Speaker 1 (00:00):
San Diego. Welcome to the show. New New Day is here,
and what better way to start it than.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
With the show's going to be great Bush Show. I
would like to introduce you.
Speaker 1 (00:11):
To the ringleader, Eddie. Here's the thing about Eddie you
need to know. Eddie doesn't have the ability to not
be Edie, the mother of this crew.
Speaker 3 (00:20):
Sky, I'm kind of miss meek, like you can almost
talk me into anything.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
Dore, I'm not a social butterfly, nor do I want
to be.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
And Emily, I.
Speaker 4 (00:28):
Am sometimes very very selfish and sometimes I'm actually very
very given.
Speaker 5 (00:33):
Welcome to the show on San diegos Rock station Rock.
Speaker 1 (00:37):
One oh five three. I feel like I'm losing it, man,
I don't know what the hell is going on. This
is the weirdest thing that I've experienced in a while.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
Makes no sense.
Speaker 1 (00:49):
So yesterday this was so strange. First of all, Sky
usually leaves a little bit after me, right, Like she
likes to do her busy work here in the office.
Speaker 4 (01:03):
She likes to make it look like she's working, like
really hard on the radio show, right, but she's really
just doing.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
What would she be doing?
Speaker 3 (01:10):
I don't know, but yeah, but it's true.
Speaker 6 (01:12):
Because people are sometimes I've had people say to me, wow,
first and first out. Yeah, but really, I'm like making
doctor's appointments, I'm paying online bills, bills are I'm checking
statuses of random things. I'm pricing airline flights like. Yeah,
I'm doing total personal busy work. But first and first
(01:34):
out or last out.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
I guess killing the game.
Speaker 3 (01:38):
Killing the game, That's what I do.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
You Yeah, And so you know, usually it is, you know,
maybe once a week that Sky will leave before me.
And so yesterday I had a couple of meetings or whatever,
and then I went back to the office and the
door was already kind of half closed. That's that's the
message that Skuy has left the building.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
Yes, I really, I don't know about this.
Speaker 6 (02:00):
I'm protecting the office by not even fully closing the door,
just leaving at a crack open just so, just so
no randos wandering and steal all of Eddie's goodies.
Speaker 7 (02:14):
Why not shut the door all the way?
Speaker 6 (02:15):
Uh, Because then I feel that's too confusing to aggress.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
Eddie has a hand, you could turn a hand.
Speaker 3 (02:21):
Yeah, but I'm also lost.
Speaker 6 (02:23):
Well, so that's my biggest concern, that I may autopile
it and lock it and I and I freaked.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
Over here is walking around keys in his pocket all
the time.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
Yeah, I don't think I'll make a freak show. Let go.
Speaker 6 (02:34):
So so the move is is half closed the door
and that I'm out.
Speaker 1 (02:39):
So I know Sky's gone. Yeah, And so I opened
the door to what looks like a murder scene.
Speaker 7 (02:45):
A murder.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
I don't even understand what the hell has gone on here.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
I look down and like, we have a couch in
our office, and right in front of the couch there
is a massive wet spot, not the little one. It
looks like a giant it wet spot like somebody spilled
an entire water bottle or coffee mug or some I
don't know what it is. And I'm like, oh man,
what the hell happened? And so I'm like, oh, that's crazy.
(03:12):
Sky spilled her water bottle or something on her way out.
And then as I look around the room, I see
it's everywhere, so clearly somebody I'm assuming Sky dropped her
water bottle and it like kind of exploded because it's
all over my chair, it's all over my desk, it's
all over my keyboard. I have my like laptop bag
(03:34):
that's on the couch. I put it there. When I
go back to the office, and it's like it's covered
in wetness, and I'm like, what the hell happened in here?
And so I immediately text guy, hey, did you spill something
in the office, and then like kind of not clean
it up, like what the hell? That's not like sky,
that's so weird, you know, And so I text her
(03:56):
like what happened? And then of course it takes like
an hour to respond.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
Why, Well, you know she's not sleeping.
Speaker 1 (04:03):
She uh again, I forgot she had her massage, her massage, Yeah,
and I haven't.
Speaker 7 (04:08):
If she hadn't had the massage, she still would take
that longer.
Speaker 6 (04:11):
Agree, Well, maybe not quite that long, but you're right early, Yeah, yeah,
I got. I got a text yesterday morning from my
massage gal saying.
Speaker 3 (04:20):
Hey, any chance she'll see yeah, oh right away?
Speaker 2 (04:24):
Right massage gal? Yeah, personal massage And.
Speaker 6 (04:30):
She's not a personal I go to a place, but
I've just found one gal I really like. And she
texted and any chance you could come in early? And
I said, well, I can't guarantee it because you never
know how long the Hot p one podcast is going
to go for After the show, I said, but as
soon as I wrap up, all head out the door.
And so I was in the middle of the massage
(04:51):
when the text came through, and it wasn't until I
got home where I saw Eddie's text. And yeah, I said,
did you spill something in the office? And I I know,
I don't think so.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
That weirded me out. So you don't think so, I mean,
this is a massive You.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
Would know if you spill something, you think, so.
Speaker 6 (05:11):
You know, well, I had just because right before I left,
I filled up.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
My early and not finishing your busy work.
Speaker 3 (05:18):
Well, I was moving fast.
Speaker 6 (05:20):
I was moving fast like Emily, and so the last
thing I had done before I left was filled up
my water bottle. But I screwed the top on so
and I didn't know the like how big the spill was,
So I thought maybe like a dropper too.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
Why would I tell you I don't know?
Speaker 6 (05:37):
Because maybe if it was directly on your bag and
you saw it and it like, I don't know, So
I said, no, I don't, I don't think.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
I don't think. So made me question Scott.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
It's such a sky answer.
Speaker 6 (05:48):
Oh, I could totally tell you didn't believe me, based
on your response weird response.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
Yeah, it's a weird response. I don't understand that. Yes
or no, either you know you spilled something or you
don't like that guy. It made me go huh.
Speaker 4 (06:04):
And if it was a droplet ed, he probably wouldn't
text I wouldn't.
Speaker 6 (06:08):
Yeah, I don't, I don't, I I don't know. I
just that was just my like gut response. But then
I could tell by your response that he was still
questioning it, because he goes, what really, question Mark? And
then he goes, there was a huge spill by the
couch and it was everywhere on my chair, on my bag,
on my.
Speaker 3 (06:26):
Desk, and and.
Speaker 6 (06:27):
Then I was like, oh, well that's definitely not me.
Speaker 1 (06:30):
You're sure now you're sure?
Speaker 3 (06:32):
Well yeah, like if I was like I don't believe.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
Events, yes, so as I'm like now cleaning up my area,
I guess I sort of believe Sky.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
I don't know he currently doesn't believe me.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
I noticed there is a roll of weird industrial paper
towels like once that you see like a mechanics like
the like blue you.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
Know what.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
Shop towels? Yeah, changing my oil, Yeah, we don't know
how to change it all. And so right here which
that's what Sky would have found.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
We have here are like.
Speaker 6 (07:10):
They don't do anything like gas station, bathroom paper twes.
Speaker 1 (07:13):
Yeah, those are where our go to towels are. So
now I'm like, oh, I think maybe the engineers came
into our office for some reason, and maybe he like
those guys are real shaky, man. You know, I don't
know what's going on with those guys, so like maybe
they I don't know, maybe they dropped their coffee or
something and spilled it and then kind of halpazardly cleaned
(07:34):
it up or what. I really don't understand what's going on.
And then Sky really has me spinning out because then
at that point I cleaned up my stuff and I leave,
and Sky texts me back and says, did you look up?
And I go, did I look up? Because there's a
building above us, you know, an office space above us,
(07:57):
and all.
Speaker 3 (07:57):
The pipes run through the ceiling. And it was.
Speaker 6 (08:00):
And the reason I asked that is because when we
went into our office yesterday, well because the roll of
paper towel the ceiling. Well, I'll tell you so, so
I hear the roll of paper towels and I immediately go, oh,
that's the engineers because we don't have access to a
quote roll of paper towels.
Speaker 3 (08:21):
And when I had walked into.
Speaker 6 (08:22):
The office yesterday, I specifically noticed it was like extra
cold in there, like like like the AC was pumping, and.
Speaker 1 (08:31):
It was it was probably murder, she wrote.
Speaker 6 (08:36):
So there's either a ghost in there or there's an
issue with the air conditioner.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
And so it was probably about five.
Speaker 5 (08:43):
Years by the way, a ghost or the air exactly,
it could be.
Speaker 6 (08:51):
So, and it was probably about five years ago. I
came in early in the morning.
Speaker 3 (08:57):
And we're going back deep and the.
Speaker 6 (09:00):
Ceiling was leaking because the AC line had frozen up.
And me and Mike Usher from over across the the
ams across the way, Him and I were getting trash
cans and we were like getting.
Speaker 3 (09:15):
All the drills.
Speaker 2 (09:16):
That was a big That was a big deal around here.
Speaker 5 (09:18):
But it wasn't just but I remember that that wasn't
just our office.
Speaker 2 (09:22):
That was all over the building.
Speaker 3 (09:23):
Right right.
Speaker 6 (09:24):
But I'm but I'm thinking, like so my thought, Yeah,
So my thought is that I'm gonna come in in
the morning and this morning and there's gonna be ceiling
tiles removed. Yeah, it's gonna be like a movie, there's
gonna be trash cans catching water everywhere.
Speaker 1 (09:39):
So that's why the doors just floater or what ghost
or ghost clearly.
Speaker 3 (09:48):
So that's why I asked Eddie if he looks up.
Speaker 1 (09:51):
Well and I and I respond, no, I think I
would have noticed that, you know what I mean, something
stripping down. I mean I would have seen. But it
got me like spin it off, like did I not
look up? Like what is going on? Like what is that?
What the hell?
Speaker 2 (10:05):
I want to hear more of Sky's crazy conspiracy.
Speaker 6 (10:09):
No, I was telling the Boo I didn't know what
I was gonna walk into this morning. Last night, I
was telling my husband, I'm like, I don't know what
I go. I bet the A C line froze up
and that it flooded.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
AI. Yeah, yeah, I don't know what the hell. I'm
so confused. I don't understand what is going on. I
still don't know what the hell it was because we
walk in this morning and this you know, all the
spills dried up and whatever, and I still have no idea.
Speaker 6 (10:40):
Well, the floor is not technically dry because, as you know,
in the morning, I wear socks with flip flops, and
then when I get into the office. I take my
flip flops off and do some stretching in my socks,
and the bottom of my socks got wet.
Speaker 1 (10:55):
So this is why she gets here so early.
Speaker 3 (10:58):
I stretch.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
She gets her early for stretching leaves because she's doing
her busy work. It's a personal it has nothing to
do with work.
Speaker 3 (11:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
First and last, I feel like now is the best
time to say this. The mystery can be solved. It
was me.
Speaker 6 (11:15):
Wait, Eddie's been I know Eddie's blaming me this whole time,
like even this morning, he responds.
Speaker 1 (11:22):
Deserve to be bla don't you weren't even on my
ring back. You don't go back to the office now,
it was it was a nightmare situation mother. Now half
he wouldn't it was half hazard, Yes, it was. Let
(11:42):
me explain, Eddie. I had so I had to be
at my Muay Thai class at eleven.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
Okay, we got done with the podcast ten.
Speaker 5 (11:49):
Fifteen, and then I was doing busy work, busy work
and happy stuff. And then I went back to the
break room to fill up my water bottle. Okay, you
used to hydrate, And then I was going the round kicks,
and then I was going to the office to get
my Celsius. We'll pick me up, like Emily. Walking back
(12:11):
to the office, everything's fine, And for some reason, I
thought I was carrying my water bottle by the handle
and it was working fine, and then out of nowhere
and it was totally filled. It just goes bo and
totally falls and once I guess not but but but
I carried it all the way through the production room
(12:32):
down the hallway, so I don't know how it must
have been the ghost knocked it.
Speaker 2 (12:37):
Out of my hands and water went everywhere. Yeah, I know,
because it's thirty two ounces.
Speaker 5 (12:43):
Yeah, so I kind of so I stand there for
a second and kind of look around, like nobody saw it.
Speaker 2 (12:48):
I could just leave, but I didn't.
Speaker 3 (12:50):
Oh my god, that's in our area.
Speaker 2 (12:54):
I think it's not.
Speaker 3 (12:58):
No, it's not everyone's.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
First of all, I didn't do that.
Speaker 5 (13:02):
I'm just saying that was my first thought. That's horrible,
because then I'm like, or maybe I set up a
camera and just to see everyone's reaction that comes in.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
But I didn't do that either, because I never have time.
Speaker 5 (13:12):
I gotta be more time, and you don't have a camera,
and I don't have a camera, So I'm like, well,
I need this is the paper towels we have our
gang anything I need more than that. So I go
back to the engineer office and I asked for like
if they had a big towel, like some towels or
something I could use to sop up this mess. And
one of the engineers grinned, which I didn't like so much,
like they were happy I did it.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
I actually actually they appreciate that. Like the grin.
Speaker 2 (13:37):
I almost said something.
Speaker 7 (13:39):
They were pumped that you screwed up to that.
Speaker 2 (13:41):
Yeah, it was like I get that. That's what they were.
That's how I feel right now.
Speaker 5 (13:47):
Emily loves some people get fire and people make mistakes.
If anyone succeeds, she hates anyone knows that. So they
give me those shop they called the shop towels, and
I grabbed those and I cut a bunch off the
roll and start putting them on and doing like as
if your dog pete on the floor.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
Yeah, and then I kind of hit Eddie's bag. I
didn't see you missed the spot I did. The the cousters.
Speaker 5 (14:17):
Nothing I could do about that was dried it that
was socked in the the keyboard and the chair I
didn't see. I was with the giant puddle that was there.
And then I hit a point when it was like
ten forty five and I was like, it's water, it
would dry.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
I gotta go.
Speaker 1 (14:32):
It was all over my bag. I mean it was
all over it.
Speaker 2 (14:34):
I thought I gave the bag. I didn't. Here's the deal.
I didn't want to pick up the bag and touch.
Speaker 5 (14:38):
It because I'm like, you know what I mean, doesn't
want you to touch it?
Speaker 1 (14:43):
Like what.
Speaker 5 (14:46):
Taking like a once over like a wax on wax
off not a great job. And then I and then
I was like, I gotta go. These roundhouses aren't gonna
kick themselves the hell out of it.
Speaker 6 (14:57):
No thought of loving a text being like hey bro Old,
like sorry you noticed the floor sopping wet.
Speaker 5 (15:03):
Part of me was hoping that he would see it
and not forget about it, but be like whatever.
Speaker 1 (15:10):
I mean. I couldn't. I couldn't sit in my chair.
Speaker 6 (15:14):
Wet of when Eddie brought this up at six oh one,
confessing and letting me take the blame for the last
fifteen minutes.
Speaker 2 (15:22):
Well but I heard you said, I don't think so
I was.
Speaker 1 (15:27):
I still kind of questioned it, okay, right, It is
such a weird response.
Speaker 5 (15:34):
Because you thought there was a point. I thought there
was a point where I'd like, maybe why saying that?
Speaker 1 (15:40):
Why say, well, mystery solved. I guess, But I mean
I had a ridiculous human blame. You're right, I guess. So, Okay,
I guess it's the ghost. It was so bad. We
know this. When Emily does something nice for somebody, you
better be ready with a thank you, yeah, or something
like a bottle of wine. Jee. Okay, she's not just
(16:04):
doing it out of the kindness of her own heart. Okay,
we're gonna see what happened yesterday when she did something
nice and didn't get the response she expected. When we
get back on the show, I'd walk with a five three.
So let's harken back a few times a few years ago,
when Emily once found a wallet and she did go through,
(16:30):
you know, kind of some steps to find the owner
of said wallet. Okay, which was very nice, What a
very nice of her to do that, because she could
have done whatever with it, But she went through some
steps and just found out whose wallet it was and whatever,
and turned out it was a person that like lived
down the street from where she found the wallet person
(16:52):
said all right, I'm coming to get it. She sent
like her kid to come pick up the wallet, and
Emily didn't receive anything in return, no reward.
Speaker 5 (17:05):
If if that was my wallet and Nancy drew over
here found out who that it was mine, I would
go and be an over thank you. I'd be like,
oh my god, thank you so much. I can't I
appreciate it so much. Blah blah blah. But that would
really be it. And I feel like Emily would be
happy with the over thank you, but then also be
(17:26):
a little annoyed that I didn't have a gift for her.
Speaker 1 (17:29):
Well. She said that. She said, she was like, you
could have given me a bottle of wine or something
that the direct quo.
Speaker 4 (17:36):
I feel thora's right, Eddie's recounting of the invent is right,
and everything's correct. I didn't like that it was somebody
else that was sent because I didn't get the oh
my god, so.
Speaker 2 (17:51):
Much like wallet, she needs to be applauded.
Speaker 7 (17:54):
That would have satiated me somewhat.
Speaker 4 (17:57):
There still would have been a little chuck because if
it was me I one hundred and it was in
South Park, it was at one of our really good
friend's houses.
Speaker 7 (18:06):
There's a liquor store right across the street.
Speaker 4 (18:08):
If it was me, I would have picked up a
nice little bottle of wine or a little like gift
of some sort.
Speaker 2 (18:13):
That's so crazy.
Speaker 1 (18:15):
Yeah, thank you, that's fine, but it's also like, you
can't expect that. I mean, you did something nice and
you're done. If you get something in return, that's great,
but if you don't, you can't bad about it.
Speaker 5 (18:27):
But I just think that's so crazy, crazy because I
do the same thing, going and picking up a gift
or something.
Speaker 1 (18:36):
You're the most charitable person in the world.
Speaker 5 (18:40):
Went on a spectrum of one to ten being over
the top, you're a hundred.
Speaker 2 (18:47):
You go way too far.
Speaker 5 (18:49):
You go to a couse party and bring like Christmas gifts,
you bring a flower, a plant, bottles of champaign.
Speaker 2 (18:56):
It's just you can't. You're just so over this.
Speaker 6 (19:00):
Yeah, I feel if you're invited someone's home, you always
have to show up with something. And then also, yes,
if you're thanking somebody and if they went out of
their way for you, I agree, it's.
Speaker 1 (19:09):
Nice, but you can't, as the person doing the good deed,
expect something.
Speaker 6 (19:13):
In reprec And I agree, I agree with that point,
but Thor claiming that Emily's wild for you know, doing
that for somebody else.
Speaker 3 (19:21):
I would do the same thing as said.
Speaker 2 (19:23):
I want to be clear.
Speaker 4 (19:24):
When I was doing the search to find the person's wallet,
I didn't have in my head in that moment, I
can't wait.
Speaker 2 (19:30):
It doesn't gift, it doesn't matter, doesn't at the end, Yeah,
it would have been.
Speaker 3 (19:33):
It was a letdown.
Speaker 1 (19:34):
Then I'm not done. Then we were at the grocery store.
Oh yeah, you got a cart or something and somebody
left there again was a wallet and you walked it
back into the store and gave it to the manager.
Manager said, oh, thank you, Okay, we'll try to find
the person. But you didn't get a reward. Again.
Speaker 7 (19:57):
Yeah, it was just not very like, oh, that's such
a a nice thing that you brought this in.
Speaker 1 (20:01):
You wanted all that.
Speaker 4 (20:02):
Yeah, because I kind of expected from the manager, I'm
not going to get into.
Speaker 2 (20:05):
Work for what is the manager care? But I didn't.
Speaker 4 (20:08):
I didn't get like that's so nicely. It was more
like a thanks, yeah, because.
Speaker 5 (20:14):
Baby, he's busy working. Oh thanks working. I mean I
get that he works at a store, he's the manager.
Speaker 1 (20:21):
She wants she wants.
Speaker 7 (20:22):
I didn't need him to go on the loudspeaker.
Speaker 2 (20:26):
I did anything.
Speaker 1 (20:27):
I just bottle cheerful.
Speaker 4 (20:30):
I didn't need the bottle wind and that would be nice,
but I didn't need it in that mode.
Speaker 7 (20:34):
Just like a.
Speaker 4 (20:35):
Sincere thank you. I'm a big fan of a sincere
thank you.
Speaker 5 (20:38):
I'm a you should become a big fan of just
doing things and not expecting nice things.
Speaker 2 (20:43):
Yeah, but you expect something in return.
Speaker 1 (20:46):
That's clear.
Speaker 2 (20:47):
I expect to thank you.
Speaker 3 (20:49):
You expect thank you.
Speaker 1 (20:50):
So yesterday this happened again. Not a wallet, not a wall.
Emily did something nice and didn't get the response he wanted.
Speaker 4 (21:00):
What happened, Yeah, I was going to my niece's softball game.
It was out of high school around town.
Speaker 2 (21:05):
And I had got.
Speaker 4 (21:07):
A link for my sister earlier in the day yesterday,
like in the morning, a link to buy tickets you
could buy I had a time online. Yeah, because it's
like a CIF thing and they sell tickets to these games,
and so I go, perfect, you could use Apple pay
on my phone, easy, breezy, let me just knock this
out really quick.
Speaker 7 (21:25):
So I bought them.
Speaker 4 (21:26):
Yesterday morning, I bought a ticket for myself, a ticket
for my man Robert and a ticket for my son Read.
And I wasn't really thinking clearly because there was a
chance that my son Read wasn't going to go. But
I just got the link for my sister and just
bought them just to get it out of the way.
It turns out my son couldn't go to the game
because he was going to go hang out with friends.
Speaker 7 (21:44):
So I had.
Speaker 2 (21:47):
It was the last day of school.
Speaker 3 (21:49):
There was bonfire plans.
Speaker 7 (21:52):
They love bonfires a lot. I don't know, so he
wasn't going to go.
Speaker 4 (22:00):
So but like you know what, those things you can't
return them once you buy a ticket or something like that.
Especially so I go, well, I don't whatever I'm walking
in and I go, I'm walking in.
Speaker 1 (22:09):
You don't call me.
Speaker 7 (22:10):
Oh it was a student ticket. It wasn't an adult damn.
Speaker 1 (22:15):
I'm really I could I could have thrown a hoodie
on act depressed my crosh. I could. I could have
passed some.
Speaker 7 (22:26):
Birket stocks and socks. That'd be really funny. Sorry, Edie,
I didn't think about you.
Speaker 4 (22:31):
And so we get there though, and I'm like, oh, well,
I have this ticket. If there's a kid I see
walking around behind me that that they're going to go
buy a ticket. I'll offer to them, and why why
not right away?
Speaker 7 (22:44):
And so I do.
Speaker 4 (22:45):
I see a father and what I think is a
father and a daughter that's probably around like read's age.
Speaker 7 (22:50):
They're walking in behind us, and I go with my phone.
Speaker 4 (22:53):
I had already used the ticket for myself and for Robert,
and I go with my phone and I go, hey,
I have an actual ticket.
Speaker 7 (22:58):
My son didn't end up coming to the game. Would
you like the ticket?
Speaker 4 (23:01):
And he goes, eh, like yeah, Like the dad wasn't
very charismatic, but he just said.
Speaker 7 (23:07):
Eh, kind of humble up yeah, And I go, are
you a student?
Speaker 4 (23:10):
Because she kind of like I couldn't tell if she
was like eighteen or twelve.
Speaker 3 (23:13):
Like it was when I kept telling she was Yeah,
she's good.
Speaker 7 (23:15):
Yeah, I'm in high school. Okay, cool.
Speaker 4 (23:17):
And so I go up to the lady who was
scanning the things, open my the ticket. She scans it
in and I that's it, and I and I'm Everything
happens really fast, but nobody says thank you to me.
The the daughter didn't say thank you, and the dad
didn't say thank you, and like that's insane to me,
Like I.
Speaker 7 (23:36):
Would like, who doesn't say thank you for that?
Speaker 4 (23:39):
And so that's when the ticket lady is thanking me profusely,
like oh, not like not profusely, but she goes, thank
you so much for doing that.
Speaker 7 (23:45):
That's really nice. So she sees what's going on.
Speaker 4 (23:48):
So I got my thank you, but people that's freaking insane.
Speaker 7 (23:53):
Like so I walk away like whatn't what?
Speaker 4 (23:56):
Like they kind of said thank you under their breath
as I was walking away, like, but it wasn't like
a directly like thank you so much.
Speaker 3 (24:04):
That great thank you for total that's so nice to save.
Speaker 2 (24:07):
Him seven blocks.
Speaker 5 (24:08):
Here's the problem, though, what if they would have said
thank you, Emily would have been like.
Speaker 2 (24:12):
They could have gave me some money for the ticket.
Speaker 1 (24:14):
I would I.
Speaker 2 (24:15):
Mean said that.
Speaker 1 (24:15):
I mean it wouldn't I.
Speaker 4 (24:17):
Mean it was such a I mean I wouldn't turn
it down.
Speaker 5 (24:20):
I would take I could have could have been one
of those little airplane bottles of liquord seven up. I
mean they could have they could have left the game,
gone on the liquor store and got me.
Speaker 2 (24:29):
And but that's not true.
Speaker 7 (24:31):
I would have a sincere thank you.
Speaker 1 (24:33):
Which sincere thank you so not just a thank.
Speaker 5 (24:36):
You I would have been if I would have went
thanks while you're throwing your hands thanks.
Speaker 7 (24:43):
Because that's the rude things you're like shaking your head.
Speaker 1 (24:45):
I would. I would.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
The way you're doing.
Speaker 3 (24:50):
There with the hands.
Speaker 2 (24:51):
So you give me the ticket? Do you want this ticket?
Sure you didn't. And then and then we thank you. Thanks.
Speaker 7 (24:58):
You're the biggest thank you person anyway.
Speaker 5 (24:59):
I I'm just I'm just letting you know, like I
show you the ticke, I go thanks, and then I
walk away.
Speaker 2 (25:04):
Is that good enough? Or do I have to do
to get on my knees and.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
Go Okay, to save our lives?
Speaker 7 (25:18):
Thank you?
Speaker 1 (25:19):
Okay, listen something nice. You got to give her the
right thank you or else. Yeah, it's over. We were
just talking about a local restaurant that was named as
one of the best in North America. This week. Now
there's a San Diego bar that has been named as
the best the best sports bar in the US. Which
(25:41):
one is it? Well, we're gonna find out coming up
next on the show Rocking to five three. So earlier
this week, we were just talking about a San Diego
restaurant that was named as one of the fifty best
in North America. It was a restaurant didn't, like Telmar
or something.
Speaker 3 (25:57):
Yea in the Grand del Mar Sky there every day.
Speaker 1 (26:03):
So that's pretty cool. Will I ever eat there? Probably not? No,
probably not, but cool? No, Yeah, you know, I like
to I like to know those.
Speaker 2 (26:11):
Don't always like to know them.
Speaker 1 (26:12):
I don't know, but we do I because I kind
of hope it's like one that I've been to before
every time, or like one that I might like, I'm
going to go there. That sounds really good. Yeah, and
I never do. But this is interesting because apparently there
is a San Diego bar that came in as the
number one best sports bar in all of the US,
(26:33):
which is insane because I feel like I would have
known this. Yeah, I mean, we've lived here forever. Like
how what I don't I can't even think of what
it could be. Yeah, and I know there's massive sports
bars around the US, ones that I mean they have
like just insane stuff or.
Speaker 3 (26:49):
Like three stories tall, and they're just well.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
Known or like because of how old they are or whatever.
I'm like, which one in San Diego would that be?
I don't. I don't even know. That seems weird.
Speaker 3 (27:00):
Well, so here's the thing.
Speaker 6 (27:02):
The headline is super misleading because the headline everywhere is
Yelp names the hundred best sports bars in the US
based on you know, rankings and reviews.
Speaker 3 (27:15):
And all that.
Speaker 6 (27:16):
But then if you read down, all they're talking about
is the upcoming World Cup and soccer games. And so
if I were to guess, because they basically say that
for these rankings, they also looked for specific keywords in
the reviews but didn't name the keywords.
Speaker 3 (27:37):
But the whole article talks about soccer.
Speaker 4 (27:40):
So it's not a place people are going to watch
the NFL necessarily.
Speaker 6 (27:43):
That's the vibe I'm getting once you read deeper under
the headline.
Speaker 4 (27:47):
Which will be the best sports bars in America.
Speaker 3 (27:49):
For watching soccer?
Speaker 6 (27:52):
Yeah, so's like I'm now now I'm out with this,
I'm sure. But even with that said, it's still crazy
that a San Diego spot comes in number one.
Speaker 3 (28:07):
So talking soccer, does that narrow went down for you?
Speaker 2 (28:12):
I have no idea area of the town.
Speaker 6 (28:16):
Well, this is I think little Italy downtown India Street,
specifically Shakespeare's Pub and Grill comes in as a number
one best sports bar in the US according to Yelp.
Speaker 3 (28:34):
Really did you know it? Yeah?
Speaker 7 (28:35):
I used to go there. I used to live around there.
Speaker 4 (28:36):
Oh, really local, like obviously a British bart I don't.
Speaker 7 (28:42):
Know the bartender.
Speaker 4 (28:43):
I didn't know that much, but they I mean, i'd
go there more to like eat, Like their chips are bombs.
Speaker 1 (28:48):
I've seen it. I've never been there.
Speaker 2 (28:49):
Yeah, it's a cool spot. Definitely a cool spot.
Speaker 1 (28:52):
Yeah, we have a lot of TVs and stuff. Yeah, okay, but.
Speaker 7 (28:54):
It's not like something that stuck out. I would never
have thought that at all.
Speaker 1 (28:57):
Cool.
Speaker 2 (28:58):
Yeah, he walks in there with whatzla.
Speaker 1 (29:10):
I think.
Speaker 3 (29:14):
I think there hoped if he mumbled it, no one.
Speaker 2 (29:16):
Would have.
Speaker 1 (29:19):
Venezuela there like.
Speaker 6 (29:22):
But in the article they specifically talk about, yes, the
fish and chips, Emily, the.
Speaker 4 (29:26):
Ships have to do with this sports bar should be
the best fishing chips bar.
Speaker 6 (29:31):
Yeah, the range of British ales. And then they go
into talking about the atmosphere when a soccer game is on,
about everybody cheering and the place getting.
Speaker 3 (29:44):
Loud and stuff like that. So that comes in as
the number one and then see it.
Speaker 1 (29:52):
But I'm not going to Shakespeare's to watch a Packers game.
Speaker 3 (29:55):
No, God doesn't sound like it.
Speaker 2 (29:57):
But every four years for the World Cup, you get pumped.
Speaker 3 (30:00):
Place pops off.
Speaker 2 (30:00):
Every four years.
Speaker 6 (30:02):
Well, they talk about soccer every you know, throughout the year,
and we only know about it really for the word Yeah,
so exactly. And then another spot makes the top one hundred.
Coming in twentieth. We have fair Play in North Park
on thirtieth Street, also making the list.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
Our sister station some sixty broadcast from there. Yeah, for
all the soccer games for someone. We have a soccer
team here in San Diego. Guy, I just assumed you
meant for a shot for no reason.
Speaker 2 (30:34):
Thank you, thank you.
Speaker 1 (30:36):
I'll enjoyed the World Cup. I guess there you go.
We're going to be there number one every day. Okay,
all right, who cares about the World Cup? When we're
talking about America America to fifty, That's all we care about, right, listen,
what cup we'll be here in America. But listen, this
is as big as it gets because it's going to
(30:58):
be Sky's Wheel of Food Food the America to fifty edition.
When we get back on the show at Rock with
a five three.
Speaker 6 (31:07):
All right, Sky Prub your hands together, are you.
Speaker 1 (31:11):
Ready for an American delight? Yeah, let's hear this. It's
time for Sky's Wheel of Food. It's time skyes Wheel
of Food.
Speaker 6 (31:24):
Guys food like nervous, splash, excited. I don't know which
way this is gonna go.
Speaker 1 (31:29):
We spin the wheel wherever it lands.
Speaker 4 (31:32):
Sky Guy's Wheel.
Speaker 2 (31:36):
Of Food.
Speaker 1 (31:39):
The America edition. This is fantastic.
Speaker 3 (31:42):
I tell you, I like how happy this theme makes you. Guys.
Speaker 1 (31:45):
I mean it's as good as a guess.
Speaker 7 (31:46):
You're like, we're all in the mode. We're celebrating, you.
Speaker 1 (31:49):
Know, America.
Speaker 3 (31:51):
Yes, it's I've heard about it once or twice. Yeah,
it's a thing.
Speaker 1 (31:54):
So we decided that the theme for Sky's Wheel of
Food for two fifty for the next month or so
will be celebrating American classics. Oh. This kicked off with
Sloppy Joe's, which this guy didn't understand.
Speaker 4 (32:13):
I was confused about talking about putting lettuce.
Speaker 6 (32:16):
On some crispy lettuces. Elevate that stupid okay, And.
Speaker 1 (32:21):
Then we tried hamburger helper.
Speaker 6 (32:23):
Oh oh that was some funky chemical noodle stuff.
Speaker 8 (32:28):
Guys.
Speaker 3 (32:29):
Noodles were created in a lab.
Speaker 7 (32:30):
Like literally, those.
Speaker 4 (32:31):
Two things are on every America table for as long
as decades.
Speaker 3 (32:36):
That was insane, radical lesson.
Speaker 6 (32:38):
Yeah, I don't think that has anything to do with
political belief American food.
Speaker 4 (32:43):
I don't.
Speaker 2 (32:44):
I don't think America.
Speaker 3 (32:47):
I don't wait Americle. Okay, I think my politics nothing
to do with this.
Speaker 1 (32:52):
Open the borders, open your mouth.
Speaker 3 (32:55):
That's not we're doing.
Speaker 1 (32:58):
We're doing.
Speaker 3 (32:58):
We're not doing.
Speaker 1 (32:59):
Okay, hey lady, what listen? What this is about America?
We're celebrating here, American classics all on the wheel. It's fantastic.
It's nostalgic too. I love it like it's a I
grew up with eating Sloppy Joe's. I grew up eating helpers,
still making for my kids to this day. I don't
understand who would hate that? Guided. So this is going
(33:21):
to hit. At one point, something's going to hit, and
Sky will love America again.
Speaker 3 (33:26):
Again.
Speaker 2 (33:26):
It doesn't mean Sky love America.
Speaker 1 (33:28):
That's what we're trying. I don't try.
Speaker 3 (33:30):
It's not that I don't love America.
Speaker 1 (33:31):
So, yes, the wheel has nothing but American classics on it,
so hopefully it'll land on something Sky will like. What
here we go, let's spin the wheel. Oh okay, well
not today, not today?
Speaker 3 (33:52):
Satan sorry, oh no, it's the Satan dish. Yeah, what
did Satan make?
Speaker 1 (33:56):
Satan made something that you are going to probably quit
the show over. But this is a classic. It's a classic.
Speaker 2 (34:04):
Hey you're gonna quit the show.
Speaker 1 (34:06):
It's possible.
Speaker 3 (34:07):
Oh hey, Baker, stop it.
Speaker 1 (34:10):
This is been on American kits and tables since probably
the fifties, if not even before then. I don't know.
It's been around forever. It is a classic. It is
something that has scarred my friend Emily. She's talked about
it before that her mom makes her eat this, and
(34:33):
made her eat this at one point she could not
get up from the dinner table because she would not
eat this. And it has scarred her and her sister,
And they have a nickname for it, which I'm not
gonna say. It is land did No.
Speaker 3 (34:48):
Please don't say it. Please don't say what I think you're.
Speaker 7 (34:50):
About to say.
Speaker 2 (34:51):
I don't know what he's gonna say.
Speaker 3 (34:52):
Oh you don't remember the story.
Speaker 6 (34:53):
I remember Emily telling the story vividly because I remember
thinking if I was Emily as a child, I would
have just moved out and become homeless, like rather than
have to sit at the table and eat this.
Speaker 1 (35:06):
Tuna casseroles.
Speaker 7 (35:07):
I'll screw you real.
Speaker 1 (35:10):
Tuna.
Speaker 2 (35:11):
I love tunas.
Speaker 1 (35:13):
Why not?
Speaker 2 (35:14):
I like it on a sandwich.
Speaker 7 (35:16):
That's I love can tuna tuna sandwich is delicious?
Speaker 2 (35:19):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (35:19):
What is it about the tuna casserole?
Speaker 2 (35:24):
Guys like tuna melt?
Speaker 1 (35:26):
I could do the same concept.
Speaker 7 (35:29):
It's it's so foul.
Speaker 2 (35:30):
It's just not It shouldn't exist.
Speaker 4 (35:33):
You shouldn't be mixing tuna noodles and like whatever else
they put in it.
Speaker 3 (35:36):
What do they put in it?
Speaker 6 (35:39):
No, my mom has never made it clear No, I've
never looked up a recipe for it to make it home. Clearly,
don't don't ever buy cantuna. It's not a thing in
my house.
Speaker 2 (35:49):
No.
Speaker 7 (35:50):
No, you like a cold tuna sandwich?
Speaker 3 (35:54):
I mean just meet me?
Speaker 1 (35:56):
Do you not know her? Yeah?
Speaker 7 (35:58):
Really healthy for you?
Speaker 3 (35:59):
I'm mixed with mayo?
Speaker 2 (36:00):
What stuff?
Speaker 9 (36:00):
Screw you?
Speaker 6 (36:02):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (36:02):
Really? Yeah? Much despise. I get it, but it's it's
not for me. I do. I've never liked tuna, so
this was not really a staple in my house. Every
once in a while I think like my grandma made it,
and like we'd go over there and be like, oh no.
Speaker 7 (36:21):
When you knew that she was having that. It's the
worst disastro city.
Speaker 3 (36:25):
What in there? It like seems I don't know, but
helper for tuna.
Speaker 1 (36:30):
There is tuna helper. Oh did you know that? That's yeah,
there's tuna helper. But that's not what this is a
real tuna cast.
Speaker 3 (36:38):
Role, Like there's no pre made packet you.
Speaker 1 (36:40):
I don't think so, No, Emily, what did you? What
did you? Guys? You and your sister call your moms.
Speaker 4 (36:46):
Sorry, I'm sorry to advanced guy because it's going to
stick in your mind while you're tasting the dish because
whatever was in it, and then now, as an adult
who knows about that's very I think maybe like cream
of mushroom soup was in it or something, because like
I think there's literally like little bits of brown mushrooms
(37:06):
that made it look like something else, like it was.
Speaker 1 (37:10):
Yeah, and you were forced to sit at the table like.
Speaker 7 (37:12):
I remember, like to your parents separating.
Speaker 2 (37:14):
Your dad couldn't take it anymore.
Speaker 7 (37:16):
I think my dad liked it. Oh my god, I
think my dad liked it.
Speaker 4 (37:19):
No, that's I don't think the tune of noddle castrole
is why my home was broken. There's other things going on.
My dad liked my sister and I like it like
I would. I couldn't get it down. Let's just say that.
Oh it was really hard to get. Sorry, very dramatic.
Speaker 6 (37:32):
My god, my eyes are starting to water. And I
haven't even seen it yet. I just just tearing about
it is.
Speaker 1 (37:38):
And so you've never had tunic castrole in your life, like,
never taste it or.
Speaker 2 (37:42):
Never seen it like on a table in my honestly,
never seen it.
Speaker 3 (37:45):
No, I've never seen it.
Speaker 1 (37:46):
You know you didn't grow up with it. I would
assume you.
Speaker 7 (37:48):
Yeah, me too, kind of.
Speaker 1 (37:49):
Yeah, that's because it's kind of like one of those things.
It's like easy to make and parents who work, you know,
you just kind of throw it in the oven and
then it's done and whatever. That's why it's an America classic.
Speaker 2 (38:01):
It's cheap too, so like that's another.
Speaker 5 (38:02):
Very cheap I don't know why didn't like it.
Speaker 7 (38:06):
Okay, this is such a sad day.
Speaker 1 (38:11):
So you've never had a tunic castle or tuna melt
or anything like that.
Speaker 6 (38:15):
My mom growing up would make tuna melts, and that's questionable.
So it was kind of like make your own tuna melt,
and so I would take the well, so like she'd
put out like toasted English muffins, the tuna mix pickles
and cheese and then you'd make them yourself and then
(38:37):
she'd throw them in the oven and basically I would
put like a teee like you couldn't even see the tuna.
It was basically a pickle cheese melt. And that for
me better. That's better than what's going on there. So
that's like the closest I've.
Speaker 3 (38:56):
Ever got to that world.
Speaker 1 (38:57):
All right, Well, here we go, Sky's ever bite of
the tuna cast role, which, man, that screams America.
Speaker 6 (39:05):
I don't think I'm excited for that.
Speaker 2 (39:08):
That looks the top?
Speaker 3 (39:11):
Are those potato chips?
Speaker 4 (39:12):
Like potato chips? That's what my mom used top it with.
Oh really, that's like the way the rest.
Speaker 1 (39:18):
Oh that I was not expecting potato chips.
Speaker 7 (39:21):
What do you like potato? I think there's peace in there.
Speaker 1 (39:26):
Okay, holy god, well you like potato chips? Here, there
you go.
Speaker 3 (39:30):
Here's a positive.
Speaker 5 (39:34):
Gross at seven in the morning.
Speaker 1 (39:39):
I'm sorry, I'm sorry there.
Speaker 6 (39:40):
Is once like positive because again, I've never seen this
dish before, so in my mind, I was thinking it
was going to be more like soupy creamy for some.
Speaker 1 (39:50):
Reason, like boogers. Well that's what Emily says. That's what
Emily says.
Speaker 6 (39:56):
I kind of set, so that's what I was in visioning.
This potato chip topper is is a plus.
Speaker 7 (40:03):
Oh, I'm not going to load up before your.
Speaker 3 (40:05):
Bit busy you have you have.
Speaker 2 (40:11):
Your right on your struggles, the busy coordinator. That is
a good point. Like, but that is a good point.
Speaker 3 (40:20):
But be nice to your friend.
Speaker 6 (40:22):
You may like it, Eddie, I'm going to slap you.
Speaker 7 (40:26):
But the piece of it's really the smell is a lot.
Speaker 1 (40:30):
It's very pungent.
Speaker 6 (40:33):
My like, literally my eyes are watering just because of
the smell in this.
Speaker 1 (40:36):
You may like it.
Speaker 3 (40:39):
You can't even say it with the street face.
Speaker 2 (40:42):
I just want you to eat. You can get it
out of the studio.
Speaker 1 (40:46):
This could be the roughest.
Speaker 7 (40:48):
One of all time, which is saying.
Speaker 1 (40:50):
It is or or you may like it.
Speaker 3 (40:55):
This stupid mouth. Oh, I feel so sad, defeating before
you even get in there. I feel sad for the
children of America.
Speaker 1 (41:04):
There's people that love this. I bet you my wife
would love this. I bet you she grew up with this,
and I bet you she would love this. She's tuna melts,
you know, whenever, not often, but I mean when she
when she she likes.
Speaker 3 (41:15):
I'm rethinking my friendship.
Speaker 1 (41:16):
I guarantee you if I text her right now, she
would say, I I grew up with Well, she.
Speaker 3 (41:20):
Should come in here and have a bite of this
for me.
Speaker 1 (41:22):
Okay, I'll call her right now.
Speaker 3 (41:23):
Okay, thank you.
Speaker 2 (41:25):
Well, we're gonna wait for your wife.
Speaker 1 (41:27):
Alcohol. Go ahead, by coordinator. Let's go ahead and dig in.
I would say, spoon makes more sense.
Speaker 6 (41:35):
It's getting more and more pungent as like the moments passed.
Speaker 1 (41:38):
You're going right in the middle, like the file A.
Speaker 3 (41:41):
Come on, we can't go to the side with a
bunch of chips. On is that cheese?
Speaker 1 (41:46):
What is that cheese? Tuna? Peas, potato chips? I don't
know what the hell is going on here. This is
the wildest thing I've ever seen. All Right, that's not bad.
That's not bad.
Speaker 2 (42:00):
Can you see it's brown?
Speaker 1 (42:02):
It is supposed to be paint.
Speaker 3 (42:04):
I thought, and the can was white.
Speaker 1 (42:08):
But when it's cooked, I think it turns that around.
Speaker 3 (42:10):
That the brown piece. I mean, it's that is that's
like what I don't even eat dark meat chicken.
Speaker 1 (42:16):
Can you grow up? Can you grow up? This is
for America? Do it for America?
Speaker 3 (42:22):
Come on, we're gonna move to I'll give up my citizens.
Speaker 1 (42:25):
Hey, listen, foods in other countries? Do you remember how
that went? Okay, let's go here we go doubt.
Speaker 3 (42:31):
That's a massive coffee.
Speaker 1 (42:34):
Okay, that's so. That makes so much closer. I want
to throw off because.
Speaker 3 (42:38):
Water won't cut. Whatever's about, dude?
Speaker 1 (42:40):
Whatever? Mixing coffee and tuna is bizarre? Okay, all right,
here we go down the hatch Tuna cast role three
two one, go get it in.
Speaker 3 (42:54):
You're a big girl, Get it in.
Speaker 1 (42:56):
I already said, she goes. Oh she's holding it in
her mouth. Don't hold it in your mouth? Are you insane?
Sitting at the dinner table, buggers, Emily, she's doing What
is she doing? Hey, you're not getting up from the
table until you finish that whole thing. Oh you're not
(43:19):
so nasty? Oh, sky's faces this? Dude? What is happening? Jump?
Throw up? You're fine, grow up? Come on, come on?
Oh man, Okay, why is.
Speaker 8 (43:35):
It?
Speaker 1 (43:36):
I don't know? I mean, why was it so hard?
Speaker 3 (43:38):
It's like the peer in there beer checking out.
Speaker 1 (43:43):
She's swishing her mouth with.
Speaker 2 (43:47):
Girl.
Speaker 1 (43:48):
Okay, go down, let's yes, that's so weird. Okay, American classic?
Speaker 6 (44:01):
Do you Oh that was so fishy and sand Okay,
so you don't like it?
Speaker 3 (44:08):
Oh and I got like no potato chip. I was
really hoping.
Speaker 2 (44:12):
I knocked a couple of thee.
Speaker 1 (44:14):
To be clear, not a fan will wow. All right,
well maybe next week America, We'll get you next week.
Maybe next week. The Padres are hoping to never play
the Phillies ever. Again, this has been beyond rough Man.
We're gonna see how the series with the Phillies wrapped
up next to his twister boy. Either the Padres are
(44:43):
in a full blown free for all or they just
hate playing the Phillies. I mean, it's bad. They were
swept by the Phillies yesterday after losing six to four.
They were once again down early as the Phillies jumped
out to a three to nothing lead. Zach Wheeler was dominant,
that is until Manny Machado finally got to him, hitting
(45:06):
a two run home run in these seventh to cut
the lead to three to two. Again you go all right,
here we go, Okay, maybe no Phillies. Then k Back
scored three runs off of Adrian Mody hone to increase
their lead. Jackson Merrill hit a two run home run
in the ninth, but that was too little, too late,
as they lost the game six to four. So they
(45:28):
were swept in the season series by the Phillies, losing
all six games. They've now lost five in a row,
nine out of their last ten, and as we sit
right now, they are out of the playoffs. Sad we
went from the division we were winning the division in
last month to now and we're not even in the
(45:51):
wild card hunting. I mean, it's this is bad. So
I don't know, man. They got to figure it out.
They got to turn it around again. There's so much
baseball still left. It's not the end of the world,
but it feels like it. You know, when you lose
nine out of ten, it's bad, really, ribb. It's not
fun to watch. It's not fun to watch. They're not
hitting it, you know, though usually reliable guys aren't coming through.
(46:13):
It's just terrible. So return home. They're gonna be taken
on the Mets in an interesting series this weekend. So
we'll see, man, we'll see. Hopefully they figured something out.
It's not good. The Yankees are gonna be without their
captain for a while. Aaron Judge has been diagnosed with
a fractured rib. Now he has missed three games with
(46:33):
it already, and they say he could miss a significant
amount of time because of this. This is actually good news,
they said. They thought it was something that it could
have been much worse, where he would have been done
for the season. But it's not. It's just this weird
rib thing.
Speaker 5 (46:49):
They say, maybe out two months. Yeah, so, I mean
they're good enough lineup and pitching. They just gotta kicked
their head above water. And wait, twa comes back probably
in all a. Guess Ben Rice is playing out of
his mind right now, so we'll see.
Speaker 2 (47:01):
It just stinks.
Speaker 1 (47:02):
Yeah. Of course he's.
Speaker 5 (47:03):
Thirty four, so you know he's only got a couple
of year or two left at a top level before
he starts fading a little bit.
Speaker 2 (47:08):
So it's kind of a bummer, but not good comes back.
Speaker 1 (47:11):
In August, the Hurricanes tied up the Stanley Cup Finals
with a four to three win over the Golden Knights
in overtime. Carolina scored three goals in the third period
to tie it up and send it into overtime. In
the game, Vegas defenseman Brayden McNabb took a puck to
the face. He had to leave the game obviously and
(47:32):
ended up having to go to the hospital because a
bit not good. No good. But the series is now
tied at one game apiece. Thor has been locked into
the Women's College Softball World Series. I'm sorry, that's right.
This doesn't seem quite light, but so you already know,
but we're gonna let you know that. Texas took down
(47:55):
Texas Tech four to one to win their second straight
national champion.
Speaker 2 (48:00):
I was on the Red Raider bandwagon Texas Tech.
Speaker 1 (48:03):
Texas won. He's sad because.
Speaker 5 (48:05):
Back to back for Texas, I was. I was on
the Red Raider bandwagon. Uh but mad red Texas Tech
Red Raiders.
Speaker 3 (48:13):
The Red Raiders, Yeah, okay, I.
Speaker 2 (48:15):
Mean they're a Texas, Texas big schools.
Speaker 3 (48:17):
I didn't so.
Speaker 2 (48:20):
Yeah, I was on the bandwagon for them, and CAITLYB.
Terry didn't pitch.
Speaker 1 (48:24):
Well, I'm sorry. Who.
Speaker 5 (48:27):
Yeah, Maya Williams is uh great hair, really showed up?
Speaker 1 (48:33):
How do you know?
Speaker 5 (48:33):
Nobody really showed up yesterday? It was sad, sad day.
Speaker 2 (48:36):
Okay, damn it. They were the first. They were the
highest seed they ever get that far.
Speaker 1 (48:40):
Eleventh seeds you uh normally don't really care for women's sports.
Speaker 2 (48:45):
That much softball got me locked in Bro's crazy. I
was locked in this team. There's something about this team.
No magical run, I would say, so okay, and the.
Speaker 1 (48:54):
Tragic though, sorry damn it, sorry man, damn And of
course tonight game two, Game one, this one as you
were the College World Series.
Speaker 5 (49:07):
Yeah, Spurs are talking a little bit of crap, basically
saying like I think the Spurs thought when they won
the Western Conference Finals that that was the championship and
they were just gonna run through the Knicks. Because the
Spurs were acting like we didn't play our best and
when we play our test, we're gonna beat this little
Nick team.
Speaker 2 (49:24):
So I really want the next two?
Speaker 1 (49:26):
Well you have always wanted the next time?
Speaker 5 (49:28):
Yeah, but I was okay with a split, obviously. Want
a sweep would be amazing because if they win this sweep,
it's a sweets.
Speaker 2 (49:38):
Spurs aren't winning.
Speaker 1 (49:38):
A game in New York.
Speaker 2 (49:39):
Yeah, he's getting nuts.
Speaker 1 (49:43):
There you go. That is sports dirt for today. Uh.
Bullying is always awful, right, I mean, when you hear
your kid is getting bullied, there's nothing worse because he
feels so helpless, right, or is there something worse? We're
gonna see what was asked in a question in a
about bullying coming up next on the show on Rock
with a five to three. I think everybody understands and
(50:08):
everybody knows how bad bullying is. I mean, bullying has
become such a bad epidemic and it's so bad for
our kids with their mental health and things like that.
It's just awful. And so when you hear, especially if
you hear that your kid is a victim of bullying,
there's nothing worse because there's only so much you can do,
and you feel helpless and you're like, well, man, you know,
(50:31):
I wish I could go down there and save them
and do something and step in, but you have to
kind of go through the proper channels, and you know,
it's tough, and it's tough.
Speaker 6 (50:39):
And most parents I've talked to who've dealt with this,
when they talk about the proper channels, they feel like
the proper channels are broken and they don't work enough,
and they don't really care and it's such a problem
that they can't really help everybody.
Speaker 3 (50:53):
And so, yeah, that sounds frustrating.
Speaker 1 (50:55):
Yeah, it's bad, obviously, so bad, But is that worse
than finding out your kid is the bully? Which is worse?
This question was asked, Nip, that's tough. What is worse
knowing that your kid is getting bullied or that your
kid is the doing the bully? Is the bully? Yeah?
Speaker 6 (51:15):
They asked what's the worst realization out of the two,
and they specifically say either a violent bully or violently
being bullied.
Speaker 3 (51:24):
This is easy for me.
Speaker 4 (51:28):
I don't understand how you could ever choose because they
both hit completely different parts of your heart strength.
Speaker 1 (51:32):
So this is this is so simple for me. For me,
I would much rather deal with my kid being the bully,
which is awful. I'll deal with it, though, and it
will be harsh. I'll deal with that kid and it'll
never happen again under my watch. And knowing that he
did that and whatever is so sad and makes me
(51:53):
so sad that I didn't raise you right. But I'll
take care of that done. It'll be done. Knowing my
kid is bullied that leads to so many things. Like
your kids who are the bullies, they don't commit suicide.
The kids who are being bullied end up could be dying.
So I'll deal with my kid being a bully, which
(52:13):
pisses me off on another level, and I'm so angry
about it. But he's not going to be the one
committing suicide. The kid who's being bullied, he may end
up dying because and so it's an Both are awful,
don't get me wrong, both are awful. But my kid
being bullied is so beyond heartbreaking and I feel so
(52:34):
helpless and it's awful that I don't know what to do.
I know what to do if my kid is the bully,
and it ain't going to be good. So it is
what it is. That's for me, So I don't know
what do you think, Emily.
Speaker 4 (52:47):
That's a really good point because I was literally I
couldn't make a decision on that because.
Speaker 3 (52:54):
This doesn't depend on.
Speaker 4 (52:56):
You completely like worked it out for me, because I
completely feel the same way, because I'd way rather be
super pissed and upset at my kid.
Speaker 7 (53:03):
I'm not gonna want to do any of it.
Speaker 4 (53:05):
Then the sickening feeling that I'd have in the depths
of my soul of how knowing that.
Speaker 1 (53:09):
He's I have a sickening feeling as well my kids bullying,
but it's a different sickening feeling.
Speaker 7 (53:14):
Great point, So I agree with you, all.
Speaker 1 (53:16):
Right, what do you think thor uh?
Speaker 5 (53:18):
I totally understand where you're coming from. Any my mindset
was different. My mindset was if my son is being bullied,
I had this is how I'm gonna fix it. We're
going to uh, We're gonna start doing self defense classes.
You have no choice. This is what I'm telling him. Anyway,
You're going to multai classes or jiu jitsu. You're gonna
learn how to defend yourself.
Speaker 1 (53:38):
So bullying a lot of the times isn't necessarily physical.
Speaker 5 (53:42):
Oh No, you're gonna tell him, you're gonna learn how
to defend yourself. And if they say something to you
and and you ask them to stop and they don't stop,
then you can put Then you can take care of
it yourself.
Speaker 2 (53:51):
Oh they're not.
Speaker 4 (53:51):
If they're not hitting him, he can't just all of
a sudden walk up and sock. He's gonna get and
I'm gonna get in trouble.
Speaker 2 (53:56):
Fine with it. I'm fine with that.
Speaker 5 (53:57):
If they're if they're bullying him to the extent where
he's where he feel bad about himself and he's crying,
then he's gonna he's gonna put an end to it,
and they ain't gonna bully him ever again because he
put it into it. I don't I don't care that
they didn't hit him, And that's what I'll tell the principle.
I don't give what do I care if if if you,
if you knock out the bully, they won't bully you anymore.
Speaker 2 (54:16):
End of story.
Speaker 1 (54:17):
So I feel, well, what do you think, Skuy?
Speaker 6 (54:20):
Yeah, I had the opposite take, I think though for
me initially, but Eddie kind of did you know get
in there a little bit with what you said. I'm like, wow,
those are things I didn't really think of. But I
would think it would be worse to find out my
kid is the bully, because in addition to having a problem,
you need to fix that maybe unfixable, you know what
(54:42):
I mean, Like like you can outside of locking them
in the house, like potentially some kids, no matter how
much you punish them, they're just gonna keep doing.
Speaker 3 (54:51):
It over and over and over again.
Speaker 6 (54:54):
I feel it's also kind of a reflection on the
parent too, like I'd be like, oh my god.
Speaker 1 (55:00):
It could be something you just happening, right, But.
Speaker 6 (55:03):
Even if I didn't know, and even if I'm the
sweetest parent, ever, i'd be like, oh my god, I
spawned that, I raised that, I put that out into
the world. It's all so for me, my first thought
was like, again, these are both horrific. I wouldn't want
to have to choose either of these things. But my
initial gut reaction was it would be worse to have
(55:25):
my kid be the violent bully. And no, my kid
has potentially driven somebody else's kid to consider suicide and
stuff like that. But then once you flipped it on me,
I'm like, that's the crazy thing too, Like yeah, like
how how much therapy and how and like what you
switch schools and like what does that kid have.
Speaker 3 (55:47):
To go to?
Speaker 5 (55:49):
You could that's just giving into the bully. Switching schools,
You're giving the bully what they want. And then I
wouldn't do that. I would put them in a get
them men only ready to prepared and self defense to
defend themselves.
Speaker 6 (56:03):
Yeah, And I don't know if this is the difference
anything between like boy and girls, because you know, you
talk about oh, of course there is, but you're talking
about words words, words, and then you're gonna tell your
kid to eventually just sock the kid in the face
or whatever. Like, as a girl, I don't know if
that's solving it. I almost feel like that's gonna make
(56:24):
it worse. And in the day of online bullying, that's
gonna bring more on them. You suck one kid in
the face, but they have a group of twenty friends
that money.
Speaker 3 (56:33):
Oh yeah, like these kids.
Speaker 6 (56:35):
Running packs, you know, some of the popular kids who
are total jerk faces. Ah so so my But my
initial gut reaction is it would be worse to be
the parent of the bully.
Speaker 1 (56:46):
Well, what were the results of the pull, because I
have no idea what.
Speaker 6 (56:50):
Yeah, Well, all the comments were saying a lot of
these things like I can't pick, like I keep changing
my mind. I think it's one thing, but then it's
the other. But the majority said it would be worse
for them to find out that they're the parent of
the violent bully. Sixty six percent said that, with thirty
two percent saying it would be worse to learn that
their kid was being violently bullied.
Speaker 1 (57:12):
Yeah. I mean they're obviously both are awful totally, and
so yeah, it's it's a lose lose, yeah, But to me, yeah,
I don't know, man, It's it's just too tough. Yeah,
all right, it is time for Free Comedy Friday. It's
going to be a big one because comedian Troy Bond
is when you hang out with us in studio when
we get back on the show at Rock with five
to three. So it is free Comedy Friday today and
(57:38):
we are very excited to have our next guest in
Troy Bond, who is going to be performing at the
American Comedy Company this weekend. A couple of shows tonight,
a couple of shows tomorrow night one am Marty sold
out though, oh so sorry about that. Sorry about that, Troy. Yeah,
you can leave if you want, imploy it. But yeah,
this is a very cool Troy. Thor is a massive
(57:59):
fan of yours. He's been talking about you for an
I've wanted to hear my se it does it HiT's differently, right,
It HiT's differently. Yeah, So Thors go into your show
no matter what. He's been telling me about you for
a while. And I feel like it's weird that you
and I don't know each other already, that we're not
already best friends. Because here are the three things that
I love the most in life. Okay, A number one.
(58:21):
As you can see, I'm immediately, I'm a massive Star
Wars fan. This is the way I'm as big of
a nerd as it gets, dude. So I'm I'm I'm
a massive Star Wars guy. I'm a massive Marvel guy.
And I grew up a Hue and still am a
wrestling fan. So Troy, I'm like, dude, let's let's bond
right now everything Eddy.
Speaker 4 (58:40):
Did you see his I read your bracelet on your
right hand? Does it say sith lord?
Speaker 1 (58:45):
Oh? Yeah, somebody gave me this last night.
Speaker 9 (58:49):
Someone gave me this, this, this other bracelet that has
like a quote from Moonnight that says like.
Speaker 1 (58:56):
People hand me that. I'm like, oh, that's really nice.
Speaker 9 (58:57):
And I'm like, why cant I get a quote that
says like, I'm I have to get like there was
chaos and there's a character that reminds me of you,
the schizophrenic dude who kills people sometimes.
Speaker 1 (59:08):
It feels great appreciate that.
Speaker 9 (59:10):
Those are the three things I grew up on, Star Wars, Marvel,
comic books. Yeah, wrestling. My dad was a When I
was a kid, my dad was a DJ. He was
an amateur pro wrestler. He going to karate school. Uh
and and he loved comic books, so he made no
money and and I they gave me the autism test.
They were like, maybe you're growing this year.
Speaker 1 (59:30):
My principal was rfk it too much Thailand. That was
The X Men, and so like I just I comedy
to me.
Speaker 9 (59:41):
When I was a kid, my dad, because he was
a DJ, he never listened to music and the car
he always listened to talk radio, and so like I
would be going to school, like repeating back talk radio
points about like the Iraq.
Speaker 1 (59:51):
Wars, like seven years old, super.
Speaker 2 (59:56):
Comic school.
Speaker 9 (59:58):
But like I also memorize this is like back when
people would listen to full comedy albums, like at the
height of like comedy specials too, like you'd have HBO
special everyone, like there's a special coming out every day,
Like when people would have an album and then they
would listen.
Speaker 1 (01:00:11):
To it over and over.
Speaker 9 (01:00:12):
Yeah, my dad would listen to Bill Cosby and Richard
Pryor and George Carlin and Jerry Seinfeld and Lucia Ball
and I'd like be four or five years old understanding
that they were great. But also the big thing that
I learned was like how to make what was going
on in my head and now against everyone else that
was through comedy. The nerd stuff. Now maybe I don't
(01:00:33):
know if you feel this way. I feel this way now.
Now the nerd stuff is like in the zeitgeist, you
can just drop like Thanos and.
Speaker 1 (01:00:39):
Everyone knows knows what that is. Yeah, I mean I
tell these guys all the time. It's weird, the shift
of like I kind of hid this stuff when I
was growing up. You know, I was embarrassed, But dude,
I played D and D growing up. I mean I
was that kind of getting nerd. But then I lived
the double double life, you know, where I still played
sports and things like that. So those friends had no
idea that I read comic books every day. But now
(01:01:01):
it's like the cool thing, and I'm like, what happened? Yeah,
Like I have no shame. Man, I'm wearing a canteena band.
Speaker 9 (01:01:06):
I'm wearing my Wonder Woman under right now. Yeah, good
for you. The first male to male transition.
Speaker 1 (01:01:16):
I like it. I like it.
Speaker 9 (01:01:18):
I don't know, I feel like I'm because I'm a
huge I'm a huge Michael Jackson fan tune with the
movie and everything come down.
Speaker 1 (01:01:24):
Now, there's been like a lot of.
Speaker 9 (01:01:25):
Kids and just a lot of people who like who
are getting into the things that like I've always loved, right,
I just feel like I was like sort of the
first world show up to something.
Speaker 1 (01:01:34):
Yeah, like do I want them to listen? Yeah? Watching that,
like I have the balls to be.
Speaker 9 (01:01:39):
Like, who is Who's going around listening to this unknown
indie artist Michael Jackson. I was keeping all these years,
Like even I went to go see the new Star
Wars movie last week and I was in.
Speaker 1 (01:01:51):
I was in theaters. In the first like ten minutes.
Speaker 9 (01:01:53):
I was like, I was with somebody and I kept
groaning and they were like stop and I was like what,
and they're like, you keep every like three minutes. I'm like, oh,
I didn't realize I was doing it because I'm like,
I'm thirty now, I've been what The first movie I
ever saw in theaters was Phantom Mena.
Speaker 1 (01:02:06):
That was crazy three Yeah.
Speaker 9 (01:02:07):
I didn't know anything about trade negotiations or racist.
Speaker 1 (01:02:10):
Stereotypes and Star Wars yes, but it works.
Speaker 9 (01:02:13):
I kept watching it and after after my friend was like,
you keep growing it, I was like, all right, let
me just me enjoy this for what it is. And
I saw Sigourney Weaver and an swing and then uh,
I want to put Grogu in a blender. Oh wait,
why I just hate him? Why I never heard anybody
say that. I think he's so cute. No, I think
he's very cute.
Speaker 1 (01:02:32):
You know, he's serious. I would turn him into a cereal.
Oh god, what happened that little thing was coming at
me at three o'clock in the morning. I'd put two
between a miles O way no, no, long on a
second try. So I'm way older than you. Okay, So
I grew up in you know, with the original movie. Yea,
so those are my loves. I have some strong feelings
(01:02:54):
about the prequels. Okay, Now you grew up probably with
the prequels first. So I have seen this kind of
generation that loves the prequels and they kind of like,
are weird about everything else? So where do you sit
in this? So I Star Wars.
Speaker 9 (01:03:09):
To me is like, uh, I'm trying to find the
right way to say this on the radio.
Speaker 1 (01:03:13):
Like a hook up, hook up or pizza at the
end of the day, you're pizza.
Speaker 2 (01:03:17):
You got to hook up with you.
Speaker 9 (01:03:18):
Love it, you love it no matter what ye like.
Even that one is still like unless with Skywalker.
Speaker 5 (01:03:27):
Always ed Eddie likes everything, and everybody hates like Eddie
liked the more pious movie it was.
Speaker 1 (01:03:35):
It was bad understanding about.
Speaker 9 (01:03:40):
I mean, somehow Palpatine returned breaking and it was weird.
Speaker 1 (01:03:45):
I'm not gonna lie, it's the feeling. I saw The
Force Awakens in theaters probably like ten times, so excited.
I literally cried cry died by happen.
Speaker 9 (01:03:58):
I expected him to die because I was like, there's
no way Harrison Ford's gonna walk out there.
Speaker 2 (01:04:01):
What's this movie called?
Speaker 1 (01:04:02):
Kid? Three more of these? I gotta be with Harry
kill me off? This way?
Speaker 2 (01:04:08):
Looking kid? Why is he? Why is his lightsaber?
Speaker 1 (01:04:10):
Looked at this plane? And so I saw it. I
loved it, and I was like, this is really cool.
Speaker 9 (01:04:16):
I'm really and I was even okay with like it
being a copy of a New Hope.
Speaker 1 (01:04:20):
It was like what happened?
Speaker 9 (01:04:23):
Then Rogue One comes out and I'm like, oh, they
just one of my incredible and then Last Jedi came
out and that was the first movie in my adult life.
I walked out of theaters and I thought that like
everyone was gonna follow me, like right when she threw
when Luke threw his lightsaber away, I was like, all.
Speaker 1 (01:04:39):
Right, gang, come on, leave.
Speaker 9 (01:04:42):
Marched up right at the top, right at the beginning,
because the first ten minutes was like all joking, and
I was like, I don't know where this is going.
Speaker 1 (01:04:47):
This is rough. And then when he threw the lightsaber,
I was hurt.
Speaker 9 (01:04:50):
No, I walked out of the theater, and then I
went to go see it the next day and and
ended up that that was my favorite out of the
out of the sequels is the Last Jedi, the last Jedi,
Okay Awakens went nowhere.
Speaker 1 (01:05:06):
Okay, the last Jedi. The Yota scene alone makes it
worth it for me. I did enjoy that.
Speaker 9 (01:05:11):
So Rise of Skywalker was the only Star Wars movie
I saw in theater once. And then my brother tried
to kill himself a couple of days later.
Speaker 1 (01:05:16):
I don't think, Okay, that's fair.
Speaker 9 (01:05:21):
I'm going to blaym it on that, not him getting
caught cheating on his girlfriend.
Speaker 1 (01:05:24):
Okaywalker, that's fair, because I listen. That's what you know.
What's crazy is that when the prequels came out again, I'm,
you know, now an adult at this point in the nineties,
and I was so excited that even any Star Wars
was going to be made. So I went there. I
took the day off work because I was like, I
gotta go see this right away. And it didn't that's
(01:05:46):
how we do it, And it didn't hit the same.
I walked out and I went, is this me? Like?
Do I not love this anymore? It's wed? It felt weird.
That's how I felt. When I watched the Last Jedi.
Speaker 9 (01:05:55):
I was like, oh, it was like that episode of
South Park where where like Kyle realized he was getting
older and.
Speaker 1 (01:06:00):
Everything just sounded and changed. What happened to me?
Speaker 9 (01:06:02):
And I got called my dad and I was like, Dad,
don't go see this movie. It's terrible. And he was
like you're twenty six now, and I was like, no,
but you're grown up, like people use these movies. Is
life is very hard. It's very difficult for people just
to get any It was. It was hard for all
of us just to get up and put socks and
shoes on this morning man to get here.
Speaker 1 (01:06:24):
It wasn't for me because I'm on New York Times.
It's nine o'clock. In my brain, it was up at
six like beat this, like yeah, the radio, but like whenever.
When I went to go see the Mandalorining Grogan movie.
Speaker 9 (01:06:37):
Like at the end of the day, I'm putting my
socks and shoes on, I'm getting to go see a
Star Wars movie. And then I was gonna buy a
popcorn bucket and they were like sixty dollars. I was like,
I'll come back to this movie.
Speaker 1 (01:06:45):
With a gun that I didn't do that.
Speaker 9 (01:06:50):
No, I would to spend it on the dune bucket.
That's a multipurpose bucket. Everyone else like I don't want
just like what am I going to do with an
I kind of shoot it.
Speaker 1 (01:07:00):
Yeah, come on, toy Bod playing the American Comedy Company
this weekend. Gotta go see him. He's fantastic. Now, got
to get into some wrestling talk here, because because I
had no idea that your dad wrestled and all this stuff.
So you grew up kind of in that era where you.
Speaker 9 (01:07:18):
Yeah, right, steroids and cocaine nothing.
Speaker 1 (01:07:22):
That's all that the Golden Air I was.
Speaker 9 (01:07:28):
I was going to those sho I didn't realize like
how unconventional my dad was. Like because I told you,
like even I got reaction for you. I was like,
he was a DJ, he was karate school and he
was wrestling. I heard the d c F like, oh wait,
and then like like when he wasn't karate and wrestling
was like it was almost like the same, but like
wrestling was a little bit more theatrical, so like we
(01:07:50):
would I remember outfits. Yeah, Like my dad's outfit for
wrestling was like just his karate pants and then baby oil.
Speaker 1 (01:07:56):
Oh wow.
Speaker 9 (01:07:59):
Remember one my one of my earliest memories was he
was like doing his wrestling name was the Black Dragon
Troy Bond, and uh. He was like shooting some promos
and one of the promos is like he was going
to shoot.
Speaker 1 (01:08:10):
A fireball out of his okay because he was the Dragon. Yeah,
like yeah yeah, and he's like, oh, here we go.
Speaker 9 (01:08:18):
And the karate mats were like those rubber like that
we were in the studio and like he like had
like taken just a big shot of vodka and then
spit it out while somebody like had a Zippo lighter
just went everywhere.
Speaker 1 (01:08:30):
He didn't tell me to get out of the way.
Speaker 9 (01:08:32):
I'm like next to my dad, like grocer, I'm like
did a kick and then like my leg was just
on fire, and the like he like just picks me
up by he was like, don't tell your mother about this,
and he dunks one leg of mine in the toilet
in the toilet and like half of my leg is
still burnt up. My pant leg was burnt up. It
just singed right through the pants. And then they just
(01:08:54):
like my do tell your mother moments like it's gonna
be really hard to explain this. One time, some he
like broke a crutch over his back and I just
saw it flying at me and I was like, this
is really cool, and then it hit me right square
in the head and I just had this giant egg.
Speaker 1 (01:09:08):
On my head. He was like, tell your mother, you
fell down the steps. I'm like, that's the fourth time
this month. He's gonna put me in a class.
Speaker 9 (01:09:16):
You guys responsibility for this.
Speaker 1 (01:09:24):
Like we have the same last name too, and we
have the same last name. Yeah, the whole name. I
got the whole name.
Speaker 9 (01:09:29):
And we didn't talk for like he kicked me out
of the house when I was seventeen because I started
doing comedy and he didn't.
Speaker 1 (01:09:36):
He still he wanted to do comedy too.
Speaker 9 (01:09:38):
When he was but he didn't pull out and then
he had me Okay, he was just like, I don't
want you going down this It was like the day
up a cave.
Speaker 2 (01:09:45):
He was like, I don't want you to be what
I am.
Speaker 9 (01:09:47):
And then I exactly, I know it was exactly some
stretch back and he didn't.
Speaker 1 (01:09:57):
He like had me up against the all.
Speaker 9 (01:10:00):
He was like, if you audition for America's Got Talent,
you're never coming back to this house.
Speaker 1 (01:10:03):
And I was like, all right, I guess coming back
to this house. That's a serious speak For five years
still doing the stacker toos blood. It was a real
Chris full heel on you.
Speaker 9 (01:10:21):
And I was going to the karate school classes too,
Like so I knew karate, he just knew more. But
so we didn't speak for for many years. To day
I came home and he like handed me. Uh like
when when dads discover weed, they think that they're the
first person on the planet to every you gotta try this.
It's going to change everything for you. I'm like, you
remember you kicked me out of the house once when
(01:10:43):
I was fourteen. Yeah, And then like we were it
was like the Native American peace pipe.
Speaker 1 (01:10:47):
We were just passing it back and forth.
Speaker 9 (01:10:49):
And then he left the house and I was sure
he hit me, and I was like in a coma
and then uh he called me later that night and
he was like, hey, I might I might need your
social scaredy number to keep the lights on at the
karate school where it was this one.
Speaker 2 (01:11:00):
We're friends.
Speaker 9 (01:11:01):
Now wait a minute, here we go. This is wild man. Yeah,
so that's that's my dad. Okay, happy Father's Day something.
Speaker 2 (01:11:11):
Yeah, good man, I am working on one.
Speaker 1 (01:11:14):
Yeah, that's fantastic because you're like, you'll tell these stories
and then get me out a party and then like
people start crying.
Speaker 9 (01:11:19):
I guess it's called trauma dumping. But I just thought like,
it's a cool story.
Speaker 1 (01:11:23):
This is my life. Yeah, that's just the way I grew.
Speaker 9 (01:11:25):
When I saw the Trotters when I was ten, I
didn't know it was right there.
Speaker 8 (01:11:29):
I was just like, oh, this is McDonald's the hell.
I don't know, listen, this is this is what you're
gonna see. If you gotta go take out Troy American
Comedy Company. A couple of shows to night, a couple
of shows tomorrow night. It's gonna be great. You'll go
hang out with Door two. I guess he's gonna be
hanging out hey, Troy Pleasure and finally be anytime you're
in town, man, you gotta come in, dude. I'll come
chop it up man. Good stuff, dude, I b I
(01:11:51):
go to smoothie with dude? Was this apparently hate GROGHU?
So I don't even know.
Speaker 1 (01:11:55):
I'm going to burger King after this, and I'm gonna
get the milkschick it's made of him.
Speaker 3 (01:12:02):
That's terrible.
Speaker 1 (01:12:03):
Well, maybe burger King is your go to hangover food.
Do you ever go to hangover food? Oh? You know,
to hangover food. I love the floor matt texture of
the subway sandwich.
Speaker 9 (01:12:14):
Those were like five dollars and now it looks like
thirty two dollars from people.
Speaker 1 (01:12:19):
I love it. It's just I think they have to
call it tuna Tuna tuna. That would be my go
to hangover Okay, well we're gonna go over what it's
been named. It could be subway. I don't know. What
are the best foods for a hangover? Coming up next
to the show at Rocket the five three thor thankfully
you know you went through your drinking crazy phase at
(01:12:41):
a young age, because as you get older, hangovers gets
so much worse.
Speaker 2 (01:12:48):
I see it here every Monday. I don't have hungover everyone.
Why did you just assume I was talking about Emily.
Speaker 1 (01:12:54):
Yeah, it's a great point.
Speaker 2 (01:12:56):
I just see it here every Monday, I could talk
about anybody, anybody, anybody in the building.
Speaker 1 (01:13:00):
Yeah that's true.
Speaker 4 (01:13:01):
Maybe everybody. He's not probably Sky. She doesn't really drinking either,
as Eddie.
Speaker 2 (01:13:08):
On Thursdays Friday.
Speaker 1 (01:13:11):
Yeah. Man, you know when you were younger and you
go out a party, you be hung over the next day,
you could rally pretty quick.
Speaker 5 (01:13:19):
This is gonna sound pathetic and old, but I get
when I eat too much. I love popcorn, and if
I eat too much salted popcorn, I wake up the
next day and my face feels swollen and I'm dry,
and I feel like I got hit by a train.
I didn't feel that way ten years ago. So I
feel like that's kind of.
Speaker 8 (01:13:41):
You.
Speaker 5 (01:13:42):
But it's just about my body used to be able
to absorb all that crap and sugar and candy really easily,
and now I can't.
Speaker 1 (01:13:51):
So I guess that's like you have a popcorn cure.
Speaker 2 (01:13:55):
No I don't. I'm not not eating it, you know
what I mean?
Speaker 5 (01:13:59):
Like I could you to be able to eat a
full meal and then go right to bed if I
did that. Now I wake up like I got punched
in the face.
Speaker 3 (01:14:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:14:06):
Yeah, there's different levels of hangover, you know where you know,
sometimes you just got the headache. Sometimes you just want
to take a nap. But a lot of the times
it's so bad you'd like you got to do anything
to get rid of it because it's awful. And so, yeah,
hangovers are tough. And what do they always say, you know,
either you can go hair of the dog or you're
gonna eat some greasy Yeah, eat some bad, eat some greasy,
(01:14:30):
and I'll help you. Why does that help?
Speaker 3 (01:14:31):
I don't know.
Speaker 7 (01:14:32):
I don't know. To soak you always here to soak
it up, so I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:14:35):
There's other food not soak it up?
Speaker 3 (01:14:36):
Like, yeah, soak it up?
Speaker 7 (01:14:37):
What does that mean?
Speaker 2 (01:14:38):
Did through your system?
Speaker 1 (01:14:41):
I don't know. I don't know. But it's supposed to
be the go to thing to cure a hangover. Emily,
you're you're the expert. What is a go to food
for you that you like if you are hungover.
Speaker 4 (01:14:54):
Like, I'll crave a burrito, like a Cali burrito or
something one. But like, honestly, like you said, so, like
shut up, nothing helps, like it doesn't help, and actually,
if anything.
Speaker 7 (01:15:07):
It almost makes me feel worse.
Speaker 4 (01:15:08):
It helps in the moment because I'm hungry and I
just want to eat something yummy and delicious to make
me feel better, but it doesn't really ever work.
Speaker 7 (01:15:15):
No, you know what I mean.
Speaker 4 (01:15:16):
It's just there's nothing you can do for a hangover
when you're forty two.
Speaker 7 (01:15:20):
You just you're just you just don't feel good.
Speaker 1 (01:15:22):
Just give up, just give up on life. Damn. Hey Sky,
do you have a go to food that is your
thing for a hangover?
Speaker 3 (01:15:30):
Yeah, I'm with Emily.
Speaker 6 (01:15:31):
It's normally taco shop of some sort of variety.
Speaker 3 (01:15:36):
It's either gonna be.
Speaker 6 (01:15:36):
Taco shop or some sort of like big diner style
breakfast where mainly I just focus on the hash browns
and the toast is not.
Speaker 1 (01:15:44):
Normally what you eat. I mean, you know, when you
eat breakfast food that's kind of your go to.
Speaker 6 (01:15:50):
Yeah, but normally I won't have a breakfast like that,
you know what I mean. Like, I'm not going to
a diner for a breakfast, but I would.
Speaker 3 (01:15:58):
I would order.
Speaker 6 (01:15:59):
That, you know, I know, you say, like your family
sometimes will grub hub breakfast.
Speaker 3 (01:16:03):
We grub hub every meal.
Speaker 6 (01:16:05):
A while ago, I thought you said that, and it
shocked me because we grub hub like every meal except
for breakfast. Right, but if back in the hangover days, yeah,
there would be some big platter of something obnoxious with
hash browns and cheese and like sour cream on it,
or or it would be taco shops.
Speaker 5 (01:16:24):
Guy in the day that you had too much to
couterie and you couldn't come into work.
Speaker 2 (01:16:28):
What did you have that day to deal with that
hang on?
Speaker 3 (01:16:31):
Well, it was food poisoning.
Speaker 1 (01:16:36):
It is weird, but.
Speaker 6 (01:16:37):
But I did become just like Emily. Food wouldn't work anymore.
So then I started being hair of the Dog chick,
which again kind of like works every time.
Speaker 3 (01:16:48):
Pretty though again.
Speaker 6 (01:16:51):
Yes that's what I was gonna say. It works temporarily,
and then you're extra screw.
Speaker 1 (01:16:55):
Mine is very specific what you got. I always have
Manula i'm hungover, I have Manu though. Really yep, my
go to thing every single time? Make it, you know,
I got to get it? Yeah, okay, yeah, Manula takes
forever to make, so no, no, okay, but yeah, I
mean it's my good, absolute go to.
Speaker 7 (01:17:13):
I understand.
Speaker 4 (01:17:14):
Next, it's like there's like tripe and stuff in there, right,
like to me, like pure stomach.
Speaker 1 (01:17:20):
Does it help?
Speaker 2 (01:17:21):
Though?
Speaker 1 (01:17:21):
Sometimes I mean not again, nothing anymore. Well, they have
named the best foods for a hangover.
Speaker 6 (01:17:36):
Yeah, and this is science, so this isn't gonna be
what you want it to be, but they're saying these
are the best and help. And number five is similar
to eddie they say chicken noodle soup. They say, you
get similar just soup, I mean super but it has
the similar things that they're talking about. Protein in their
electrolytes and sodium from the broth.
Speaker 3 (01:17:58):
They say that's good. Number four, oh my god, salmon.
Speaker 7 (01:18:06):
The salmon is like.
Speaker 6 (01:18:11):
Omega threes, vitamin B. They say, that's helpful. Number three
goes to avocado.
Speaker 3 (01:18:17):
The potassium.
Speaker 6 (01:18:19):
They say, there's five compounds in avocado that help protect
liver damage. So yeah, Number two is bananas. Again, the
potassium helps you replace and hold onto the water and
settles your tummy.
Speaker 3 (01:18:35):
And number one isn't too bad.
Speaker 6 (01:18:38):
Actually, eggs anyway you want to cook the eggs. They
have a certain amino acid helps break down toxins, has vitamins, nutrients,
and so.
Speaker 3 (01:18:48):
It'll help you get over a hangover much faster.
Speaker 1 (01:18:51):
Where's jumbo jack and curly fries, understand tacos, what the
hell is going on? Whatever. When you get older, you
become a bit wiser. Hopefully you always wish you could
talk to your younger self give yourself advice. Right, well,
we're gonna see why one guy went viral for saying
what he wishes he could say to his younger self
coming out next on the show Rock with a five three.
(01:19:15):
So everybody kind of has this thought. I'm sure as
they get older that, Oh man, I wish I could
go back and talk to myself when I was like
in high school and tell my give myself some advice,
you know of like hey, man, like don't worry. Ask
every girl out like you know, shoot your shot, who
cares or whatever? You know, I mean, what's the worst
that could happen? Nothing, nothing gonna happen, or you know what,
(01:19:36):
go out for every sport or do it. You know,
there's all kinds of stuff I wish I would have
told myself back in the day to do and stop
me so scared, Like, don't be so scared. Yah life,
you know, liket yello, man, live your left, live your left. Yeah,
but I can't do that, obviously. Well, there is a
guy who I guess is fifty or in his fifties
or something like that, who is kind of gone viral
(01:19:57):
because he says of things that he he could talk
to his younger self about.
Speaker 6 (01:20:02):
Yeah, because he says, like, back in your twenties, there's
a lot of myths and people will give you like
buzzwords and buzz sayings. But he says now that he's fifty,
and he's like.
Speaker 3 (01:20:12):
Those weren't true.
Speaker 6 (01:20:13):
Why were people saying them? And why in my twenties
did I believe that? So, yeah, you put out that
list and it went viral. People thought it was really interesting.
Speaker 3 (01:20:22):
Top of the list.
Speaker 6 (01:20:23):
People tell you in your twenties, if you just work hard,
if you grind, you're gonna get there.
Speaker 3 (01:20:28):
It's gonna happen.
Speaker 6 (01:20:29):
And he's like, that's not necessarily true. He's like, yeah,
a good work ethic, of course is important. But sometimes
you get into a crappy situation. You're with a company
that will never promote you no matter how hard you work.
You gotta Actually, he thinks the better advice is know
when it's time to move on from something.
Speaker 2 (01:20:48):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (01:20:49):
Right, Well, I think it's.
Speaker 5 (01:20:50):
All about who you know. Who you know gets you
really far and then eventually you got to perform. Yeah,
but who you know is more important than how hard
you work. But then when you get to that certain point,
you better be good at what you do, otherwise they
will let you go. Who you know it can take
you pretty far.
Speaker 3 (01:21:05):
That's true. Yeah, I don't disagree with that.
Speaker 1 (01:21:07):
I thought, wow, yeah, okaye, He says.
Speaker 6 (01:21:16):
Another myth he was told in his twenties is oh,
people will change.
Speaker 3 (01:21:20):
Oh, people will grow out of that, and he goes, no, some.
Speaker 6 (01:21:25):
People are who they really are, and once they show
that to you multiple times, then believe it and move
on from them.
Speaker 3 (01:21:37):
He says, also in his twenties, he.
Speaker 6 (01:21:39):
Heard, oh, your problems, they'll eventually work themselves out. Things
eventually work themselves out, and he says, no, just kind
of like Eddie said, like, actually go for things and
take steps, and if you need to like improve yourself
or if you need to get out of a situation,
or if you need to go to that like audition
that you don't think you're gonn to get do it.
Speaker 1 (01:22:01):
Like well, yeah, I mean, problems can work themselves out,
but sometimes they you you got to get yourself out
of that problem. Yeah, So I mean that. I don't.
That's weird advice.
Speaker 3 (01:22:10):
Yeah, uh huh uh.
Speaker 6 (01:22:12):
You'd hear in your twenties, more money means more happiness,
he says, No, in his fifties, it's become clear if
you're a miserable human, even if you have a lot
of money, you'll still be a miserable human.
Speaker 2 (01:22:24):
Yeah, yeah, no, less miserable.
Speaker 1 (01:22:26):
True, But I mean money does help with problems that
make you miserable.
Speaker 6 (01:22:30):
Yeah, so for some people money can work money problem.
Speaker 1 (01:22:34):
I've heard that.
Speaker 3 (01:22:35):
Yeah, but if.
Speaker 6 (01:22:36):
A miserable jerk, that may even amplify if you.
Speaker 2 (01:22:40):
You have the most money of anyone.
Speaker 1 (01:22:41):
I know, it's crazy.
Speaker 3 (01:22:44):
Okay, what another myth?
Speaker 6 (01:22:47):
If you're with the right person, it'll make you a
better person. No, he says in his fifties, you don't
depend on anybody else, Like, of course, you don't.
Speaker 7 (01:22:56):
Want the right person will bring out the best in you.
Speaker 3 (01:22:58):
Well, he says, you don't want to be partner by
any means.
Speaker 6 (01:23:02):
But at the same time, you can't depend on somebody
else to make you a better.
Speaker 1 (01:23:07):
Don't know everything he's saying. I feel like it can
argue the other way, really, you know what I mean?
Speaker 9 (01:23:11):
Like, yeah, I don't know people liked it when they
read it.
Speaker 6 (01:23:18):
He says, in his twenties, you'll hear like, I don't
worry about that now. You worry about that down the road,
specifically with health, and he's like, no, you need to
take care of your health and your body no matter
what age you are, because when you get to an
older age, it's going to be much more difficult if
you didn't take care.
Speaker 3 (01:23:35):
Of it in the beginning.
Speaker 6 (01:23:37):
And finally, he says, when people say, oh, there's plenty
of time, you have the rest of your life to
get to that, he says, no. The amount of people
he's known that have just dropped off the planet.
Speaker 1 (01:23:48):
Like that.
Speaker 6 (01:23:51):
Sort come on, I mean, he basically said, life can
be very short and you never know when your last
day is. So in your twenties you hate all right, So.
Speaker 1 (01:24:02):
Alright, crazy Today is a very bittersweet day for me. Well,
today I used to celebrate hard crazy not anymore. We
will discuss National Donut Day. I'm next on the show
(01:24:23):
at five three. So as I sit here eating my
usual overnight oats concoction that I eat every single day
and have for six months. Wow, I really don't know
how I feel about today being National Donut Day. It
(01:24:50):
is now June fifth, twenty twenty six. I have gone
over six months now without having a donut, single.
Speaker 3 (01:25:00):
Donut one that you.
Speaker 1 (01:25:03):
I'm getting applause over here from.
Speaker 6 (01:25:06):
Sor says your health mentor says every once in a while, yourself.
Speaker 5 (01:25:12):
You don't want to I do this like on. I
don't know why I was looking like that, like on like
tonight or tomorrow. I will have dessert.
Speaker 1 (01:25:21):
I will.
Speaker 5 (01:25:21):
I used to have a cheat meal where I'd go crazy,
but that's massively counterproductive.
Speaker 2 (01:25:26):
I don't do that anymore. So I'll have a little
bit of achievement.
Speaker 3 (01:25:29):
Why feature his mentor? So you must fall on eddie.
Speaker 1 (01:25:36):
Do you can you every once in a while have
a drink? You can every once in a while just
have a sip. No, can I just every once in
a while preuss a beer.
Speaker 2 (01:25:47):
Oh I don't think that's the because.
Speaker 1 (01:25:49):
Let me tell you something I think. I don't think
this this tuble lard. In twenty twenty five, you got
to reach a tuble lard category.
Speaker 2 (01:25:59):
You got a little crazy and December.
Speaker 1 (01:26:01):
Dont eating donuts all the time.
Speaker 5 (01:26:04):
Yeah, and you were eating them as obnoxiously as I've
ever seen somebody.
Speaker 1 (01:26:09):
And I'm sure back when you were, you know, eighteen,
you were, you know, drinking cocktails like a like a psychopath.
Speaker 5 (01:26:16):
I was, I was a I was a beer muscles guy.
Speaker 1 (01:26:18):
There was a donut muscles guy. I was a donut
muscles guy.
Speaker 2 (01:26:22):
You were a donut muscle.
Speaker 1 (01:26:23):
Does everybody in this building know my reputation?
Speaker 2 (01:26:26):
Yeah, that is true.
Speaker 5 (01:26:27):
You got really mad at people if they didn't bring
in the People would bring free donuts, and he'd get
mad if they weren't the right kind.
Speaker 4 (01:26:32):
Yeah, And remember how weird, how weird he would get if,
like he knew there was like donuts in the studio
next to us, he'd like walk by the window and
almost like make eye contact with them.
Speaker 2 (01:26:41):
It was weird.
Speaker 3 (01:26:42):
Or heaven forbid.
Speaker 6 (01:26:43):
Someone would bring in like two dozen donuts, and then
at the end of the show we'd be like, Okay,
let's divvy these up to bring them home, and Eddie
would look at us like we're trying to steal one
of his children.
Speaker 2 (01:26:54):
Yeah, that's weird.
Speaker 5 (01:26:55):
Yeah, or more, can you get a donut not tell
us about it, and then eat it in here the
next morning in our faces?
Speaker 3 (01:27:03):
Yeah, he'd like be hoarding secret donuts.
Speaker 2 (01:27:06):
Yeah, give it a couple of kisses.
Speaker 3 (01:27:07):
Yeah, always a kiss.
Speaker 2 (01:27:09):
And it's like, why didn't he tell us there was
donuts around?
Speaker 4 (01:27:11):
It's so crazy, dude, wasn't he walked back to our
boss's office.
Speaker 2 (01:27:16):
If there are donuts back there, they let him know.
Speaker 3 (01:27:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:27:18):
It was dark times, Guys, it was dark times.
Speaker 5 (01:27:21):
Call it and recovery. We say doctor Jekyll, mister Hyde.
He's two different people. Yeah, but he's not eating donuts.
Great guy eating donuts. He'll stab you in the back.
Speaker 1 (01:27:31):
I would definitely stab you in the back for a
donut back in twenty twenty five.
Speaker 2 (01:27:34):
That was only six months ago.
Speaker 1 (01:27:36):
Wasn't good. I'm in recovery. I've been recovery. He's a
recovery okay. Uh So I decided to go on this
health journey and make big changes, and so obviously one
of them is cold turkey, No more donuts?
Speaker 2 (01:27:50):
Well you ever have one again?
Speaker 1 (01:27:52):
I don't know. I don't know. So it has come
up a couple of times in the last six months
of donuts have come in. Are are my buddy here?
Got donuts? And he offered me some sky was witnessed
where I said no, I told him no, I can't.
And it's happened a few times and I've just turned
it down. Savoid donuts. Just two days ago, who was
(01:28:15):
like Sky's favorite donuts shop. They brought in giant boxes
of it. They decided to go no donuts and go
croissants because Sky loved croissants and danishes and things like that.
Normally I'd still eat that. I mean, that's still delicious
pastries and stuff like that. You guys all had them, yea,
I turned it down.
Speaker 6 (01:28:33):
It was any mean while yeah, like and you wouldn't
even bring them home. We're like, just bring them home.
Speaker 1 (01:28:38):
I tent myself, you know, I was like, day no,
I mean it's not easy. It's not like I still
want them, but uh, I have to say no, I
have to say no.
Speaker 7 (01:28:49):
I have a question.
Speaker 4 (01:28:51):
She used to bring them faery since you used to
bring them home to the fam, because like you would
you bring them over yourself?
Speaker 2 (01:28:59):
Are they you bummed about this bring them home?
Speaker 1 (01:29:02):
It hasn't really come up, you know, they haven't said
anything about it or like, you know, what's don you know,
it is weird. It is weird if they talk to
me like that. But I just I don't know. I
just I can't do it. Well, you know, obviously I
could give them to them and they be fine, but
(01:29:23):
I'm not. I don't know, I don't know. I'm just
not doing it.
Speaker 3 (01:29:26):
You don't need that pink box in your house.
Speaker 1 (01:29:27):
Can you imagine I'm driving home and I got a
giant thing of donuts.
Speaker 2 (01:29:31):
That'd be terrible, a lot of pressure.
Speaker 1 (01:29:33):
Yeah, I don't want to do it. You don't reach this.
Look how big this shirt is on me.
Speaker 7 (01:29:39):
You're swimming. You are that one might need to.
Speaker 1 (01:29:42):
Don't hide and hit me in the back.
Speaker 7 (01:29:44):
You know I could sew. I'll take it in for you.
Speaker 3 (01:29:45):
Put a little scrunchy back there.
Speaker 1 (01:29:47):
Opinion. Yeah, this is the results of hard work, okay,
of discipline and my mentor. Wow, I don't see this
guy skipping around need donuts every day.
Speaker 2 (01:30:01):
No, I can't.
Speaker 5 (01:30:02):
I have a protein bagel right now, Creasy said, Yeah,
it's great. I told Scott again one she didn't respond
to it.
Speaker 2 (01:30:08):
You'd love this.
Speaker 3 (01:30:09):
I can't open the bagel door.
Speaker 2 (01:30:10):
But it's a protein bagel.
Speaker 3 (01:30:12):
I know, I know, but he's not good.
Speaker 1 (01:30:15):
The other day, left and right, left and right and
left and right.
Speaker 6 (01:30:20):
I told myself I wasn't going to have one, but
then I once, just like you said, I brought a
box home for the family. I ate half of one
and it was freaking so buttery delicious.
Speaker 7 (01:30:33):
Guy, Did I get in your head a little bit?
Speaker 1 (01:30:35):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:30:35):
Yeah, she was telling me. Emily kept telling me it's fine,
you could just have one.
Speaker 2 (01:30:40):
Is that it's crazy?
Speaker 3 (01:30:41):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:30:42):
Would never do that now, I would.
Speaker 5 (01:30:45):
I feel bad for Emily had a bottle of wine
in one hand and a croissant and the other.
Speaker 1 (01:30:49):
But she's the healthiest Peter person.
Speaker 5 (01:30:52):
She knows you're worning carbs anymore.
Speaker 7 (01:30:57):
I'm I'm not really, but I can.
Speaker 1 (01:30:58):
And everything you said, everything you say is not true.
Speaker 7 (01:31:01):
I don't normally eat carbs, thank you.
Speaker 1 (01:31:04):
I mean you eat about the normal basis. I don't
know anything things have carbs in it. I mean, and
it's fine, it's not I'm not judging you.
Speaker 4 (01:31:12):
But you catcheese and hardled egg right now.
Speaker 1 (01:31:18):
That's a Christus thank you anyway. So yeah, I just quit.
Speaker 6 (01:31:26):
Donuts, not even on National Donut Day.
Speaker 1 (01:31:31):
You know, there's going to be donuts arriving today. At
some point, somebody's bringing donuts in and it's going to
be you know, in the office or whatever. Mm hmm, no,
thank you.
Speaker 4 (01:31:39):
I'm surprised we haven't seen somebody prants down the hallway
with do they prance?
Speaker 1 (01:31:46):
I will turn it down. I will say no, thank you.
I can't do it. Even on national device Sky we
turned down. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:31:53):
I got to like, I have you already made me
have a couple of days ago.
Speaker 5 (01:31:58):
Emily one people to be miser wants to fail like
she knows how much how bad this is for Sky,
but she wants.
Speaker 1 (01:32:05):
To And the person who doesn't eat carbs, would you
do donut if they brought them in? I can't have it.
I can't. I can have that. I that I can
do that. I can do that, but I don't normally
have doughnuts.
Speaker 7 (01:32:17):
I don't sound like that.
Speaker 1 (01:32:18):
You look up your mind.
Speaker 2 (01:32:19):
What do you have it for dinner tonight?
Speaker 7 (01:32:23):

Speaker 4 (01:32:23):
We're going somewhere because we have baseball carbs.
Speaker 7 (01:32:29):
Actually looked at the menu are in my house yesterday?
That's true.
Speaker 4 (01:32:37):

Speaker 2 (01:32:52):
I'm cooking for myself at home.
Speaker 7 (01:32:54):

Speaker 1 (01:32:57):
She makes no sense. She makes no sense. So today

Speaker 7 (01:33:08):

Speaker 1 (01:33:09):

so much.
Speaker 3 (01:33:12):
Yeah, I love them so hard.
Speaker 1 (01:33:13):
Day it is. It's hard, but I'm not going to
do it. I'm not going to go down that path anymore.
You want to stand up and pull my shirt back again?
Speaker 3 (01:33:20):
No, we saw, we saw all your skinny little waist.
Speaker 1 (01:33:21):
Swimming in this. I hate it. So are there any

Speaker 6 (01:35:11):
Yeah, the people over at Thrillists decided to paper classic donut.
Speaker 3 (01:35:17):
Sorry, I forgot to write it on your paper.
Speaker 6 (01:35:19):
So they gave us their rankings of the best classic donuts.
Speaker 3 (01:35:23):
Number ten the glazed sugar twist. You seeing those, Yeah,
of course they're these are boring to me, like those.
Speaker 1 (01:35:32):
I always put those ones on my kids.
Speaker 3 (01:35:33):
Oh really, look at that one.
Speaker 1 (01:35:36):
I love those exactly.
Speaker 3 (01:35:37):
Because Number nine goes to the blueberry cake.
Speaker 1 (01:35:42):
Couldn't hate a donut more. If you get the blueberry
donut and it's in the box, it ruins all of
the donuts.
Speaker 3 (01:35:49):
It does.
Speaker 1 (01:35:49):
Yes, it smells like blueberry. Now it's like the blueberry bagel.
Get that thing out of they're disgusting donut. Give it
to me, Jude, I'll light them up.
Speaker 6 (01:35:59):
Number eight the crumb cake donut.
Speaker 1 (01:36:04):
I didn't. I didn't. It wasn't one of my favorites.
Towards the end, got in there, got in there.
Speaker 7 (01:36:10):
Is the butter. What's the buttery crumb one that we liked?
Speaker 1 (01:36:13):
That Randy to top knotch and he's top ten. Can't
pit I can't.
Speaker 3 (01:36:21):
Pack the chocolate frosted donuts.
Speaker 1 (01:36:25):
Favorites.
Speaker 2 (01:36:26):
Yeah, he's a good, basic, basic, easy.
Speaker 1 (01:36:29):
It's good, it's good, delicious, it's good.
Speaker 6 (01:36:33):
Controversy if the last if the next two should be
included in these rankings. But number six they give to
donut holes.
Speaker 1 (01:36:41):
Those are just called munchkins at Duncan's. But donut holes
are the proper name. I don't don't just give me
the glaze ones, give me the choco, give me the powder,
give me a mixture. Yeah, man popping these things. I
don't just want one flavor.
Speaker 2 (01:36:58):
You gotta have a bunch of munchkins. It's okay, no Eddie.
Speaker 3 (01:37:02):
Also controversy.
Speaker 6 (01:37:03):
Number five goes to the apple fritter is a damn I.
Speaker 1 (01:37:08):
Would say no, it's a fritter, but I know, but
if you can buy it in the donut case, A
lot of times they don't include it in the dozen.
Speaker 3 (01:37:16):
Damn extra up art.
Speaker 1 (01:37:18):
I don't tell you that I love that apple fritter.
Speaker 3 (01:37:21):
Bro Number raspberry jelly Dome.
Speaker 2 (01:37:28):
Where Daddy lives, Daddy Daddy, Okay.
Speaker 3 (01:37:33):
Number three goes to old fashion.
Speaker 1 (01:37:35):
Chocolate, old fashion or maple old fashion. Do not give
me just glaze? Thank you? Wow.
Speaker 6 (01:37:41):
Number two rainbow sprinkles that well I just I just
feel it's it's kind of childlike, right, rainbow sprinkles like
for kids?
Speaker 3 (01:37:52):
Okay, I thought they're made for kids.
Speaker 7 (01:37:54):
Well, I mean you've never offended anymore.
Speaker 1 (01:37:56):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 3 (01:37:57):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 1 (01:37:58):
Especially a good cake one vanilla frosting, chocolate frosting sprinkles
standard in my dozen.
Speaker 3 (01:38:05):
Odd stand Do you eat them?
Speaker 1 (01:38:08):
Absolutely? What the hell is wrong for your kids? And
I hate your thoughts?
Speaker 6 (01:38:19):
Well, we've known that for decades and coming in according
to thrill List as the number one best classic donut
is the original glade you You're so stupid.
Speaker 7 (01:38:29):
I can't believe in is not on there.
Speaker 1 (01:38:31):
I agree with you, Emily, no maple at all. You
mention a delicious Yes, well, everybody, have a donut and
celebrate and toast me. Have a donut for Reddy one,
have another one and another one. I can't do it.
I can't do it. The padres suck. Okay, I'm gonnay,
I'm gonna say they suck right now? Okay, what do
you want me to do? What do you want me
(01:38:51):
to do? Like they're really bad, They're in a full
blown free fall. Right now, we're gonna go over what
happened against the Phillies yesterday next to sports shirt. What
has happened to our beloved Padres? How are they doing well?
They're not winning, Emily, Oh, that's what they're doing. They
(01:39:12):
don't like it anymore.
Speaker 7 (01:39:13):
They don't like it.
Speaker 1 (01:39:15):
Hilly Winning's overrated. I don't know what's going on.
Speaker 7 (01:39:19):
Man.
Speaker 1 (01:39:20):
They were swept by the Phillies yesterday after losing six
to four. Once again, They were down early as the
Phillies jumped out to a three to nothing lead. Zach
Wheeler was dominated until Manny Machado finally got to him,
hitting a two run home run in the seventh to
cut the lead the three to two. Like, oh, okay, cool,
(01:39:41):
I'm glad Manny actually swung the bat. That was good
and he hit it, which is even better, and it
went out, so you're like, okay, okay. The Phillies then
came back and scored three runs off of Adrian Moldy
hone to increase their lead. Jackson Merrill, he came up
hit a two run home run in the ninth. You're like, oh, man,
a couple of guys who are really struggling to hang
(01:40:02):
home runs, isn't that great? Yeah? No, they still lost
the game six to four. I mean, I'm happy, great,
but it was it's meaningless. Yeah. Yeah, they were swept
in the season series by the Phillies. They lost all
six games to them.
Speaker 4 (01:40:20):
What's Stammon saying, because he's saying any I mean, obviously,
what are you gonna.
Speaker 1 (01:40:24):
Slin right now? You know, team's got we're gonna find
a way fighting, We'll get we'll get together. You know,
I'm just saying, Well, everybody wants to fire the hitting coach.
Speaker 2 (01:40:35):
It's his fault. Oh, everybody get rid.
Speaker 4 (01:40:38):
Of everybody could stickybody else.
Speaker 1 (01:40:43):
Uh yeah, Padget has lost five in a row, nine
out of the last ten, and uh now they've completely
fallen out of the wild card spot in the playoff race.
So I mean, it's just it's been a free for all. Man.
It's not good. So hopefully they turn around. They're going
to be returning home taking on the Mets, so we'll
see what happens in that series. But yeah, it's been rough, man.
(01:41:06):
The Yankees are gonna be well out there captain for
a while. Aaron Judge has been diagnosed with a fractured rib.
He's been out out the last three games, and say,
now he could miss some significant time like August. That's crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:41:21):
Yeah, I know.
Speaker 5 (01:41:21):
And with Aaron Judge, I think they're like one hundred
and eighty games over five hundred with Adam their eight
games under.
Speaker 1 (01:41:26):
Oh really yeah, so he's good.
Speaker 5 (01:41:28):
He's good significant But yeah, other guys are hitting. I
know they didn't beat the Guardians last two times, but
pitching is really good. They just got to keep their
head above water until he comes back in August, hopefully
comes back. Eventually, Stanton will come back.
Speaker 2 (01:41:41):
He's hurt again. I know that's crazy, but they'll be
all right.
Speaker 1 (01:41:44):
I hope we'll see. The Hurricanes tied up these Stanley
Cup Finals with a four to three win over the
Golden Knights in overtime. Carolina scored three goals in the
third period to tie it up and to send it
into overtime. In the game, Vegas defenseman Bradon McNabb took
a puck to the face. Ah, that hurt. That hurt. Oh.
(01:42:04):
I left the game, ended up going to the hospital.
So pretty pretty scary stuff. Thor has been locked into
the Women's College Softball World Series. You heard me right,
So he already knows who won, but can let everybody
else know that Texas took down Texas Tech four to
one to win their second straight national championship.
Speaker 5 (01:42:26):
I was hoping Texas Tech was gonna take it home. Man,
you were Yeah, I jumped on the bandwagon. I feel
like last week you've been following, just just during the
College World Series, made.
Speaker 7 (01:42:34):
You like Texas Tech better than the other Texas team.
Speaker 5 (01:42:37):
I only seen the Texas Tech games. They were on
a lot for some reason. I don't know why. I
saw they were fighters. They were fighters. They came back
from down a lot.
Speaker 1 (01:42:46):
I like what.
Speaker 5 (01:42:47):
I like their moxie. Oh so yeah, this is back
to back for Texas, Longhorse. Did you know Oklahoma won
four in a row recently?
Speaker 1 (01:42:57):
I told that studio three days ago talking about she
was asking in the room, and you were. You were
involved in the conversation. Who that is the best programs
that I'm like Oklahoma? Yeah? I told you that.
Speaker 2 (01:43:12):
Well, I said you were actually sitting right.
Speaker 1 (01:43:14):
Yeah. All right, there you go. That is sports dirt
for today. All right, Uh, speaking of sports, you guys
know who Kylie Kelsey is, right, Jason Kelsey's wife. You know,
she has a podcast, has a podcast. She said something
on her podcast that may hit a little weird about fame.
(01:43:35):
We're gonna see what she had to say on her
podcast when we get back on the show A rock
A five three. Uh, you guys know who Kylie Kelsey is.
Jason Kelsey's wife. Former football player Jason Kelsey. He's everywhere now, Yes,
Campbell soup non stuff. That guy. Well, his wife Kylie
(01:43:57):
is uh got a podcast. Isn't that crazy? Podcast?
Speaker 2 (01:44:02):
What a shocker?
Speaker 1 (01:44:03):
It's like what I was talking about the other day,
everybody podcast. Everybody podcast.
Speaker 5 (01:44:07):
Well, because Jason and Travis needed more money after football,
so they started a podcast, still playing, by the way,
I was still playing, not playing great after then then
they got Travis. Then Travis got Taylor Swift as a girlfriend,
and their podcast really took off. And I thought it
was because they're great and highly for some reason was
(01:44:30):
so sassy. So then she became famous for being sassy
and got her podcast what's it called not Gonna Lie?
Speaker 2 (01:44:36):
She was telling the truth what she does.
Speaker 1 (01:44:39):
You don't like it? I don't.
Speaker 5 (01:44:41):
She's whatever, But it's just I remember when she first
launched it, it was like it did great numbers, and
now it's like not, It's like whatever, it's like.
Speaker 2 (01:44:50):
Who's watching this?
Speaker 5 (01:44:51):
But then she still gets like bigger guests, which that's
what annoys me. How do you know so much about
it though, because I don't know. I just I'm in
that world football and stuff in that world. Yeah, she'll
get she'll get bigger guests, and it always annoys me
because I'm like, but not many people are probably viewing
it like it was, but still she'll.
Speaker 2 (01:45:12):
Get, you know, massive guests, and it's just like, what
the hell.
Speaker 6 (01:45:16):
Yeah, she's a celebrity, so they know celebrities and her
people celebrities.
Speaker 5 (01:45:21):
They should that whole Kelsey family. I know they were
famous pre Taylor Swift, but they should be thanking her
every day for what she's done.
Speaker 3 (01:45:29):
It took their celebrity to another level.
Speaker 1 (01:45:31):
Complete nothing level. Yeah, yeah, like it's crazy, Well she
is now. She's got like pretty big sponsorships too. She's
like a spokesperson for like Huggies pull ups or whatever
those are. Yeah, I mean she's like, like, it's crazy.
Speaker 5 (01:45:44):
Yeah, she went from she turns it into like this
mom podcast now Yeah yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:45:49):
I mean, good for you. I guess, you know whatever.
H So Kylie said something recently though on her podcast
that people are kind of crouching their heads a little
bit in saying wait what, like what exactly how could
you you? Well people say.
Speaker 6 (01:46:07):
That, yeah, because personally for me, I you know, I
don't live in that world like Thorn does, so I
you know, could really give a rip if she has
a podcast or not or what she does.
Speaker 3 (01:46:19):
But even I read this this morning and I was like,
excuse me, like how how?
Speaker 1 (01:46:26):
Like this is not good?
Speaker 6 (01:46:27):
The hypocrisy is insane in what she said on one
of her recent podcasts, because she was talking about her kids,
of course, and parenting.
Speaker 3 (01:46:37):
Like we said, her podcast has.
Speaker 6 (01:46:38):
A lot to do with being a mom and raising
the kids. And she she says that because they have
four daughters ranging in age from one to six years old, I.
Speaker 2 (01:46:51):
Can't imagine being that rich and doing this.
Speaker 1 (01:46:55):
Yeah four daughters between one under the age of six. Wow.
Speaker 3 (01:47:00):
Yeah, yeah, that's a lot.
Speaker 6 (01:47:03):
And so she's talking about her kids on her podcast
and she then starts talking about how she wishes her
daughters didn't have to deal with the attention that comes
from their dad's fame. She describes the idea of her
(01:47:24):
kids experiencing fame as quote yuck and terrible. She says,
it's to the point now that when they're playing at home,
they like play celebrity where they'll say to each other,
are you Jason Kelsey?
Speaker 3 (01:47:41):
Can I get a picture of you?
Speaker 6 (01:47:43):
And then pretend like they're posing for pictures? And she
says that.
Speaker 3 (01:47:47):
Is quote yuck and terrible.
Speaker 1 (01:47:52):
And she said that on her podcast on.
Speaker 6 (01:47:55):
Her national podcast bringing more attention to her children and
again has a massive social media following where she regularly
posts pictures of these kids that she is so quote
sad about that they have to deal with fame.
Speaker 1 (01:48:16):
It's interesting, Wow.
Speaker 6 (01:48:19):
I mean you built your brand as an adult around
these children.
Speaker 1 (01:48:23):
All around fame too.
Speaker 6 (01:48:24):
Yeah, fame, your husband's fame and your children you win
of your husband's fame.
Speaker 3 (01:48:31):
You went out of.
Speaker 6 (01:48:31):
Your way to build an entire brand and then talk
about your children nationally. But then when you're asked about
them dealing with fame, you say it makes you sad.
Speaker 3 (01:48:43):
Well, guess what if you would have stayed as a say.
Speaker 6 (01:48:46):
At home mom, like you were before, then this wouldn't
even be a conversation. You wouldn't have a billion people
posting pictures. Like most celebrities, they censor their kid's face face.
Speaker 5 (01:49:01):
If you want to if you want to be a
mom podcaster, then you need to exploit your kids.
Speaker 2 (01:49:05):
Duh.
Speaker 6 (01:49:06):
But no, it makes her sad and she thinks it's
yuck and terrible.
Speaker 1 (01:49:10):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (01:49:10):
I'm looking at her Instagram and her kids are every
other photos like.
Speaker 6 (01:49:13):
Literally literally she is to make them out for this thing.
Speaker 3 (01:49:18):
But sad, yuck, terrible.
Speaker 1 (01:49:22):
Are we at the you done sun level? For Kylie Kelton?
Speaker 3 (01:49:27):
You've done some? I mean she was never in my.
Speaker 5 (01:49:30):
Universe, which I'm surprised about because she's like one of
the top mom podcasters.
Speaker 3 (01:49:36):
But you're you're.
Speaker 2 (01:49:39):
But you but you love moms well, and Sky is
one of those.
Speaker 5 (01:49:44):
I look at Sky as like when I think of
like mom podcasters and mom blogs, I think a Sky
for some reason there.
Speaker 6 (01:49:51):
I literally don't follow a single one or listen to one.
Speaker 1 (01:49:55):
Yeah, her daughter is sixteen now, but you're still I know.
Speaker 6 (01:50:00):
I mean, yeah, maybe if my kid was younger and
it was during the heyday of mom bloggers, maybe I
would have got.
Speaker 3 (01:50:07):
On this train.
Speaker 6 (01:50:08):
But like, how does she say that with a straight
freaking face, Like how could she?
Speaker 3 (01:50:15):
And like she's saying it like she believes it.
Speaker 5 (01:50:17):
It's crazy and there's so many NFL players that were
centers and offensive lineman that when they retired they became
just normal people and either just retired and honestly got
a normal job where he's never hear from him again.
Speaker 2 (01:50:29):
Like just because he played football, he played he's the.
Speaker 5 (01:50:31):
Center, nobody was gonna know who he is. But he
wanted to be fa he wanted to be more, which
is totally fine. Yeah, but that didn't mean she had
to jump on the coattails.
Speaker 1 (01:50:40):
But she did.
Speaker 5 (01:50:41):
You know, they did a documentary about him, her and
their kids on Amazon Prime, right, that's how they got
That's how the yeah, that's how this whole thing started.
And then and then he and then Travis married. This
is pre T Swift, pre T Swift, and that's how
people started to find that about Jason Kelsey outside of
football because he's kind of a character m hm. And
then and she's big in the documentary and so are
(01:51:03):
their kids.
Speaker 6 (01:51:04):
So don't say it makes you sad and it's yuck
if you're literally pushing your children in front of the camera,
Like how can you say that?
Speaker 5 (01:51:12):
That is and their aunt is now Taylor Swift, by
the way, what a terrible life and weirdly kind of
blaming her husband.
Speaker 6 (01:51:19):
Yes, because she says she literally says his fate she
makes her sad because.
Speaker 3 (01:51:24):
Of his face.
Speaker 1 (01:51:24):
Well, how about just go away then? Yeah, stop your podcast,
stop your endorsements, stop and then and then that may.
Speaker 3 (01:51:31):
Help a little and then you won't be sad.
Speaker 1 (01:51:32):
But I don't think she's going to do that. So
sky are we?
Speaker 3 (01:51:38):
I mean I was never in. But if you're asking me,
yeah you done? Son, Oh yeah, you're done?
Speaker 1 (01:51:44):
So oh my, I think somewhere Kylie Kelsey is just like,
oh somewhere you.
Speaker 5 (01:51:52):
Know your melter rings, and you're like, who's talking about me?
Somewhere Kylie Kelsey just like WHOA.
Speaker 1 (01:51:57):
Well, first of all, she heard it, because yeah, I
didn't see that. I thought they was gonna go off.
I didn't see you going to go I've never been
I remember more proud of it, really the weak melt down. Wow. Okay,
well there you go. Coming up on Monday, we're gonna
play our version of the Newlywed game. It is the
(01:52:19):
newly Show game. Plus, me and my wife are in
a little bit of a disagreement about how to handle
something my son wants to do. Now, I gotta get
all your guys' take on it, and see how you
would handle this situation. All on Monday, the show
