Justin Tighe-Umbers on MIQ being extended - Holiday Breakfast

Holiday Breakfast

Airlines are feeling the turbulence after recent border changes.
The start of non-MIQ travel has been delayed to late February, impacting tens of thousands of travellers.
And, anyone coming to New Zealand in the meantime will have to do 10 days isolation in MIQ instead of seven.
Director of the board of airline representatives Justin Tighe-Umbers told Tim Dower people won't want to come here even with seven days isolation.
“We need to see those markers put out front, and everyone understands, alright if a new variant comes along then you have to respond, but we’re just calling for that improved certainty in the meantime.”
