Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, guys, it is that time of year again. This
is our final season of baseball for me. Yeah, I know,
tenth and final year together me and my son. Crazy
t ball on. I've been coaching my son and so
our final season before I send him off to high school. Wow, begone,
(00:21):
young man, begone and fly away.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
And so they don't play outside of high school. It's like,
once you get that age, you just play high school.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
There's like a senior division that you can play. But
but I'm not.
Speaker 3 (00:34):
I'm out your time.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
I may There is a lot there's been a lot
of talk about me sticking around and continue coaching. We'll see.
I don't know, kid, Yeah, it's I've seen people do
it all the time.
Speaker 4 (00:47):
No, I know, my dad did it for a bazillion years,
stopped playing softball.
Speaker 3 (00:50):
Oh it was billion games.
Speaker 4 (00:52):
The man, it's all right.
Speaker 1 (00:55):
So when the baseball season kicks up, there is one
particular thing that does happen. We may or may not
have to ask our friends and families for donations. We
ain't done yet. It's time for the one podcast Find.
Speaker 3 (01:15):
A year completely uncensored and uncting, filtered except for that part.
Speaker 5 (01:21):
The party. The show's after show starts now.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
Oh yes, if you have a kid in baseball, or
if you even know a kid that plays baseball, you
know how this goes. You gotta do some fundraising and
it's for the league, you know, you gotta do this.
And this is how they get their money to afford
jerseys and maintenance and whatever it is. You know they're
gonna do.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
Not the registration, no, no, no, well that's part of it.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
So yeah, fundraising is part of it. It's kind of
like being in Girl Scouts and something like that. You know,
you gotta do some fundraising. And so every year, you know,
we got to hit up all of our usual family
members and things like that. Well, I think it was
just last year that we were we were in the
mix and doing really well fundraising, me and my son
and I went, you know what, we got a shot
(02:08):
at being like the top fundraising people. And so I
was like, you know what I'm gonna do here. I
think I'm gonna ask my friends here on the show,
like if they you don't have to, but I'm gonna
throw it out there. And I kind of mentioned it
to Sky and Sky was like, yeah, why didn't you
ever asked me before? And I'm like, oh, well, I
just I don't know. I don't want to bother you.
And didn't you know think it was that big of
(02:30):
a deal.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
Yeah, because when our girls were younger, we would kind
of swamp back and forth like Okay, I'm donating to you,
you donate to me. But then you kind of fell
off and weren't asking me about jack stuff anymore.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
And I'm like, it's just weird. But then you said, yeah,
I absolutely donated, Like oh yeah, well for doing that.
I'm just gonna throw it out there at anybody. Anybody
wants to donate, you can donate. Well you about that?
Speaker 3 (02:49):
Wo exclude anyone?
Speaker 1 (02:51):
Absolutely rude. Now I got a little pushback on both sides,
or it's just because he's thor you know, he doesn't
want to do me, well you don't want to, you know,
you know, like giving away your money. And then Emily
gave me a little bit of pushback because she was
in baseball and never asked me for donations for her
fundraising stuff. And I don't know why, I know, because
(03:13):
I mean I absolutely would have donated, especially me being
in baseball for as long as I have, I understand
the process, and I totally would have donated. Why why
did you never ask us for donations?
Speaker 4 (03:23):
I feel really uncomfortable asking people for donations.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
Mom, I my mom all day.
Speaker 5 (03:32):
That's crazy because your sister has no problemsking for donations.
I know on Facebook donations, I know how many donations.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
So not every time.
Speaker 4 (03:46):
She's putting that ship out there, left and right out.
The other day I made of money.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
Not the best.
Speaker 4 (03:55):
I mean, I do money for her, thank you very much.
She calls me Auntie by the way, whatever, not yet
care excuse me. I always just felt weird about it,
especially with you guys. I don't send things to any
of my friends, like not ever. Like much of my
friends have kids of their own, so it's like I
feel like, also I start sending ship to them, then
they start sending ship.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (04:16):
Robert's boss, who's one of his best friends, told us this.
I remember this one read was still really little, and
he said, here's a tip, don't ever send other people
fundraising ship for your kids, because then you'll never get
that ship back. Next to God, that's probably got in
my head. So I was like, that's actually a pretty
solid wow. So I just said it to a couple
of people in my family. Yeah, but I never wanted to.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
And your mom's a billionaire.
Speaker 6 (04:34):
I guess your mom don'tates one thousand dollars to.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
You read one again.
Speaker 3 (04:46):
That's amazing.
Speaker 4 (04:47):
Ye.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
So this is the time of year when the seasons
but I can't believe the scene is about to start.
So my life is going to be over until July.
But this is the way it goes, and you know,
I love it.
Speaker 5 (04:57):
At least you take a break, man.
Speaker 6 (04:58):
I got a couple of people that, like I see
their Instagram all the time that they just haven't stopped.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
Yeah. If you play travel and stuff like that, you
need a break. Yeah, kids need a break. I had
a month, I mean basically a month and a half
off and that was it, you know, from fall.
Speaker 5 (05:13):
I just remember growing up, we would play every season
with a new sport. Yeah you do like football and best.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
You know, but here, well not stop. It's because of
the weather. You can play all year. You couldn't do that,
you know. So it's a little different. But it's it's
about to kick in, it's about to start up, and
so we are about to have our giant fundraisers that
we do. And so because of what happened, last year,
I said, all right, well, I'm just gonna again throw
(05:42):
it out there with the disclaimer it's up to you.
I'm not saying you have to. I'm not I don't
want to put any pressure on it, but it is.
You know, if you feel like donating to this by
all means please, you know, I would accept it and
the but you're not going to say no, I wouldn't
turn it down. I'm not going to turn it down.
(06:04):
And of course my generous friend Sky immediately jumped in there.
She donated, and then that was immediately followed by my
other friend Emily, which wait for surprised, and I was
sitting here waiting. A couple of days went by.
Speaker 5 (06:24):
Yes, when did you send it?
Speaker 1 (06:26):
H I sent it on like a Thursday, and it
wasn't until over the weekend when I saw something I
did Monday. Oh okay, So it was it was like
the three day I.
Speaker 5 (06:36):
Think I was going to do it.
Speaker 6 (06:38):
I was right when he said, yeah, watch, I was
going to do it on the day you sent it,
but I was right in the middle of something actually,
and then I forgot and then I came to work
on Monday, and so you email.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
Monday was a holiday would come today, so Tuesday, and
I said, oh, Ship deadline was happening almost it was.
It was up to him. You didn't have to.
Speaker 6 (07:10):
It wasn't like something I thought about. I just forgot
because I didn't check my work email.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
You did, You did ask Sky, how much are you donating?
Speaker 5 (07:19):
Because whatever Sky always over donates.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
She's just generous.
Speaker 6 (07:24):
But whatever, So whatever Sky does, I'll do half of
Half of the Sky is a good donation.
Speaker 1 (07:31):
Well, it's a normal donation.
Speaker 5 (07:33):
Sky does too much, So half a Sky.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
Again. You invite Sky over to your house, She's going
to bring an expensive bottle of wine and whatever.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
Eighty dollars bottle a little much and plant basil Sky.
Speaker 6 (07:47):
So if Sky says, you know, fifty bucks, then I'll say,
all right, then.
Speaker 1 (07:51):
Well what's half twenty five? Okay, So let's let's break
this down.
Speaker 3 (07:57):
Let's break this We break it down, talk about it.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
Who donated?
Speaker 6 (08:00):
What?
Speaker 1 (08:01):
Okay, if you don't mind me, if you don't mind
me asking. But again, I'm just so thrilled that anybody
would choose to donate, and so anything, I'll take any dollar.
Oh God, but no, I would not at all, Jack,
not at all. What I don't have your number. You
want to know that seems excreme from Jack. Okay, so
(08:28):
of course you know we'll start with the miss miss
generous here.
Speaker 5 (08:32):
Guys generous pretty much what.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
Sky donated fifty bucks, which unbelievable, great donation. Yeah, top
to the top.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
I used to be in the twenty five dollar range,
but that's when I had more kids in my life
and I was donating like a bunch of different things.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
But now I thought you could say that I could
only do that much when I had a lottery scratcher channel.
I couldn't afford to donate as.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
Much broken thousands a week on tickets that could have
been it too. So so yeah, there were a lot
of kids in my life, so it's donating to a
lot of different things. But now there's not as many
young ones, and so when I do get a request,
it is a bit more. And so now like fifty
is my donation to my friends things?
Speaker 1 (09:17):
Yeah, if they ask you, all they know. Now this
is a nice weld.
Speaker 2 (09:23):
Again, Luckily most of them are old enough they're not
doing fundraiser things anymore.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
But I'm just gonna make up fundraisers to get you donated. Yeah, great, Yes, Okay,
that's where I went. Uh. Then next down on the ladder,
we have my friend Emily.
Speaker 3 (09:38):
Thank you again, a little bit of a.
Speaker 1 (09:40):
Surprise again because she never asked me, which that was
a mistake. I wasn't you. You You know, big Daddy
over here would have taken good carry you.
Speaker 3 (09:49):
I know you would have, and then Sky would have.
Speaker 1 (09:51):
Yeah, yeah, both of us. You blew it. Fu Soon
donated thirty dollars.
Speaker 4 (10:04):
More than half Sky donated.
Speaker 3 (10:07):
Very nice, Yeah, thank you.
Speaker 1 (10:08):
I was impressed. I lay this chick is a good cause, man.
You know what a good cause im. He used to
be in the league and he's supporting the league.
Speaker 4 (10:15):
And you did hype me up a little bit because
I know that whoever fund raises the most gets to
choose a unicorm.
Speaker 1 (10:20):
Yeah yeah, the team who raises the most gets their
first picking uniforms and the pers and the kid that
is the biggest donator gets a brand new bat.
Speaker 3 (10:28):
Oh I don't know that.
Speaker 4 (10:29):
Yeah, it's a competitive spin on it than I'm even
in more.
Speaker 1 (10:32):
Yeah, which I appreciate. So rounding out the donations.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
Five days later, which again five days later, I can't
tell you how much I appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
That He even even considered donating every dollar counts he
donated dollars.
Speaker 5 (10:47):
Oh, I think that's.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
Did you think it was a matching hour or like.
Speaker 1 (10:55):
He said, I'll do half of whatever Sky donating. Sky
donated fifty. Yeah, half the fifty is twenty five dollars.
Speaker 5 (11:02):
I did. I thought the options were fifty forty.
Speaker 1 (11:06):
You could put another there's another.
Speaker 3 (11:08):
There wasn't a fifty option.
Speaker 1 (11:12):
It's fun. No, it's fine, it's fine.
Speaker 5 (11:14):
Yeah, I think twenty. I did twenty.
Speaker 1 (11:17):
If I tell you what if he Jack loses by five.
Speaker 6 (11:21):
Okay, listen, I did twenty. Yeah, but there was a
time I wouldn't do any that's true. Second, that's also
I've donated hundreds of dollars for girls.
Speaker 1 (11:30):
A whole lot of it was one thousand. By the way,
that's so not true. You would buy a box, well, am,
I years and years, and I feel.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
Like when you buy girls scalt cookies, Yes you're supporting,
but you can't say it's a donation.
Speaker 3 (11:43):
You're buying fucking cookies.
Speaker 5 (11:44):
You get something, but you know, I'm always watching my figure.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
Okay, not that day. There was there was a time
I took advantage of fat Thorpe that sales.
Speaker 5 (11:56):
Yeah, I did twenty bucks. Great, okay, and and maybe
in the future it will be more.
Speaker 3 (12:03):
Wait what what we're done?
Speaker 1 (12:04):
This is our last year, this last that was your
last chance.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (12:08):
I just would like to point out that somebody has
a son now two months and at some point, Wow,
I'm assuming, yeah, this kid is probably going to play sports.
I'm assuming dad's going to force him to play some sports.
Speaker 3 (12:22):
Earlier talking about D one scholars.
Speaker 1 (12:25):
So you're going to be involved in all of this.
Speaker 6 (12:29):
Oh yeah, I'm not like Emily where I won't.
Speaker 5 (12:33):
I'm going to hit up every.
Speaker 3 (12:35):
We know that, and it doesn't no question.
Speaker 5 (12:38):
So I expect. I expect a massive donate.
Speaker 3 (12:42):
Fifty that's it. That's that's more than.
Speaker 5 (12:49):
Double what you did.
Speaker 6 (12:50):
I mean, well, I feel like I bought at least
fifty dollars cookies.
Speaker 1 (12:55):
No, that's not true.
Speaker 3 (12:56):
A box, a box every year and you got the
cookies is the thing.
Speaker 6 (13:00):
So at least one hundred dollars from Scott what at
this By the time my kids in school, Emily is
gonna be just her and Roberts, So she's gonna have
tons of money.
Speaker 3 (13:09):
It's money.
Speaker 6 (13:11):
I really don't think that same thing the same thing
with any By the time my son is playing, you're
both your kids will be out, maybe in college, out
of college, so you guys will have money to.
Speaker 3 (13:20):
Spare paying for college. You have money to.
Speaker 4 (13:23):
Spare actually out of college.
Speaker 1 (13:27):
Yeah, but I'm gonna remember this. What is that I'm
going to remember? Remember that you're good friend. Forward donating
which is great, so I will donate as well. Twenty
dollars
