guest our Kirk Myerscott Bottoms will join us at five
(00:20):
thirty six. Victor Marks was invited but declined. Barb, welcome
back to the DANKPLA Show.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
Hey, thanks for having me.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
It's great to be here.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
Well, I got to tell you I think you were
at your very best last night. I mean, it had
to be an amazing experience. But let me start with
this the dog. How did the dog end up on
the stage.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
I don't know. Okay, so amazing as not how I
would describe the experience.
Speaker 3 (00:49):
I would have said bizarre.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
It was one of the most bizarre debate type forums
I think I've ever attended and been involved in.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
As well.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
The dog was supuzzly a certain a dog until I
heard Victor Mark say, well, you know, if you're not careful,
my dogs are going to bite you. And he was
talking to Kyle Clark, and I thought, okay, wait a minute,
service dogs are not trained to bite people.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
That would be a security dog.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
So what the heck is going on here?
Speaker 3 (01:14):
And that's what I thought.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
Maybe they're sketched over a bit because the dog's right
next to me.
Speaker 3 (01:18):
But I don't know, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
It was certainly different, and I don't want to burn
a lot of time on this, but I've been wondering
since i've seen it, since you know, normally debate roles
say no props. But was there conversation between the camps?
Was was their agreement of the different people debating.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
No, we weren't the dog. Yeah, we weren't asked about
the dog. I mean, not that I would have brought
my dog my dog is mean.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
Yeah, yeah, no, I just you know, but fascinating, No, fascinating. Hey,
I want to play a clip and dog was there? Yeah,
I want to play a clip of you last night
that that I think was just.
Speaker 4 (02:00):
One of the boldest, you know, most articulate kind of
attack under fire that I've ever seen in a debate.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
And then I want you to take us inside this,
let us pur myers speak here.
Speaker 5 (02:15):
You've also said that you will not support mister Marx
if he's your party's nominee. Why not And what's not
going to mean for Republicans and down ballot races if
your party is visibly split over your nominee for governor.
Speaker 3 (02:28):
Well, first of all, thank you for the question.
Speaker 6 (02:31):
Our party is already split and it's already going to
be an issue if mister Marx is the nominee and
on the ballot, I think we'll lose every down ballot
racer is with him on there, I think will be
it'll be a replay of twenty ten, similar to Dan Mays,
and it could be the extension of the Republican Party.
Speaker 3 (02:46):
But the reason I have said that.
Speaker 6 (02:47):
I will not support mister Marx is because one, I mean,
he is unqualified, but that's not really the reason.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
It's because he's unfit.
Speaker 6 (02:55):
By his own words, he has said he's unfit.
Speaker 2 (02:57):
He talks about homicidal and suicidal.
Speaker 6 (02:59):
Ten makes me a little worried about, you know, being
in rooms with him that quite frankly, he's a fraud.
He makes up these tall tales, these tall stories, and
I just don't believe them. And even when you have
asked him these questions directly, he just doesn't answer them.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
And lastly, if you can't.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
Keep your word to show up to a debate.
Speaker 6 (03:20):
To show up to a forum that you commit it to,
I'm thinking you can't keep your word on anything, and
that's why I won't support you. You can't keep your word,
I can't trust you. You're unfit, you're unqualified. You think
you're an outsider. You're not an outsider. You're a politician.
You've entered the ring right now, so you're a politician.
You don't get to keep claiming an outsider. That's just
your way of saying you don't know what you're talking about.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
I got to tell you, Barbar's a guy who's been
a trial lawyer for forty two years, try a lot
of cases. I mean, whether somebody agrees with what you
were saying or not. That help was one of the
most articulate, bold, kind of riffs that I've ever seen
in politics. What what was it like to be in
(04:03):
that moment?
Speaker 2 (04:05):
Well, you know, we've been dealing with this myself and
represent the bottoms of and several of the other candidates
have been dealing with this for months.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
And Victor Marx made all these comments and.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
He said that he would, uh, you know, he would
after the ballot was set, he'd attend these forums and
these debates, and then he stopped.
Speaker 3 (04:24):
He didn't do that, and then he said he was
committed to two. And then he.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
Didn't come to the one at the commad of Christian
University back on it, and then here's this one. He said,
quite frankly, he put a poll up. You know, do
you do you think I should go or not?
Speaker 3 (04:38):
What I mean, you're gonna pull.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
Everything when you're if you get into the governor's office.
I don't think so. But the thing is, it's like
I don't trust him. And I watched the interview between
him and Kyle Clark, and I heard the interview between
him and Peter Boyles, and he flat out basically said that,
you know, on his web page he had that he
had saved or rescue or whatever. I mean, we could
(05:02):
get into somatics here, but he said he saved and
rescued forty five thousand kids. And then he said he
was involved in this Northern Lights, you know episode down
in Florida back in December I think it was last year.
And yet his ministry is that list it come on
and you know, he basically said on Peter Boyles that no,
he'd never said that. Then when he gets, you know,
(05:23):
nailed down by Kyle Clark on it in that interview,
he's like, no, I didn't do that.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
And it's like it's on your web page.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
It said your book and he's like, well, no, I
didn't do that. And I'm like, you need to stop
making up stuff. You know, I don't trust you. I
think you are a fraud and I think he is
a fraud.
Speaker 3 (05:39):
Kind of thing. So it's just and then I mean, I'm.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
Sure you can hear the frustration of my voice, but
I'll call him down here a little bit. But here's
the thing. Yeah, ever since that Kyle Clark interview came out, Barr.
Speaker 3 (05:52):
Has been set really low.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
Now. I was at a Lincoln Day dinner over the weekend.
I'm getting asked, how many people have you killed? I'm like, seriously,
you know, that's an easy answer some time think about it,
and you know, but have you ever killed it? I mean,
that's like the big joke on on now, what how
many people have you killed?
Speaker 3 (06:09):
And it's like zero? And it took me no time
to think of it.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
But you know, that's what's going on in the Republican Party.
And so last night I'm sitting there thinking this is bizarre,
and I'm also embarrassed and frustrated that they've taken this
bar down so low. They're damaging our party. Well, you know,
they're just damaging our party.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
What do you say to the people? And I think
there are a lot of people out there right now
who who believe that Victor is a fraud and they
believe all these bad things are going to happen that
you talk about if he's the nominee, and they're saying
we need Barb. We're depending on Barb to go out
and to to stop this. What do you say to
(06:51):
those people? And I guess to be more precise, because
I personally think you were just performed extraordinarily last night.
But is your campaign going to have the money to
tell this story statewide when when these primary voters finally
start paying attention.
Speaker 2 (07:09):
Yeah, you know, it's it is difficult. You know, I
did my job and stayed on the Joint Budget Committee,
and you know, I was elected as a state senator.
So it really put a damper into fundraising because basically
I'm working full time and.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
It's difficult to do both.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
But yeah, I think we will have the money. I
think there are as you know, campaign finance US and
laws and things changed several years ago, and there are
outside groups that get to run campaigns all on their own.
We don't get to coordinate with them. We don't know
what they're doing. But I think there will be funds
in those types of situations, those types of committees, and
(07:46):
so yeah, I think it won't necessarily be my message
but my vision for Colorado, but it will be someone
else's message about what they think I'm going to do.
And I think, yeah, I think it will help get
out there. And you know, quite frankly, I've been out
traveling around the state quite a bit, especially since session
was over, but even during session, you know, I was
going throughout the state, especially on the weekends. And you know,
(08:10):
if I show up and I talk to people, I
think I'm getting their vote because it's always very positive
and I can talk about, you know, my story, like
why I run, and you know what I have done
and how I have delivered, and you know, I know
I get attacked all the time. Well you're a career politician,
Well you know what this is one career politician who
has actually delivered on the job and cut taxes and
(08:31):
cut spending and cut regulations and built roads for goodness
sakes that actually will be here for a while and
not crumble and fall apart, you know, and got out
and I did the you know, I co chaired the
no on H H campaign and led my you know,
and we won that. And I led my county to
zero debt. I mean, the list of my accomplishments, my
track record I would put up against anybody's, anybody's in
(08:54):
this state. And so when I start telling that story
and I tell them what we're doing, and then talk
about my vision for Colorado, that there is hope. Yes,
the Democrats, one party control, have made just a complete
mess out of our state. But you know, I've got
a vision I can pick that I can fix the
budget and it'll take me about six months.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
I've got a plan to fix the roads.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
We'll work on education and hold our schools accountable to
make sure our kids are getting the education that they
deserve and that we're paying for. And you know, I have.
Speaker 3 (09:20):
Worked with law enforcement and back the blue and I'm.
Speaker 2 (09:23):
Going to do our thing I can to make sure
that we feel safe in our communities.
Speaker 7 (09:26):
Listen.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
I don't think there's any questioning any honest person's mind
that you are very ready to be governor and that
you'd be an extremely credible GOP nominee. I think short
of the Good Lord coming down himself and running as
the GOP nominee, is going to be a tough race.
And we know the Good Lord wouldn't do that. Yeah,
but I don't think anybody honest would doubt all of that.
I think the wild card is just everything else we've
(09:50):
been talking about, which is okay, there are just a
few weeks left. Do you do you agree with those?
And I'm one of them who think, at this point,
not based on any polling, that victim is probably the
front runner. Do you think that's the case here or
are you seeing something different? I, you know, maybe a
week or so ago, I would have agreed with.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
You on that thought that, you know, maybe he was
because he obviously had had more money and he'd been
putting out a lot more stuff on you know, the
social media platforms. But I think that interview with Kyle
Clark was a game changer. I don't think he understands
how bad it was. I think he thinks he did
really good there, and I don't think he understands how
bad it is. And I don't think he understands how
far that reaches. And it came at a bad time
(10:29):
for him. I mean, you're right, ball, let's go out
next week on the eighth, in that timeframe. And so
I feel the momentum with my campaign. I think again,
I think there'll be other outside dollars that are spent
in this campaign, you know, in this race, and I
think that will help tremendously, But that stuff starts reaching
farther and wider, and you know, I just go back
(10:51):
to look. I ran as a county commissioner five different
times and people said, yeah, we want you because we
know you do a good job. So I've won my
county several times. I've ran twice as a state senator
and I won both times there and the last time
I didn't even have an opponent in the general election,
and one overwhelmingly.
Speaker 3 (11:08):
And it's one of.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
The more populated, more voter get out the vote kind
of you know, district in the state, and so they
don't have that, neither Bottoms our Bars has that.
Speaker 1 (11:21):
So if somebody wants to helpen. Obviously, open door here.
You're welcome to come on every day if you'd like.
I say the same thing to the other candidates on
both sides as well, So take us up on that.
But if people want to look into your campaign, what's
that website?
Speaker 2 (11:35):
It's Kirkmeyer for Colorado dot com and I'm also on
social media platforms kirk Meyer at Kirkmeyer for Governor and
at Kirkmeyer for Colorado.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
Wonderful. Hey, appreciate the time today and look forward to
the next one.
Speaker 2 (11:48):
All right, Hey, thank you, Dan, appreciate you too, and
I'll take you up on that.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
Thanks, open door, open door, Yeah, thank you. That is
Senator Barb Kirkmeyer. You're on the Dan cap Plus Show.
Speaker 8 (12:03):
And now back to the Dankaplas Show, Podcast five six.
Speaker 1 (12:08):
Talk about the debate last night, which was unlike anything
anybody in Colorado has ever seen. Scott Bottoms will join
us in a second. Victor Marx was invited and declined.
So before Scott joins us, want to play some sound.
This is Scott last night, responding to Kyle Clark's question.
I believe it was about whether he would support Victor
(12:29):
Marx if Victor is the nominee.
Speaker 5 (12:32):
For any of you to have the chance to pull
off the upset in November's general election, you'll need to
unite Republicans and attract support from unaffiliated voters. But Scott
Bottomson Mark Kirkmeier, you have both said that you will
not support Victor Marx if he is your party's nominee
for governor. Mister Bottoms, you have described mister Marx as
a con man.
Speaker 7 (12:52):
That's pretty serious charge.
Speaker 5 (12:53):
Why don't you take one minute to explain why, and
then mister Marx will have one minute to respond.
Speaker 7 (12:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (12:58):
I stand by that, also that he was corrupt, and
I also said he lies, and he lied to me
personally quite a few times, And so I stand. But
I can't put somebody like that anymore than I can
put a Democrat into the governor seat. I'll support Senator Kirkmeyer.
We don't see eye to eye, but I don't think
she's corrupt. All of the allegations going on out there
(13:18):
to be, you got to be blind or naive or
something not to at least believe a handful of these
and so and I also have talked to people in
CIAFBI State Department. They've confirmed a lot of these things
to me personally. In fact, some of your reporters got
their information from me. And so the idea that I'm
going to support that I can't do. He conned my church,
(13:40):
I'm not okay with that, and I'm going to stand against.
Speaker 7 (13:43):
That one hundred percent.
Speaker 5 (13:44):
How specifically did he con your church?
Speaker 9 (13:46):
He came and told me that he rescued. The term
he used was rescued, not gave Teddy bears too, But
he rescued forty five thousand people in over one hundred situations,
thirty countries, and.
Speaker 1 (13:59):
That was a lot. Yeah, that was Scott Bottoms last night, gutsy.
I mean, stand there and level that somebody standing three
feet from you, Scott, Welcome back to the Dan Kapla Show.
Speaker 7 (14:10):
Yeah, sir, thank you.
Speaker 1 (14:11):
Yeah, but it would take us inside that moment. What
was it like? Because we all know politics as bare knuckles,
but you know there are a lot of keyboard warriors
out there, and when you're standing three feet away from
somebody and you look them in the eye and deliver that,
what was that moment like.
Speaker 7 (14:26):
Well, it wasn't any different than any other moment. It's
the fact that I always stand on what's true. I
don't spend things. I don't try to get votes that
hurt me. I'm sure with some people across the state
that I think he's all that. And when he does
not get through the primary and I do, I may
lose some votes there. But here's the thing with me
(14:47):
is I believe that we should be truthful, honest, and
it would be more politically expedient for me to say, oh, sure,
I'll support him, But I can't do that. The guy
has no character, integrity, and I have to stand on
what I know, the things that I know, and then
all of the stuff that other people had brought up,
(15:08):
all the information. I mean, come on, when when do
you open your eyes and say this isn't the guy.
This guy may even need to go to jail. When
when do we actually do something about all that? And
so that's what I said last night. I stand by it.
I stand by the fact that I can't I can't
support him.
Speaker 1 (15:28):
Well, it's kind I believe, and I may have missed
it in the past, but your statement just now that
he may have to go to jail, that's a really
serious thing to say.
Speaker 7 (15:37):
What supports that, Well, you look at all the stuff
where he's the things he's done with money his nonprofit,
buying his own house from him, with money that people
have donated to him for specific ministry stuff. The fact
that one of the numbers I saw is he raises
(15:58):
all these hundreds of thousands and hundreds of thousands of
dollars to send bibles across the world, and the best
that we can tell right now, maybe eleven percent of
that's actually spent on bibles. I mean, you go down
the list, thing after thing where he's telling these churches
that he has rescued these forty five thousand people, so
they give him big offerings. He makes about seven million
(16:19):
a year on the church. Eventually, somewhere this stuff is
going to come and bide him. Right now, there may
not be direct well I think there is, but may
not be direct evidence to say Kay needs to go
jail for this, Like how much corruption do you have
before eventually some of this stuff starts.
Speaker 1 (16:36):
Coming out, right, And I just want to clarify before
we move on to other things that you are not
seeing at this point that you believe he's committed crime
so that there's enough evidence to charge him with the crime, right,
You're not cross?
Speaker 7 (16:48):
I don't necessarily think that. I'm just saying you can't
keep piling up piles and piles of this stuff before
eventually it breaks down and you realize, oh, here's some
illegal stuff. Just being a com man.
Speaker 1 (17:02):
Why at this point, and by the way, Scott, we're
grateful you joined us even a little bit early, and
you're more than welcome to stay for the next segment
if you have time, and if you want to, so
we can talk about whatever issues you want to talk about.
But why at this point if he is the front runner,
I don't know if you think he is, But if
he is the front runner, why does he have that
much support?
Speaker 7 (17:20):
Then, well, he's not the front runner. He says he's
the front runner, but we actually have numbers, we know
what's going on. He might be just a little bit
ahead of Senator kirk Meyer, but that would be arguable.
But no, I'm the front runner so far out in
front of both of them. It's not not even the
same subject. And he said the same thing when we
(17:41):
went into assembly, that he that you know, I wasn't
even going to get through assembly. He was going to
run the tables and everything, and he barely got to assembly.
I beat him soundly. He caught a huge statistic points.
Speaker 1 (17:53):
Scott starting interrupted, Are you able to stay for another segment?
Speaker 7 (17:56):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (17:56):
Okay, great test Scott Bottom, So join us after the Breakay,
we'll ask Scott up those numbers he just referred to,
because there's been very little polling of that race, so
anxious to get any numbers we can. I'm Dan Kaplis,
Zach and for Ryan. You're on the Dan Kapla Show.
Speaker 8 (18:16):
You're listening to the Dan Kaplis Show podcast.
Speaker 1 (18:18):
What a day it's been. My goodness, what happened last night.
I don't think anybody in Colorado has ever seen anything
like it. Barb Kirkmeyer joined us earlier. Scott bottoms on
now Victor Marks invited and declined. So Scott, before the break,
you were mentioning that you had seen some numbers that
have you in the lead. Can you tell us more
about that?
Speaker 7 (18:39):
Yeah, that's uh, that's something that we do internally. We're
always watching those things. We don't we don't take polls
and publish those online. That's not that's not how I
look at it. And here here's part of the reason.
Whoever publishes the poll uh or puts it out is
the one who's winning. Nobody ever puts out a poll
(18:59):
that they're not winning in so uh and even if
it's a fake poll, we've seen that quite a bit
where the numbers are so bizarre off and there's no
metrics to it or anything. I don't pay attention to polls.
If you if you're if you're the person behind them,
you believe the polls. If you're not, you don't. And
that's the way it is for everybody. So we don't
really put a lot of infatus on polls and pushing that.
(19:21):
But we do a lot of metrics. We do a
lot of social media metrics. We're doing those every single week,
and uh, and we're getting our numbers. We know, we
know where we stand with everything, and that's enough. That's
enough for us, is that we know regardless of anybody
else knows this, we know we know where we are.
Speaker 1 (19:39):
And let me follow up on a few things last night.
One was, and forgive me, I don't have the exact
words in front of me, but you had mentioned I
think that you expect a couple of high profile Democrats
to be indicted over the course of the summer. Is
that right?
Speaker 7 (19:56):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (19:56):
Yeah, Wig can you tell us more about that.
Speaker 7 (20:00):
Terri State Griswold and Attorney General Wiser, this is this
is so. So there's two different things that are going on.
They I think they will be indicted by midsummer for
sedition treason. There's also a bunch of investigations going on
with attorneys Secretary of State Griswold having to do with
election integrity things. I don't think she'll be indicted over
(20:22):
those soon. I mean I may be wrong. It maybe
before the election. I don't think so. I'm talking to
general election. But but the others, Yeah, this is this
is information that we're that we're getting from all kinds
of spaces, federal and state people that have been saying
this for quite a while, that this has been the investigation.
(20:43):
In fact, I just recently had a conversation with one
of those that are more state people that are saying
this is this is.
Speaker 1 (20:50):
Coming down so and this is DOJ indicting federally for treason.
What would that charge be? But what would the specifics be?
Speaker 7 (20:59):
I don't know the specifics I've had. This is one
of the I know a lot more of specifics on
the other investigations. This is just people you know, kind
of whispering in my ear. Hey, this is happening, this
is coming down.
Speaker 1 (21:13):
Be ready for this, Scott Bottom's our guests. So what effect,
if any, do you think this, this gathering last night
has had on the race.
Speaker 7 (21:25):
Well, it was very entertaining to begin with. It was
I've never I've never seen anything quite like it. I mean,
Barb kirk Meyers stay center. Kirk Meer stayed pretty much
consistent with who she is. She's she's not denying this.
She she is over to the left of our Republican party.
She's she's right right up against the Democrats. If not
(21:46):
even this is my term.
Speaker 1 (21:48):
What would put her there? I don't think she would
agree with that, Scott, But what what in your mind
would put her there?
Speaker 7 (21:55):
Well, she she doesn't look a lot of the issues
the same way that she She keeps saying that the
budget is balanced. I don't believe it is. She keeps
saying that there is no deficit. She said that in
the Channel seven debate I think, and said there really
is no deficit. The next day, Governor Paulas came out
and said, we need three hundred million dollars here, five
hundred million dollars here to cover the deficit, so things
(22:17):
like that, where we are not on the same page
she is. She is pretty much the part of the system.
The same, the same old same. Oh, if she becomes governor,
we're not seeing any changes in the state. It's going
to stay just like it is. Uh. When I become governor,
I'm on the I'm on the very conservative side, and
I'm kicking the doors in and saying, hey, we're we're
(22:39):
going after stuff. We're going after corruption, We're going after pedophilia,
We're going after groom and we're going after these things.
And even last night she said that there that she
did not believe the saying that I did on Tina Peters.
I said I'd partner. She says she won't.
Speaker 2 (22:55):
Uh.
Speaker 7 (22:55):
I mean almost every single subject, she's on the left
and I'm on the right.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
Well maybe left of you. But let me ask you.
You've led us to I think something really important, which
is the ability of the nominee to win a generally.
And I thought one of your strongest moments last night
was when you talked about what your path to victory
in a general would be. Can you lay that out
(23:21):
for people? How? Because Colorado I think there are plenty
of people who are further left than you are, and
nobody would ever describe you as being left at all.
But what is that path to victory in a general.
Speaker 7 (23:33):
Well, here's the thing we're seeing. We saw this in
the Trump election, but we're seeing this even strong or
more demarketed in this state election cycle right here, is
that people across the state of Colorado are not okay
with where we've got. There's no metric in the state
of Colorado that is positive. They're looking for a leader.
(23:54):
People don't cross the aisle and vote Democrats, do not
cross the old vote for a Republican over potholes of
the economy. Those are major subjects, there's no doubt about that.
But people don't go across the island vote for those
because everybody's going to fix the roads, everybody's going to
fix the economy. Right The reason they're going to reach
across the island vote for me. As a handful of things,
(24:15):
One is I am a true leader. I do not compromise.
When I'm saying I'm going after corruption, I will not
stop until it is rooted out. When i say I'm
going after pedophile rings, I will never stop until that
is exposed and people are put in jail, and I
eighty five percent of the state right now is saying
they're not okay with boys and girls sports. Yeah, so
(24:36):
that's everybody, I think.
Speaker 1 (24:38):
And when I say yep, yep, what I'm referring to
is that last point you made about boys and girls' sports,
and I agree with you on that. I think that
issue has a power because it's so fundamentally wrong on
so many levels. That issue has the power to pull
people across party lines that I think President Trump showed
that on November four.
Speaker 7 (24:58):
Yes, most definitely, excuse me, he did. And here's part
of the deal with this is I'm the only person
saying this stuff. Nobody that's running for politics in any arena.
It seems like you're saying stuff I am. I run
these things as bills in the House, and I get vilified.
You know, you never got any bills passed or whatever,
(25:19):
because I'm running the things that are actually important to
the people of Colorado. And I'm getting Democrats on record
saying that they do not support women, they do not
support put in pedophiles in jail, they do not support
stopping this grooming and transgender ideology, and this includes senat
Kergmyer coming back to the left of the right. She's
(25:42):
made it very clear she's not going to stand for
any of these things. She says this in debate after
debate after debate that she thinks I'm over to the
right on these kind of things and election integrity, same thing.
She thinks, I'm way over to the right. And so
my response to she's way over to the left, I
think I'm middle and a common sense across the state.
(26:03):
But these metrics are showing us all across the state
that people are done, they're tired, and they are very
willing and ready to vote me in as governor. Even
Forbes Magazine said Colorado is no longer a blue state.
If we can get a strong Republican gubernatorial candidate, that
the people of Colorado will vote that in. And that's
(26:25):
who I am.
Speaker 1 (26:26):
How can people learn more about you? What is that website?
Speaker 7 (26:29):
Scottbottoms dot com.
Speaker 1 (26:31):
Okay, well, I really appreciate the time. One final question
because I'm trying to get to bottle this. The dog,
I mean, I thought it was absolutely brilliant to Victor
to bring a dog and have a dog up there
with him. But how did that happen? Because every debate
I've ever seen that there's a rule. Yeah, you can't
bring any proper anything up on stage with you.
Speaker 7 (26:51):
Well, that actually has to be careful. How to say this.
We watched there, so backstage before everything started, everybody's walking around,
you know, we're getting my cup and victors go on
to the bathroom getting my cups, walking around talking to people.
There was no dog. I looked in one of the
rooms and one of his guys was sitting in there
(27:11):
with the dog the entire time. And so all of
a sudden, when he gets to the to the to
the stage, there's the dog, and I'm thinking, where was
the whole the whole rest of the time. So, yeah,
it didn't seem to be And I'm not I'm not
attacking service animals or any of this stuff, but I
(27:36):
but don't use that as a prop. I'll tell you
something else that that bothered me a lot. I've been
a pastor since I was twenty that that that little
closing prayer at the end that he did that really
bothered me.
Speaker 1 (27:49):
And we have it, we have another forty seconds. Tell
us why it bothered you.
Speaker 7 (27:53):
Please don't use prayer, don't use God, don't use those
as manipulative tools, which is the con men that I
keep talking about. He uses those things as tools to
manipulate people. And I would never do that with prayer.
I would never do that with any of that. And
that man, that really just disappointed.
Speaker 1 (28:12):
Well, wow, I go back to what you said at
the beginning of our conversation, which is that it was
it was wildly entertaining. It was other than maybe one
of the Trump debates, that that was as much entertainment
as I've ever had in a debate. But and appreciate
you being with us today in Barb Victor decline. But
appreciate you being here.
Speaker 7 (28:32):
Yes, sir as always, thank you, It's an honor.
Speaker 1 (28:34):
Thank you. Scott, take care of that is Scott Bottoms.
Hey when we come back, trying to get to the
calls and get your take. So many great texts. You're
on the Dan Capla Show.
Speaker 8 (28:47):
And now back to the Dan Kaplis Show podcast.
Speaker 10 (28:58):
While it is a blessing to live in interesting times,
and not only was last night like something we've never
seen before, but wait for these next few weeks, right
because yeah, the ballot's drop next week but a lot
of people are just starting to tune in, and a
lot of the money is probably just starting to flow
down the stretch, including from the super packs.
Speaker 1 (29:17):
And then the big thing I've been talking about forever
here is the Left coming in like they always do,
almost always, with their big money to try to elect
the Republican candidate they think will be not only easiest
to beat, but they think they'll be able to use
to win races all the way down the ballot, including
the Attorney General's race that the GOP has a real
(29:40):
chance to win in this cycle. So it's going to
be an amazing three weeks. Let's go to the phone
lines and I'll get to the text. Mary, Thanks for
your patience here on the Dan Kapla show.
Speaker 11 (29:50):
Yes, good evening. I want to give you a laugh
to the end of the show.
Speaker 2 (29:54):
Yes.
Speaker 11 (29:54):
Think I've been watching Mark and what comes to mind
is he's trying to be Biden and Trump at the
same time. He hides when it's necessary, and when he
does speak, it's blah blah blah as loud as he
can say it. And uh, it's just an interest to
(30:15):
this hiding. It's very interesting, you know. I think he
learned something from Biden and learned something from the forcefulness
of Trump. He tries to be forceful.
Speaker 1 (30:28):
Thank you.
Speaker 11 (30:28):
I think he's I just I think he's nuts. But
I do think somebody said, let's try this hiding.
Speaker 1 (30:35):
Who are you going to vote for?
Speaker 11 (30:40):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (30:41):
Okay, Well that's that's fair and it's going to be
weeks to decide here, Mary, thank you very much for
that call. I want to get to just try to
work some text in here. Dan, you must come and
on around attacking Kuwaid highly provocative. I would be talking
(31:03):
about that more tomorrow, much more tomorrow. And the bigger
issue there, Dan, you're talking about Marx again. Talk about
Barb she's your guest. Wait a second, right now, the
biggest issue in this GOP primary is Victor Marx. And
if anybody decides to just choose to ignore that, I
(31:25):
can't understand why. You know, he's an outsider who's captured
the imagination of many. He's outraised even the Democrats in
the last quarter. They'll spend most of it and spent
a lot to raise it. It's still an accomplishment. Many
consider him to be the front runner, though nobody can
really be sure, because there isn't a lot of polling.
He is the major dynamic right now in that race.
(31:49):
So yeah, that's why we were talking about it. And
Barb wants to talk about it right because she's got
the points she wants to make.
Speaker 7 (31:57):
There.
Speaker 1 (32:00):
Let's see Dan Marx as zero interest in winning. He's
a grifter, con artist, he's just after campaign funds. Wait,
wait a second, though, I pose this question earlier, and listen,
I understand there are so many people I respect greatly
who believe that Victor Marx is a total fraud. And
then there are other people I respect, super intelligent people
(32:20):
and very successful in politics. They're backing Marx's campaign, including
some people who are donors historically at a big level.
And then obviously there are plenty of grassroots people backing
his campaign. So I understand the concerns out there, but
there appear to be an awful lot of people in
this primary right now who've concluded otherwise. I think that
(32:43):
has to sort out over the next few weeks. But
here's the point. Here's the point that I mentioned earlier.
If Victor Marx is a fraud, and that's you know,
that's a fair open question right now, if he is
a fraud, then why does he want to be the
GOP nominee for governor? Because the Democrats, who have all
(33:07):
the money in the world, are absolutely ruthless. If he
is a fraud, they will expose it in ways far
beyond anything GOP candidates would ever do or could ever
do in a primary. Right, So it's going to be
very interesting to see how that all plays out. You know,
(33:29):
if he is if he is the nominee, we know
how it's going to play out. Yeah, Democrats will have
unlimited money, unlimited investigative resources. They're absolutely ruthless, and if
he has problems, they will be fully exposed in a
general and he must know that, right Dan, I feel
Barb was very condescending, Bottoms reminding me of low energy
(33:51):
Jeb bush Mark seem very likable. I didn't think Barb
was condescending, and I'm sure would say Scott was low energy.
I thought Victor Marx had some good moments last night.
I thought it was brilliant of him to bring the dog.
I thought that was effective in its own way. You know,
(34:12):
he looks good up there. You know, he had some
good lines. And again though the vast majority of people
are going to vote in this primary will never see
that debate, and we'll never see the interview with Kyle Clark. Now,
depending upon how much money Super packs for Barb or
(34:34):
Scott or whatever have you know, maybe more people will
see it through spots, but how many people totally you
think are really going to see that debate or Kyle
Clark's interview with Victor Marx and people whose text I
didn't get to today, I will get to tomorrow because
it's evergreen, and so I will get to it tomorrow.
I know you put real time and effort into that,
(34:54):
and there are a lot, including challenging texts, that I
really want to dive into, So we'll do that tomorrow.
Do you want to thank Zach filling in for Ryan
who allegedly ad jury duty? Zach's suspicion as Ryan was
actually a defendant, we're joking about that. Of course he
was not, of course not, and we fully expect him
back on his great show tomorrow morning. I can't wait
(35:15):
to start the show tomorrow. I mean, this is so
interesting right now, There's going to be so much happening,
and is the Left coming into the GOP primary with
lots of money. If so, which candidate are they going
to back. We'll talk about that more tomorrow on The
Dan Kapla Show.
