Speaker 1 (00:00):
San Diego.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
Welcome to the show.
Speaker 3 (00:03):
New day is here, and what better way to start it.
Speaker 4 (00:07):
Then with I feel like the show is going to
be great.
Speaker 3 (00:09):
This show, I would like to introduce you to.
Speaker 1 (00:12):
The ringleader, Eddie.
Speaker 3 (00:13):
Here's the thing about Eddie you need to know. Eddie
doesn't have the ability to not be Edie the mother
of this crew.
Speaker 5 (00:20):
Guy.
Speaker 6 (00:20):
I'm kind of miss meet, like you can almost talk
me into anything.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
Sure, I'm not a social butterfly, nor do I want
to be.
Speaker 7 (00:27):
And Emily, I am sometimes very very selfish and sometimes
I'm actually very very given.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
Welcome to the show on San Diego's rock station Rock
one oh five three.
Speaker 3 (00:41):
Emily, can I tell you something that I'm proud of
you about?
Speaker 7 (00:47):
Yes, Eddie, because I just am proceeding with caution with
what whatever you're going to tell me.
Speaker 3 (00:58):
I feel like somebody says I'm proud of you.
Speaker 7 (00:59):
You think we don't really talk like that too much.
So I'm not a moron. So I know I feel
like it's coming, something's coming. Yeah, there might be a
I feel like there might be a hair of something
good in there, but the majority of it is.
Speaker 4 (01:16):
Not going to be that great.
Speaker 3 (01:17):
Okay, Well, here's the thing. I'm proud of you because
you continually buy new clothes and you have to know
whatever you wear in here is going to get commented on,
but you continue to do it. So I'm proud of you.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
For doing that. Yeah, like Sky wears the same things.
Like we've already commented on this New York hoodie that
looks like she's a victim in an SVU episode.
Speaker 3 (01:46):
Yeah, she's she's been a victim of some sort of
sexual assaults. She's wet for some reason and detectives are
talking to her and that's all they had found her.
Speaker 8 (01:54):
They found her naked, so they gave her this sweatshirt.
Speaker 6 (01:56):
This is like the police lost and found me some
clothes and dress.
Speaker 8 (02:00):
I've already done that bit. Yeah that's a great, so
we can't do it again.
Speaker 6 (02:03):
So you guys wish I would buy new clothes so
you would have new things to comment because.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
The New York sweatshirt bit is probably my favorite classic.
Speaker 8 (02:11):
It's a class.
Speaker 6 (02:12):
When I picked this sweatird out last night, I am like,
how long will it take into the show to hear
the bit?
Speaker 3 (02:19):
One minute and thirty four seconds you're not a victim?
Speaker 6 (02:23):
Yeah, okay, I did think I was.
Speaker 4 (02:28):
You know, people say, I, look.
Speaker 3 (02:31):
She knows what's coming and doesn't care. So that makes
me proud of you.
Speaker 6 (02:36):
You know, she doesn't care or she just won't let
you guys.
Speaker 4 (02:40):
Hold her back, right, Yeah, But I feel like that's
different than not caring.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
Well, I think if you cared enough, you'd just be like,
I forget it, I'm just not.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
Going to do it. I'd have done that where I
was going to wear something in here and.
Speaker 3 (02:52):
Was really, no, I don't know what would that be.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
I don't know, wild over here forward twice.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
Oh come on, man, I just do it. No, you
can't do that, you well.
Speaker 8 (03:03):
I tried the other day and Eddie told me was
weird in him out?
Speaker 4 (03:06):
Yeah, made flip it around.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
Uh, Emily, she loves the shop, so she's always buying
new clothes and always is rocking new outfits you and
she has come in today. Sometimes she will think to
herself that, like, there there's nothing about this that they
could say, Yeah, she won't see it coming, and she
won't see it coming, and then of course we do
a twenty minute segment about it. Yeah you know, and so, uh,
(03:30):
this one is fantastic. I like it, Okay, but it's
just different. So if it's different, then we're gonna, of course,
commented first thing.
Speaker 6 (03:41):
Out of your guy's mouths off the air. You couldn't
even wait for the mics to be crapped this morning
to comment. I glance, Oh this one you.
Speaker 4 (03:48):
Didn't see comment? Not really?
Speaker 3 (03:50):
Okay, it's a new it's a new switch. So I know.
Speaker 4 (03:54):
Something's going to be said at some point, but like
the level didn't like, I don't understand it. Yeah, you
know what I mean, I don't understand.
Speaker 6 (04:03):
Yeah, yeah, silly boys, silly boys, Yes.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
Glance up and I see Emily's rocking a Point Loma
Pointers sweatshirt.
Speaker 5 (04:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (04:14):
Now, she's of course an alumnus, alumni new it went
to Point Loma And of course you know so that
I guess in your forties would be a little weird
to wear that if you don't have a kid there.
But her niece goes there.
Speaker 4 (04:31):
Oh okay.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
And Emily right now is hyped because her niece is
in the softball playoffs. Yeah awesome, And so I know
Emily when she gets hyped on anything, that leads her
to her decision making. And so because of that, and
she's attended some games. She's now rocking a point Loma
Pointers sweatshirt. Yes, and so.
Speaker 1 (04:52):
That, of course has led to some commentary yes from
the room question.
Speaker 8 (04:57):
Didn't you go to a Catholic school in high school?
Speaker 7 (04:59):
I went re freshman year, I went to UNI, which
is now Cathedral. I was basically I removed myself and
then you kicked out. I removed myself. It wasn't going
so well. Was It wasn't because I refused to wear
the short plaid skirts that they made us wear.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
Did you hike them up?
Speaker 4 (05:16):
I did?
Speaker 7 (05:17):
That was like an uh, because I went to Catholic
from third grade until eighth grade. I went to take
Catholic sk Charles in Plo and so that didn't take.
And then I went to UNI and I was trying
to rebel and I refuse I wanted. I said, I
was going to wear the boys khaki pants instead of
the girl's skirts, just because like it looked cooler like
(05:41):
and it was also like an fu, like I don't
need to wear the skirt if I don't want to
ass And so I remember I would get stuck in
the office, like I'd have to spend days and days
in the office because I.
Speaker 4 (05:51):
Refused, what a ridiculous hild the dime, no kidding.
Speaker 7 (05:54):
And then I just thought it was and then like
it was pretty crazy, like making us go to mass,
obviously it's Catholic school. Like some of the things that
people were doing during the Mass, like nobody was reverent.
It was like it was an as show to be honest,
and so I just says, like.
Speaker 4 (06:08):
This, this sucks, this isn't working out, this isn't working public.
Speaker 7 (06:12):
Save thirty grand or however much it costs to go there,
and just put me in Point Loma.
Speaker 4 (06:17):
Wow, my mom was a Pointer Oh is that right?
Speaker 3 (06:19):
Generational?
Speaker 1 (06:20):
Huh?
Speaker 7 (06:20):
Yeah, my mom, my whole family, all my cousins and
my aunts, uncles, everybody. If your son would have been,
it would have been, it would have been. I don't
live in growth. There's nothing wrong with Lemon Grove. I
live in La Mesa.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
Huh.
Speaker 7 (06:33):
And Mama, Mama couldn't afford any sort of house in
Point Loma.
Speaker 4 (06:40):
Mom doesn't pay to.
Speaker 5 (06:41):
Buy her.
Speaker 7 (06:44):
So a dream come true would have been for me
to be living in Point Loma and to set read there.
Speaker 4 (06:49):
But that's not the way that.
Speaker 6 (06:51):
Okay, Now, how did we come about this sweatshirt. Was
it purchased at a merch booth? Did you go online
and order this up?
Speaker 5 (07:00):
How did?
Speaker 4 (07:00):
How did this work out?
Speaker 7 (07:01):
I actually found it on Amazon ahead of Mattie's last game.
Speaker 3 (07:07):
High school gear.
Speaker 4 (07:12):
I didn't know either, but I thought i'd look and
it was there.
Speaker 7 (07:15):
I ahead of Mattie's last game, which was a big one,
I found this and I found Robert my Man a
black long sleeve shirt.
Speaker 4 (07:23):
He wanted one to wear.
Speaker 9 (07:24):
To the game, even though he was never a pointer,
but he's represented.
Speaker 3 (07:30):
Was we gotta represent?
Speaker 4 (07:31):
Okay, you gotta represent. But my family is like this too.
Speaker 7 (07:34):
We get very spirited about things like my mom brought palm,
bought big bags of pomp palms for the last game,
headed out to everybody. That was actually two other parents
that did the same thing. So my mom was every's
hyped basically the Knicks.
Speaker 4 (07:52):
So that's that's the Delio.
Speaker 3 (07:55):
Does say anything on the back like the big saying.
Speaker 1 (07:57):
It should say get the point. It's got a thing pointers,
get point.
Speaker 3 (08:02):
That's you got to start a line. That's really sick.
Speaker 8 (08:05):
I think that's a great slope.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
And Emily is like really annoyed, and I keep saying
it get the point. It's like it's like her voicemail,
leave a message, or don't get the point?
Speaker 3 (08:20):
The dog pointing at you, Yeah, sick. You got to
make that line? Why that way from there?
Speaker 4 (08:29):
And nobody's ever said that, that's stupid.
Speaker 1 (08:31):
No one ever said a great saying. It's such a
good saying. Anybody that hears, where'd you go get the point?
Speaker 6 (08:40):
You could get those printed up today and set a
stand up outside the game tonight.
Speaker 8 (08:45):
Some times the game, what times the game?
Speaker 7 (08:48):
Come on?
Speaker 3 (08:50):
You're just jealous. You're not in on this.
Speaker 1 (08:54):
On the back, it's just get yeah, sorry with the
dog point, you're not going to do that.
Speaker 3 (09:00):
Look at him, it's only bad. He's a fighting point.
Speaker 4 (09:05):
He's a pointer.
Speaker 6 (09:07):
Well, that's not how dogs actually point. They don't have fingers.
Speaker 7 (09:10):
Dogs probably don't stand on their two legs and wear
sweater like.
Speaker 1 (09:13):
That's a good point.
Speaker 3 (09:13):
That's a good point.
Speaker 8 (09:16):
What they do?
Speaker 3 (09:17):
You know what?
Speaker 8 (09:17):
The dogs get the point?
Speaker 1 (09:20):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
There's so many point little phrases like the whole line.
Speaker 4 (09:24):
Of them, that's what I think.
Speaker 8 (09:26):
Okay, I'm surprised they haven't done that.
Speaker 3 (09:28):
Yeah, that is crazy.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
Someone and some someone and the and the history of
Point Loma High has said get the point. Yeah, someone
has that.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
He's saying, no, I never said in the history of
the school has been around forever, right, I mean.
Speaker 7 (09:44):
I did have a lull. It's been since two thousand
and two that I was there, just hanging around years.
Maybe I'll give it to.
Speaker 8 (09:55):
Girls if you win.
Speaker 1 (09:56):
Today someone scream out get the point and point at
the other door.
Speaker 3 (10:00):
Well, that's bad sportsmanship. I don't think you should do that.
I don't think you should do that. But anyway, I
do like it. I do like the sweatshirt. And you know,
I'm proud of it. It looks very it looks very prestigious,
like a like a Harvard. It really does very very.
Speaker 1 (10:17):
I know.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
I can tell you something I'm not proud of you about.
So I'm not proud of you because yesterday we learned
about your foot situation and how you're in a walking
boot again, second time in a walking boat because you
got all this jacked up foot issues. But where'd you
go yesterday?
Speaker 4 (10:41):
Yesterday? I went home after the show and I attempted
a nap.
Speaker 8 (10:47):
At this post snack too.
Speaker 4 (10:51):
He always looks to comment on my stack and then
up and then I went to the gym.
Speaker 3 (10:58):
You're a moron. I don't think you're in a walking boat.
You have to be in this thing for three weeks.
Last time you were in the walking boat, you went
line dancing and you made it worse.
Speaker 4 (11:12):
That was my left ankle.
Speaker 3 (11:13):
Yeah, you did all kinds of stuff on that damn
boot and you jacked it up even worse. And you
didn't learn your lesson. You go to the gym in
a walking boot.
Speaker 1 (11:22):
What the hell is wrong?
Speaker 4 (11:23):
That's quite a scene.
Speaker 3 (11:24):
It's like insurance fraud or something like. I don't know,
you know what I mean? What the hell is wrong
with this chick?
Speaker 8 (11:31):
I grind never stops in that life.
Speaker 4 (11:33):
Wow, you're saying that. I really don't want to fall
off of the gym.
Speaker 7 (11:38):
I sent a message on the portal to my doctor
and asked if I could still go to the gym.
Speaker 4 (11:47):
What they suggest? Oh, you asked?
Speaker 7 (11:49):
I did ask, and they said what they said, it's okay,
just no weight bearing activities, no weight bearing exercises.
Speaker 4 (11:59):
Avoid What does that mean?
Speaker 5 (12:01):
So?
Speaker 1 (12:02):
I didn't?
Speaker 3 (12:02):
All you ever do is walk on that treadmill.
Speaker 5 (12:04):
That's what I do.
Speaker 3 (12:05):
So that's weight bears.
Speaker 4 (12:06):
I do the treadmill. That I do machines too.
Speaker 7 (12:09):
I don't even know what there any of them are called,
though I decided that I would try, Like I googled
what non weight bearing, you know, Jim Cardio.
Speaker 1 (12:21):
If it told me some sit ups man non weight bearing,
I would just think the bike.
Speaker 4 (12:27):
That's what I did. I end up doing the exercise bike.
Speaker 3 (12:30):
That's with a boot.
Speaker 9 (12:33):
You were to slide in that little already she can't
do it with her feet, So yeah, and f aren't
that point?
Speaker 1 (12:40):
Just used the elliptical machine. That's what she has to
use a strapper foot and that giant step.
Speaker 10 (12:45):
Those ankles are so skinny, they are very skinny. I
can't the boot this is not really it's a it's
a shoe. It's a post surgical ship. It's not like
a full walking boots or sneak.
Speaker 3 (13:00):
Oh, still fat and giant.
Speaker 7 (13:02):
The toe is weird, like it's like almost looks like
I don't know, it's like wider at the toe.
Speaker 4 (13:06):
It's very weird, but it's still not as giant as
you'd think. It's big.
Speaker 7 (13:13):
But but it's not as cumbersome as the giant water
previously worn by me.
Speaker 4 (13:21):
And so it did fit in the straps of the bike. No, no, yeah, really, yes,
that's that's shocking. Slid right in, but I do it.
Speaker 7 (13:31):
Didn't feel a little uncomfortable walking in there, and because
I have to hobble a little bit because obviously it's
uneven from.
Speaker 4 (13:39):
The you're in a walk, So I felt a little odd.
Speaker 7 (13:45):
I felt like all eyes were on me, and either
I looked stupid or I looked like, dang, she really.
Speaker 4 (13:52):
Grinds hard, like she's got that boot on and she's
still going.
Speaker 3 (13:56):
Don't care.
Speaker 8 (13:56):
I'll see this at the gym.
Speaker 1 (13:57):
Sometimes I'll go to the gym and see like a
dude who's in crutches like a cast, and it's so annoying.
Speaker 8 (14:07):
Dude, get out it.
Speaker 1 (14:08):
You have crutches on the cast. You don't even doing
buys right, you.
Speaker 3 (14:16):
Hate it.
Speaker 1 (14:16):
It's so annoying hopping around doing chess day. Somebody's giving
him the weights.
Speaker 8 (14:21):
Give you a break.
Speaker 6 (14:22):
Well, and told her that if this boot thing doesn't
work out, she won't qualify for the surgery she needs.
Speaker 4 (14:30):
And yeah, like that's a risky girl.
Speaker 3 (14:34):
Girl.
Speaker 4 (14:35):
I want to keep going with it. I want to
keep it. Hopefully it gets tighter.
Speaker 6 (14:39):
Grind body, your body, I don't know hopefully your foot
gets fixed.
Speaker 4 (14:44):
I mean, that's I think what we should hope for.
Speaker 6 (14:46):
First.
Speaker 7 (14:46):
I feel like i'm they didn't say stay off of
it completely. Had they said stay off of it completely,
I probably wouldn't go.
Speaker 4 (14:54):
Probably they said just the weight bearing thing. I just
did the bike. I did some ab stuff. Did you
do just like a little one of the machines instead
a machine?
Speaker 3 (15:03):
And then a marathon this weekend.
Speaker 4 (15:05):
I'm not going to run a marathon, Eddie.
Speaker 8 (15:07):
What was the movie or what was that maneuver?
Speaker 3 (15:09):
I don't know.
Speaker 7 (15:09):
I'll google the names of the machines next time, so
I could tell you machine set, a machine, and then
some arm stuff.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
I would love to see Sky go to the gym
with Emily, with Emily showing Sky what to do.
Speaker 4 (15:21):
I think that would be a video that's a double.
Speaker 1 (15:23):
And then you know what, she'd say, get the point.
Speaker 8 (15:25):
Get the point.
Speaker 4 (15:26):
I wouldn't at the end of every workout, I wouldn't say.
Speaker 1 (15:30):
Stupid after every strikeout tonight, someone should get the point.
Speaker 4 (15:35):
Nobody's going to do that. Oh yeah, I can't wait.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
Okay, thank you all.
Speaker 3 (15:41):
This foot thing is a disaster. I tell you that.
Speaker 7 (15:43):
Now you're telling me, how do you drive with that
boot on, It's not Once again, it's the same size
as some of the boots that I normally wear.
Speaker 4 (15:53):
It's not that big.
Speaker 3 (15:54):
It just seems like, okay, okay, well that was rude.
We know how expensive groceries are these days. We're all
feeling it, right, Well, how would you like to win
free groceries for a year. What wouldn't that be nice? Well,
we're gonna hear who says they're giving away groceries away
for free for a year coming up next on the
show Atrock with a five three. So we all feel
(16:19):
it these days. We all know how expensive groceries are.
You know what we used to pay is like at
least twice the amount like our grocery bills, if not
more than that. It's wild, you know, but we all
just have to you know, over and take it.
Speaker 1 (16:37):
Ye.
Speaker 3 (16:39):
Not great. So wouldn't it be nice to win a
contest where you could win free groceries for a year?
Speaker 1 (16:47):
That nice?
Speaker 5 (16:48):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (16:49):
Well what if I told you it was from Amazon? Yeah,
this is the thing. Apparently that Amazon's going to be
giving away free groceries for a year.
Speaker 6 (16:58):
Yeah, they just announce this contest. It started two days ago.
And goes through June twenty second, which is actually the
kickoff of Prime Day twenty twenty six. You know, they
now do Prime Day like twice a year, once in
the summer and I think like once in November or something,
and so it's kind of leading up to that. So
(17:20):
they get to promote that, but they also get to
promote their growing grocery business.
Speaker 5 (17:25):
Now.
Speaker 4 (17:26):
Has anybody ordered groceries from Amazon?
Speaker 3 (17:28):
Not like a big order? Yeah, I've ordered items, one
or two things, yeah, but nothing crazy, have you em?
Speaker 7 (17:34):
I've ordered like last minute things like when I forgot something, Like,
I've ordered a couple of things.
Speaker 4 (17:39):
Yeah, she's once and something else.
Speaker 3 (17:41):
Oh I've never done that.
Speaker 4 (17:43):
I get a little insulated bag.
Speaker 1 (17:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (17:45):
Oh chies too. Oh uh huh yeah.
Speaker 3 (17:48):
Can you order produce?
Speaker 4 (17:49):
Yeah yeah, I get it.
Speaker 6 (17:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (17:51):
Oh like everything you can get it.
Speaker 6 (17:53):
Me. I know.
Speaker 4 (17:54):
That's why I don't like that either.
Speaker 1 (17:55):
I forget. Wow. What have you ordered? Yeah?
Speaker 6 (17:57):
We just started because you know, we ordered like one
or two things here, just kind of like you guys said,
like last minute, Oh my god, I forgot or they
were sold out at the grocery store. And then recently
my husband did like a bigger order, and he wouldn't
shut up about it. And I don't know if he's
right or not, because sometimes the man just says things
(18:18):
that you know, no one could fact check. But he
was blown away because he does most of the grocery
shopping for us. He was blown away by how much
cheaper the things were that he bought on Amazon versus
going to Vaughn's or wheever to get those things.
Speaker 7 (18:35):
But do you have an Amazon Fresh subscription? No, because
that like they are cheaper. But like when I ordered it.
Speaker 4 (18:42):
That one day, I remember it was like a fluke.
Speaker 7 (18:44):
It was a thing they were doing some deal where
like the fees were waved like they're trying to promote
you to sign up for Amazon Fresh.
Speaker 4 (18:49):
So I remember, like, but you have to there's fees.
Speaker 7 (18:52):
If you don't have an Amazon Fresh subscription, you have
to pay extra, like like if you were ordering it
from Postmates.
Speaker 6 (18:59):
Yeah. Yeah, I don't know if he looked at the
final fees. I think he was just talking about like
the actual price of the item. So maybe it got
him on the back end and he didn't realize it.
Speaker 8 (19:12):
But that was crazy.
Speaker 6 (19:15):
But then there's a downside because like it was just
two days ago. It was one of those things, Oh,
we have to order a last minute thing we forgot,
and my daughter talked him into throwing in two Arizona.
Speaker 4 (19:28):
Iced teas in there.
Speaker 6 (19:29):
And the package comes out front and he picks it
up and it's sopping wet and stuff is falling out
of it because it was in one of those like
bag things and somehow there was a pinhole in one
of the Arizona iced teas and it just.
Speaker 4 (19:45):
Got I asked how I left it there? Yeah, And
that was the other thing.
Speaker 6 (19:53):
And I said to him, I said, oh, are you
going to go? Because it's on his account. We actually
one of the rare things we have separate accounts. I'm like, oh,
are you gonna He goes it's ninety nine cents the
whole orders, whole order. Well, it wasn't because everything was
like in cans. He got a couple of cans of
pineapple chunks and two Arizona iced tease.
Speaker 1 (20:11):
You can't go to the store. The hell no, that's
so crazy.
Speaker 5 (20:16):
Clearly not.
Speaker 1 (20:16):
Yeah, so you must have you must be a fresh
member then if you're doing this more and then you
don't even he must have signed.
Speaker 6 (20:23):
Up for it.
Speaker 4 (20:23):
I doubt it.
Speaker 6 (20:24):
No, he he wouldn't sign up for something extra without
fully talking to me about it fifteen times.
Speaker 4 (20:30):
To the point where I just do it.
Speaker 9 (20:31):
Maybe he doesn't realize that I have no idea, but
God himself, you got it. You dig deep on okay,
because yeah, he wan know. I gotta know what's going on,
even when I feel like I want to burst his bubble. Yeah,
by the way, it's just ninety nine cents, I know, right,
that's what he said.
Speaker 4 (20:47):
That's what he said.
Speaker 3 (20:48):
I don't care get it. Yeah, why would I pay
for that?
Speaker 1 (20:52):
And it's more than nine nights because of tacks. Yeah,
it's really over a dollar that delivery.
Speaker 9 (20:56):
Yeah, family, family, right about just call back, get it back,
call back, well you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (21:01):
Yeah, we'll just get a credited to your things the
next thing you order at least.
Speaker 4 (21:04):
I mean, it's so easy with stuff like that.
Speaker 8 (21:06):
They're just used to just spending money.
Speaker 1 (21:09):
That's wild.
Speaker 5 (21:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (21:10):
Yeah, I just kind of let it go to I'm like, okay,
whatever's that's on your brow, that's on your account, that's
on you. But he's become a big fan and he's
doing this more and yeah, so Amazon is really trying
to grow their grocery business. So they have just announced
that you can enter to get what they call free
(21:31):
groceries for the year. And how does it work, Well,
a couple of different ways. The way they're really promoting
is that you can enter once a day by purchasing
fifteen dollars or more on a day from Amazon Grocery.
Speaker 4 (21:48):
Well, you don't have to do it every ding, that's crazy.
Speaker 6 (21:50):
But you know, but if you spend say like one
hundred dollars in your grocery trip and then you just
break it up, you know, yeah, every day something's coming,
two things here, two things there.
Speaker 4 (22:03):
Yeah, that's kind of weird.
Speaker 6 (22:04):
But then if you scroll all the way down to
the bottom of the page, because legally, you can't have
a contest where you where you require people to buy something.
So at the very bottom of the page that's promoting
this contest, there's a button that says click to enter
for free, and you basically can just click on that
(22:26):
and enter to for free every single day. So how
much are they giving you for free groceries for a year?
What what does that actually mean in a dollar amount?
That is, according to Amazon, ten grand worth of groceries
free groceries for a year, which is eight hundred and
(22:46):
thirty three dollars a month.
Speaker 8 (22:47):
That's not free groceries for a year. We spend more
than that.
Speaker 4 (22:50):
You spend more than eight a week, two hundred a
week of groceries.
Speaker 3 (22:54):
I think that's my mine. That mine is around that.
It can be more. Some weeks can be less some weeks.
You're a family of four, Yeah, I think that's totally.
Speaker 1 (23:06):
My wife has it has over one thousand dollars of
a month on groceries for us. Wow, that's not that's
not that's not that's not enough. That's also if you're
saying free groceries for a year, there shouldn't be a
limit on it.
Speaker 4 (23:18):
Yeah, but you know they all do this.
Speaker 8 (23:19):
But then that's false.
Speaker 1 (23:20):
Advertising in my eyes, because you're saying free groceers for
a year for so you wouldn't take it. No, but
that's not the point. The point is it's not free
groceries for a year. If you're a family of four,
you're spending more than ten thousand dollars a year on.
Speaker 11 (23:34):
Growth if your family of six and family at eight,
I don't think I am Yeah, I do have a week,
you know, and so I know how much I'm spending,
but it's it's between it's sometimes it's over two hundred,
sometimes lessan two hundreds.
Speaker 3 (23:45):
So it just depends.
Speaker 6 (23:45):
But I was impressed because like a lot of the
fast food places that are like you know, free burgers
for a year or whatever, you get to go like
once a week. So compared to that business model, I
was actually impressed that, yeah, it's eight hundred and thirty
three dollars a ten thousand dollars gift card. But here's
the thing, you don't have to spend it on groceries.
It's an Amazon gift so.
Speaker 4 (24:07):
Spend it on whatever. So there you go.
Speaker 3 (24:12):
That's wild. Does it surprise you when you see an
older couple and you realize they still seem to really
like each other after all these years?
Speaker 8 (24:21):
Like, how is that possible?
Speaker 3 (24:22):
Well, we're going to see what couple say, how they
still enjoy each other after twenty plus years together? When
we get back on the show on Rocket A five
three sky, how long have you and the boob been together?
Speaker 6 (24:36):
Uh? So this year we will be married twenty six
years and we were together for three.
Speaker 4 (24:43):
Years before we got married.
Speaker 6 (24:45):
Thirty years together, so we're almost on thirty years. Wow, Yeah,
that's crazy old people's stuff. Uh what or we just
got together really young. Yeah, we're both put them both together.
Speaker 3 (24:57):
Do you still like each other?
Speaker 4 (24:59):
Depends when you asked me that question.
Speaker 6 (25:02):
Yeah, it depends when you ask me where you ask
me who who's asking me?
Speaker 4 (25:10):
So yeah, but I'd say the most part, Oh yeah.
Speaker 6 (25:15):
I mean, like because I hear stories of other people,
and I'll hear other like women specifically talk about their man,
and I'd.
Speaker 4 (25:23):
Be like, oh my god, like why don't you just
get a divorce. Clearly you don't like each other, Like
you say the most.
Speaker 6 (25:29):
Horrible things about them, and all, like you know, all
in this room, I'll talk about the boot to you
guys and kind of you know, give them a hard
time about his quirks and his things that annoy me.
But I mean I would never say I dislike him
or hate him by any means. I mean, I love him.
He's my number one. Well, my daughter's my number one,
(25:50):
he's my number two.
Speaker 1 (25:52):
Awful, I mean awful.
Speaker 6 (25:54):
I mean, if they both go overboard, we all know
who I'm gonna do. I'm more life to live. But
but yeah, but overall, I wouldn't I wouldn't trade him.
Speaker 4 (26:05):
In for for anybody else looks for your daughter.
Speaker 3 (26:09):
So what's the secret.
Speaker 6 (26:15):
I don't know, not having anything else to compare it
to just being in it forever or truly we just
kind of get each other and and get that, you know, hey,
we all have quirks, we all have weirdness, we all
are going to change a little bit, but overall, we
care for each other so much that we're gonna like
(26:37):
just deal with it and and know that tomorrow will
be a different day, and know that our lives are
better with each other in it than.
Speaker 4 (26:45):
Not with each other in it, in my opinion.
Speaker 3 (26:48):
So it's kind of accepting each other for who they.
Speaker 4 (26:52):
Are, totally, totally Okay, Yeah, Okay, I don't know how
he did that.
Speaker 3 (26:57):
Okay, I'm just saying I don't understand. It just is
wild to me. But okay, that sounds great. Yeah, yeah,
me and my wife have been together for over twenty years. Yeah, yeah,
I mean we'll be you know, married for I don't
even know how long anymore.
Speaker 1 (27:11):
But I mean, yeah, we.
Speaker 3 (27:12):
Were together for a couple of years before we got married,
and so yeah, I mean we're still very happy. You know,
we still enjoy being with of course, we're going to
get irritated with each other. Of course, there's going to
be days where you're just like, oh my god, I
can't even look at you right now, I'm so irritated. Yeah,
but that's that's few and far between.
Speaker 1 (27:29):
You know.
Speaker 3 (27:29):
For the most part, we really still She's like the
best friend.
Speaker 12 (27:34):
Always like you guys have fun together when when I
want to go do things with her still, which is crazy, yeah,
you know, but again, you know, it's also I do
still enjoy having my alone time and things like that,
and she understands that, and you know, but again, for
the most part, I want to be with her and
nobody else.
Speaker 3 (27:53):
And so you know, we we every single night. Every
single night, we spent a couple hours together watching TV together,
and that's our time and I wouldn't want to do
that with anybody else. So I don't know what the
deal is. Yeah, there is no real secret to it.
Speaker 1 (28:10):
It's just to me.
Speaker 6 (28:13):
You know.
Speaker 1 (28:13):
You have to you have to listen, which sometimes I
don't want to, but you have to.
Speaker 3 (28:18):
You have to be there. You have to listen, and
you have to care about what they're saying. You do otherwise,
you know, what else is there?
Speaker 7 (28:26):
You know?
Speaker 3 (28:26):
So, I mean there's there's not a huge secret to
the sauce. For me, it's just, you know, I haven't
grown tired somehow, and she hasn't grown tired of me,
which is which we're very lucky. And so yeah, I mean,
they apparently asked people couples who've been together for over
twenty years, what's the deal? How do you do it?
Speaker 5 (28:47):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (28:47):
And you still like each other? Because my parents have
been together for almost sixty years, have been over married
for over that long. And sometimes they go, I don't
think you like each other.
Speaker 1 (28:59):
You look at it.
Speaker 3 (29:00):
Well, they bicker NonStop, NonStop, really, and I go, oh
my god.
Speaker 7 (29:05):
But yet they're catch moments though, like little moments where
like you see a tender moment, you know what I mean,
you can not anymore?
Speaker 3 (29:11):
Are you still back in the day but not anymore now?
It's like they just but they are always together. They
can't be a part, but they can't really stand each other.
Speaker 4 (29:23):
I get that.
Speaker 7 (29:25):
That's fair, Like sixty years, like you're not there yet,
but maybe give you another twenty and.
Speaker 3 (29:30):
Its good possibility. Yeah for sure. Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 6 (29:33):
Yeah, So they ask these couples. What are what are
the little habits that you know, a show that you
guys actually like each other and that are important. Top
of the list is they still talk about things that
don't matter, like and like Eddie said, you either pretend
to care or you actually do care. Like when they
come home from the grocery store and want to tell
you about, oh, they're redoing the parking lot at Trader Joe.
Speaker 4 (29:58):
Yeah, and you act like it's big news, and you can.
Speaker 6 (30:03):
Like, what I wonder when they're going to finish that,
you know, So they say it's little conversation things like
that that actually matter.
Speaker 4 (30:10):
Uh, this is a big one. They actually give each
other the benefit of the doubt.
Speaker 6 (30:15):
So if say one comes home in a bad mood
and kind of snaps at you, you don't start talking
divorce right away. You go, oh, they probably had a
bad day. It has nothing to do with me. They
still love me.
Speaker 4 (30:26):
Give them a moment.
Speaker 5 (30:28):
Yep.
Speaker 6 (30:29):
They say they will defend each other if the other
one's not present. It starts talking craps. Yeah, they'll stand
up for their loved one.
Speaker 3 (30:39):
Yeah, yeah, that's the same. Like some women who you know,
you like, what's up with Dave and I know right whoa.
Speaker 6 (30:51):
Yeah, they still make each other laugh, which I think
is important at any stage of a relationship. They say
that couples that have been together over twenty years and
still like each other still will touch each other casually.
Speaker 4 (31:04):
So so you pass each other in the kitchen.
Speaker 6 (31:07):
No, we're not talking about making out here, because we
all know that's gross, and no one likes.
Speaker 1 (31:11):
To touch other casually by just bumping into each other
by accident account.
Speaker 6 (31:15):
I go, no, like what they describe here in the Yeah,
like you pass each other in the kitchen and to
hand on the back or I guess a good game
on the butt always. Oh that's your love language, really million,
They say, if you're at parties together, of course you'll
(31:36):
go your separate ways and socialize, but you always at
some part kind of end up back together, hanging out,
talking in the same circle and stuff like that.
Speaker 4 (31:45):
It's not like you just avoid each other all night long.
Speaker 6 (31:49):
They say, you'll forgive them faster then you'll forgive anyone
else in your life. If you get into it a
little argument, Yeah, you're not gonna hold that grudge. And
they say that you will still ask for each other's opinion,
and you'll actually want to hear their two cents on
what's going on. And the final thing they say that
couples who actually like each other after twenty years do
(32:12):
is they do small things for each other without being
asked or announcing it. Whether that's filling their water glass
or putting out the creamer for their coffee, or you know,
just little things like that.
Speaker 1 (32:23):
They matter.
Speaker 3 (32:24):
Honestly, they matter. You don't have to make giant grand
gestures all the time, but if you do little things
from that that should matter to really. Yeah, I agree,
all right. Thor has been getting in there and been
doing some training with a little Mooe tie wow at
the gym, which is wild man. He's just starting out.
While something happened at the gym while training kind of
(32:45):
humbled them a little bit. It was a little bit embarrassing.
We're gonna see what happened to him while doing this movie.
Tie come up next on the show at Rock with
a five three. So Thor's getting ready for the Freedom
two fifty white House card McGregor or something. I don't know.
(33:05):
Whatever happens, they're going to keep.
Speaker 1 (33:06):
The structure up because it's a nice as the Eiffel
Tower is pretty sweet, pretty sweet as nice as the
Eiffel Tower.
Speaker 3 (33:15):
Or is training?
Speaker 5 (33:17):
Wow?
Speaker 3 (33:18):
He decided on a whim to you know, go to
a gym and try it out.
Speaker 1 (33:22):
Oh sorry, go ahead, No, yeah, I've been working out
with weights for since I was in like eighth grade,
and I just on and off and I just got
so bored and and and I still do. I still
because because muy Thai is just more cardio and and
and learning self defense. And then when I had my
son was born, I just wanted to learn to defend myself,
defend the family, sick.
Speaker 3 (33:45):
Walk weapon, and.
Speaker 1 (33:46):
I want my son.
Speaker 8 (33:47):
I want my son to go into this as soon
as he's old enough.
Speaker 1 (33:52):
I think, I think, I think in schools they should
teach self defense classes to everyone. So I'm making him
do it. He doesn't have a choice. This is going
to be like going to school. He has no choice.
Speaker 8 (34:01):
He has to do it.
Speaker 3 (34:02):
Do you do you have to do muay Thai or
is it jiu jitsu or anything else.
Speaker 1 (34:06):
I'm enjoyed mureti, but he if he wants to do
jiu jitsu, he could do karate.
Speaker 8 (34:12):
He could do karate whatever he wants.
Speaker 1 (34:13):
But he for as long as he's in school, he
has to do this because I think it's going to
teach him like confidence.
Speaker 8 (34:19):
I think it's gonna it's good for his mental health.
Speaker 1 (34:21):
It's going to learn to defend himself, you know people,
because kids are going to try to you know, kids
are kids, and if somebody says something to him or
pushes him or touches him, or he's in a situation
I want.
Speaker 8 (34:31):
I wanted to be able to defend himself.
Speaker 1 (34:32):
So I wish I would have done it at a
young age and stuck with it, because I did do
when when the Three Ninja movie came.
Speaker 8 (34:39):
Out back in the day, I did do karate.
Speaker 1 (34:41):
I just finish.
Speaker 8 (34:45):
I just wish I would have stuck with it.
Speaker 1 (34:47):
It's for the movie he loves I don't know what.
Speaker 4 (34:51):
There's a girl and Rocky is one of the boys.
Speaker 7 (34:53):
That classic because my name is Emily, and everybody used
to say, look when I was in school, A classic, So.
Speaker 3 (35:00):
I don't think it was a class.
Speaker 1 (35:01):
It was OK.
Speaker 3 (35:03):
So those things.
Speaker 1 (35:04):
And also then I started thinking, well, if my son
does this and I'm not doing it, I don't beat
me up.
Speaker 3 (35:09):
So that's what you think.
Speaker 1 (35:15):
I put on Instagram so I put on Instagram, does
anybody no places and p ones are awesome. I had
a million people hit me up because San Diego is
a big mixed martial arts area. As Eddie knows, we
used to have fighters in all the time. And then
one of my friends hit me up about Steal m
m A, which is down the street from us, and
their classes are at noon, which is perfect for us
because I'm up a lot of classes in the morning
(35:37):
or in the evening hard to do. So I go
to steel May right down the street from us, and
they're awesome. So I've been doing moy tie with them
and it's been great and I'm very like a deer
learning to walk.
Speaker 3 (35:49):
Social video. Yeah, I'm there yet a social video because
he wants it to be like beginning. Then you'll do
the after when when he's knocking fools with head kicks.
Speaker 1 (36:00):
I'm not not I don't want to fight, but if
I have to, I will. Well, I don't I don't
like for a long time. I don't like being punched
or kicked.
Speaker 4 (36:10):
But like I but I don't think anyone does know any.
Speaker 3 (36:14):
Some people do this. Guy, you don't know you're a
punch in the face. Man, what's up? So I so I? Uh.
Speaker 1 (36:23):
So I started with them with with coach Carl down there,
and he's awesome. And the first few times I went,
it's very humbling because I don't know what it is
about fighting. Everyone thinks that they know how to fight,
and I don't. I'm not good at fighting, but I
feel like I'm gonna go there. I'm gonna know how
to punch, and I have no idea is.
Speaker 3 (36:42):
Technique to your actual fighting of you know how to
throw a correct punch, Like you can throw a punch
great and knock somebody out, but is it the if
you're in an actual fight, you know, with with professionals,
they'll kill you. Well, you actually know how to dodge
and throw a punch and defend yourself.
Speaker 1 (37:00):
Div Yeah, And when I get there, So I do
Tuesdays and Thursdays and Fridays and then I go to
my regular gym the other days gim I waits in
so I gotta get the waits in stuff. So when
I go there, there's they have like a mixed martial
arts class going on from eleven to twelve with like
legit fighters. And you just watch some of these people
(37:20):
and they are no joke, and it's it's the most
humbling thing. And I've never felt like I played sports.
I played baseball, basketball, football. When I didn't know what
I was doing, I still felt like I'm athletic enough
to figure it out.
Speaker 8 (37:30):
With fighting. If I don't know what I'm doing and
I throw a kick.
Speaker 1 (37:33):
I feel like the biggest wossy one, Like I throw
a kick and I don't know what I'm doing, and
they're like, all right, I do three minutes of shadow
boxing and I'm just looking around.
Speaker 8 (37:41):
I'm like kind of knowing.
Speaker 1 (37:43):
So I'm just learning, though. And they're really good at
the gym of teaching you and making sure that you
feel comfortable, which is cool because a lot of gyms
i've heard aren't like that.
Speaker 8 (37:51):
They don't care.
Speaker 1 (37:52):
So one of the things we do is we do
it and the beginner's class, because I'm in the beginners group,
and there's also a intermediate group.
Speaker 8 (37:59):
The immediate group.
Speaker 3 (38:00):
That's my goal. One day.
Speaker 1 (38:01):
I want to be in the intermediate group one day.
I don't know if I ever get there because it
seems insane, but I want to get there. I'm in
the beginners group. Now there's some people in the beginners
group who I think should be in the intermediate group,
but they haven't made the jump yet for some reason.
Speaker 8 (38:16):
So it was a couple of days ago.
Speaker 4 (38:18):
Do you get like belts that's I don't like ranks
like a black belt, or you get stripes.
Speaker 1 (38:24):
I don't think so. No, I don't think so. I
haven't seen that. You do know who's better? There's some
people there, man, Well, I would never never want to fight.
Speaker 3 (38:33):
Go to Thailand. You'll see what's up.
Speaker 6 (38:35):
Okay.
Speaker 8 (38:36):
A lot of the coaches that Steve may have gone
to Thailand and done that training.
Speaker 1 (38:40):
It's no joe. They wake up at like six am,
run a five k, train for three hours, eat lunch,
run another five k, and then train for three hours.
Speaker 3 (38:48):
It's crazy, and get hit with kendo sticks for an
hour and in their sea.
Speaker 1 (38:53):
Thank you, it's crazy.
Speaker 3 (38:55):
Want to do that.
Speaker 4 (38:56):
I'll just take a nap. Hit the shins the worst.
Never you go to hit me in the with a stick.
Speaker 8 (39:02):
There's this guy there before Hey, and he kicks. He
like I don't.
Speaker 1 (39:06):
He kicks.
Speaker 8 (39:06):
He'll show you how to kick. And his chins feel
like tree trunks.
Speaker 3 (39:10):
Yeah, because that's what he does all days, kick trunks.
He kicks trees.
Speaker 8 (39:16):
And he'll like it's like it's focusing on me, like
but very lightly, and I'm just like ow.
Speaker 3 (39:23):
And he's like half my in. If you get kicked,
they say, it's like taking a baseball bat and just
swinging it at your leg and then and then try
to continue.
Speaker 8 (39:33):
It's crazy.
Speaker 4 (39:34):
I had a coffee table with down.
Speaker 8 (39:38):
It's crazy.
Speaker 1 (39:39):
I love it. It's so the first couple of times
I went, it was just kind of finding my bearings
and like the first couple of times I got punched in.
Speaker 8 (39:45):
The face, it was like whoa, Like this is crazy,
and it was very light.
Speaker 1 (39:48):
So I was there a few days ago and they
do a boxing course as well, which is just similar,
but muy Thai is all as your as your hands, elbows, knees,
and feet. Boxing obviously just hands. So I was doing
the box and there's really no beginner class with boxing.
It's just everyone doing stuff right. So we're doing the
boxing class and there's a couple of new people like me,
and we're kind of just learning the combos because the
(40:10):
combos are like a jab is one across as two
and that's how kind of how you're counting.
Speaker 3 (40:15):
And I'm learning and.
Speaker 1 (40:16):
It's very mentally exhausting because you're all over the place.
So we're switching partners around and I'm learning. And there's
a couple of people that take light spar light sparring,
but there's a couple of people that go like mild sparring.
Oh all right, And part of it, part of me
likes it because it teaches me keep my hands up
because for some reason, I don't know if it's a
(40:38):
natural thing. I always drop after I punch. I always
don't bring my hand out to my face. You get
knocked out right, So you want to keep your hands up.
So I start sparring and with people. And there's a
couple of people that are, like I said, light, and
there's a couple people that are going heavy. Well I
go to this, they go switch and I switch to
a partner. And this is a girl. She's like, it's
(40:59):
not like separated girls, just anybody else. Because there's some
there's most women there can beat the crap out of me.
I mean most women there, yeah, most trained fighters. Yeah,
it's crazy. So there's this girl.
Speaker 8 (41:11):
She's she's like half my size. I want to say,
she's probably five four.
Speaker 1 (41:15):
And but she's she knows, she knows what she's doing.
Speaker 8 (41:17):
She knows what she's doing, and I got the reach advantage.
Speaker 3 (41:21):
I got the reach.
Speaker 1 (41:23):
So she's like really close to me, like somebody. Spacing
is a part of fighting. Eddie knows more about this
than I do. And I'm learning my spacing. I don't
know because if you get too close, you don't punch right.
And it's the whole thing I'm learning. So she's really
close to me, and we're supposed to be light sparing,
but this she knows what she's doing, and she starts
(41:43):
to we start to do the combos, and she starts
really whacking the face, like really hard and like it's
probably a medium spar It's supposed to be light sparring
is like medium is like you're really like and she's
like whacking me in the face and it's hitting me
and it's a girl. It's a girl. And she's really
(42:04):
close to me because she doesn't because she wants to
hit me because and I have the ream and I
kind of haven't done you're supposed to when you're when
you're shadow boxing or sparing're supposed to be moving around.
Speaker 8 (42:14):
I'm kind of just standing in one place, head bro.
Speaker 1 (42:17):
Got him with your head, you got with your body,
and I'm just getting hit in the face over and
over again. Yeah, and then I'm coming.
Speaker 3 (42:23):
Back to her, and.
Speaker 8 (42:26):
So I feel I don't want to hit her, but
also like.
Speaker 3 (42:30):
To give her a receipts.
Speaker 4 (42:32):
That's what you're there for.
Speaker 3 (42:33):
Yeah, but light sparring is light spark and I think.
Speaker 4 (42:37):
You probably just have an instinct as.
Speaker 3 (42:39):
A man like punch a girl.
Speaker 4 (42:40):
Yeah, you don't punch a girl in the face.
Speaker 8 (42:42):
And she's half my size.
Speaker 1 (42:43):
Yeah, So I'm like waiting and then like she hits
me again, and then I'm kind of getting annoyed.
Speaker 8 (42:49):
I'm annoyed to myself because I got to keep my
hands up.
Speaker 1 (42:52):
And then I'm annoyed that like I'm you like looking around,
like somebody says something hitting me really hard. We're lights
are So she hits me again, and then it's my
turn and I go, I'm going for it, and I
kind of I get lucky. It's like when you play
cards for the first time and you get a good
hand and you kind of win. That's kind of what happens.
(43:13):
And I go with the jeb and I jebb her
right in the face, right in the face. And then
but then I harder, kind of hard. Okay, I make
contact and kind of hit her and she and I
could tell that she was fine with it, but I
also felt like, should I not have done that? She's
a girl, you know what I mean?
Speaker 5 (43:32):
Apologize, I kind of went.
Speaker 1 (43:34):
I always apologize whenever I don't know what I'm doing.
I always say I'm sorry, I don't know what I'm doing.
I'm sorry, and I don't know if that annoys people.
I'm sorry, I'm new to this, I'm sorry. I also
try to have conversations mid sparring. Dude, sparring, I'm like, so,
how long have you been doing this.
Speaker 3 (43:55):
Up?
Speaker 6 (43:56):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (43:57):
And then she kind of looked at me and starts
hitting me kind of hard.
Speaker 6 (44:01):
On what.
Speaker 1 (44:04):
She can beat me up? And then also I'm like,
she's also going too hard. Should I tell some money
to tell her?
Speaker 3 (44:10):
You don't need it, you don't need to tell it now.
That's a whisky boy move. That's a whisky boy move. Okay, Okay, So.
Speaker 1 (44:19):
My whole thing is there's a couple people, hers one
of them. When I get better, we're gonna actually spark.
Speaker 3 (44:25):
And I'm ready for it. You're gonna fight that girl.
Speaker 1 (44:29):
And another guy there that went too hard. Get ready
for it. Give me a year.
Speaker 3 (44:32):
She made the list.
Speaker 1 (44:33):
She made the list. Give me a year.
Speaker 3 (44:36):
Eric, Alright, you're ridiculous. The Padres were taking on the Phillies. Picture,
who has that crazy scoreless streak that's going on that
we faced last week. We get to face him again.
That's super great. Well, we're gonna see if the Padres
could actually score on this guy or not next in
sports Hurt it was like deja vu all over again yesterday.
(45:02):
In so many ways, it was ridiculous. Not good, Oh yeah,
not good.
Speaker 6 (45:07):
Good.
Speaker 3 (45:07):
Well, last week, when the Padres were struggling, the last
thing they needed was to face off against one of
the hottest pitchers in baseball. Well, guess what, they got
to face the exact same guy again. As their struggles continue,
things haven't gotten better, and we get to face the
Phillies Christopher Sanchez, who brought his scoreless streak into the game,
(45:30):
and it kept happening. It kept happening. He continued it
through six more innings. He shut out the Padres until
the sixth, when Ty Franz hit a double and then
Jackson Merrill singled it home. To end the streak at
fifty and two thirds innings, which is unbelievable. So it's
(45:50):
the third longest streak in the live ball era, so
it was unbelievable he was able to do that. But
the Padres did break it up finally, so congratulations of them,
I guess. So the game was all tied at one
when the usually reliable Jason Adam came in and he
gave up two solo home runs, one to jt reel
(46:11):
Muto and one to Kylee Sharber to give the Phillies
the lead. Padres then had a real chance in the
eighth when they loaded the bases. Xander Bogart's got hit,
so they scored a run and make it three to two.
In your night count, right we go? And then nothing,
So for the second straight day, they lost the game
(46:31):
three to two. DejaVu, so brutal man this. They haven't
beat the Phillies all year yet, I mean, we're what
one five, I guess, I mean, just terrible.
Speaker 1 (46:43):
This has not been good.
Speaker 3 (46:44):
Padres did make a move though, before the game. They
designated Nick Castiano's for assignment, ending his time with the team,
so he's out of here. Nick was never really comfortable
with his bench role for the team. He's always kind
of been a starter, just it didn't ever really worked out.
He had one cool moment against the Cardinals, remember when
(47:05):
he hit that home run, But that was it, I mean,
so not great. So it was this is kind of
it's kind of messed up that they did it against
his former team. Like then never even game up game
against the Phillies, which is his former team. I thought
that was kind of messed up. But whatever. So they
ended up calling up utility guy Samad Taylor, so he
gets a shot with the team. He's a real fast guy.
(47:27):
So maybe they're going to try and play more like
small ball. I don't know, So we'll see what happens
with that thor. Yeah, your Knicks did it. Wow, your
next did it. In Game one of the NBA Finals,
they beat the Spurs in a back and forth game
one oh five to ninety five. The Knicks were down
by fourteen in the second half and they went out
(47:50):
a run and actually finished the game on a game
on an eleven zero run to steal game one. Like
I said, one five to ninety five. Yeah, it was
a great game. They didn't neither team really played that well.
The leader from Stars like Brunston didn't play great until
the end. He took a lot of shots, but they
are fourteen, came back. Karl Anthony Towns was great, and
(48:10):
Josh Hart had fifteen rebounds, which is crazy. But Jalen Brunston,
he didn't play great. He got hurt twice, but when
they needed him, he came through.
Speaker 1 (48:20):
The scariest part was when they were up eight, they
missed seven shots in a row and it was kind
of like, oh man, it was like the last two
minutes they were falling apart, and then they hit a
couple of threes to take over win by ten. But yeah,
the game one was so crucial because now they've won
what twelve in a row. So I felt like a
lot of people felt like if you if they won,
if they have lost game one. It was a big
(48:40):
mental swing for the Spurs. So obviously Game two is
big for the Spurs.
Speaker 3 (48:44):
Now, how does they do it against Wemby?
Speaker 8 (48:46):
They did.
Speaker 1 (48:47):
Carl Anthony Towns shut him down. He didn't really play great.
I'm sure he'll play better in game two. So hopefully
they win Game two.
Speaker 8 (48:54):
Though that Game two is tomorrow night and then Game
three in New York is gonna be crazy.
Speaker 1 (49:00):
You get wed. It was sold out, which is crazy
for a watch party. And then I had a buddy
outside of the garden at a watch party where there
are thousands of people do christ.
Speaker 8 (49:10):
Wow, Yeah, it's nuts.
Speaker 4 (49:11):
Oh my god.
Speaker 1 (49:12):
That's because like the Knicks, Like everyone's a Knicks fan,
like because like there's no there's no like Jets and
Giants or Yankees and Mets. Like everyone's just a Knicks fan.
But the Nets anyway, So everyone's just a Knicks fan.
Oh okay, so everyone's just getting it's crazy. I saw
three more wins. They haven't won a title over fifty years,
so we'll see.
Speaker 3 (49:31):
Russell Wilson is officially retired. He announced he is retiring
from the NFL after a fourteen year career. He's going
to be joining the CBS pregame Show, so they'll be
on NFL today.
Speaker 6 (49:44):
Now.
Speaker 8 (49:44):
The CBS pregame Show is the most dull pregame show.
Speaker 1 (49:48):
Mid God, it's just all guys with no personality who
would never say anything crazy.
Speaker 3 (49:53):
That's perfect for Russell Wilson. Oh yeah, that's why it's
holy perfect.
Speaker 1 (49:57):
Couldn't just what they wanted some people like it couldn't
be any more opposite of like inside the NBA, which
is like fun, they say things. I like the Fox
per Game Show because they will say things they're.
Speaker 8 (50:07):
A little wacky.
Speaker 1 (50:08):
But then again, Howie Long I feel doesn't even watch
football anymore.
Speaker 9 (50:11):
You're right, So what's the what Harry Bradshaw is that
that's Fox? Yeah, and like those guys nuts, he doesn't
really know what's going on. But but yeah, I had
a great career Hall of Famer. He's border line man
that first part of.
Speaker 3 (50:26):
His career, Yes, and then as soon as he left Seattle,
it's been a disaster because he's I don't know.
Speaker 1 (50:31):
Yeah, once he lost his speed to run around, it
kind of became tough for him because he's so short,
and short guys can't see over the lot.
Speaker 8 (50:39):
They have to be able to move around, and once
he couldn't, it was kind of you know.
Speaker 5 (50:43):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (50:43):
There you go. That is sports dirt for today.
Speaker 6 (50:46):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (50:46):
Have you ever known somebody who is just lucky? You
just know they're lucky and they're just lucky in their life,
you know, I mean that will happen. We're gonna see
how much of our own lives is actually just look
when we get back on the show at rock with
a five three? So do you consider yourself lucky? Lucky?
(51:06):
Are you a lucky person overall? In general? What do
you think?
Speaker 6 (51:09):
Sky?
Speaker 3 (51:10):
Are you lucky?
Speaker 5 (51:10):
Ah?
Speaker 3 (51:11):
Yes, didn't see that coming. I thought it would be
the opposite. What are you lucky about? Uh? It's lucky about.
Speaker 1 (51:18):
He's gonna make this the worst thing ever, the most
cringe worthy thing ever. If you say, the family I have,
my daughter's.
Speaker 4 (51:27):
Gonna be so great, Jamie, you can put down my
millions years.
Speaker 3 (51:33):
Unlucky gambling.
Speaker 4 (51:35):
No, not not so lucky, not so lucky?
Speaker 1 (51:38):
What uy?
Speaker 13 (51:39):
I mean?
Speaker 6 (51:40):
From little things to big things? And maybe the big
things are the little things.
Speaker 3 (51:44):
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (51:45):
So just being born in this country, being born to
a middle class family, having parents that loved each other
and stay together, and.
Speaker 3 (51:56):
Then that's luck. You consider that luck because you could be.
Speaker 6 (52:00):
Born anywhere in this world and that will change like
everything about everything, you know what I mean?
Speaker 3 (52:07):
Isn't that destiny or isn't it like I don't know
what what they would call that? Just lucky? Is I
don't know if that's lucky?
Speaker 5 (52:14):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (52:14):
I mean I guess you're blessed. If you're blessed, yeah,
which I don't know.
Speaker 3 (52:18):
Is that luck? I don't know. I have no idea.
Speaker 4 (52:20):
I could have been bored anywhere to anyone.
Speaker 3 (52:22):
Anybody can say that.
Speaker 1 (52:23):
I get the sentiment of what Sky says, But I
thought we were going more for if you win, are
you good at winning raffles?
Speaker 2 (52:30):
Or like you look at a lot of green lights.
I mean, you're lucky if you born in America. I'm
lucky that I met my wife. Yeah, of course I'm there,
but we're all everyone.
Speaker 1 (52:41):
Could Sayeah, I could say I'm lucky that my son
knock On Wood doesn't have any health issues right now.
Speaker 4 (52:45):
Like yeah, but that's not because there's people who luck.
Speaker 6 (52:48):
There's people who didn't meet a good partner, they met
a crappy partner and that made their whole life sucks.
Speaker 3 (52:54):
Unlucky.
Speaker 9 (52:55):
Yeah, I think there's like, yeah, so I.
Speaker 6 (52:58):
Also feel very lucky that I met my husband and
also that he happened to be listening to the radio
on a day where they were talking about an open
internship and came home and told.
Speaker 4 (53:12):
Me about it. Because if that.
Speaker 6 (53:14):
Lucky, if that didn't happenstance, Yeah, no, I feel like
you can take advantage of luck or not take advantage
of luck too, you know what I mean.
Speaker 4 (53:22):
So I don't think like it's all luck. I feel
it's like what you do with it.
Speaker 6 (53:27):
Because my husband could have told me that and I
could have been like, cool, that's great for them or whatever,
but I decided, you know, so I.
Speaker 3 (53:34):
Feel okay, but you've also then taken that lucky chance
that he heard that, let you know, and you made
something out of it. That's not luck, that's hard work, right,
But it started with the luck.
Speaker 6 (53:46):
Okay, heard that, then I would have never even gone
to the radio station that day and audition.
Speaker 3 (53:53):
You've had almost a thirty year career on one lucky chance.
Speaker 6 (53:58):
Because if you wouldn't have mentioned it, I would have
my oh my god, I would have been like a
social worker or something. You know, well, that's what I
got my college degree, and that's what I planned on doing.
And I liked that unlucky and I look back I
laugh every day. Whereas if I would have done that career, yes,
I would have helped people, but like it would have
been a whole different life, you know what I mean. So,
(54:19):
so like in the big things that matter, I do
feel very lucky slash blessed. You know, however, however you
want to look at it, Yeah, Emily lucky.
Speaker 4 (54:31):
So I was going in the same realm with Sky.
Speaker 7 (54:32):
I was thinking of, like, I am very lucky with
the family that I was born into and where I
grew up and all.
Speaker 4 (54:37):
That other stuff.
Speaker 7 (54:40):
I feel like I've been lucky because like I was
at the right place at the right time when I
got hired to work on Jeff and Jaer's show back
in the day. And then Robert was driving in the
car when I got the Jeff and jer show ended.
He was driving in the car when he heard I
think he was listening to the show and there was
a space opened. Robert loved the show, as I did
(55:00):
to before.
Speaker 3 (55:01):
You knew me too, But I heard lucky. You knew me,
but you know about that.
Speaker 7 (55:05):
I didn't know about the that that there was an
opportunity here, Eddie, Eddie and Roberts told me.
Speaker 4 (55:12):
And then then I started bugging edding non stop. But
I feel like.
Speaker 7 (55:17):
No, but I feel like my luck's run out. Like
I feel like it's been a good ride until the.
Speaker 4 (55:24):
Last you used it all up. Yeah, Yeah, that's too bad. Yeah,
left and right. Things are just really kind of sucking lately.
I been lucky, but not.
Speaker 3 (55:35):
Now, Wow are you lucky?
Speaker 8 (55:38):
I think these chicks have gone way too over the
top with this.
Speaker 1 (55:43):
I think that, you know, I think that, like I
think God has a plan for everybody, and that's part
of God's plan. Luck to me isn't isn't isn't meeting
my wife? I don't think that's lucky. I think that
that's just what is lucky to you. Luck is if
I'm at a charity event, I put.
Speaker 8 (56:00):
Raffles and stuff and I win, that's luck.
Speaker 1 (56:03):
Luck is if I'm at a casino and there's like
there's some people that are good at blackjack, that's all luck.
Speaker 8 (56:09):
You know, how are you good at blackjack?
Speaker 3 (56:11):
It's just luck?
Speaker 1 (56:12):
Like you know what I mean? Like that that's luck.
Luck is when my number hits at roulette, that's luck.
Speaker 13 (56:18):
Is it?
Speaker 1 (56:19):
Do look like my son being healthy is luck? I
don't think so. I don't.
Speaker 3 (56:23):
Is it luck that you like narrowly avoided a car accident?
Is that luck? Or that destiny?
Speaker 8 (56:30):
Destiny?
Speaker 1 (56:31):
I think hitting a bunch of green lights when I
have somewhere to go is lucky. Lucky guy, Oh, I
hit five green lights in the road, don't jinx it.
I don't.
Speaker 8 (56:38):
I don't put that in the same world as getting
a job that I've had.
Speaker 4 (56:42):
For fifteen They're just different types of luck.
Speaker 8 (56:46):
And I just don't think because I don't.
Speaker 3 (56:47):
I don't. I don't.
Speaker 1 (56:48):
I don't agree because I don't think some people are
just unlucky so they have crappy lives, like I don't
think that's the way that goes. Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (56:54):
I don't know how to really quantify this.
Speaker 6 (56:58):
Yeah, everybody has a different definition.
Speaker 3 (57:01):
Am I lucky? And hell? I mean at times I
feel lucky? You know, at times I feel because I,
you know, with door, I'll be like, oh, man, I
looked at I won this blah blah blah or whatever
you know, or you know, I was lucky I looked
upon this situation or whatever.
Speaker 7 (57:17):
You know.
Speaker 3 (57:18):
I do feel that way sometimes. Am I lucky in life?
I think I'm very blessed in my life. I think
that things have worked out really well. Part of that
is through hard work and perseverance and things like that.
I don't know that I, you know, lucked into certain situations.
I mean certain situations I'm happy, like, okay, So the
(57:39):
way I met my wife was kind of weird. I
was going over to this girl's house who I was
interested in, and me and me and my buddy were
going over there. My wife happened to be there because
she was a friend of a friend and we met.
Is that luck or is that destiny? Or is that
I don't know, Like Floresa, I do believe in God's
(57:59):
plan and like as a plan for all us all,
So I do believe that. And I'm like, is that
luck or is that the plan?
Speaker 6 (58:05):
Like if you would have if you would have told
me that story, right, and this is just me and
you've been like yeah, and it turns out she happened
to be there that night, I'd be like, oh my gosh,
you're so lucky that she was invited to that same
party that you were invited to. I would use the
word lucky that you were both invited to the same place.
But I do see what you're saying that the word
(58:25):
destiny could kind of be Okay.
Speaker 3 (58:28):
So we need and what if I, you know, get
drunk and do something and she's grossed out by me?
Does that unlucky or I caused that, you know, what
I mean, like we could have met.
Speaker 1 (58:38):
Yeah, we had.
Speaker 3 (58:39):
Obviously some sort of interest in each other in attraction,
but I mean I could have screwed that up easily.
Speaker 4 (58:45):
Well, and that's the idiot.
Speaker 6 (58:46):
And that's kind of what I said at the beginning,
that you could have good luck or bad luck, but
then it's what you choose to do with it from
that point that can either mess it up or even
with bad luck, Like people are born into very unlucky
circle stances in my opinion, and then they can turn
it around and change their whole life.
Speaker 3 (59:04):
Well, that question was asked about how much of our
lives do we think is actually just luck?
Speaker 4 (59:09):
Yeah, and it was.
Speaker 6 (59:10):
Asked on a scale of one to ten with kind
of weird because one in ten stand alone. But then
it's like two or three, four or five. And that's
how people picked.
Speaker 4 (59:20):
And the biggest.
Speaker 6 (59:21):
Percentage, the number one answer picked, and I don't want
to even say it is yes, SETI six seven SETI
started doing the hand tesser immediately. Yeah, thirty six percent
say how much of your life round? Okay, you'd go
a little so you're like a little less than half, yeah, okay,
(59:41):
And and fifteen percent of people said that, but thirty
six percent the majority said six or seven. After that,
twenty six percent said eight or nine. Oh, it's really
fifteen percent of people said ten, Like your whole entire
life just luck is your luck is dictated by good
or bad luck. Crazy, with only four percent of people
(01:00:02):
saying one kind of meaning like it didn't really matter
at all.
Speaker 1 (01:00:05):
Right, Well, there we go.
Speaker 3 (01:00:07):
Today is Throwback Thursday, so of course we're gonna play
our game Throwback Trivia that's coming up next on the
show and Rock with a five three. All right, today
is Throwback Thursday, so of course that means we got
to play our game, a little throwback Trivia.
Speaker 1 (01:00:22):
I'm taking it back to the old school. I'm taking
it back to the old school books day.
Speaker 5 (01:00:28):
Now put your mind into why let's.
Speaker 4 (01:00:31):
Go eighties, nineties, two thousands.
Speaker 7 (01:00:35):
Now you know.
Speaker 5 (01:00:37):
Their name is, the game is trivia.
Speaker 4 (01:00:48):
It's time to play throwback Trivia.
Speaker 3 (01:00:52):
All right, a little tvt he little Throwback Trivia Trivia
questions from the eighties, nineties, two thousands and the twenty ten. Yes,
it is a random draw between the four of you
who play every week, So let's pick some players here,
all right? Playing this week is you Sky, You're backing
again coming off a big win.
Speaker 4 (01:01:13):
I win, Please let me play again Street.
Speaker 3 (01:01:17):
Actually, what is that supposed to mean?
Speaker 6 (01:01:19):
Well, I mean, Jamie's like five years old, so the
chance of him knowing throwback knowledge.
Speaker 3 (01:01:25):
He's one games one game has one.
Speaker 6 (01:01:28):
But I feel this game is harder on him than
anyone else, just because he's the youngest of the crew.
Speaker 4 (01:01:33):
So that's why I always hope to play Jamie.
Speaker 3 (01:01:37):
Your opponent will be not Jamie. Emily. Oh okay, Emily.
Speaker 4 (01:01:45):
Immediately starts rubbing hard. Helps warm up my mind. My
warm up my mind.
Speaker 3 (01:01:51):
Okay, okay, this is weird. Let's begin, all right, all right, Sky,
you are up first. Your question is from the two thousands. Guy,
what is the name of the high school in Mean.
Speaker 4 (01:02:03):
Girls, Mean Girls?
Speaker 1 (01:02:10):
Damn? I kind of felt like it was the mom
from Mean Girls.
Speaker 3 (01:02:20):
Girls.
Speaker 4 (01:02:21):
No, I mean, I do enjoy it.
Speaker 6 (01:02:23):
I've only seen it a couple of times, but they
named the high school.
Speaker 4 (01:02:27):
Yeah, Like, I could keep up with.
Speaker 6 (01:02:29):
A couple of references, but I'm not dropping the references
by any means.
Speaker 4 (01:02:33):
Yeah, Wednesdays we were pink. Thank you oh so much?
Show it off already. I don't know.
Speaker 6 (01:02:45):
I'm gonna say Riverdale.
Speaker 3 (01:02:48):
Good guess this says Riverdale. That is incorrect. We were
looking for north Shore High High.
Speaker 1 (01:02:57):
Okay, I was.
Speaker 4 (01:02:58):
I wasn't close.
Speaker 3 (01:02:59):
Okay, not even now? All right, Emily, I don't know.
I what this should be in the in the rotation
for Emily, I don't know, though this is a very
specific question, though your question is from the nineties. Emily,
what is the name of the black cat in hocus Pocus?
Speaker 5 (01:03:21):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (01:03:21):
She loves hocus Pocus.
Speaker 3 (01:03:23):
She's standing up. I don't know if that's like she's
trying to think of what the name is celebrating, or
if she knows it. I don't know what's happening right now.
She's freaking out.
Speaker 4 (01:03:33):
I throw up.
Speaker 7 (01:03:34):
Why because all I have in my head is Jinx.
But that's obviously the cat from the parents.
Speaker 4 (01:03:40):
Oh my god, that's why it's in there. That's why
I keep saying Jinks, because I think the cat's name
is Binks.
Speaker 3 (01:03:45):
What, Emily, is that your guess?
Speaker 1 (01:03:47):
Yes, it is Binks. Oh my god.
Speaker 8 (01:03:51):
She jumped in the air on her bed foot.
Speaker 3 (01:03:54):
You doing that's why the celebration. You haven't won the
game yet, you I know, But I really loved. The
full name is Thackeray Binks, but they call it Binks.
Speaker 7 (01:04:04):
Actually, I do remember hearing I just love that movie.
And so if I didn't get that right, I was
gonna be really mad at myself.
Speaker 3 (01:04:09):
That game would have been over.
Speaker 8 (01:04:11):
Would have been Remember how she gets.
Speaker 4 (01:04:14):
I don't get mad.
Speaker 6 (01:04:15):
I don't like losing all of us and all three
of us don't like it. Yeah, but you get really
frustrated with your heart on yourself.
Speaker 4 (01:04:22):
In this I am hard on my Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:04:24):
Yeah, it's almost creepy, very competitive. Okays, all right, Sky
over to you. Your question is from the eighties, one
of my favorite questions it's ever been asked. I'll be
honest with you, but I don't think it's going to
be in there. But I know, I don't know. You
could be Sky, Well, then tell me this, Okay, from
the eighties. What is the subtitle of the Porky sequel?
(01:04:50):

Speaker 1 (01:05:05):
It's in that movie.
Speaker 3 (01:05:07):
Really, in Porky's I don't know if she's in the sequels.
Speaker 1 (01:05:10):
Very like, it's very seventies. Really, that was in the eighties, right, yeah,
it's eighties.
Speaker 4 (01:05:15):
All right, what's the Porky's two? Back to the locker room?
Speaker 3 (01:05:23):

Porky's too. The next day, the next day, that's what
it was called.
Speaker 4 (01:05:31):
Next Day.
Speaker 1 (01:05:32):
I don't know, that's what it's called.
Speaker 3 (01:05:33):
All right, there you go, All right, Emily, back over
to you. Your question is from the nineties, and it's
an audio clip. This is a song from the nineties,
So you got to get.
Speaker 4 (01:05:45):
I mean, you love nineties of music.
Speaker 1 (01:05:47):
What are you doing?
Speaker 4 (01:05:48):
You're very nervous.
Speaker 3 (01:05:49):
Give me the name of this nineties artist or song
title from the nineties. That is every nineties song. Oh,
that is every nineties song. I don't know what that Okay,
what do you think, Emily? What artist or song titled
did that clip come from?
Speaker 6 (01:06:03):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (01:06:04):
And I said a lot about Breakfast at Tiffany's.
Speaker 7 (01:06:07):
It's Breakfast at Tiffany's. I don't know the artist, but
I think the song is Breakfast at Tiffany's.
Speaker 3 (01:06:11):
Emily says, Breakfast at Tiffany's and she is correct. That
is from Deep Blue something Hit.
Speaker 4 (01:06:21):

love wow.
Speaker 3 (01:06:27):
Them. I don't know. I don't know, all right, her,
I have no idea. Honestly, I have no idea. All right, Sky,
over to you. Your question is from the twenty tens,
and it is a movie description. I'm going to describe
a movie. You got to tell me what movie I've
described from the twenty tens? Are you ready?
Speaker 5 (01:06:45):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (01:06:45):
All right? Sky A us Marshall is sent to a
menstal mental institution on a remote island to investigate the
disappearance of a missing patient. He discovers a web of
deception and starts to question his own sanity. What twenty
ten's movie did I describe?
Speaker 4 (01:07:06):
Crap? This is one that I know what it is.
Speaker 6 (01:07:10):
This is Leonardo DiCaprio, but I don't.
Speaker 4 (01:07:15):
I'm not one hundred percent. I don't know the title.
Speaker 6 (01:07:18):
My brain is saying Shutter Island, but I don't know
if that's a thing. What is the name of But
I want to say like inception, but that's something else.
I see Leonardo DiCaprio in this movie. I'm going to
say Shutter Island.
Speaker 3 (01:07:34):
Sky says Shutter Island, and you are correct, sky Okay movie,
your brain says.
Speaker 4 (01:07:41):
My brain said it, but then you trust your brain.
But I'll say your brain. Your brain is wrong. I
don't understand, never seen it, but I'm impressed.
Speaker 3 (01:07:53):
Yeah, this is a good movie. Oh it is twists
and turns in. Oh okay, okay, all right over to you, Emily.
Your question is also from the twenty tens. Emily, which
celebrity was not in the famous Ellen DeGeneres oscar selfie?
Speaker 4 (01:08:12):
Wow?
Speaker 6 (01:08:13):
That was it?
Speaker 3 (01:08:14):
Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts or Kate Blanchette.
Whoa who was not in that selfie?
Speaker 4 (01:08:25):
Okay, I know that Bradley Cooper was, and I know
Jennifer Lawrence was. Can you read the name?
Speaker 3 (01:08:29):
It's just one more time, Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Brad Pitt,
Julia Roberts, Kate.
Speaker 7 (01:08:35):
Blanchette between Pitt and Roberts. For me, I'm gonna say
Brad Pitt wasn't.
Speaker 3 (01:08:44):
Emily says Brad Pitt. That is in corerac. Kate Blanchette
really did make the selfie.
Speaker 4 (01:08:55):
I thought that was so random. That that wouldn't that.
That's why, that's why it was.
Speaker 3 (01:09:00):
All right back over to you, Sky, We got a ballgame. Here,
here we go. This is an audio clip. Oh oh my,
this is a movie from the two thousands. Okay, you
got to tell me what movie from the two thousands.
This clip is from Hi, Hi, my fingers are.
Speaker 2 (01:09:17):
Extra fishy today.
Speaker 3 (01:09:18):
If you would care to take away.
Speaker 7 (01:09:22):
What is that?
Speaker 3 (01:09:23):
I was petting my wallce all morning and I was
thinking about you the whole time.
Speaker 9 (01:09:28):
Okay, perfect, I think that you should leave what I'm
just soving around because of what we talked about yesterday.
Speaker 4 (01:09:35):
Yesterday I've never even met you, all.
Speaker 3 (01:09:40):
Right, Sky with two thousands movie?
Speaker 6 (01:09:42):
Was that clip from one of my favorites, Scenemen about
a dozen times building the waffle house.
Speaker 4 (01:09:47):
And then you know that she forgets so sad fifty
first dates.
Speaker 3 (01:09:52):
Wow, Sky says, fifty first dates and then weirdly kisses.
That is correct.
Speaker 4 (01:09:58):
That was a gift for me. Stef's kiss, Chef's kiss. Okay,
I love that movie.
Speaker 3 (01:10:02):
Would that that we've you've tied the game. You've tied
the game?
Speaker 1 (01:10:06):
Can we go?
Speaker 3 (01:10:06):
Emily, get in there?
Speaker 4 (01:10:08):
I am in there.
Speaker 3 (01:10:09):
Get in there.
Speaker 4 (01:10:09):
I'm oldest one.
Speaker 3 (01:10:11):
Get in there, all right, Emily, here we go your
questions from the nineties. Emily, what was the name of
the Golden Girls spin off show where they ran a hotel?
Speaker 5 (01:10:23):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (01:10:23):
God, wow, damn it? What my sister will be upset.
Speaker 1 (01:10:28):
My sister lived.
Speaker 7 (01:10:29):
I never knew they had a spin off show, so
that's going to be a problem with me. Answering this
question definitely.
Speaker 4 (01:10:35):
Definitely be off show my Blanche's house.
Speaker 1 (01:10:44):
House.
Speaker 3 (01:10:45):
That is incorrect. Think about it ran a hotel Golden
Girls spin off, gold Golden Palace.
Speaker 4 (01:10:54):
Oh, even if I got there, what have said? Golden
Hotel Palace would never be in.
Speaker 5 (01:10:58):
The damn it?
Speaker 3 (01:10:59):
Okay, Okay, that didn't work out. All right, very good,
sky back over to you. Your question is from the nineties.
Sky which nineteen nineties one hit wonder song spent fourteen
consecutive weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot one hundred.
(01:11:21):
Was it Barbie Girl by Aqua Great Song, tub Thumping
by Chumbawamba, Yam Macharina by Los del Rio, Stay by
Lisa loebe or Mambo Number five by lou Bega.
Speaker 4 (01:11:35):
What year?
Speaker 3 (01:11:38):
Well, it's not one year nineties, but one of them
was fourteen consecutive weeks on the number one Billboard chart.
Speaker 6 (01:11:44):
I mean they could all be a correct answer, so
I don't know, it would just be guessing. But before
you gave me the option the options, I immediately envisioned
Thor's ad doing the Mockerina.
Speaker 1 (01:12:02):
Just dance for any song, and you name me a song,
Name me a song.
Speaker 8 (01:12:05):
Somebody was with the mockerin.
Speaker 4 (01:12:07):
Wait, what really makes.
Speaker 8 (01:12:11):
Nirvana rape Mecarina?
Speaker 3 (01:12:13):
What I mean, that's I'm uncomfortable to so.
Speaker 6 (01:12:17):
Since I honestly believe it could be any of them,
but that's what was again in my brain, and my
brain did well before I'm gonna stick with my brain
and say, Mockerina.
Speaker 3 (01:12:29):
The mokarena is correct. Wow, Wow, that's crazy.
Speaker 4 (01:12:36):
Bray, you're cheering your brain. Okay, get it.
Speaker 3 (01:12:40):
We know the Mockerena.
Speaker 1 (01:12:41):
Everybody knows that you're not incredible.
Speaker 3 (01:12:43):
All right, it comes down to this, Emily, Now you
got to get this question right to tie the game,
to send it into a type breaking question.
Speaker 1 (01:12:50):
She's got this, she's pissed. I believe I appreciate that
she's got off the deep end.
Speaker 3 (01:12:54):
What thing, Emily your questions comes from the two thousands, Emily,
what was Paully's nickname on the Sopranos?
Speaker 4 (01:13:07):
Oh, I didn't watch the Sopreme have you ever heard?
Speaker 6 (01:13:13):
No?
Speaker 7 (01:13:14):
I was thinking that's James James Vanderbeek show, James Ganelfini,
But that's not I don't think his name was Polly.
Speaker 4 (01:13:24):
Buster. I don't know, obviously, so I'm just guessing.
Speaker 3 (01:13:30):
Polly Buster, if Emily is correct, if we're going to
go Unfortunately, Emily, that is incorrect. He was known as
Polly Walnuts Walnuts soprano Tony Okay, no, no, Tony sopran
(01:13:51):
Polly Walnuts was so that means sky back to back wins,
which has not happened all year, maybe ever, to be honest,
maybe ever.
Speaker 6 (01:14:01):
Wow, don't judge my dances over here.
Speaker 3 (01:14:04):
Emily's about the spiral. Sorry, all right, it's a great day.
So because it is a little TVT today, a little
throw about Thursday. Uh kretty crazy. Today's story came up
about my boy Brett Michaels. One of the strangest phone
(01:14:24):
calls I've ever received in my life was one day
I get this phone call came up with a number
unknown or whatever, you know, one of those kind of
numbers and I usually don't answer those calls, but for
some reason I picked up Hello. He goes andie, what's up, man,
It's Brett Michaels, and I'm like, uh, excuse me what,
(01:14:45):
I don't even know what you're talking about. Like that
did not register and I'm like huh, And I end
up having like an hour long conversation with Brett Michaels,
which from Poison, which is crazy.
Speaker 1 (01:14:58):
On the other end of the spectrum, he called me
for some reason too, and I didn't answer because it
was an unknown number and I got like a two
minute voicemail but there was no number to call back.
Speaker 8 (01:15:08):
Devastating, brutal, devastating.
Speaker 3 (01:15:10):
Yeah, so you know, talking to Brett was amazing. It
was super cool. I grew up big Poison fans, so
I mean awesome. The reason why he was calling he
was thanking us for having his daughter on our show,
Rain Michaels's awesome. Rain is a smoke show. She is gorgeous.
She used to do the San Diego Seals like sideline
reporter stuff in game entertainment type of thing or whatever,
(01:15:33):
and we had her on talking about the Seals and
she was great, so nice, and we kind of became friends,
and she was been on our show a couple of
times because of that, and so Brett thought that was
really cool and really nice, and so he called us
and said thank you for that. That was you know,
he means a lot, such a great dude, so proud
of his daughter and all that stuff. And then and
then we had Brett on our show talking about the
(01:15:54):
same thing when when Rain was in one time, he
called in and was just like, you know, it's like
a proud dad. It was like crazy and so super
proud of his daughter, loves his daughter, all that stuff,
which is great. Well, Rain is starting to get a
little bit of a celebrity herself because she has been
cast in this What is it Netflix?
Speaker 7 (01:16:14):
Netflix is a new Netflix series called Calabasas Confidential.
Speaker 3 (01:16:17):
Yes, which is again like love Islanding, you know whatever.
Speaker 7 (01:16:21):
Yep, And I want to watch this. I try to
watch a little bit of it. It's a little bit
too much. It's very Laguna Beach. It's like exactly like
Laguna Beach.
Speaker 3 (01:16:28):
Cab Oh, I thought it was a dating show.
Speaker 7 (01:16:31):
No oh no, no, no, it's like literally watching it.
It watches the same exact thing. I feel like I'm
watching the Hills a good Yeah. So it all follows
these like kids that are in their early twenties that
have come back from college and now they're all back
at Calabasas after graduating. Now they're all coming together again
and where their lives are and like they're ready to
be inobs in the real world of Calabasas, total real world.
Speaker 6 (01:16:56):
But the thing that's interesting in regards to if you
like Brett Michaels are poor and part of the concept
is when they're coming home from college, they're returning to
their parents' mansions to live for the sun.
Speaker 3 (01:17:09):
Lives with their dad.
Speaker 4 (01:17:10):
It's a hard life, you guys. Masterpiece Son, isn't it? Oh?
Speaker 1 (01:17:14):
Really it is? Romeo Romeo, Little Romeo. Little Romeo had
an MTV Cribs episode because he had a crib next
to his dad's crib and then he had like and
then he would drive around in like a in like
one of those tiny mb Yeah. He was like thirteen, yeah,
oh yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:17:29):
And then a clip from the show I saw Romeo
and master Peer Masterpiece like putting down some bother knowledge
like they're having a really big.
Speaker 3 (01:17:38):
Sounds like a great show. Actually, obviously Brett is you know,
very proud of his daughter for doing that and you know,
getting you know, her own gig. I guess if you
want to call it that so hot, she's beyond hot. Well,
Brett has also come out and supported his daughter's other
new career.
Speaker 6 (01:17:59):
Yeah, so since she's back living at home, and you
know what, I don't want to spoil anything, but you
get episodes sometimes that the parents are involved because she's
living at Brett's house.
Speaker 4 (01:18:13):
So in episodes, she's going to live under his roof.
Speaker 8 (01:18:15):
It's his rules.
Speaker 6 (01:18:18):
So in episode seven they're seeing playing a little basketball
in the backyard.
Speaker 9 (01:18:27):
Of course he doesn't his house because that's what the show,
I know. But she can't get trying to make it
in this world. She can't get her on her own apartment.
Speaker 3 (01:18:39):
And she's lived there for a while. Yeah, because remember
when we talked to him, we was we were talking
to him about her living there. Yeah, and there's you know,
some weird stuff obviously about that, you know that comes
along with that, and so yeah, I mean this is wild,
but I.
Speaker 7 (01:18:52):
Think she was living there and then she would just
come and stay at a hotel or whatever when she
would do the Seals stuff.
Speaker 4 (01:18:56):
I get or something like that.
Speaker 6 (01:18:58):
But you know, Netflix loves this because it's like you
get celebrity too for what you know. Right, So in
episode seven, we're playing a little basketball in the backyard
and then we're gonna sit in the shade for a
little bit and just talk father, father, daughter, right.
Speaker 3 (01:19:12):
And breaking news, guy, you were wrong. What he's not
wearing a bandana, he's wearing a hat.
Speaker 6 (01:19:18):
Well, there's there's a under it under the because he
does doubles up from the back, you can see the bandana.
Speaker 3 (01:19:24):
I never never is without a binion.
Speaker 1 (01:19:26):
It's it's yeah, her sister, Georgie Michaels, No, another one
and another one. Really, it's just like her dope game.
Speaker 4 (01:19:37):
Yeah, well your sisters, Okay, now you both this is
not the point of what we're talking about. And he's done.
Speaker 8 (01:19:44):
Is Georgie Georgia she give me on the show.
Speaker 4 (01:19:47):
I don't know how she lived. Did you just take
your pants and put the back on? Please?
Speaker 3 (01:19:50):
No?
Speaker 1 (01:19:51):
My god, no.
Speaker 6 (01:19:52):
If she lives at home, she'll probably be on the show.
I don't oh god, if she's left the nest yet
or not?
Speaker 8 (01:19:59):
On Netflix?
Speaker 5 (01:19:59):
Is okay?
Speaker 4 (01:20:03):
All of a sudden, you will not be watching calab
confidentially don't put it on the list.
Speaker 6 (01:20:11):
So they sit down together and that's when Rain has
to tell her dad about her newest venture and wants
to get his input because she has just joined feet Finder.
That's a website where people can buy and sell foot
related content. And so when you tell your dad something
(01:20:33):
like that, you you don't know how we're going to
react because clearly it's sexual and stuff. He says, quote,
I think feet Finder is a brilliant, brilliant decision, and
then goes on to talk about how poison you know,
what's the first in the digital world when it came
(01:20:54):
to music. I don't know.
Speaker 4 (01:20:57):
Yeah, I don't know what that's based on.
Speaker 6 (01:20:59):
Just to make it, but he says he thinks it's
a brilliant decision and she has a beautiful feed.
Speaker 4 (01:21:07):
So there you go. Is that how you would react
if your daughter came home from me?
Speaker 3 (01:21:12):
If I would feel the same way, I mean, it
depends how much money she's getting.
Speaker 4 (01:21:15):
I mean you just paid for her to get a college.
Speaker 3 (01:21:17):
Yeah no, yeah, that's not great. Whatever, go whatever you
make that money, you go. Girl. When somebody does something
like steal your food at work, I mean that can
get real ugly, real fast. Right, Well, we're going to
see what happened in one person's workplace that caused a
major issue. Cut m next on the show at Rock
with a five to three. So there's all kinds of
(01:21:41):
different situations that could pop up at work where you
can get real irritated with your coworker. A lot of
times these things happen in the break room where you're
just like, what the heck is going on? Like that
time Sky helped herself to some creamer? Do you remember that.
Speaker 1 (01:21:57):
Came co worker was splash? I mean, the definition of
stealing is taking something that isn't yours? Was the creamer yours?
Speaker 7 (01:22:05):
No?
Speaker 1 (01:22:06):
Wow?
Speaker 8 (01:22:07):
And did you take some of it, whether it was
a splash not?
Speaker 1 (01:22:09):
Did you take some of it?
Speaker 4 (01:22:11):
Splash?
Speaker 3 (01:22:13):
If you still somehow got into my bank account and
only took a splash ten bucks.
Speaker 1 (01:22:21):
Which is a splash?
Speaker 3 (01:22:23):
Is that stealing?
Speaker 5 (01:22:24):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (01:22:24):
Yes? But then thank you, thank you?
Speaker 1 (01:22:28):
No more questions.
Speaker 13 (01:22:31):
She's still talking, give me the bit. She won't stop talking. Contempt, contempt.
I don't know the judge, I think I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:22:41):
Wait, no, I was a lawyer. What happened? You won't
stop talking anyway? So yeah, that can cause big issues.
I mean, you take somebody's food, that's going to cause
what's take fired immediately. I go to the boss every
day until and say that. I'm like, hey, you know
Scott's a creamer right now it was ten years ago.
Well that every day, and we have some co workers
(01:23:07):
who warm up food that will stink up the entire
building to the point where it's called fart eggs.
Speaker 4 (01:23:16):
Yeah, that happens. That happens. That happens.
Speaker 3 (01:23:20):
Don't like that. You You are well known in the
building for the smelliest foods.
Speaker 4 (01:23:26):
Remember whether I'm well known.
Speaker 3 (01:23:28):
Oh yeah, I don't.
Speaker 4 (01:23:29):
Think the station on the other side of the wall
from you, the the the radio station.
Speaker 6 (01:23:34):
They did a whole investigation where they were sending people
around to figure out where that better.
Speaker 1 (01:23:41):
From. It was crazy.
Speaker 3 (01:23:43):
Yeah, you make disgusting heart egches.
Speaker 1 (01:23:47):
Reached up to I do.
Speaker 4 (01:23:48):
I'm embarrassed by it, but I'm not going to stop
doing it so that I like it.
Speaker 6 (01:23:54):
I do.
Speaker 7 (01:23:55):
I like the way I feel when I eat my
egg whites with spinach and broccoli and whatever variation I.
Speaker 1 (01:24:00):
Made for the week. It's so gross.
Speaker 4 (01:24:02):
I did start doing something different where I don't care
I started. That was really rude. I really want to
tell you, you know, I getited talking about food.
Speaker 7 (01:24:10):
I've been making my egg white scrambles at home and
then making it like a thing of it for a
couple of days, so I feel like the scent isn't
as gross.
Speaker 1 (01:24:19):
Because eggs two days.
Speaker 4 (01:24:25):
Liquid right, meal prep? No way I cook. I cooked
them all up, so it's a scramble.
Speaker 8 (01:24:28):
I thought you were using like the liquid container. I
do the god your poor liquid, cook it and then
bring it in two days.
Speaker 4 (01:24:39):
Prep, meal prop, meal prep. It's called meal prep.
Speaker 8 (01:24:43):
Some things you can meal prep. Some things you shouldn't.
Speaker 4 (01:24:46):
Go on line bro lots of people.
Speaker 1 (01:24:48):
I'm not.
Speaker 8 (01:24:50):
Prep way longer than you.
Speaker 4 (01:24:51):
I'm not saying that.
Speaker 8 (01:24:52):
I was just saying some things you should meal prep
with some things you shouldn't.
Speaker 4 (01:24:57):
I think sometimes anyway, whatever, we could go on and you.
Speaker 7 (01:25:00):
Wanted to talk about this that I changed my ways
a little bit, so it's curved the smell a little bit.
Speaker 4 (01:25:06):
That's all I'm saying, thank you, thank you.
Speaker 3 (01:25:09):
Well, these kind of things cause big issues at work. Well,
I guess that can also happen at a police station.
Speaker 6 (01:25:17):
Yeah, you would think, you know, some people are would
be better than other people as far as immune, as
for co workers or just you know whatever, But it
turns out not so much. Uh So, this happened over
the weekend in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, at police headquarters
when all of a sudden, this veteran detective is there
(01:25:37):
and he starts smelling something funky in the office, and
that's when he finds out that a patrol man was
warming up.
Speaker 4 (01:25:46):
Fish in the mic.
Speaker 3 (01:25:49):
The worst we'll do it though, Oh yeah, yeah, And if.
Speaker 4 (01:25:53):
I was here all day long, probably would do it.
Speaker 6 (01:25:59):
Then.
Speaker 9 (01:25:59):
I know you.
Speaker 3 (01:26:02):
He would be so pistol.
Speaker 4 (01:26:05):
That's so gross.
Speaker 6 (01:26:07):
So I guess the detective had some words with a
patrol man of like, dude, there as certain things you
cannot do at work, and heating up fish in a
community area and microwave is one of them. Well, that
turned into a bit of a disagreement, so the detective
decided to pull out his service weapon and put at
the other.
Speaker 4 (01:26:27):
Office quickly threats if it would ever.
Speaker 6 (01:26:32):
Happen again, And that is the point where the detective
was then arrested for pointing a.
Speaker 4 (01:26:40):
Gun fish, which turns out to be a felony.
Speaker 6 (01:26:45):
So now the detective has been fired and is also
facing felony charges.
Speaker 3 (01:26:51):
Tell somebody like, hey, what'd you get fired for? I
pulled my gun on the guy who was making fish.
Speaker 4 (01:26:56):
Got mad over fish?
Speaker 3 (01:27:00):
There chill out. Yeah, I get it though. Some things
I smell with Emily.
Speaker 8 (01:27:03):
I'll tell you that, right, man, I don't carry.
Speaker 3 (01:27:07):
We are about to hit the summer blockbuster movie season, right,
all the big movies come out in summer. Well, there
have been some major flops in summer as well. We're
gonna go over the worst Summer Blockbusters ever when we
get back on the show on Rock with a five three.
Speaker 11 (01:27:27):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:27:28):
So, you know, here we go. We are about to
start the like summer blockbuster season. You know, all the
big movies come out usually in the summer. Big one
coming out pretty soon is that disclosure Day? Ed Spielberg. Man,
Initially I was like trying to tell you, you're right.
Speaker 5 (01:27:44):
Try.
Speaker 8 (01:27:44):
I can't wait to see it.
Speaker 3 (01:27:45):
I'll tell you people.
Speaker 1 (01:27:46):
Saying it's gonna be really good. Emily Blunt looks great
in it. I'm really excited about it.
Speaker 3 (01:27:51):
Yeah, I mean, it's the first time Spielberg's gone back
to like aliens in a really long time. So people
are like, put.
Speaker 1 (01:27:59):
Out a movie, been a long since he like the
actually directed a movie in a minute, right, No, I
don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:28:08):
But yeah, it's gonna be amazing, and so that's gonna
be a huge summer blockbuster for But there's a bunch
of them, you know, it could be this week. I
don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:28:15):
Is Masters of the Universe gonna be a big comedy?
Speaker 5 (01:28:21):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (01:28:21):
Yes, and no I will never see it.
Speaker 1 (01:28:23):
Oh you know you weren't.
Speaker 3 (01:28:26):
You weren't growing up kid in the eighties like me, man,
Master of the Universe was massive and they and they've
failed anytime they've tried to make it into something. And
so this one I can't tell, like is it good
or is it bad? I don't know who's playing, So
it's a it's an actor. I don't know who what
his name is, but no, but he's got a huge
(01:28:48):
buzz about him. My daughter thinks he's hot. If a
sixteen year old thinks you're hot, and you've got something going,
you know. And so this this is his big four
Way to the movies and stuff like that. Jared Lido's
playing skeletor Oh really, that's a bad sign.
Speaker 8 (01:29:07):
I could see the terrible movies.
Speaker 3 (01:29:10):
Yeah, yeah, except for Morbius.
Speaker 8 (01:29:12):
I mean, that's one of the worst movie, super big blockbuster.
Speaker 3 (01:29:15):
It was not so it could the summer season could
kick off this week.
Speaker 4 (01:29:19):
I could see scary movie coming out this We're not
doing that.
Speaker 3 (01:29:22):
We're not doing that. Either Masters of the Universe is
going to be a massive hit or it's gonna be
a massive flop. I don't think there's an in between
for that movie.
Speaker 4 (01:29:28):
Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 6 (01:29:29):
They say there's some potential this summer for some movies
that can either be big time blockbusters or they can
be big bus One of them is Masters of the Universe.
Speaker 4 (01:29:39):
The other is Supergirl. O.
Speaker 3 (01:29:42):
See, I don't get any of these comic book movies
are always usually pretty good and pretty big. That one,
I don't have any.
Speaker 1 (01:29:50):
It reminds me a lot on Guardians of the Galaxy.
I know it's by the same director, but it's got
that like funnyish vi vibe to it.
Speaker 4 (01:29:57):
Who plays her?
Speaker 3 (01:29:59):
I can' I don't want to say her name because
I don't want to have to hit the dump button.
Speaker 4 (01:30:02):
Is close to a naughty word or something I'm not.
Speaker 1 (01:30:05):
I can't say it.
Speaker 3 (01:30:05):
I don't.
Speaker 6 (01:30:09):
Oh Millie, Oh, okay, and then also, and then people
also not sure if it's gonna be a massive blockbuster
or a flop.
Speaker 3 (01:30:23):
The Odyssey that's gonna be a huge hit. I don't
care what anyone says. It's gonna be a massive massive.
Speaker 12 (01:30:31):
I have.
Speaker 8 (01:30:34):
No desire to see this movie.
Speaker 3 (01:30:35):
You're out of your mind. I've seen you're gonna You're
gonna see what a big hit it is. You're gonna be.
Speaker 1 (01:30:44):
These all these actors they like, they like cream their
pants over Christopher.
Speaker 8 (01:30:50):
Nolan, but he's never won. He's never won an Oscar.
Speaker 1 (01:30:54):
None of his movies have everyone Oscar right forever.
Speaker 3 (01:30:57):
Spielberg didn't, Scorsese, didn't they finally do.
Speaker 8 (01:31:00):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:31:01):
I just get over it. I have no desire to
see I have all the desire.
Speaker 8 (01:31:08):
Do we need an Odyssey movie?
Speaker 3 (01:31:10):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:31:10):
Like you have to read it in school. Isn't that
bad enough?
Speaker 3 (01:31:12):
Yeah? I don't remember what happened?
Speaker 1 (01:31:13):
Okay, I sure don't like the trailer where Tom Holland
calls him dad.
Speaker 3 (01:31:20):
That's weird.
Speaker 8 (01:31:21):
It's like Greek mythology.
Speaker 3 (01:31:22):
Yeah, that's terrible. It's terrible. We'll see.
Speaker 8 (01:31:27):
I know there's a lot of big name I'm sure
it's gonna look great. I just have no desire.
Speaker 1 (01:31:31):
I don't care.
Speaker 9 (01:31:32):
Like, did we need an Odyssey movie? You said that, Okay, yes,
we did skuys with me on this. Yeah he's not
a history buff.
Speaker 5 (01:31:39):
Yeah I am.
Speaker 3 (01:31:40):
Yeah, that makes you a loser right now.
Speaker 6 (01:31:42):
Well, and my daughter just had to read The Odyssey
this past year, and I was trying to I was
trying to help her understand it. We literally had to
YouTube a video because like there's so many hallucinations and
things that are real and art.
Speaker 1 (01:31:56):
Really, the thing is, they are they going to talk
with accents in or they gotn't think so?
Speaker 3 (01:32:01):
Well?
Speaker 1 (01:32:01):
Some of them have, Like Tom Holland has an accent. Yeah,
but but but but not Damon plays his dad, right,
so does that have an accent?
Speaker 5 (01:32:10):
You know?
Speaker 6 (01:32:10):
And people are critical about that. They say, if this
is a history, if it's a history, break mythology.
Speaker 1 (01:32:15):
You don't like accents?
Speaker 8 (01:32:17):
I know, but there you gonna talk with an American accent?
Speaker 3 (01:32:21):
Make up your mind. I don't know, you're not making
any sense. Wild anyway, that was gonna be a blockbuster,
smash it.
Speaker 8 (01:32:29):
I never wanted the movie to fail.
Speaker 3 (01:32:31):
More, My god, that's rude, really rude.
Speaker 1 (01:32:35):
There's also a movie come obviously, this one with Mark
Wahlberg where he plays like a mob guy and he
teaches up with the CIA. It's based on a true story.
If you've seen this the trailer for it, and it's
pretty good, No I haven't.
Speaker 3 (01:32:46):
Of course that's one you want to watch.
Speaker 4 (01:32:49):
Oh it's not that one, the Balls movie.
Speaker 1 (01:32:51):
No, no, no, this one's going actually in the theater. Actually,
it's like a good movie that Wahburg is doing.
Speaker 4 (01:32:58):
Have you ever wanted a movie to fail more?
Speaker 3 (01:32:59):
More anything? I didn't want a movie fail more than
any of mine. Well, as you hear, there are big
blockbuster movies like The Odyssey, and then there are big
summer fails man that they've had out there. So they
decided to put together the rankings of the worst summer blockbusters.
Speaker 4 (01:33:18):
Yeah, the where the movie theater.
Speaker 6 (01:33:20):
The movie studios put a lot of money into it,
big names, think it's gonna be huge, and.
Speaker 8 (01:33:25):
Then it's this is what I'm gonna say.
Speaker 1 (01:33:28):
What It may be on the list, but it's like
considered like the biggest flop of all time by Disney,
And it kind of ruined a guy's career because he
was on his way up, John.
Speaker 3 (01:33:39):
Carter, that was a great movie.
Speaker 1 (01:33:41):
Eddie is the only person on earth who liked this movie.
That's not true, Eddie. It was one of the biggest flops.
Back watch Who's who is Incredible? Who was like he
was star was Rising and it literally ruined his mo No,
it did not, I mean it did, know it did not.
Speaker 4 (01:33:57):
Was that a summer release?
Speaker 6 (01:33:58):
It was?
Speaker 3 (01:33:59):
I thought?
Speaker 1 (01:34:00):
Was it not a summer I don't know, because it's
not on this It's considered like Disney's biggest flop?
Speaker 6 (01:34:04):
No?
Speaker 1 (01:34:04):
Was it?
Speaker 3 (01:34:05):
It?
Speaker 6 (01:34:05):
Reely was?
Speaker 8 (01:34:09):
You know it was, But for some reason Eddie liked it.
Speaker 1 (01:34:12):
Wasn't bad.
Speaker 3 (01:34:13):
Wasn't as bad as people said. I actually saw it.
Did you see it exactly?
Speaker 1 (01:34:19):
It's gonna be almost as good as The Odyssey? Yeah, okay,
I hope it's better.
Speaker 5 (01:34:24):
Well.
Speaker 6 (01:34:24):
Yeah, they put out the top ten were Summer blockbusters
of all time, and number ten goes to Jonah Hex
from twenty ten DC Josh Brolin making Fox.
Speaker 8 (01:34:35):
How many DC movies are gonna be?
Speaker 3 (01:34:37):
Probably?
Speaker 4 (01:34:39):
Yeah, that didn't do so well.
Speaker 6 (01:34:41):
Number nine from twenty seventeen we have The Dark Tower
Stephen King book features Elbow, Matthew McConaughey.
Speaker 3 (01:34:49):
Yeah, did you like it was weird? It was definitely weird.
Speaker 8 (01:34:52):
I guesst me guess it wasn't that bad though.
Speaker 3 (01:34:57):
Just because every movie listen pal, just because it doesn't
make a lot of money doesn't mean it's automatically bad.
Speaker 1 (01:35:05):
Thank you.
Speaker 6 (01:35:07):
Coming in number eight, we got the worst guy, Tommy
c from twenty seventeen The Mummy.
Speaker 3 (01:35:13):
Oh that was terrible.
Speaker 4 (01:35:15):
Yeah that was I did see it.
Speaker 1 (01:35:17):
How do you you knew it was bad going in?
Why would you waste your time? I don't trust people
like you tell me things are bad.
Speaker 3 (01:35:23):
I'm gonna make my own thing bad. It was terrible.
Speaker 8 (01:35:27):
They were supposed to be like a whole franchise.
Speaker 3 (01:35:29):
Yeah, round the Ruin that ruined? Did tom cruise?
Speaker 1 (01:35:33):
They tried to like Mission Impossible with The Mummy. It
didn't work.
Speaker 3 (01:35:38):
Only Brendan Fraser can do a Mummy movie.
Speaker 1 (01:35:40):
Whook I heard that smart?
Speaker 4 (01:35:43):
Yeah, bring back Fraser, not Tommy, and weis is gonna
be Yeah?
Speaker 5 (01:35:48):
Okay.
Speaker 6 (01:35:49):
Coming into number seven, worst summer blockbuster of all time?
They finally figured this out, but back in the nineties
it flopped Super Mario Brothers.
Speaker 3 (01:35:59):
Oh well, yeah, I didn't even know that was a
summer movie. But yeah, that was garbage.
Speaker 4 (01:36:03):
I remember that movie in the nineties.
Speaker 3 (01:36:04):
Yeah, it wasn't it it was it was live action.
Speaker 4 (01:36:07):
Yeah, it was a live action Yeah, like the villain character.
Speaker 3 (01:36:11):
It was totally atrocious.
Speaker 4 (01:36:13):
Super that looks so bad?
Speaker 3 (01:36:15):
No, I mean it was like shockingly bad.
Speaker 9 (01:36:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:36:17):
Yeah, so not so good.
Speaker 6 (01:36:19):
Number six, Eddie, I don't know how you're gonna feel
about this one from twenty fifteen, Fantastic Four.
Speaker 3 (01:36:25):
No, it was bad. Okay, so you agree again they
had they didn't figure out Fantastic four, and so this
last one, yeah, you know, because Marvel got finally got
ahold of it. But yeah, those Fantastic War movies were
not good.
Speaker 1 (01:36:36):
Just atrocious, Okay.
Speaker 4 (01:36:37):
I didn't want to offend you.
Speaker 3 (01:36:38):
No, I mean it was god awful. So I agree.
Speaker 6 (01:36:42):
Number five were summer blockbuster from twenty ten, The Last Airbender.
Speaker 3 (01:36:48):
Yeah, that one was supposed to be huge, massive, and yeah,

behind Yeah, and it just it did not work and
people did not like it.
Speaker 4 (01:36:58):
Number four.
Speaker 6 (01:36:59):
You cast Eddie Murphy, It's going to be big. Two
thousand and two, The Adventures of Pluto Nash.
Speaker 3 (01:37:06):
That one was one of the all time biggest flops.
I bet you Emily likes this.
Speaker 4 (01:37:10):
I've never seen you. Probably, I've never seen any.
Speaker 1 (01:37:12):
Of you probably so far really not one, not one?
Speaker 4 (01:37:15):
Well, I don't think you need to.
Speaker 3 (01:37:17):
She would like these?
Speaker 4 (01:37:18):
Well, she was, Actually, she likes the movie.
Speaker 3 (01:37:21):

You would love this movie, she alad on my list.
Speaker 4 (01:37:27):
Okay, coming in number three.
Speaker 6 (01:37:29):
They really thought they were gonna nail this one. In
two thousand and four, Catwoman with Halle Berry.
Speaker 3 (01:37:36):
One.
Speaker 1 (01:37:36):
Yeah, well, I mean she just did it was bad.
It was like she was like drinking milk out of
a bowl and now it's only fancy.
Speaker 3 (01:37:45):
Yeah she was.
Speaker 4 (01:37:46):
She looked hot at it, licking herself.
Speaker 9 (01:37:49):
That was.
Speaker 4 (01:37:50):
Yeah, it's pretty weird. Number two.
Speaker 6 (01:37:52):
This was a classic that they probably should have stopped.
But in nineteen eighty seven Jaws the.
Speaker 4 (01:37:59):
Revenge, Oh yeah, you know Jaws two.
Speaker 3 (01:38:04):
Wasn't that bad? Kind of weird that the same thing
would happen to the same family, You know, Sharks just
keep finding you. Then Josh three was Josh three D
That was a banger banger, And then I Believe It's
Jo Just four was the revenge, right, yeah, I think
(01:38:26):
I don't know, but yeah, what are we doing?
Speaker 1 (01:38:28):
Like how many shark giants sharks people are?
Speaker 5 (01:38:31):
You know?
Speaker 3 (01:38:31):
And he wants the revenge? Yeah, but they killed them
every time they killed the but.
Speaker 6 (01:38:37):
It's always related to the first shark.
Speaker 9 (01:38:40):
I know.
Speaker 14 (01:38:40):
If it's the shark's cousin, that doesn't make any Seriously,
all right, I guess so not so good and coming
in as the number one worst summer blockbuster of all time.
Speaker 6 (01:38:52):
Starring our boy well John Travolta Battlefield.
Speaker 3 (01:38:56):
Earth, rocking about scientology. Okay, nobody liked it.
Speaker 4 (01:39:05):
I don't think.
Speaker 3 (01:39:06):
I don't know why this classic.
Speaker 6 (01:39:07):
I don't think I was saying in Battlefield Earth, yea
make it? Oh yeah, you did lots of dreads.
Speaker 4 (01:39:18):
Any bets in this movie?
Speaker 1 (01:39:19):
Great? Oh yeah, that one was a giant for Surety
will be on there, son, you mother.
Speaker 3 (01:39:30):
The Padres were in the exact same situation they were
in last week, struggling and then having to take on
the hottest picture in baseball? Howd they do this time?
We're going to tell you next to Sports Dirt. Oh boy,
you weren't watching a repeat from last week? No, this
(01:39:53):
actually happened again. Where last week the Padres were struggling
like they still are, and and they needed to face
off against one of the hottest pitchers in baseball. Well,
guess what they got to face the exact same guy
again as their struggles continue. They went against the Phillies
Christopher Sanchez, who brought in his score to the streak
(01:40:15):
into the game and he continued to baffle the Padres
and not give up any runs through six innings. He
shut out the Padres until the sixth inning, that is
when Ty France, the Padres best player. What you heard me, right,
It's ridiculous. He hit a double and then Jackson Merrill
(01:40:36):
singled him home to end the streak at fifty and
two thirds innings, which is incredible. It's the third longest
streak of all time Indie Live Ball era. So that
guy was just untouchable. I mean, it's crazy how good
he has been. So a little tough, but the game
was tied. It was still just Walker Bueller maybe threw
(01:40:57):
his best game, got no help from the offense. This
as usual, But I was one one and you're like,
all right, here we go. Usually what happens you bring
in the bullpenked out ohked out all right, not so much.
Usually reliable Jason Jason Adam game in and gave up
two solo home runs went to JT. Real Muto and
(01:41:18):
Kyle Schwarber to give the Phillies the lead. Padres had
real chance though in the eighth when they loaded the bases.
Xander Bogart's got hit, so that scored a run to
make it three to two.
Speaker 4 (01:41:28):
Here we go, Okay, that was that was?
Speaker 3 (01:41:32):
That was that they lost the game and the second
straight day three to two. Weird.
Speaker 4 (01:41:38):
Yeah, it's yeah, I don't know, Emily, I don't know losers.
Are you cursing at your screen yet at home? I'm not.
I wasn't that.
Speaker 3 (01:41:47):
You don't want her to get ambivalent? This is that's
even worse. Yeah, look at her.
Speaker 4 (01:41:54):
Well I'll watch a little bit and then I'll them
a nap. Wow whatever, take a little movie, nap.
Speaker 6 (01:42:02):
That's it. We're in a bad place when Emily's not
pumped to watch.
Speaker 4 (01:42:05):
Well, it's the ten am game.
Speaker 6 (01:42:06):
You know.
Speaker 4 (01:42:06):
I'm all about the game time too, Is that right?
Speaker 9 (01:42:10):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:42:12):
Really she.
Speaker 6 (01:42:15):
Is.
Speaker 4 (01:42:16):
Okay, I don't know why I have.
Speaker 1 (01:42:17):
To say that with the question that there was a
pause and any are you watching today. Absolutely, you're not
going to nap at all after the game?
Speaker 4 (01:42:26):
WHOA, okay, I mean I'll watch up until whenever. Naptime
is what.
Speaker 3 (01:42:31):
If they are, it's like tied one one and it's
crazy game.
Speaker 6 (01:42:35):
I want it.
Speaker 7 (01:42:35):
Yeah, it's crazy, but naptime it's got something to do
later tonight.
Speaker 4 (01:42:39):
I need to try to get arrested. I'm good. Hey, yes,
shut up.
Speaker 3 (01:42:46):
The Padres did make a move before the game. They
designated Nick Castiano's for assignment, ending his time with the Padres.
I wasn't the greatest time, to be honest. Nick was
never really comfortable with the bench role for the team,
and so he wasn't that good for them. It was
a little weird timing though, as they did it in
(01:43:07):
the series against his former team, the Phillies. You would
think they give him at a couple of bats against
his former team, you know, get a little No, didn't happen.
They called up utility guy Samad Taylor to take his place,
a real fast guy, so hopefully, you know, maybe we're
gonna play a little small ball in there.
Speaker 1 (01:43:23):
Guy, I gotta change it up. I'm changing big things
for Samadh Jersey, Samod We'll have a game winning hits today.
Speaker 4 (01:43:32):
Oh you're calling it?
Speaker 1 (01:43:33):
That would be I hope you're right.
Speaker 3 (01:43:36):
Him and Ty France best padre.
Speaker 1 (01:43:39):
You're talking about.
Speaker 8 (01:43:40):
Man, he's bat in one seventy nine.
Speaker 3 (01:43:41):
They don't do that, you know. Come on, we're all
very upset right now.
Speaker 8 (01:43:47):
The media is very nice to him here.
Speaker 1 (01:43:49):
Man, he was in New York or Boston or something,
he'd be getting detroid right now because he's got to
I get that. These guys ten homers, I get it.
Speaker 3 (01:43:59):
But no, he is literally the worst hitter for average
with all the people that qualify for batting average after
a certain point.
Speaker 1 (01:44:08):
It's crazy.
Speaker 3 (01:44:09):
He's the worst. You hope that this work.
Speaker 1 (01:44:13):
Hope this is the downside of his worst Okay, you
hope this isn't the downside of his career.
Speaker 8 (01:44:18):
He's got seven years left on that deal.
Speaker 4 (01:44:20):
Damn.
Speaker 3 (01:44:23):
Hey, we got Ty Franz.
Speaker 4 (01:44:25):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (01:44:27):
The New York Knicks did it in Game one of
the NBA Finals. They beat the Spurs and a back
and forth game one oh five to ninety five. Now,
the Knicks were actually down by fourteen in the second
half when they stormed back actually finished the game on
an eleven zero run. They steal Game one in San Antonio.
Speaker 1 (01:44:48):
This is huge.
Speaker 3 (01:44:49):
Jalen Brunson scored thirty in the win, so unbelievable win
for your Knicks.
Speaker 1 (01:44:54):
There's a video going around as viral right now of
Jalen Brunson walking off the court into the locker room
to the tunnel and everyone keeps putting like music behind
it of like certain things like and and it's just
one of those things where if they win the series,
you're gonna see forever because he just looks like pissed
and not satisfied at all, and he's like mean mugged people,
like his game face is still on. It's I just.
Speaker 8 (01:45:17):
Like he's the most he's.
Speaker 4 (01:45:20):
If he saw the postgame interview with Yeah, and he's
like not happy.
Speaker 8 (01:45:23):
No if he wins.
Speaker 1 (01:45:24):
If they win this, he'll be immediately on the Mount
Rushbo of New York Sports and be like a legend,
in real legend up there with like Derek Jeter, Eli Manning,
like Babe Ruth, Like he'll be up there. I'm not
even joking, he'll be up there with them. And he's
like the most unassuming superstar, like he's got like a
low key personality, no ego, he's only like six to one,
which is really short for basketball.
Speaker 8 (01:45:44):
He doesn't do a lot of commercials like he's just
it's crazy.
Speaker 1 (01:45:48):
It's crazy, like, but he's a killer.
Speaker 3 (01:45:50):
See what happens Game two?
Speaker 1 (01:45:52):
A lot of bag Jamie, okay, a lot of raven Do.
Speaker 3 (01:46:03):
I think he just didn't he just say I watched
the game.
Speaker 1 (01:46:11):
At all.
Speaker 3 (01:46:12):
I mean, who do you think? Sounds like they're random?
Speaker 1 (01:46:14):
Lady?
Speaker 3 (01:46:16):
Okay, we got it. That is sports start for today.
You pretty much know when they use AI for pictures
most of the time because you end up with like
six fingers, or the background is like off jointed or whatever. Well,
one big company used AI to create and sell something
that I had some mistakes and they somehow didn't notice,
(01:46:39):
but people sure did. We're gonna see what it is
they were selling coming up next on the show at
Rock with a five three. So a lot of the
times you will probably be able to figure out if
somebody used AI to do a picture. You know, you're like,
oh wait, why is that tree cut in half that
you're saying next to it seems why does that person
(01:47:02):
have a seventh finger on their one hand? Their foot
is like like off off facing the other way. Yeah, like,
what's this a little bit you can kind of tell.
Speaker 1 (01:47:12):
Yeah, then behind them looks a little distorted, Yeah, items.
Speaker 3 (01:47:15):
Odd, but whatever. So yeah, you mean these things will happen.
But I guess apparently a pretty major company decided to
use AI for a picture and then sell something from it.
Well whoever did this didn't really notice, and people can't
believe how did you not notice this because everybody else did.
Speaker 5 (01:47:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:47:36):
So you know, things are either going to blow your
mind with AI or they're going to fall into the
category of AI slop. And that's definitely what people were
saying when Dodge Ram Trucks decided to post a new
shirt on their merch website because you know, with like
all auto companies, you can buy merch and this he
(01:48:00):
wants patriotic because you know, to fifty America. Yeah, so
they unveiled a new shirt that was titled twenty twenty
six Ram Patriotic T Shirt and it was selling for
twenty nine to ninety five, and it went up on
the website and quickly came down from the website because
(01:48:22):
basically what it is is a big American flag and
then in the foreground you have a hill with a big,
meaty truck.
Speaker 4 (01:48:31):
On top of it. Yeah, oh, more American than that.
Speaker 5 (01:48:36):
Yeah, well what.
Speaker 4 (01:48:38):
People notice right away fifty? Oh is that the one
you on?
Speaker 5 (01:48:42):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (01:48:44):
Well, first the patriotic people noticed your American flag only
has thirty eight.
Speaker 3 (01:48:53):
What happened?
Speaker 6 (01:48:54):
Yeah, I guess AI didn't realize exactly how many stars.
Speaker 3 (01:48:57):
Doesn't know what the flag looks like.
Speaker 6 (01:49:00):
I guess I just thought stars and stripes. You can
put as many as you want.
Speaker 4 (01:49:04):
Or don't want on there.
Speaker 6 (01:49:05):
So, uh, thirty eight stars instead of the fifty stars
on the flag.
Speaker 4 (01:49:11):
But the big issue that the.
Speaker 6 (01:49:13):
Internet just could not handle, and basically they had to
pull the shirt from their website because of course it
has a big truck. It says Ram Power, but the
image of the truck wasn't actually a ram.
Speaker 4 (01:49:30):
It was a Toyota Tacoma.
Speaker 5 (01:49:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:49:38):
So don't know why we're not double check in what
AI's doing?
Speaker 8 (01:49:42):
Double check in?
Speaker 4 (01:49:43):
Nobody Nobody actually noticed.
Speaker 3 (01:49:45):
I'm looking at the shirt. Yeah, I wouldn't know that
that's a Tacoma or a RAM. It just looks like
a truck and it looks like they just used a truck.
But I guess if you are in the truck, business. Yeah,
if you know, you would know what's the difference.
Speaker 7 (01:49:57):
Yeah, I wouldn't know because also on the grilla the truck,
the AI truck, it says ram.
Speaker 4 (01:50:01):
Yeah, but but it's the shape of toy.
Speaker 3 (01:50:04):
But if you ask AI create a shape of a
truck and blah blah blah blah blah, they're just going
to use any truck.
Speaker 4 (01:50:09):
Yeah, I mean I.
Speaker 6 (01:50:10):
Would hope they'd put into AI a shirt with a
dodge Ram on it.
Speaker 4 (01:50:15):
Yeah, but I mean, I mean.
Speaker 3 (01:50:17):
They didn't know how to do the American flag.
Speaker 6 (01:50:20):
So yeah, so the went wild with it. It went
viral very quick, and as soon as the word got
back to dodge Ram they pulled it from the site and.
Speaker 1 (01:50:31):
They could get sued.
Speaker 4 (01:50:32):
Yeah, it's not even that cool of a design to say, yep,
let's go with that. Yeah, like yeah, yeah, so.
Speaker 6 (01:50:40):
And so again another lesson to people, don't just trust AI.
You may want to double check things a little.
Speaker 3 (01:50:48):
You don't check the flag.
Speaker 5 (01:50:52):
Of the ship.
Speaker 1 (01:50:53):
Yeah all right, Well, speaking.
Speaker 3 (01:50:56):
Of America to fifty oh no tomorrow, it is Sky's
Wheel of Food, the America Edition. I love this. This
is nothing better, nothing better, Thank you. Plus it is
a free comedy Friday with comedian Troy Bond in studio
(01:51:17):
all tomorrow. We'll see you.
Speaker 1 (01:51:18):
Then it's the show.
