Show, and you know, Halle
Berry's pretty out there anyway, about her sexual accomplishments and
her private life. But wait till you hear this one.
Halle said something on the air and it was live.
They couldn't believe it. Like Ryan, you've got the bleep button.
They don't have that on the Today Show.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
So you'll hear it. We're gonna go Inside Entertainment.
Speaker 6 (02:27):
Next post one of three point five The ellen K
Morning Show follow ad Official ellen K post one of

Speaker 2 (02:36):
Poison front man Brad Michaels endorsed his daughter Rain's decision
to sell feet photos online. So I don't know if
you guys have watched Netflix's Calabasas Confidential yet it's a
reality series.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
So we were watching it. Well, I had it on.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
My husband walked in, he goes, what is this And
it's just a bunch of wealthy Calabasas kids, some of
them have famous fathers and mothers, and they just it
shows their life and what's really on their mind and
their friendship circle, and they don't have a lot to
worry about or do.
Speaker 4 (03:11):
Right.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
But Brett Michael's daughter Rain seems pretty well like adjusted
compared to a lot of kids who grow up in
famous families, and so she's selling her feet online.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
She's twenty six. He said, she's an adult.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
She's making tons of money, and he likes that she's
found her passions foot related content. Yeah, it's an adult marketplace.
And he just said, look, it's brilliant and I support her.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
All right, Yeah, sounds very well. Agis is that passion though?
People are very passionate.
Speaker 7 (03:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
Garth Brooks is considering a deal to sell his entire
music catalog for as much as two billion dollars. This
will make it one of the biggest music right sales ever.
The report says no deal has been finalized, but if
does sell, it would rank among the largest catalog sales
in music history. It could top recent billion dollar deals
involving Queen and Michael Jackson's movie.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
You know what I will always love about Garth Brooks
is that when your mother passed, Mama Eileen, Garth and
Trisha offered to take you on a hike to run
in just to hug it out and talk it out
and cry it out and all those things.
Speaker 4 (04:18):
That's a good person, right there, a.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
Really good person.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
And then he also invited me into his dressing room
with Tricia. Yeah, at the iHeartRadio Music Ords, and my
mother had passed. It was two days later, and he
said he came to the voiceover booth and he said,
you need to come to the dressing room right now.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
And we were in a commercial break. We had five minutes.
I go down there.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
It was pretty close, and he said, we're going to
group hug Allen right now, you guys, the whole band,
you guys. I was in the middle Garth Brooks, trishaar
and their band getting a group hug. Sobbing my eyes
out and it was such a nice I could feel
my mom.
Speaker 4 (04:55):
Yeah, beautiful.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
Yeah, he's got a big heart. Right back.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
Rooms becomes a twenty for it's biggest domestic hit after
crossing one.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
Hundred million dollars.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
It launched with eighty one million domestically, but now it
has crossed that threshold.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
Cost ten million to make. That thing is just bringing
in the bucks.
Speaker 2 (05:14):
And what about this, Hey, you guys are friend Jimmy
jam along with Terry Lewis, are bringing forty years at
Iconic Hits back to Voltaire at the Venetian. They're going
to do that for ten shows. That's going to happen
in August. We're going to be your hookup. Justin Bieber
was spotted at a used bicycle shop in LA with
a friend buying a bike. So they go into this
used bike shop, they pay cash for bikes and then
they just rode away. So they didn't drive there. They
(05:37):
must have been dropped off there and they just wanted
to go for a bike rid and didn't have bikes.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
They rode up on the spot.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
Then he was at Esquela Takaria near the grove here
in La. There was a birthday party happening at a
big table, and he sang to the girl celebrating.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
Her birthday, that's really sweet. All right? Do you think
this is sweet? Halle Berry?
Speaker 2 (06:00):
She was sitting down for some rapid fire questions on
The Today Show and didn't quite make out Jenna bush
Hager's final question, do.
Speaker 4 (06:08):
We have time for one more biggest dick?
Speaker 1 (06:11):
Biggest? I was like, what.
Speaker 5 (06:21):
It sounded like that didn't I know?
Speaker 1 (06:23):
Oh it didn't.
Speaker 2 (06:26):

Speaker 2 (07:36):
Trash talking starts early in life, and especially if.
Speaker 1 (07:40):
You're in sports.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
Yeah, but I don't like trash talking. No, And there's
someone that we need to stop trash talking too, and
it's your happiness hack.
Speaker 4 (07:49):
Yeah, look in the mirror because it's you.
Speaker 1 (07:51):
Okay, we are our own worst enemy, we do.
Speaker 4 (07:54):
We are What percentage I just looked this up.
Speaker 3 (07:56):
What percentage of people say they never engage in negative speak?
Speaker 4 (08:00):
What would you guess?
Speaker 1 (08:02):
Ten percent? Never?
Speaker 4 (08:03):
One percent?
Speaker 3 (08:04):
No way, it's ninety nine percent of people wake up
every day and tell themselves something negative about themselves repeatedly,
really throughout the day.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
We're trash talking ourselves.
Speaker 4 (08:14):
We are.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
That is such a waste of time.
Speaker 3 (08:16):
It's like an angry sports coach. Right, you do something
that you didn't love and you're like, come on, do better,
what's wrong with you?
Speaker 4 (08:21):
Right?
Speaker 3 (08:21):
So, for years, though, here's the thing, most behavior experts
believe that actually that self criticism fueled success. There's a
pioneering psychologist. She comes from the University of Texas. She
discovered something. People who practice self compassion basically talking to
yourself as a best friend, what would you want to
hear from a friend? Are not lazier, they're not less driven,
they're not less successful. In fact, they're more resilient, less anxious,
(08:44):
more motivated after setbacks.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
So it was all a myth. It's believing that that
makes us more competitive.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
Think about like if you're a little kid, you're out
riding your bike and you topple over.
Speaker 4 (08:54):
What helps more?
Speaker 3 (08:55):
You're terrible at this, Ellen or Hey, everyone falls, get
back up, try again?
Speaker 1 (08:58):
Right exactly?
Speaker 10 (09:00):
You know what my own therapist told me once, and
I didn't know what it meant. Give yourself grace. Yes,
And I asked her, well, what do you mean? Yeah, yeah,
And she just said, when you are not being good
to yourself, force yourself to be good to yourself. Oh,
do something good for yourself, Say something good to yourself.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
This is a perfect happiness hyper therapy Thursday.
Speaker 5 (09:22):

Speaker 8 (09:23):

Speaker 2 (20:01):
You are helping so many in the Southland and Brandon
left us this talk, Okay, I want you to listen
to this.
Speaker 12 (20:08):
So my wife of eight years I recently found out
it's been cheating on me for a year year and
a half or so. As frustrating as this process has
been for me, I think what's really becoming a problem
is that my mom and my sister continuously hang out
with her to this day. You know, they'll go to
lunch together, they'll hang out of each other's houses, go shopping.
Knowing everything that she's done to me and what I've
(20:29):
been through with her, I'm just starting to feel disrespected.
Why do I feel like I'm being betrayed? Thank you?
Speaker 1 (20:36):
Okay, Brandon. So Brandon is being disrespected, right.
Speaker 7 (20:42):
My guess is that it's not intentional on his sisters
or his mother's part, and they may be even trying
to maintain a type of status quo in the family.
If you think about it from a family systems perspective,
it's called homeostasis. That's when somebody's really committed to the
status quo.
Speaker 1 (21:04):
And so maybe that's their.
Speaker 7 (21:05):
Way of trying to preserve that, but it's I mean,
I hear it at the cost of his well being
and his peace of mind, and I don't think that's okay.
Speaker 5 (21:15):
Oh wow.
Speaker 2 (21:16):
So they just want things to like, even though there's
been betrayal and you know, she's been dishonest with and
betray him, they want to pretend or they want to
keep going like, well, our brother was married to her,
everything is.
Speaker 1 (21:30):
Fine, exactly, denial exactly. I think it is a little
bit of denial.
Speaker 7 (21:34):
Maybe they don't really want to be in touch with
how deeply hurt he was by what happened. Sometimes it
makes people really uncomfortable. If people aren't used to heavy emotions,
they will really turn a blind eye to things.
Speaker 1 (21:48):
And that could be what's happening. And this happens with friends,
you know.
Speaker 2 (21:51):
Say say that you know two of your friends break
up and then who inherits you or who do you
hang with?
Speaker 1 (22:00):
Yeah, so that happens all the time. Yeah, we have these.
Speaker 7 (22:03):
We find ourselves in these loyalty vines, and it's not
easy for for anybody. But I do think that it's
Brandon's feelings that need to take precedence over his wife
and mother's relationship.
Speaker 1 (22:16):
Poor guy.
Speaker 4 (22:17):
I gotta give you credit, though, Ellen, you're a writer.
