Speaker 1 (00:00):
So we were talking earlier this morning about everybody's Fourth
of July and how it went, but we didn't hear
from one person. Sky Oh Scott. Hi, guys, Uh yeah, listen.
She's like Katy Perry. You know, she's like a firework.
But I made the wrong assumption that Sky didn't do

(00:23):
anything for the Fourth of July because it's Sky. Yeah.
Apparently Sky actually did something for the fourth but of
course it got weird because she was in public.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
We ain't done yet. It's time for the one podcast
over a year, completely uncensored and unting filtered except.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
For that part the.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
The show's after show starts.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
Now, you did something with people?

Speaker 2 (00:56):
Yeah, Mike went to a party. No, No, I don't
do that. No, and my husband was there too.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
Now you're making this that's insane. What are you talking about?
That house? Yeah, I'm trying to impress. It was.

Speaker 3 (01:10):
It was pretty It was pretty wild for us. Yeah,
we have some friends in our neighborhood. You do well, Okay,
I should say, yeah, we had some friends in our neighborhood.
You know, we used to have a lot of friends
in our neighborhood, and we were always doing like every weekend,
we were remember barbecues and get togethers, even on like weeknights,
we'd run into somebody and they'd be like, hey, I

(01:32):
made a big lazag ya you guys want to come
over for dinner.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
That's so crazy. It's one of those neighbors.

Speaker 4 (01:38):
I can't imagine me. I'm at home chilling and my wife, Hey,
we're going over to so and so is right now.
I'd be like that, what we are?

Speaker 1 (01:43):
What if everybody was coming to your house?

Speaker 4 (01:46):
Yeah, I would just run.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
That's insane.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
Yeah, ex definitely one of those neighborhoods were like doors
are always open.

Speaker 4 (01:55):
Nightmare.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
That's the best.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
I love it. Hey, guys, come over. I have a
pot of chili. Yeah, I know who's saying that.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
Well, it depends who you are.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
Back in the day, we used to think it was
the best when we were social. But then COVID gave
my husband a chance to really dive deep in his
social anxiety and never come back.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
Out and yeah, seem very healthy. Yeah, and I no, no,
it's not good.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
And so I kind of joined him on that because
it got weird for me going to things and people
being like, oh, where's the boo, where's the boo, you know,
and I'd be like, and I'd have to make up
some fucking lie because you know me, I can't actually
just be honest and be like he doesn't want to
be around humans. So then I just stopped going to
things too. So now we rarely go, but every once

(02:44):
in a while. And I don't know why this happens.
I'm assuming because people just reuse the text thread or
the evite list from the last time, and so every
once in a while we'll get an invite to something
still from this group friends. I kind of feel that way,

(03:04):
like not that it's a mistake, but they just don't
realize we're still on the list, you know what I mean, Because.

Speaker 4 (03:10):
It's do you think after they pressend you forget.

Speaker 5 (03:15):
You said something too quick and then.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
You go over, okay, can you not with the I
I don't think they dislike us, but once somebody doesn't
show up, so many times they just kind of normally
get get deleted off the list, but sometimes we're still
on the list and we'll still get the invite.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
And that's what happened for the fourth of July.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
So our friends that are old friends, we're having their
annual Fourth of July Barbecue. It's always a thing, like
everybody goes to the parade in bird Rock and then
after all, I didn't go this year?

Speaker 4 (03:51):
What you didn't go every year?

Speaker 1 (03:54):
And then you cry cry.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
I cry because it's so beautiful.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
And and an old license Americana if you will.

Speaker 4 (04:02):
Yeah, nothing says old Americana like a rich and white.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
Well in certain places. Yes, yeah, actually.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Our country was founded.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
Uh so yeah, but we actually overslept this year. Yeah,
I like crazy, So you kind of got to be
there by like nine thirty to be able to because
we moved up the hill a little bit, so we're
not in the little I can look down.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
No, no, we moved up there. We used to live
right where.

Speaker 4 (04:38):
I didn't like these I didn't like these people walking
near my product.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
I bought the land on the hill.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
I didn't I didn't buy a whole hill. So we
just moved up the hill a little bit, so.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
We would have we would have to drive and to
park and walk there, you'd have to be there about
nine thirty because it starts at ten, and so we
didn't wake up till like nine ish. And by the
time I got my coffee made, and I'm feeling like
a human.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
I'm like, we're not.

Speaker 3 (05:08):
By the time we park and walk down there, it's
gonna be like the tail lish. I'm gonna miss all
the cool floats and.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
All the the cool floats.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
Yep, I saw the pictures.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
Is there actual floats? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (05:21):
Yeah, but they're like they're like next level homemade, you
know what I mean, Like who works in some Hollywood
art department who made this giant, you.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
Know, eagle type thing?

Speaker 1 (05:33):
You know.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
So So anyway, so for the first time in like
over a decade, we missed the parade, which kind of
made me sad, but we still had the invite to
the barbecue, and so I had mentioned it to my husband,
and to my surprise, he didn't say anything negative or
shitty about going out and socializing, which I'm like, oh, what.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
Do we have here?

Speaker 1 (05:58):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (05:59):
Seriously, like his world, what would he normally say?

Speaker 3 (06:02):
He would be like he'd finds something to complain about
that's not true, like oh, you can't park in front
of near their house, or or it's you know, oh
then we got to make a dish.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
Or like he would just find something anyway. No, not
at all, not at all.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
So I definitely jumped on that and I was like, cool,
we're then this means we're going.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
So I had rsvped as a.

Speaker 3 (06:27):
Yes for the party, and we showed up probably around
one o'clock. Brought some Sweet Trader Joe's frozen apps with
mac and cheese balls.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
Where's the fruit? Wait? You did?

Speaker 2 (06:40):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (06:40):
Well, because I've been to this barbecue before and there's
so much fruit, and it's gonna.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
You only bring fruit.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
That's yes.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
Most of the time I bring fruit because that's my
go to. But I've been to this barbecue and I
know there's the hostess is going to have a platter fruit.
Plus there's gonna be a zillion people who are gonna
make fruit. They and I was right, there was there was.
It was redundant fruit, especially strawberries and blueberries.

Speaker 5 (07:05):
Do you have a texter? And just say, hey, what
can I bring?

Speaker 3 (07:08):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (07:08):
That's what I That's what I do. And then the
hostess will usually say, oh, yeah, we need this, we
need this, or we have so much food, don't worry
about it. Just bring something to drink.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
Yeah, it's said in the evite to bring a dish
and something to drink. And I've done that before with
this group, and they normally just say whatever you want,
which frustrates me. And so so my go to if
I'm not doing the fruit is the fried mac and
cheeseballs from Trader Joe's.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
Can't we just go over the things to not do
at a barbecue or for the July party, which is,
don't bring things that you have to use somebody's oven
for No.

Speaker 3 (07:45):
I bake them at home and then like as I'm
walking out the door, I put them on a glass
dish and then cover them with foil and bring them.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
Oh, they were a hip bro.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
Because they're a hitt brow with kids and adults and
there's always they knew how that was prepared in the oven?

Speaker 2 (08:02):
What do you mean how that was? I mean I
prepared in my butt? Like, what do you mean now?
It was prepared like I didn't.

Speaker 5 (08:09):
I think warm adpetizer is a little risky to bring.
Sometimes you're agreeing with you. I mean, hey, like a
warm dip stays warmer longer. So I don't know, maybe
I'm I'm you know, you said people ate them, so.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
Yeah, the inside of the you're fine dinner, You're fine,
I'm fine.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
Oh come on, those things were those things were a hit.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
They were like when I laughed out of the you
know four boxes I got that were like three little
balls left.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
Yeah, there's a lot of people at these barbecues.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
Uh yeah, so we show up and uh, you know,
had a great time. It does get a little frustrating
hearing the same thing over and over again of.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
Oh, great to see you guys. Where have you been?
What's going on? Why don't we see you anymore?

Speaker 1 (08:58):
How do you answer that?

Speaker 4 (08:59):
I can I kick a shot? Well, we bought a
home in Oregon and we like to go there all
the time and we're always usually there. That's our happy place.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
Some of that it depends who's asking. Uh, if you're
you know, on the fringe, you kind of get that.
But most of the people there who really know us,
they know.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
The deal at this and why would they be asking.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
Just because it's like something that's conversation.

Speaker 3 (09:25):
And then and then literally as I was leaving, a
couple people said to me, Okay, see you next year,
Like they literally said see you next year, Like it's good.
And these people get together like every other weekend, you
know what I mean? So okay, great, I get it.
It's it's our own fault. You know they so you
know any but they're always so nice, you know, every
time it's like long long lost friends, you know, big hugs,

(09:48):
like great to see you, glad you act, glad you
actually came, you know, those kind of things. Uh, so
we're having a great time. My husband, of course, is
eating an obnoxious amount of food. Actually the hostess didn't
recognize him at first, the person throwing the party who
used to be one of our good friends, because well, no,

(10:10):
he he's actually because the boo goes through a variety
of body shapes, and he's kind of in the trimmer
phase right now, and he had just completely shaved lots
of times he has stubble, and then he was wearing
a new hat.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
Will do it, new hat.

Speaker 3 (10:27):
It just depends is he's sitting behind the computer all
day working on projects or is he like actually in
the yard with a shovel working on projects. And he's
been with a shovel carrying buckets of like rocks and
dirt for the last months.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
So so we're we're in the middle.

Speaker 1 (10:41):
Of trim building a well.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
We ripped out all our front landscape and redid it
to make it more drought tolerant and a little easier
to maintain. So a lot of a lot of rock
scape going on out there, so buckets are rock always
something bro and then he'll rip up out tomorrow to
rebuild it. So it was actually well. And also I

(11:05):
think why she didn't recognize him is his head was
down so intently looking at all the different food items,
Like they don't make a plate big enough when you
present my husband with a especially all the desserts. Please
believe he took a to go plate of desserts.

Speaker 2 (11:24):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (11:25):
He like joked about it to the guy whose house
it was, and then of course the guy's.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
Like, oh please, we have so much stuff, please please.

Speaker 3 (11:33):
And then you just see my husband glow like he's
just won the lottery.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
You know. Wow.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
Yeah, So a lot of that is going on, and
we're having a great time talking to a lot of people.

Speaker 2 (11:44):
But shade is kind of at a minimum.

Speaker 3 (11:47):
You know, there's like a lot of seating areas that
don't have shade, or like only a fourth of the
area has shade, and so kind of I don't know,
we've been there maybe for like four hours. I'm not
drinking because of my you know, weird kind of health
stuff going on. I haven't really been drinking because it
makes me feel like crap and whatever.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
So I just that's where people and actually be at
a party, not yeah, consume alcohol.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
Don't understand that, I know what.

Speaker 1 (12:16):
Yeah, okay, I'm going.

Speaker 5 (12:17):
To believe you.

Speaker 3 (12:18):
Yeah, okay, yeah, if it's not weird for me too,
because this is definitely one of the situations where I
would drink and maybe over drink and then claim the
next day I had some bad shacouterie. But I opened
the cooler and I decided to pick out a sprite guys,
so that that.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
Was my hot beverage of the day. Wid Yeah. And
so we're about four hours.

Speaker 3 (12:38):
In and then it just hits me. I don't feel
so good. I feel like overheating.

Speaker 1 (12:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
No, they were excited. Yeah, it's seventy out and you're
on the coast.

Speaker 1 (12:53):
You're over you said you're overheated.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
I'm overheated. I'm overheated.

Speaker 3 (12:56):
What And I'm like in a little sun dras in
New York right now, Arizona, I.

Speaker 5 (13:03):
Was an alcohol you know where by Eddie's house. It
was like no, almost ninety Yeah.

Speaker 3 (13:07):
So I'm getting to the point where I'm not feeling
well and I just want to go home and lay down.
And so we ended up having to leave the party
at like, you know, four o'clock because.

Speaker 4 (13:19):
I was shoved desserts and his cargoes.

Speaker 2 (13:22):
No, he took a to go plate.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
He literally took a plate with like eight desserts on
it and like cut into desserts that hadn't even been
cut into.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
Yet to take a piece of them to go.

Speaker 3 (13:35):
Yeah, And so so I feel like a do work.
So I don't even like tell, you know, people that
I'm I'm not feeling well because I don't want to
have to go through that whole explanation.

Speaker 4 (13:44):
And then have you know, the girl just putting a
sweater because she's a little chilly at the party.

Speaker 3 (13:49):
Yeah, yeah, you're dying like I'm in the middle of
the desert. I know, I know, but this is part
of the weird new thing that I'm like, Now, if
I get like a little bit overheated, I feel sick.
I feel like super sick. And so that happened, and
I'm like, Okay, so I'm bummed we have to leave,
but I'm kind of excited because this is the first

(14:11):
opportunity for me to go home and check out my
and use my brand new blood pressure machine that I
bought for the house.

Speaker 1 (14:20):
I'm sorry, what, okay.

Speaker 2 (14:21):
I'm gonna take my own blood pressure.

Speaker 4 (14:23):
What you're taking your own blood pressure?

Speaker 1 (14:27):
Now?

Speaker 2 (14:27):
Yeah, I'm making a chart. I'm taking short.

Speaker 3 (14:30):
Yeah, I'm taking my blood pressure all throughout, like different times,
doing different things, just to see where it's at for
a chart to give to my doctor.

Speaker 1 (14:39):
Did they ask you to do that?

Speaker 3 (14:40):
My doctor recommended it a while ago, and I'm like, well,
that's weird. I don't like when you go to get
your blood pressure taken they tell you the numbers.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
I don't know what they mean.

Speaker 3 (14:49):
They've always said that they're good, so I kind of
thought it was stupid. But now that I'm like, I
don't know why my body's being so weird. So I
was like, this is a hot no pun intended tunity
to use.

Speaker 1 (15:01):
You want to do this?

Speaker 2 (15:02):
Yeah, I'm like excited. You know, I love it.

Speaker 3 (15:04):
You know I love charts and graphs and numbers, so
I'm really excited about it.

Speaker 1 (15:10):
Wait, why would it being overheated make your blood pressure
have anything to do with your blood I.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
Have no idea.

Speaker 1 (15:15):
Oh so you don't. I don't know how the correlation.

Speaker 3 (15:18):
I don't know if there is a correlation, but all
I know is that I feel shitty at weird times.
So I'm like, well, if I'm regularly taking it at
shitty times and at good times, like maybe it'll show
something that the doctor finds interesting.

Speaker 4 (15:32):
My wife we had a blood pressure machine because my
wife had proclamsia, prospartum proclemsia, so we had taken her
blood pressure because we had to make sure she'd not
have to go back to the hospital. This I don't
know about.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
Yeah, no, that makes sense.

Speaker 1 (15:44):
This is being overheated in seventy degree weather. Yeah, I
don't know.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (15:50):
And so then I realized, because you know, I used
it a few times before, I actually looked at the
pamphlet and that's when I realized sitting Indian style or
with my legs cross.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
I didn't know they tell you that every time.

Speaker 3 (16:05):
You go to the doctor legs, but I guess I'm
never because I'm normally sitting on that table in the
doctor's office like little kid style, like you know, with
my legs hanging down. So I guess I've never really
paid attention before. So so now I know I actually
read the position you're supposed to be in. I'm keeping
a chart, and of course my husband has input every

(16:28):
time on if like the number is high or off,
you know, like it comes up red, because most of
the time it's coming up green, but a couple of
times it has come up red. He always has input
on like what I'm doing wrong or why it would
be like that. He's like, well, you had a cup
of coffee. Of course it's going to be like that.
And I'm like, people get high blood pressure if they
have a cup of coffee, Like I'm not allowed to
have coffee, Like.

Speaker 5 (16:48):
Yeah, it makes it because like I've made the mistake
of like having my afternoon pick me up that I
do sometimes, but.

Speaker 1 (16:58):
I'm doctor, can you pick me up?

Speaker 5 (17:02):
It's not.

Speaker 2 (17:04):
But I stopped doing that.

Speaker 1 (17:05):
I feel a bump. Take my blood pressure, see what's up?

Speaker 3 (17:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (17:10):
I feel like we're gonna come in here and sky
is gonna be like yeah. After I know my blood pressure,
I put my stethoscope in, listen to my heart rate, yeah,
and then hear my lungs.

Speaker 3 (17:20):
I did consider bringing it to work today blood pressure
mach Yeah, Well, because I'm getting a massage today and
last time I got a massage. After my massage, I
felt like my body like the massage felt good, but
I felt like no, I didn't feel overheated.

Speaker 2 (17:35):
I felt like ill. Yeah, like like I felt like fluish.

Speaker 3 (17:39):
And so I'm like, maybe I should take my blood
pressure right after the massage to see what that's about.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
So I may be carrying this thing around guys. It
may maybe my new buddy.

Speaker 3 (17:49):
You may.

Speaker 1 (17:51):
I'm gonna lose my mind. You're making my blood pressure
go up.
