Speaker 1 (00:09):
He won't Sky's is done.
Speaker 4 (00:12):
Well, I know there was new processing.
Speaker 1 (00:15):
Yeah, this is a nightmare.
Speaker 4 (00:17):
But they were saying it's like all linked, like are
we I'm yeah.
Speaker 1 (00:22):
This is gonna be crazy, really far away. I don't know.
Speaker 5 (00:25):
I want to check it checking it now. Oh this
is fortunately yeah.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
For her. Huh no, new hoodie. You think you're coming
home from Oregon new hoodie in the hopper. But isn't
it like first day of school when you come back?
You where they were right right away?
Speaker 4 (00:46):
Yeah, I was really tired.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
I'm disappointed to do lady yet.
Speaker 4 (00:51):
But you're going to get some strong lighthouses, some names
of town. So just oh god, my friend.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
Yes, we were gone all last week for our summer vacation.
Speaker 1 (01:04):
Well sort of gone. Emily didn't leave, didn't vacation, didn't
go anywhere.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
No, it didn't even really stay caation.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
It didn't do anything.
Speaker 6 (01:13):
Didn't do anything, literally did nothing. And normally I'd be
really anxious about that. And you guys know we've talked before.
We'll be like midweek and all of a sudden. You
guys will hear later on that I booked a hotel
stay somewhere by Bay or something. Didn't even do that
was just very continent, fine, nothing doing nothing. Yes, my
son went to a summer camp for the week that
(01:34):
we were gone, so I had the house to myself.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
Man, literally, it was that's a vacation from your life,
one hundred percent.
Speaker 6 (01:41):
Like my man, Robert worked and so I was like,
oh my god, this is this has never happened.
Speaker 3 (01:46):
Really, I don't think that my kid's been gone.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
To be alone.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
Take okay, wow, take me back.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
Yeah, we all did our separate things. Thor and I
both went to Florida. Yeah, not to no, not together
weirdly enough. Yeah, i'll here, we'll hear all about thora's
family vacation to the Florida Keys. Florida Keys coming up
in a little bit. I went to a different part
of Florida, Orlando, of course.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
Now, our whole trip was basically to go check out
this new epic universe Universal opened up. Yeah, so trip
started off a little rough. As you know, I like
to get to the airport a little early, and thank
god I do, because I do this just in case
you know, you never know whether whether it's something that
(02:37):
happens at the airport or anything could happen.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
It's my worst nightmare.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
Well, my worst nightmare basically came true as we were
headed out to the airport. So get the family altogether, everybody.
We were headed out even a little bit early, even
earlier than I expected.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
Yeah, what does that mean?
Speaker 4 (02:54):
How much before your flight? How did you leave?
Speaker 1 (02:57):
Oh? Man, it was so long ago.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
I'm trying to remember, right it was, I want to say,
maybe almost three hours three hours now. That being said,
that being said, I had several things I had to do.
I had to drop the dog off at the place
where she was staying. I had to do all these
(03:19):
different things. So there was things that I had to do.
I wasn't getting to the airport three hours early.
Speaker 4 (03:24):
But you if you didn't have to do those things,
it would be like two hours and forty five minutes.
So don't don't tap wow.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
Possibly, And so we're getting everybody together headed out about
fifteen minutes down the road. I don't know what made
her decide to check this, but Deborah reaches in her
purse and I see she's funely. She goes, oh, my God,
we have to go back. Why And I went, we
have to go back? What are you talking about? What'd
(03:50):
you forget?
Speaker 3 (03:51):
Like?
Speaker 1 (03:51):
What?
Speaker 2 (03:52):
That's immediately my like, what'd you forget? She goes, I
grabbed the wrong driver's license has multiple and I go,
what do you mean? I don't even I don't even
know what she's talking about. I had the same reaction,
what are you talking about?
Speaker 1 (04:06):
She goes.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
Out my purses, you know, to like a travel purse.
And when I did that, she I guess, for some
reason in her normal purse has both her regular license
and her expired license.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
Still have an expired license. Great question, thor, because usually.
Speaker 5 (04:26):
If I have an expired license, I have I keep
it because I want to see what.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
My pictures are. Keep it on a dwel or something
right like a safe keeping Most people do that.
Speaker 5 (04:37):
And then every few years I look at and go,
look at this, Yeah.
Speaker 4 (04:41):
And expired on her birthday in April that I'm not sure.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
I don't know which which one it was.
Speaker 4 (04:49):
On your birthday. So I mean she has that.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
From the eighties. She's she's a whacked up. And so
it's taking every to me to not be in race
because I'm I'm I'm in a great mood. I'm on vacation.
Speaker 1 (05:07):
I'm early.
Speaker 5 (05:08):
Anybody would be annoyed in this situation because you're stressed
out to the airport, you're starting vacation. All those feelings
you're having are also like you're also a little tense
because you just want to get there.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
I was feeling good, which is rare for me going
to the airport, because I'm exactly like you're saying, exactly,
but I was. I was early, So I was like, oh,
here we go, you know, I got going, and then
she's she drops I grabbed the wrong license, and I'm like,
all those questions are going through my head and I
just shut down. The whole body just shut down. I
(05:42):
get flip around, go all the way back to the
to the house to get her normal license. Oh my god.
So now I'm furious, but I'm like, all right, I
gotta let this go. I'm it's the beginning of the trip.
I gotta let this go, and I gotta get through all.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
This asking her all the questions like what I.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
Went dead, Well, I'm gonna be pissed, like nothing's gonna
She's gonna say, it's gonna make sense.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
Why she has that.
Speaker 5 (06:08):
Yeah, So anytime you're like anything happens from here on
out for the rest of the day, I would make
a comment license, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
I gotta I gotta get through the anger first to
be able to get through the jokes because they're coming.
Speaker 1 (06:24):
These aren't jokes.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
Yeah, So get there, get to the airport still plenty
of time. I'm so, I'm good, not a big deal whatever,
and get through security. Uh ts c T S a
pre check by the way, you know, thank you for
get right through, fly right through. Kids are right behind me.
I'm always first, Deborah's always last, as like our buffer
(06:49):
with their two kids, and so I don't know why
we always like that, but we're like that, and everything
we do, everything we do, we always like that. So
I get through security first, grab my stuff. Then comes
Jack and then comes Taylor, and I'm like, all right,
let's go to the gate. I am assuming Deborah's right behind,
and so we get all our stuff. We're heading halfway
(07:10):
down to our gate and I turn around just to
make sure everybody's there. Let's see Jack, see Taylor. Where's Deborah?
Where did she go?
Speaker 1 (07:25):
Did she go to the bathroom?
Speaker 2 (07:27):
Did she I'm looking did she get stopped because of
her dumb id.
Speaker 1 (07:30):
I don't I have no idea.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
So I go where his mom, Like what did did
she say she was going to the bathroom or something?
And they're like, no, we don't know where is she.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
I don't know. I've lost Deborah.
Speaker 2 (07:46):
Start I am now now, I just kind of calmed
down from the ID.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
I'm good. I'm good Now I can't find my wife.
Speaker 5 (07:57):
Do you so what I would do? This happens to
me all the time. Obviously, I had several thoughts of
you as everything Eddie says happens to me all the time.
So now when we go to the airport, me and
my wife Haley, I have the list and I have
her like I packed her passport, I make sure she
has her wallet because she hasn't a real idea yet obviously,
so I pack everything or her. And but what happens
(08:19):
with Haley though, is I'll call her and she want
to answer her phone. So I'm calling her over and
over and over again, and she's not answering her phone.
So now I know I don't know where she is
and I can't get a hold of it. It's a night, yeah,
But I deal with this all the time.
Speaker 2 (08:31):
I had several thoughts of you while I was going
through this, of like, how doestor do this? So we
turn around and head back, and I'm assuming she got
held up at security or like, what the heck is
going on? So I go back. Debra's not at security.
I'm like, what in the hell is going on? So
we went left to go to our gate. I'm looking around,
(08:55):
looking around, and then all of a sudden, walking back
from the light side where the other gates are, comes
Deborah and I'm like, what are you doing? She went
the wrong way? Say, we're Gate thirty four. She went
the complete opposite direction.
Speaker 4 (09:16):
Following the pack.
Speaker 2 (09:18):
I have no idea, Oh no, And I at that
point realized, oh my god, I now travel with three children,
like where I have to keep my eyes on not
only my two kids, but now I have to keep
an eye on Deborah, which I had several thoughts of
Emily as well.
Speaker 4 (09:36):
Those little backpacks that look like monkeys.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
I could do that. I guess. I guess I'm gonna
need to. And I'm like, what you knew it was
Kate thirty four?
Speaker 1 (09:45):
What happened?
Speaker 2 (09:46):
And she goes, I don't know, I just went in
that direction, not Disney High. But where have you got
there yet? Yeah, you're head in the clouds where you
left up yet. I couldn't believe it. So I'm like,
this is this is the it is going to start.
Start handle this. So luckily that was it got everybody together. No,
(10:07):
I mean pretty much kind of like wrangling cats. Get
to the gate, you know, and whatever. I'm like, I
just sit here, don't move, God, And.
Speaker 3 (10:15):
So settle at the gate and say don't move.
Speaker 1 (10:21):
My watch. All that stuff was happening.
Speaker 2 (10:25):
So we fly to Orlando, Get to Orlando, go to
the So it's a it's a new hotel and it's
this new epic universe. And this hotel is basically attached
to the park. And so literally, like here in California,
if you ever stayed at the Grand California, you can
walk directly into the park. That's how this park is.
(10:49):
So you literally we stayed at this new hotel and
you literally walk outside the front door or the back
door or whatever, and you walk into the park and
you're there. And so because you at that hotel to
you also got early entry. And so we were like
literally the first four people in line ready to go
oh yeah, we're rope droppers.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
Sky.
Speaker 5 (11:14):
My sister and my brother in law are like this
and I go, yeah, eddies a rope dropper and they go,
oh yeah, you have to be.
Speaker 1 (11:22):
You have to be. Okay, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (11:29):
So if you if you stay usually at one of
the resort hotels, you get early entry and that's the
way you could ride the biggest rides, no lines, walk
right on, and so that's kind of what happened here
with this epic universe. There's four new lands basically like
a month and a half or something like that, not
(11:51):
very long at all, and so they have a new
Harry Potter Land. They have an old school Hollywood Momunsters
area which is like Frankenstein, Dracula, the Mummy, the Werewolf,
like those kind of guys. I thought it was going
to be lame, but it actually turned out to be
one of my favorite parts. Yes, they have their Super
(12:14):
Nintendo World, and then they have it's basically what they
have here, the Super Nintendo World here, but bigger. So
they have newer rides and things like that, and it's
just bigger, bigger. And then they have How to Train
Your Dragon, which is the other fourth land, and they
all have their own separate rides, their own separate restaurants,
(12:36):
their own separate things. Now, it sounds like a lot,
but it's condensed, so it's not giant, you know, like
like you would think of like the Disney parks. You know,
they're they're all pretty duable. No, it's not like that.
They're all pretty doable.
Speaker 1 (12:52):
You know.
Speaker 2 (12:52):
There's only like one or two rides in each area,
so it's it's pretty doable in a day. It's not
that bad. And so we we did them all. We
did all the different stuff and it was great. Honestly,
my favorite ride was in that old school Monsters area. Really, yeah,
they had a great ride. It's they have these rides
(13:13):
where you basically kind of sit in a chair and
the chair kind of moves you throughout the whole ride.
And you see they have it's like a combination of
animatronics and like screens so it looks like you're like
flying through the areas and things like that. They're crazy.
There's like all kinds of crazy rides like that now,
(13:34):
and so those are cool. I did go on the
biggest roller coaster I've ever been on, which I was
a little worried about because I'm pretty good at roller coasters,
not like crazy ones mountain style, some of those I
don't like. You know, if they're too big, then I'm like,
I'm good on that, yeah, whatever, But this one I
was like, I kind of got tricked into doing it
(13:54):
because I was like, there there, it's called I forget
what it's called, like star dust or something like that,
and they're dueling roller coasters where they go at the
same time and whatever. And I guess one is if
you get on one side it's higher and you go
on the other side, there's more like twists to it.
And we went on the higher one and I was like, oh,
this doesn't look that bad. Oh my god. It was
(14:16):
the highest drop I've ever been on in my life.
It was wild and I was like, all right, well,
I'm good on that. I'll never do that again, but
still cool. Still cool. So got through all that. That
was fun. The next day we went to the regular
Universal Parks, which Thor has been to, and those are
we have these things down now too. I've counted it out.
You want to know how many times we've been to
(14:37):
Orlando and since my kids were born, nine times. Oh wow,
we've been nine times, and we usually hit up both parks.
We you know, do Universal and Disney World, and so
we have Universal down. We know whate we're doing on that.
So we did all the rides there. I gulfed for
the first time with my daughter in Florida. I wish
(14:59):
I could say it was cool. It was not cool.
I had one of the worst rounds I've had in years.
I don't know what. I could not hit the ball.
I know, you quit, and I mean I have a
decent golfer. I'm not great by any means, but I
could not do anything. And my daughter, who is still beginner,
you know, she's still but she's on the high school
(15:20):
golf team, so and she plays a lot. She had
a rough round too. So it was kind of miserable.
And the weather was hot.
Speaker 1 (15:27):
Oh it was hot.
Speaker 2 (15:28):
Never again am I going to Florida in the summertime
because it's hot and humid and it's just gross. Reason
every day, yes, wild thunderstorms, lightning. I mean, you know,
there's nothing you could do. It's just crazy. So by
the time we were done golfing, I mean I was
like soaking wet.
Speaker 6 (15:49):
You're not getting I'm not going out there and doing
my hair and having it stay and look.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
Oh god, no, no, yeah, it was brutal.
Speaker 2 (15:57):
And then the next rest of the trip was all
Disney World parks and I ended up getting kind of sick.
I don't even know what I have.
Speaker 1 (16:05):
I had. I had fatigue. Yeah, I'm pretty sure. I'm
pretty sure I got it from.
Speaker 5 (16:11):
Doesn't pressure, but still it was Emily, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (16:24):
But yeah, we had a great time, great time in Orlando,
did all kinds of crazy stuff. Crazy, crazy flight home
to a dog pooped on the plane, there was a
medical emergency on the flight.
Speaker 1 (16:36):
It was.
Speaker 2 (16:36):
It was one of the wilder flights I ever had
coming home. But back home, happy to be back. All
that stuff, Yes,
