Speaker 1 (00:00):
Joe, you're on with Quinn and Ken Terra in Albany. Joe!
How are you?

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Welcome to the show. Boy, you're hot right now, Joe Coy.
Blue in the face on Netflix right now, then you're
going to be in town in Albany. What's it like
to be so hot, Joe?

Speaker 1 (00:16):
You know, it's so crazy right now with Netflix dropping
and just how that special was received, man. Like, number
two out the gate and stayed on the top 10
for two weeks man that was that was crazy dude
and the response has been beautiful it's my favorite special hands.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
Down but isn't isn't always isn't your latest special always
going to be your late your favorite hopefully yeah you.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
Don't don't lie that's how i say it every time
i drop a special but uh this one i know
it's so dear to my heart you know my my
my stepdad passed away and you know, about a couple
years ago. And, you know, I dedicated this one to him.
You know, the closing bit is on Fred. So it's
kind of dear to my heart, and the way it's

(01:04):
been received has been so great.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Joe, a lot of stuff I could relate to in there.
You've got a couple of dogs.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
I'm a dog guy.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
Also, you and I both worked at McDonald's, and for
most of my life I've questioned them throwing away chicken
nuggets when they're perfectly legitimate to eat.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
Bro, when you're broke and you're working at McDonald's, you know,
first of all, they know we're stealing food. They do
know that. Of course. So let's get that out of there. Like,
when they hire you, they should just be like, hey, look,
how many nuggets you plan on stealing? And I'll be honest.
I'll tell them. Probably five to six a shift. But
I got caught, and that was one of the worst

(01:44):
days of my life, man.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
Oh, I'm sorry, man.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
McDonald's. Worst day of my life, man, when she walked
me back in. I swear.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Comedian Joe Coy, he's coming to the Albany Palace, Palace
in Albany on November 22nd. Were you and your son
at Ozzy's last show?

Speaker 1 (02:01):
Yep. That was the coolest moment ever.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
Your son is a huge fan, I read.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
It was nuts, dude. My son is a massive Ozzy fan. And,
you know, just making that happen was crazy. Shout out
to Meg, tour manager for it. uh, Pantera, but, uh,
hooked it all up completely backstage passes. By the way,
they didn't have backstage passes. Like this was like the

(02:28):
most ultimate backstage pass. Like the only people that were
allowed backstage were the people performing. So it was like
Metallica was back there. Uh, uh, guns and roses was
back there. um like i can't even think of all
the the bands.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Right now uh well how did you get back there
joe coy how did you get back these joe coy bro.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
Well uh yeah yeah i'm joe coy no no uh
yeah um thanks for uh you know there's a you
know charlie the drummer from uh pantera uh and of
course uh uh bag the tour they were they're huge
fans and They were able to make this work, and,
you know, they gave me their credentials. It was crazy, bro. Like,

(03:13):
it's just nuts to even say this to you on
the phone because it just doesn't even sound real. But, yeah, like,
not only did we go to it, but we were
one of the few that got to take a picture
with them. That was the craziest thing.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
That is a great– I was looking at your Instagram earlier.
That is a great picture of you and your family
in Ozzie right there. You address your– Sorry, Joe.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
What were you saying?

Speaker 2 (03:38):
You addressed your teeth, by the way, in this special.
And I'm so glad. I don't know if you've addressed
them before. Have you before? I once was not aware.
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
Yeah, I know. It's just the one thing that I
wanted to do in this special was we live in
a time where there's so much hate and people get
off on celebrating people's failures now instead of championing people's wins. And,
you know, and I think you got to the point
where they don't even know they're being mean or offensive

(04:11):
to people and say things, you know, before they even
know what actually happened. And so through the special, I
just give them a series of stories. And I'm like, yeah, let's,
you know, once you hear the story, then go ahead
and judge. Once you find out what happened to me
first and see if that justifies what you say, you know, because.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
It's a good point.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
You always talk about how white my teeth are. And
I'm like, yeah, but do you want to know what happened?
Before you say something so, you know, what you think
is funny and mean, won't you find out about how
I almost died falling on a rock and breaking my
face open and knocking out all six of my teeth?

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
And we'll take it from there and see.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
If this still has the same hopes.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
You know, for you to say something so freely about somebody.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
But they're so white, Joe. We live in a generation.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
Now where we're– where we live in a headline generation,
and it's very lazy and it's very dangerous because you
read the headline and then you make an opinion and
then you say something without any type of, you know,
without any knowledge. And it's not that hard. If you
just Google something, you can probably find out more information
to make your own opinion. And that's all I'm trying

(05:19):
to do with this special. It's like, you know, don't
be so quick to judge. Find out someone's story.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
Don't be so quick to judge.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
There's lessons in this.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
So I don't know what your relationship is currently with
Chelsea Handler, but you had to be proud of her
for standing up for the women who were getting bagged
on in that Kevin Hart roast earlier.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
Well, you know, me and Chelsea are always going to
be friends. That's one of my proudest moments was being
able to direct her last special. So if you guys
watch her Netflix special, just look at the credits. You'll
see jokes.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
I will.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
I will. As director.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
Awesome. Thanks, Joe.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
See you later, Joe.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
Joe Coy, everybody. Go check out the special on Netflix.
It's PIX106.
