Speaker 1 (00:00):
You spent your day doing something yesterday that I haven't
done in so long. Yeah, which is just to take
me myself and I to a theater somewhere to see
a movie.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Yeah, we got some. You know. I always make sure
that I get stuff done for the day the next
day before. And it was clear and I had half
an hour left, so I just was like, okay, I'm going.
It's noon, the noon showing of Superman. And went to
go see that yesterday and there was, you know, a
smaller crowd, which it was a good time to go.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
That's the best time to go when there's other people,
not other people in there.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Yeah, and I'm I'm good to.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
I have some.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
I have some not nitpick not about the movie. I
have some beefs with people that go to the movies.
And I gotta tell you, if you're gonna go see
a good movie and you're in there in the dark
with a big screen that's gonna be exciting, turn off
your damn cell phone. I'm telling you right now. I can't.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
They tell you.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
They warn you. They say it on a big screen
that's huge, it's loud, it's dark, and you feel the
need to pull out your cell phone. I didn't even
take mine in the car. I left mine in the car.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
It's a if it's a bad movie, turn off your
cell phone, turn off. I paid for this ticket. Turn
off the cell phone.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
Now I have a pretty he still got a pretty
decent arm. And from a throwing standpoint, this happened twice.
Now I did this. This was I went to go
see Thunderbolts, uh, the Avengers, you know, saga kind of stuff.
This guy had his not only cell phone on during
the movie, he had it above the seat, so there
was this light glaring, and uh, I was I chucked

(01:34):
popcorn at him.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
What was he doing? Covert recording? Trying to get like
a no.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
He was reading from what I could tell, because I
mean the phone was a sign of a satellite dish
that I was like, what are you doing? So he
wasn't getting a nod on the popcorn, and he did
it one more time. So if you've never been scared before,
and I probably should have done this, but I was
not in the mood. I leaned over just enough till

(02:00):
I could get to the left of his chair, so
all he heard was a voice in the dark, and
I said, turn it off. And I mean, he dropped
his phone, and maybe I shouldn't have done that because
of the kind.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
Of you know you live in.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
The reason I don't go to movies for the most
part anymore, because I mean, look, I'm an old guy.
I don't need to fight six kids behind me. They
don't want to kick the seats and so forth. Well
this was a grugal act. Yeah, yeah, I think they're
in their living room. You're not watching Netflix on the sofa.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
Shut up?

Speaker 2 (02:31):
Yeah yeah, And it happened yesterday. And people that stand
up and I've never understood and this is this is
not dislike or like. I personally have never understood people
that go into the theater And what was I going
to say? I just lost my train of thought. That
don't see the previews. There's some really good previews that

(02:52):
come on before so you can check out what's happening,
and they're so well done. I've never understood people that
miss it, that come in during in the middle of
a preview. I mean I understand it for them anyway.
I just I love it.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
I never cared about the previews. I just wanted to
be there for the dancing popcorn. But let's us go
to the lobby. I missed that.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
Yeah, well, I mean, and the other thing is stop
showing commercials, so stop showing commercials in the theater. Outside
of that. By the way, Superman is a really fun.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
Makes a very good movie. You get to talk about this.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
You've already told me that John williams orchestration is not there,
which is a letdown for me.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
There is a very soft nod to it at the
very beginning, with just the soft horn of the and
you're in it.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
Okay, okay.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
After that they do a more orchestrated, updated version I
guess of it, and it's still inspiring. It's just not
John Williams.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
I've seen the commercials and the trailer and so forth,
with the crypto dragging him back to the fortress and
he's all busted up. And now see that moment right there,
because obviously that's early in the movie. They've got to
they got to fix him, so we get a movie
when he comes out of that after getting repaired by
all his people or his robots or whatever that I need.

(04:07):
I need that, so I will probably just put an
earbut in and when that moment happens out this place, well,
that happens right away.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
So get ready, because I mean that that's.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
How the movie opened. There you go, That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
So I need that when Superman flies out of there
strong again, I.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
Just I just I need that movie.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
You're gonna have to watch it. And the other thing
I will tell you is that it's a keep in
mind that that Superman was made in Cleveland. The original movie.
The comic book was written in nineteen thirty eight. So
he has an old school uniform. You're not gonna see
this jacked up gen z. You know, Ai driven. It's

(04:46):
an old school out It's an old school outfit that
he has. On that being said, this guy is, in
my opinion, a very very good Superman. I'll put him
up there. I didn't think I would, but I'll put
him at number two behind Christopher Reeve. He's fantastic. The
guy who plays Lex Luthor is awesome. The dog Crypto,

(05:08):
by the way, is great. It's great. It plays a
good part in it, and there's parts where you just
love it. But there's a they show the human side
of Superman.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
We were talking after the show yesterday. When I was
a kid, Crypto was the dog of super Boy, which
super boy, I don't think it exists anymore. He's never
even referenced. Yeah, so I think he has just been eliminated.
But you were telling me Crypto was before that. I
guess that was Superman's dog. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
From what I understanding, there was a that's why they covered.
If you've ever seen the anim movie DC super Pets,
the Pets of the Superheroes is in it, and I
think that sets it up. I also want to say,
in no disrespect, I like Dean Kane. I do, but
it's clear that he did not see the movie when
he said I'm afraid it's going to be woke. There
are no woke references. There is no kind of that

(06:01):
would lead someone of that thought process to say this
is a woke movie. It is simply a superhero movie
with monsters and feel good stuff and criminals and it's
it's just go see it. It's fun. James Gunn adds
that that witty humor to the actors like he did
in the original Guardians of the Galaxy, so you'll enjoy that.

(06:24):
There's serious parts, and I mean it's it's very it's
a good movie.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
So any truth to all the social media rumors here,
you help me out. I'll just take the work. Is
in this movie? Is Superman? Or is he not a
black woman?

Speaker 2 (06:36):
He is not.

Speaker 3 (06:36):
He's not a black woman. Is is he a Perry White?
Is black? Perry White is black? Really? Yes? The Daily
Reporter is getting progressives.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
He's a great he's and he's a good actor. You'll
know him right when you see him, and you you
enjoy him. He's all the characters, the young woman who
plays Lois Lane, all the actors are great, the cat,
the ensemble is well done. But just go see the
movie and have fun and quit worrying about what social
media people are saying before they've even seen the movie.

(07:09):
I went saw it. I kept an open mind, and
it's good. It's just a good, solid movie.

Speaker 3 (07:14):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
Thank you for going and seeing it and for bringing
this report back because I I've been very adamant.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
I love Superman. I wanted to go see it.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
As they said, Jili heleven comes to theaters, I'm like,
I want to be there. But then all these people
saying all this stuff about you know, you know he's
going to be a communist agents and Kumba Yado and
all that stuff.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
I just couldn't bring myself.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
To do it. Well, keep in mind too, and you
know there's part of the storyline where you know, you
get it. It's all good, it's got some twists and
turns into it. But I also want to warn those
that are classic Superman people like yourself, Chuck. I. We
all so remember Christopher Reeve, and so remember his mystique
and the way he acts, the kind of Superman he is.

(07:59):
This Superman is is a little different. So if you
can keep an open mind and just know that all
the fundamental good things about Superman apply to this guy,
then you'll be fine. If you're waiting for it to
be a Christopher Reeve, you just it won't happen. Just
just get involved in Superman and you'll be fine.

Speaker 3 (08:21):
We give AI time. The next Superman may be Christopher Reeve.

Speaker 2 (08:25):
Well, they already aied him in that Flash movie and
they did an ode to Christopher Reeve and that was
about as freaky as I've ever.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
Seen one at the end where they nick Cage was Superman.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
Yeah, but to see Christopher even the woman who played
Supergirl original Supergirl from that movie standing next to each
other like that's just.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
The CW TV show Supergirl was actually pretty dull, going
good the girl on that and I kind of miss that.

Speaker 3 (08:54):
I wish that would have become.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
And keep in mind too, and there's one last scene
that's a little bit of a twist at the end
you kind of dig all so, which shows that they
are going to expand this a little bit. Oh of course,
but just when it and it has to do with
Superman and what we're talking about right now.

Speaker 3 (09:08):
There must always be a sequel. That's the rule in Hollywood.
