Speaker 2 (00:16):
All right, Welcome to the show, the only show of
it's kind.
Speaker 3 (00:19):
Nothing like a big surprise. I sit down.
Speaker 4 (00:21):
I'm waiting for our intro music. Play that again, chanton
for God's sake, I got to hear that.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
Please, first time I heard it? Can I hear it?
Speaker 3 (00:30):
Yes? Please? Can you play it?
Speaker 1 (00:36):
Forty five years strong, solving your problems, answering questions, taking complaints.
This is the Troubleshooter Showsting Marsino.
Speaker 4 (00:47):
That's brand new. I didn't hear that. That's the first
time I heard it. Anyhow, I digress. Welcome to the show,
the only show of it's came. We hear the south problems,
answer questions, take your complaints, our goals to make your
life a little bit better. I'm still shocked. I'm still shocked.
I'm gonna yell at Tom when he walks in. I
shouldn't have to sit down and hear that for the
(01:07):
first time right now, Dimitri, I should not have to Mark.
Speaker 3 (01:11):
That was shocking. But more interesting is whose voice was
I have no idea fantastic. I have no idea.
Speaker 5 (01:17):
Was that Steve Moss or not.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
That was definitely not Steve.
Speaker 3 (01:21):
I want to get some voice lessons from that guy.
Speaker 4 (01:23):
Jeez, I don't know, man, I don't know it. It's
so surprising to me. I don't take well to change
very quickly. I got to be like Suzanne's gotta like
walk me into things over a long period of time, over.
Speaker 5 (01:37):
Months and months.
Speaker 3 (01:38):
Yeah I am not Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, Mark, I've
noticed that your brief flirtation with colored shirts has sadly
come to an end. Yes, I don't like because of
that whole new thing. I don't know. You just neither
kind of like eat. I don't like, Yeah, I don't like. Well,
I'm just saying, you know, some things I don't second chance. Yeah,
I don't think so.
Speaker 4 (01:55):
Three oh three seven one three A two five five.
If you've been ripped off, if you've been taking advantage
of we want to hear from you. You know, we
sent out a euro plumbing to look at something yesterday,
and I hate when we get a message back like this.
Look our angels said, referral this dot com. Well it's
plumb line. They go out and do free drain checks
for us all the time. The guys at euro Plumbing
(02:18):
do great things for us all the time.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
To help people out. But I got to tell you.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
That woman was a nut. I mean she was a nut.
She didn't even know what she needed.
Speaker 5 (02:27):
I feel bad for Mark.
Speaker 4 (02:28):
I feel bad for the people we send out there
that like, literally there's they don't even know what's wrong.
They're like, okay, well we don't know what's wrong, like nothing.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
To look at.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
She calls up, has a problem, you get out there.
Speaker 4 (02:42):
They have no idea what it is, no idea what
she's even talking about.
Speaker 5 (02:46):
Yeah, I hope she gets it figured out.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
Yeah, well I hope so too. I think medication might
actually help.
Speaker 3 (02:52):
Wait, how did she actually describe the problem that turned
out to be non existent? She didn't know. Well, she
just said, hey, I have a plumbing problem.
Speaker 4 (02:58):
That's something she She didn't know if she needed a
drain line. She didn't know if she had a backup,
she didn't know.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
Well, well, did she discuss the symptoms so when they
called up she didn't know and they went out there.
Speaker 4 (03:12):
No, they went out there before and told her what
was wrong. And then she called back up and had
another issue, but she didn't know what.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
The issue was. That's too bad.
Speaker 4 (03:24):
Yeah, well, I like how you and Susanna think that's
too bad. I think I'm getting older and grumpy in
my life.
Speaker 5 (03:30):
Well, you're definitely getting grumpier in life.
Speaker 3 (03:32):
I am.
Speaker 4 (03:33):
What do you think that is? I get really mad
when people get ripped off.
Speaker 5 (03:37):
I have no idea, but I feel bad for the lady.
I'm surprised you don't.
Speaker 4 (03:40):
I don't on that one. I'll tell you why, because
they already went out there.
Speaker 3 (03:44):
She forgot. They already went out there. So then then they.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
Call up there like we were already out there.
Speaker 3 (03:50):
We told you what you needed. Well, sounds like the
Tom Martino Show fixed another consumer problem.
Speaker 4 (03:56):
Let's let's put that up now. It's four hundred million.
Speaker 3 (03:59):
And we get a quarter of that. Don't we cat
that at the end of the year.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
Could you imagine if we actually split that stuff up?
What do you think of the elections?
Speaker 3 (04:07):
Real quick?
Speaker 4 (04:07):
By the way, three oh three, Martino, I forget, I digress,
and I'm going to interduce our guests. Believe it or not,
we got movers in the building. I thought I'd turn
over in my grave if there was ever movers in
the building. But these are apparently good movers that you've
dealt with.
Speaker 3 (04:22):
It's a good company, and I've been a friend of
the company since the nineties. They've been one of my
clients over the years. Yeah, and I've been their client
over the years, and never a bad thing to say
about I like I like everyone I met there.
Speaker 4 (04:36):
What did you think of Did you watch any of
the elections or any of the results last night? To
primaries around the country?
Speaker 3 (04:42):
Mark this morning, I briefly glanced that the only one
I was interested in was was the Los Angeles Yeah,
and he did surprisingly well. He's gonna get smoked in
the actual elections. I don't I don't know. Well, look
at the the Karen Bass and the other moon that's
on the D side of the ticket. They got to
combine something like sixty percent over sixty percent of the vote.
(05:04):
Nobody who voted for the loon and the primaries is
going to vote for Spencer Pratt. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
I don't know. I have hopes, man.
Speaker 4 (05:12):
I sat here in twenty sixteen, in twenty twenty four
and listen to Tom tell me how no way could
Trump win either time. All the polls are saying different
and it just can't happen. He'd say, you just aren't
in the right circles. You don't know what's going on. Mark,
and both times crushed them.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
Well, that's just an example of why we should all
stay in our lane.
Speaker 4 (05:35):
Now, explain this one to me for anybody listening. Last night,
I listened to Kyle Clark because I feel like it's repentance, don't.
I don't go repent at to Catholic church anymore. So
I feel as if I listened to him, I feel
like I'm giving up a small part of my soul
in a good way, if that's even possible. Why was
(05:58):
he doing the republic debate last night in the primaries?
That was so shocking to me. I mean, it was
the craziest thing I ever listened to. I had toterm it.
It was so bad.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
All he did was basically attack the three candidates, right.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
Well, that's to be expected. And I think the request
why would they choose them? Why would they possibly choose them? Well,
that's an easy one, Mark. I think what they're hoping
to do, what the Republicans are trying to do, is
appeal to the mainstream voter to somebody who's not partisan,
who's someone who might have an open mind and kind
of consider the Republican ultimative. Mark he doesn't have an
(06:35):
open mind. My god, No, he's as liberal as they come.
Well agreed, But I'm saying that they were trying to
appeal to the actual voter, to the voter, and I
think that what they were banking on is that having
called Clark hosts this Republican debate it was horrible, would
demonstrate their mean like they're they're somewhere in the middle,
you know, their mainstreamness. That's really the only logical explanation
(06:58):
there is.
Speaker 4 (06:59):
I don't know what it was. I thought it was horrible.
It lasted maybe, I don't know how long it lasted.
I lasted about ten minutes. Did you watch it?
Speaker 3 (07:06):
No, of course not. I mean it's it's a well,
first of all, I'm not a Republican, I'm independent.
Speaker 4 (07:10):
And the guy in the middle with the dog, and
I hate to even say it, I'm not even sure
who he is.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
But why was the dog there? If you saw it,
there was literally a dog there. Why is there a
dog there? I thought I thought that was odd.
Speaker 3 (07:20):
I would want a dog, Mark, if I could bring my.
Speaker 6 (07:24):
It a service dog. Was that Victor Marx is that
his name? It was just look like a service dog
to me.
Speaker 3 (07:32):
I don't know anything about the guy. You know.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
It's funny to me there even is Republicans still in
this state.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
I mean, it's remarkable to me.
Speaker 3 (07:40):
Quite a few.
Speaker 4 (07:41):
I mean, I think where I live in Douglas County
there's quite a few. But around here, I mean, my god.
Speaker 3 (07:47):
City, they're definitely the minority, a huge terrib.
Speaker 1 (07:50):
Probably the only conservative in Denver. I I some days
I feel like it, Mark, I sure do.
Speaker 4 (07:56):
So I will introduce Tyler Shepherd in rich Jigglio jo Jillio.
Speaker 3 (08:02):
So it's a silent Jillio. It's a silent g that's correct.
Who says stuff like that, like was it your dad
that decided?
Speaker 4 (08:11):
Was it your great grandfather that said, we're not going
to pronounce that letter in our name.
Speaker 2 (08:16):
That was the Italians, so they don't pronounce geez.
Speaker 3 (08:19):
Well. When I went over there, Giovanni, that's that's Tom's son,
it's not Iovanni.
Speaker 7 (08:24):
They corrected me. When I was in Italy, they said,
you mean Giglio. Giglio, okay, which.
Speaker 1 (08:30):
Means your mom said growing up Giglio Chilli. Yes, I
get so mine is major and everybody says it's m
a jo art it's not.
Speaker 3 (08:37):
It's m A g e r.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
When we are in Germany going through.
Speaker 4 (08:41):
Customs, they said, oh, hello, mister Mauger, and that's how
it's pronounced over there.
Speaker 3 (08:46):
I didn't know that that makes sense.
Speaker 5 (08:48):
Your grandpa changed it when he came over. Are your
great great Grandpam?
Speaker 4 (08:51):
Sorry, well it be my grandfather's dad, Yeah, my great
great soul And the main reason was World War one
in World War two Germany, So you know there's that.
So you guys are in the moving business, that's correct.
And how long have you been in it personally?
Speaker 3 (09:07):
Yeah, not just with Bueler. How long you been seven
years forty seven?
Speaker 2 (09:12):
So you've seen every scam out there.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
Yes, I could write a book. Why Florida We talk
about this all the time.
Speaker 4 (09:19):
It seems like all these people that are nothing more
than salespeople. Then they go around basically I guess, taking
bids on different moves.
Speaker 3 (09:30):
They're all out of Florida. Why is that?
Speaker 7 (09:32):
Are their laws more open in Florida? You're talking about brokers?
Speaker 3 (09:36):
Yeah? Why only Florida?
Speaker 4 (09:38):
Well, I won't say, only Florida, but ninety eight percent
of them.
Speaker 7 (09:42):
There's a lot of activity in Florida just because.
Speaker 3 (09:44):
Old people moving all out all the time.
Speaker 7 (09:46):
What well, people are moving to Florida. Yeah, yes, so.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
But if you go on the internet right now and
look for low cost movers, the brokers that will pop
up are all based in Florida.
Speaker 3 (09:58):
Why is that? I have no idea? Okay, I wish
I did.
Speaker 4 (10:01):
Yeah, I don't understand it. It's like maybe they don't
prosecute crimes down there.
Speaker 3 (10:06):
I don't know. I don't know.
Speaker 7 (10:07):
Where do you start with? I'm sorry forty seven years?
Where do I started with student movers?
Speaker 3 (10:14):
Student? Are they still around?
Speaker 7 (10:15):
We are dealer purchase student movers?
Speaker 8 (10:17):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (10:18):
I in twenty twelve?
Speaker 1 (10:19):
Is that like your local company is local? That's so
they do not go across They do.
Speaker 3 (10:24):
Not not license to do.
Speaker 7 (10:25):
But we with student movers does local moving here in town?
Speaker 4 (10:28):
So there's student movers? What's that other one that's something
student related? You see everywhere. I'm not trying to just
bring up your competition, but it seems like people take
the word student and use it all the time in
the moving business. Why is that though they think they're
going to get what some college hunks there?
Speaker 3 (10:44):
What's it?
Speaker 5 (10:45):
That's what it's called. There's one called college hunks moving.
Speaker 3 (10:47):
There's college hunks moving, college hunks. That's it.
Speaker 5 (10:50):
There's also all my sons, maybe my son, but you
were thinking.
Speaker 4 (10:53):
Of Actually I think our son used them in Nebraska.
They're out of multiple states, right, that's correct. Who's your
biggest competition locally?
Speaker 3 (11:03):
I would say, do I have to mention names? Tyler?
Can I mention that? Yeah? Good ones?
Speaker 4 (11:06):
I don't meant rip amazing moves amazingly. Oh they've got
the red trucks.
Speaker 3 (11:12):
Yes they do.
Speaker 1 (11:13):
Yeah, yeah, very red. I used to do a lot
of advertising for this. Yeah. Yeah, I'm not going to
go into why we don't anymore. But I'm not as
big on them.
Speaker 3 (11:21):
As you are, right, so I'll say that thanks.
Speaker 2 (11:24):
For bringing them up.
Speaker 4 (11:25):
Now that i'm thinking about it, I'm pretty sure they
owe us money. And I'm not kidding right there, Yeah,
I kid you not when it comes to money. Three
oh three seven one three eight two five five. Everybody
hold type. We'll take a break. We'll be back right
after this.
Speaker 8 (11:45):
Go with a sure thing Denver's best roofer Excel roofing
dot com. You don't pay a cent until you're content
time for an insurance check up free, no obligation. In comparison,
call Compass Insurance paying too much your coverage at dozens
of insurance companies find out now three all three seven
to seven to one.
Speaker 3 (12:05):
Help.
Speaker 8 (12:06):
You'll think you're his only customer when you choose Frank
durand the real estate Man dot com to list your
home with Remax Alliance. Three oh three nine two zero
sixteen twenty two.
Speaker 4 (12:18):
All right, three O three seven one three A two
five five You've been ripped off for taking advantage of
I got Deputy d sitting across from me ready to
sink his teeth into some contractor.
Speaker 3 (12:28):
That sounds a little odd. That would be.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
Fun to see, though, I got to admit.
Speaker 3 (12:32):
That, Uh it is simple though.
Speaker 4 (12:34):
Three oh three Martino and we are going to be
talking to some movers today, and I'm kind of glad
these guys are in. They're a trusted moving company right
here in Colorado. Tyler Shepard and Rich Tyler and Rich,
once again, welcome to the show. I do want to
talk about some of the Okay, let me ask you this.
What's the right way to do it at a state
(12:54):
because we know the wrong way because we get to
calls two, three, four times a week every week. And
usually it starts like this, it's gonna cost three thousand
dollars to move you from Colorado to Florida wherever.
Speaker 3 (13:08):
It happens to be.
Speaker 4 (13:10):
Then what happens is the movers show up and it's
ten thousand dollars or worse than that. They show up,
they don't tell them anything. They just pack this stuff
up in a truck and now the stuff is somewhere,
never to be seen again unless if they cough up
in additional five or six thousand bucks.
Speaker 3 (13:28):
They're literally held hostage. Like how do.
Speaker 4 (13:31):
These things happen? I mean, you guys must know these
scams all the time.
Speaker 3 (13:35):
Oh.
Speaker 9 (13:35):
Absolutely, it's a huge problem in our industry.
Speaker 4 (13:37):
And why is it such a big problem in the industry.
Is it because you guys are very relaxed on policing yourself.
Speaker 3 (13:44):
I mean why is it?
Speaker 4 (13:45):
Is it because it's interstate and we're not talking like
it's just happening in one county and you can go
to Douglas County and get it figured out. I mean, really,
why do you think it's so rampant. I think people
want to see a price that is super low. Reality is,
when you look at the expenses of the trucks, the insurance,
everything else that goes into this, it's not the cheapest endeavor.
(14:06):
But when you see a price that's a third of
anything else you're seeing, they're gonna jump at it, thinking,
you know, hey, I've really got a screaming deal.
Speaker 9 (14:13):
I've been sold into this. This is going to be great.
Speaker 10 (14:15):
But the reality of it is is, you know, you
have to check the background.
Speaker 9 (14:19):
You have to check out these companies.
Speaker 4 (14:21):
You're generally talking to some kid in the basement, I
would guess, or a guy working out of the Starbucks
sitting in you know, Miami or something. I mean, it's crazy,
you have no idea who you're talking about. Then they'll
have names.
Speaker 2 (14:33):
Like you guys are Bueler, Mayflower.
Speaker 3 (14:36):
They might have.
Speaker 4 (14:36):
Mayflower, Bueler, I mean, they'll have names. It sound like
companies we've heard of.
Speaker 10 (14:42):
Yeah, it's definitely true, and some of these people do
have at least a truck or two.
Speaker 9 (14:47):
But for the most part, you're absolutely right.
Speaker 10 (14:49):
It's them selling you on the phone and then trying
to sell your move down the line.
Speaker 3 (14:53):
So how should it go? How do you guys do it?
Speaker 4 (14:55):
If I'm moving my house and we're gonna move wherever,
it doesn't even matter, So you guys send what a
salesperson over.
Speaker 9 (15:03):
It depends on what you're comfortable if.
Speaker 10 (15:04):
If you want someone who's in your home, I personally
do if I'm going to trust everything I own to
an individual, I want to look them in the eye
and shake their hands. But some people prefer the virtual survey.
Speaker 3 (15:14):
How does that work? Just like a zoom? Basically?
Speaker 10 (15:15):
Yeah, it's basically almost like a FaceTime, except for it
records on our end, So we can I.
Speaker 2 (15:20):
Think that would be good for like an apartment or something,
wouldn't you?
Speaker 10 (15:23):
Yeah, apartments is usually the most common thing, or people
who live kind of in the middle of notice is
that part free?
Speaker 4 (15:28):
So if someone's listening right now, local or a nationwide,
you can basically do a quick zoom or whatever that
looks like, have them walked through the rooms, and you
guys put a quote together. Absolutely, So after that point,
whether it happened on zoom or whether it happened in person,
what can change, you know, So you get a quote,
give me an average quote of an in town move
(15:50):
one thousand bucks, ten thousand, just throw a number out there. Sure,
let's go with fives five thousand bucks. So what would
make that go up from there?
Speaker 2 (15:57):
If anything? Once you give the quote.
Speaker 9 (16:00):
So there are certainly many factors.
Speaker 10 (16:02):
And I'll certainly let rich get in here as well
as you see a little bit more than I have. Sure,
but you know if you said, Hey, I'm gonna have
all this packed for you, I'm gonna have it ready
and a sudden you.
Speaker 2 (16:11):
Show up on it that's not there, does that happen
a lot?
Speaker 9 (16:15):
Absolutely?
Speaker 10 (16:15):
I think everyone kind of underestimates how much time it
takes to actually pack up everything you own.
Speaker 4 (16:20):
Someone told me, I forget who it was. It was
a company that we used to advertise for, but they said,
one of the big things is people forgot their patio.
So in other words, you'd get there, you got a
barbecue grill, you got a smoker, you got another couch
that's outside, you know whatever that looks like. People tend
to forget that. Yeah, so I get that would go up,
(16:40):
but what else would go up?
Speaker 1 (16:42):
Like if you guys, when do you actually lock into
a price with you guys?
Speaker 9 (16:46):
So for Interstate, it'll be when we provide the quote.
Speaker 3 (16:49):
That's it.
Speaker 10 (16:50):
From from an interstate level, we're going to give you
an inventory of everything that we list is moving and
it's not going to go up, and it's not going
to go up unless you know, you bring stuff from
your office or your story.
Speaker 3 (16:59):
I can't know.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
But no, that's that's a lot of talk and the
consumer does nothing. But there's no reason you would go up.
Speaker 10 (17:04):
No, for for the Mayflower, for United, for really it's
most major van lines. It's all they're going to lock
you in and you know, basically this is what we agreed. Sometimes,
you know, as salespeople, we do miss so occasionally we
might have to go back and have a conversation with
something at it or do I have to raise my
hand and say I messed up.
Speaker 3 (17:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (17:23):
At the same time, you're not required to actually go
back and pay more.
Speaker 3 (17:27):
Yeah, I gotcha.
Speaker 10 (17:28):
It's just what we're we have to do to kind
of cover our company. But from the from the interstate side,
know you should not see a change in your your price.
Speaker 4 (17:35):
Okay, local you acted, you were kind of alluding to local.
It could be different.
Speaker 7 (17:41):
Well, this is rich, it's on local moves, it's it's
by the.
Speaker 3 (17:45):
Hour, typically, Oh, I didn't know that. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (17:47):
Typically, by the when you quote, you have a damn
good idea, say four man eight hours, and which would
include travel time to the DestinE or the origin in
between and back to our warehouse. Things that what's really
important to say, whether it's long distance, interstate, international, or local,
communication is key. You've got to keep communicating with a
(18:08):
client and if something changes, like Tyler referred to communicate,
we try to call the day before and says anything changed,
let's run through this and typically no, nothing's changed, but
sometimes you can catch it.
Speaker 3 (18:24):
Going back to the.
Speaker 4 (18:25):
Boxes thing though, I didn't think about that. Do most
people box up their own stuff that are doing long
distance moves or do you guys generally go up there
and you're packing the bowls and dishes everything.
Speaker 3 (18:36):
It's fifty to fifty it is, Yeah, it is.
Speaker 2 (18:38):
That's kind of I never thought about that.
Speaker 3 (18:40):
Mark Rich was telling me. He Brish a few months
ago provided me on a moving in storage quote for
my own loft which I have to leave for big renovation. Yeah,
I know, and Rich offered me the service of not
only do they pack, they'll actually am I thinking of
this the right way, They'll actually unpack and like put
the dishes and the forks here and put anything back
in its the time, I never even thought of the unpacking.
(19:02):
There's two types of unpacking.
Speaker 7 (19:04):
One is concierge, which means we'll do just what you said,
that's the term. The other one is will literally unpack stuff,
put it on the counters, put lamps on table. We're
not putting it in the drawers, so we're not that one, right,
and we'll haul off the they'll do re removal.
Speaker 4 (19:17):
So my son's a store manager for Walmart, and that's
what he gets if they move them from one store
to another, and trust me, they do it a lot.
They actually come over, they'll pack everything up, bring it
to his new house. They'll unpack everything, put it away.
It's a concierge, yes, but he doesn't get a choice.
It's you know, Walmart does whoever right, they'll pay for it.
Speaker 3 (19:39):
Yeah, So let me ask you this.
Speaker 2 (19:41):
I would guess and tell me if I'm wrong.
Speaker 4 (19:42):
In the past twenty years, the biggest competition and I'm
not talking scammers, I'm talking real competition to your industry,
must have been the pods because that's fairly new.
Speaker 2 (19:53):
Right, is that twenty thirty years or am I dat myself?
Speaker 3 (19:57):
It's probably been about twenty years.
Speaker 2 (19:58):
It wasn't that a big thing.
Speaker 3 (20:00):
Do you guys do.
Speaker 7 (20:01):
Pods or no, we do not provide pods, but we
will provide the client still have to come up with
labor to load.
Speaker 3 (20:09):
Yeah, professional, you don't do these. We know we don't
do that.
Speaker 4 (20:14):
It's probably more of a competition to you haul then well.
Speaker 3 (20:17):
Correct, Mark, I think what Rich was about to say
is they will load the lots and they will unload
the pods, even though they don't transport the po oh.
Speaker 1 (20:24):
I see, you won't move the pod, but you can
actually do that if they want.
Speaker 7 (20:28):
We can do the loading, the labor to load it.
Because there's probably not a lot of that though, right, Well,
there's a bit. Okay, I'd say about ten percent of
the people I talked to are looking at that option.
Speaker 4 (20:38):
So do a lot of people They call you or
they looking at you haul and they're looking at the
pods and they're looking at you. To me, that seems
like it would be those are three very different clients.
Speaker 3 (20:49):
And how much you're willing to put into it.
Speaker 4 (20:52):
Yeah, there's not many of us in our teens or
early twenties that haven't rented to you haul, and my god,
they're never big enough. No, and things fly every I
mean they're a complete nightmare, honestly, if that's your only option,
like when we had zero money, I mean, that's what you.
Speaker 3 (21:06):
Do right now, and you haul.
Speaker 7 (21:08):
If you rent a U haul truck, they guarantee that truck,
it might not be picked up where you rented it from.
You might have to drive to Colorado Springs. Yeah, you
have to get it.
Speaker 3 (21:17):
People need to understand that.
Speaker 8 (21:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (21:19):
And then the trailers, I mean, I think they've they're
starting to look a little better, but occasionally you'll still
see something that looks like it was built in the
seventies getting towed by a car built getting told by
like an old Lincoln town car, some cruising down the road. Listen,
we're gonna take a break. Three ozho three seven one
three eight two five five three oh three Martino. Get
(21:40):
those calls in.
Speaker 8 (21:45):

Speaker 4 (22:16):
You know some of the conversations we have during the break,
I some things actually just make my head spin, and
Dimitri tends to do that to me a lot.
Speaker 2 (22:26):
He said something about BUCkies.
Speaker 3 (22:28):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 4 (22:29):
He said, it's basically like what Disneyland should be. Is
that your quote?
Speaker 3 (22:33):
Yeah, that's right. It's a wholesome place. It is wholesome. Mark.
Everybody's happy, not just the employees, the customers. Everybody has
a smile on their face, whither they or not listen.
It's just it's a beautiful, wholesome place. People are laughing,
people are getting their pictures.
Speaker 2 (22:48):
Taking beefy three meets Sands.
Speaker 3 (22:51):
I do I drink coffee and eat beef jerkey? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (22:54):
And they've got that huge, huge, big gulp size for
like a buck.
Speaker 5 (22:59):
Oh.
Speaker 3 (22:59):
I you know I didn't notice only by coffee that's
all you buy.
Speaker 4 (23:01):
There that you've never had like the Three Meets in
which the turkey leg the jerky, Yeah, the Bucky balls?
Speaker 3 (23:09):
Have you had Bucky balls?
Speaker 8 (23:11):
No?
Speaker 3 (23:11):
Mark, But I mean does speak my curiosity some more.
But you have to remember, I'm one of those people
that kind of finds what he likes and sticks with it.
So you can go to BUCkies for coffee, coffee and
beef jerkey.
Speaker 2 (23:22):
Yeah, that some people would refer to you as mental.
Speaker 3 (23:25):
Well some people there. You guys know.
Speaker 4 (23:28):
Our friends from Buehler Mayflower here. You guys realize how
far BUCkies is from here. I mean you guys are movers.
You guys probably know the exact mileage.
Speaker 7 (23:36):
It's like fifty nine point six miles.
Speaker 2 (23:39):
Yes, he goes here for coffee.
Speaker 3 (23:41):
That's amazing. Well, you got to remember Rich goes up
to northern Colorado and business all the time, so I'm
sure BUCkies is an important stop on the way up
and down. Have you guys been there? I've been there once,
only one one? How about like Ata State?
Speaker 2 (23:54):
Have you been to one in Texas.
Speaker 8 (23:56):
Or I have not?
Speaker 1 (23:57):
I know Texas is where they're originated from. Yeah, there's
a bunch of BUCkies. There was going to be one
right near our house. But I guess they put the
Pooh pooh on it.
Speaker 3 (24:06):
You know, one way to think about their Texas origin
is BUCkies are actually the Texas embassy that they're building
all over the southern and midwestern United States.
Speaker 2 (24:15):
I was trying to get and I am not kidding.
Speaker 4 (24:18):
I know people out there, if you listen to the show,
you know I joke around a lot. And I guess
when I first mentioned it, maybe I was kidding a little,
but I was more serious and kidding our daughter's ceremony.
She's getting married next year. I think BUCkies would have
been perfect. I think BUCkies, the organization would have loved it.
(24:39):
I think they would have turned it into something wonderful.
I think it would be something they remember forever.
Speaker 3 (24:47):
And people can gas.
Speaker 5 (24:48):
You could have walk down the fuel pump aisle.
Speaker 4 (24:51):
Well, I bet they would have set something up. See
you think I'm like really joking on it.
Speaker 5 (24:56):
I know you're not joking.
Speaker 4 (24:57):
And I think years from now, when they're twenty thirty
years married, they would be like that are trying.
Speaker 5 (25:01):
To talk their kids tend to get married at BUCkies.
Speaker 4 (25:04):
Yeah, when they're trying to talk to their kids, Well,
market sounds like it's not too late.
Speaker 3 (25:08):
I mean, they haven't quite gotten to the idea.
Speaker 4 (25:10):
And they parted a deposit down on another place. So
I think the whole Buckets that's disappointing.
Speaker 3 (25:16):
I mean it's really a good I could have conducted
the ceremony while dressed in a beaver outfit.
Speaker 1 (25:21):
No, no, no, I think they would have provided the Bucky guy.
Speaker 3 (25:24):
Oh, okay, BUCkies will do that.
Speaker 2 (25:26):
You know, you can buy that whole costume there.
Speaker 1 (25:28):
What Yeah, you can buy the BUCkies costume at BUCkies.
Speaker 3 (25:31):
How much? I don't know. We could use them for
some of our undercover work. Remember when I went to
the bank sneaky into that brewery. When I went to
the bank to catch that scammer who was going to
show up with a million dollar check and a brand
new Mercedes, I was just wearing my normal street clothes
because Sue said, we have no budget for disguises.
Speaker 2 (25:50):
Guys, we had a we had a deputy. He's not
with us anymore.
Speaker 4 (25:55):
Yeah, in mind, and well he's she didn't die.
Speaker 2 (26:00):
Oh that's no, he's just not he's not with us anymore.
Speaker 3 (26:05):
I'll leave it attet.
Speaker 4 (26:06):
But he was great, and he would be in Florida
for half the year. You know, he was a snowbird,
so he'd be here in studio during the summer and
then during the winter he'd be in Florida.
Speaker 2 (26:18):
We had a moving one out there. You guys will
love this.
Speaker 1 (26:20):
So this lady gets ripped off and we can't get
in touch with the mover.
Speaker 3 (26:24):
She can't get her stuff. It's one of these scenarios.
Speaker 4 (26:27):
They're holding it hostage until they pay an extra four
grand just to drop her stuff off in Florida. So
he happened to be right by there, so we send
him down to the address.
Speaker 2 (26:38):
He'll never guess what it was.
Speaker 3 (26:40):
The address.
Speaker 4 (26:41):
It was a mailbox, et cetera inside of a seven
to eleven. You couldn't you can't paint a better picture.
That was the corporate headquarters of the movers. So he
actually listened to this. This guy kind of camped out,
got to be friends a little bit with the store
guy the seven okay, and the guy came in to
(27:03):
check the mail and he actually tracks him down to
where he actually lives, which is like in an apartment
around So now we know where he lives. He gets
more involved. I'm not going to say he like strong
armed him. I'm not going to say he like threatened him.
I'm not going to say he like scared the person,
not going to say any of that. But the lady
(27:25):
got her stuff. Can you imagine though, if it wasn't
literally for one of our deputies in the show, she
would have never gotten her stuff.
Speaker 10 (27:35):
So this happens so much that Mayflower actually has a
program called Move Rescue.
Speaker 3 (27:39):
What does that mean? Move rescue?
Speaker 10 (27:40):
So are the the lawyers for Mayflower and their parent company,
Unit Group will actually go in and try.
Speaker 9 (27:46):
To do that for you?
Speaker 1 (27:47):
So that would we have callers when we have callers
that are in that circumstance you're saying, you guys have
a resource they can call.
Speaker 9 (27:57):
Yeah, it's not for us like locally here like with why.
Speaker 3 (27:59):
Don't we lead with this gentleman? Whoa this?
Speaker 1 (28:02):
You got to bury the lead a little bit? My god,
I had no idea. So you guys are like fraud fighters?
Speaker 3 (28:08):
Yeah that we we do have a department at our headquarters.
That that's that's what they do. Wait, what do they do?
So how does that phone call start? Let's say rich
or you get this phone call from a consumer or.
Speaker 2 (28:17):
From us saying hey, we got this caller.
Speaker 9 (28:19):
We're going to refer to you to Move Rescue.
Speaker 10 (28:22):
I'm not the legal ease, I'm by no means, the
point person on something like that.
Speaker 3 (28:26):
Do you know any cases they've done? I don't specifically.
Speaker 4 (28:30):
Now I see why they didn't lead with this.
Speaker 3 (28:32):
This is a big deal. What does the massive well,
what does Move Rescue do?
Speaker 8 (28:37):
Uh?
Speaker 9 (28:37):
They go in and they do that fight for you
instead of try.
Speaker 1 (28:40):
To figure out where your stuff is and literally get
your stuff back.
Speaker 3 (28:44):
Yes, that's what they do. Yes, hold on three.
Speaker 4 (28:46):
Oh three seven one three a two five five three

You know, I was talking to the guys here from
Bueller Mayflower and they said something. I kind of overheard
him talking during the break. I didn't know you guys
started offering financing. I never would have thought of that.
I never knew of mover that would do financing. I
just have never heard of it. But I have always
(30:04):
thought that could be a lot that could be very
helpful to some people.
Speaker 3 (30:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (30:09):
Absolutely, it's something that the van line put into effect
last year. The financing is through a company called Acorn.
We don't really get in the middle of it.
Speaker 11 (30:17):
You know, no.
Speaker 10 (30:17):
One really wants to talk about their financial situation with
a stranger in their living room, so it allows you
to do it kind.
Speaker 9 (30:23):
Of discreetly and directly, but it can be very helpful.
Speaker 3 (30:26):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (30:26):
Actually I pulled up the information on it and it
says exactly that Mayflower doesn't directly do it or finance it.
But they partnered up with Acorn Finance and really the
only criteria is it's got to be between one thousand
and a fifty thousand dollars move credit impact.
Speaker 3 (30:45):
It will not.
Speaker 2 (30:47):
Affect your credit to get pre qualified.
Speaker 4 (30:49):
And you can do it within sixty seconds and if
you're accepted with the lender, funds are usually deposited within
twenty four to forty eight so after your move they
step up and pay it and then you can have
different ways to pay it back.
Speaker 2 (31:06):
That's pretty cool. Yeah. Absolutely.
Speaker 10 (31:08):
When you're moving to a new place, you know, you
always want to redecorate, you know, maybe you want to
buy a couch, yeah, whatever. It allows you to keep
some of that liquidity so that you can go and
kind of, you know, furnish your new home and at
the same time be able to pay off your move,
you know, kind.
Speaker 1 (31:21):
Of I have I have made this argument before, and
let me ask you guys something. I assume Tyler, you're
more on the sales.
Speaker 2 (31:33):
Side, am I correct?
Speaker 3 (31:35):
Yes, sir? So okay?
Speaker 2 (31:37):
And Rich are you more sales or sales?
Speaker 4 (31:40):
But Rich, being in the business for forty seven plus years,
I assume at one point you actually move stuff I did. Now,
did either of you ever show up at any point,
whether the sales you're pitching or you any role you've
ever played. But you're at the customer's house and you're
looking around, and you go, for God's sake, why would
(32:01):
anybody move this stuff? They could literally move in their
car and buy brand new furniture for less than what
this is going to be. Be honest, I know this
is this is a horrible business model for you, guys,
but it must happen all the time.
Speaker 3 (32:16):
It happens. It does happen.
Speaker 1 (32:18):
Do you have that conversation you're like, hey, that that
that old couch, if you want to call it, Dad,
is not worth moving, sir.
Speaker 3 (32:25):
That's the truth. But they're also.
Speaker 7 (32:28):
Do you have the other way to look at it
is some things are cheaper to move than replace.
Speaker 3 (32:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (32:33):
For example, something as silly as a metal shelf, it's
going to cost you fifty dollars won't at home depot.
Speaker 3 (32:41):
Yeah, Yeah, you can ship it for twelve.
Speaker 4 (32:43):
Yeah, I mean, or you can have it dropped off
to wherever from Amazon for nothing.
Speaker 3 (32:48):
True, But the point is, yeah, you're not.
Speaker 12 (32:51):
No.
Speaker 4 (32:51):
I figured that happens a lot, and I really do
mister Martino joins us, it's good to see you, Tommy.
Speaker 8 (32:58):
Hey, hello, hello, oh hi. Have you met our movers, Tyler?
And I'm glad we movers. Have you explained to them
about the problems we have? They're all in South Florida,
That's what he said. Yea, every skin, don't one. We've had,
every single one we've had in South Florida. I could
say other things about them, but people would say I'm profiling.
Speaker 3 (33:18):
But what Okay, I'll just say it like it is.
Speaker 2 (33:23):
Ninety eight percent of them are Israeli owned.
Speaker 3 (33:25):
Why is that?
Speaker 8 (33:26):
I had no idea South Florida is rarely owned. That's
just a fact.
Speaker 2 (33:30):
So I'm not I'm not profiling, but that's what happens.
Speaker 8 (33:33):
And I don't hear a profile. But but here's here's
the the ripoff. Number one, the broker who's no one.
They take a deposit and they do nothing. They sell
that contract to someone else. That someone else comes and
picks up your stuff, but but forces you into paying more.
They say we can't pick it up, and they make
(33:54):
the deadline when you have to be out of there.
So when they show up, you have no choice but
to agree to that more amount that.
Speaker 3 (34:00):
That increasing get your stuff.
Speaker 8 (34:02):
Then okay, so now you got the increased amount, they
pick up your stuff. Then a third person calls you
to deliver it and they want more money, so you
get hit the first time, second time, third time, and
the lowest bid so called that the first broker talks
you into, turns out to be the highest bid and
all things so half of the stuff is missing or broken.
(34:22):
They're they're terrible people, terrible. The warning business sucks.
Speaker 1 (34:26):
Now.
Speaker 2 (34:26):
Bueller, the name Bueller, the name many flower has been around.
Speaker 3 (34:29):
We tell pong time.
Speaker 8 (34:30):
We tell people go to a national company with a
local agent who has a background.
Speaker 1 (34:36):
So they have something that we just found out about.
Oh my gosh, and we'll touch on it again.
Speaker 2 (34:42):
Is that financing you were talking about, No, not financing.
Speaker 4 (34:45):
They basically have a group out of their corporate that
if people are ripped off in the scenario you just said, yeah,
they have attorneys in boots on the ground to help
people get their stuff back at no costs.
Speaker 3 (34:58):
That would be great. We got to talk about that.
Speaker 4 (35:01):
We will, Wow, we will, yes to me, sure you
look like you were perched.
Speaker 3 (35:06):
No, I think that's fantastic. I can wait to hear
about the move rescue and guys you would be you
guys need to advertise that more because none of us
have heard of this until you just happened to mention
it kind of in passing.
Speaker 4 (35:19):
Yeah, we're gonna talk about that and a lot more,
plus your problems, complaints, any issues you have. Get those
calls in three oh three Martino. We're all in studio
three oh three Martino. We'll be back right after this.

Speaker 8 (36:35):
Come welcome. Hey, So who do we have?
Speaker 2 (36:38):
Mark here?
Speaker 3 (36:38):
Who do we have? We got? Tyler?
Speaker 4 (36:40):
Shephard Enrich. I want you to pronounce his last name
for me. Go ahead, mister Italian. Okay, how do you pronounce?
So let me find it on here? Oh uh Giglio. Nope, Nope, nope, nope,
no gisulo.
Speaker 3 (36:52):
Gig I would have said Giglio just looking at it.
Speaker 2 (36:55):
But what is it?
Speaker 3 (36:55):
What's just so you know?
Speaker 7 (36:56):
I lived in Louisiana for a couple of years and
they did call themselves Giglio, the Giglios.
Speaker 3 (37:02):
But Gilio is.
Speaker 1 (37:03):
How how part of Italy is your folks from or
you're fan from Campana?
Speaker 8 (37:08):
I don't know where that is. Usually you don't have
silent letters.
Speaker 3 (37:12):
That's why they do.
Speaker 7 (37:13):
That's it's from the word gili, which means lily in Italian.
Speaker 2 (37:18):
And that's why you're wearing green.
Speaker 7 (37:19):
That's right, because I'm a Tyler Shephard Bueler may Flower.
Speaker 8 (37:23):
The name Bueller's goes back a long time and then
Mayflower when they combined, Well, it's not they're an agent.
That's so they're an agent. They're they're they're like, uh
so Bueller is the local name of the agent. And
then Mayflowers They oh, I get it. Yeah, they usually
do that around the country, so I get it. The
agent will name it for themselves. And Mayflower has been around.
(37:45):
I mean they're they're one of the big ones. Who
else North American?
Speaker 9 (37:47):
Right, North American? The United Allied?
Speaker 8 (37:50):
Yeah, so you guys have been around a long time.
And then we have who's the other one? They just
a local Johnson's been around for I don't know if
the brothers are still there.
Speaker 2 (38:03):
I actually I think one of them is Mark.
Speaker 4 (38:06):
I talked to Mark occasionally, and uh, why is moving?
Speaker 3 (38:10):
Why is it such a dirty business?
Speaker 8 (38:13):
By the way, three oh three seven one three talk
for problems question combined thero three seven one three eight
two five five or three h three Martino three oh
three six two seven eight four sixty six?
Speaker 2 (38:22):
Why is it such a problem?
Speaker 3 (38:25):
Well, let me set it up for you. Yeah. Please. Uh.
Speaker 7 (38:28):
In the nineteen eighties, Psychology Today magazine had the top
ten most stressful situations in life. Number one was the
death of a spouse. Number two was divorce. Number three
was moving.
Speaker 3 (38:42):
God, that's crazy. Yeah. First stress, So what people are?
Speaker 7 (38:46):
They're always priced conscious they're always looking for a good deal.
And what I've noticed other service industries, but I've noticed
over the I've been doing this for forty six years
that people tend to devalue our service.
Speaker 3 (39:00):
I don't think I mean not when you get a good.
Speaker 7 (39:02):
One, No, I mean they devalue it in the sense
where they don't want to spend the money on it.
Oh oh, it's kind of like you'll spend you know,
fifty thousand dollars on windows.
Speaker 2 (39:12):
On your house, or a thousand bucks on a steak dinner, right, but.
Speaker 3 (39:16):
They don't want to spend Mark hit on something though.
Speaker 8 (39:18):
I don't know vivis on the aeronaut but we're talking
about and Mark and I put some numbers to it
one time. It probably most of the time just pays
to buy new stuff. I mean, it's so and again
that's counterintuitive to you guys, because you make your money
movie stuff.
Speaker 4 (39:33):
A lot of people do want that, you know, one
hundred a year old arm law from great grand five.
Speaker 8 (39:39):
I'm not saying you buy everything new, but you take
only the essentials. Really, some of the stuff you're moving
is crap, that's true, It's just crap.
Speaker 4 (39:47):
Do you guys still move big console TVs for an example.
Speaker 7 (39:50):
Not anymore, but I personally have moved playing they're always
in the basement too.
Speaker 3 (39:53):
But yeah, people leave them when you move into their house.
Speaker 7 (39:56):
But Tom, what you find out if you look at
the the statistics on what people have all of our stuff, right,
sixty five percent of it is stuff, it's boxes, it's
it's closed, it's it's knick knacks, it is.
Speaker 3 (40:12):
But thirty five percent is furniture in weight.
Speaker 7 (40:14):
When we're talking weight, yeah, oh okay, okay, so you're
right when you if there's a piece of furniture that's
not worth moving, then you should move it. But most
of what people move, it's personal stuff. They're not going
to get rid of that.
Speaker 2 (40:26):
No, no, no, for a pound on moving right now.
Speaker 1 (40:28):
So if it is something heavy, we I mean, I
didn't think about that before. So if I have a
big heavy metal desk from the sixties that my mother
was a teacher and used, how much is that to move?
Speaker 3 (40:41):
Is it our price?
Speaker 1 (40:42):
Pound?
Speaker 8 (40:42):
It does?
Speaker 2 (40:42):
Yeah, it does.
Speaker 10 (40:43):
It go by pound or buy volume, so it ultimately
comes down to the weight, and it's by one hundred pounds.
It's not like per like one pound's gonna throw things off.
We call it one hundred weight pricing, and that's ultimately
you know, it's it's a sort of matrix between distance travels.
Speaker 8 (40:57):
So if we're going to protect ourselves and by the
let's talk about that. The number one thing is I
have to tell you don't go by the internet, because
anybody can be posed as a mover. In fact, most
of the time the first call you make is never
to a mover. It's to some guy sitting behind a
computer collecting deposits, and then they sell those contracts to anyone.
(41:20):
So use I say, a national recognized transporter, right.
Speaker 3 (41:25):
That's correct, and then find an agent that they like.
You're looking at brick and mortar.
Speaker 8 (41:32):
Writ you want to brick and mortar, truve address, real
truck and an agent affiliated with a real with a
real mover with a real transporter.
Speaker 2 (41:41):
I say, transporter like Mayflower.
Speaker 8 (41:43):
Okay, have you noticed though even they even try to
mimic the Mayflower name. There was one called Mayflower something
and the or or Global something. They try to give
a name that's similar to a national name, so you'll
trust it. But it's just such a terrible industry. So
always pick a national transporter.
Speaker 2 (42:03):
That you can.
Speaker 8 (42:04):
I don't mean the name national necessarily, but pick a
transporter that's been around for years, pick a good agent
with that transporter, and as you said, brick and mortar,
real trucks. And then you want everything in writing. I
was told, and I don't know if you still do
these contracts guaranteed not to exceed. Yep, they're the best, absolutely,
the absolute best, because then you can go by weight.
(42:27):
But you guys are saying it's never going to be more.
Speaker 3 (42:30):
Do you guys do that?
Speaker 9 (42:31):
Absolutely?
Speaker 2 (42:32):
It's the best contract you can.
Speaker 9 (42:33):
Get, guaranteed in home pricing.
Speaker 2 (42:35):
Guaranteed not to exceed.
Speaker 8 (42:37):
And then when you compare prices, the lowest price doesn't
always mean the lowest price.
Speaker 2 (42:42):
Almost never means the lowest price.
Speaker 8 (42:45):
And then I found a lot of bad guys. Here's
what they're doing. I noticed this with a move one time.
They were writing down scratches and dents on stuff that
did not have scratches and dents. And then I figure
out what they were doing. This was when year, years
and years ago I was moving to Florida from New York,
and what I noticed was they know, you're not going
(43:06):
to complain about something that has returned to you in
better conditions. So they put down that it had scratches,
dense cracks, whatever where, and they put that down on
the inventory sheet. Right you signed the inventory sheet. Very
seldom you look through that and say, wait a minute,
that dresser.
Speaker 3 (43:25):
Doesn't have a scratch on it. Blah blah blah.
Speaker 8 (43:27):
Now at the destination, if everything shows up fine again,
you're not going to complain. You're not going to say,
wait a minute, buddy, you said my dresser at a
scratch in it. There better be a scratch in it.
You don't say that. You're just happy to get your stuff.
So what they've done is cover their asses by putting
down scratches, dense mars, fading whatever, they put it down,
(43:49):
and then if you complain about it, they say, oh no, no,
that was there, and that was in the old days.
I don't know the I mean, really the scams. The
scammers are more sophisticated nowadays, but there's still scammers. You
must hate it and talk, Mark, you was gonna talk.
You were going to talk about the rescue. Yeah, we'll
get into that in a sec. But I kind of
do what you just said in a way. When I
(44:11):
rent a car, and we rent cars all over the place.
I will walk around it. Don't put everything, yeah, well
not just put everything.
Speaker 3 (44:19):
I'll video.
Speaker 4 (44:20):
I hate to say this, but I'll walk around the
car and I'll be like, oh, there's a scratch are
oh and that could be a chip in the window,
but there's nothing there.
Speaker 3 (44:27):
And I just figure in.
Speaker 4 (44:28):
Case they try to screw me, right, Yeah, I at
least got this video where it appears there's problems.
Speaker 8 (44:34):
You know, we've actually had cases with car rentals where
people were charged for the same thing over and over
three months later. Yeah, we and the and then the
next customer was charged for the same thing. Rentals they
don't do that so much anymore. I mean, the renting
business for cars is cleaned up a lot.
Speaker 4 (44:52):
Big time, really, And that's kind of interesting about your industry.
You were saying the three biggest things and moving being
the third on the list, which is crazy. People fear
that more than anything. But some industries have cleaned themselves
up over the years, like used car dealers. I'm not
saying they're golf.
Speaker 8 (45:09):
You're right, they cleaned up a lot. Cleaned up our
new car dealers too.
Speaker 4 (45:12):
Yeah, how come it's like all the old used car
dealers that had cigarettes and golf carts to show you
around are.
Speaker 3 (45:18):
Now movers in Florida.
Speaker 8 (45:20):
Yeah, but South Florida, Why they're all there. I go
so far as to tell people never ever use the
mover from South Florida ever, Just don't. Every single ripoff
we've covered, every one.
Speaker 3 (45:35):
Of them was located in South Florida.
Speaker 4 (45:37):
What do you guys do when someone calls you and
wants an estimate and they present this thing they got
from some broker that I mean, it wouldn't even pay
for the gas. Quite frankly, I mean, how do you
even address that with the customer?
Speaker 3 (45:50):
It must happen all the time, it does.
Speaker 10 (45:52):
I mean, first thing I say, when you're talking to
someone else's if they require a deposit, run No major
van line requires a deposit. So if you hear of
a deposit, it's probably not someone who's going to be.
Speaker 2 (46:02):
Hand so once the first time, you guys collect money.
Speaker 4 (46:06):
The day before we load, the day before you call,
so if it's at the full amount.
Speaker 9 (46:11):
If we're doing a credit card, it's the day before
we load.
Speaker 10 (46:13):
If you want to do a cashiers check, you hand
it to the driver before he starts unloading your your
truck at destinations.
Speaker 2 (46:19):
So you have a destination, so.
Speaker 9 (46:21):
You have options either way.
Speaker 10 (46:23):
You know, I personally would rather get the credit card
points if I'm paying for something as.
Speaker 9 (46:25):
Big as a move.
Speaker 10 (46:26):
Yeah, but if you'd prefer to do a cashier's check,
the driver, your stuff shows up, you pay correct.
Speaker 2 (46:32):
Well, hell, you can't get better than that, No, of
course not.
Speaker 8 (46:35):
And again, they have inventory sheets, they have real people,
real trucks are real company.
Speaker 3 (46:43):
Uh, it's just look it. It's so logical.
Speaker 2 (46:46):
But here's the first thing people do. They go on
the internet.
Speaker 8 (46:49):
They see a name they think looks familiar, they'll call
it or they'll go online. And then that's where the
ripoff starts. They're right from the beginning because they want
a deposit. Once you pay that, and then you feel
you have it locked in at that price, and it's
never locked in.
Speaker 4 (47:05):
By the way, go ahead, let's take this break. I
think he wanted to mention someone. But when we come back,
I want these guys to explain how these guys Mayflower
Bueler Mayflower is actually fighting these fraudsters.
Speaker 8 (47:18):

Speaker 13 (48:55):
I did not shop it.
Speaker 12 (48:56):

Speaker 14 (48:58):
I got a hold of them. They got a salesperson
in touch with me, and I got.
Speaker 12 (49:05):
To tell you.
Speaker 13 (49:05):
When they told me the price, considering what they were
going to do, I thought it was very fair. Like
I said, I'd shop it, and it was. It was
one of the best decisions I've ever made. It's a fantastic.
Speaker 3 (49:19):
Hey, Tony, they're talking about Mayflower too.
Speaker 13 (49:21):
He had Mueller, right, yeah, yeah, dealer Mayflower.
Speaker 1 (49:27):
I don't know, Hey, Tony, would you move to and
why did you move?
Speaker 14 (49:32):
You know who I moved. I can't take the skirt
wearing politicians anymore.
Speaker 3 (49:41):
Skirt uh.
Speaker 13 (49:44):
Uh the skirt wearing male politicians, I should say. And
I moved. I moved to Texas.
Speaker 3 (49:51):
Oh nice?
Speaker 13 (49:51):
What part Okay, North Texas, north of Dallas.
Speaker 3 (49:56):
Uh.
Speaker 13 (49:57):
They call it TEXAA. It's the Texa the Order area.
Speaker 8 (50:01):
Well, man, you can still listen, and I'm glad you are.
You can go on YouTube where you can go on
iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (50:06):
You can go on Spotify.
Speaker 13 (50:08):
What I'm on the radio, I'm on the app right now?
Speaker 2 (50:11):
Good excellent, Tony.
Speaker 8 (50:12):
Thank you man, and thank you for putting that shout
out to Mayflower and Bueller Mayflower in Denver. Here, listen,
here's the deal when you guys move. Somebody wanted to
know on my text here, when you use Bueller the
agent in Denver to move you, does the do they
stay with you the whole time or does another agent
at the other end pick it up?
Speaker 3 (50:33):
How does that work?
Speaker 10 (50:34):
So you'll have a single point of contact throughout your
entire move. They're called your move coordinator and they are
the ones who are going to work with your driver,
with people at origin, with people at destination, just to
make sure that any services you need are supplied. So
if you know a driver needs help when he gets
to the other end, that he goes and gets qualified
labor from that local agent and make sure that you
just kind of have a seamless process throughout the entire move.
Speaker 4 (50:56):
So real quick though on that behind the scenes. So
like I know, they'll have a lot of drivers, say
in Texas, which is a huge hub, and they'll have
drivers that basically drive from the middle of the state
to another state, drop off the load.
Speaker 2 (51:10):
Another driver's doing it constantly.
Speaker 4 (51:13):
Is your stuff with the same driver the same truck
the whole time, or are you guys dropping loads left
and right and moving different states.
Speaker 10 (51:20):
So when we hit like peak season, there are times
where we'll pick your stuff up locally and bring it
back to our warehouse and then get it on an
interstate truck. From that standpoint, basically, it's how we make
sure that we.
Speaker 3 (51:29):
Don't think there's anything wrong with that. I'm just curious
how it works.
Speaker 10 (51:32):
Yeah, once it gets loaded onto a trailer, unless you're
requesting something special at destination where maybe you need storage
something like that. Ultimately the goals are delivered directly to
you from that same trailer. So the more times we
handle your furniture, the bigger opportunity there is for damage,
the longer it takes.
Speaker 8 (51:48):
How do they police their agents from let's say Mayflower
or any national transporter. How do the carriers? How do
they rate them? How do they keep them straight? How
do we know we're not going to get a bad one.
Let's say here we got a great Mayflower agent, but
maybe somewhere else we don't.
Speaker 2 (52:04):
Or are they all policed?
Speaker 3 (52:06):
They're they're all pleased with the national van lines.
Speaker 10 (52:08):
At least we're rated on you know, damages, on our
on time, where our paperwork is so they're you know.
Speaker 8 (52:15):
So they can take the franchise away. They thought you
were dis absolutely.
Speaker 10 (52:19):
Under your There have been underperforming agents who have been
kicked out of the Flower family.
Speaker 3 (52:25):
You know.
Speaker 4 (52:26):
He said you brought up to word damage a couple
of times, which probably sucks in your industry altogether. But
I remember, and I don't think we've had this call
for a while because moving is so bad now. But
for a while, the main call we would get someone
would decline the insurance or the additional insurance and then
find out they get like fifty cents a pound or something.
Speaker 8 (52:49):
Oh oh yeah, the insurance that the default insurance was
like sixty cents.
Speaker 7 (52:53):
A pound, sixty cents a pound ride and we don't
And that's only for interstate though, right, that's not so
that's the fault or is that soul? It's local, that's
that's default default, right, sixty yeah, right, unless and that's
per pounds.
Speaker 3 (53:06):
If you got a diamond ring that weighs nothing, you
get nothing. Three cets.
Speaker 7 (53:11):
Yeah, here's yours. I'll give you sixty okay.
Speaker 3 (53:13):
But here's what Rich did for me when he provided
me with a quote A few months ago, I already
knew about the sixty some sense insurance, and I said, Rich,
I don't want that because if you drop my dresser,
which is very expensive, I don't want to get a check.
Stuff can be really far. What do you do there special?
Speaker 7 (53:31):
What were you going to say a solution to that?
It would be great for Rich to explain what he
offered me. First of all, we don't sell insurance. We're
not license insurance agents get evaluation. So we're self insured
and we provide coverage.
Speaker 3 (53:47):
Way.
Speaker 8 (53:48):
So when you do agreed coverage, that's between you literally
you the agent that's correct and your customer that's correct.
Speaker 2 (53:54):
But do you have third party insurance too?
Speaker 3 (53:57):
We we do have to file acclaim?
Speaker 1 (53:59):
And why we that's large enough with you're saying you
give the customer You guys Buel or Mayflower have insurance.
Speaker 3 (54:08):
Is what you're saying? We have insurance. That's correct.
Speaker 4 (54:11):
When you're moving someone, you're going to come up with
a number of everybody's evaluation.
Speaker 1 (54:15):
It's called valuation. Yeah, and if nothing does happen, you
just go to your insurance.
Speaker 15 (54:19):
But we have to.
Speaker 2 (54:20):
But can't we all agree on this? Truly?
Speaker 8 (54:23):
Everyone values their stuff more than it's worth. God bless you,
honest to God, they do.
Speaker 4 (54:28):
We can really say their storage unit in the East
Aurora got ripped off with three hundred thousand dollars of stuff.
Speaker 3 (54:35):
I'll tell you.
Speaker 2 (54:36):
Where it comes.
Speaker 8 (54:36):
Mostly and not just with moving, but with dry cleaning,
iron number or or stuff doing with clothes. It's amazing
how little these items are worth. And when people are
paying you actual cash value ACV, it's nothing. So with
moving insurance, like, is it stated value? Can you get
stated value on the load?
Speaker 3 (54:57):
Can you?
Speaker 7 (54:57):
Can you buy independent coverage like that? You can buy
independent coverage through your ownest. Okay, However, how it works
typically is we value if you get it's a minimum
based on weight. Let's say it's a ten thousand pound shipment,
your minimum purchase would be sixty thousand dollars in coverage,
which there's a there's a cost, gotcha, gotcha, But that's
(55:20):
what you're covered for.
Speaker 3 (55:21):
Minimally, you can purchase more. And we have this thing
called high value forms.
Speaker 7 (55:26):
If an item is worth more than one hundred dollars
per pound, keep that in your mind, like a ten
pound chair to be worth up to one thousand dollars
under normal coverage to be replaced if it was necessary.
Speaker 3 (55:39):
So you can get high value, but you can get
high value.
Speaker 7 (55:41):
Which would would pretty much supersede that coverage. You're still
going to be covered for what you purchase, but that
particular item could be worth more than that, and we
need to know that, so we have the customer fill
out a high value form for that. And what about
the carriers themselves?
Speaker 8 (55:58):
Do they have insurance if something happens the van accidents, fire, theft,
we have liability insurance and it pays the customer based
on what on your valuation, right, So in other words.
Speaker 2 (56:09):
This is not what the customer thinks it's worth.
Speaker 3 (56:12):
Correct.
Speaker 10 (56:12):
So again on your paperwork, when you get your bid
and your estimate, you do have the option to say, hey,
you've said the sixty thousand dollars is what my stuff
is worth. Actually based on what I have, it's really
more like one hundred thousand, and so we do an
adjustment on that pricing for the valuation. But if you
don't agree with what it's been listed as a kind
of industry standard value for your stuff, you do have
(56:34):
the opportunity to to change.
Speaker 4 (56:37):
Bring up Brian Burns Real Quick get firearms real quick.
Can you guys even move them?
Speaker 10 (56:41):
Or no, we can do firearms, We cannot do the
ammunition anything that's combustible. Obviously, we don't want things blowing
up on.
Speaker 8 (56:47):
Ryan Burns Compass Insurance Group. By the way, home of
the insurance check up at Compass, Hey, Brian, when people
are moving, when we are moving, I never really asked
you this. Do we keep our home own insurance till
we get to the other side?
Speaker 2 (57:02):
Am I covered?
Speaker 3 (57:03):
Good question? How does insurance work for moving?
Speaker 13 (57:07):
It's a great question.
Speaker 16 (57:08):
Yes, your personal property is covered in transit for the
same limit of a personal property coverage you have on
your policy. The big fee to it is that it's
covered from the same perils of the policy. So one
of the more common problems is that it shifts during
you know, transport and breaks.
Speaker 13 (57:30):
That's not going to be covered.
Speaker 2 (57:32):
So what would be covered if the trailer blows up
or drives off a cliff?
Speaker 3 (57:36):
Yeah, tell me the perils that would be covered.
Speaker 16 (57:39):
One one peril that would be a likely peril in
that scenario would be that they got into a car accident.
Let's say that someone keybone the truck. Well, that would
be covered because you just think in terms of if
a car went through your house, you would have coverage.
Speaker 8 (57:54):
So that what about theft? What about stuff that you know, hey,
hey this sitting show up at the other end.
Speaker 16 (58:00):
Yeah, that would be covered. Now, mysterious disappearance is what
you're referring to this. I'm talking pure stuff like someone
breaks into the truck. Let's say they they had to
stop overnight, you know, because it's across country.
Speaker 3 (58:12):
Yeah, and okay, so the steals it.
Speaker 8 (58:15):
That would be saund What about mysterious disappearance then would
that be covered? Like, well, I get to the move,
I get to the destination, I say, guys, this stuff
isn't there?
Speaker 3 (58:24):
What happens? Where's that TV?
Speaker 1 (58:27):
Yeah?
Speaker 16 (58:27):
I mean you're going to have to make a case.
It depends on the policy there, because a lot of
policies won't cover just mysterious disappearance automatically. So you know,
when you start scheduling things and have scheduled personal property,
then of course mysterious disappearance is one of those perils
that is extended.
Speaker 8 (58:45):
Do you have to let your guys know that you're moving?
Do you have to say hey listen, I'm moving or
is it automatic? No?
Speaker 16 (58:52):
No, it's just written in the policy cover for that.
A key limitation, not that you're asking about this, but
a key limitation on most is that if you move
your stuff to a secondary residence or even to a
storage facility, most policies, or at least many policies, will
only extend ten percent of your personal property limit.
Speaker 3 (59:14):
To those locations.
Speaker 4 (59:15):
Okay, got try to subrogate through the mover's insurance. Let's
say you know, I'm paying these guys extra to have
insurance or whatever, and the whole truck is a loss
and they cut me a check for sixty thousand bucks.
Speaker 2 (59:28):
Can I still get it through my homeowners? How's that look?
Speaker 16 (59:31):
Well, you can't double dip.

fully in saltwaterpros dot net. Okay, So Rod's got a
question about bed bugs. Oh my goodness, I think, uh,
(01:01:15):
I think this this subject every time we talk about
I start itching.
Speaker 2 (01:01:18):
So go ahead, Rod, what's happening.
Speaker 3 (01:01:23):
I would like some help in finding out how to
mitigate bedbugs.
Speaker 8 (01:01:29):
When you say mitigate, First of all, is this congregate
living or is it a single family home?
Speaker 11 (01:01:37):
It's a townhouse.
Speaker 2 (01:01:39):
That's what I meant. You know, I group living.
Speaker 8 (01:01:40):
Okay, So with a townhouse, do you know if they're
coming from adjacent units?
Speaker 11 (01:01:47):
No, I think they're I brought them home.
Speaker 2 (01:01:49):
Okay, that's going to be easier.
Speaker 8 (01:01:51):
Then then you don't have to be battling other people
because that's almost impossible when you're an account of condoor townhome.
So bedbugs the treatment is something you can't do in
a town home, I don't think. And that's the heat treatment.
But don't we have someone on the referral list that
was doing bed bugs. They did a great job. But
the best you're going to have to do is fumigate and.
Speaker 2 (01:02:13):
They superheat everything isn't I was going to say, I
don't think you can do it in the town home.
Speaker 8 (01:02:17):
With adjacent townhomes, I don't know, but the superheat is
the best way to do it. However, they do have
chemical treatments. A lot of people don't like that, but
it's really effective. I mean, they've come a long way
with bed bugs. The biggest problem with bed bugs isn't getting.
Speaker 2 (01:02:33):
Rid of the bed bugs. It's reinfestation.
Speaker 8 (01:02:35):
That's the biggest problem because if you don't know the source,
but if you know you brought them home, then you
can get rid of gasp. Yeah, where do you think
you got them from a hotel? No?
Speaker 3 (01:02:48):
I think I got it at work at work. Wait,
how do you get bed bugs at work?
Speaker 2 (01:02:52):
Then you'd bring them back?
Speaker 3 (01:02:53):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:02:54):
How do you get them at work?
Speaker 3 (01:02:55):
Though? I'm curious, how did you sleep at work? Or
you wired a hotel?
Speaker 11 (01:03:00):
You know, in the break room they have armchairs?
Speaker 15 (01:03:06):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (01:03:07):
Where is this?
Speaker 2 (01:03:08):
I'm just curious. It's not a restaurant, is it?
Speaker 3 (01:03:12):
No, it's not.
Speaker 2 (01:03:13):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (01:03:14):
Black Widow exterminator has been with us for years.
Speaker 2 (01:03:17):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:03:17):
I think.
Speaker 5 (01:03:18):
I'm not sure if he does bed bugs or not.
Speaker 3 (01:03:20):
But he we might.
Speaker 8 (01:03:23):
Call Paul over a Black Widow extermin just see if
he doesn't.
Speaker 1 (01:03:27):
But even if he gets rid of him there, if
he's getting them at work, he's going to bring him
home again.
Speaker 3 (01:03:31):
He's going to hit hike. We do it, by the way,
this is a good topic, guys, when you do, like
when you do moving. I just thought of this.
Speaker 8 (01:03:39):
If there are bedbugs in there, they'll go to the
other part because you have more than one party on
a truck.
Speaker 2 (01:03:43):
Something Has that ever happen? Notice how they would not
that I'm aware? How would they know that?
Speaker 3 (01:03:49):
Right? Answer?
Speaker 10 (01:03:50):
Well, because we're we're generally going to bag your beds
before we your mattresses before arm so that is going
to keep them sealed.
Speaker 3 (01:03:56):
But you know you're also going to see that when
you're trying to load it.
Speaker 8 (01:03:59):
By the way, bus somebody told me was if you're
at a hotel and they have bed bugs, if you
put your suitcase on the bed to unloaded, how many
people do that? It'll if they get in your suitcase,
you take them home. There's so many ways that you
can take bed bugs from a place and take them home. Really,
and how many people do that?
Speaker 3 (01:04:18):
You take your You ever had them? I've never never
had them, Thank goodness.
Speaker 8 (01:04:22):
Never.
Speaker 3 (01:04:22):
But bed bugs. Haven't lice?
Speaker 9 (01:04:24):
You ever have lice?
Speaker 8 (01:04:25):
No? Never?
Speaker 15 (01:04:26):
Now?
Speaker 2 (01:04:27):
Years ago, tod you have lice?
Speaker 3 (01:04:29):
Years ago?
Speaker 8 (01:04:30):
In college, my roommate and we made them. He had crabs.
Oh my god, oh on your junk. It was not
just on your junk, but they like little tiny crabs.
I got sick to my stomach.
Speaker 3 (01:04:42):
They literally little crabs.
Speaker 5 (01:04:45):
Disgusting.
Speaker 2 (01:04:46):
You haven't had them, no, no, God, almighty mart. Anyway,
the crabs are terrible. I've always I wonder what lurks
right here?
Speaker 3 (01:04:58):
Look down in the you know what I mean? Look
at this is a big giant company and we can't
clean the studio. Oh Tom, I heard I feel something
in my headphones. Yeah, I know.
Speaker 8 (01:05:10):
I hate talking about creepy crawly things. Anyway, do you
remember that, lady?
Speaker 6 (01:05:14):
But Tom Deputy bo just commented on our YouTube he
spent nine thousand on superheating his eight unit for bed bugs,
worked three months to get rid of them.
Speaker 5 (01:05:23):
Oh god, it was a nightmare.
Speaker 8 (01:05:25):
That's a lot of super You can have some detriment
to the paint and finishes sometimes with wood, but it
really is effective.
Speaker 4 (01:05:34):
What are those called like that? Well, she was crazy.
I don't care what anybody says. I went out there.
Oh yeah, she said that there was bugs all over
the place. I know the place was one hundred percent.
Speaker 3 (01:05:47):
More Gellon's disease? Are you talking about this? Had people?
Speaker 2 (01:05:51):
Mark? Do you remember the guy that was showing me
a jar with a carpet fiber that was like bugs.
Speaker 8 (01:05:58):
Now she was convinced more Gallon's disease is where you
think you have bugs burrowing into your skin. Remember the
guy that called he was burning himself and scraping himself
and getting major infections. Remember that, we've had so many
nuts on this show, but more Gallons disease. Then we
(01:06:19):
had a couple of calls, No, it's real, they're burrowing
into our skin. It is. I don't know where the
name even came from. We could look it up up,
but I remember it was called more gallons. And people
imagine bugs burrowing into their skin, their scalp, wherever, and
they go to extraordinary length to try to get rid
of them. It almost becomes an obsession, and it's very
(01:06:41):
dangerous because you can hurt yourself.
Speaker 1 (01:06:43):
And that's what it's called more Gallon's disease. Well, basically
they're saying the people are delusional.
Speaker 3 (01:06:49):
Then exactly exactly, and how many times it's a psychiatric disorder.
Speaker 8 (01:06:54):
Now I love this show and we help a lot
of people We really do. I want to put that aside.
Speaker 3 (01:06:58):
We really do.
Speaker 2 (01:06:59):
But now I want to say something.
Speaker 8 (01:07:00):
We do tend to attract people who need help, right,
and some people they don't know where else to go.
So we do get a certain nut element. And I
don't mean that as an insult. I just we just
get and and we know it, and they they over
the years, I'm going to my call sheet, over the years,
they've I've accumulated these literally these symptoms. Number one, they're
(01:07:22):
being spied on. That one's horrible, how many times? Right?
And number two, somebody is breaking into their apartment or
their condo or their home or that's right, Or they're
doing something they're they're planting. They can't they can't always
tell you what they're doing. And then the implants in
their brain or in their bodies and all that. And
(01:07:44):
then this one guy pissed me off so much, and
I was telling him, he's nothing wrong with him, you know,
let's help you, and he was getting mad at me.
Speaker 3 (01:07:51):
I was gonna, I swear to God, I was so
mad at him.
Speaker 8 (01:07:53):
I was going to find out where he lived and
fly my black helicopter over his house and just hover
over it for of ten minutes.
Speaker 3 (01:08:01):
Could you imagine that.
Speaker 4 (01:08:02):
We had that guy that broke into the building multiple times?
Oh my god, and he was off his rocker.
Speaker 8 (01:08:08):
You know it's too bad though, Seriously, mental illness is
a terrible thing.
Speaker 2 (01:08:12):
And here's the deal man.
Speaker 3 (01:08:14):
You go off the meds and then and then you
can't get people back on.
Speaker 2 (01:08:18):
But we have helped.
Speaker 8 (01:08:19):
Now now on the good news, we have helped a
lot of people find help that have called us because
they trust us, and we tell them, listen, look at
nobody's breaking into your house.
Speaker 3 (01:08:28):
Blah blah blah.
Speaker 8 (01:08:28):
Do you remember the woman just not long ago said
there was a guy that blocked her Wi Fi from
outside the house.
Speaker 2 (01:08:34):
He blocked impossible. We had all the nuts come out.
They say you can buy a jammer.
Speaker 8 (01:08:40):
I'm telling you right now, you can't buy a jammer
where you park outside somebody's house and black out their
wifis it's too.
Speaker 2 (01:08:47):
You would need a powerful it's not going to work.
Speaker 8 (01:08:50):
You're not going to do it. You're not going to
find anything on Amazon. I'm not saying they don't make
things that do it. Things can jam Wi Fi, things
can jam any radio signal if they're big and bad
at them. But in any case, it's amazing to me
how many calls we've gotten over the years.
Speaker 3 (01:09:07):
That I would classify as weird.
Speaker 8 (01:09:09):

and the moving business.
Speaker 2 (01:12:08):
These guys are great.
Speaker 8 (01:12:09):
They've been around a long time, and they were warning
us of the scams and they were talking about them
with us, and we were telling people that most of
the scams come out of South Florida. I don't know why,
but they do. In fact, I don't even know why
I say most. We've not found one that's not in
South Florida. That doesn't mean that the others are going.
Speaker 3 (01:12:30):
To be good Tom. You know something that our guests
here alluded to a couple of times and we never
actually returned to this, and I think this is a
good time to get back to it. They mentioned a
service that their company provides, move Rescue. So, guys, without
me putting any words in your mouth, can you please
describe the service, how does it work, what does it do?
And if you had any experience with actual cases that
(01:12:51):
Move Rescue was involved in, we'd love to hear about.
Speaker 2 (01:12:54):
Is it an industry thing or a Bueller Mayflower thing?
Speaker 10 (01:12:56):
So it's a sponsored by Mayflower and United Van Lines
and basically it's it's more of a resource upfront.
Speaker 9 (01:13:02):
You can see if you go on the website, it'll kind.
Speaker 3 (01:13:04):
Of tell you where do you call a website? I
believe it's move Rescue dot com. It is, I'm just
there right now.
Speaker 8 (01:13:09):
Ye.
Speaker 10 (01:13:10):
It'll talk you through basically the red flags be looking
for and what a scammer looks like from before the move,
during the move, after the move, and if you have fallen,
you know, prey to one of these scams. They do
have a legal team that's involved in it that can
help you file basically your your lawsuit against the appropriate people,
whether it's just assistance, you know, sometimes they can make calls.
Speaker 3 (01:13:31):
On your behalf.
Speaker 9 (01:13:32):
I have not ever personally had to use it. I
don't think anyone at Bueller has.
Speaker 10 (01:13:36):
Again, one of the things we try to do is
educate our customers ahead of the ahead of time, so
they don't fall prey to these things.
Speaker 9 (01:13:41):
But they can be a great resource for you throughout.
Speaker 10 (01:13:44):
From what I understand, sometimes once they make a call
and people realize, oh, it's not just you know, this
one individual, I'm now facing the whole might of Mayflower
and United Van lines that you know, things magically appear.
And from what I understand, there's also been situations where
they have sent a local agent to go pick up
at the warehouse where it was was taken hostage and
greating it all the way the way through.
Speaker 2 (01:14:07):
The property held for.
Speaker 3 (01:14:09):
Hostage or what were you going to say, is that's
exactly we were always going to go, tom Because now
that they mentioned hostage, I hear about this all the time. Right,
if you don't pay an extra seven grand in cash
upon delivery certified funds, we're not not going to get
your stuff. So how is that, first of all, how
is that even legal or is it ill? But there's
no one.
Speaker 8 (01:14:29):
Here's the problem. There's no law enforcement that's going to
go make an arrest. They're not going to go to
the mover and say you better deliver this stuff. See,
no one really enforces these laws. You you have to
do it civilly after the fact, and very seldom can
you even find the people to sue because there are
so many fragmented parties taking place in this in this
(01:14:49):
moving thing. I mean, there are so many different parties
all over the country, and no one gets prosecuted for it.
Speaker 3 (01:14:55):
No one.
Speaker 10 (01:14:55):
Well, now, Tom, Tom, you'd mentioned, you know, real trucks
with these brokers and that kind of thing. The way
you write, the way you find out out about that
is you go to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety organ Association.
Speaker 9 (01:15:07):
On their website.
Speaker 10 (01:15:08):
You can actually look up whether it's the local agent
whoever you're talking to, and they're going to have their
trucks registered with the Department of Transportation and you can
see their safety ratings.
Speaker 9 (01:15:17):
You can see everything.
Speaker 10 (01:15:17):
But that's how you verify they actually have real trucks
as opposed to just a phone number.
Speaker 3 (01:15:22):
So that's a way to do it.
Speaker 10 (01:15:23):
I would also you know, go on Google Maps and
look at where their their corporate addresses and if they're.
Speaker 3 (01:15:28):
An approved hey, don't tay up front. I think that
was the saying we always talk about.
Speaker 7 (01:15:33):
I think if it's going to backup to avoid the
scams all together. If we talked about brick and mortar,
are they are they associated with a with a major
van Get it. Get an estimator, either out there or
a smaller job can be virtually viewed. Get it in writing,
get a binding estimate. I know, and what you've avoided
(01:15:54):
all of these issues. You know, a lot of times
people see moves from five hundred dollars on the web,
I know, and they get all excited and and we
fight that because we have to convince them that we
we're all out of five hundred dollars.
Speaker 3 (01:16:08):
Moves in my drawer right. If we don't have it,
I can't do any No.
Speaker 8 (01:16:11):
When you're competing with bs, it's hard to compete with them,
and then people come back to you after the fact
and say I should have used you. I got ripped off.
So many people are getting ripped off. The money being
wasted is unbelievably, just unbelieved.
Speaker 3 (01:16:25):
I had a guy called me about six months ago,
same issue. He had five thousand dollars put out already
on a move. They never showed up.
Speaker 7 (01:16:31):
He was fighting with him. I gave him an estimate
for what we would charge. He didn't want to pay it, obviously,
he was I know, a grand and so he said.
I ended up renting a truck and I took care.
Speaker 8 (01:16:42):
You know.
Speaker 3 (01:16:42):
We kept in communication until that which point he said,
this is what I'm going to do. But he lost
the five ag said he's gone spent on this. Cameras
gone never heard from them.
Speaker 8 (01:16:50):
Three oh three seven one three talks number seven one
three eight two five five or three oh three Martino
three oh three six two seven eight four six six.
Speaker 3 (01:17:01):
I know you guys have to run. We appreciate you
being here.
Speaker 8 (01:17:05):
Some of the other big areas of ripoffs have been contractors, okay,
and now with the hailstorm, it's going to be even
more so. I got a call this morning and the
guy just said, we're doing estimates for your insurance. And
truly they are doing estimates for your insurance. I mean
because they want you to put in a claim and
(01:17:26):
they want to do they they want to take that
money up front. So the guy used the presumpt presumptive clothes, saying,
we're doing We're in the neighborhood doing estimates for your insurance.
Will tomorrow at four be okay? Or would five be better?
And I said, who are you? Neither of those times
are good? And are you with my insurance company? No,
(01:17:50):
so we're just trying to help out. I said, yeah, Well,
you said you're doing estimates for my insurance. What you
mean is you're doing estimates so you con collect my
insurance coverage and you want payment on front. People don't
fall for these calls. If you got a call today
or whatever, don't fall for these calls.
Speaker 2 (01:18:07):
Okay.
Speaker 8 (01:18:08):
No one is doing estimates for your insurance company, and
your insurance company will never call you ever and voluntarily
send out an estimator or an adjuster ever.
Speaker 2 (01:18:21):
So you're not going to get a call that would
be incredible.
Speaker 8 (01:18:24):
Yeah, you're not going to get a call saying we'd
like to come out and inspect your home.
Speaker 3 (01:18:27):
It's not going to happen.
Speaker 2 (01:18:29):
Okay.
Speaker 8 (01:18:29):
So you're the one that has to call insurance to
get an adjuster out there, but you don't call insurance
and people ask me, I got this text, Tom, why
do you keep saying not to do that? And I'm
going to tell you why.
Speaker 3 (01:18:42):
Okay.
Speaker 8 (01:18:43):
If you call your insurance company, they have a claim database,
and there's also a clue report. A clue report is
a credit report kind of on your insurance history. So
everyone has a clue report everyone, and what it is
is it's a list of all the claims you've ever
(01:19:03):
gotten and moneys you've collected. If you become someone who
puts in a lot of claims, you're a high risk customer.
And they don't tell you this, but they look at
your clue report and they adjust their premiums to you
based on your clue report. So one of the things
in a clue report is someone who inquires a lot
(01:19:26):
about claims because they figure if you make too many inquiries,
you're trying looking for excuses to collect.
Speaker 2 (01:19:34):
So even though you may call on a.
Speaker 8 (01:19:36):
Hail damage saying I want to know if I have
hail damage, if they come out and say no, you
don't have hail damage, the fact that they came out,
the fact that they answered your question about a claim,
puts you a little higher on the risk scale and
you could pay higher premiums because of it. So what
I always say is you call first your trusted roofer.
Speaker 3 (01:19:59):
We say ex Roofing.
Speaker 8 (01:20:01):
There are others on a referral list, but you want
to call a reputable roofer. You should never have to
sign anything ever in order to get them to look
at your roof and to give you a full estimate.
Another thing I recommend is always, and I'm saying this
because this just happened, we've had fresh hail.
Speaker 2 (01:20:21):
We're gonna have fresh claims.
Speaker 8 (01:20:23):
Do not do not allow that that roofer to say
we'll do whatever your insurance company wants.
Speaker 2 (01:20:30):
You don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:20:31):
You're not going to do whatever the insurance company wants.
You should do what I need.
Speaker 8 (01:20:37):
And the way you know what I need is by
looking at my roof and giving me a full and
complete estimate that I can compare against the insurance company,
and then I can see what I need. Insurance companies
are never going to do that voluntarily. They're never going
to give you the maximum claim and everything you need.
(01:20:58):
That's why you need a roofer to tell you that.
Any roofer who says, don't worry about it will work
with your insurance company. In my opinion, you should not
use that roofer, just my opinion, because you don't want
someone to work with your insurance company. You want someone
who works for you, and then they fight if possible,
(01:21:23):
if necessary, with your insurance to get you what you
have coming. And in really big claims where you have
multiple categories of damage, like you have roofing and windows,
let's say siding, you have decks, painting, you have other
things involved, then we say get a public adjuster. Public
adjusters work for you. They're called public adjusters because they
(01:21:46):
work for the public and they help you get fair
settlements and fair claims from your insurance.
Speaker 3 (01:21:53):
Because your insurance company, remember this, they're going.
Speaker 8 (01:21:56):
To try to pay as little as possible, and a
public adjuster will will try to get you the most
for your claim, not because they want you to have
extra money, because they want you to be fairly treated.
And again most of those companies don't do it voluntarily.
So you need an adjuster on your side, and that
(01:22:18):
is what's called a public adjuster. Not to be mistaken
for an independent we're not independent. Adjusters are simply adjusts
that work from insurance companies and they're hired independently.
Speaker 3 (01:22:31):
A public adjuster works for you.

Speaker 8 (01:23:53):
They are first of all located right here in Denver.
And the rich what's a good fight for you guys.

main line.

That will get you to the to the main number.
And they can get a three quote. We can get
a quote.
Speaker 2 (01:24:15):
How long have you guys been in business?
Speaker 3 (01:24:16):
Bueller?
Speaker 7 (01:24:17):
The company's been around since the early nineteen hundreds, so
it's been a long time.
Speaker 2 (01:24:21):
The Bueller family.
Speaker 3 (01:24:23):
Yeah, Stuarts owned it.
Speaker 7 (01:24:25):
When he purchased it, I think it was probably about
twenty five thirty years ago.
Speaker 8 (01:24:29):
Okay, so kept the name, that kept the name right
and they carry on the same tradition. There are very
few of you longtime movers in Denver still right right,
And they just bought.
Speaker 1 (01:24:40):
You guys recently purchased a local movie student Movers Student
move twenty twelve. Oh okay, that's been a while, myness.
Speaker 13 (01:24:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:24:48):
And that's for local movement.
Speaker 3 (01:24:49):
It's for local moving. Correct?
Speaker 2 (01:24:50):
Is local moving charged differently?
Speaker 3 (01:24:53):
Obviously?
Speaker 8 (01:24:53):
It is?
Speaker 3 (01:24:53):
Right. It's by the hour.
Speaker 7 (01:24:55):
It's by the hours, by the hour, like four guys
in a truck, yeah, exactly. But we tried it to
give them an estimate that's reasonable, and sometimes I'll actually
extended not to exceed on a local move. If I'm
in constant communication with them. We go out and do
the estimate. We get a survey of what's being moved,
what's being packed, so you can you can do it
(01:25:16):
not to exceed on local, but that's rare. But we
want to make sure that we extend that courtesy if
we can be sure.
Speaker 3 (01:25:23):
That what we're doing is what we be.
Speaker 7 (01:25:25):
The wordest thing You've ever moved, The weirdest thing I've
ever moved?
Speaker 3 (01:25:28):
Yeah, well, no I've moved. It was a phone booth
from London. Wow. It was in Connifer, up on top
of a cliff.
Speaker 7 (01:25:39):
We had to get a boom up there and put
it on a flatbed, bring it back to our warehouse
and we stored it for four years before she realized
it wasn't worth the money.
Speaker 3 (01:25:47):
She spent story years four years.
Speaker 7 (01:25:49):
She was moving to Florida, but had no She had
no reason to have it and no place to phone.
A phone booth one of those big red makes me
think of the Beatles. It's still that pavement attached to.
Speaker 3 (01:26:00):
The bottom of the booth. It's like chunks of face.
Does it mean then that Bueler Mayflower also has a
very busy eBay division you sell this? Yeah, that's a
good question. Do people do people abandoned stuff? It happens,
I'm wonder about it at our storage?
Speaker 2 (01:26:16):
Yeah? Oh yeah, how long until you guys can get
rid of it?
Speaker 3 (01:26:20):
Well, it's got to be for non payment? For non
payment typically, I mean like when do you sell it
a year? That's arbitrary. I think it depends on who
it is and our attempts at communication. I gotcha.
Speaker 7 (01:26:30):
Sometimes people string you along say I'm going to tell you,
I'm going.
Speaker 3 (01:26:33):
To catch up on the bill, and you guys move cars.
We do have people that move cars. Yes, Wow about
saves like big guns? We do gun saves. You have
like those special dollars? Yeah, come up. We move roll
We have roller lifts and and kickback dollies. Lift it's
like a it's it's like a lift. Well it's it's
(01:26:53):
it's hydraulic.
Speaker 7 (01:26:55):
Imagine like a four wheel or two wheel dollary, like
an appliance dollie. It's two pieces two secs on either side.
It's strapped in and you can hoist it up off
the floor. So now, you're rolling on larger wheels.
Speaker 1 (01:27:06):
Have you ever seen two guys pick up a refrigerator
and they use those ropes the straps.
Speaker 3 (01:27:13):
It's amazing. It's like it's amazing. I have no idea
how they do it.
Speaker 2 (01:27:19):
It's it looks so hard, but it looks so easy
when they're doing it.
Speaker 7 (01:27:22):
I had a good friend I played music with them,
Innure in Louisiana and his father he was Japanese. His
father owned a moving company and that's what they would use.
It's used to strap refrigerators on their back and walk up.
They just be walking around with the refrigerator. It's like
it's crazy.
Speaker 8 (01:27:38):
Man. You know, moving has to be the toughest job
people can do. It's it's grueling, it is. I mean,
I can't even imagine it's either summer or winter. I mean,
you know, you don't have ideal conditions. No, and you're
you're working your ass off, you really are.
Speaker 3 (01:27:55):
You can't. You can't be lazy and be in the
moving business.
Speaker 1 (01:27:57):
No, it's it's a tough wordy And what was a
kid nowadays? Well, if you guys hire someone, do you
pay them per hour?
Speaker 3 (01:28:04):
I just care an hour.
Speaker 7 (01:28:05):
Sometimes it's like fifteen to twenty an hour depends sometimes
more than that, depending on their skills. Set sure and
if they have a CDL for example, that's a big one.
Speaker 3 (01:28:13):
Yeah, and tips they get tipsy. Oh yeah. Service industry
fifteen to twenty doesn't sound like a whole lot considering
not for the hard work.
Speaker 7 (01:28:23):
I get customers asking me all the time, what do
I tip? And it's a hard thing to answer. Yeah,
how do I answer that?
Speaker 3 (01:28:29):
You know? I you know, I give them an answer,
but it's.
Speaker 2 (01:28:32):
Well, I never like more.
Speaker 8 (01:28:33):
If they do more, they if they take time to
set it somewhere and to really use care and they're
not breaking anything, then they would deserve more of a
tip than these guys at rush in and rush out.
Speaker 7 (01:28:44):
And we teach our guys that have self respect. Not
everybody can do what we do. Not everybody wants to do.
When we're moving multimillion dollar homes, and he might be
a CEO or a high end lawyer, he's not going
to want to.
Speaker 3 (01:28:58):
Do that, or a big time radio time.
Speaker 8 (01:29:01):
Yeah, you know what, I've moved so many times in
my life I can't even imagine. I mean, and I
took a lot of john probably that didn't have to
be moved. But you know, and in those days, I
don't know if it's still you know, corporates would pay
for the move.
Speaker 2 (01:29:15):
TV stations would pay to move.
Speaker 8 (01:29:17):
So corporate moves that they're still big, right, Yes, they
move their executive We.
Speaker 7 (01:29:22):
Do national accounts, yes, so interstate. We do a lot
of military as well. In the color of springs are but.
Speaker 8 (01:29:29):
I also read where the moving is really diminished because
almost anyone can work from anywhere except you know, I
mean true. I was talking to my dentists today and
I said, you can't work from home. Your people can't,
but almost everyone else does. All of the big office
buildings that support her practice around the DTC, they're all people.
(01:29:49):
Are you have empty office space? I mean office space
is a terrible investment right now.
Speaker 2 (01:29:55):
It is real estate.
Speaker 8 (01:29:56):
It's really terrible, and a lot of I think that's
going to be the next big recess. Not a recession
for the entire economy, but but commercial real estate is
going to take a giant hit.
Speaker 7 (01:30:10):
Well, they're converting a lot of them to residential downtown,
that's right, like malls too.
Speaker 13 (01:30:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (01:30:15):
Yeah, And then there was a time when marijuana took
up a lot of warehouse space. I don't know if
that's still happening or not. I really don't know what
you used to anyway. Three oh three seven one three

okay if your kids are struggling just to get into a,
(01:44:25):

they have to put away mentally and really in a bank.
Somewhere they have to have accounted for depreciation and wearing
out of.
Speaker 3 (01:44:36):
Things in the.
Speaker 8 (01:44:37):
Future so if they buy a used, house which most
of them, do and they're buying a house let's say
that's ten fifteen years, old they're going to have to
figure that furnace is going to be replaced someday.
Speaker 3 (01:44:47):
Soon if it's the original.
Speaker 8 (01:44:49):
Furnace they have to figure out water heaters and different
kinds of components in a home that will eventually need.
Replacing so they don't be so they're not, caught as they,
say with the pants. Down they need to account for those.
Costs so it's WHAT i call. It it's the what
is known as an amortized cost of. Ownership so even
(01:45:10):
though you can afford the mortgage payment and the taxes
and the, insurance you have to account secretly and a
little account somewhere for inevitable expenses that will come. Up
that's WHAT i meant do a budget of and then
divide it by number of, Years like for, example if
(01:45:31):
you take a, furnace it's a twenty year, thing and
if it's, fifteen you got five years. Left how much
it will cost to replace, it and you literally have
to account for that. Amount that doesn't mean if you
don't have it each and every month you're, failing but
you have to at some point have that money saved
so you're not caught by. Surprise so when you're helping

been talking about moving and moving. Scams what else is going?
On did you see the governor's? DEBATE i watched about
five or ten minutes of. It i'm still, baffled.
Speaker 1 (01:47:15):
Baffled Why Kyle clark because Of channel, nine it doesn't.
Speaker 4 (01:47:19):
Matter Why why would three conservatives want one of the
biggest liberals in town to.
Speaker 3 (01:47:24):
Do here's WHAT i gotta. Say even know what it's.
Speaker 2 (01:47:26):
SAYING i know what you're, saying BUT i have.

To tell YOU i watched.
Speaker 8 (01:47:30):
It it's like Having Katie curic do no PUBLIC i
know what you're, saying but if you listen to his,
QUESTIONS i swear to, you every single question came from their.
Speaker 2 (01:47:41):
Platforms he did not make anything.
Speaker 8 (01:47:43):
Up in other, words they're so ridiculous in and of
themselves that it's it's self. Made in other, words Asking
Kyle clark saying why did you make them look? Bad
he did not make them look. Bad he took from
their own, platforms and they look bad because he would
(01:48:04):
ask them questions about their own. PLATFORMS i was expecting
more of a biased. Discussion and THEN i, figured you know,
what this guy's got it, Right like when he did
the with With, marx when he did The Victor, marx
when he did the, interview all he had to do
was go To Victor marx's website and use his own
(01:48:26):
stuff Against.
Speaker 4 (01:48:26):
That goes back to exactly WHAT i was, saying why
would these people do? This at a Hile clark, ironic
BUT i agree with you they're, Morons.
Speaker 8 (01:48:36):
Yes exactly, so even if a conservative, host for, example.
Speaker 1 (01:48:41):
They could have made it look a hell of a
lot better than. THAT i don't know how you make
them look.
Speaker 3 (01:48:46):
Good they're so. Idiotic, Again we're going to have.
Speaker 8 (01:48:48):
Another Democratic democrat, governor and the reason is is that
The republicans don't put anybody up not. HERE i, mean
in this, state we've had crazy people running for. Governor
we've not had any viable candidates for. Governor you, Know
i'd like to See Dan kaplis run one. TIME i
wish you. WOULD i, mean it's too late now this,
(01:49:10):
cycle but why wouldn't he run somebody like, THAT a
viable somebody with, intelligence somebody that has something to. Offer
that's what we need in any. CASE i was, thinking you,
know what THOSE i forget who is With? Clark but
He Kyle. Clark, anyway the people asking the questions did
(01:49:32):
not have to did not have to go out of
their way to make people look. Bad But Victor marx
is almost unbelievable to. Me he is a freaking cartoon.
CHARACTER i don't even understand how he is even. On
will he become the? CANDIDATE i will be so. SHOCKED
(01:49:53):
i will be so shocked if he's the. Candidate have
you ever heard?
Speaker 12 (01:49:56):
Him?
Speaker 3 (01:49:57):
Oh, Yeah. Tom in, fact we've had a discussion about
him a couple of, times and you may recall The
Deputy bow he's been trying to get him to call
into the radio show he. Does that's gonna.
Speaker 8 (01:50:06):
Happen, no, no, no he's been. On he's been on
a few, shows and every show he goes. On Peter
boyles interviewed him our own Chilling uh he didn't He
ryan he interviewed, him, right Didn't Ryan shieling interviewed? Y
Has Michael brown interviewed? Him he won't talk To Michael
brown because he's, Mean, Right that's what he said, Exactly
(01:50:28):
and then he Called. Kyle he called one of the hosts.
Mean the other day, look he thinks he's. Funny Victor
marx is really really. FUNNY i mean to sit, there this,
guy he is just perpetrating the biggest fraud in public.
LIFE I i can't believe people will vote for, him
but he'll he'll get the, nomination probably because that's how
(01:50:51):
crazy people are. NOWADAYS i just, wish AS i, said
there would be viable, candidates because we're gonna end. Up
we're just gonna end up with the same a lopsided.
Government in state, government they get their, way they do
whatever they, want and then the people suffer for it
because this, state this state is you, know they can
(01:51:12):
do anything they. Want i'm not suggesting it should be
lopsided the other. WAY i think the best government is
when you have balance back and. Forth, Jeffrey welcome to the.
Speaker 3 (01:51:25):
Show.
Speaker 8 (01:51:25):
Jeffrey what's going? On you have a comment on? Moving
we had our experts on and they're in the. Industry what's, Happening, Jeffrey, WOW.
Speaker 3 (01:51:35):
I was just.
Speaker 15 (01:51:36):
LISTENING i myself have done a lot of moving and

the sixties and, seventies she made us understand what the
word tips. Means it means to ensure prompt. Service that's
(01:52:17):
what tipped to.
Speaker 13 (01:52:18):
Ensure you.
Speaker 3 (01:52:19):
KNOW i heard that.
Speaker 8 (01:52:20):
Before, Again i'm not sure that's where it came, from
but it sounds as good as any Story i've.
Speaker 15 (01:52:25):
Heard, absolutely So i'd say say that to my waitresses
or waiters When i'm.
Speaker 13 (01:52:32):
OUT i, said if you can tell me.
Speaker 3 (01:52:35):
What a tip, is what it what it, means what it,
carris then Then i'll give you.
Speaker 11 (01:52:41):

Speaker 3 (01:52:44):
Tip, YEAH I i tip all the.
Speaker 2 (01:52:46):
Time the kids they're working.
Speaker 15 (01:52:48):
As people to understand that that you need you need
to show show the people that you're you're doing the work.
Speaker 3 (01:52:57):
For, yeah but it doesn't work that.
Speaker 1 (01:52:58):
Way your, Response, yeah it does work that, way, right
what they expect the? Tip, yeah whether you get give
service or bad, service you tip, differently be, honest, right
do you You?
Speaker 2 (01:53:12):
WELL i won't ever Not.
Speaker 4 (01:53:14):
Starbucks you order your fourteen name. Drink do you care
who makes? It do they put a smiley face? On
BUT i do the, Same, yeah, YEAH i give the.
Same now as far as excellent, Service i'll give a higher.
Tip BUT i NEVER i. NEVER i used to years.
Speaker 8 (01:53:28):
Ago if somebody gave bad, SERVICE i would Stiff AND
i don't do that. ANYMORE i, figure you know, what
they got their own thing going. On BUT i do
sometimes mention to the manager or, somebody BUT i still.
TIP i don't use the tip as an expression of.
DISPLEASURE i, MEAN i guess if it was so, terrible if.
Speaker 2 (01:53:47):
You tip, somebody if it's horrible, SERVICE.
Speaker 3 (01:53:50):
I JUST i don't all these people give horrible.
Speaker 8 (01:53:53):
Service, No i'm you're, Right, Mark i'm SAYING i don't
Think i've ever had recently such hard service that it
would warrant stiffing.
Speaker 2 (01:54:02):
THEM i, MEAN i haven't have you had that?
Speaker 3 (01:54:04):
Anytime?
Speaker 8 (01:54:05):
REALLY i, mean you don't get that bad of a
service where you could actually, Say i'm not going to
tip this, me BUT i.
Speaker 4 (01:54:12):
Refuse And i've changed my ways at breweries, PROBABLY.
Speaker 2 (01:54:17):
I don't know about a month. Ago one dollar a
beer for someone that hands me a.
Speaker 3 (01:54:22):
Beer that's.
Speaker 2 (01:54:22):
It i'm done tipping twenty percent for five seconds of.
Interaction i'm.
Speaker 3 (01:54:27):
Doing you're right about. That you're.
Speaker 4 (01:54:29):
Right and when they hand you THE i don't lame With.
Starbucks one buck for a. Drink one, buck that's, it no,
more not twenty, percent no, way, RIGHT i see what you're.
Speaker 8 (01:54:39):
Saying and when they hand you the iPad and there's
no service involved at, all that work and go to
custom and you got to change.
Speaker 4 (01:54:46):
It, yeah, yeah they're going. There, yeah but think of
what this guy is. Saying here's WHAT i love about
what he's. Saying AND i realized. It here's what's. Happened
it's become, automatic forced into. Tipping you're, right it's become.
Automatic you're absolutely. Right it's become, Automatic.
Speaker 8 (01:55:03):
Dimitri have you seen have you ever HAD i, mean
do you tip first of, all based on the level of?
Speaker 3 (01:55:08):
Service? YEAH i. DO i like, YOU i always do.
Tip And mark And susan AND i had this discussion
not too long ago because we had a pretty disappointing
experience over there at The viewhouse at The Tech. Center
the food was, phenomenal but the service really. SUCKED i
mean we were just completely. Abandoned and we still ended up. Tipping,
Now mark And seuss picked up the, tab but you still. Tipped.
(01:55:31):
Right we didn't stiff anybody over.
Speaker 4 (01:55:33):
There, yeah we, probably, yeah but not not a. LOT
i can tell you, that, right, right, Right AND i
think that IS i kind of.
Speaker 3 (01:55:39):
HUNT i think it was.
Speaker 4 (01:55:40):
Three it was like four or five of. US i,
mean if it was around one hundred, bucks they might
have got five bucks out.
Speaker 8 (01:55:45):
Of me that.
Speaker 3 (01:55:45):
Day, Yeah and you, know and then a few weeks
LATER i went there with some friends to celebrate my
birthday because the food is phenomenal and that service was even,
worse and we were like among only three tables that
were occupied that. Weeknight So, tom to answer your question,
DIRECTLY i don't stiff them for bad. Service but Like
mark said, that the tip actually declines as a percentage
(01:56:06):
of the. Bill, YEAH i.
Speaker 8 (01:56:07):
HAVE i have complained before to the manager AND i,
say you, know this is blah blah, blah and you,
know BUT i still. TIP i remember the best line.
Speaker 2 (01:56:17):
One let me ask you guys something here on tipping
though pool.
Speaker 4 (01:56:21):
TIPPING i, mean, okay let's say you had horrible, service that's,
great but they pull all the, tips so everybody either
gets punished or everybody gets the.
Speaker 2 (01:56:32):
BENEFIT i think pool tipping. Sucks, NO i don't like pool.
TIP i don't like it at.
Speaker 3 (01:56:36):
All actually tip. Pool so we went to. Pooling we
went to a restaurant the other.
Speaker 8 (01:56:41):
Night it's a good restaurant last, night and they put
in they built in a twenty two.
Speaker 2 (01:56:47):
Percent service and how much did you? Tip on top of?
Speaker 3 (01:56:50):
It they did have a?
Speaker 8 (01:56:51):
Tip how much did you? TIP i tipped ten Bucks
because here's why.
Speaker 3 (01:56:55):
You're part of the. Problem in addition to the twenty
two percent that they.
Speaker 8 (01:56:59):
For, something it was an expensive. Bill now here's WHAT
i said to, HER i, said do you get this
twenty two? Percent she, goes, no it's split among. Everyone
SO i, figured, okay it's not her.
Speaker 2 (01:57:09):
FAULT i don't like. That we're paying their, employees is
what you basically?
Speaker 8 (01:57:13):
Said, yeah but because if you, didn't then the prices
would be. More it all comes out in the. WASH i,
mean let's face, it it all comes. Out you're not
going to get we. Have we.
Speaker 3 (01:57:22):
Have our favorite brewery is probably.

on the little. Thing there's no, tip no, tips no,
tips no.
Speaker 2 (01:57:33):
Kind OF i like.
Speaker 3 (01:57:34):
THAT i love it no. TIPS i, mean do you
think we should ever go to that? System? Oh, yeah Like,
europe aren't they pretty much the same way? Now they
don't do. TIPPING i don't THINK i would like it.
Speaker 8 (01:57:46):
If you just, had you, know if basically even if
the prices were a little higher and you didn't have
to worry about a.
Speaker 3 (01:57:53):
Tip and Then i'll tell you one that pisses me.
Speaker 8 (01:57:55):
Off.
Speaker 4 (01:57:56):

let's say it's a nice, hotel a nice, hotel and
people are there and they're taking care of you while you're,
there you, know ten twenty bucks a day is. Great,
Yeah but If i'm at a hotel and they don't
even want to give me a towel or something because
they've got some weird deal to be green or to
(01:58:17):
save money or some crap like, THAT i won't even

Speaker 2 (01:58:21):
Cents you, know the housekeeping ones are.

appleair Dot. Com so let's, uh by the, way this
is going to Frost MARK i know it is because
whenever we talk about this The Affordable Care. Act by the,
way for the first time, ever according to a national,
survey you're not going to believe this health insurance is
(02:06:58):
more than the average house.
Speaker 3 (02:06:59):
PAYMENT i believe.
Speaker 8 (02:07:00):
It health insurance are far our say far is more
than an average healthcare and they call it affordable. Healthcare
now you know HOW i feel about insurance let. Alone
this affordable healthcare was the dumbest thing that ever. Happened
here's what they really. Did here's what affordable healthcare. Did
it opened Up medicaid okay to more. People that PART
(02:07:21):
i think was kind of good for low income. Earners
but then it also subsidized a great number of people
on the lower end of the income, sale so they
get affordable, healthcare but everyone else. Pays in, fact probably
the top seventy five percent pay more than ever. Before
(02:07:43):
and the so called affordable healthcare insurance is THE aca,
premiums where are mostly taxpayer. Funded they have gone up
more than twenty seven percent in the last few since
twenty like twenty twenty.
Speaker 3 (02:08:01):
One WAS covid whenever that was twenty seven to thirty.
Speaker 8 (02:08:04):
Percent in, fact some rates are as high as fifty
nine percent hikes in a single, year all by these
so called wonderful affordable care, plans the affordable pair it's
really a. Joke, now if you are lucky enough to
get a subsidized, plan not only have you been, subsidized
(02:08:27):
but now you're going to have to come up with
a huge deductible before you even get. Coverage United healthcare
is one of the worst signa, group by the, way
had to pay one hundred and seventy two million dollars
for false claims they've made about their affordable Care kaiser
permanenty affiliates paid five hundred and fifty six million to
(02:08:48):
settle similar. Charges this is a Corporate here's what's. Happening
the health insurance companies are charging more and doing. Less bottom,
line it's the only, Industry i've said this, before the
only industry where the only way to make more money
is to do less, service to do less. Service and
(02:09:11):
by the, Way, congress they're writing blank cheps checks to
these participating. Companies there's three one hundred and twelve insurance
companies participating in THE aca, Marketplace so three hundred and
twelve insurance, companies and they are the ones that are
raising premiums twenty seven to fifty nine percent year over,
(02:09:34):
year and the increases go on every single. Year and what,
happens you just increase your. Subsidy so people are getting
more government subsidies and they're getting more tax breaks for less.
Speaker 1 (02:09:47):
Service at this, Point i'm starting to believe In medicare for, all,
honestly for.
Speaker 3 (02:09:51):
Everybody well you know WHAT i. Mean at least it
would keep the care the costs.
Speaker 8 (02:09:56):
DOWN i look AT i pay a lot for My
medicare cup verage for my, supplement but it is the
best DEAL i ever.
Speaker 3 (02:10:03):
Had but it's a lot of.
Speaker 1 (02:10:05):
Money at least it would be fair if everybody got
the same, Thing it would be.
Speaker 2 (02:10:09):
Fair right, now it's not fair at. All, no it's
not fair at.
Speaker 8 (02:10:12):
All in, fact the people who are getting the subsidized,
plans the subsidized, plans pay the least amount of money
and they get they get, mediocre mediocre coverage at. Best
but What obama, did really and His, congress what they
did was they gave three hundred twelve companies a license to.
(02:10:34):
Steal three hundred and twelve companies a license to. Steal
they keep raising premiums and they keep lowering.
Speaker 2 (02:10:42):
What horrible will.
Speaker 3 (02:10:44):
Cover it's more than.
Speaker 8 (02:10:46):
Horrible, Frank, yaron you want to talk About you have
a question for, Me, frank there you, Go, frank what's?
Speaker 12 (02:10:54):
Happening, yeah you KNOW i closed an account with a. Bank,
yeah about twenty. Nineteen, yes it's hard to, remember But
i'm more than positive THAT i didn't have any balance with.
THEM i had only gotten a loan with. Them BUT
i got my title, Back SO i think that it's
(02:11:19):
THAT i don't own. Anything but they sold that debt
to someone.
Speaker 3 (02:11:22):
Else they sold Ab what debt was it that they sold?
Speaker 2 (02:11:26):
It it must have been from like an overdraft or.
Something they're. Claiming it could have been a credit card with.
Speaker 12 (02:11:32):
Them, OH i could look up my.
Speaker 2 (02:11:35):
Receiving how old is the debt, though that's the important.
Speaker 12 (02:11:37):
Thing it's about seven.
Speaker 3 (02:11:38):
Years, well if it's over, six they can't get a
judgment any.
Speaker 17 (02:11:42):
Longer SO i don't want to answer, them, though that's
right the. News, well if they're serving, you you better answer. Them,
Yeah but of course they have six years to collect
on that debt from the time it's, due or they
lose their right to get a. Judgment they can resurrect
that right to get a judgment by doing a new.
Agreement and what they do is they, say, hey just
(02:12:06):
pay us this much and we'll call it.
Speaker 2 (02:12:07):
Good and then you call.
Speaker 8 (02:12:09):
It you pay them that much without a settlement, agreement
and they have just tricked you into a new statute of.
Speaker 2 (02:12:16):
Limitations so that's WHAT i.
Speaker 12 (02:12:18):
Thought IF i even answered, them, right.
Speaker 8 (02:12:20):
Well, no answering them won't do. It answering them will
will make it easier for them to harass. You but
and by the, way after six years they can still,
collect but they. CAN'T i, mean they can try to,
collect but they can't get a. Judgment so in, essence
it takes all the teeth out of the collection. Effort
(02:12:41):
so whether you want to answer or, NOT i wouldn't.
Answer IF i knew the debt was more than six
years DO i would never answer.
Speaker 2 (02:12:49):
It and don't let them trick like.
Speaker 8 (02:12:51):
That how much are they saying it? Is that's, Right
tricking is the is the. Word how much are they
saying you.
Speaker 12 (02:12:56):
Owe four thousands for one and one thousand for the.
Other that's why it seems the four thousand sounds like that.
Loan BUT i JUST i Figured i'm not gonna ask.
Speaker 6 (02:13:07):
You what was the.
Speaker 2 (02:13:08):
Loan do you remember what the loan was.
Speaker 12 (02:13:09):
FOR i did have a loan at one time for
a mount for about that, amount and it was it
was just a personal. Loan and they had my title
to a, vehicle and they sent me back the. Letter
And i'm pretty SURE i still have that. Letter i'm
pretty SURE i did that Says, okay it's paid. Him,
fool here's your title.
Speaker 1 (02:13:29):
Back it's odd that they're Even, yeah what they're doing
is ghosting or who, wizard who's trying To here's what
happens a lot of these corporations by bad.
Speaker 8 (02:13:40):
Debt they go out they, literally like for his four
thousand dollars, debt say it was my. Bank, well it's
a collector. Bank it's a collector he, says it's a
collector for the. Bank or the bank he, said they sold.
Speaker 12 (02:13:52):
The collector for the.
Speaker 3 (02:13:53):
Bank.
Speaker 8 (02:13:53):
Okay see what, Happens, frank is let's say you have
a four thousand dollars loan and they, say, hey this
thing is over the, statue we can't. Collect and what
they do is they might pay on that four thousand dollars.
Loan they might pay forty dollars for. It they might
pay less than. That now they get that, loan and
if they can trick, you then they collect from you
(02:14:14):
because it's not illegal to try to collect on that.
Debt in, fact they can try to collect all they,
want but they can't get a. Judgment so what they
do is that even if they settled with you for
if they paid forty bucks for, that and if they
settle with you for fifty.
Speaker 2 (02:14:31):
Dollars they made ten.
Speaker 3 (02:14:32):
DOLLARS i.
Speaker 8 (02:14:33):
Mean but they buy massive amounts of debt for, pennies
and then they go out and try to collect, it
and they try to trick people into starting new agreements with,
them like just pay us this much a, month or
just do, this or just do, that whatever you, do
don't ever invoke a new agreement with, them and don't
(02:14:53):
send them a, payment or you will resurrect the. Debt
and that's what they. Do they buy massive debt and
then they go out and try to trick. People so
it's a good, thing you recognize. That, again, man they
do that all the. Time in, fact there are people
that are being hounded for ten year old debts and
they're being, told, listen why don't we put this away
(02:15:15):
once and for, all send us this, much we'll call it.
Speaker 3 (02:15:18):
Good, well, well let's.
Speaker 1 (02:15:19):
Not forget, though if they actually got a judgment and
they renew, it, well they could be collecting a twenty
year debt.
Speaker 8 (02:15:24):
If truly there was a judgment. Rendered, Frank that's one,
thing if there is a, judgment but you can find
that out easy enough by just searching for your name and.
JUDGMENTS i, mean if you have a judgment against, you
that's one. Thing but most of the time they are not.
Judgments they are just old debts that they sold for
(02:15:45):
pennies on the. Dollar Does lexus like If frank wanted
to find out if he had a judgment against, him
what's the easiest way to do, That, Dmitri, well lexis.
Speaker 3 (02:15:55):
Nexus, NO i have access to a different database For
colorado civil, suit AND i can run his name through
there to see if it pops up with anything.
Speaker 8 (02:16:03):
That would be that that, is but where do normal
people just go to find that? OUT i wonder credit
reports would have.
Speaker 3 (02:16:10):
It credit reports would have. It they can also show
up at the courthouse where in the jurisdiction where they
live or where they think they may have been, sued
and ask the court clerk if there are any cases
with their name on it and then they can get
a print out of the.
Speaker 2 (02:16:22):
Cost there was just one.
Speaker 1 (02:16:24):
Database it's almost impossible to do a background check on
people now really because of all the different all the
different states and. Jurisdy we can go To colorado courts
like he's talking. About but it has nothing to do
with what happened In oklahoma five.
Speaker 3 (02:16:38):
Hours that's.
Speaker 8 (02:16:38):
True but as far as civil, cases does it take
into consideration, county state and federal or just one or the?
Speaker 3 (02:16:47):
Other? Uh all the courts In? Colorado, Yes so the
DATABASE i use takes care of all the state courts
in the, state.
Speaker 2 (02:16:55):
But including the counties part not.
Speaker 3 (02:16:59):
Federal, yeah, Exactly so county courts are. Considered they're called
state Coll, Okay, god but you know one thing That
frank might want to consider is who's the actual collection.
Agency if it's a debt, buyer then they're not trying
to collect a. Judgment, frank who what's the name of
the of the scumback bill collector that's calling?
Speaker 12 (02:17:16):
YOU i got to find it.
Speaker 3 (02:17:19):
Anyway you gotta take this.
Speaker 12 (02:17:20):
BREAK i, mean OTHERWISE i would Have dmitry look it.
Speaker 2 (02:17:23):
Up but, okay we we need to we need to
take this. Break we got more coming right.
Speaker 3 (02:17:26):
Up
