Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, as we're coming back from this break, it's sad
news out of Washington, d C. Two National Guard members
are dead after being shot near the White House.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
The president is in maur Lago.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
I don't believe Jade Vance, Vice President is in town either.
But these were two National Guard members who were shot
just blocks from the White House. And both of those
National Guard members were from West Virginia. So yep, they
lost their lives in the service of this country. And yeah,

(00:40):
this is a I'm not sure exactly how this played out, why,
what happened to any of that that it's still developing
at this point. Have you seen anything, don Don Ross
rosswell otherweisors is in studio.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
With me and no, we're watching it develop right here. Okay,
I think they were targeted. And yeah, being a thirty
year National Guard member and serving wearing that uniform, it
really takes me often some coward had to take these
guys out.

Speaker 4 (01:04):
By day, a woman and a man.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
Prayers for their family. Not that it's ever a good
time for anything like this, but I feel like it
hits extra hard.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
During the oh Jesus, the holidays.

Speaker 4 (01:15):
You know, it's like awful, so awful.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
It is awful and prayers go out to like I said,
their families and so on, and thanks so much for
the ultimate sacrifice from these two.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
I mean, gosh, man, he is host of on Target.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
He's also under of LAPD Firearms and Range on Bethel Road,
and also law enforcement.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Eric Delbert is joining us.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
And Eric, as you saw that news that we were
just talking about, I mean, incredibly sad. It's something that
you stare you face every day as well as all
of the men and women of law enforcement in addition
to armed forces. But incredibly sad, no question about it.

Speaker 5 (01:54):
It is. It is sickening. Anytime you hear these stories
of whether it's our men and women in the military
or our law enforcement on the street, it's sad. And
it's sad when they're targeted for no other reason than
wearing the uniform and protecting the rest of us. It's
really sickening. I mean, it hits close to home I
know for all of us, and man, you wish it

(02:16):
wasn't true.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
You know also too, Eric, and I think about this
all the time. I have so many law enforcement friends.
Once upon a time I was looking into going down
that road. I actually was thinking of getting into law
enforcement once upon a time, and I think about it
all the time for you guys, all the men and
women in blue who every traffic stop, every run that

(02:38):
you go on could unfortunately be your last. And you know, people,
if you start sitting and thinking about that, you go,
oh my gosh, it takes a special DNA for somebody
who would say, okay, I'll do this. Yeah, it's a living.
It is a you know, it's something that I do
for a living. But for you to serve the pub

(03:00):
like that, and you know, especially usually it's not anything
other than just some dirtbag who decided to, you know,
try to try to do something like that.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
But man, that's got.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
To be in the back of your mind all the
time as well as I know it is for all
the men and women.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
And can't thank you enough for what you guys do.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Eric, That's yet something else to throw on the pile
of things I'm thankful for.

Speaker 4 (03:23):
Man.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
This Thanksgiving Yeah, you.

Speaker 5 (03:25):
Know what, guy, is truly a calling. I mean, you know,
my fellow brothers and sisters out there who do this
every day, day and day out, it's a calling. You
don't you don't go out there and think of the fear.
I mean, it's in your mind and you think about
it from a training aspect, and how do I tackle
this situation from the most beneficial way that sends me
home tonight. But you can't have the fear constantly over

(03:49):
top of you, or you couldn't do it.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
Yeah, paralyzed. Yea.

Speaker 5 (03:52):
Sometimes you go back and look at it and you say, geez,
that was close. You know, maybe I should do that
a little bit different. But you you rely on your
training in just years of experience to make sure you
go home at night.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
Yeah, no question about it. Man.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
One thing I would like to interject here is a
little bit of levity. Remember to bring up politics at
the Thanksgiving table to save money on Christmas presents this year.
I just read that on social media and I was
like cracking up.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
I'm like, oh, that's hilarious.

Speaker 4 (04:21):
Yeah, I love that.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
That's really really funny. Unfortunately, there are some people who
will have both sides of the aisle at their table,
and hey, if you're one of the people that does
not have, you know, a bunch of liberals sitting at
your Thanksgiving table, then.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
Good on you. You got it. You're gonna have an
easier date. We don't.

Speaker 4 (04:42):
We know, and we're thankful for that and we don't.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
Yeah, and I don't know where if you've got a
mix where you're going to be sitting tomorrow, Eric, But
it certainly is like everyone you know, it's kind of
an unspoken thing, or maybe it's even spoken like don't
talk about politics, like you don't want to bring that up.
And it seems actually volatile right about now too, man,
no question about that.

Speaker 5 (05:03):
We we just don't invite them anymore.

Speaker 4 (05:06):
Oh wow, No, they sit outside.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
They got to sit on the other side of the
window like during COVID.

Speaker 5 (05:12):
Yes, yes, no, I mean we're unfortunate. My family's all
like minded and open minded and stuff. So it's always
good and it's always a good time to see the family,
so it is always nice.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
Hey, uh, do you you guys get you have the
Christmas tree up yet?

Speaker 5 (05:28):
You know what? We were ahead of the game for
the first time ever in the Delbert household. It has
been up for a week and the light outside has
been on as well.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
All right, that's me clapping, man, how about you. We've
had ours up for a week as well. We went
and cut it down. We always go and get a
we cut one down. We got to tim Buck Farms
out in the Johnstown area and we went out there
and cut one down and we put it up last Saturday.
So it's been in place, and so we're right there

(05:57):
with you man. It's like a it's like a Christmas
wonderland inside of our you know, our house. Jenny is
tireless with her decorating and she's she's amassed this enormous
bunch of stuff over the years, and it was all
put out for display last weekend. And I'm really happy
to hear you guys have yours up already, I think,

(06:19):
And we usually typically it's usually the Black Friday, like
the Friday after Thanksgiving is when we would do that.
And then it also gets kind of in the way
of because that's always Michigan Saturday, and you know.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
So on and so forth.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
But all of that is out of the way and
we are all set and ready to go for the
big old party we're having on Saturday, you guys having
like a big Michigan Ohio state party.

Speaker 5 (06:41):
Not really because we're tied to the store. I mean,
we will get to watch the game, but you know,
being a big weekend in retail will be tied to
the store because of Black Friday and the weekend and stuff.
But we we will we will definitely step away for
the game. But you know the Delbert household too. If
you know me, I have a little liking to light.
So we're not only have the decorations up, but every

(07:01):
light has a an automatic timer to automatically come on
at a precise time during the day. It's really kind of.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
Neat, Eric, very cool, you know, you know Don Ross
rosswell device anybody.

Speaker 4 (07:14):
Yeah, a quick question, I'd be curious.

Speaker 3 (07:15):
To know what what you'll move the most of this weekend,
whether it's gift cards or it's you know, all the
accouterment you have because you have a great store there
with all the all the things you can buy from
the ranges to you know, holsters, everything.

Speaker 4 (07:30):
What will you move the most this week And I'm
just curious, you know what.

Speaker 5 (07:33):
As time goes on through the holiday season, the gift
cards come into play. Yeah, but we have in this
and this sounds like a sales pitch, but we really
have some neat things going on for Black Friday. We're
about six or seven years into and now where one
of the big things we do we give away free guns.
And you know, most people think, wow, how do you

(07:53):
do that?

Speaker 4 (07:54):
Yeah, And what it.

Speaker 5 (07:56):
Is is with our membership, which is a great thing
to do into shooting, into practicing. It's only three hundred
and fifty dollars for the year. It gets you free
shooting during the week and discounts throughout the whole year.
But we will give you if you sign up for
this membership on Black Friday, we'll give you a free gun.
So we have a list of I think ten or
fifteen different ones to choose from. So that's certainly a

(08:18):
big seller for us on Black Friday. But we also
have we have a lot going on in the firearms.
So Glock, as you guys may or may not have known,
has discontinued a lot of models. They've become enormously sought
after right now. We were fortunate to get a large
batch of them in so we're tying that into our

(08:41):
sales tomorrow. So there is really a lot of neat
things here from the firearms side of things.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
Eric, we're talking to Eric Delbert who's host of On Target.
He's also owner LAPD Firearms and Range over there on
Bethel Road. Eric, the you know the Trump gun the
one with the it's got like the Bill of Rights on.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
Well, there's I guess a few different versions of it
or whatever. I believe that glock is the one that
we have one.

Speaker 1 (09:08):
Yeah, yeah, And I know you at one point had those.
I believe you were telling me you had those. I
don't know, a do you still have any or can
you get your hands on those? Because I feel like
those are probably hotter than ever right now with him
being in office and so on, and uh, that's something
that people might be looking at for, you know, Christmas.

Speaker 2 (09:29):
Gift or something.

Speaker 5 (09:30):
Yeah, we actually there. There's many different models of it now,
so it's usually it's not the manufacturer who does it.
It's some aftermarkettribute. Okay, So there's a lot of different
neat patterns to choose from. We try to keep one
or two sitting around, but we have access to them all.
So somebody comes in and says, hey, I've seen this
one that has the Constitution on it, or there's one

(09:51):
that says keep fighting. We can get all those and
they are really neat.

Speaker 4 (09:55):
On.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
It's gorgeous, that gorgeous guns. You know.

Speaker 1 (09:59):
Don Don turned me on. He sent me a picture.
I'll never forget. He sends me a picture of the
one he was getting and I was like, wait a minute.
And so he handed off his contact a buddy of
ours who's an officer for CPD firearms dealer Yeah, yeah, yeah,
and dealer yeah of course, And I ended up getting
one through him. But that was when I was like

(10:22):
talking to you about it. You're like, yeah, we have those.
I'm like, oh, that's cool. I didn't you know, I
didn't realize, but there it is. If somebody has never
seen these, start doing some research online and looking. And
so it's all the different manufacturers who do these, like
they'll do kind of do they take an order or
or are they like, hey, this is something we do

(10:43):
with you know, the glock, you know whatever, thirty s
or you know whatever like so.

Speaker 5 (10:48):
Typically it's it's the distributors where a lot of our
product comes from, that will say, you know what, we're
going to do a distributor special run and they'll pick out,
you know, some firearms that are that are pretty pop
and then they will on their own send them to
people that engrave them or do the laser engraving, and
then offer them, you know.

Speaker 4 (11:07):
To this so cool.

Speaker 5 (11:08):
A lot of them are distributors specific and kind of unique.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
Yeah, that's so cool. If somebody still have time to
if they come into L e EPD Firearms and Range
on Bethel Road, of would they still have time before
Christmas to get that turned around or is that something
that takes a little longer.

Speaker 5 (11:22):
No, we can actually get them probably within two days.

Speaker 4 (11:25):
Oh wow, I mean they're putting on which.

Speaker 5 (11:27):
Model and stuff? Yeah, within two days. I mean we
have a great, great line of distributors we work with,
and so yeah, they're easy to get.

Speaker 4 (11:34):
Awesome.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
That's awesome.

Speaker 1 (11:35):
So yeah, Black Friday coming up, you guys are going
to have a bunch of great deals and so on.
Now you you hit on it a little bit, but
do you have some other stuff that you're going to
be featuring or stuff that you want to kind of
pinpoint or talk about right now?

Speaker 5 (11:47):
Yeah? I mean use firearms, if you all know, are
a great thing to look at if you're in the
firearms market. Timberson off all of those gift cards you
guys missing those. For every one hundred dollars gift card
that you purchase, we give you a cub on for
twenty five dollars off one hundred so you can either
keep that for yourself or included in the gift. They're
all kinds of giveaways and stuff. When you're buying guns,

(12:12):
just a ton there really is a lot. I mean,
I you know, we go into the season and we say, geez,
what are we going to do for Black Friday? And
here we are two days away and we looked at
it today and we're like, wow, we did a lot.
So there's some a lot of neat things.

Speaker 1 (12:26):
I would imagine too that the guns are like anything
else as far as trends go. Right now, the would
you say, out of every hundred people that come through
the door, I don't know. We'll just I'll throw an
arbitrary number, like forty people ask about this particular gun
or want to buy this gun, or do buy this gun?

(12:48):
What do you sell the most of As far as
the make and the caliber as far as guns go.

Speaker 5 (12:55):
Right, nine millimeter in two two three are by far
the sealed calibers.

Speaker 2 (13:00):
I don't consider that.

Speaker 5 (13:01):
Yeah, we're big on conceal carry, I mean personal protection.
So a lot of our most popular ones are all
the ones that fit that category. So the glocks that
are right up there at the smith and West and
the SIGs. If you hone down a particular model or two.
There's been a couple of Smith and West and models
lately that have been enormously popular. A little three eighty
they came out with that's tiny for what it is

(13:23):
block their small nines are always popular. From the ar standpoint,
there's probably two or three different ones. Everyone comes in
looking for the Sig line, the Smith line, but by
and large most people are looking at those those particular categories.

Speaker 1 (13:40):
You know, yeah, what about is the Walter PPK, the
James Bond, the three eighty that I ended up getting
from you?

Speaker 2 (13:48):
Is that one that's kind of died off? Or do you?

Speaker 1 (13:50):
Is that just kind of one of those old faithful
you know you just you have somebody coming in every
once in a while asking about that it's.

Speaker 5 (13:57):
Kind of died off. It's a classic, it's iconic. But
from a practicality standpoint, there are so many other things now.
I mean, I think the PPK might hold six or
seven rounds, relatively heavy firearm, and it has a double action,
a little bit longer of a trigger pool. So in
comparison the Smith and Wesson three they just came out

(14:18):
with holds thirteen rounds is thinner and probably about half
the weight. So from a practicality standpoint, there's other things
out there now, but you can't beat the classics like those.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
So what are your hour?

Speaker 4 (14:31):
Oh it's kind of like the aid mart and it's
just not prossical. But I do have a I do
a thing to add.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
Oh yeah, go ahead, go ahead.

Speaker 3 (14:37):
Well, so we do a lot of client events, as
you know, and Bob Meader brought Eric and to speak
on firearms and all that, and it was a big hit,
by the way, but sometimes people that aren't familiar with
firearms are you get that deer in the headlight look,
they're like, oh, well, Eric explained to a lot of
people and they felt more comfortable. So I don't know
if you do a lot of those events, but I'm

(14:58):
doing a little plug for you. You know, if anybody
out there as a company they want to do either
an employee educational thing or like you, spoke to one
hundred and some of our clients and they loved it.

Speaker 5 (15:07):
So you're exactly right, And that is what we've always
prided ourselves on. We recognize not everyone is going to
go out there and jump in and jump into the
fire arms market. It's right for a lot of people.
Some people it's not right for And we talked through
that and sometimes at the end of it, you know,
we can point them in a different direction and sometimes
they become comfortable and you know, now they're a number here.

(15:30):
So I mean, yeah, with that stuff, we love to do.

Speaker 2 (15:32):
What's the problem?

Speaker 3 (15:32):
Oh, I tell you another thing we did, and this
is this is kind of a personal thing. So we
did a air fryer and gun party at our house
one day and people are like, what are you talking about. Well,
I bought the strike man, you know, the the targeting,
the targeting you can use with a laser bullet.

Speaker 4 (15:47):
And I tell you what, a couple of people that
came to that little.

Speaker 3 (15:50):
Party at our house, we're like, really afraid at first,
but then they realized when they actually handled it and
there's no real bullets around, You're using a special laser
that shoots the right and it was.

Speaker 4 (16:00):
Really they loved it. It was really fun.

Speaker 2 (16:02):
And then also too for defense. You guys have been
carrying the.

Speaker 5 (16:07):
Burner too, was I was just gonna mention that and blaze,
we got to get that in your hands. Sometimes it
try I.

Speaker 2 (16:12):
Want to try it absolutely now, you'll be impressed.

Speaker 5 (16:15):
I mean we were all kind of a little bit
skeptical around here. Everyone around here is a gun guy,
gun girl, and you know, jeez, how good could this be?
And when we did it, we have like a little
rain set up to try it here now and all
of us were like, wow, I would not want to
be standing in front of that. And it's less lethal.

Speaker 2 (16:33):
Very cool.

Speaker 1 (16:34):
The hours for Black Friday, of course, you guys will
be closed tomorrow and then Black Friday hours.

Speaker 5 (16:39):
Eric, it's just our normal ten to seven and you know,
obviously limited quantities on some of this, but we have
a lot, so it's not like we're going to run
out in the first five minutes.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
Very good.

Speaker 1 (16:49):
LAPD Firearms and Range on Bethel Road. On Target will
be off this week, right correct.

Speaker 5 (16:56):
We're actually on. They're going to be sorry taped because
it's over top of the Michigan game and it's gonna
be pre taped just talking about some of our specials.

Speaker 2 (17:04):
Oh, very good, Okay, awesome, cool, all right, that's awesome.

Speaker 4 (17:07):
Awesome.

Speaker 1 (17:07):
Eric Delbert, who is host of on Target and owner
LEEPD Firearms in Range on Bethel Road. Eric, Happy Thanksgiving,
Thank you for jumping on with us. Continued success to you,
my friend and everybody. Everybody go get something really cool.
That's what everybody on your Christmas list really wants. Something
from LPD Firearms in Range.

Speaker 2 (17:27):
Eric. Thank you so much, appreciate it.

Speaker 5 (17:29):
Thank you guys, and be safe this weekend.

Speaker 2 (17:30):
Absolutely thanks brother,
