Speaker 1 (00:00):
Today is a free comedy Friday, and it's one that
I have literally circled like about a month ago. Then
I saw that Michael Yo is back in my house.
I went, oh, yeah, this is gonna be a good day.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Man.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
You just played Man in the Box yep, is that
about Thorst's baby?

Speaker 2 (00:17):
You know what it might be?

Speaker 1 (00:19):
It might be Listen Michael Yo performing at the La
joya comedy store. Got a couple of shows tonight, I
would say, a couple of shows tomorrow, and one was
already sold out.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
This was just sold out to did you oh my.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
The first show tonight, sold out, second show, and you're
blowing up my way ahead of last year. And I
was so bumped because last year I came, we sold
out all five shows, but I didn't come on this
show because y'all were out of town.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
What holiday?

Speaker 3 (00:42):
Oh that stinks wow, because I really look forward to
seeing it.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
I know, man, You're like, legitimately, we've been doing free
comedy Friday Friday, right, I went fifteen years and I
can legitimately say there are a few comics that come
in here that I consider actual friends. And Michael Yo
is one of those guys. Man, He's one of those.
That's my boy, that's my boy. And so I was
the only thing that I was kind of disappointed in
is you weren't going to see thor because literally this

(01:09):
happened this week.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Michael. No, he had eleven pound This thing is a
month monster. It's crazy.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
Like my wife, our baby was only like six pounds.
Yeah yeah, mine was seven. Yeah, that standard standard. And
my wife did it with no epidural. Oh really because
the second one comes out fast, slid out.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
She was walking.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
It just came out, and I was yelling at the doctor.
I was like, it's coming. They said it's gonna and
literally our doctor couldn't even make it to the hospital.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
No wowow, she was in there like twenty eight minutes.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
She got in literally had the baby and there we
got to get her in like you had the.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
Baby, wow, one pushing it out, one push, it flew out.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
It's crazy. That's crazy.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
Yeah, not a little different story with eleven pounder. You
how long was that? So they they were going to
do a scheduled sea section, and then the night before
the actual sea section was supposed to take place, she
started having a little bit of complications and things like that,
and so they said, all right, come in, let's get
this baby out of you. And so no, no.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
No, you push.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:19):
Thor was freaking out because they were talking about it
should we try or should.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
The doctor.

Speaker 4 (02:28):
And the doctor was saying that the baby can like
break its shoulder on the way out and doors, like,
I don't want his pitching arm.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
To bes.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
To me, it's like trying to sneeze out a full watermelon.
You can't get how's that going through my nostrils? That
ain't coming out? Coming out a peak of it? Maybe
that thing ain't coming out?

Speaker 3 (02:50):
Man.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
So an eleven pounder and and he's like two feet already.
It's like insane. It doesn't make sense almost how tall is.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
Door is not tall? I mean he is like five
nine five, you know, And.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
So a lot of babies start off fast. Yeah, and
then he continues a nine ft tall Yes, like we
looked it up.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
Shack shack was was an eight pounder. So it doesn't matter.
It doesn't matter.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
I have a friend whose daughter is she's about five
five and her husband's about five eight.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
But their daughters so tall in second second grade? Yeah grade?
Is my son in second grade? Great? Whatever? One of
those grades that eight year old is yeah, and this
girl towers above everybody.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
And the mom was like I was the same way,
but then in fourth grade I stopped just stop and
just stopped growing. Yeah, And I'm not wishing that on
Thor's or anything. I'm just second it could happen.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
We're just saying that that's it's not normal, like like
Thor is not an NBA player, Like this isn't this
is coming out of nowhere.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
It's not normal to give birth to assumo wrestling. Honestly,
this baby is giant. Man.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
I was gonna, you know what, I pitched the TV
show so this is like you won all these shows.
I forgot TLC or is when they were showing like
crazy things that happened my.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
Six hundred pound baby.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
Yes, it's always going to do my my uh I
think it was eleven pound baby. We're gonna do a
show about bursts of eleven pound baby baby. And then
the network loved it, and then they called me and go,
that's not big enough. I go, there were really like
fifteen pounds. I like, well, man, that's been my funny.
I find a lot of stories and a lot of
bursts of eleven pound babies. But you can't like thirteen fourteen, fifteen.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
Pounds' Hey that's a Thanksgiving turkey, Like that's crazy.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
Yeah, we're these males at the network that said eleven
isn't big enough, because I bet if they were female
actively they'd be like, that's plenty big.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
It was fifteen years so it's probably men. Yeah, yeah,
they don't figure enough. No, they don't have the gravity
of what that means. Yeah, I don't understand it. So
I know Thor is bummed that he didn't get to
see you.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
But I'm so bummed about Thor because after we had
that talk about the Rock, I never saw the Rock
again because I stopped doing entertainment news.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
My friends see the Rock all the time. Yeah, and I.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
Stopped because the Rock is was like, you can't interview
me anymore to be a star. Yeah, So I quit
entertainment news and I just started my own thing.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
And I haven't seen him since. That's crazy. Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
One of Michael's most famous appearances on this show was
he tweeted at the Rock or told him to tweet.
Authority did and it was like one of the Door's
greatest moment of this baby thing, who cares Rock tweeting
him that was a bigger deal.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
I promised that if I ever see the rocking person,
the first thing that's going to go through my mind
is getting the video of the rock saying what's upthing, dude.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
If that happens, honestly, he'll he'll die.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
He could die, and I believe you I see him,
that would be the first thing. That's that's really weird
my class because when I promised something, I want to
make it happen. I see all my friends take pictures
with the rock and I'm like, God, if I see
it one more time, that's my first door.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
I need a video. It's crazy.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
You gotta go see Michael perform at the Loyal Colony
store a couple well again, a show tonight, a show
tomorrow night, and a Sunday show as well. Get your
tickets because they're selling out and they will sell out.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
First show tonight is sold out, first show tomorrow sold out.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
Second ones were very close, So get on them right now. Tickets.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
It so Michael, you know, I remember literally circling on
the calendar when I found out you were coming, and
it was like it was like at it is, I'll
admit it, and it was about a month ago. You're
beloved Miami Hurricanes. At that time, I'm sorry, bro, I'm sorry.

(06:41):
Wait wait no, no, no, no, no, no, there's a method
to my madness because a month ago, this hurts so
bad that you was killing it. They were literally like
the second ranked team in the nation. And at that
time I was like, oh, I can't wait to talk
to Michael, like this is going to be crazy, like
there in it, like this is gonna be they may

(07:01):
go national championship. And then the last two weeks happened
and it's oh, it's been a disaster two out of
three weeks, Like what.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
The hell happened? I am like like.

Speaker 3 (07:13):
Like, I am so hurt. I know my wife, I
was like, I really take it personally, is again like
thoring this giant So yes, it's so weird to be
so attached to a school.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
Yeah. And I didn't even go there.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
It wasn't even good enough to make their fork, But
I grew up with them for the University of Arkansas,
and I got too many concussions I had to quit.
But I always reverted back to Miami Hurricanes in the
eighties nineties when early to you man, it was huge
it's the you best documentary on thirty on thirty.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
But it's all about that.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
Man.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
I was so hurt over the last two or three games,
and I'm just like, let's win the last four and
let's see where.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
You could still get it if you get into the playoffs,
and you know, you never know what's gonna happen if
we win the next four and Notre Dames the next A. Uh,
we're both ten and two. They better put us in
because we.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
Beat you beat them. Yeah, yeah, this last ranking. Yeah.
The reason why I bring it up, and there was
a reason.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
The reason why I brought it up is because I
legitimately wanted to ask you about one particular thing, and
that is Michael Irvin. Michael, like, okay, this is Michael
Irvin is a madman on the side.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
He's crazy.

Speaker 1 (08:31):
He goes to almost every game. Obviously, he's a former
player and all that stuff. Michael Michael Yo has been
to many games, sidelines and stuff like that.

Speaker 5 (08:39):
Michael Irvin is a huge Sharking fan as well.

Speaker 1 (08:42):
He's a former player, Hall of Famer, one of the
greatest wide receivers of all time. But but if you
watch him on TV, he's a crazy person and NonStop.
He's a former cowboy. I think we know what's up.
That's all I'm gonna say. That's all I'm gonna say.
So do you know Michael Irvan? Have you met him?

Speaker 3 (09:06):
And Michael Irvan got three times and he was pumped up,
just like he is the same thing that you see energy.
He's energetic kid like you've seen him crawl like a dog.
On the side, he's my ego.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
You gotta tell me, what's do you He's crazy. I
want to look up videos of him on the side.

Speaker 3 (09:26):
I love him and he does his own podcast. I
absolutely love Michael. I loved the old school uh buying
me place because they have swagged their nuts. But you
can't do that today. No coaches can't yell at kids anymore.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
It's different.

Speaker 3 (09:41):
It's weird to watch coaches that used to yell at kids,
like there's tons of videos of Mario Chris Bau yelling at.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
Can't do that anymore.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
Honestly, they just sit there because these kids and it's good.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
Look.

Speaker 3 (09:52):
A lot of people make fun of kids today like
they're too sensitive, But guess who made them sensitive?

Speaker 2 (09:57):
Us parents? We caused this.

Speaker 3 (10:01):
Yeah, we're the reasons beat and abuse so much from
like we got to be easy on these kids. Yeah,
will be a little bit harder on their kids, and
it will be in the middle. I think our kids
when they grow up and have kids, they will be
at the spot where it needs to be.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
It's tricky because overcome.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
I've coached a little league for nine years with my son,
and you have to be careful because they're kids, you know.
But if there's kids that are not acting appropriately or whatever,
and I put a little base in my voice, you
literally see they haven't.

Speaker 2 (10:33):
They're not used to that. Like you've seen the change
nine years ago. You could beat them. Oh yeah, take
them out. You can't do it. I can't do it.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
Even asking them to take a lap is like unheard
of it. You're just like, wait, whoa, whoa.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
My son plays baseball.

Speaker 3 (10:49):
Yeah, and there's a coach, his head coach can tell
what you know. He's so intense and wants to yell out.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
I'm literally pacing back forth in the dugout.

Speaker 2 (11:01):
Yeah, he's like, you're.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
Gonna lose your mind because he wants to say all
kinds of men when I'm out there and I'm on
third base, you know, third base coach. And you'll see
me at one point and I'll just stand there with
my arms folded and you can feel the steam coming
out of my ears, but I can't say anything. I'm
just like steaming inside. Hold your son he is thirteen thirteen?

Speaker 3 (11:22):
Now, Okay, when did you When did you realize he
was wanted to play baseball?

Speaker 1 (11:27):
So we started at te ball. So we've been together
and I've been coaching for nine years, and we've been
doing this whole thing together for nine years, and so
this is our last run. And then I sent him
off the high school. Okay, So I got a father
question for you.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
Okay, when I was growing up, my parents didn't put
me in anything till I asked to be put in. Okay, us,
as parents, we are putting them into everything. Have you
ever saw your kid play a sport not passionate about
it and been like, hey, we should take him out
because I'm wasting money. But he wants to play because

(11:58):
he's having fun. But he's like not.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
So I haven't run into that situation. But my girl,
Emily here, you want to her son has literally played
every sport from baseball, basketball, football, jiu.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
Jitsu, BMX rac I would love.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
For you to add up the amount of equipment and
money you've spent insane.

Speaker 5 (12:23):
We have pulled him from a couple of different things
before because he just hated it. But baseball is something
that he wants to play. But at the same time,
he doesn't put tons of effort to some struggles.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
Some struggles.

Speaker 5 (12:34):
So he's trying out for high school team this year.
He's a freshman in high school, but he's in the
tryout things. He's working out with the team, and so
he wanted new cleats, and I said, I'm not buying
the new cleats until you make the team.

Speaker 2 (12:44):
Of course, I think that's fair. That's fair.

Speaker 3 (12:47):
Like my son's eight, Okay, it's hard for me to
spend money on stuff. He doesn't kids don't watch the
sports on TV.

Speaker 2 (13:00):
Like everything. He's like a world.

Speaker 3 (13:02):
Champion in Ninja Ninja Layer, Like that's the thing, American
Ninja Warrior. He won the world championship and he's a
Is that for real? That okay?

Speaker 2 (13:13):
For real?

Speaker 1 (13:14):
Yes, Well that's insane for eight year eight year olds.
He's a world division that's crazy.

Speaker 2 (13:20):
Kids from all over the world game. So maybe Ninja Warrior, Yeah,
pretty much.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
Yeah, for kids, that's awesome. So he can fly around
and strong, he's super athletic. But with sports there's no
pat like I can see him when he does practice
in Ninja layer or loving it. Always wants to go baseball.
It's kind of like you want to play. I like it,
I don't like it, and it's like he's my friend
on the team. Additionally, started baseball because he thought he

(13:47):
was going to be on his friends team and then
he wasn't and then but he's stuck with it, which
shocked Yes, So I'm like, do we let him play?
He's not great, he's learning like he's never watched baseball's
literally learning for the first.

Speaker 1 (13:59):
Time as a And I've coached many eight year olds
and doing like that. I always say, if they want
to show up, I'll coach them. It doesn't matter. I
don't care what level they are. It doesn't matter. It's
to me, it's showing up. You show up your I
love that. I think that's fantastic. I don't care what
level you are, it does not matter. Especially they're eight.

(14:19):
What we are we trying to win the World Series
here the Padre. I know as parents, you guys all
want that and you want them to, you know, literally
think the Padre Scouts are there or whatever.

Speaker 4 (14:30):
They're not there.

Speaker 1 (14:34):
And little Timmy is going to be picking flowers in
the outfield and spinning around and it's okay, it's okay.

Speaker 2 (14:40):
I swear. I think my son's going to get hit.
He probably will.

Speaker 3 (14:46):
He probably will, but if he shows up again, my love,
my wife has the opposite opinion because she thinks the
more stuff we put him in, the less time he's
on a computer.

Speaker 2 (14:57):
That's true that. I love that, man, Amen on that.

Speaker 1 (15:02):
So before you got to go, Michael, I got to
talk about your new projects and everything that you're doing,
because I think it's fantastic man talking about it.

Speaker 3 (15:10):
So I host a show called Scrambled Up. I think
it's on on the c W, and we got the
ratings from CW. It's up three percent.

Speaker 2 (15:19):
Dude.

Speaker 3 (15:19):
Yeah, So it's killing it out here, it's killing it
around the country. We shot one hundred and sixty episodes.

Speaker 2 (15:24):
Oh my gosh. So we shot it in four and
a half weeks.

Speaker 3 (15:27):
So we were shooting eight episodes a day something a day.

Speaker 1 (15:30):
So that day.

Speaker 3 (15:32):
Actually I was really fast at it. So from like
nikeked bang them out nine to six like.

Speaker 4 (15:39):
A regular work day.

Speaker 2 (15:40):
Each episode take like about thirty minutes. Okay, whoa, that's crazy.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
Episode is twenty two minutes, so I give them eight
minutes to cut out whatever.

Speaker 2 (15:48):
But it was great. It was great. And uh, that
was my first game show and that's a dream job.
Yeah I've heard that before. It is so fun. Yeah,
so far, I absolutely get it.

Speaker 4 (15:57):
You do.

Speaker 2 (15:57):
You have freedom to kind of do your own thing
a little bit too.

Speaker 3 (16:00):
They give me space in the show to talk to
the contestants and have funny moments.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
And that's what I love.

Speaker 3 (16:06):
Because my dream is when Steve Harvey retires, I'm putting
in the universe.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
I want to do the Family Feud. There it is. Oh,
let's make that happen.

Speaker 3 (16:14):
Dude, scrambled up my show and the Family Feud because
the director of the Family Feud, uh directed our show.

Speaker 2 (16:21):
Okay, so that's cool.

Speaker 1 (16:22):
You've got a little bit of connect there's like you'd
be great. Yeah, I'm excited, dude. That's awesome. Man, get
the rock on there, get the you know, listen, that's
so good. I'm so happy. I love when the good
things happen to good people. Man, Michael, you're the best
Man again. You got one show tonight that's not sold out,

(16:42):
one show tomorrow night that's not sold out, so get
your tickets right away, and of course a Sunday show
to go see Michael.

Speaker 3 (16:47):
He's the best, so much if I really miss you guys,
and I'm really so excited to be here.

Speaker 2 (16:51):
I was so happy to see you're the best. If
you're listening, I love you.

Speaker 1 (16:55):
There's a shout out and your big old baby
