Speaker 1 (00:09):
Well, let's get back to work, and we're kind a
little bit about paint strippers and what do you think
of a company that had their paint strippers have been
used on the Eiffel Tower, Brooklyn Bridge, US Capital Dome,
the Hollywood Sign, the Sydney Harbor Bridge.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
Listen, if it can do that for those structures, they
can probably take care of Grandma's table. Joining me now
as Adam Smith is with Dumont Global, and so I
was just talking about the structures that you know, your
your paint strippers have been used on, and I guess
I'm been in business for a long time forty years plus.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
Yeah, forty years plus. You know what I was trying
to say before is we've always been a water based
paint removal company. We never used harshteme goos like an
np mehling chloride, any of the harsh stuff. So is
changes in the paint chemistry came along. Our first product,
Feel the Way, was designed to go after the really
(01:12):
old paint, lead based paints, oil based and things like that,
many many, many multiple layers of paint. And then as
time went on, the water based paint started to hit
the market and people needed to start to remove those.
Speaker 4 (01:28):
So we came out with our.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
Smart Strip Advance, which is designed for your modern everyday
water based latex paint, stains, varnishes, and then is more
complex coatings came out we designed Smart Strip Pro. In
Smart Strip Pro does everything Smart Strip Advance does, but
it'll also remove dual part of poxy's powder coatings and
(01:51):
things like that, all with the water based daper type format.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
You this guy use the right one right.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
Exactly so, and you've heard me talk about this before.
We have a test kit that's available if you're not sure,
it's best to test because you want the results the
first time. And again, if you've built your home in
nineteen ninety five and you wanted to strip your can't
your cabinets, more than likely Smart Strip Advance, your Smart
Strip Pro is going.
Speaker 4 (02:19):
To be the perfect product for you.
Speaker 3 (02:21):
However, you pick up that dresser or desk on the
side of the road, don't know what's under there.
Speaker 4 (02:28):
That is when you want to test again.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
If you don't know tests, then you pick the right
product and you're gonna have a much much better experience.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
Yeah, for sure. Hey, we've had a couple of conversations
today about solid color stain and water base that's tough
to stick to pressure treated wood and it's peeling. I've
had two calls already today. Can we guess to do
Mond Global products for that?
Speaker 3 (02:54):
You should be able to use some without any offence.
It's a water based stain, it should be fine.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
And if it's uh, I.
Speaker 3 (03:01):
Would think if the paint is failing or the stain
is failing, it may be a prep issue.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
It is, it's definitely a fresh issue. I always tell
people to use a little oxolic acid open up those
wood pores, and it usually just fails in a different
spot here and there. But you know, rather than getting
in there and sanding and burnishing that wood, I was
thinking of the smart strip products might be perfect.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
Sure, absolutely, Yeah, definitely give it a try. I'm sure
it'll work for you. You know, paint prep is you know,
surface preparation is the most important thing in paint right
and a good contractor or a good homeowner takes your
take the extra timement and and try to do it right.
Speaker 4 (03:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
So before we get into scene and if there's anything new,
what what is the way to effectively use your products?
I mean, you know they're water based, they're very safe,
they're very environmentally friendly. It's a process correct, it is.
Speaker 3 (04:03):
And so we have we do things a little bit differently.
We have three different paint removers because not all paint
remover projects are the same, okay, and again going back
to test to find it which is a proper one
for you.
Speaker 4 (04:18):
Is going to give you the best result.
Speaker 3 (04:20):
We also encourage people to use what we have a
performance paper to put over the product. We don't recommend
plastic because plastic can heat up, it can sag, it's messy.
Speaker 4 (04:32):
But the typical application is.
Speaker 3 (04:34):
You're going to apply our product down to the surface,
cover it with the paper, come back in fifteen to
twenty minutes, and do a little test scrape.
Speaker 4 (04:43):
Okay, And in some cases, if.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
It's only a few layers of painter, stain or varnish,
you're going to be right down to the wood. So
now you know how long it's going to take you
to do the job. If it doesn't come off from
that short period of time, give it an hour, come
back and check cases. If it's just a few layers,
it's going to be fairly quick.
Speaker 4 (05:04):
Like you mentioned the Eiffel Tower.
Speaker 3 (05:05):
There's countless, countless, countless layers of paint on that and
you know that is actually we actually have that dwell
almost twenty four hours.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
Oh yeah, but that's bad.
Speaker 4 (05:18):
Because there's no to get all those yers off.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
And the new thing with the pilaway product, the reason
we call it piload is all of that material will
stick to the pilaway. So the reason we call it
pilaway is literally when you pull the paper off the
wall or the table or whatever it comes with, it
literally peels away and then it encapsulates all that bad
(05:42):
stuff in there. So it helps eliminate leadbourne dust and
things like that. And so with all of our products,
Apple apply, add the paper test, then have a fantastic
result when you're done. That's our our ball is to
be complete satisfaction.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
So how many coats of paint can it peel away?
Speaker 3 (06:07):
Well? Okay, peel away? Peel the way where we move
up to thirty coats of paint? Wow, okay, Smart Strip
Advanced are more your your di y one can do
up to about fifteen coats that right, and then yeah,
and peel away.
Speaker 4 (06:25):
We'll do not peel.
Speaker 3 (06:26):
I'm sorry, Smart Strip Pro we'll do upwards of twenty
layers and i have a great demo that.
Speaker 4 (06:33):
I do with it.
Speaker 3 (06:35):
Shows it shows you know, I do like it, do
it best, and shows like that. I'll take a powder
coated can, like one of those tumblers and put pro
on there and then all day I just kind of
peel it back to the show goes right down to
that stainless steel and just just it's as simple as that.
It stays on the paper. So cleanup is always fairly
(06:56):
easy with our products.
Speaker 2 (06:59):
Well, i'll tell you it's I was down at in
Charlotte and they have a wonderful ace store and your
products were all over it.
Speaker 4 (07:11):
Oh good.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
Yeah, and black Hawk Hardware and my favorite hardware stores
there's a couple of them, Heartville Hardware up an Akron Charlotte.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
What a store.
Speaker 4 (07:23):
Yeah, Bill is something else.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
Yeah, it's it's amazing. But but you have your products
I know in the Sherman Williams stores and some of
the doing.
Speaker 3 (07:33):
Best available to do it best as well, and true
values here.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
Yeah. Oh wow, that's super. Well I'll tell you what.
You might have something new coming on board. I understand.
Speaker 3 (07:46):
Yeah, we we do. We've touched on it, I think
the last time we spoke, and now it's it's starting
to get into the marketplace and we're the only company
in this category that has this technology for paint and
graffiti removal. And and we're all familiar with aerosol cans,
shake it up, spray, Shake it up, spray. Our new
(08:07):
technology is called bag on valve or non aerosol, and
it's a pretty simplistic technology. You take a canister and
you fill it with compressed air. Then we after it
so is a compressed area. We actually put the product
that you would get out of one of our pails
or jugs into a sealed bag inside. And the benefits
(08:31):
of this it's non flammable, okay, noncombustible. If the canbra
to puncture air comes out right, you can spray it
upside down. You basically spray it in three hundred and
sixty degrees.
Speaker 4 (08:46):
There's a lot of benefits to this.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
That covers about six to eight square feet and really
it's a good product for people that want to test
if they want to, you know, get in the paint
removals expensive way to get into paint removal and then
they'll move up to the gallons and five gallon pails
if need be. But the technology is such that you
(09:09):
don't have any commingling of our product with any propellants
or anything else. Can yep, yep, yep. What comes out
of the can is what would come out of one
of our pails. So that's the nice thing about the product.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
You could use this indoors.
Speaker 3 (09:27):
You can use it indoors outdoors. You don't have those
harsh chemical petroleum chemical smells that you normally get with
the harsher cleaners. We don't mask the scent of our products.
So so yeah, it's a really neat technology and we
have it with our Smart Strip Advance which we call
(09:50):
them Green and Blue. Green is a Smart Strip Advance
and Smart Strip Pro is Blue.
Speaker 4 (09:55):
But one of the.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
Things that we have done because we know how important
this is a included the paper tucked away in the cap. Oh,
so you not only get the paint remover, you're going
to get the appropriate amount of our performance paper.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
And that's that's part of the key, right, that's part
of the process. That's real.
Speaker 3 (10:15):
Absolutely, it's very important because what it does is if
if you're on a vertical surface with the paper, it
can keep from sagging right and keeps it from people
touching it. But one of the most important things it does.
It helps it heere the product to the surface so
you don't have any air bubbles.
Speaker 4 (10:31):
Or anything like that. But the other important thing about.
Speaker 3 (10:34):
Our bag on valve we move this into our graffiti removers,
so we have our Smart Strip porous and Smart Strip
Smooth graffiti removers. And the nice thing about these these
work very quickly. And the interesting thing is is we've
been getting in a lot of with our commercial industrial people.
(10:55):
They love this because you can use it indoors, schools
of it because you can use it in the locker right, right,
So it checks off a lot of boxes because it's
either very very low voc product. Okay again you don't
(11:17):
have the flammability issues that you would have with the
typical aerosol. So there's a lot of benefits to this
new product and it's been it's been actually taken up
very well at retail.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
Wow. Uh, that's exciting stuff. I mean. So the name
of the product is non aerosol bag on valve, I
mean that's technology. Is that the product's name too?
Speaker 4 (11:40):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (11:40):
So with smart Strip Advanced bag on valve or non aerosolve,
we want, yeah, we want people to understand that it's
not an aerosol, okay, So that's why we call it
a non aerosolt, but technically it's called bag on valve,
so people do understand it's just a bag in there
as well.
Speaker 2 (11:59):
So in other words, it's a non aerosol smart strip
advanced spray aerosol Smart Strip Pro and a graffiti remover
and you can use indoors or outdoors. And then you
got the performance paper. I mean you're all set to
go six to eight feet. That's a good size. Uh,
(12:19):
it's a good sized canister, it really is.
Speaker 3 (12:23):
And you know, our technologies that we're developing and we
have a few commercial products coming out. One of our
one that's been a huge hit for us is line
stripe remover. There contractors out there they have to move remove.
Speaker 4 (12:36):
Line stripes and parking lots.
Speaker 3 (12:38):
Yep, you put it on, you put the paper over,
you come back, you peel it up, and you wash
it off with water, so now you're not grinding sand blasting,
so you don't see the where the lines used to be.
So you know, we're we're we're evolving every day. We're
trying to look for new technologies, things that that are
a little bit different in the market.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
Well, I guess the one thing everybody I was asking
we got about a minute ago, is where do we
pick up the demand global products, the Smart Strip Advance,
the Smart Strip Pro, the graffiti remover with the non
aerosol bag on valve technology.
Speaker 3 (13:12):
