Speaker 2 (00:00):
Joining us now.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ken Balcom attorney in New York City. A number of
situations happening there in New York and I wanted to
talk to you about. We'll get to the nearly a
dozen police cars have been in torched by this guy,
but first I want to get your thoughts on what's
happening in Minneapolis right now.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
They have on loud speakers.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
Now only city in America is doing this the prayer
calls for Muslims like they do in those countries abroad.
So New York City seems to be real close behind that,
especially if this new mayor is elected. It seems he
is so far left and socialist that, like I said,
he makes AOC look like Ronald Reagan. Your thoughts on

(00:40):
this guy, as more and more people are coming out
warning if this guy gets into office, it's going to
be trouble for New York City.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
Yeah, I've been warning people about this guy for probably
a year now, and I even had a spat with
him myself in January on Twitter or x as they
call it. He's part of a larger movement called the
DSA Democratic Socialists of America and they have over you know,

(01:05):
probably the past ten years they have started primering like
what I would call the elder statesman of the Democratic
Party in New York City various Assembly seats, State Senate,
Congress famously with AOC, you know, and city council seats.
And now they have finally succeeded in doing it with

(01:25):
the Democratic nomination to be mayor of New York City.
It's breathtaking. It's scary because this group does not have
any respect for the United States Constitution.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
Quite the opposite.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
I would call them an anti constitutionalist party. They are
very much against a lot of our constitutional protections. It's
a fact. I've dealt with them. I've dealt with them
on legal matters, so I know how they think. I
know their opinion. They don't believe in that people have
a right to counsel. They believe in show trials to

(01:58):
a large extent. It's very disturbing. And this guy has
a real clear shot at taking city Hall and residing
in Gracie Mansion well uptown, and it's terrifying.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
I got to tell you.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
The country has already infiltrated with so many different people
through the Biden administration that came into this country illegally
that our enemies and want to infiltrate our country and
take it in the direction that we horrifically went through
with nine to eleven. And now we're starting to see
little cells and things like this pop up right and left,
and not only just with the people from the you know,

(02:32):
the terrorist part of the world, but also the Chinese.
You know, a couple of people just busted again for
you know, spying in our country here, and we're just like,
come on in, buy some land, do whatever you want
to do, and to take it to the next step,
we're electing these people Ilano mar into our Congress. I mean,
there is a section in the document that people sign
when they come to get the US citizenship finalized that

(02:56):
if you don't support the Constitution of the United States,
we can take that citizenship back from you. Just because
you got the final document done, paid your money, and
now you have your stamp that you're a US citizen,
you start acting up, we can take it away from you.
Why are we not taking further action against people like Elanomar.
I don't care if she's got a district that elected her.
How about this. You don't belong in Congress if you're

(03:17):
not pro American and this guy seriously, government rown grocery stores.
I mean, he's out of control.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
Yeah, I mean, we're seeing a lot of people get
elected that clearly do not take their oath to support
and defend the Constitution seriously. I had to take that
oath as a matter of fact to become a lawyer,
and I do take it seriously. I think our Constitution
is a work of art in the modern world, and
he needs to be protected. Remember our form of government,

(03:44):
it's a blip in history. Most forms of government were tyrannies.
They were authoritarian, and they were oppressive to their population.
This is a this is an experiment that is so
far worked out for over two hundred years. But we
are now electing more and more people that are very
much opposed to that foundational document, the Constitution. And it's

(04:05):
scary because I wonder often are some of these people
being financed and backed by some of our adversaries abroad.
Because that's the problem with democracy is that is that
it's an open system. And if you're an adversary of
the United States intent on doing harm to our government
and sowing chaos, you could very easily do so by

(04:26):
spending a few thousand dollars to back up politician. And
you know, mister Momdami, you know his campaign. There is
an investigative journalist by the name of Sam Antar. He
also looked into Letitia James. You should check him out
on x But he said that this guy's campaign was
a ten point five million dollar boondoggle in dark money,

(04:48):
and no one is really sure where he is getting
the bulk of his financing from.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
Well, I got you know, ten guesses in the first
nine don't count. We know where that money's coming from.
And right there in your own city there ken police aiding.
Another identified this guy who torched nearly a dozen police cars.
What is going on and who is this guy?

Speaker 3 (05:07):
Yeah, so this guy is a free palesigne activist. He's definitely,
you know, a radical, participated in some of the Columbia
University protests. And no surprise, the precinct he did it
in is in Bushwick, Brooklyn, which, if you know anything
about Brooklyn, it's considered one of the most hipped neighborhoods,
one of the most radically left neighborhoods in the city.

(05:30):
You know, there's a lot of warehouse lofts, a lot
of like communal living amongst people in their early twenties.
In fact, I have to confess I did live there
in my twenties and while I was in college and
in law school, so you know, I have a lot
of affinity for that neighborhood.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
It's terrible.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
I know a lot of police in that precinct. I've
worked with that precinct don cases. So this is really horrible.
But he torched you know, over ten police cars, which
is unheard of.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
Yeah, I understand the damage was closed to eight hundred
thousand dollars.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
That he coused here.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
So yeah, are they shutting that stuff down in Colombia
and in this New York city with these pro Palestinians
Free Palestine, violent to you know, criminally active protests that
are going on.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
If they clamp down on.

Speaker 3 (06:17):
This, you know, they have to strike that line where
they have to allow you know, First Amendment protests. So
they what Chief Shell of the NYPD has said, they're
being aggressively constitutional. You know, they are going to enforce
public safety laws very aggressively, but they're also going to
make sure that people who are protesting lawfully and not

(06:39):
disturbing the peace, not committing acts of vandalism. That those
people are going to be held accountable, all right, They're
not going to be swept under the ruck.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
Yeah, good, good, Well, let's talk about what's going on
south of us here in Florida. Guy now being charged
with leaving his toddler son in a car to die.
It was so hot while this guy went into the
bar to drink.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
Yeah, you know, it's really very sad. You see these
types of cases every time the weather gets warm. You
hear of a case of a parent leaving their small
child in the car and then essentially, you know, them
being cooked. There's no other way of describing it. It's horrible.
You see it in New York City, you see it everywhere.

(07:22):
I don't know what's wrong with people that they think
that this is okay and why we can't nip this
in the butt as a society. But it happens every
time the weather gets warm. Clockwork, you're gonna hear about
a case like this.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
Yeah, I guess the kid was eighteen months old and
dad Scott Alan Gardner, thirty three years old, locks him
in the car, goes and gets a haircut, and then
he stops by a little place called Hanky Panky's lounge
there in Raman Beach, Florida. I don't know what the
guy's thinking. I don't know what he's you know, where
his head is. Obviously he's an idiot. But this guy,

(07:56):
what kind of sentence could he potentially get in this?

Speaker 3 (08:00):
I mean, in Florida, he's looking at something serious. I mean,
I'm sure he's going down for over a decade, even
if he takes a plea deal. I can't imagine a
Florida prosecutor not putting this man in jail for at
least ten twelve years on you know, manslaughter charge.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
Manslaughter. I mean, okay, look, you.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
Look, I'm a defense attorney, right, all right, I'm not
going to have my client plead to murder without an
argument here.

Speaker 1 (08:26):
Am I? Well, look potentially, here, let's bring common sense
into the room. They're they're never allowed to come into
these kind of conversations here. Common sense to me says,
you put an eighteen month old in ninety degree temperatures
and lock them in there, you know, and go into
a bar.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
You're gone twenty five to life.

Speaker 3 (08:42):
Yeah, I mean, look, there's even a scenario Florida has
the death penalty still, so there's even a scenario where
they could charge him with a death penalty eligible offense.
Not that I think that that is appropriate.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
Here, No I do. I mean you could make be
legally legally you well.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
Then they need to take it back to you know,
the legislator session and get it done, because if you
commit a crime like this that causes the death of
an infant like this eighteen months old, I mean, come on, correct,
crimes against children is as far as adults that commit
these on purpose knowing there's the potential of death, and
you get arrested and convicted on it.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
Throw away the back the thick, goodbye, right this this guy,
this guy is probably so dumb he didn't even realize
that there was a potential for you know, because to
do something like that, how dumb do you have to be?

Speaker 2 (09:33):
Really, well, here's the deal.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
You know, we've all heard about spike deer right with
one horn sticking either their head and it's just called
culling the herd. This herd needs to be called in
this case.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
Yeah, there's something to that. Maybe.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
All right, brother, well, listen, have a happy Fourth and
enjoy your weekend. And I hope things are staying well
with you and we'll do it again soon.

Speaker 3 (09:51):
Yes, it's happy forth of July to all the listeners
out there.

Speaker 2 (09:53):
Thanks j all right, buddy Ken bealcan
