This episode of the Dan Caplis Show is a wild ride, covering everything from the current state of the GOP primary in Colorado to the Democratic Party's shift towards socialism, and even a litter of adorable kittens that the host, Dan, found under his patio. But don't worry, it's not all serious business - the conversation also touches on the importance of soccer, the challenges of being a pet owner, and the host's personal life, including his marriage and his wife's politics.

The episode starts with Dan discussing the current state of the GOP primary in Colorado, where Victor Marx is likely to be the winner, but the outcome is still uncertain due to the number of uncounted ballots. He also talks about the possibility of President Trump campaigning in Colorado this fall and how it could impact the GOP candidates. Meanwhile, the host is dealing with a more pressing issue - a litter of kittens that he found under his patio, and he's seeking advice from his listeners on what to do with them.

Dan also shares some interesting insights on the Democratic Party's shift towards socialism, and how it could impact the GOP's chances of winning in Colorado. He notes that the party's move towards socialism is a major issue that could flip some Democrats to the GOP side. Additionally, he talks about the importance of soccer and how the US could improve its performance in the sport.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is Dan Caplis and welcome to today's online podcast
edition of The Dan Kaplis Show. Please be sure to
give us a five star rating if you'd be so kind,
and to subscribe, download and listen to the show every
single day on your favorite podcast platform. We are very blessed. Yeah,
we're talking about the current state of well the GOP
primary for governor in Colorado and then the DEM's now

(00:21):
going full throated socialist, and then a daily update on
all of that. Also, why isn't the US teran soccer?
We got thirty times the people of Belgium and we
get absolutely trounce. Last night I got some great texts
coming in on that talking about that this current huge
rating forest fire doing so much damage outside of Pueblo,

(00:42):
the Aspen Acres fire now ninety four thousand acres. Now
we're talking about the state of Colorado forest with all
the pine beetle kill and overgrowth and everything else. And
my goodness, what should we be doing better, if anything,
to try to knock these forest fires out early? So
many are started by lightning. You know, even Smoky the
Bear can't stop that. What do we need to do

(01:04):
to knock them out early? I just realized in the
middle all of that, Zach, that I forgot to deliver
on a tease earlier. And I hate it when hosts
do that, especially me. But I'd ask Zack Seegers behind
the glass doing a tremendous John. But as Zach, all right,
let's say you take one of these big, beautiful Colorado
pine trees, and we all know you have many different
varieties of those. They're all beautiful unless the beetles got them.

(01:25):
And then you've got a snowfall, and you've got the
beautiful snow on the beautiful branches of the beautiful trees.
How much of that water evaporates before it gets to
the ground, before it gets into Colorado's water supply. I'm
going to guess fifty by you are sharp, my young friend,
forty five percent, not too far off. What percentage of

(01:46):
an aspen, because we see Colorado's aspen population being severely
harmed now by the overgrowth of force. What percentage of
the water the snow that falls on an aspen ends
up making it to the ground.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
Oh, it's got to be eighty percent or something.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
Almost all of it, almost all of it. Yeah, I'd
have to imagine yeah, so it doesn't get talked about much.
It's not that sexy, but it's a it's a really
big issue. Are for us three oh three seveone three eight, two, five, five, five, seven,
seven three nine. I do need your advice and moments
like this. I just kind of turned to the folks
in our audience and it takes a village, right, and

(02:22):
I'd always get some good wisdom, but have not had
this one before. Woke up this morning and we've got
a litter of kittens under our porch. What do I
do with them? It doesn't look like there's a mom around,
and it's not like just under the wood porch. It's
you know, I've got this this concrete ish patio and

(02:43):
then there's kind of a hole under there that some
bunnies were using for generations of bunnies. And we didn't
have the heart to do away with the bunnies, and
now it's been taken over and over by a litter
of kittens. No mom in sight. What do I do? Oh?

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Man, I think you gotta maybe adoft some kittens.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
You know, it's one possible. They're really good looking kittens.
I'll show you the video. Really good looking kittens. But yeah,
so what do you do about that? All right, let's
go to the phone lines. When we finished the last hour,
Dick Wadum's showing us in the last hour, and I'm
taking some great text you know, about all these different issues,
and Kevin had texted in to say, hey, our candidates

(03:25):
are never going to win because the elections are rigged.
And I ended the hour by saying, that's a loser's mentality.
Losers make excuses, Winners find a way to win. We're
not losing these elections because they're being stolen. We're losing
these elections for other reasons, and we better be honest
about that or we're not gonna start winning. Let's go
back to the phone lines. We'll go to Las Vegas,

(03:46):
New Mexico, to start with Charles here on the dan
Kapla show.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
Welcome, Hello and own the kittens. I think if they're
not weaned, they should be left alone. I think the
mother's probably serving them them at night. I once took
a litter in prematurely to the god bless the Denver
Dumb Friends League years ago, that I had found digging
a swimming pool, and they said, you know, there's really

(04:12):
nothing to worry about. If they're not weaned, the mother
is very very likely servicing them. Uh so, I I
but I am yeah, so, uh what if?

Speaker 1 (04:22):
What if the mother? What if they have been weaned
and the mother is now gone. Because my sister in
Chicago knows everything about cats, looked at the video and said,
I think the mom's gone. What do I do?

Speaker 3 (04:32):
Then at the end, they're they're not weaned, or they
are weaned.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
They are weaned. So if I understand their term right, listen,
I grew up in the city right, not on a farm.
But if I understand the term, it means they're they're
done being fed by their mom, and mom has now
hit the brick.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
Yes, it may be time to gather them all together
into a nice fluffy box with a towel and and
go to a great place like the Denver Friends League.

Speaker 4 (04:57):
That place is unbelievable. I won't go into that.

Speaker 3 (04:59):
But man, I they called me and told me about
all those kittens were adopted out within weeks.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
Wow, I just can't say enough about the d d F.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
But uh, yeah, maybe I put them in a box,
bring them to the station and sell them. What Maybe
I put them in a box, bring him to Ieheart
and sell them. Zach, you'd buy one, right.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
Oh, yeah, I could.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
I could add a cat for you. Hate to the.

Speaker 4 (05:24):
Ladies around now.

Speaker 5 (05:25):
I don't know about an apartment, but a house for sure.

Speaker 4 (05:27):
They're good to have around.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
Outside the house, they keep a patrol on everything, barmits
and rodents. Yeah, but goodness, it's so it's so hard
to call you and stick the message because you're just so.

Speaker 1 (05:40):
So many good topics.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
We just pray for the kittens, and hey, the fire
is raining down there. It's that.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
Oh I'm so glad to hear that, so glad to
hear that.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
I hope, I hope that will make a difference.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
Uh, it will.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
But uh, I was calling in to talk about I
think Trump's got his powder dry. He hasn't been to Colorado.
I'm just an observer now, but he hasn't been to
Colorado since October twenty four, and I think he micro manages.
So I think he's keeping up with everything. And don't
I respect mister Wadhams, but I don't think he's going
to let a representative Hurd and Evans fall off a cliff.

(06:19):
In other words, I feel that Trump will show up
and he will get down the business supporting the Republican candidates.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
Well, hey, Charles, I agree completely that the president would
be willing to do that. But do you think that
Gabe and Jeff will want him in Colorado or ask
him to support from a distance.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
I think that if he brings the purse, and here's
the purse. We don't have the full reason of why
Peters is, I'll just call it on the loose. We
may get breaking news this fall. The Appellate Court of
Colorado was supporting her release. There may be some federal oversight.
In other words, there could be some I'm not saying

(07:04):
that she is not should not have been in trouble,
but there could be more come out concerning that case.
The Shoshone headwaters that were announced last month has really
not been a sort of put out there in the media,
and Trump could come and do something like announce.

Speaker 6 (07:22):
A new reservoir for.

Speaker 3 (07:23):
Western Colorado Ski resort.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
Interesting. Charles appreciate the call. Charle's always thinking outside the box,
which we very much appreciate. Let's go up to beautiful Boulder, Kevin.
You're on the dan Kapla show. Boulders getting hit by
some of this pine beetles stuff up and down the
front range. We had it in the central mountains right,
you know through you know, twelve thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, but
now it's hitting the front range. Kevin, welcome to the show.

Speaker 5 (07:48):
I mean, did you find I've.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
Seen two at this point, but I know there have
to be more.

Speaker 5 (07:56):
Okay, well, can you guess about how old are see?

Speaker 1 (08:01):
I can't. I'm going to feed it into chat. I
send it to my sister who knows all things cat,
and she just sent back that that she thinks the
mom's gone. They're not like the little bitty newborn kittens.

Speaker 5 (08:14):
Okay, well I have ten cats. They're all rexhews, and
they're all they're all fixed. You should call the dun
Prince League in Denver, the experts in knowing what to
do and when you when they're old enough, you should
get them fixed because they can have babies at the
three munch Wow and they say there are five million

(08:36):
homeless cats and only alone.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
May I ask a question on everybody's mind now, Kevin,
and grateful for your call. How do you heard ten cats?
That's where the expression comes from, hurting cats. How do
you heard ten cats? In your house.

Speaker 5 (08:53):
Well, they're there, they don't go outside because I don't
want them to get hurt, and they're fine with it.
And you know, they have a little stats. But rest
they're all rescues and I had them all fixed, and

(09:14):
you know, a holder will get catch fixed or get
them to the vet. I spent five thousand dollars on
the one. Now my dad alone because she got hit
by a car. Oh man, But yeah, you just manage
and you get them to the vet when they need to.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
Wow, Kevin, Amen, God love you. Literally thank Kevin A
Boulder ten cats. That's pretty cool. Three out three seven
five an five seven seven three. Now we'll get back
to our other callers. And again, I also want to
talk some more about this hoa now trying to force
a guy to take down his American flag. And we've

(09:54):
got this this weirdness from Sonny hosting on the view
saying she doesn't feel safe when she goes into a
nahood that has flags out. But I do want to
clarify the law for you because that hoa is going
to lose that case, and any HOA that tries to
do that is going to lose that case as they should.
You're on the Dan Caplas Show.

Speaker 7 (10:16):
Now back to the Dan Kapler Show podcast.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
Its winning goal, well, no I think it was Messi
tied it up, right.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
Tied it at two late in the game.

Speaker 8 (10:26):
They scored the three goals in thirteen minutes, so it
was just a barrage that flipped it from two nil
to three to two.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
Why can't we just say nothing? Why do we have
to say nil? Do you ever say nil in your life?

Speaker 8 (10:39):
I've picked it up because they keep saying it. They
do cut It's uh stuck in my brain.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
Now maybe we'll work it into everyday life. You're right
about that. Zech thanks sex seekers behind the glass. Messi,
who I'm a big fan of, very active Catholic and
open Catholic. He scored the tying goal. And then this
is a Telemundo call of the winning goal for Argentina.
Not looking telladio. It goes on for like four minutes.

(11:39):
Do you think you'll ever love any team that much,
any sport that much?

Speaker 3 (11:44):
Oh?

Speaker 8 (11:44):
Man, I strive to be able to find that much
joy in life. Well, that guy is loving loving it.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
What a way to live. And Argentina has been through
so much, right, so, no, I was very happy to
see that. But and then we've had a lot of
text on. One of our topics is why isn't the
US better at soccer? We have thirty times the people
of Belgium and get absolutely drilled. It's not like the
one two to one some fluke or anything. So don't

(12:13):
we have a number of We have some really smart texts,
obviously a lot of really sophisticated soccer people in the audience.
How about this one, texter says Dan. The USA starts
kids in soccer in little, tiny fields with tiny goals.
Other countries start kids on the same size fields as
the cup plays on. Therefore those kids learn how to

(12:33):
dribble and pass much more efficiently from the start. That
is so smart because I remember, you know, Caroline, she
was a great little soccer player. And I remember the
field was so small and the goal was so small.
Interesting point, Now a full field. You know, these kids
might have gotten tired fast. But yeah, so why aren't
we better at soccer? All right? He to the phone

(12:54):
lines there and Fuegel also getting some advice on what
to do about this litter of kittens that I've found
underneath our back patio. Okay, it's kind of a slam patio,
and I knew a while back some bunnies had kind
of done their thing there and a bunch of little bunnies.
I didn't have the hurt to close it up. And
now it's full of a litter of kittens. It looks
like the mom has taken off. So what do I

(13:14):
do about that? Mister funk. Let's go to Falcon talk
to Troy. You're on the Dan Kapla show. Welcome Troy.

Speaker 4 (13:22):
Then you give me an entire buthday and only a
couple of minutes to go through it.

Speaker 1 (13:27):
Wonderful, so fast.

Speaker 4 (13:29):
So yeah, the Republican Party's been messed up since twenty
ten with that election with Dan Mays and tomtown Crado.
So you know, people go to your research store. Colorado
Republican Party has broken. The Democratic Party has broken. They're

(13:55):
electing the full blown communists. Carpetbager from New York to
come in.

Speaker 1 (14:03):
He Troy, what's your advice to the Colorado GOP.

Speaker 4 (14:08):
The color of GOP needs to I don't know, I
don't know how you fix it, but we need grown
ups from the room.

Speaker 1 (14:16):
Yeah, well I am all for that, my friend, all
for that. Yeah, we tend to be candle lighters around here.
We curse the darkness plenty, but you got to bring
the candle, got to bring the candle. Dan. The announcer's
voice sounds like the us LAH horn, which apparently they
no longer allow in the matches. I remember when little kid,
we used to go to Kamiski. Wrigley didn't have this,

(14:36):
But you remember those, Zach will you would remember them?
Have you ever seen them like in a museum?

Speaker 8 (14:41):
The louslas I remember from the South Africa World Cup.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
Oh okay, you're just blown them.

Speaker 5 (14:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (14:48):
It sounds like almost like a porn. It's nest going
absolutely crazy. It's just that like I remember the South
Africa ones where it's all you could hear all broadcasts.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
Yeah, I used to have them in Commisky Park and
then everybody stopped going because of the horns. Maybe it
was the team. Dan. You should play the joke by
Ronald Reagan about the Democrat puppies and Republican puppies that
from our friend Alexa. Can you see if you can
find that Democrat puppies and Republican puppies. I know it
exists because Alexa says it exists. Dan Denver Dumbfriends League

(15:19):
recently changed their name to You Maine, Colorado. First, you
might try a Rapo County Animal Control They probably can
guide you that From Diana and Centennial, Thank you Diane,
because we want to make sure we handle these these
kittens just right now. I assume I can just I
can handle them, right. I mean, you don't need to bees.
It's not a nest of bees or anything. I can

(15:41):
handle kittens. But then I always remember hearing that if
they're too young and you handle him, then the mother
won't take him back. Or maybe that was baby birds.

Speaker 4 (15:50):
Dan.

Speaker 1 (15:50):
It's sad that Trump acts like the flag belongs to Mega,
not everyone. He does not act that way at all,
quite the opposite. I hope that Texter calls the show
because that reasoning is fatally flawed. It's not on Trump
right now, it's it's on the left that they have
become so openly unpatriotic. And I'm just telling you as
a former Democrat with vast majority of my relatives out

(16:11):
of Stapian Democrats, Yeah, they Democratic Party is going to
die with this open move towards socialism and the now
viewing the American flag as a negative symbol. That will
kill the Democratic Party as it should, and it should,
you know, politically perish because of what it's become, socialist

(16:33):
and anti American. Openly, Zack, you say you found that joke?
I did wonderful. You want to tease it or do
it now? How long is it?

Speaker 2 (16:41):
We have time for it? They could wrap things that nice.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
Let's do it.

Speaker 9 (16:45):
This was a Democratic fundraising rally at a hotel and
outside when they all of them were coming out, there
was a kid there with a bunch of puppies and
he was trying to sell them to be saying, come
buy a Democrat puppy, puppy. Two weeks later, the Republicans
held a fundraiser in the same hall and there was

(17:06):
the same kid for the same puppies. When they were
coming out, he was saying, buy a Republican puppy.

Speaker 5 (17:12):
Well.

Speaker 9 (17:12):
One of the press, a newspaper man we've seen him
two weeks before, said.

Speaker 2 (17:15):
Hey kid, wait a minute.

Speaker 9 (17:16):
Two weeks ago you were trying to sell these puppies
as Democrats. What are you doing here now trying to
sell them as Republicans. The kid says, now they got
their eyes open.

Speaker 1 (17:28):
That's pretty good. Thank you. Alexa and on topic is
always right. As I'm trying to figure out what to
do with this litter of kittens I just found under
our patio, texter, says Dan. The kitten's mom may have
been away looking for food for herself. Now that is
a concern too. Now I assume the mom goes out
to find food for the kittens. Also, writer, is the

(17:50):
mom just you know, just beating the kitten's mother's milk,
or does she like drag back a mouse for them? Yeah, well,
I got to figure out something quick. Caroline put a
little bowl of water out there for him. I assume
that's okay. But yeah, so all advice accepted here. I
really appreciate that we got a ton of dogs. Some

(18:11):
of the dogs in the house I don't even recognize,
but we don't know much about cats.

Speaker 7 (18:21):
You're listening to the Dan Kaplis Show podcast.

Speaker 1 (18:25):
What an Afternoon's been so much interesting stuff. Obviously more
military action in Iran? Is that evil regime clearly, as
we've been talking about, believes President Trump is not willing,
He is not willing to fight in Iran at this
point in any large scale. So the regime determined to
humiliate America and the president and grow its standing in

(18:47):
the hallways of evil around the world. So that's the
dance that's been done in the Mid East right now.
We'll keep you up to speed on that, though. I
believe the military strike is over at least for this
evening early morning hours in around. So we've been talking
about that and talking about Colorado forest. You know, should

(19:10):
we be doing more to try to put down these
forest fires early or the overall health of the Colorado forest?
You know, what do we do about that? Because we
got some real issues there. That's on the agenda, of course.
The current state of politics in the state, the governor's
race not yet decided to Dick Quantums joined us earlier.
It sure looks like Victor Marx is going to be

(19:31):
the winner. But none of us know how many more
votes are to be counted, because none of us know
how many there were to be cured. And you know
what that means, right when all of a sudden you
cast a ballot and it isn't counted because of a
concern about a discrepancy, and then the voter gets a
notice and a chance to fix it, and none of

(19:52):
us know are we talking about ten ballots? Are we
talking about one hundred thousand ballots. Nobody knows, but we
do know the deadline, and that is Thursday, so we'll
know by Friday who that GOP nominee is. And then
this interesting side conversation sprung up about, hey, will President
Trump campaign in Colorado this fall? Would he be helpful

(20:13):
or hurtful to the GOP candidates? And then I'm getting
your help if you know anything about this, and everybody
else is to what to do with this litter of
kittens that we just found under our back patio today
in a hole that used to be occupied by baby bunnies.
So I'm kind of wondering what happened to the baby bunnies.
I didn't have the heart to seal it up because

(20:34):
I was worried I might be sealing the fate of
some baby bunnies. Now I've got a litter right, it's
called of kittens. Just don't know much about cats, you know.
When I tell you, Zach laughed, said, you're making it up.
I'm not. When I say that there are sometimes dogs
in our house, I don't recognize it. I mean, we
are big dog people, and we have this amazing crew

(20:57):
of dogs. One who just turned eighteen. Stop going to
the bathroom outside. When she turned ten. I guess she
felt she'd earned that right. But we got all these
great dogs, and then every now and then, truly, sometimes
dogs will just wander in just neighborhood dogs will just
wander in the house through an open door. We love dogs,
and I don't dislike cats. We just haven't been a

(21:18):
cat family. We had an outdoor cat, Felix when I
was a kid in Chicago, but almost nobody had pets
and zach because they're so expensive. They are they are
holy cow. And I'll tell you every dad on our
block and every mom. I mean, you know, moms didn't
work outside the house as much, but they worked ten
times as hard as anybody inside the house. Yeah, everybody's

(21:42):
working real hard. Nobody has money for pet food. So
I don't think there was a single There wasn't a
single pet on our block, and on our block, on
each side of the street, we probably had I don't know,
fifteen houses, not one single pet. And now it's hard
to find out without a pet, right without multiple pets.

(22:03):
But all I'm saying is we just we just never
became familiar with cats. So I just don't know what
to do with these kittens. Getting a lot of good suggestions.
Let me get back to the textures, many great texts today,
but I cannot, I cannot let a segment go without
maybe my new favorite sound, Elizabeth Warren. I said to myself,

(22:23):
that's my kind of man, talking about grade Platiner, right,
And all the times are trying to run him out
of the rays because the polls are shown that he
is likely to lose. So pretty darn typical there. They're
not talking about Epstein as much this week, are they?
With their their grand Platiner saga? There? All right? He

(22:47):
back to the textures. We have so many good ones
on day. One of the other topics we have going
on is why isn't the US better at soccer? We
got thirty times more people than Belgium and we got
absolutely drilled. Dan, the most underrated geopolitical story is that
Trump is trying to get Turkey to buy our jets.

(23:09):
That will infuriate Russia, who currently sells to Turkey. I'm
going to be deep diving this whole Turkey thing tomorrow. Dan,
do you ever listen to your DEMB relatives with an
open mind or to your wife, even all of the time.
All of the time. Yeah, I do, and I do

(23:30):
it for a number of different reasons. One is respect,
the other is show prep. I mean, it's the same
reason that I'll watch CNN, MSNBC. I want to know
the best arguments on the other side, because because that's
the only way you're going to be able to defeat them.
And when it comes to hey, if I'm wrong about something,
I admit it. There's never literally never been anybody on

(23:52):
air more willing to do that. You want Exhibit A.
When I started on air back in ninety one, ninety
to whatever it was, I was a Democrat. I was
a registered Democrat when I started on air. And then
guess what when you go on air and all of
a sudden, you're you know, sharing all your opinions on

(24:14):
this and that there is nowhere to hide, and I
don't want to hide anywhere. It is a relentless pursuit
for the truth. And so I go on air and
I believe these things, and all of a sudden people
start saying very nicely and sometimes not nicely, which is fine,
Hey what about this? What about that? I do my research,
I do this, I do that, I analyze it from
every possible angle, and then all of a sudden, I say,

(24:36):
you know what, I'm just wrong about that. I mean,
when you're on air, there's no way to hide. And
that's why when we sit here today, I can look
at you in the eye and tell you I believe
I'm absolutely right on every single thing I say. And
that is a matter of decades and decades on air
where my ideas and beliefs and theories and facts they're

(24:59):
tested on under fire. Zech do you ever tell anybody, no,
you can't come on Eric because you're gonna prove Dan wrong. Never,
And nor did Ryan or anybody else. In fact, I'm
sure all you guys would say, hey, this will be fun. Yeah, yeah,
go get them, you know, and yeah that's great. But no,
that's that's the process. So yeah, I listened to all

(25:21):
of my dem relatives with an open mind. My wife
and I, you know, we've had these, you know, thirty
two plus beautiful years of marriage and I get the math, right, Yeah,
just just had our thirty second on July third, And
one of the reasons we've had thirty two years of
bliss is well, you know, this show, it's blatantly honest. Right,

(25:46):
I married the greatest woman in the world. You couldn't
have a better soulmate and wife. But I got married
when I was thirty six, and the first six months
there's an adjustment there when you've been single until you're
thirty six and nothing to do with you know, once
I met her there is no other woman in the world.
It just has to do with lifestyle. Like I had

(26:06):
one plate, one knife, one fork, five TVs, and then
you get married, all of a sudden, you've got more
than one plate, more than one knife, well more than
one fork, and you don't watch as much TV. I
used to play one hundred games of softball a summer,
played competitively before we got married. You get married, your

(26:29):
priorities necessarily change, as they should you play two games
of softball. But all I'm saying is I think one
of the big keys to our bliss over all these
years is we stop talking politics very early in the marriage,
very early. Zach, I don't even know your politics, but
I know you're very thoughtful and analytical. But would you

(26:51):
marry a woman of a different political persuasion?

Speaker 2 (26:54):
Yeah, no problem, I think as long as you are
well reasoned, I think as long as.

Speaker 8 (26:59):
It's coming from a carrying place.

Speaker 7 (27:03):
You know, if it's.

Speaker 8 (27:06):
If it's well reasoned and you're well meaning with it.
If it's not, I don't know. If it doesn't seem
venomous to me, I would have an issue.

Speaker 1 (27:13):
But if you were madly in love and she's perfect
in every other way, but it is venomous and you
just disagree politically, would you still marry her?

Speaker 8 (27:23):
Maybe not, because I wonder if that again, I'm talking
about something that's really hateful, like I can't and you
know what, screw those Republicans there. You know some people
talk about their political opponents as a lesser. Then I
think if it was someone like that, it'd be that's too.

Speaker 1 (27:38):
Far, And that's that's never been my wife. Should I
remember McCain, I don't know if it was him or
race Camp called up and he wanted my wife to
host a town hall for him when he was running
for president. She said, yeah, she respected him. So no,
it's never been that.

Speaker 8 (27:54):
No, that's no issue with issue based though.

Speaker 1 (27:57):
I tell you, she really is not a fan of
resident Trumps. So we just don't talk politics, and we
stopped talking politics long long ago. Let's go to beautiful
Pueblo and so sad. Right now, the espen Acres fire
down there, burning one hundred and forty six square miles. Patrick,
you're on the Dan Kapla. Sh'll welcome Dan.

Speaker 6 (28:18):
Good to talk to you. Yeah, I was just wondering why,
you know, the West has been on fire for what
fifty years now, and we have we don't have Why
don't we have a million drones that are capable of
dropping five dollars of water? Why don't we have more
than one super tanker in America?

Speaker 1 (28:37):
You know the answer. You're asking all the right questions,
my astute friend, but you know the answer. Rights, It's
just not a big priority to the people with the money.

Speaker 6 (28:45):
Yeah. Well, I mean the insurance companies should get involved
because you know they're well what they do insure rope there,
which is very limited right now.

Speaker 1 (28:55):
Yeah. Oh, it's terrific.

Speaker 6 (28:57):
Friends that lost their properties that couldn't even get insurance.

Speaker 1 (29:00):
I know, it's just so horrible. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (29:03):
And then on the kittens, Dan, I had a kitten
come into my yard exactly thirty days after I had
my dog put down years ago. I took her to
the vet. I tried to get rid of her, nobody
would take her. So I had her spade the best
best animal I think I've ever had.

Speaker 1 (29:20):
Wow, why is that? Tell me more?

Speaker 6 (29:23):
Oh, she sticks around the house.

Speaker 4 (29:25):
That's the thing.

Speaker 6 (29:26):
If you get them spade and neutered, they'll stick around.
They won't wander. You know, she's smart. She comes in
every night. She's got a pet door, but she knows
when it gets dark, she's got to be there. And
she's there, and then I lock her up in the
house at night. I don't let her go out. And
really good, I've never had a cat before, but she

(29:47):
turned out to be a really great animal.

Speaker 1 (29:50):
For man, is cool? Man, thank you for that call.
That's heartwarming. That is cool. You're on the Dan Kapla Show.

Speaker 7 (30:00):
Back to the Dan Kapli Show podcast.

Speaker 1 (30:04):
I said to myself, that's my kind of man crap planner, right,
oh Man. Hopefully, and I do believe many more people
are starting to see who the Democrats really are because
I'll tell you, as a former Democrat, like for a
lot of years and with a lot of Democrat relatives
out of state, all of them, I'm telling you right now,

(30:25):
there are so many Democrats they have no clue their
party has become this whack no clue and we so
often lose to the stereotype of who the GOP is
rather than on the issues. Yeah, no, this stuff is big.
This stuff is big for the GOP because we got
to flip some Dems. It's that simple. We got to

(30:45):
get out and flip some Dems to win in Colorado.
Think about the math. Dems consistently win statewide here by
say nine to twelve, and then every now and then
there's a big blowout because like a Polist will spend
twenty five million or something. But all that means is flip,
just flip six percent Dems who normally vote DEM because

(31:07):
that's a two for they lose one, we get one.
So yeah, it is so much of the key to
success right now is flipping some Dems. And I guarantee
you with it becoming so clear Dems are going socialist
that there is a real opportunity there. But of course
the GOP has to have its a game. Speaking of
which Michael Allen, really strong candidate for Attorney General, will

(31:27):
be with us on the show tomorrow and a real
chance to beat Jenna Griswold because Alan Strong Griswold is
worse than weak. And there are many, many, many Dems
very concerned about Jenna Griswold as ag so Michael Allen Tomorrow.
Dan says a Texter, what if there is a crisis
in uninsured rural properties similar to healthcare? Hey, I'm with you,

(31:50):
brother or sister Texter. I mean it is like this, Kevin.
We have in the mountains, it's becoming so impossibly expensive
to get homeowners insurance on a whole bunch of stuff.
And then in Colorado you've got the hail issue, which
makes a lot of stuff more expensive. You've got the
legalize marijuana and what it does on the roadways that

(32:11):
makes auto insurance more expensive. You definitely have a major,
major problem brewing there, Dan, Some of these issues are
moral as well as political. I could never marry someone
who I disagree with on moral issues. Interesting? Does that
mean on any issue that has a moral component, because
many issues do, or would it have to be the biggies? Interesting?

(32:34):
I wish we could talk to that text, Alexa says Dan.
Could you or Zach marry a socialist or communist? That
from Alexa? I never could because then you get to
just such completely different world views. Yeah, I never could
Zach can speak for himself.

Speaker 2 (32:52):
Yeah, I think it comes down to again, like the
venom is it?

Speaker 1 (32:56):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (32:56):
Is it something that can be changed?

Speaker 8 (32:58):
Is it something that's warm hearted or is it something
that is kind of how you've talked about it in
the past. I need to take from someone else to
fill up my cup. Do they have even if we
can say they're wrong, do they have a more Like
we played the melot Hero's clip where she's talking about well,
if someone's homeless, give them housing, Like is it in ignorance,
dance or a venomous stance?

Speaker 1 (33:17):
Well, Zach, that is so thoughtful on your part because
I think you find it with like some of the
young socialists where it's just not thought through. It's very
well intentioned. They just want everybody to be well off,
very well intentioned. That is a great point you make,
because let's say that you're young and you're just in
love with somebody who just has that worldview. As z Ex says,

(33:40):
it may be coming from a good place and they
may be persuadable. Now, Malt Carros, I've never met her,
would love to get her on the show. But my
take on Malt Cairos. From everything I've seen is that
that does not come from a good place. It comes
from a very very very bad place. And in my
view of Milt Cairos, you know, and it just everything

(34:01):
I can see in the media, et cetera, it comes
from that praying on people's worst angels and instincts, you know,
praying on jealousy, wanting to take from Zach and give
to somebody else. So yeah, no, somebody with that kind
of worldview, No, no, that doesn't work. Yeah, And they
wouldn't want to marry me, right, they would they They

(34:21):
wouldn't want to marry a free market conservative. Yeah, dad,
I think it's super smart. You don't talk politics with
your wife. I think you'd drive her to drink.

Speaker 5 (34:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (34:34):
No, we just realized a long time ago. We have
so many things we have in common and we love
talking about and everything else. Why should we talk about politics?
And it's not talked about at the dinner table, it's
not talked about at these big family events. No, it's
just yeah, I just got to be realistic about that stuff. Now. Listen.

(34:57):
I think I'm put on this planet bad things and
do good things, and to persuade the persuadable. My wife
is not in that persuadable and so she's wonderful, she's
a perfect woman. But you gotta be realistic about these things.
Sat thanks all your great work, as always, Michael Allen

(35:17):
on the show tomorrow, Real chance to become Colorado's Attorney General.
