Speaker 1 (00:00):
Joining us now, mad Locke always going to chat with
the GOP strategies on what's happening with the potential of JD.
Vans being our next president. Matt, welcome in, Thanks for
being here.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
Good morning.
Speaker 1 (00:09):
So I'm a big fan of Charlie Kirks. I like
all of his stuff here and now he's saying, oh yeah,
he's our guy here, the guiding light for young conservatives.
I'll be honest with you, I could see Charlie kirk
being a part of an administration in twenty twenty eight
at some point. I mean, he's got a spot on
in the conservative world too. But let's talk about the
potential of JD. Vans. You feel that strong about it
(00:31):
as well, that he is you know, the VP. Is
he the obvious one next in line?
Speaker 2 (00:35):
Well, yeah, he's obviously the air parent. I mean Trump
knew exactly what he was doing. Trump knew going into
Trump two point zero that you know, someone was going
to have to carry the mantel for MAGA and all
of the policies that he's trying to enact here the
second goal around. And so what do you do. You
pick a young guy, You pick an intelligent guy, a
marine kicks all the boxes and the guys just absolutely
(00:58):
I mean beyond marked.
Speaker 1 (01:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
So it'll be fun to watch him debate. It'll be
fun to watch him, you know, try to continue with
the policies that Trump has enacted.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
Well, I think he's a solid guy too, and his
background and coming from not only the military background, but
his personal life background Appalachia, West Virginia, poor battled an
alcoholic mom. I mean, this guy, you know, lived the
the the American life, on the on the poor side
of town and battled through everything in adversity. And his wife,
(01:32):
I mean, you talk about a potential amazing first lady.
She's just right there with him in all of this,
and I think, you know, it's solid as can be.
What would be the opposition. What do you see the
pushback in the potential hurdles for him in this potential
run for the White House.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
Well, he's a Republican pushback, right, I mean, you're going
to Democrats here at nineteen percent approval rate.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
Now, I'm sorry, stupid question, all right.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
Right, they resist. I mean, you know, he's a Republican
and none of the policies that he actually stands for
they agree with. I mean Democrats are never going there's
there's always going to be pushedback on whoever we put
up as president. If it's Trump, if it's banned, if it's.
Speaker 1 (02:12):
Rama, all right, hold on, let me let me let matt,
let me rephrase the question. What are the hurdles inside
the party that could you know, be a problem.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
Well, the hurdles are the same problems we currently have
with the Republican Party. Half of the Republican Party, you know,
our Democrats and half the Republican Party are in it
for themselves, and you've got Trump trying to steer, you know,
the train here. We've got this, uh, I guess a
personality disorder amongst the Republican Party. Trump's policies work, but
(02:41):
most of the Republican Party wants to be Democrats, so
they fight him tooth and nail. Half the people don't
like Trump. I found it very interesting. Tucker Carlson interviewed
George Santos the other day and George started kind of
spilling the beans in Congress, and most of the people
up on Capitol Hill don't like Trump. It's own. They
(03:01):
don't care. They ride the coattails because politics is a
bare knuckle sport. But the hurdles are going to be
getting half of the Republican Party on board with the
actual laws. In everything that Trump's doing that works. You
know he'd like him or not.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
Donald Trump has made the country better, period safer, but
more economically sound. We're taking this country in the right
direction as far as a global leader again. Our position
of power and strength is back. The market looks great.
We're putting criminals either in jail or getting them out
of our country. I mean, yeah, he's a ball in
(03:40):
the Chinese shop, all right, But I got to tell you,
I'm pretty pleased with the way things have gone in
such a quick time this go around as well.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
Well, you're absolutely right. I talk on my podcast all
of the time. Actions speak louder than words. Politicians talk
a lot, but what do they get done? Trump gets
things done. Left hates it. You see the state run
media that's in the Democrat tank out there telling you
inflations through the roof when it was nine percent with
Joe Biden, when you couldn't afford you know, gas or
(04:10):
food or eggs, and you know it's the Trumpocalypse, right,
Everything is bad under Trump, even though it's good. So yes,
all those things you just kicked off. Trump has made happen,
you know, the world stage piece, power and strength again, NATO,
I ran economy, eggs, housing. We can go right down
(04:31):
the list, all the way through to the tax cuts
and everything else. The only thing that I can really
tell you I don't like is the four trillion that
we're supposedly adding with the big beautiful bill. Let's see
what that happens. But if you know tariffs, add that up.
I'm not an economist, and it'll play one on television.
So I'm gonna sit back and say, Okay, Donald Trump,
you've got until next July fourth. The two hundred and
(04:53):
fiftieth birthday showed me what you got.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
You know you and I think probably the same way
that the Democratic Party is basically self destruct right before
our very eyes, and they completely lost the target focus
at the target, I should say, during the campaign, during
you know, the Biden era, What do they have to
do to get back on track or can they at
this point, Well, they've doomed theirselves.
Speaker 2 (05:14):
You've just hit on it. You know, they're they're the
fringe now of politics, the LGBT, the you know, the
illegal aliens, the immigration that sort of thing. Most Americans
don't want that to happen. And so for the Democrats
to actually change their behavior, they would have to change
their entire foundation. I mean, they want lesbian gay bye,
(05:38):
they want you know, men to play in women's sports,
they want illegal aliens coming into the country, they want
and so if you're going to change your platform, you're
going to make one of those groups mad. And that's
they're not willing to do that. So I think you're
lost in the woods. Yeah, I'm totally with you. Well,
the podcast is the voice of the working man. Matt Locke,
the hosts and a great GOP strategist. Thank you, Matt,
(05:59):
appreciate this morning. Thank you, sir,
