Speaker 1 (00:01):
So earlier in the show, talked about Emily's dad's memorial
softball game that they held over the weekend. UH annual.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
I think we're going to do an annually.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
That would be great.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
I think we are.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
Maybe Sky will show up this time. But whatever, I.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
Did get a trophy at the end, mister trophy. My
sister forgot to do the trophy presentation. I didn't want
to know about the trophy, but I got the trophy
after everybody else had left. Yeah, it is lame, but
it was a trophy she had made that says Dan,
the Man Memorial Classic winner because our team won, I.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
Get to hold you are the I am so not
the m v P of the game I thought. I mean,
I mean almost went yard. I mean, you're gonna have
a trophy. I would I would put it on my
mental don't wait in your So a lot of stuff

(01:05):
went down in this crazy game that we held, so
much so that I was actually assaulted at the game.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
We ain't done yet.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
It's time for the one podcast a year, completely uncensored
and uncting, filtered except for that part the show's after
show starts. Now. Yeah, there definitely was some confusion on
the level of competitiveness that this game was supposed to be.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
I wasn't.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
No, definitely not. You guys got we understood right that
this was just the thing.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
I was crushing Italian on the field.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
You were with with a medello, with a medelo. She
at one point took it out on the field.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
How I saw our son walk over drink the medello.
That didn't happen.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
I think it did. But anyway, so there was definitely
different levels of you know, okay, we all get it. No,
some people don't get it. Some people are taking this
very seriously, you know, their time to shine again. I
don't know. So it was it was quite a scene
out there. And so if you missed earlier, we talked
about this tournament or not tournament, but game that we

(02:21):
played in honor of Emily's dad. So it was a
lot of friends and family and then it was some
of his former players showed up that he coached back
in the day. It was great. It was honestly a
really beautiful It was great. And then there was a
lot of little ones. They had a lot of little
ones who play softball. Emily's sister is coach an she

(02:43):
coaches you know, little little ones playing softball. Yeah, her daughters,
you know what, six or seven six seven.

Speaker 3 (02:49):
The past two years she's coached, and she picks a
lot of the same girls on the team, so they're
all super close friends.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
Yeah, so they were in it. They were playing too
super cute and whatever. Well, the teams were like wildly imbalanced,
so Emily decided to load up with her squad and
she got all the best players and then Anne had
like all the little ones because they all wanted to
be with her, which makes sense. So I mean it

(03:14):
was not fair at all, but again, whatever, no big deal.
I think most of us got that. But what we
were mentioning earlier that Emily's niece is a legit softball player.
Like she is on the high school varsity team. And
when she was warming up, she was breaking my hand.
I was, you know, catching her.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
At first and got an arm owner.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
Dude, she's incredible, really.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
Really good where she gets it from.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
And so you know, she she was on my team,
which I was like, oh, okay, well we're gonna win
no matter what. So she's incredible.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
Before I even realized my niece Maddie was on the team.
Eddie goes, we got it and Eddie's pointing to it.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
Don't matter what happens, I think we're gonna be okay, yeah,
you know. So so the team, you know, was talking
right before and we say all right, well, anybody want
to play a certain position or whatever, and then say
well we need somebody to pitch. Yes, I'll do it.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
I don't know, I'm not doing it.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
Yeah, Emily immediately doesn't. Emily doesn't. I want that.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
Pressure marketed fucking right field with a medello.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
Right field.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
I thought it was inappropriate, but whatever.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
Yeah, you know, my dad would have wanted it that way.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
Okay, that's show. One of the little girls give me
a drink? Yeah, oh wow, now did you.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
Did you guys have any kids on your team? Like
what was the youngest one?

Speaker 1 (04:37):
Little one? With two younger little boys.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
Oh the boys, yeah, but those yeah, they're a.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
Little bit older. And then we had one little girl,
little girl, you little girl.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
And then the other team is like mainly little yeah, okay.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
I would say probably like at least nine of them, right,
lot okay, And so you know, when the first inning
comes up, obviously our team is killing it. We scored
like twenty runs and and it was like stupid. And
so then they get up and I'm pitching, and so,
you know, it was really tough to try and you know,
let these little ones hit it. Thor was screaming at

(05:10):
me in the outfield, you know, like like this is uncomfortable,
and I'm like, you're making this so much worse and whatever.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
I was holding my son and I was like, this
is what not to do.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
Okay, oh Wally, oh Dad, that did that help you
do better?

Speaker 1 (05:24):
No? Oh it didn't. Okay, So after the first inning,
I'm done. I don't want to pitch anymore. I was like,
somebody else pitch, Like there's too much pressure for this.
I don't know how to pitch to these littles, like
it's not cool. And so our lead at that point
was stupid and the game was, like I said, so
imbalanced that I'm like, okay, well, any ball that's going
to get hit to me, because I played first base
at that point, I'm just gonna let the little ones

(05:46):
run around and you know, like let's like make this fun.
And I think everybody sort of understood that. So the
first ball that gets hit to me, which you know,
was it happened like quite a bit. So ball gets
hit to me, I do the thing where I pretend
like I'm gonna try and tag the little one and
she's too fast for me, and.

Speaker 3 (06:04):
I can, of course the act.

Speaker 1 (06:08):
And he's like, oh, they loved it. All those girls
love it. They had the biggest smiles on their faces.
They thought they were They thought, oh man, well, after
I do that for the first time, all of a sudden,
I hear come on why and I look around. I'm like,
what the hell is that? And it was Emily's niece.

(06:30):
She has around, she said, And I'm like, oh my god.
She she's a little one. This is in the College
World series and she plays you can make exact play,
and I know I can, but I mean it's a
little oh my god. So then second time gets hit
to me, I do the pretend like I do it

(06:51):
the ball stopping play again. Everybody knows what's going on here.
But I get screamed at again. She wants the ball
at second yeah, and I'm like, I'm so, I'm kind

(07:12):
of the only one that's putting on this show.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
I was putting on a show too.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
I mean, you were putting on a show. Drenking in
the outfield, I was putting on a show to a
different kind of show show.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
When I missed those balls, I did it, actually did.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
Those are adults who were hitting it. So I'm just
trying to, you know, let them get some hits and whatever.
Clearly everybody knows what I'm doing. Even their side, we're saying, hey,
that's super nice, like good job, whatever, and so okay,
a big deal. Okay. So then I get moved over
to third.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
I'm gonna be around Now, why are you moved over
to the.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
Nobody really has a position or anything. Everybody's just kind
of going wherever you want to play.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
There were too many infielders. Even there's like two people
at second.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
If you were there, you would have noticed, Okay, I
got some stuff.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
Okay, And so again I just go all right, I'll
play third whatever, I don't care. And so what happens again,
you know, a ball gets hit to me, and so
at this point there was a little one on second base,
so she's gonna run to me. And so obviously I'm
kind of the only one that's like, there's people on

(08:19):
our team that are still tagging them out and throwing
them out.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
Was trying to take attle.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
Literally, Red was like bowling kids over.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
There was a little girl with a helmet on in
the in the infield.

Speaker 4 (08:32):
She had to be like six, and a slow grounder
got hit to her and she's like excited.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
She gets in the yeah, and she was going.

Speaker 4 (08:42):
About to put her glove down, goes right in front
of her and grabs the ball and the first place.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
And any kind of showboats. But it was a slow dribbler.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
Did you see the time when like the little one
held on the ball and he went home and I
go read third score. We know you could score.

Speaker 4 (09:05):
So not they didn't didn't really understand what fans odd.

Speaker 3 (09:13):
That was the whole thing yesterday morning and leave not
but I can't find my sneakers.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
I don't know where sneakers are anywhere.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
And he didn't want to go cleats, but he didn't
find a sneaker, so he was pissed. It was a
whole Thank god he didn't say in a comment about it.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
He was making comments in the outfield. Wasn't happy about
anything this game.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
Yeah, I was talking myself. I was critiquing, ready to myself.
Got a newarfol earphone.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
Walker was a little busy with his binky. Okay, his
little on his hand, just hold on.

Speaker 4 (09:50):
Love it at the point in his life where he
wants to put things in his mouth, so he put
everything in his mouth yet.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
So so I meant this situation me third, little grounder
gets hit to me. Little one's coming at me. So
I'm the guy who is letting them score, letting them
runlet and we're still up by fifty. So I mean
it doesn't matter, it doesn't matter. So I'm that guy totally.
So everybody on the planet knows what's gonna happen here.

(10:18):
I'm gonna pretend to tag the girl. She's gonna be
too fast. Oh did I trip and fall? Something silly
is about to happen here. Okay, I'm silly goose. I'm
the silly goose. Okay, and so this is about to happen.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
Okay, here we go.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
As I get feeled the ground ball out of the blue,
somebody legitimately fucking tackles me, what like, out of the blue.
On my blindside, I saw this happened.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
It's like Miles Garrett hit a quarterback.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
A million to the point kind of hard to where
I almost fell over. Thank God. I'm a sturdy, large
man who some say is a little buff. Oh see
the calfs Okay, that's the only part. So I mean
I go pool get hit on blunt side, like what
the fuck is going on here? And turns out I

(11:13):
look over and I'm like, what is happening right here?
And I realized this is Robert's one friend that he brought.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
Robert brought a friend.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
Robert brought a friend, and for some reason, this guy
was coaching.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
Third we need a third base. It's this is Robert's friend.

Speaker 3 (11:33):
Yeah, but mind you, first time I've even ever met
a new friend friend.

Speaker 2 (11:37):
And he's going to your dad's.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
He's very immorial.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
Okay, okay, new friendship. That's he lives. He lives very
close by.

Speaker 2 (11:44):
Oh okay, okay, okay.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
So I don't I've met this guy. When I arrived,
Robert introduced me to him. That's the only interaction I had,
ohnic meet you, okay, yeah, yeah. He tackles me for
some reason, I guess, thinking that I'm going to tag
the girl out. What the fuck? Even though I'm the guy,
I'm silly goose, Yeah, you're the Corse. Yeah, and I

(12:07):
and I'm go dude, and I go, I'm not tagging
her you go I know, and I'm like, and that
you have that part of you where immediately I'm fucking hot.
And now I'm like, you don't know, and you're kind
of embarrassing me, like like it was kind of uncool. Yeah,

(12:29):
And then I'm also again, I'm not going to tag
her so.

Speaker 3 (12:33):
Because what he's doing is making it look like you're
the dick.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
He's going to tag out a little. Yes, you know,
I'm the opposite, but that's not.

Speaker 3 (12:40):
What you're doing at all. I immediately got so fucking
you saw it all go down, the entire thing for
right field. In between my SIPs and midello, I ended
up catching all this go down. I saw like almost
like if it was slow motion. I see the guy
going and I go, oh no, he does it, and
I go, fuck, I go knowing Eddie and I know
what Eddie was doing, and it's everything that Eddie just said.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
I know, I know Edie like that Eddie and go.

Speaker 1 (13:02):
Like that, oh no. And so I got immediately hot,
of course, and it was embarrassing. And I'm also like,
I'm the nice guy, like, why are you taking that
away from me? Take him out? Take that guy out,
you know, And so and then he's like, weirdly didn't

(13:22):
get it. He's laughing and all that stuff, and I'm pissed.
And then I go all right, Eddie, like this is
his dad's memorial game, Teddy shouldn't start a fight here,
like okay. So then I just kind of did the
shutdown of just

Speaker 3 (13:36):
Like channeled my dad because my dad would have damn it,
what did I do
