I started thinking about like growing up. My dad always

I was a month old and he was holding me,
and he always has a story that I started crying

on with him while he was sleeping, and I'm going

a big UFC guy. It was the biggest celebration of

they had these incredible vignettes of like our history because
it was a celebration of two fifty. You know, it
wasn't just the UFC fights. It was it was insane
that they did these crazy flyovers they had. I mean,
it was like one of the coolest things I've ever witnessed.

kind of pride in our country you had. I mean,
it was giving me chills, like seeing like you know,
they literally show like you know, from from two hundred
and fifty years ago and how we you know, fought
to now. And it was like unol like the vignettes

like all of them, all of them like shook their
hands and were super respectful and like it was crazy.
It was the craziest thing I've ever seen in my life.

realize it was going to be such a long walk,
so you could just see all the hallways. It was

had the President's band there doing live walkouts like whatever

I don't know the championship, I was pretty.

Excited jumping, he's screaming.

It was it was it was just it's a spin
move you did. It's just a surreal moment.
Speaker 4 (05:53):
Like like people were like, is this like if the
Potters with a world serious? And I said no, I'd
say it's more like the Cubs were in this world
series because because they've just been so long, they're a
ton of bad luck. Like it's just like and just
terribly run for years, and it's just surreal.
Speaker 5 (06:11):
I couldn't believe it. I couldn't believe the Knicks one
a championship.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
I understood your reaction because your baby.
Speaker 4 (06:17):
Was asleep and my wife so so I mean, what's hits?
The second free throw which gives a four point lead.
So now the games the game's pretty much over with
three seconds left, you just got to run out the clock.
So my wife looks at me as the spurs around
a time out and goes, remember we have a sleeping baby.
Speaker 5 (06:34):
Remember we have it over and over again.
Speaker 2 (06:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (06:38):
So I'm jumping up and down. I hug her, I
call my dad. I'm like, just I can't believe it.
Like and also, no, I haven't seen any of my
teams win a title. And I know this sounds like
a douchey statement because Saton Potters fans have never seen
a team win a title. And I don't mean that,
but I'm just saying, you know, and in fifteen years,
it's been a long time since it's and I up
(07:00):
watching my team's win titles, so like it's crazy, and uh,
and I there may have been tears, oh, like tears,
actual cry tears at what point, like when you're on
the with their dads, like crying.
Speaker 5 (07:13):
I can't believe.
Speaker 4 (07:15):
I was a really big Knick fan in the nineties
and early two thousands and and mid two thousands, and
then kind of stopped because they were so bad. And
I started thinking about like growing up. My dad always
tells me about the eighty six Super Bowl and the
ninety Super Bowl. I was in the eighty six super Bowl.
I was a month old and he was holding me,
and he always has a story that I started crying
and he's like.
Speaker 5 (07:34):
Tells, my mom, cat take them my mom.
Speaker 4 (07:37):
And then and so I, you know, I don't remember
that obviously, So like the fact that, like it was
just thinking about my son and thinking about the fact
that I get to tell my son the rest of
his life. He got to watch it with me, and
like he was there and I got to tell him
the story of it. It made me start to cry.
And then I took a picture with my Knick shirt
on with him while he was sleeping, and I'm going
(07:58):
to frame it and give it to him day that
he got to see his first Knicks title.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
What what if all of a sudden goes you know what, Dad,
I think I'm gonna be a Celtics fan everyone everything.
Speaker 5 (08:10):
I mean, that's not gonna happen. He has no choice
in that.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
If I'm going to say, you know, if the padres
ever won the World Series, what do you expect out
of my girl here?
Speaker 3 (08:20):
I mean I would assume you think you hear tears.
She knew.
Speaker 4 (08:28):
It would be thing ever, but I would be I
get it.
Speaker 3 (08:32):
Yeah, I mean it would be the emotional wreck.
Speaker 5 (08:35):
Oh yeah, I mean the Giants.
Speaker 4 (08:38):
I've been lucky enough to see the Giants win to
super Bowls and they've been a laughing stock for the
last decade, if to the point where they're eliminated from
the season in October, which sucks. So if they ever
won a Super Bowl again, I would cry. I appreciate
it more now than ever. So I can't imagine if
my team had never seen my team, I can't. I
can't imagine still waiting special day Fer's Cross.
Speaker 5 (09:00):
So that one.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
I was a walker wheeler.
Speaker 5 (09:04):
Who knows if you can do it. So I immediately
ordered NBA Championship stuff.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
Here we go, you're the guy that does that.
Speaker 5 (09:13):
That's that's what the fans get.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
Well, you see the ring, you see you know they
immediately after they win whatever, they show that commercial and
I'm like, wow, who's ever going to really just go that?
Speaker 4 (09:25):
So you don't even know when the when they still
do an old school on Long Island. My mom was
sending me videos of the lines around the store at
Dick's Sporting Goods at one am. People go right to
dick Sporting Goods at one am and the line was
wrapped around already ready to go, because I have them
ready to go.
Speaker 3 (09:42):
Did they know there's the internet but you can.
Speaker 5 (09:45):
Get them, but you were the first to wait. My
stuff doesn't come till the twenty a loser, no one's
gonna care. But then no one's gonna care.
Speaker 3 (09:53):
We've moved on. Well that's incredible. Yeah, that's cool.
Speaker 1 (09:58):
And just seeing seeing what you know, they turned into,
it was crazy.
Speaker 4 (10:03):
I was seeing the West Village video of everybody going
crazy and then like people in the streets like just
acting and unified all of New York and New York,
New York, New York and stuff like that, which is
really cool. And just like there's this little person that
stands on out f Wimby and.
Speaker 5 (10:19):
Everybody goes crazy, like dude, it's crazy. The videos are
so crazy.
Speaker 1 (10:25):
Yeah, I I witnessed something pretty wild yesterday. I'm sure
a lot of people did. If you watched the UFC
at the White House Lawn last night.
Speaker 4 (10:35):
Oh paramount plus So I didn't get to watch it.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
It was in all honesty, one of the craziest things
I've ever seen over.
Speaker 5 (10:44):
Really, without a doubt, good in a good way.
Speaker 1 (10:46):
Politics aside, it was one of the coolest things I've
ever seen. It's like surreal what I witnessed. It was
like seeing it, right, you don't understand like I've I thought,
you know, I saw the images of how it was
going to look and everything, and they added outdoor fighting event,
it's gonna be cool.
Speaker 3 (11:05):
But we've seen WrestleMania's at big stadiums and things like that,
and you.
Speaker 1 (11:08):
Know those are cool. Yeah, you know, I mean it
looks awesome or whatever. It was nothing like this. Literally
the backdrop is the White House, and you're like, man,
that's crazy. Well, what I didn't really expect was the
fighters walked out from.
Speaker 3 (11:24):
The White House from different rooms in the White.
Speaker 5 (11:27):
House, like the Lincoln Room.
Speaker 1 (11:29):
I'm not joking. Literally the Oval Office. The main eventers came.
They were in the Oval Office.
Speaker 5 (11:35):
I don't know. I don't know what I think about that.
Speaker 3 (11:37):
It was insane.
Speaker 5 (11:38):
It's insane, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (11:40):
But one of them was staring at the Declaration of
Independence and then walked out and then went through the
Hall of the Presidents and then out to the front
and then you know, he's right there on the balcony
and then they walked down.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
No, I didn't know the fighters did because I saw
only the clip I saw was Dana White and President
walking out.
Speaker 3 (11:57):
Yeah, they started the event like that.
Speaker 4 (12:00):
I understand that that's really cool, but also it's like crazy.
Speaker 3 (12:04):
It's like watching a movie right now, I thought it was.
Speaker 1 (12:08):
I cannot have any wow, any sort of bad thing
to say about it, because if you didn't watch it,
you don't understand like how amazing it was. I get
it's a little crazy that somebody was doing it from
the White House, but it was it was like nothing
you'll ever see, insane, and I don't care. Like I'm
a big UFC guy. It was the biggest celebration of
(12:32):
America that I've ever seen, so like, in between the fights,
they had these incredible vignettes of like our history because
it was a celebration of two fifty. You know, it
wasn't just the UFC fights. It was it was insane
that they did these crazy flyovers they had. I mean,
it was like one of the coolest things I've ever witnessed.
(12:52):
If you're I mean, if you're American and have any
kind of pride in our country you had. I mean,
it was giving me chills, like seeing like you know,
they literally show like you know, from from two hundred
and fifty years ago and how we you know, fought
to now. And it was like unol like the vignettes
were because some of them were like actors and some
of them were kind of ai.
Speaker 3 (13:12):
But they were incredible. They were.
Speaker 1 (13:14):
It was so well done. It was so well done.
I have nothing critical to say about it, not one
thing because of how well done it was. And so
every fighter got to walk out with somebody who won
a Medal of honor and a first responder, so they
were they honored those guys too, and so and and
(13:35):
all of them loved it, like even if you weren't
even like there was some Brazilians that fought some people,
like all of them, all of them like shook their
hands and were super respectful and like it was crazy.
It was the craziest thing I've ever seen in my life.
Because I was just sitting there going like what the
hell am I watching here? Yeah, because I mean I'm like,
(13:56):
you know, when they were walking through they were literally
walking through the White House watching a clip I didn't
realize it was going to be such a long walk,
so you could just see all the hallways. It was
unbelievable because I thought I thought they would have like
little setups on the side, but not allowed. So they
also had so apparently every the president has his own band.
Every president has like it's called the President's band or
(14:17):
something like that. No, their own actual life band, you know,
and they perform at different things or whatever. So they
had the President's band there doing live walkouts like whatever
their song was, and it was like their version of
like whatever their walkout was, that's insane and and so
and they're they're singing, they're doing I mean, it was crazy, guys.
(14:40):
I'm telling you, it was like the biggest spectacle I've
ever seen in my life, and it was it was
I still can't believe what I saw.
Speaker 3 (14:49):
And it was crazy how many start to finish?
Speaker 5 (14:52):
Was there a ton of celebrities there?
Speaker 3 (14:53):
Yeah, you know, they didn't they didn't go overboard with
the Roman reigns. Were there there?
Speaker 1 (15:00):
Probably so angry that, like the wwe didn't do this
because I mean it would have been even bigger probably,
but I mean it was. It was unbelievable. Just the
the patriotic spectacle that it was. But it was incredible.
It was incredible, one of the coolest things I've ever seen.
There was not one decision. Well, everybody was so hyped,
(15:22):
you know, and so every fight was a finish and
most of them were first rounds and so and then
the main event was just a barn burner, like every
guy wanted to win, you know, because you come out
with something like that, you don't want to put on
a boring fight.
Speaker 3 (15:34):
And so it was. It was a madhouse. It was
a madhouse.
Speaker 1 (15:37):
And then the president and first lady you're sitting literally
cage side. It was just and you would see like,
is that Marco Rubio in the audience, and yeah, that's him,
And you know, it was just bananas.
Speaker 3 (15:49):
It was bananas.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
I'm telling you, if you can go back and watch it,
if you can get paramount plus, it's worth watching just
for the spectacle because it was the most insane thing
I've ever watched in my life.
Speaker 3 (16:00):
But pretty cool. Wow, yeah, pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
And then so they had you know, probably I don't
know what the attendance was because they built you know,
like a stands and stuff. But then there was a
there's a park that I guess is like next door.
There was like a watch party that they had giant
screens on. There had to have been one hundred thousand
people there. Really, Yeah, you got to see video of
that because it looked like like the NFL Draft, you
know how the NFL Draft. It looked like that, And
(16:25):
just to watch the fights outside Idea.
Speaker 3 (16:27):
It was insane. I'm telling you, it was the most
insane thing I've ever seen in my life. But it
made me proud to be American. Thank you very much.
