Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is Dan Kaplis and welcome to today's online podcast
edition of The Dan Kapla Show. Please be sure to
give us a five star rating if you'd be so kind,
and to subscribe, download and listen to the show every
single day on your favorite podcast platform. Fight for the
American Way. As we see the severe weather move out
except our good friends in northeastern Colorado. Some pockets out

(00:22):
in Kiawa, one of the most beautiful places in the state.
A few scattered around, but going to be beautiful and sunny
in Denver effect it already is. Right Now, let's go
to the vip line and welcome Michael Doherty. He's the
DA Up and Boulder and he just received the Denver
Post endorsement to be the Democrat nominee in the Colorado
Attorney General's race. Michael, welcome back to the Dan Kapla Show.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
Good effenon, Dan and it's great to be back and
thanks for having me on.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
Well, it is my pleasure and first congratulations. What kind
of impact do you think this will have on the campaign?

Speaker 2 (00:57):
This endorsement from the demopos comes at the perfect time.
There's a strong boost in my campaign because the Denver
Post of course, is regarded as a objective media outlet
that looks closely at the track marked of each candidate
and what each cannidate will bring to the Attorney Terminal's office.
So to have their endorsement is a great, great boost
at the exact right time, because ballots are going out
this week. I'm also really exhetic because I just got

(01:18):
the endorsement from the Durango Heralds, the down in La
Platta County in southwestern Colorado. The Durango Heralds recognizes the
work I've done all throughout the state, and between those
two continue to come in. I think people recognize in
the importance of the next Attorney General having a proven
track record and being a fighter prosecutor and a leader
who's going to stand up for Colorado when it matters most,

(01:40):
whether it's enforcing antitrust and labor laws or public safety,
or standing up to the state of Colorado against the
White House.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
I'll always do with integrity and I'll win those sites.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
Well, I think you're sure right about the Denver Post
and the Democratic primary. You know, I'm probably the only
Republican who still subscribes to the Denver Post, but I
think it probably does carry, you know, quite a bit
of weight with Swiss Democrats and a bunch of unaffiliated
so yeah, wow, it'll be interesting to see. Do you
guys have any polling on the race at.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
This point, I have not done any pollings. I wasn't
sure it'd be worth the money and how reliable polls
would be. But I could tell from the momentum we
have right now and he who wasn't coming in that
we have a lot of support all throughout the state,
so including former US attorneys, district attorneys, sheriffs, and community
leaders all throughout the state of Colorado.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
Well, and I don't think Michael, among people playing attention
to the race, there's any question about your qualifications and
the fact that that you are a real prosecutors have
said often on the show. You know, I would really
like to have a Republican attorney general, you know, for
all the reasons we've discussed, but when it comes to you,
there can be no question that you're highly qualified and

(02:52):
you have what it takes to be attorney general of
this state, you know, as compared to Jenna Griswold, who
just and I guess the question for you is plus
on top of that is, Kusa pointed out she lied
when she claimed to have argued a case to the
US Supreme Court. So is that having an impact within

(03:13):
the Democratic Party because obviously she has the big name recognition,
she has the money. It was just kind of presumed
she would get this job if she wanted it. But
is that starting to fall apart.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
I do believe it's definitely having an impact.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
Yes. I also look at the.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
Show that Kyle Clark ran in which she reported that
Jenni Griswold has never once handled the case in court
in the state of Colorado.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
Now you're going picky, Now you're getting picky.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
No, I'm but I do think that has an impact,
especially given the challenging times of living through and people
recognize this isn't a race for a senator, governor, or
Secretary of States for the attorney general, pop lawyer, the
people's lawyer, the chief law enforcement officer for the state.
So experience as a lawyer and as a leader matters
a lot. And Dan just said about me, it means

(04:00):
a lot to make given your career.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
And I will say I.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
Believe I'm the only candidate certainly in this race. But
I believe in any race that has strong bipartisan support.
I have support from Republican distrittorneys and Republican sheriffs as
well as a ton of Democrats, because I will always
fight and do with integrity, never to get my face
on MSNBC, but always when it's the right thing to
do for Colorado.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
Well, I don't think there's any question that you're very
broadly respected, and you should be just based on your accomplishments.
We're going to have the things that you and I
disagree on, but yeah, no, you've walked the talk. What
I'm wondering about now, and the reason that I think
that you have a real chance to win this primary,
even against Griswold's big money and name ida and everything else,

(04:47):
is just the fact that I think attorney General is
different for the reasons you said, but also primal. I
think that we're all created with this powerful desire and
need to protect our families and to a certain extent,
to protect ourselves. So when you're then voting for the
state's chief law enforcement officer, you're going to want somebody

(05:10):
who's actually practiced law and practiced that kind of law.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
It would seem to me, Well, I certainly agree, and
I think public safety has suffered over the last few
years in the state of Colorado and it needs to
be a greater priority. And I promise you and your
listeners that under my leadership.

Speaker 4 (05:26):
It will be.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
That's why I've operated my entire career, It's why I
have such strong support from law enforcement, having been a
prosecutor and a leader at the Manhattan DIA's Office in
New York City, the head of the criminal Section of
the Attorney General's Office, and as the District Attorney for
Poulda County for.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
The last eight years.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
I'm always going to prioritize our community and fighting for
victims of crime. And that's the track record I have
and that's what I'll continue to do.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
You know, Michael Doherty our guest Democrat Kennedy candidate for
Attorney General endorsed by the Denver Post day. In the
post endorsement, the Post talked to about how you had
brought Boulders through three really challenging tragedies and would you
touch on that a little bit for people.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
Sure. So, I had the responsibility of leading the investigation
into the Marshall fire. I was the lead prosecutor on
the King Supers mass murder case. The mass murderer killed
ten wonderful people at King Supers that day, including Offster
Eric Tally, who made the ultimate sacrifice charging in so bravely.
And it's because of Roster Tally and the other officers
who charged into that store that none of the many,

(06:34):
many people hiding in the store were killed by the
mass murderer. He was looking through the store looking for
other people when the officers went in. And also Tally,
father of seven kids, lost his life serving others and
serving his community. And I had the honor of fighting
for justice in that case. I took that case to trial.
The defendant was sound guilty.

Speaker 3 (06:53):
Of all charges.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
And then, most recently, the Pearl Street fire bombing, which
happened just over a year ago on in first a
horrific attack on Pearl Street in Boulder, an anti Semitic
attack of terror and hate killed Karen Diamond, who is an.

Speaker 3 (07:09):
Eighty two year old woman.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
She's a beloved grandmother, mom, and wife, burned to death
by this guy and twenty eight other victims.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
I just secure life without the possibility.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
For all plus two one hundred and eighty two years
and stay prison for all the other victims because it
added to them that the sentences reflected justice. But to
your point, Dan also leading the community through that time
of crisis each time, and I think we're living through
a right now here in Colorado. And that's why I'm
running for Attorney General. I'm not term limited. I could

(07:42):
serve another six years as district at Journey, and it's
job that I love and I live ten minutes from
the courthouse. But I'm running for Attorney General because the
moment calls for an AG with real experience and leading
through times of crisis, fighting for the communities throughout Colorado
and in the right back.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
Well, there's no doubt you have been a as DA
and so the post endorsement well deserved and appreciate the
time today, I know it sounds really strange. Michael's always
signed off by saying, Hey, I think you're awesome, but
I hope you lose, right because because I really do
want the Republicans to win that attorney general spot, and

(08:20):
I think you would be much much harder to defeat
than Jennet Griswold. But but you would be a real
attorney general if you ended up getting elected, and the
States certainly needs that.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
Well, one thing I would suggest, and given everything you said,
is maybe you could say you hope I win the
primary if it's going to be If it's going to
be a Democratic attorney general, oh, I like you believe
it should be me.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
I would say that in a heartbeat, my friend, because
that is one thousand percent true. If somebody said to
me today, hey, you have to have a Democrat attorney general,
I would give money to your campaign and I'd ask
everybody I know to vote for you, because yeah, you
know you would. I know we have our policy diffferences,
and I really do think it's important of a Republican
attorney general. But I think you would be a very

(09:05):
good attorney general in many ways. And I think Jenna
Griswold would be an absolute disasters as some of her
former staff as have come out and said, I mean,
can you imagine having and I think one of her
former staff expressed this concern. I'll double check, but do
you even have to have the concern that the attorney
general might misuse the office for revenge? Didn't one of

(09:27):
her former staffers talk about that.

Speaker 2 (09:30):
When that's the concern that people who've worked with her
before particulate. I think people across Colorado should pay attention.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
Yeah, the Attorney.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
General's office plays such an active role in civil rights,
public safety, consumer protection.

Speaker 5 (09:44):
The list goes on.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
The Attorney General has to be someone who has approven
track record and works and leads with integrity, especially when
you consider the AG's office the.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
Largest loss of the state of color.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
Out of there are seven hundred and twenty four public
servants who choose to work there instead of making more
money in private practice. But it's only if they believe
in the leadership commission of the office. As I continue
and as Attorney General, I'm going to rely on my
experience as a prosecutor and leader from just all the
places I've worked to make sure that I bring in great,
great people to.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
Fight on behalf of all the communities across Colorado.

Speaker 1 (10:16):
Well, there's no question that you are a person of integrity.
You're known for that, I think across party lines. And again,
congrats on the endorsement and look forward to the next conversation.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
Dan, Thank you so much, And I encourage people to
vote June thirtieth as the primary. They can find out
a mission about me online. I'm always going to respond
to every email I get as well, and just know
how much I appreciate you and your kind words and
have me on again. So thank you and I hope
you have a great day.

Speaker 1 (10:40):
Thank you, Michael. You two you take care of that
is on Michael Doherty, DEM candidate for attorney general, speaking
of which Michael Allen, who I was referring to when
when Michael Doherty and I were speaking Michael Allen, who
will be the GOP candidate for attorney General. I have
no doubt, you know, is all of those things. I
just describe Michael Doherty as you know, I think there

(11:04):
mirror images in terms of, you know, being kind of
giants at what they do with and respected across party lines.
I just think this state would greatly benefit from a
Republican attorney general as as a check and balance and
in many other ways. But both of those men really superior.
And Michael Allen endorsed by the Denver Post as well

(11:26):
for the GOP nomination for attorney general. You're on the
Dan Capla Show.

Speaker 6 (11:35):
And now back to the Dan Kapla Show podcast.

Speaker 1 (11:39):
Floating around different parts of Colorado. If you're in the
middle of something real bad, maybe some big hal let
us know so we can warn others away from that
three or three seven one three eight two five five
d A N five seven seventy nine. I go to
the phones quickly. Thank you to Michael Doherty, the Boulder
DA who joined us in the last segment talking about
the Denver Post endorsement that he received day. And it's

(12:02):
always odd, Ryan, at least for me. Maybe you're comfortable
with said, it's always odd for me to end an
interview by saying, Hey, really hope you lose. Love you
really hope you lose. But I'm just always honest. The
show should be called brutally honest. And he would be
so much harder for a Republican to beat in that
Attorney General's race. And I want a Republican to win
that race. I want Michael Allen to win that race.

Speaker 6 (12:23):
Right there with you everything you just said. What I
will say is this, though, if it took a Michael
Doherty winning to prevent Jenna Griswold from being in that office,
for which she would be an abject failure and complete disaster, brother,
I'm gonna take it. And I'll tell you what I
used to be. Not a Democrat, but a persuadable. I
voted for Democrats in the past, I make this submission off,

(12:45):
and I voted for Obama O eight. So the last
Democrat I'll ever vote for I think I voted for
Bill Clinton back in the nineties, and again I was
kind of in the middle, and the Overton window passed
me by. In this instance, A Doherty would have been
the type of Democrat I voted for in the past.
He's credible, he's relevant, he's achieved, he's accomplished, he gets
the endorsement as you mentioned in the Denver post. He's solid,

(13:05):
he knows the law. I think his credential stack up
as well as anybody's. And you're right, he will be
a formidable opponent for Michael Allen in the general if
that were to be the matchup.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
Yeah, And he and Michael Allen are mirror images. I mean,
they're tense when it comes to law enforcement, and then
a true attorney general. I just think, and it goes
to this text says Dan, too bad, you can ever
support the best candidate instead of dividing everything by party. Wait,
a second party makes a difference in this situation, in
this particular race, and it certainly makes a difference. If

(13:37):
somebody's being true to the ideology of their party, that
makes a difference, not just for the sake of party.
Do you really think? Do you really think, after all
the blessings I've had, I'm going to throw them away
and just kind of, you know, insult all the good
fortune I've been given by saying, oh, yeah, I'm going

(13:58):
to choose to be a person or of a political party.
That's going to be my identity. I'm going to be
a Republican. I'm going to build my own jail cell,
and I'm going to be locked in a Republican jail cell.
What do you think I am a friggin idiot? I mean,
who in their right mind, what self respecting man or
woman would decide that all of the sudden, They're going

(14:18):
to be a robot for some political party. What a
sad and pathetic life that would be? If I couldn't
come on air here and criticize the Republican Party, criticize people,
you know, within the Republican Party, I should take away
the microphone, you know, I'd just be a waste of space.
And that has not been my history. I've proven that. Shoot,
I left one political party to go to the GOP,

(14:41):
and it wasn't because the GOP brand was so popular.
And guess what, and I hate to say it because
I'm a Republican, but GOP we're not exactly known as
the cool kids, you know what I mean? So no, No,
The reason it's very very important we have a Republican
Attorney general, assuming merit and qualification, which we certainly have
in Michael Allen, is because of the approach to the office,

(15:06):
because of checks and balances, because it would do so
much more to try to stabilize this state and slow down,
you know, the lefty takeover of this state and start
to turn it around. And that attorney general position can
be so critical. We may have a lefty president next

(15:26):
and that attorney general could be very very important if
it's a Republican attorney general to hopefully serve as a
little bit of a check on a crazy lefty president.
Hopefully we don't get a crazy lefty president, and then
this state would benefit from having a much stronger GOP.
We're going to have a much stronger GOP when we
have a face of the GOP. We will not have

(15:47):
a face of the Colorado Republican Party until a Republican
wins a statewide race, I'd love it to be governor.
Maybe that happens here. I'd love it to be senator,
Maybe it happens here. Those are big, uphill battles. We
have a realist a chance to win the attorney general's
office if Jenna Griswold is the candidate. Now, others may
disagree Ryan and say, hey, we've got a realistic chance

(16:09):
to win the attorney general's office. Even if Michael Doherty's
their candidate. Maybe they'll be proven right. I just think
Michael Doherty would be much much harder to beat than
Jenna Griswold. Again, it comes back to what I was
telling Michael last time, is I believe we are created.
It's primal with this powerful desire to protect our family

(16:31):
and to protect ourselves. And so when it comes to
voting for a protective office like the top law enforcement
officer in the state, even a bunch of Democrats, let
alone unaffiliateds, I believe are going to say I don't
want a person in that office who's never been in
law enforcement, never been a prosecutor, never really practiced law.

(16:51):
And it is just some hyperpartisan politico trying to climb
the ladder.

Speaker 7 (16:56):
It's self preservation, it's self protection. That's why I think
Griswold would be infinitely easier to beat in a general.
Plus on top of that, she's Jenna Griswold, right.

Speaker 6 (17:09):
Do you think? And I have my own answer for this,
based on a previous endorsement that the Denver Posts did,
that the Denver Posts would endorse Michael Allen over Jenna
Griswold for that office.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
Ag. Yeah, yeah, not a surprise, right, but they would, right.

Speaker 6 (17:24):
Well, they just Pam Anderson over Jenna Griswold for Secretary
of State.

Speaker 1 (17:27):
Oh, I'm sorry, I was thinking ahead in.

Speaker 6 (17:31):
A general Michael Allen in the general.

Speaker 1 (17:33):
If it's Griswold versus Allen, the Post is going to
endorse Allan.

Speaker 6 (17:36):
I believe that too.

Speaker 1 (17:36):
Yeah, I don't think there's any doubt, right, call Clark,
I don't think there is any doubt.

Speaker 6 (17:42):
What's the will give Michael Allen a fair shake on
that matchup? Off what happens?

Speaker 8 (17:46):
So the way that they the way those moderators in
the KUSA debate went totally soft for the Democrats and
actually became human shields for the Democrats, tecting the Democrat
candidates hiding their horrible record, hiding their failures in office.

Speaker 1 (18:05):
That was a disgrace, that was a disservice to the state.
You're on the Dan Caplas Show.

Speaker 6 (18:15):
You're listening to the Dankaplis Show podcast.

Speaker 1 (18:19):
Denver, Colorado. After some severe weather came through other parts
of the states. Still facing it, so please do stay safe.
Let's go to Troy and Falcon. You're on the Dan
Capla Show. Hey, Troy, how's the weather down there? So far?

Speaker 5 (18:33):
So good?

Speaker 1 (18:33):
Good?

Speaker 6 (18:33):
Good.

Speaker 4 (18:34):
So Yer to bring the family in northeastern Colorado because
it's fucking brutal.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
Yeah, there's been some rough stuff up there. And hey, man,
you were calling about election fraud. What are you thinking?

Speaker 4 (18:50):
So, Dan, I've been working with you for going on
forty years, and when you're coaching kids, then you get
you get beat by a better team and the kids
are crying and saying, oh, they cheated. No, they didn't cheat,

(19:10):
They just learned how to play the game better.

Speaker 2 (19:13):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (19:14):
Attention to what Steve Hilton is doing in California. Yeah,
so Steve is out there and he's taking the Democrat
playbook and turning them upside down on them. So he's
out there. Uh, he's doing ballot harvesting everything that the
Democrats are doing. So I agree with you. You know,

(19:37):
when you say there was an election fraud, I don't
agree that it was fraud.

Speaker 5 (19:43):
They just learned how.

Speaker 4 (19:43):
To play the game better. What are your.

Speaker 1 (19:45):
Thoughts, Well, it's interesting you have a lot of Republicans
seeing that now locally and nationally that that Wait a second.
You know, GOP has been against ballot harvesting, but to
the extent it's legal, we need to go do it ourselves.
I agree with you completely that the other concern I
have listened. I understand there are lots of fair and
valid questions coming out of the twenty twenty election, and

(20:09):
I wish those questions had been fully answered. I'm not
saying the answer would have proven fraud, but I wish
they've been fully answered. But what concerns me is a
we never saw a proof that twenty twenty election was stolen.
B I think we still have a lot of Republicans
who don't vote because they figure it's a waste of
time because the election is going to be stolen anyway.
So I think that year continues to hurt us at

(20:32):
the ballot box.

Speaker 4 (20:34):
Oh, I agree, I totally agree. So I'm a the
group of the majority in the state of the Unathoid.
So you know, when we talk about what happened in
the stolen election, what happened was in Pennsylvania. The Supreme
Court in Pennsylvania allowed the rule changes to go into place,

(21:00):
basically violated the Constitution. Yeah, it was a stage supreme
court that allowed that. So was it fair? No, it
wasn't fair. But was it legal?

Speaker 5 (21:11):
Ques, Well, so that would have to be you know.

Speaker 4 (21:14):
You're the prosecutor or the defense, you know, whatever side
you want to pick. But yeah, when the law is written,
the law, the law is the law until it's contested.

Speaker 5 (21:26):
And yeah, through the process. Yeah, so you got to
you got to play the game. You got to learn
how to.

Speaker 4 (21:30):
Play the whole game.

Speaker 5 (21:32):
Don't pay checkers, play chat.

Speaker 1 (21:34):
Yeah. Really appreciate that call, Troy and leading us to
the point that, listen, there are a lot of different
ways to rig elections, and the focus is on hey,
we're you know, bellot's just manufactured in twenty twenty. I
understand the concerns, but I haven't seen the proof of
that on the scale that would have made a difference.
On the other hand, was the twenty twenty election rigged

(21:55):
in a different way other than ballot irregularities. Clearly it
was when the meat you got together and shut down
the very true story about Hunter Biden's laptop and about
all that Biden corruption. That's another way of rigging an election.
And there's no doubt that happened in twenty twenty. Troy
just talked about, you know how how because remember we

(22:16):
were coming through COVID and everything else. How all of
a sudden you had these other states changing rules, you know,
to allow melon balloting in states where they hadn't done
it before, and then procedurally yet a bunch of because
so there's all sorts of stuff going on. All I'm
saying is I'm concerned. We still have some Republicans not
even voting because they're worried the election will just be

(22:37):
stolen anyway. And that's just that's just shooting ourselves in
the foot. Three oh three seven, one, three eight two
five five the number Hey want to get to some
text here, Ryan's gonna have the last fifteen minutes of
the show as I go to a family event. Uh Dan,
I'm afraid Kyleruder you're dreaming about no longer exists. Not

(22:57):
sure what our friends referring to there, But what I
would tell you is, if she's right, so what the
point is to make it the way it should be?
And that doesn't mean we just give up and say
it's always got to be the way it is now
it doesn't. And if it stays the way it is now,
we're going to have ourselves to blame, you know for that.

(23:19):
I understand it's a tough fight, but I think the
people who fought the American Revolution had a pretty tough fight.
Lots of people in American history have had tough fights.
Our job is to fight and win tough fights. Dan,
did you ever answer the question about if Trump talked
to your wife as a reporter like you talk to
other reporters and journalists, please do I could tell you listen,

(23:41):
if anybody talked to my wife that way and called
my wife crooked and dishonest and everything else, anybody, you know,
I would do everything in my power to make sure
it was the last time they did. It's just a
guy standing up for his wife. That's not referring to

(24:03):
President Trump. So so no, if anybody did anything like that,
to my wife, I would be extremely upset about it,
and within the bounds of the law, I would do
everything I could to make sure that never happened again. Now,
starting point is, my wife would never treat any president,
whether she liked or or extremely disliked that president. She

(24:27):
would never never treat any president that way, the way
that Kristen Welker treated Trump. She would never treat anybody
that way. Kristin Welker, like most of the press, has
been extraordinarily abusive to Trump. They have aided and abetted
wrongful prosecutions of him. They have aided and abetted and

(24:47):
cheered perverse law fair designed to make him die broke
in jail. And so yeah, my wife conducted herself with
utmost integrity as as a main anchor in Denver. Hey,
she's a Democrat. But when John McCain's camp called up
and said the Senator would like you to host a
town hall, firm she went out and she hosted the

(25:09):
town hall form you know, respect for the process, respect
for what McCain had done.

Speaker 4 (25:15):
No, she.

Speaker 1 (25:17):
Was a journalist of great integrity. And it's really sad
what not all but a lot of these journalists have
turned into Ryan, look at that Democrat debate in Denver.
The same moderators who had grilled, absolutely grilled the Republicans,
you know, like fish on a barbecue, went completely soft

(25:38):
on the Democrat candidates. Protected them, hid their true positions
on the big issues of the day, protected them from
their many failures in office, didn't even ask about them. Yeah. So,
at a time America needs real journalists, there are still
a hand handful out there, and some of those journalists

(26:01):
who do continue to function as true journalists are left
leaning and some lean to the right. I don't think
anybody's truly down the middle, but most journalists right now
are just an extension of the Democratic Party in America
needs better than that. Dan. Hey, it's Alex from a
few weeks ago. Congratulations to your son. Remember you said
I should be a radio host. Any chance you are hiring,

(26:23):
we'll get Alex on air. Ryan, How do we can
you do? We have enough information air for you to I.

Speaker 6 (26:30):
Can shoot him a text based on the number that
he sent it front just give him my email or
myself and him get a hold of me. Okay, I'll
do that.

Speaker 1 (26:36):
I don't remember the details. I just remember Alex was
really good. Do you remember the details.

Speaker 6 (26:41):
If I recall he was a younger guy, maybe about
Joe's age, right, yeah, but.

Speaker 1 (26:45):
What was it about him on air that I didn't
tell him he should have my job?

Speaker 6 (26:50):
He was very well informed and asking very good questions
of you. Is that re called?

Speaker 1 (26:54):
Yeah? Yeah, no, let's get him on air. Okay, let's
get him on air. And some of the great talents
on air have started a listeners and callers. Yes, yeah, In.

Speaker 6 (27:03):
Fact, I believe that was the story with the great
one Mark Levin. He was a regular leader and gawler
into Sean Hannity Lou from Lyttleton.

Speaker 1 (27:09):
Another one, yeah, longtime great Reggie what was Reggie's last name?
Started as a caller and ended up posting a show.
He was a great hostel god rest is solely passed
away young. Yeah. So yeah, all right, well, hey, I'm
heading off to a family thing for the kids. Ryan
is taking over for the last fifteen minutes and godden management, Willie,
I'll catch you tomorrow. So you finally got what you've

(27:31):
been waiting for. Ryan Shoeling boy on the Dan Caplain Okay, and.

Speaker 6 (27:40):
Now back to the Dan Kapla Show podcast. Family obligation.
I am happy to serve when called upon him. That
is the case. Right me out. And you can also
listen daily to my program. I wake up much earlier
than I should, and actually I'm on the air before
I'm awake most mornings. If I aim being completely bluntly
honest with you, six am to ten am in the

(28:01):
Mountain time zone. Ryan Schuling Live is the program. It
originates out of Denver on six point thirty k how
but if you're in Fort Collins, if you're in Pueblo,
we want to hear from you. We'd love you to
tune in and listen, and you can do that if
you can't get the over the air signal on the
iHeartRadio app. So let's go down the stretch, shall we.
My apologies to Alex. Before the break, Dan read a

(28:21):
text from Alex and say, hey, it's Alex from a
few weeks ago, and congratulations to your son. Now I'll
say it, Dan seems remiss and mentioning this very specific detail.
Joe Kaplis, his son graduated from Harvard Law. Folks Harvard Law.
We're talking Alan Dershowitz, the professor. We're talking Ted Cruz,
head of the class that draws the ire of Michael Bennett.

(28:43):
We ted Cruiz, he's over there stealing all our water, okay,
and the phil Wiser you'll know what to do about it.
If Michael Bennett becomes governor, a part of me will
enjoy the sheer comedy of it, because I'll get to
do that impression and I'll no doubt develop a bit
uh making fun, good fun, light hearted fun of the

(29:03):
next governor. And I think odds are that he would
be the betting favorite. I am not rooting for this,
Please don't mistake me. But back to Alex, Alex says,
remember you said I should be a radio host. Any
chance you are hiring smiley face emoji? And I tried
to remember because there was a young caller, and now
that I think about it, obviously it was not Alex,

(29:24):
because Alex texted and says Dan, I'm a girl twenty five.
So Alex, I have sent you a text from our
five seven, seven thirty nine line. I will send you
a text from my personal cell and I'll give you
the contact info as Dan has requested that I do
both email and phones, so you're getting all that come
in your way. We'd like to invite you in to

(29:47):
come and be part of the program live in studio,
and I don't think I'm out of line offering that
invite on behalf of Dan and yours. Truly, we'd love
to have you here, so Alex, thanks for reaching out
and we look forward to having you visit Dan. Your
wife would ask intelligent journalistic questions like many reporters have
with Trump, and you'd be ticked off if someone told
her quiet, biggie. We heard from Carly, who I'm not

(30:11):
gonna lie. Yeah, if not my favorite, she's up in
the top two. Carly and Hyland's Ranch who said she
enjoyed that President Trump. We walked out of that interview
with Kristen Welker. What I will say on behalf of
the president in defense of the President, nobody, and I
mean nobody has conducted more interviews with hostile members of

(30:31):
the media ever than Donald Trump. And that includes Ronald Reagan,
the great communicator. Reagan didn't sit down for a lot
of one.

Speaker 1 (30:38):
On one interviews. If you'll recall, he.

Speaker 6 (30:40):
Gave press conferences, he gave speeches, he gave great speeches.
He was a tremendous orator. He's my favorite all time president.
I just rewatched Reagan, starring Dennis Quay, and I guess
that's coming back to theaters and coinciding with America two fifty.
It's a tremendous film. It's one of those two if
you look on Rotten Tomatoes gets terrible reviews from the critics,

(31:01):
but audiences loved it. The pop cornometer on the Tomatoes
round Tomato site it's off the charts. But of course
the liberal critics hated. If you want a conservative film critic,
well you're going to look very hard because the only
one you're gonna find is my pal, Christian Tooto hollywoodintoto
dot com. I'm another cheap plug for the show. Tune
in for the Right Side of Hollywood Fridays nine am

(31:22):
to ten am with mister Toto and Deborah Flora, Award
winning filmmaker in her own right. She and her husband
Jonathan I call them hashtag life goals. I aspire to
be them and they're both tremendous people and she's remarkable.
On that program too, we take tackle things in pop
culture from the right side of the political spectrum. Dan,

(31:43):
I don't believe for one minute that the elections aren't rigged,
especially in Colorado. I'm fed up moving to Florida. Can't
blame you. Love Florida, been there many times. I escaped
to Florida many times during COVID because it was the
Free State of Florida. And you guys, most of you
know that have been listening for some time. What a
big fan I am of Governor Ron De Santis down there,
and I don't know about his political future. I'm on board.

(32:07):
If Jade Vance is the presumptive nominee in twenty twenty eight,
he will have my support. I am a big fan
of Little Marco and have been for years. That was
my guy originally in the twenty sixteen primer. I know
he was for Dan as well. I viewed him as
the Cuban Kennedy, a guy that could bridge the divide
both in terms of culturally ethnically from a language standpoint,

(32:28):
flew in Spanish, obviously a Cuban American, first generation American
like yours, truly on my mom's side. I think Little
Marco would be very difficult to beat, and Hillary Clinton
felt the same way. That's who they were appo planning
for back in twenty sixteen, the candidate that the Clinton campaign,
Hillary Clinton Campaign, I'm with her, I'm not with her.
The one they feared the most was little Marco, Senator

(32:52):
Marco Rubu and now the Secretary of stand He has
shined in that role. And I think for a lot
of us, maybe a lot of you out there, he
may have overtaken eighty vans as your preferred candidate. Boy,
that is going to be some primary. If DeSantis throws
his hat in the ring again, big fan of his,
it's an embarrassment of riches. Dan talks about it off
in the bench on the Republican side, very deep, high quality.

(33:13):
Name me a Democrat on the other side that compares that.
There isn't one. They might have one in Governor Shapiro
in Pennsylvania, but the Democratic Party's not going to nominate
him because he's Jewish, and that's a problem. For some reason,
this text says, I love Marco. Yes, he's very lovable,
he's endearing, a big fan, and I think I'd be

(33:34):
bust Bett would be a vance Rubio ticket. Wow. Good
luck to the Democrats on that one. Not good luck.
Let me see, Dan, I'm afraid of the Colorado you
are dreaming about no longer exists. It's there, though, you know,
it's just out of our reach and you can't grab it.
I think that's from a song too, trying to think
about it. Yeah, once again, I appreciate all of you

(33:56):
texting into the program. Listening to the Dan Kaplis Show
here on daily between four and six pm. You can
catch the podcast you missed any part of today's program,
including an interview with Michael Doherty, an actual sane Democrat
Boulder County DA running for Attorney General in the primary
against Jenny Griswold, who is wholly unqualified. Will Doherty win
now that he's got the Denver Post endorsement, We shall see.

(34:19):
Tune and once again, the Dan Camp will show tomorrow
right here on your favorite radio station.
