Speaker 1 (00:00):
So Thor and his wife Hayley are in kind of
a weird spot right now. So they have a son,
and so normally when you have a kid, you start
hanging out and meeting other people with kids. There's a
lot of couple things that you end up starting to
do because you know you have that in common, and
then your kids play with the other kids and then
(00:22):
that's sort of out it goes right. Yeah, you hate that,
Like thinking about some of the best friends that I have,
or how I met.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
Your friends with all your ob friends.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
I am still friends.
Speaker 3 (00:32):
It's so much.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
But I got to understand though, it's so much easier
for you though, because you were born and raised here,
like and you I already had a million friends, you know,
I only really have a certain amount of friends and
like a small recovery group. But I mean, like my
friend Aubrey that I met, that was all through, that
was all through just being parents. But like, I just
hate the Like just a picture of the stereotypical parents
(00:53):
sitting there talking with they're talking about their kids while
they're watching their kids. It just seems like it's gonna
be a cheese just seems so boring.
Speaker 1 (01:04):
Welcome to welcome to parenthood because it's sort of what happens.
But Borr has noticed that that's not immediately happening. Maybe
that's why, because he's the reason. Maybe I think that's
probably it.
Speaker 4 (01:18):
We ain't done yet.
Speaker 5 (01:20):
It's time for the podcast yet completely uncensored and unding
filtered except for that part.
Speaker 4 (01:30):
The show's after show starts.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
Now, Well, the alternative is weird. The alternative is you're
a couple, you're married, and you're hanging out with a
single friend.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
That's weird.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
And I just want to I don't want to sound
like Emily here. I just want to be like the
cool couple, the fun couple.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
I don't. I don't want to be I don't.
Speaker 5 (01:55):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 3 (01:55):
Does that what does that mean?
Speaker 2 (01:56):
Because okay, then you don't have kids. I look at
my sister and my brother law and they're great. I
love them, But like when we hang out with them
and their friends and we're in Michigan, it's just it's
just so like it's just like so like any SNL
comedy sketch, like they come over with their kids and
then they just sit there and literally spend two hours
to all talking about.
Speaker 4 (02:16):
Their kids just because those are that kind of people.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
I just don't want to do that. I want to
be the cool people like you Emily.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
Yeah, So like I have my group of friends, you
know that like all go when I go over to
their house, it's on, like drinking wise, like that's when
we get together. We're going to get together and we
know that it's going to be on. Or I have
a couple of friends that I go out with, the
dinner with and things like that that we're not just
sitting around talking about our kids.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
So you can't do that.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
Okay, that makes me feel better. Or we could be
like Sky just never do anything, or just.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
Have no friends, have no friends. Yeah that's just sad
though you don't want that.
Speaker 6 (02:52):
But when we did have friends, they pretty much all
came from parenting, Like all of them came from you know,
first it was the baby classes and then once school starts, dude.
Speaker 4 (03:04):
It's on.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
It's on.
Speaker 6 (03:06):
There's because because when your kid's little, you have to
stay at the birthday parties.
Speaker 4 (03:11):
So you're automatically.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
Are we you mean my wife, yes, yes, but sometimes
I'll get tagged in, which was the worst, Like.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
If she had to do something else with your daughter,
then you'd have to take that.
Speaker 3 (03:27):
Those were the worst.
Speaker 6 (03:28):
God.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
Yeah, especially, I'm not gonna I'm not gonna do. I'm
not gonna I'm not gonna force you, like I'm not.
Like his first birthday is coming up in four months,
Like I'll say you guys to come if you want,
But you don't have to force people.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
It depends who it is, Like, like, you're my good friend,
so I can go over and we'll hang out and
we'll have a good tennis. I'm not worried about that.
It's those people like my son is friends with so
and so, so we gotta I gotta bring him to
the birthday parties. He got that weird invite with Clifford
the big red Dog on it, and that means I
gotta go fuck.
Speaker 6 (04:05):
Yeah again, which could be let a great band a
couple of times. But yeah, after a while, you're like,
don't they have anything else on this menu?
Speaker 4 (04:16):
Like pizza salarza, Okay, something else else?
Speaker 1 (04:21):
So yeah, so uh it is it is inevitable, you know,
but weirdly not happening right now.
Speaker 3 (04:28):
No.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
So a lot of our friends are like you guys
where all your kids are way older so it doesn't
make sense. And then I have a couple of friends
who have one one kid who's four. And then there's
two other friends, Doug and Louis, but I don't see
them as much because they're just crazy busy, you know
what I mean, And we just don't see each other
that much. So we have a there's there's something going
(04:52):
on that we tried and I don't know what the CITs,
what the problem is. So we have this one, these two,
this couple we hung out with and we thought we
had a good time, and because our go to couple
for a really long time was our friends Zach and Kelsey,
and they were great, and then they moved.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
Did they have kids?
Speaker 2 (05:11):
They had a kid, but he's older. But even before
even when they had him, and before we had a kid,
they were our go to couple, and but they moved
and it's devastating. So we really don't have that go
to couple, you know. And we tried with this one couple.
Speaker 4 (05:25):
What did you guys do?
Speaker 2 (05:26):
What was your They came over to our We we
went to one of their birthdays, like a bar, a
bar area, had a good time. Then they came over
to our house. We had a blessed that was like
six months ago. I haven't hear from him since.
Speaker 3 (05:38):
What did you do?
Speaker 2 (05:39):
I don't know what I did.
Speaker 4 (05:40):
Was it a game night? Did you get too?
Speaker 2 (05:42):
It wasn't a game night. We were just talking.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
Sky is the only one that will ruin a game.
Speaker 2 (05:50):
Night with her cheat. So I don't know what I did.
And then my wife is like, why don't you text
him and just say what's up? And I go because
he doesn't text me, And I go, I know you're
friends with her, so why don't you text her?
Speaker 3 (06:02):
So you've hung out just twice and you're broken up.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
But I've known him for a while.
Speaker 4 (06:07):
Are you the one that met him first?
Speaker 2 (06:09):
Yeah? I meet my wife both met him. Oh, but
my wife became friends with her, invited her to her
baby shower. But for some reason, like they never want
to have kids, No, that's why. But they love kids. Sure,
but that's why they're gonna They're they're gonna have kids.
Speaker 3 (06:28):
But that's why. So after they have a kid, yeah,
you'll hear from him again.
Speaker 2 (06:33):
See what what the fuck?
Speaker 5 (06:36):
So?
Speaker 2 (06:36):
Okay, So that happened, and my wife thinks it's my fault.
It's not my fault. But I'm delight.
Speaker 7 (06:42):
No, no, no, no, you hear you. No when I
when I'm out, I could be charming. I could be
very charming. I could be a delight and people like me. Okay,
I'm a delight. I'm a delight.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
My wife on the other end, she bless like.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
I love.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
She's got a big laugh, turn people the wrong way. Laugh.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
You you're always performing and think you have to be
on and nobody likes nobody likes it.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
To nobody likes it.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
I have friends.
Speaker 6 (07:19):
And and if the topic of sports comes up, it
could it could get real because you've got strong opinions
about stuff and you're not keeping it to yourself.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
That was strike one.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
Okay, So this couple's done.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
This couple they're not done.
Speaker 4 (07:34):
But we love a text and Haley are done. You
needn't love the text.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
Why doesn't My wife loves the text? All Right, I'll
text him, I'll text him, hey, what's up?
Speaker 3 (07:43):
What you've been?
Speaker 2 (07:46):
Then there's this other couple Lee and yes we lovele
and yes they live in now my wife has no
but here's this will make sense. Okay, this will make sense.
Speaker 3 (07:56):
I wonder why you don't hang out?
Speaker 2 (07:59):
His family is from San Diego, so they come down
here often and when we go up there to see
Haley's family, we always make a point to see them.
We lovely and Jess. I actually Jess is probably my
favorite out of all of Haley's friends. She's the best.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
Terrible thing to say when a lot of friends atening,
I shouldn't pick favorites, I'll say that and it's not
you right, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
Are you just mad because you're one of Haley's friends.
Speaker 3 (08:28):
I would love to hang out with just Haley not.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
So we get along with them really well. And Hailey's
been friends with Jess it's like the first grade. So
that's how that's. Yeah, So we last time we hung
out with them, the topic of vacation came up and
they were like, yeah, we're taking a break during the
Juneteenth week, and I go, oh, so are we, And
then it kind of got brought up we should maybe
(08:54):
with the four of us go on vacation. And they
have two kids and their oldest is like four and
their youngest is two, so very close to the same
as as walking That's what I said. So they were like, yeah, well,
what definitely think about it. Send us some ideas. So
I sent him some stuff they didn't respond to.
Speaker 4 (09:12):
Did respond?
Speaker 3 (09:13):
They didn't respond? I mean that's.
Speaker 1 (09:16):
Spond And then when they were maybe maybe they didn't
go on vacation.
Speaker 3 (09:19):
Yeah, no they did.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
And then when they were in San Diego, they didn't
see us.
Speaker 3 (09:24):
Oh no, what so it is you?
Speaker 2 (09:27):
Well, Haley still talks to Jess obviously I still DM
with him and her and Lee m but that's a
very personal but they like so I'm like, what did
Haley do at that lunch?
Speaker 3 (09:39):
I mean, clearly opposite?
Speaker 2 (09:40):
Why is it me? Yeah, going to Hawaii, that's a vacation. Well,
I mean you need to start out small, like, hey,
let's go to Palm Springs for the weekend. You know
what I mean. I'm just that's just an example.
Speaker 4 (09:55):
I'm just saying, you start out.
Speaker 3 (09:56):
Time you've been to Palm Springs.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
To Palm Spring the last time I've been in the spring.
Speaker 3 (10:01):
I don't think you've ever been. I don't think you've
ever been. Trying to think multiple multiple you ever have?
Speaker 6 (10:09):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (10:09):
I have? When it's hot there, it's just there's.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
There's there's the water park that I've been to there
that was great.
Speaker 4 (10:18):
Were you like a child?
Speaker 3 (10:19):
No?
Speaker 2 (10:19):
I was like twenty four.
Speaker 4 (10:21):
See, I think it's opinions like this are the reason
these are exactly exactly.
Speaker 3 (10:26):
I just hate springs.
Speaker 4 (10:28):
Well, they just suggested it, they like it.
Speaker 2 (10:30):
They first of all, Emily suggested that they didn't suggest this.
Speaker 3 (10:33):
Guy, did you bring up Oregon?
Speaker 2 (10:38):
I said, I know a house that's half that's half
over a cliff right now.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
It's always empty, it's always I mean sturdy, and it's
currently Oh.
Speaker 3 (10:49):
Damn you Okay.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
So that was the second couple. So I'm like, damn
the third couple.
Speaker 1 (10:55):
Because the third you can't keep a couple like, we
don't have one at all.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
God, I know, Zach Kelsey screwed us. That's what it.
Speaker 3 (11:04):
Family, Okay.
Speaker 2 (11:07):
To leave you guys, Zach giants fan very.
Speaker 3 (11:16):
So.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
The last couple is my wife's brother and his wife,
and we get We get along with them.
Speaker 5 (11:23):
Great.
Speaker 2 (11:24):
Scott, he's great, Tory is great. We were up there
in nor Cow, went out to dinner for his birthday.
We had a great time. So we have a text
thread between the four of us. They have two kids
that are one a year and a half older than Walker.
The other one is two months older than Walker. Right, perfect, right,
they're in norcl.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
This is maybe I want to I want to look local.
Speaker 2 (11:47):
But this is vacation friends, Like we can have vacation friends.
Speaker 3 (11:50):
I guess they're not friends.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
It's her brother, I know, Well here's his family. Well
here's the thing too, Like it's tough too, because sometimes
you just want to like say things to like I'll
say things to Ed that I'm not going to say
to my brother in hope not like. So that's what
makes it a little I'm never gonna But the thing
that sucks is he's a lot like he would say
that to his buddies. He's not one of these weirdos
(12:14):
like Jim from the office, who would never do that,
you know what I mean. But you know, because he's
that douche who only looks at his wife.
Speaker 3 (12:21):
Sure buddies, Sure buddy, that's like the boo.
Speaker 2 (12:27):
So I throw out there because they love camping, So
I throw out there, Hey, we're going to Mammoth. You
guys should meet us in Mammoth because they're off that
week and it's perfect. So they right back, Oh, that
would be great, let's look into it. They never respond again,
(12:50):
So I'm like, that's kind of weird. Why wouldn't they
respond to that, right.
Speaker 3 (12:54):
And Hayley didn't get in there with her brother.
Speaker 2 (12:56):
No, they don't communicate with that, but something like that happens.
It just goes on set. But like me and my sister,
I'll be like, I'll say, are.
Speaker 3 (13:06):
You coming what's going on?
Speaker 5 (13:07):
Well?
Speaker 1 (13:07):
See, I don't think you need to say that, but
you would just be like, you know, he is coming up.
Speaker 3 (13:13):
You guys, you know we we got to think about
it if you want to.
Speaker 7 (13:15):
You know, there's ways off.
Speaker 3 (13:18):
Okay, okay again, and you're not the problem. I'm not
the problem.
Speaker 2 (13:22):
So then so then it comes out that we go
to this Mamma trip. They don't go obviously, and then
this past week, guess who randomly went to Hawaii and
didn't invite us.
Speaker 1 (13:36):
Well maybe that's maybe that's why you probably should. But again,
if Haley's not getting in there with her own brother,
I don't know what to say.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
Strike We're out and I'm turning in the sky. I
don't want friends anymore.
Speaker 1 (13:50):
Well you, well you don't have any, so may I
mean you are turning into sky
